Well, on the family drama  - there are two sides to every story - I did blow a fuse with my daughter and she shared her side of the story.  Apparently, my son was grilling them on the 'sanctity of marriage' and 'being sinful' and 'getting her act together' - she said they felt very unwelcome.  She said she even said 'can we just be siblings and love each other? and he said 'let's sleep on it' - UGG  Honeslty, as my husband says - we were not there and we cannot imagine the tone and the atmosphere, but I have to trust that it was best for my daughter to leave and best for my son to not continue to lecture them (he can be pretty judgy')

In the end  - my daughter sent him  a very nice message with sincere apology and honesty and my son seemed to think that was a good step on the road to healing.  After thinking about it I think that my son just didn't realize his baby sister grew up since he has been gone.  He has been married 6 years and he is 6 years older than her (Yes I had 4 kids in 6 years - crazy but fun when they were little)

All in all - they will resolve their issues as they see fit and I am honestly okay with the way things are now.  At least they are trying.

I am so excited today - in 30 min I see the bariatric dr to discuss my case.  I have no clue how they are going to help me, but my family doc said they are really good at working with weight issues and highly recommended them.  I know there is no magic pill - but maybe they will say just the right thing to get me motivated.

My husband just put on a shirt today and said 'Wow look how big this is on me - I keep losing weight"  Innocent statement but made me feel like a fat slob!!  I have to get out of this mood and get moving!!

I have been drinnking my apple cider vinegar and lemon water every day - that helps a lot (curbs appetite and good for you)

Anyway - I am off to the dr.

Progress as of today: 1.6 lbs lost so far, only 8 lbs to go!

The nurse noticed a man in golf attire pacing up and down outside the emergency room where another golfer, who had a golf ball driven down his throat, was being treated by a doctor.

"Is he a relative of yours?" the nurse, stepping outside the room, asked the pacing golfer.

"No," replied the man. "It's my ball."

Wow, I can't believe 10 days have gone by since my last post.  I have been super busy with the last week of school, our school's graduation (which even Elementary teachers have to attend) , end of year meetings and finializing my personal days (I had 4 left so I am oficially off for the next 4 days and then it is oficially summer.  My husband and I leave for the beach soon.  But the beach is not going to be much fun for me this year due to my skin cancer.  I know I can lather up the sun screen (I bought 85% off Amazon) but my whole goal of going to the beach is to get tan!!  GUess I'll have to be in the indoor pool.  Decided I will take my waist floatie along and my aqua i pod and aqua jog for as much as I can during the day and then in the evenings - walk the beach with a light jackent and capris (knees permitting) Also want to do some Kyaking.

Also dealing with some famiily drama - my oldest son (in Italy) is hosting my youngest daughter and her boyfriend for 10 days.  Only problem:  son , who is very excited to give them tour and took off work and made reservations for sight seeing etc. only to find out that his sister and boyfriend feel 'too controled' and they want to go travel all alone!!  I'm pissed, mostly b/c my son sincerely loves his sister and can't believe she is acting like this is a 'honeymoon' and not a visit.  Granted she is only just 21 - she spent 2 years away at college and probably feels very 'grown up' - but the truth is she is selfish and ungrateful.  Last I heard my son is planning on taking them to the train and letting them go on thier way!  Fools!!  Sorry if I sound harsh - I am just really caught off guard by this and can't help but want to say to her - 'Ok you are grown, pack your things and you are on your way!! "  grrrr  How can she be so blind - her brother , her nephew - uggg.

OK - let me think about my cute kitty Oliver who brings me such joy that I am afraid to leave him for the beach LOL  I know he will be fine as my neighbor will let him in and out but still - he is going to be confused.  he loves being where people are.  Just yesterday Alan and I were on the deck and he clawed at the door to go out and sat with us.  Then about 30 min later we went in and guess who was behind us?  So spoiled!!

Cute Joke Mom :-)....now to comment on your entry! I love your shorter jokes, as i have the worst attention span! haha...

