breakaway - Thursday May 31, 2001 Weight:234.0          (SUBWAY)

Woops!! Thanks rader for brining that to my attention! Ok...figured out my June goal. Actually it is a few things. I am going to stay away from wow chips...like hubby say's when I eat them I eat way to many! So that is my first goal! The second one is to get to the gym at LEAST 3 time's per week and do at LEAST 30 min of exercise! That should be a pretty good goal for me.

I have a story for you guys today. I went to work yesterday to pick up something and I ended up talking to an old couple about there family. They in return asked if I had grandma's or grandpa's alive. I told them that I never got the pleasure of ever meeting them as they were all dead when I was born. My mother had already went through her change of life and three yrs later she had me. Doc called me the miracle baby lol. So anyway, then they went on deeper into my family life and asked about aunts, uncles Etc...I told them that I don't know any of them either...which I really don't as we went to like 3 reunions in our lifetime and I was very younge at the time. So never knew any of my family except for my sister's brother's (which my brothers are both deceased now) and my mom and dad. And I was totally happy with that! My nieces came around and I had buddy's then even though they were 10 yrs younger lol. But to make a long story short...this women felt SO bad for me that she offered me money to find my aunts, uncle's etc... I found that so odd! She was almost in tears for me...when I was just fine with it my whole life. I just gave her a hug and told her I was fine and I have my own family now who needs me and I have my niece's and sister's. She was such a sweet lady though! She told me I could contact her anytime I needed anything and gave me her number! lol Isn't that just the most non-selfish thing you ever heard? I hope I am just like her when I get older.

Anyway, about the diet! I am doing ok...had some extra chips last night that maybe I shouldn't have but other than that...still holding on and doing well! I still haven't though of my goal for June...anyone have any idea's for me...knowing me. I wish you all the best of luck today and I am going to try to get some commenting in today again. I had so much fun spending hours on here last night trying to catch up on old entries and commenting. Hubby didn't like it much as he was waiting in line to use the puter. But he was ok with it. I will talk to you all real soon. BE GOOD!

Comment left by TNYankee950 on 05/31/2001: That's a wonderful story you told about the couple you met. We need more stories like that in the news that all the bad stuff we hear on the TV and newspaper. Can't wait to hear what you decide to have as your June goal. And congrats on meeting your May goal. Have a great day.

Comment left by pinkus on 05/31/2001: Nice story. Congrats on making May goal Pam

Comment left by Rader on 05/31/2001: Hey! Congratulations on the May goal! That is very good. It looks like you forgot to type in '234' though... it still says 236.5 or whatever.

Isn't it always cool when you have a healthy meal and then surprised how GOOD it was, and how full it makes ya? Heather and I talk about that a lot when we each have a meal that surprises us in the happiness factor. Afterall, how can it be a "diet" if it's that good. How can one 'quit' the diet if it keeps us that satisfied? Well that's what goes through my head once in a while, and it makes me happy because I know I've got a long long long road ahead.

Tell your husband congrats on the 296 pounds too! That's really good. I hope he's proud of you two, also! That was really cool reading about your running off to buy some fruit too... you're doing really good. Keep up the good work!

Don't forget: Jared never ate any candy on his 'Subway' diet! :) *big grin*

Comment left by carrie on 05/31/2001: Wow! That is something! What a totally lovely woman! But you are so deserving of a strangers warmth cuz you just exude with kindness yourself! No doubt you will be a nice old lady! ha ha

I just love conversing with older people (I mean real older) I am an older person! ha ha They are so special! I use to work at a hearing aid center and I met the greatest people! A generation so special!

Carrie

Comment left by herb on 05/31/2001: The reason I asked about the fingernail was that I caught my right thumb in a taxi cabs door. Except I didn't yell. I was anesthetized at the time, if you know what I mean. wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

Great story about that woman. I guess thats one of the big advantages of working at the motel, you get to meet a lot of people.

Comment left by pastagal on 05/31/2001: What a touching story,,,:}}LOL,,thats funny that hubby had to wait in line to use the puter,,,just tell him,,,,Ladies first:}} have a great evening,,,i am so late getting on here reading and commenting today,,,,,,

you have a great day, good luck finding your june challange...lisa...you can still join mocha, pink, and myself... lol

Comment left by firebabe on 06/01/2001: WOW, what a sweet story! Doesn't it just give you the greatest feeling when someone does of offers to do something so completely unselfish!? Sometimes we have this wonderful moments in ours days, and for me it's like being comforted and reassured that there is so much hope and potential for us as a whole. Then I watch the news and get depressed (lol, okay, that was half a joke, sorry!) Good Luck on your new monthly goals! Remember you can do it!!

Comment left by diva on 06/01/2001: Hello breakaway. It sounds like you are in good spirits today. I am glad. That little old couple sounds so terrific, almost like something you would see in a movie and never really think people like that are really out there. There may be hope for the world after all.

As for a goal, I don't know how you are with water, but how about challenge yourself to drink at least 2 liters a day, if you already do that, how about 3 or 4.

Whatever you choose, have the greatest of luck and I will be here every day giving you words of encouragement. I am also sending you some will power!

Love, Sherri the Vampire Vixen

Comment left by pushedtothewall on 06/01/2001: Well, I think that that is just a fine goal. I am so concerned, as you know, to be on the same page as you because I am always preparing myself for a sudden sprint from you. This is my first experience with gaining on you at ALL and I just want to keep that going. I don't want to let you down either. That was really a sweet encounter that you had at work yesterday :) People, ya just gotta love 'em, right? What's going on in the new furniture department? Connie

Comment left by sparkymel on 06/01/2001: Wow! That is just amazing! She's like an angel, isn't she. Well, I hate to hear that too Carrie. I have a big family and I can't imagine not having them. I just hate that for you-not having your mom or dad or grandparents. I know you don't know what you've missed because you haven't had it and that may be a good thing. I am very glad that you're happy with your family and you do have your sisters and nieces and nephews-so that's good. It's nice to know there are still good people in the world. Have a great weekend.-Mel

Comment left by SoccerMom on 06/01/2001: Kinda like the old Lay's advertisement...."betcha can't eat just one!" I stay way far away from chips of all sorts. I like 'em to much to quit once I start.

That was a sweet story. Isn't it nice to meet an angel like that?

Have a great day!

Comment left by Krispy on 06/01/2001: What a sweet story, its just goes to prove that there are some really nice people about!

Great idea about your goals for the June challenge - I think we all have out own individual goals and I really think that this month we will meet them, maybe it has something to do with the onset of summer!

I indulged slightly last night, think it was knowing that I was starting the challenge today!

Take care and have a great day!

JANE
