I've been so concerned with encouraging others to eat sugar...I really don't want to trigger anyone...but it sounds like you all aren't too bothered by me...LOL.........If my menus ( or grazing items bother anyone just let me know) ......My plan is to just maintain until after the holidays....On new years day I plan to make some serious demands on myself....food wise, weight wise and otherwise....until then......I will continue to post foods.  I just don't want to bug anyone......


Thanksgiving day was quite traditional with turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberries, stuffing , rolls and pie. The breakfast was our usual. And candy as a snack


Today...since I made Denny the last 2 eggs left in the house I had to eat pie for breakfast...I think I got the best deal and of course coffee

Lunch was turkey on rolls ( 2), green bean casserole, stuffing, cranberries and sweet potatoes and coffee

Did a little shopping for groceries in 2 stores this morning...no black friday in this tiny town...so it wasn't too busy.

Gun shots all aroung right now...maybe I shouldn't be sitting in front of a wiindow.......

Planning a little side trip to visit some of Dennys family tomorrow....looking forward to that.

Dinner was chicken salad, 2 small rolls, apple juice, 6  crackers and cake in a cup

Evening before bed snack.....mixed nuts and a kashi bar.....starving!!!!

 HOP made  me start thinking about New Years Resolutions.......and starting to make my list.  Lots of little things to do around here today.........tomorrows dinner is all planned and the ingredients bought...it will just be us this year but it will be traditional for the most part....from here on, begins the typical holiday season and it's foods.....I'm not technically planning on dieting now for the remainder of the year...holding at this weight will be my goal through the rest of november and through december.  I think that I will probably not list my foods for the rest of the year...I'm afraid I may have triggered others in the past to eat more sugar ( that is something I will always eat because of my hypoglycemia)...and it's the only thing that really raises my sugar levels quickly because it really drops dangerously low quickly.....anyway.....I am here...I'll post and comment....but not list foods after today.

Breakfast = coffee, 1 egg, ham, toast

Snack = candy corn and mixed nuts

Lunch = big green salad and chop suey 

Dinner = baked beans, pulled pork, pumpkin bar, cookies

Evening = tea

Progress as of today: 19.4 lbs lost so far, only 106 lbs to go!

LOL...well, I am so glad i had a positive effect on you despite my other recent failures (i know it's only some things failed, not everything - no worries!)...!

If not dieting, which is prob smart, planning to maintain is a GREAT idea for holiday season when so many are gaining weight. I actually have the same goal of maintaining thru Wintertime into Spring (my goal). My own reason is bc i am very content at my current weight & i have more important goal (fitness-wise) which is to increase muscle. Basically, my weight is not the most important thing, as long as it's maintained & my goals have FINALLY, after over TEN YEARS, shifted from weightloss to finally weight maintanance.

i love to read what people it, but we'll still enjoy your presence here even if it's without listing your food! :)

Did you cook the chop suey? i love to order it an chinese restaurants! :) Full of cabbage and veggies.

also, the pumpkin bar! where's it from ? what brand?

you don't have to ever worry about listing foods and triggering anyone. but whatever you want is obviously ok with all of us here!

Hi Hop...The pupkin bar was nutrigrain...and the chop suey was made at home...no chinese restaurants around here.....just country cooking types...log cabin buildings...would love a chinese restaurant though..I miss those from down state.

I agree with Horn, I don't think you have to worry about posting your foods. In fact, even though I'm carb counting, I enjoy reading your menus.

I'm focusing on all things maintaining until the new year as well and would love a DD buddy (you) to come along for the ride...

