I finally dropped 2 pounds!!! I can't believe how much I struggled the last 2 weeks! But yesterday I drank 4 litres of water and followed my diet plan exactly, did my cardio workout in the morning and my weights at night and what do you know - 2 pounds gone this morning!!!! I am trying a new motivation technique this week. I've dedicated this week and the month of June to my dear grandfather Richard who passed away 10 years ago. I loved him with all my heart and his trying to honor his memory is keeping me motivated!!!
My YMCA will take my bodyfat measurement for me with calliphers.....does anyone know how accurate that is? I'd like to try but if I'm going to be humiliated in front of a stranger who is not my doctor then it at least should be accurate!!! Have a great day!

Congratulations on the weightloss!! :-)) We purchased a digital scale on Friday evening and I had to add 2 lbs. to each and every entry. Not sure which scale is correct as the other is new also, but I decided to go with the heavier that way I can't go wrong, lol... Keep up with the great job, are you still drinking the Slim-Fast? I haven't touched it for 2 weeks now. Diana

Two pounds!!! How terrific is that???? Great work, there! It was quite touching to read of a granddaughter dedicating her efforts in memory of a dear grandfather. That gives us all a sizeable something to think about for ourselves. Thank you. And, thank you also, Sweet Halley, for the thought provoking comment that you made to me. I know exactly that which you are speaking of. And, it is true that I could have a million powerfully positive things to say about this guy. Because he IS so many things. There is a certain thing about some folks. It is lifestage related. It is how one spends their earlier life and what they have to look back on. Certain people are weighted so powerfully with regret and cannot forgive themselves. My nature is one of embracing the humanness in people. Some people's nature is to scoff. One day their was a widow woman who was without one to care for.... to share life.... she thought that another could be embraced so fully that he would become smoother at the edges.

The fat test is suppose to be pretty accurate! We got it done a few months ago and It seemed pretty accurate. It does hurt a bit though...and I had NO idea that you had to drop your pants! And it was a young man doing the testing! I had those funky white plain underware on lol. I bet he was impressed! Good luck and so glad to see your getting that done! Have a wonderful day today!

Hey, congrats on the loss, that's fantastic! I've heard that the caliper test is kind of a crapshoot. It depends somewhat on the skill of the person giving the test, but also on how fat is distributed on your body. Everyone deposits fat in different proportions in different parts of their body, so I don't know if the calipers can really estimate that percentage all that accurately. The most accurate measurement is supposed to be the one where you go into a bath so they can measure the water displacement. I think digital scales may even be as accurate or more accurate than calipers, but I'm not sure...
