Cassie2020 - Thursday Feb 11, 2021
(Calorie Tracking)
Weight: 128.2

Not counting calories today or working out. I went to work but came home early due to  not feeling well. I feel like I'm gaining weight, but that's my fault. Since the Superbowl, i havent been tracking my food all that well.

Progress as of today: 1.8 lbs lost so far, only 13.2 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 02/11/2021:
Hope you feel better.

Jacky82020 on 02/11/2021:
Great workout you posted the other day. So you do all that at a gym? Think the local ones here in Pennsylvania can open to 25% capacity. Always changing, so I am not certain. They were shut down completely for a while.

I am terrible at counting calories, but tend to eat the same things & can keep a running tally in my head.

Cassie2020 on 02/11/2021:
I’m not really sure what the gyms are doing in California. I quit a gym because it changed to being only outside. Wear masks all the time indoors. Now they open for indoor training too. The ones i go to currently just really want you to wipe down equipment. No one wears masks. It’s as if it was a normal day before all this. I pretty much wear a mask everywhere, but the gym I go to currently.

Cassie2020 on 02/11/2021:
The gym is like my second home.

Jacky82020 on 02/11/2021:
I find the bar graph and progress bar (looks like a speedometer) very useful. See you don’t have either. Also seems you don’t have a bio. You can leave it blank & not complete fields, which is what I’ve done.

Once you get to the bio page, there’s a + sign at the upper right. If you click that, you can enter a goal & starting weights. I think that’s what triggers the 2 graphs.

If you delete ALL entries for a given month, the bar disappears forever for that month. I lost my early bars inadvertently that way.

Cassie2020 on 02/11/2021:
Thanks I didn’t realize I had this. I will write my bio soon.

Jacky82020 on 02/11/2021:
I found some of the questions silly and blocked them. You’ll see what I mean. Lol

Jacky82020 on 02/11/2021:
Ok. Didn’t you say you’re in the Sacramento area? Lived in multiple California locations, but never that far north.

Cassie2020 on 02/11/2021:
Yes

Cassie2020 on 02/11/2021:
Sacramento area is me keeping where I live vague.

Jacky82020 on 02/11/2021:
You did it! Nice bio. I think the graphs are fun.

I too have lost and regained the same 5-20 pds many times. Sucks, but beats gaining and gaining the weight.

Cassie2020 on 02/11/2021:
Absolutely I’m glad that I’m not gaining and gaining.

Jacky82020 on 02/11/2021:
Lucky for me my gym is in my home. The husband is really into it & assembled an impressive gym. We have carted it from Northern California to Southern California to multiple locations on the east coast.

Cassie2020 on 02/11/2021:
That’s awesome! I wish I could build a home gym. That’s one of my future goals.

Jacky82020 on 02/11/2021:
I posted a bunch of pics the other day of our gym. That bodybuilder chick is a joke, not me.

Jacky82020 on 02/11/2021:
You are doing heavier weights than me. I kinda fell off the wagon, but back at it.

Horn_of_plenty on 02/11/2021:
ohhh remodeling a kitchen is huge and difficult! i remember my parents did mine and sent me to school everyday early so i could eat breakfast at school during that time!!! :) haha.

i hope you feel better soon :)

seems like you know a LOT about health and fitness!

Cassie2020 on 02/11/2021:
I have two certifications as a personal trainer, but I’m trying to decide if I should let them lapse or not or keep up the schooling for fun. I worked at a gym for a short period of time and all they wanted me to do was sell supplements. I was so discouraged that It killed my dream. I know that you don’t need supplements to lose weight. Plus it was really hard to get clients when you’re really shy like me in social situations.

Donkey on 02/12/2021:
I hope you feel better!!!

When I got my loan originator license, I vowed that I would never let it lapse because I worked too hard to pass the test.