Started the morning watching the  Kilchers having Thanksgiving around their homestead , interesting family.  Time to get the turkey out of the freezer.....I think it will be just us this year.....one son who is an assistant manager of a department store...will be working a double shift on Thanksgiving and Black friday...other son and daughter in law eat only organic ( both) and glutin free (her)....are getting harder and harder to cook for and they seem to rather just eat at home instead of taking the chance of making her sick.....and we are quite a distance apart anyway...so roads can be bad this time of year......got a letter from an aunt yesterday who is 90....she says there are 2 more cases of breast cancer in family now...one on chemo, one getting radiation.....sad.  brother in law getting chemo too...all 3 going to the same cancer treatment place currently.  2 in their 60's and one in her 40's.........Enjoy every day....and as my Mom said at my dads funeral...."enjoy them while you have them."  

Breakfast = 1 egg, 1 ounce ham, whole grain toast, coffee

Snack = mixed nuts, mini beef sticks, something called  chocolate leather...like fruit leather but chocolate...interesting     

Lunch = leftover lasagna

Evening = kashi bar and cheese and crackers


Progress as of today: 19.4 lbs lost so far, only 106 lbs to go!

Supposed to get into the 40's today....snow still on the ground here........after yesterdays day of sleeping...I'm finally caught up and raring to go today.....need to take these days when I get them and accomplish things.

Hearty breakfast of egg, ham and cheese scramble and fried potatoes with mocha coffee 

Snack = low blood sugar so had a little chocolate

Lunch = homemade lasagna

We are in the midst of a power outage right now...but we have a generac so it started itself up like a charm....reported it...1,200 homes out...and they don't know why...it's a beautiful clear sunny day here.........well their power back on time went by....and now the new time is 6:30....got into the sugar and turned into a pig....so

snack = candy and cookies....guess it's stress.........oh well

Do you put chocolate in your coffee? if so, you can add cocoa powder for VERY LITTLE CALORIES :)

I'll try to propose to you substitutes that would be lower cal :) unless you tell me not to! It's fun for me...

Our weather has been in 50's which is wonderful. Yesterday is was VERY windy things blowing EVERYHWERE, but it wasn't a struggle bc it was around 50, not like 30 degrees.

yes, thank you for the support, i'll be taking the class as soon as it is available. and i'll be continuing my exercise because it's major enjoyment.

i've been very injured in the past due to overdoing, so, i know that when i'm involved in too much, not sleeping enough, etc., it will inhibit the exercise.

So, i'll try to make it all work...

kudos to you doing so much when your kids were young. it'd have made me sick...you are a strong woman.

Sure...I would love to have you tell me of some substitutes....... When my kids were young I loved to have my days jam packed......and as the boys got older that is a big part of why we took foster children...we often had 3 in diapers and bottles at that time...and I LOVED IT! We had a twin stroller and I put one in a pack that I wore...and off we went. It's funny because when I was a kid playing with dolls...I always played with several baby dolls at a time...never just one...and I can say I really did not like my Barbie much at all......baby dolls were my thing...so the babies were better for me in multiples. So....A full day suited me then...now...I'm basically just worn out...LOL...could not do it now.

if i were to do it - i would use liquid stevia, it's calorie free. it's the extract from a plant and my preferred calorie-free sweetener. you can find it on amazon for around $12 a bottle that'll last over a month for sure. buy the alcohol free one, i can send you a link if you are interested.

i use stevia to sweeten both food and drinks. i love it. i sweeten my seltzers with it to make them taste like soda..much sweeter than a flavored seltzer, no sugar.

yes, the truvia is good. no cals.

Agave has cals, but is healthy.

i currently do also use honey, because it has lots of antioxidants and has dimished my allergy symptoms in the Springtime. so even tho there's some cals in honey, it's benefits outweigh the calorie "burden."

good also using truvia.

when you are done with the truvia, i have scoured Amazon to find the best Stevia product for the lowest price i could find.

