Good morning all, I hope your day is going well. Feeling pretty good, getting my energy back, this weekend I was able to deep clean a couple of rooms and I was not worn out, won't lie, I was tired but not enough to collapse...lol taking things at my pace and staying on track with trying to eat better..will update my weight on Saturday. Have a blessed day all.

Progress as of today: 48 lbs lost so far, only 30 lbs to go!

Hello everyone. It's a rainy day here in Tennessee, much better than snow, went to see my surgeon yesterday, the first thing out of his mouth was, if I saw you on the street I would not have known you. I thanked him again for saving my life, told him about my stomach issues, he checked my meds and pointed to one saying that's why, it was my heart medicine. He said to start miralax 2 times a day until my system adjusted. I was so happy it had nothing to do with my surgery. Well I'm a pound down,and very happy, I'll take it....have a great weekend everyone.

Progress as of today: 48 lbs lost so far, only 30 lbs to go!

Hello everyone...just wanted to check in, no weight loss still holding at 181. Which is fine, once I see doctor Friday I will know what's going on in my system... otherwise the weather has cleared up, snow and ice are gone....we had almost 70 degree weather yesterday, it was beautiful...today it has been in the 40's...in Tennessee you never know what the weather will be like from day to day. Well since I am trying to eat healthier I have not had my sweets like I use to but last week I bought some salsa and chips...may I say bad choice, I couldn't stop eating them, so needless to say I will not bring anymore in my house...but it was Sooo GOOD!! Lol well guys have a great evening.

A lb down, happy about that. Having stomach issues, Dr. Recommendation was to start taking miralax, told me remember you only have a small part of your colon so once you go, you will drop a few pounds, I told her, losing weight is not worth all of this.....yes, I eat plenty of veggies and fruit but my body is slow moving it out....ok too much information...lol I will be so glad to see the 170's. I think about, 3months ago I was weighing around 225,now I think about food different. Feeling highly blessed, everyone have a great evening.

Hello all, just wanted to check in on this cold day in Tennessee. The great news is that we should be in the high 50's by the end of the week... can't wait!!this fasting is going pretty well so far, I fast from 5pm-9am , so far it's been easy. I do adjust my time on dialysis days. I will weigh in on t-thurs-sat, my home scale is all over the place, so I weigh at clinic, this way I know my weight is correct.well I will post my weight tomorrow. Have a great day!!!

I have also heard good things about that kinda fasting - I would do it if I had a slower lifestyle like if I was home more and didn't have to get up so early or home late - on weekends when I sleep In I guess I do a little bit of a fast !

I think that the IF has made a difference, although I usually only get about 10 hours from dinner to breakfast. I exercise before breakfast though, which is what makes the difference.

Just back from dialysis, it cold here in Tennessee and we got snow yesterday with about 2 inches of ice. So it's slow moving here, I did go to dialysis,I put on some chicken veggie soup in the crock before I left. When I walked into the house, it smelled wonderful. I'm trying intermittent fasting, I started on Thursday, so far I really like it. Well I'm in the house until Tuesday, I hope this ice melts soon. Enjoy your weekend everyone.

There are many different ways to do intermittent fasting. I've tried several different variations (including just an extended straight water fast). The one that would probably work best for me would be not eating for 23 hours out of every day and just eating my day's calories during a 1 hour window. Unfortunately when I tried this, I was thinking about food most of the day. I now do a less strict form where I skip breakfast and have a small calorie snack for "lunch". My main meal is dinner and probably a few light snacks directly afterwards. Usually from 9pm until noon the next day is <150 calories and noon to dinner is only another 200+- calories. So that's usually a total of less than 350 calories during 21 hours of the day. I've adjusted to it and it's become somewhat of a habit now. I don't think this type of IF is magically beneficial in any way. It works for me because it's a habit I can stick with that keeps me within my daily calorie allotment.

Hello everyone, my story is this. I'm 52 and have been overweight all of my life. I went into renal failure in 04 which was life changing it made me mad but did not stop me from eating...fast forward to June 2017, my heart started racing and I was having mini blackout spells, ended up having to have 3 heart stints....well started eating less...fast forward to Sept 2017, Dr. Called me on a Saturday and stated my blood work showed I was in need of a transfusion right now to get to the hospital NOW!! Well I went thinking I would be back home the next day...Wrong...they ran several test and the ER doc came in and stated I needed to be transferred to a larger facility ( I live in a very small town) well transferred to a larger hospital about an hour away..new doc came in stated I was being taken into surgery to see what was going on stating my blood was going somewhere but could not tell were..ok...a quick surgery on my belly where the surgeon saw bleeding..ok it's not over...another head surgeon came in to check on me about an hour later, I felt fine, this doctor asked why my stomach was so bloated? I told him I was fat!!! He said no, that is not just fat something is not right...he took me back to surgery, were he found major bleeding and infection to save me 1/2 of my colon was removed and he repaired my insides.. I was taken to ICU were I stayed for 4 weeks unconscious most of the time the Dr's did not think I would make it...I stayed in hospital for 5 weeks..I was able to go home but life was a big change...I did not eat while in hospital so the weight I had on me was fluid which was removed with dialysis...my weight started going down I was unable to stomach very little food...I am now 3 months out and feeling much better I now weigh 184-185. My goal is to get to 150 by Summer, I am so blessed to have life I just want to do what I can to stay around as long as I can. That's my story, I hope I didn't bore you all, I just felt the need to tell my story..most people think it's great I lost all this weight.. I let them know I almost died to achieve it....So glad to be part of the group
