Up early as usual.......The house needs a good cleaning today......I ordered a roomba robot vaccuum and it came the other day...I LOVE IT!!!!  I had been wanting a pet....BUT...I think the roomba will make a great pet....LOL...... ...it's perfect.....it doesn't make a mess...( it cleans messes up)...I don't have to feed it....it goes back to it's charging dock all by it's self.  I tell it what to do...and it does it!   It behaves a lot better than my husband!!!!!  So I'm hoping I'm over the pet thing...for years we had cats, dogs, hampsters, guinnea pigs,a rabbit, a ground hog, birds and fish...a robot that cleans sounds like a dream come true now!  Now they just need to make a bathroom cleaning robot and a dishwasher that empties and refills itself and I will be all set.

Breakfast = oatmeal and whole grain toast with butter and coffee

This right now...Happy Halloween?

Lunch = cheese burger on a sandwich thin, organic blueberry bar and a handful of mini crackers with peanut butter

Dinner = baked chicken wings with nutritional yeast, knorrs butter noodles, fresh tomatoes

Progress as of today: 15.4 lbs lost so far, only 110 lbs to go!

innerpeace on 10/31/2017:
Roomba...sounds fantastic!! I love the snow and due to recent events I wish it would rain and hail where I am.

Lunch sounds great. Have a good day.

BearCountryGG on 10/31/2017:
Roomba is amazing...where has that been all of my life? For your sake I hope you get all kinds of crazy weather too....you could always turn your lights out and sit in the dark!

Oh….you had all the pets I have ever wanted! Wow! I was debating a guinea pig later…but no…and now that I’m applying for NYPD I am noticing how my time is very limited. Getting a dog could NEVER work right now. Anyways, I do love my hamster. I hold him usually in the morning and night when he is sleeping. It’s very relaxing to massage the hamster in my hand while I drink my morning drink or after I eat dinner. It’s soothing and I time to let my mind relax. Sometimes I also search / read / do things on the web with the hamster in one hand. And I also watch the news. It’s just a good time for me – to rest…but also have something alive in my hand. Did you ever feel this way too?

Your robot vacuum sounds cool – I am glad it works so well for you! What a great buy! I don’t think I am daring enough to want one! Also, I do not need it – too small an apartment to spend such money. Not enough carpets either do need more than my own strength to vacuum!

Thanks for your kind words yesterday. I’m starting to get nervous about what to write here. My worst fear right now is anything going wrong with any part of the process or after I would hopefully get in. It would be so so so upsetting. I may not write to much more about it other than a few words here and there. I am nervous for it to go well, as you can imagine.

Happy Halloween, dinner sounds perfecto! As does your breakfast! And lunch. Good eating today…I like seeing your fresh veggies and all food groups. Nicely done lady!

BearCountryGG on 11/01/2017:
I loved napping with the cats....they were super snuggly. Share only what you want to...we all wish you well and want you to be comfortable.

Shopping day...and possibility of snow....so I'm getting an early start with a gigantic breakfast......should keep me full most of the day if history repeats itself.

Breakfast = 2 egg omelet with ham, peppers, cheese and salsa and a piece of whole grain toast with butter and jam and coffee......covered all of the food groups with this one.

Lunchr = beef, whole grain bread, mayo, tomato, ice cream, a few peanuts

Dinner = whole wheat spaghetti, tomato sauce and meatballs

Bad news today though....brother in law has lymphoma ( cancer of the lymph glands)...that's 3 family members diagnosed and or surgery for cancer in the last 2 weeks and then a funeral......all cancer.

It rained here today...and about 4 o clock the most gigantic snowflakes came down for about 2 minutes and they were the size of tennis balls...then it went back to rain....weird

I hope you found what you wanted to shopping!?

where'd you go!? what'd you get!?

Breakfast sounds amazing, even if i'm eating to being really full i run into hunger / low blood sugar later...sucks!

your food sounds all GREAT!

BearCountryGG on 10/30/2017:
Just got the perishables.....had 3 solid meals with no desire to snack today...even though I made up several bags of things for Denny to take to 1 son today.....he was taking him our past snow tires so I loaded him down with groceries out of our pantry too....and I never had any desire to snack...so 3 solid meals do take away my snacking....no low sugar problems today thankfully...

Horn_of_plenty on 10/30/2017:
Whole wheat spaghetti with all its fiber must be nice and filling! sounds good. I keep wanting to make all the grains i bought...i'll have to do this ! boxes of nice grains sit in my cupboard waiting to be cooked! and instead i'm always buying prepared food! LOL

that's great you ate some healthy things! it's good to bring snacks in case!

have a good eve!

Back at home again and ready to settle in again............it's feeling like winter...some areas in Michigan have already had snow..........feels like it's time......tomorrow will be grocery shopping day....I'm not getting the flu shot anymore if I can help it since my Mom died just a few hours after getting hers...I didn't get the shots for years...then while working in a drs office they were manditory....then after that...I stopped again until I spent 7 years caring for my Mom and her dr insisted she get them so I got them for 7 years with her until her death, and none since.......so basically I just try to cut my exposure....anyway...I get pneumonia more often then colds or flu.