However, the last few years, I've been saying, to anyone who would listen, This is the last year I'm taking this continuing education! But then I go ahead and sign up for the class. Lol.

legcramps on 02/12/2021:
Feel Better!

horn_of_plenty on 02/12/2021:
oh wow...see!?...i totally guessed based on how you wrote out your workouts and your comments back to me that you had a lot of knowledge...and now i know you do based on those certifications, etc!

yeah, unless i had more money, i also prefer not to spend my money on supps ..there's a gummy vitamin, elderberry, i'm currently taking but it's bc it tastes good, LOL. currently taking nothing for working out...and i generally don't like to drink protein shakes...i like chewable calories / good...LOL.

you don't sound shy...you have a lot of knowedge to share...

Cassie2020 on 02/12/2021:
It’s different in person vs the internet. Lol

Maria7 on 02/12/2021:
Get some rest. Hope you feel better.

Cassie2020 on 02/12/2021:
Thanks I feel much better today

I really admire your work at the gym! That is awesome! And it makes me want to return to my gym, which I will in due time.

legcramps on 02/09/2021:
Love the workout, I really enjoy face pulls!

horn_of_plenty on 02/09/2021:
your foods sound so tasty...are you vegetarian? i see no protein, not much anyways...

protein may help you, but your choices are very tasty and i love the bagel with tomato soup! you've made me crave tomato soup!

and your workouts are quite well written out, and i'm sure you do them well, too! :)

like donkey said, nice you have the gym and stay safe there!

Cassie2020 on 02/11/2021:
I have trouble getting my protein in right now. I used to eat a lot of “turkey, rice and broccoli” or chicken rice and broccoli. Even protein shakes but right now I'm eating a lot of pre packaged meals because of a kitchen renovation. I don't feel like cooking right now.

Cassie2020 on 02/11/2021:
I know that for my training purposes I should be getting at least 115 grams of protein a day.

Maria7 on 02/10/2021:
Hope you are having a good day.

Weight: 129.2

 Hi everyone,

Today I went to work, tried to stick to my diet. I helped a co worker out, as a reward she hands me a giant muffin. I am just thinking...what do I do. I don't want to be rude and tell her no thanks. I ended up just taking it and stuffing it in my lunch box. It sat there until I got home. Did I eat it, omg I caved. I initially gave it to my boyfriend and he said no thanks. I just ate it wishing that he took it from me. For those wondering it was cinnamon coffee cake.

Nutrition
Breakfast- Oatmeal with fruit

Lunch- Salad

Dinner- Muffin

snack: Icelandic vanilla yogurt and a banana

and nibbled on my boyfriend's Thai food.

As of my fitness,

I went to the gym, worked on chest and triceps.

Chest press 3x12 (not sure how much weight)

Tricep kickbacks 3x12@ 20lbs dumbells

Single arm cable chest press 3x12@20 lbs

Tricep pressdown 3x15@40lbs

Cable chest fly 3x12@30lbs

Rope Tricep extensions 3x15@30lbs

Pecdec machine 3x15@30lbs

Tricep extensions dumbbell 3x12@15lbs

Chest fly 3x15@10lbs

Cardio/ extras

30 min stairmill

30 min (2mile) walk

30 min Yoga (for hip stretching)

Progress as of today: 0.8 lbs lost so far, only 14.2 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 02/05/2021:
Great workout!

Donkey on 02/05/2021:
Seems to me that you balanced the muffin out with the rest of your calories, to minimize any potential "damage".

I second that: Great workout! That will help too!

PS Sometimes, like when the Boss brings in donuts, I'll take one, MAYBE cut off one bite, and then throw the rest away. One time, I wrapped up the pastry and brought it home to freeze for later, after I reach my goal. I think it's still in the freezer, probably no good by now.

Jacky82020 on 02/05/2021:
Used to buy big muffins at Costco until I realized they were close to 500 calories each. Dang, they were so good! Terrific workout!

Horn_of_plenty on 02/07/2021:
i'd have caved if i brought the muffin home...in future, you can trash it at a trash can on the way out the door of work, or later on the way home? or if that doesn't work, cut in half and freeze the other half to either eat later or throw out later and try bringing only half the muffin home...

try to lessen the muffin....do something to make less of it....

you do not have to avoid things completely, just eat them in smaller portions.

have a decaf coffee, or reg, or tea with the muffin to fill you completely.

Cassie2020 on 02/08/2021:
Great idea

horn_of_plenty on 02/08/2021:
I LOVE THAI FOOD!

