How do you feel about yourself, your weight, your decision to change? I feel really in control of the situation and its already making positive changes in my quality of life. I think I can finally win this battle.
How long have you been overweight? skinny kid who got chubby, then thinned out in high school, gained in college, lost for the wedding, gained with the baby, lost afterward, and slowly gained and lost the same 40-60 pounds over the past 25 years. So basically, a yoyo dieter.
What things have you tried before to lose the weight? you name it, I've tried it! Been on diets since I was 12 years old!
What is the number one reason you want to lose weight? my health, my quality of life and longevity, to enjoy my granddaughters growing up. And of course, for my vanity and to keep my husband interested!
What are some other reasons? pretty clothes that fit!
What is your goal weight? 130
What is the first thing you want to do when you reach your goal? hmm, don't really know...
Are the people closest to you supportive? If not, why? yes, they all think I'm fat! Actually, my husband is very supportive and wants me to be healthy.
What is the worst thing about being overweight? Having people judge your worth by your appearance.
What is the best thing about you? Accepting other people, their lifestyles, choices, appearance, etc.
How will losing weight affect those around you? Now that I have lost a good bit of weight, I can say there has been a variety of responses. Some people say they are inspired, most are complimentary. When they ask how I did it, 99% have excuses of why they could never do it that way (go vegan, no oil.) That makes me sad, because it makes it seem I have some superpower and they lack control of their own lives, which just isn't true.
On a scale of 1 to 10 (low to high) how determined are you to reach your goal? 10