Breakfast = coffee, banana, whole grain toast w/butter, 1 egg, 2ounces ham

snack= hummus chips ( 1 mini bag)

Lunch = whole wheat spaghetti with sauce and meatballs, and ice cream cone

Dinner = chicken salad, 6 crackers, hot cheetos mini bag, nutrigrain lemon cake square, and a glutino thing

Hello there BCGG :--)

Sorry I am not as active responding on the weekend – I admit that this site is much easier for me to be active on during the weekdays when I’m sitting practically handcuffed to my desk from 8am-5pm hahaa, just kidding, but I admit it’s easier for me to comment during the workdays. …so please don’t take offense to my lack of commenting on the weekend.

If you research the flu vaccine, you’ll find all types of literature saying that it’s not even proving that getting the flu vaccine is advantageous because many times it’s not even the right strain that they give you – bc the flu virus is ever changing, it’s hard to predict (I think) which exact vaccine they even need to issue to patients! So I do not blame you for skipping it.

With the flu, it seems also that if you keep yourself healthy and rest and do things right, that I would believe that’s good enough to safeguard yourself from getting the flu. I rarely get sick when I’m taking care of myself. Mostly this means getting enough sleep! – for me.

horn_of_plenty on 10/30/2017:
Oh, it's not that cold here...we actually had more like one more tropical type storm here in NYC. Very rainy and windy yesterday into today!

Our snow typically comes at the end of December. Wishing you warmth!

Downpours all night and so far all today...they have knocked so many of the beautiful colored leaves from the trees......since we have trees right up to within a few feet from the house ( we do not have any grass)...the ferns are now brown and the leaves are mostly on the ground...it's in the 50's today and it's fall.  Today is also the 3 year anniversary of my Moms passing and our great grandson Justins 5th birthday...kind of a melancholy day.

Breakfast = Jimmy deans light breakfast sandwich and coffee

Lunch = peanut butter sandwich and possibly something else....like fruit

Dinner will be pork chops, garden salad and red beans with rice...

horn_of_plenty on 10/24/2017:
Hello BCGG :-P

We are also having strong winds & downpours last night & today! Our leaves though haven’t changed color yet or even upstate two hours which I think they usually are at this time – because the weather has stayed primarily warm and has consistently been at least 10 degrees above typical temps for this season! Lol…I feel like a weather forecaster…We have had like maybe 2-3 days this season in the 50’s last week only so far and mostly in the 70’s still!

Happy 5th bday to your grandson and so sorry about your mom…she would I know wish for you to be happy on the occasion of your great grandchild :-P

I’ve seen the Jimmy Dean sandwiches – they are good calories. Just high in salt. But if you drink a lot of water throughout the day I am sure that would counteract a bit of the sodium. Great awesome calories – I believe they may not even be 300 cal a sandwich? Anything under 400 anyways is good…and 350 cal or less I’d say is optimal….so then you can have coffee and / or even add vegetables like tomato slices to the sandwich to make it more filling…

Lunch sounds to hit the spot. I don’t do well with that kind of lunch bc it’s small volume and I end up getting hungry soon after bc low volume…but your lunch sounds tasty…by low volume I mean it doesn’t have vegetables to actually stuff my stomach with..especially at work where I am so bored…I am finding myself getting hungrier faster and faster in the mornings just due to boredom – now working today to eat at 1pm not noon. Every time I eat early, I get hungrier and hungrier early afterwards…it’s best I hold off…or it limits me in the evening…

Your dinner sounds tasty too..everything on your menu sounds tasty…nice to see you have the salad at dinner, good girl

If you like cooked veggies, you can actually include them in breakfast as a side ;)…also a nice seltzer would go nice with the pb sandwich!

horn_of_plenty on 10/23/2017:
I commented below also :)

Excellent, filling breakfast. Good it doesn't have fruit - fruit will just spike your blood sugar...

chilli and chips sounds good...i think fruit better than gummies? but if you like them, enjoy in moderation! yes! lately i am enjoying snacks more :) like fries :) so good.

BearCountryGG on 10/23/2017:
Actually I continually need to spike my blood sugar....LOL...a day without sugar us usually a dangerously low blood sugar day for me. I have so much stuff around here we have been working on using up....I will be glad when it's all gone...and It will take awhile unfortunately.

innerpeace on 10/23/2017:
What is a deliege wafel? We are supposed to get that rain today sometime.

BearCountryGG on 10/23/2017:
The deliege wafels...OMG...they should be illegal...I ordered them from BOXED.COM....they are individually wrapped sugar coated pieces of waffle heaven.....or He!! depending on how you look at it. High calories, but can work for a smallish breakfast with a cup of coffee or tea....me......I haven't been that disciplined with them...thankfully they are almost gone and I can never order them again.....it's a crime how you can go on the computer and push a few buttons and they arrive at your door 2 days later....nuff said...LOL

Trying something new today...I'm starting the day with a really big healthy meal...and eating less and less as the day goes on..........also going down the basement today to bring up all of the small exercise equipt ( got rid of all of the big things in the downsizing move)...some is up here...but not all.