In the summertime, where i lived growing up, the lightning (and thunderstorms) were a big problem causing a few outages each summer!

i hadn't heard of a shrimp burger either and that's why i ordered it. a friend had a massive gift certificate for dinner and many i think just ordered small items (there were 9 of us!)...the bill was practically paid for and we only owed $6 each. some ordered a bunch of things but drinks and some appetizers were ordered ahead of time. either way, for me it was a cheap meal ($10 beer and $6 meal). she had some kinda gift certificate both to the restaurant and also a discount on broadway show tickets.

anyways, the shrimp burger wasn't really a patty, well it looked like a patty though - but it was really just a bunch of shrimp like pushed into a patty and grilled. it tasted good but wasn't very unique. very healthy though!

 Lots of snow today...and it's piling up.....it's beautiful...makes everything so nice and clean looking......I'm having a sleepy unmotivated day.......I just want to close my eyes and sleep the day away.

snack = orange juice and 2 almond btter granola bars

Lunch baked potato, baked beans and ham

snack = cake in a cup

Dinner = tea, tuna salad and 6 crackers

evening = pop corn. annies gummies

  got on the scales this morning for the first time in a long time and was shocked.....Too much junk food lately for sure so I'm counting calories with fitday again...luckily I have their CD so it's easy....but man....it doesn't take me long to snap back to the old bad habits and put the pounds back on.  

It's like starting over again..

False alarm...it was the scales...they  have been weighing Denny heavy these last few days too.....now they died....so we got the old ones out and we are right where we thought we were...I coudn't figure out how my weight went up 17 pounds and I didn't feel it and my clothes still fit......well...it didn't...what a relief...so no calorie counting as long as I'm not gaining...I will keep doing what i'm doing. Don't know rather to try another new battery or toss them....hmmmm

Lunch = whole wheat roll with beef and mayo, grapefruit juice, almond butter bar and chocolate

I'm so glad that your scale was broken! How demoralizing and shocking it must have been to see those numbers. That reminds me of many years ago, when my family had one of those old-fashioned scales. I knew it conked out when it said I lost 30+ pounds overnight, going from around 120 (I was young) to 87 -- LOL!

If you want to lesson the calories on grapefruit juice, you can mix half the amount with seltzer or any of your diet drinks - i think you are the one who drinks the ... (i'm trying to remember the name of the drink)..oh ok, those "ICE" drinks. I think it's you who drinks them?

You must have been SO THANKFUL that it was the scale and not you!

Means that you are doing things right. Keep on. And if you want to make any more changes, and when you decide you want to lose more weight, simply make ONE SMALL CHANGE in your habits. Whether it's having an omelette with one less egg (i think you already only eat one egg - so that's not an option lol), or having one cookie instead of two, whatever it is - go for it, and the change will eventually help your weight loss.

That's for when and if you want to - but also, you are probably still learning to eat by intuition and without calorie counting, so if you are still learning these new things, you don't need to make any more changes yet, no matter how small :)

thanks for all the advice you've been giving me, i know i sound very lazy and i admit i have some kinda problem following thru with becoming actually good at any field i have worked in. it's because i didn't practice or put in enough effort. I'm better with active jobs, task oriented jobs...too bad i realized this really late in life, after injuries.

I'll for now have to settle with my job and hope to keep it. Signing up for the course my father wants me to take also. It's a LOT of commitments for this winter. I guess i'll learn to push thru, once again.

 Tearing into the food closet and setting up new sheving system....I think this is going to work beautifully..........finally there will be  a system and  I will be able to find things when i need them and it will also allow me to use u[p older things first.     Way too may past date cans and boxes in there...I'm not afraid to eat them...as long as they are not bulging or look different in some way......This is what we needed to prevent that from happening.

Breakfast = breakfast sandwich, coffee and grapefruit juice

Lunch= I'm planning to make a green salad, steak and pot stickers

Dinner will be yogurt and ?

I am sorta afraid when it comes to eating old things, sometimes i do throw out.

I just love pink grapefruit juice...I buy it by the case in 1 serving bottles....good source of vitamin c. Denny can't have it because of a trygliceride med he takes...so I need to drink the whole case myself.

