My first week went MUCH better than I expected. The only thing I've had that wasn't on the program was about 1/4 cup popcorn at the movie (Shrek) last night. But it was such a small portion I'm not even counting it. :)
I did hit a bit of a plateau for a couple days -- well, now that I get to thinking about it, I guess you can't call a couple days at the same weight a plateau. You can't (shouldn't) lose a pound or more every single day.
After 8 days on my new diet I've lost 7 pounds. I expect the loss to slow down after a week or two, but I'm going to keep walking in the hopes that it helps speed my metabolism enough so that I lose at least 3 pounds per week.
At 12 pounds per month here's what I can weigh:
July 284 August 272 September 260 (where I got to before backsliding) October 248 November 236 December 224 January 212 February 200 Woohoo!
Hmmm...I don't want to think discouraging thoughts so quickly, but I think the closer I get to my goal weight the slower stuff will come off. Well, I hope I can keep up that pace for the next few months, anyway.
