moodyone - Sunday Jun 06, 2004 Weight:270.0  (Just exercising with curves)

Taking a break as I'm not dedicated right no.

moodyone - Wednesday Jun 02, 2004 Weight:270.0  (Just exercising with curves)

Ok, here's my plan today. I'm going to drink at least 4 cups of water (I'm building slowly) and then I'm going to not raid the snack machine. Really no problem as I'm broke. smile the only good thing about being broke. It eleminates temptation.

moodyone - Sunday May 30, 2004 Weight:270.0  (Just exercising with curves)

This last week I did do very bad but I do have high hopes for this coming week. After all. It's up to me. I'm going to exercise at least 3 times this coming week and drink 8 cups of water a day.

Comment left by geevee on 05/31/2004: Good for the exercise and water. Why not add, smaller portions?

Did pretty bad today diet wise but tomarrow is another day and I'm really going to consentrate on the water.

moodyone - Sunday May 23, 2004 Weight:270.0  (Just exercising with curves)

Well I think I'm going to make a plan now. This first week I'm going to focus on drinking at least 8 cups of waters and doing curves or some exercise every day. On week two I'm going to cut out sweets. Then week three the vending machine and junk food. Then week 4 cut out bread after that I'll just go one week at a time and see how I do.

I don't think I can just jump into the atkins thing right away again because of my history of depression. Gotta get ready for work now.

Comment left by geevee on 05/23/2004: Sounds like a good plan, to slowly make the needed changes one week at a time, but I wouldn't cut out the bread. Why not just limit yourself to whatever amount you think would be good, say one or two slices and no more, a day. Bread has all those great B vitamins. Cutting out the fast food is a REAL PLUS!

Comment left by fairytalegirl on 05/23/2004: sounds like you have a good, realistic approach to things. good luck and stay strong! It sounds like a good plan!

Comment left by Coco on 05/23/2004: Your brain needs carbohydrates to produce serotonin - a type of chemical called a neurotransmitter, which regulates mood and appetite, among other things. Without eating carbohydrates your brain will not produce this chemical. If, like me, you have a biological tendency to already have low levels of this chemical (it causes nasty things like migraines and panic attacks in me - it can also cause depression), then a low carbohydrate diet will aggravate the situation. This kind of diet probably isn't right for you. Don't worry - a low carb diet is not the only way to lose weight - portion control and exercise work too, even if the results may take a bit more time. Don't give up!

Comment left by StartledFurby on 05/23/2004: I can honestly say that I know exactly how you feel. I have a hard time with depression and carbs too. If you're going to do a low carb diet, and suffer from depression, only use the maintenance plan as a guideline. Don't cut too many carbs or the depression will get SO MUCH worse. But... You're trying, and I'm proud of you! YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Much Love!

Today I feel a lot better. I had a very stressful day but I only hit the snack machine once. Tomarrow I'm focusing on water and not hitting the machine.

Dad got done fixing dinner. I'm really not hungry. I guess I'm weird. I'm eating though.. I don't know why I feel a little down today. I'm going back to curves next week, for sure.

Well, I'm eating a carb wise bar and a banana ( a weird combo.) I feel sad this morning. I'mnot planing any special diet today. But I'll make a plan not to eat out of the vending machine at work. It's a start.

One thing at a time is indeed a good plan--keep trying--it's worth it, you're worth it. I wish you the best in your efforts!

I'm doing this diary to try to be focused. I just came off the atkins diet which I did for around 2 weeks. My mood bottomed out and I became extremely depressed. Glad I stopped but I worry that I'll never lose this weight.

Comment left by curlsncuffs on 05/21/2004: Hey - hang in there - I've been doing Atkins for 13 months - have lost 84 lbs - started at 240 lbs! You can do this. How can I help you? Did you read the book? Did you read it again? And, again? Did you do the diet? Including exercise? If you didn't include exercise you didn't do Atkins. He says in the book this is not an option. What did you eat, can you post a typical menu? I felt like you one year ago - and now - I can wear some size 8 clothes at 156 lbs - 5'2 and I work out at Curves at least 4 days a week - I do try to work out 6 days a week!

Comment left by QT on 05/21/2004: You'll lose the weight, you just need to find what works for you. Make one goal at a time, like start out working out, give yourself a couple weeks, then add a new habit, like cut out all sugar, eat more vegs, less carbs. But just go slow, set yourself up to win, don't overload, or you'll get discouraged. This Jounal site is great, we really try to help each other, though the good and bad days. Good luck.