 The rain finally stopped...they turned the overflow off at the dam......so maybe we can have some winter now......I'm ready.  waiting for fed Ex again today...aparently one box had it's label ripped...and they had to correct it..so second day of deliveries here......coming.in today ( hopefully) is a shelving storage unit for a closet...I'm looking forward to that.

Breakfast, 1 egg, ham, english muffin, cheese, coffee

snack = a few chewy candies aand a zero cal flavored water

Lunch = big green salad with ginger dressing, pickled beets, 1 mini pizza and a few leftover fries

 Dinner = yogurt, grapefruit juice, cookie and chocolate

Just got word that brother in law got his first chemo treatment and it went well....yesterday was a bummer for him though...his  port had been put in too deep and it went all the way through his ventricle ( heart)....they replaced it...and he was good to go today.  We just lost another brother in law to cancer last year.....this is getting to sound way to familiar.....a good frind's husband is fighting  it now too....my Dad died of it after being diagnosed only 5 weeks before.......cancer....UGH!!!

Pouring rain all night and apparently all day...i LOVE the rain...a little thunder would make me even happier...I am such a nester!!!!  Lotsof odds and ends to do today.......and waiting for a fed ex delivery......I'm sure the deer hunters aren't happy today.....

a.m. snack = granola bar

Lunch = hamburger and fries

 Snack = banana and almond  butter bar ( now these could get addicting)

Breakfast sounds great. I had a similar one: small wrap with cream cheese and salami. now just working on lessening my craving for candy this morning!...i was in a really bad habit, so i'm working to curb it...it started around my trips ... feeling i was constantly on the go i was craving carbs and sweets and sugar basically...getting back to reality now.

I hope you enjoy the day, i enjoy being home also and moving at my own pace.

WOW VERY NICE...super nice to make your food yourself. that's another thing i think i'll refocus on this year.

Really, if you want to know how i want to help myself - it's by using my time at home to learn to do more things for myself. I will learn a few easy things to make this year...like how to bake fish...and get used to making fish at home...so i can get off of making chicken and turkey burgers. !!!

i also want to make the mashed cauliflower this year. and cauliflower fried rice.

i am the biggest procrastinator....and now i finally have the time to work on cooking.

it's not a job that i should be concerned with as much as cooking and doing things at home for myself at this time :)

 Going to venture out into the wild today....hope the ice is off the roads.............I'm getting cabin fever a bit...not really seriously...but a bit.  

Breakfast = coffee, egg, toast, bacon

Lunch = hamburger and fries and a pure organic bar

snack = chocolate

Dinner = banana, chicken and nudles alfredo, coffee ( decaf)

Went shopping and the car didn't seem to lock..it even beeped at me.....went  into store...and came out and put things in back of car....opened drivers door and realized why it wouldn't lock before...I had never turned it  off!!!!   OMG........This car doesn't start with a key...and you push a button to turn it off....apparently it was unlocked and running for the whole time I was in the store...it is so quiet...and the steering wheel is so thick that it blocks my view of the start/stop button.  I'm considering myself very lucky to still have a car this afternoon!   Then I get home and the garage door opener won't open the door more than a foot......3rd try was a charm........I'm thinking I either need to get out more...or maybe they should just lock me up.....

I'm really glad you are heading out....good to take a break from being indoors :) I even try to take my hamster out of it's cage most days...bc they can actually get sick by never giving them a change of scenery :) enjoy your change of scenery...let us know what you ended up doing today.

OMG you are lucky indeed! I hate those push button starts. I rented a car in OK with one and I misplaced the FOB you needed to have to even get it to start. I looked for that thing for two days. Finally when i was packing to leave, I found it in a pair of shoes I wore to the wedding I went to. I was feeling very lucky that day, or else I couldn't have returned that stupid rental car!

I am waiting for it to snow, we might get a measurable amount over the weekend.