Breakfast = ham and red pepper omelet with salsa, 1 slice 15 grain bread and butter with 2 cups coffee = 692 calories

Lunch= strawberries and blueberries and a little bit of dessert

I would be interested to hear if this works for you or not. In theory, it sounds like a great idea, especially if you are a breakfast person... although your first meal not be a traditional breakfast. One time, I had squash for breakfast, just because at the time, it sounded good to me. And it was delicious!

Like yourself, I gotta start planning for exercising during the winter months (i.e. cold and dark). With this month pretty much consumed by back problems, I'm hoping to resume some kind of toning/training program in November.

BearCountryGG on 10/21/2017:
Donkey...it's actually working great...I'm not hungry even now at 4 o clock...ate some berries and a tiny amt of dessert at luch time...but didn't really need to......the breakfast was protein, veg and grain heavy...so I figure I covered many of the food groups...and it has kept me full and satisfied...I'm not sure if I will eat anymore tonight...

Up early and planning to make a lasagna for dinner since I see the whole wheat lasagana noodles have a best by date of 2 months ago....gotta get those cooked...I've been having a lot of hip pain and I'm turning into a rocking chair potato ( not a couch person)...and for many years I have crossed my left leg under my right leg when I sit down...bad habit   DO NOT DO THIS ALL OF YOU YOUNG PEOPLE!!!!   You will suffer when you get old! Old joints don't like the abuse we cause them when we were young!  Denny will be having a knee replacement in the future ( actually it was scheduled but he got shingles and they cancelled the surgery and it hasn't been rescheduled)..........that is what being a carpenter did for him..  Don't abuse your joints....or they will abuse you when you get old.  Anyway.........I'm getting  too  lazy ...so I'm pumping up with some tylenol and I'm going to aim to stay on my feet all day....there is   plenyty to do around here that I have been putting off...I swear....I can put it off yet it stays on my mind for days or weeks...and when I finally do it...it only takes 5 minutes and I wonder why I ever put it off at all.......so today should be interesting and painful.

Breakfast = coffee and homemade breakfast sandwich

Lunch = cauliflower mash, smoked sausage with peppers and onions

Dinner = will be lasagna, carrots, berries

Progress as of today: 14 lbs lost so far, only 111.4 lbs to go!

innerpeace on 10/19/2017:
Hope you feel better! I have back issues from jumping out of airplanes in the military. I had some brutal landings.

BearCountryGG on 10/19/2017:
Oh my......I can't even imagine.

horn_of_plenty on 10/19/2017:

I cross my legs constantly. I wonder if it’s really that bad. Sometimes it feels like a good stretch I got going on when I cross my legs..i even wrap my ankle around the back of my leg like a really tight pretzel…that is a good stretch. Whenever I do it a lot, I feel good. When I don’t do it enough, I become less flexible and my ability to sit like a pretzel needs work again lol…yes, really, I do this at work!

I totally know what you mean with putting things off – I am the same way. I know the things have to be done…and I think I have to do them…and takes me sometimes a ton of time passes before it actually gets done. Except of course these NYPD applications – those were completed after my lunch & emailed back already. I’m inspired for the next step in the process….back to you now!....

What does your breakfast sandwich consist of? English muffins are good to make sandwiches on bc they are small / low calorie. Also good are wraps that are 100 cal or under – or even I guess up to 150 cal. But anything more is too much at once…

Cauliflower mash sounds AWESOME! I really need to cook MORE!

Lastly, dinner sounds wonderful. We’re all eating lasagna lately..i had some Tuesday night as a matter of fact…and also included a salad with it! Otherwise, it really isn’t that filling!

BearCountryGG on 10/19/2017:
Breakfast sandwiches are eng muffing, 1 egg and either ham or 2 slices bacon...sometimes cheese and sometimes butter. The way I messed up my hip isn'tby crossing my legs exactly...I take my left leg and almost sit on it...and my right leg goes over my left foot...basically I've turned my hip joint and left foot into a weird direction...I got away with it when I was younger...and I'm paying the price now....I can't cross my legs like you do now...I'm too fat...LOL...I could do it when I was thinner....

Donkey on 10/19/2017:
I can confirm what you say about crossing your legs. I'm 47 and it's really starting to cause me problems with my back, hip and right knee.

I was sorry to hear that WW Online didn't work out, but no sense paying for something that's not going to work, i.e. their website.

Keep logging in your meals -- I think you'll find that this may help you make better choices.

When do I have to start worrying for you again re: jury duty? Trying to schedule my worries, in advance, LOL....

BearCountryGG on 10/19/2017:
Yup....Schedule the next jury duty for November 8th.........I'm sorry you are running into the joint problems too..it's funny that when I was young the thought of pain because of the way I sat in a chair then would affect me years later was not even on my radar...BUT...the reality has finally hit home...Putting my eating online here does help...I often think first before eating something because I don't want to admit it here...LOL

legcramps on 10/20/2017:
Darn, got my right leg under my butt as i'm reading this and it's like you can see me through the monitor :) :) :)

BearCountryGG on 10/21/2017:
OH NO....Get that outta there!!!