Hi everyone. I was really busy today so I didn't get to lift weights as planned or do my cardio. All I really got to do was go on a 20 min walk around the block. At least it was something. I am declaring today a rest day and continuing my scheduled "chest and triceps"workout tomorrow. Also my walking shoes came in, they are so comfy.

Have a great night everyone!

Progress as of today: 0.8 lbs lost so far, only 14.2 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 02/04/2021:
At least you got a walk in!

Jacky82020 on 02/04/2021:
Nice you have good shoes. The husband runs and thinks proper shoes are very important. He is faithful to a certain Nike and wears out a pair a a year. He gets new ones online at greatly discounted prices & they are always the ugliest colors & patterns you ever saw. No idea why Nike made them in the first place.

Donkey on 02/04/2021:
Nothing like the joy of putting on a new pair of shoes!!!!!

Weight: 130.2

About 2 hours ago I completed a 4mile walk. I almost did not go at all, due to it raining. It wasn't a downpour but a drizzle. I'm so glad that my boyfriend went with me, or I definitely wouldn't have gone.

After that I ate a salad, and then did a little bit of meditating. Now I am going to watch a bunch of movies then read.

Eat less, move more. That's the key to weight loss. Find something that is fun to keep yourself on track.  I generally track my food intake in MyFitnessPal, I just have to make sure I focus on my protein because I don't want to get too little. I don't want to lose the muscles I do have.

Progress as of today: -0.2 lbs lost so far, only 15.2 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 02/02/2021:
That'sa long walk in the rain....must not be to cold by you....

Cassie2020 on 02/02/2021:
I was wearing a warm rainproof jacket.

Cassie2020 on 02/02/2021:
It’s 54 degrees.

Jacky82020 on 02/02/2021:
I recently learned muscle loss from weight loss is a popular myth and not true unless one has maybe 4% body fat which is highly unusual, even in elite athletes. Glad to hear this. Google & you shall see. But get to the right places.

Walk sounds fantastic! What part of California do you live in? I’ve lived in SF, Santa Cruz and San Diego.

Cassie2020 on 02/02/2021:
Sacramento area

Jacky82020 on 02/02/2021:
I’ve been there! Only for visits,

Donkey on 02/02/2021:
The gyms in Illinois are open too, but I believe you have to wear a mask the entire time. It used to be that you'd have to wear a mask until you got to your cardio machine. Then you could take off your mask while doing cardio. Unfortunately, not enough people were following this protocol, and the COVID numbers went up. That's when the rules changed to wear masks all the time. It's hard to do cardio with a mask on.

Also, most of the folks at the weights didn't wear masks either. I didn't go over to that section much. I'm still waiting to go to the gym with my daughter so that she can show me how to use some of the machines.

Horn_of_plenty on 02/02/2021:
nice job getting out. a long while ago, when i was a decade or more younger, i wouldn't have gone out in drizzle either....now i get out whenever i possibly can and i'm able to for a walk!

Maria7 on 02/03/2021:

Good morning! I hope everyone has a great day. Crush your goals rain or shine. I know I will. It's currently raining.

I am heading to the gym at 4am. It's my leg day, I'm going to work on squats, deadlifts, and hip thrusts.

Progress as of today: -0.2 lbs lost so far, only 15.2 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 02/02/2021:
Have a great day! You are ambitious. And I used to pat myself on the back leaving for the gym at 7:30! I really miss the gym!

Cassie2020 on 02/02/2021:
I am used to waking up extremely early. I normally have work at 3am and am up for the day at 1am. Creature of habit of waking early on my days off too.

bearcountrygg on 02/02/2021:
Sounds like a good start to your day!

Jacky82020 on 02/02/2021:
You’re off to a great start! Congrats!

Cassie2020 on 02/02/2021:
Hello! Welcome I have been on here for a few days and it’s definitely helpful.

Donkey on 02/02/2021:
PLEASE keep posting about your weight training. Even if it's just "did weights today" - it's so inspiring and motivating for someone like me, who doesn't like do weights, to hear about other people doing them and feeling great about it.