Horn_of_plenty on 06/12/2016:
I am sorry you had skin cancer. Do you have it now? What type and where? I'm sorry, again. I have very fair skin. got a HORRIBLE burn recently because i didn't apply the sunscreen well. I was not paying attention - too tired from the night before and just totally being careless. There's still a burn on my leg, although it's gotten far better, since Memorial Day weekend! It should be almost healed by next weekend, Father's Day weekend...I told my parents i'd go with them to the beach that weekend if they wanted (but in all honesty, i'd be ok going to the beach 1st time July 4th weekend, haha)...

maybe talk your daughter into spending half the time inclusive with her brother showing them around. I agree with you about this whole scenario, for sure.

I would say your kitty is loved, not spoiled ;)

A kid gave his teacher a blank piece of paper.

Teacher: "What is this?"

Kid: "It's a drawing of a cow eating grass."

"Where's the grass?"

"The cow ate all of it."

"Then, where's the cow?"

"It left because there was no more grass."

Whew - Running since Friday - Had my first week with no kids and then 'bam' everyone was home.  My youngest turned 21 so she has been trying all kinds of drinks - funny thing, she is only about 100lbs - drank enough to knock out a bear and she came home fine!  Strange.  Actually, she really doesn't like alcohol or the bar scene so she doesn't worry me too much.

Wow, youngest is 21 - guess that really makes me old!  I stll fee like I'm in  my 30's so how could I have a 21 year old?

Well, I am trying a new trick on myself this week - the kids left and hubby is away for most evenings so I just refuse to go grocery shopping.  We have very little in the house so I am forced to eat right and very little.  I can't wait for school to end - then I will put grannie's workouts to good use - or maybe hit the pool.  But that is yet to come - gotta think about now!

Today I am visiting two of my students at their 'co op'.  You see as a cyber teacher - I only get to 'see' the students via the internet so a personal visit is really special.  I decided to make it a goal for next year to plan small group events in differrent regions of the state so I can meet more of my students in person.  I would have to meet them at a 'McDonald's or Wendy's' but at least we will get to meet.  I have to run it through my principal first but I think she will like the idea  - making it happen will be the tough part.

I wish I knew how to take an xcel spread sheet with all the kids addresses - and pin them to a map - time for 'google how to...'

Well, hope everyone has a great day -

... a quarterback is a refund.

... General Motors is in the army.

... Boyz II Men is a day care center.

... Taco Bell is the Mexican phone company.

... Meow Mix is a CD for cats.

Whew - whirl wind of a weekend and Monday. Had to make a home visit to a student and deaf mom. I am a sign language interpreter so the student is not my student but my heart goes out to them.  Mom is trying very hard but things are difficult for her for a variety of reasons.  Anyway, it was nice to use m signing skills after so many years.

My brother is deaf.  We did not sign to him at all growing up but when I graduated high school, I went to his school to work for 3 years  and became fluent in ASL.  I left there to go to college to be a social worker , then changed my major 3 X before going into teaching. Then 17 years later after my kids are almost grown, I get my first teacing job in a cyber school!!  Anyway - that is a clip from the life of Cybermom4 LOL.

Now for my eating

Yesterday -

B - fruit

S - fireball water

L Smart ones roastted potatoes and broccoli in cheese sauce

S fruit

D - wine, cottage cheese, water

Very disappointed that I did not lose anything.  I can't wait to meet with the health center June 14.  I know it will be work, but I don't know what I am hoping for but if I find it I will let you know.

Have an AIRHEAD day and have fun!!

Morning Mom :) Those jokes are very cute, nice read this AM.

What is fireball water? As you know, I also enjoy Smart Ones. I even prefer the flavor to lean cuisine.

wow...so you are multi-faceted with many skills. With a great education too. My mom is a director of social work. She does a great job, very smart lady....

But you must have a lot of great skills. That's cool you know sign language although my heart goes out to your brother and all people who aren't blessed by birth with hearing like the rest of us.

