diva - Thursday May 31, 2001 Weight:215.0          (My own)

I LIVE MY LIFE IN GROWING ORBITS WHICH MOVE OUT OVER THE THINGS OF THIS EARTH.

Hello everybody! Good Morning!! I feel compelled to come to the Diet Diaries as soon as I can every day. Every day is almost like a new adventure. I never know who is going to comment or when the comment is going to pop up. I find myself checking my comments all of the time. LOL. You are all like a great network of supportive friends and I love having that support. It feels even better getting to tell you how I did and knowing that I don't feel ashamed to write it down because I am doing 100% better that I did before I started the DD's. Thank you all for your comments, they really help and I try to comment on as many as I possibly can a day. Well, here I am today, feeling great again, except for my voice. It is still almost nil. Forget yelling at my kids.LOL.

Here goes on what I had yesterday to eat: Breakfast, only coffee w/ 2% milk (2 cups). Lunch, 11 saltine crackers with tuna mixed with a little lite mayo. Dinner, 1Manwich and 1 cup of baked beans. I also drank over 4 liters of water. That is all I drink, except for my coffee. I month ago I probably would have had at least 3 manwichs. Seriously. I feel so much better about myself now. Well, I am going to go read and comment on everybodys entries. Everyone keep up their fantastic willpower and chug water. Sherri --Soon to be a sexy vixen, I mean that too! P.S. I want to offer an apology to DVDMON.

You're doing GREAT! Have a wonderful day.

Comment left by mommyof two on 05/31/2001: a sex vixen hu....well you go girl.and i,m sure you will be. it sounds like your doing a great job... i know the feeling of the three manwhitches..believe me... about the sugar thing... i have been on the atkins sence about feburary. around the end sometime...but ever sence that little easter bunny came by in march, well, a little chocolate bunny here and there came to haunt me.so this challagne is exactly what i needed to get back on track.. if you,ve noticed , my weight loss has slowed down drastically!so, i,ve got to do this....today i think i,m gonna eat regular food..bread and such...because tomorrow come hell or high water , i,m back to the grind!!! wish me luck..well, i need to get some work done , so i must let you go., thanks for your comments... your great , lisa

Comment left by firebabe on 05/31/2001: hehehe I know what you mean about reading the comments, it's like a little reward when you see something there! I started on my tae Bo a couple weeks ago, and I LOVE it! The workout is really short, but I work up such a BIG sweat in a little amount of time and it's just plan FUN! I will admit though, it took me a good week before my hamstrings weren't achy with every little step I took! It was really so much pain, as tightness you feel when you KNOW you've workout a muscle and it's NOT going to let you forget it! I'm looking forward togetting my basic tape down so I can go on to a longer workout!

Comment left by minea on 05/31/2001: Sounds like you're doing great! Now that my focus is on drinking water, with the exception of my coffee in the morning, that's all I drink too. Once in while I'll have a diet coke or something, but if I'm drinking 4 litres of water a day, who has room for anything more? It's great though because that way we're not getting as much sugar or aspartame as in diet colas and juices. And if you keep this up, you certainly will be a sexy vixen!

Comment left by pushedtothewall on 05/31/2001: Dear, dear, dear and dear Diva, I just know so much about you. I can practically see you there in the life that you bear. I know that there are many wonderful moments in everyone's life.... those A's are one!!! Great job, Sweetie! And the kids and other pleasures..... yet that underlying thing that there is more to life. I want you to know what happy is. I am the poorest one to speak of such things. You know full well my story. In a way our lives happened in reverse. You are yet to find that easy and natural happiness with your partner. I understand what it is that you are saying when you tell me that you know of these options which I wrote you about yesterday :( Me too, but by inching along, I am hoping for a thing....

Good luck with it all today, and smile and yourself in the mirror and compliment your OWN self, it is not forthcoming from another, who you are unable to count on really. I am thinking of you and I admire you very much. Your friend, Connie

Comment left by pushedtothewall on 05/31/2001: And, how perfect, thoughtful AND thought provoking your quotation gift to me personally was yesterday; and, how expansively wonderous your entry quote was today!!! Your soul is just shining through there, by the way. And, you know, you write in a beautiful way. I love your way. C.

Comment left by Kyrin on 05/31/2001: You're making good headway toward being the same sexy vixen outside that you are inside. Congrats on the positive changes that you've made. Now...how about adding in some fruit and veggies? They will fill you up and be soooo good for you.

You're doing well. Keep it going'!

Comment left by pinkus on 05/31/2001: Thanks for your nice comments. I hope your kids don't put you in a position to have to yell. Isn't DD the greatest? Pam

Comment left by thatmochagirl on 05/31/2001: Well Sherri, I find that DVDmon is a very understanding and compassionate person, so maybe you should apologize to him in private/e-mail . Comment left by DVDMon on 05/31/2001: Ok, now you're just trying to rile me, aren't you? ;-) Protein Power (the "way of eating" or "WOE" as we like to call it, not a "diet" heheh) is fairly similar to Atkins. But there are some key differences and if you are interested keep reading, otherwise skip to the next paragraph! Protein Power (PP as we call it) is a little less restrictive in the beginning with an alotment of 30-40 grams of carbs as opposed to Atkins 20. The Eades emphasize using those carbs in the most healthy way - fruits and veggies. Whereas Atkins really doesn't care what you do with them so on his plan you could use them all on cheese and eggs and Atkins protein bars! Also, PP emphasizes getting enough protein. They have calculations in the book that help you determine your minimum. This is so that you don't lose muscle tissue while you are dieting, which hinders the weightloss process in addition to just not being healthy for you. Their second book, Protein Power Lifeplan, is very wholistic and goes into all kinds of stuff, not just losing weight. It is definitely modeled as a way of eating and way of life.

As far as fruits, for the longest time I wasn't getting any, but just recently started eating some berries on a daily basis. They recommend berries because they are low in sugar, high in fiber, and loaded with nutrients and phytochemicals.

Yes, send photos, just don't send anything to riske or we both may get in trouble with you know who! ;-)

Comment left by herb on 05/31/2001: You are right about me not eating not enough fruit, nor drinking enough water. I'm always trying to improve my food plan. Oops almost said "diet."

What are you apologizing to Levi for?