Cassie2020 on 02/02/2021:
Okie dokie I will do so! It helps me too.

horn_of_plenty on 02/02/2021:
That’s great your gym is open and you can get there !!! Where are you located ?!

Cassie2020 on 02/02/2021:
I’m in California. Both gyms I go to are open. They are not big box gyms, one is open at 4am. The other is 24 hrs. I quit my old gym because I did not want to workout outside in the cold. Now I don’t have to.

I made it back from my workout ,and I did way more than what I wrote in my previous post. I also got a PR on my rack pull. I did 145lbs rack pull for 1 set of 2. I'm proud of myself. Tomorrow is my leg day. I also realized I wasn't overly hungry today, just satisfied.

Progress as of today: -2.5 lbs lost so far, only 17.5 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 02/01/2021:
Love those days where food just doesn't seem important!

Donkey on 02/02/2021:
Way to go!!! It's good to challenge oneself with weights! (So why do I hate it so much, LOL...)

Cassie2020 on 02/03/2021:
I love lifting weights. I hate doing cardio, but both are much needed.

Cassie2020 - Monday Feb 01, 2021

Weight: 132.5

I have been up since 11pm since I had signed up for a few hours of work. Work was at 1am. Even though technically it is my day off. At 6:30am I went for a 3.5 mile walk for an hour. Then I plan on going to the gym to get my strength training in at 1pm. A nap will eventually have to happen or drink some coffee. I went to Trader Joe's and got my groceries for a few days worth of lunches and dinner. Normally for breakfast I eat oatmeal with pears, dates and a little bit of peanut butter powder. It normally is the same everyday unless I just really get tired of it.

At the gym my workout today will be:

3x15 Lat pulldown

3x15 v grip row

3x15 straight bar bicep curls

3x15 straight arm lat pulldown

3x15 face pull (back focus)

3x15 bicep curls (dumbbells)

3x8 barbell row

3x8 rack pull

I generally do a lot of volume for my workouts it's nothing new to me. I just have to get in the habit of warming up and stretching,so I don't hurt myself.

Progress as of today: -2.5 lbs lost so far, only 17.5 lbs to go!

Jacky82020 on 02/01/2021:
Great workout!

Cassie2020 on 02/01/2021:

Hi everyone. Today I went for a four and a half mile walk.it could have been longer but my feet were hurting. (I Wore worn down shoes). Then right after I did yoga for a half hour. I still haven't fixed my diet just yet but one thing at a time. More exercising is what I generally love to do, but I haven't felt motivated. Now I am slowly trying to get my motivation back.

Progress as of today: -2.5 lbs lost so far, only 17.5 lbs to go!

Jacky82020 on 01/31/2021:
Wow! That’s a long walk. Good for you. My feet hurt too after hours on a stationary bike. Haven’t walked outside for a while. Snowy, icy and freezing.

Cassie2020 on 02/01/2021:
Oh yeah I would not want to walk outside in the snow. I’m not made for it. I really can’t wait until it is spring and summer in California.

grannyannie on 02/01/2021:
Good walk! Do you have trails to walk on, or do you walk in a town?

Cassie2020 on 02/01/2021:
In town, but there are trails nearby too.

horn_of_plenty on 02/01/2021:
That’s great exercise !!! I haven’t done an over 3 mi walk in a long time! Good shoes are a must when walking !!

grannyannie on 02/01/2021:
I haven't done a walk since summer - it was 4 miles. Met a friend at sidewalk cafe.

Cassie2020 on 02/01/2021:
Summer is the best time to go walking.

Donkey on 02/01/2021:
That's a great walk! Please do be careful with your feet and choosing proper footwear. I gave myself plantar fasciitis in my right foot due to wearing poor shoes and improper form.

Cassie2020 on 02/01/2021:
I just recently bought some new shoes, just waiting for them to arrive. I would hate to develop plantar fasciitis...I am normally on my feet for hours a day. Thank you for the tip though.

Jacky82020 on 02/01/2021:
I did indeed walk outdoors when I lived in California. Grew up in Northern California & later moved to San Diego for jobs. Then to the east coast.

bearcountrygg on 02/01/2021:
That is a long walk......Too much snow here for me to walk too far...so looking forward to spring this year.