You are doing great, just keep on & you will get there. I'm also struggling lately with my weight but seeing the high numbers on the scale moving up as me more inclined to take control. I have learned from the past that it's not with several days of overeating and more weight gain. (and anyways, i still can overeat - usually i do like by having a big veggie meal, some protein, some carbs, but tons of veggies). so i don't need to overeat a big pasta or only chips or chips & cookies & ice cream when i'm doing the same with veggies. :)...

LOL sorry coach - I meant ' fireball' (candy) and water haha

A sailor in a bar leans over to the guy next to him and says, "Wanna hear a Marine joke?"

The guy next to him replies, "Well, before you tell that joke, you should know something. I'm 6' tall, 200 lbs, and I'm a Marine. The guy sitting next to me is 6'2" tall, weighs 225, and he's a Marine. The fella next to him is 6'5" tall, weighs 250, and he's also a Marine. Now, you still wanna tell that joke?''

The sailor says, "Nah, I don't want to have to explain it three times."

Well, I did 12 lady push ups today.  I told myself to start small and not 'over do it'.  I may try to walk in the morning but I don't want to walk in our neighborhood.  Our neighborhood is full of sweet older people who love to talk!!  Not that that is bad, but you don't get too much walking done LOL.

Yesterday - my daughter who graduated, brought home a surprise B-Day cake and gift b/c she will be at the beach this weekend. (we decided to celebrate on Friday since everyone is too busy on weekdays.  Of course I had to have a piece of cake - but no more.  I am putting the rest in the freezer and giving it to my son to take with him when he moves.

Oh I can't wait for June 14 -  mayb this is part of the psyche process - waiting until your first appointment, knowing that your life is going to change in a way that will be tough, but good.

Coach - c an I borrow you to come with me so when I take notes you can tell me if I got it right!!  Just kidding - you do a great job right here!!

I think also, when all the kids are finally gone - I can have the fridge to myself  Wow, when I think about it I have not been without kids since 1989 - 27 years!!  I think with the focus on my health and wellness - I will not have empty nest  - I will notice the quiet - but I think I will be preoccupied enough to just accept it. Plus I have DD!!

AM - did 12 lady push ups

Starting the day with Coffee and water

Snack - protien bar

Lunch - smart ones

snack - ?

Dinner - Smart Ones

Evening - will do 10 sit ups - Oh boy - I wrote it now I have to do it!!

Horn_of_plenty on 05/18/2016:

nice job on your exercise & pushups are a great exercise. They make you appear a lot stronger at the shoulders and upper body - a place i feel most women are very weak. i wish my mom would do something about it...she's really small in those areas.

Whew - my Graduation week is over!!  3 ceremonies in 7 days  I am so proud of them.

Now the attention is on Me.

Today is my B- Day so I am starting my new life today - Monday, May 16!!  No more sneaking donuts with my coffee or eating cake and whoopie pies  - only fruit and veggies and protien.

I did make an appointment with a bariatric dr, but I am not having surgery - I need a plan and a physical support group.  What I learn there, I can further impress on my brain by posting here. My problem is not over eating, just junk food eating.   I need a shrink or a hypotimist!!

My first meeting is June 14 - a week before we go on Vacation - so .... I am anticipating good things!!

Progress as of today: 2.6 lbs lost so far, only 7 lbs to go!

Horn_of_plenty on 05/16/2016:
Truth is, you do NOT need...you may want though :) I am saying that the power is all in our MINDS. Soo when you mention a support group / shrink / hypotimist, you are making sense because you are RIGHT - it's about the MIND.

I also sometimes run into trouble against my own mind, but it's about the power of positive thinking that we are ABLE and CAN do what we want to do. When you believe in yourself, you get a lot more done!

cybermom4 on 05/17/2016:
You are right Coach - my supervisor just gave me a book by Charles Duhigg called the Power of Habit. Just started it - a bit technical, at first but very interesting facts about the brain and research on the brain.

A woman was out golfing one day when she hit the ball into the woods. She went in to to look for it and found a frog in a trap. The frog said to her, "If you release me from this trap, I will grant you three wishes."
The woman freed the frog, and the frog said, "Thank you, but I failed to mention that there was a condition to your wishes. Whatever you wish for, your husband will get times ten."
The woman said, "That's okay." and for her first wish, she wanted to be the most beautiful woman in the world. The frog warned her, "You do realize that this wish will also make your husband the most handsome man in the world, an Adonis whom women will flock to. "
The woman replied, "That's okay, because I will be the most beautiful woman and he will have eyes only for me." So, KAZAM! she's the most beautiful woman in the world.
For her second wish, she wanted to be the richest woman in the world. The frog said, "That will make your husband the richest man in the world and he will be ten times richer than you."
The woman said, "That's okay, because what's mine is his and what's his is mine." So, KAZAM! she's the richest woman in the world.
The frog then inquired about her third wish, and she answered, "I'd like a mild heart attack."
But wait! There's more...
The man actually had a heart attack ten times MILDER than his wife. Duh.

A wealthy old lady decides to go on a photo safari in Africa, taking her faithful, aged poodle named Cuddles along for the company. One day the poodle starts chasing butterflies and before long Cuddles discovers that she's lost. Wandering about, she notices a leopard heading rapidly in her direction with the intention of having lunch. The old poodle thinks, "Oh, oh! I'm in trouble now!"

Noticing some bones on the ground close by, she immediately settles down to chew on the bones with her back to the approaching cat. Just as the leopard is about to leap, the old poodle exclaims loudly, "Boy, that was one delicious leopard! I wonder if there are any more around here?"

Hearing this, the young leopard halts his attack in mid-strike, a look of terror comes over him and he slinks away into the trees. "Whew!" says the leopard, "That was close! That old poodle nearly had me!"

Meanwhile, a monkey who had been watching the whole scene from a nearby tree, figures he can put this knowledge to good use and trade it for protection from the leopard. So off he goes, but the old poodle sees him heading after the leopard with great speed, and figures that something must be up.

The monkey soon catches up with the leopard, spills the beans and strikes a deal for himself with the leopard. The young leopard is furious at being made a fool of and says, "Here, monkey, hop on my back and see what's going to happen to that conniving canine!"

The old poodle sees the leopard coming with the monkey on his back and thinks, "What am I going to do now?", but instead of running, the dog sits down with her back to her attackers, pretending she hasn't seen them yet, and just when they get close enough to hear, the old poodle says: "Where's that monkey? I sent him off an hour ago to bring me another leopard!"

Well, only one more graduation in my family and the kids are 'done'!  I have to say my eating has been terrible!!

I never did meet my goal of trimming down for graduation, but it is what it is.  In fact I have gained 4 lbs over the past 2 weeks. UGG the scale!!

I saw my Dr. last week and he made an appointment with a weeight mangt dr. in our health care system.  I will meet with her June 14th.  The woman I spooke to said, 'I was exactly where you are at your age and it can be done"   I asked her if there was help with 'mental thinking'  such as 'I crave sugar so I will eat this whoopie pie"!  She said yes  - I told her I was not interested in surgery but a life style change - I need to use my Y membership.  Well going to get going on documenting all my intake as maybe knowing my eating habits will help them.

I would agree that with weightloss, it is ALL mental. I know from experience. And once you overeat, it's very hard the next few days both mentally & physically to feel back on track. I overate last night & it affected me today for sure.

um, you mean make lists? yes, I do sometimes - but just if I have limited time and need a few errands done. I make the list so I don't forget anything lol...that must be what everyone does!? hmmm...

I always make my calorie lists though. but not in advance anymore. I know pretty much (general idea) what I can eat to be within range. so, I calculate my calories as I go through the day. I like doing this, and it's a habit for many years. and lately, i'm having a much easier time with it - because usually I am happy as long as I am eating within a normal range to maintain a weight similar to what I currently weigh. so, as long as i'm eating a normal amount, that's all I care about knowing. It's become easier with time and experience with weightloss, gain, and maintenance. if you ever have any questions, please ask me!

I need a guy to give me a shoulder rub ;)
