My new soon-to-be habit is being in a happy mood. I'm tired of being grumpy. So from now on, if it aggravates me and has no real purpose in my life, it's gone.

Yesterday wasn't particularly healthy, but it wasn't bad. Lots of peanut butter to get rid of my chocolate cravings.

Yesterday's meals:

breakfast: whole wheat bagel, 2tbsps peanut butter, banana

lunch: PB&J sandwich, banana

snack 1: carrots

dinner: two frozen mini-pancakes, peanut butter

snack 2: 2 cups of no-butter popcorn, a handful of pretzels

Today's meals:

Breakfast: whole wheat bagle, peanut butter, apple

Lunch: tuna salad, carrots, 1 tbsp of peanuts

Snack 1: apple

Dinner: Steak with salsa and salad

Snack 2: nothing planned, may be too full. if anything a few strawberries.

Going to clean the kitchen floor today after I get back from grocery shopping. May do my walking if this headache goes away.

Progress as of today: 4 lbs lost so far, only 40 lbs to go!

that's a lot of peanut butter yesterday!!!! bagels have a lot of calories...you may want to consider hacing peanut butter on a whole wheat english muffin

Yesterday was pretty good. I got a "promotion" in a group that I'm in. :D Makes me feel good cause the group is full of wonderful people that keep me from pulling my hair out. Didn't do any walking yesterday, but I did spend an hour moving furniture to one side of the living room and then vacuumed and shampooed the carpet.

Food goals for the day:

Breakfast: Total cereal- 105, Milk- 102, Banana- 109, 1/2 serving of cappuccino- 150

Lunch: turkey breast meat- 45, swiss cheese- 107, wheat bread- 130, honey mustard- 20, apple- 81

Snack 1: banana- 109

Dinner: rice- 51, chicken breast- 187, honey mustard- 30, baby carrots- 38, peas- 55

Snack 2: orange- 62, whole wheat crackers- 177

Total: 1558

today's exercise should be another hour of moving furniture and vacuuming/shampooing and an hour of walking

Last week was wonderful! I didn't go over my calories! Woohoo! I did't do as much walking as I had hoped to, but one thing at a time. I've set a new goal for myself- walk the length of the U.S.! Not literally, just the milage equivalent (3000). It'll take me a while, but it's a goal. :D Eventually, once I reach that goal, I'll pick a country to add to that distance and then eventually the circumference of the whole world! (Ha, yeah right, that's 24k miles, lol!)

Today's meal plan:

Breakfast- two frozen pancakes (was running late so no syrup or anything

Lunch- PB&J, banana

Snack 1- apple

dinner- halibut marinara

Snack 2- pear

with that and all the house cleaning I have planned, should be a good day. :)

Okay, so it's been a while... Felt like I dropped off the face of the earth for a while there. I did fall off of the diet wagon though. I could use tons of excuses to fill in this space, but I won't. It comes down to I lost the momentum. I didn't completely backslide though. I maintained! That's the plus that I'm pulling out of my break. I learned that I hammered the healthy habits into my routine. Now it's time to start again. I want to wow the relatives when the holidays come around. Time to start again!

Oh yeah! We finally set the date for the wedding- July 11th, 2009!

I've been a mess this past week. I've been super cranky and stressed out. Part of it might be because I haven't been on here in a while. George is buggin the crap out of me. I get home yesterday from grocery shopping and he's already home. Which is fine, but I like about 30 minutes of relaxation time when I first walk through the door after getting home from work. The first thing he asks me: What's for dinner? And for the rest of the night he's on super-hyper, pestering teenager mode. And then he wonders why I get aggravated and go outside or play with the critters. And that stupid rooster of mine has started crowing at 5:00 in the morning. It doesn't bother me, but it bothers George who then wakes me up. I'm not the nicest morning person. If something besides me or my alarm wakes me up I'm a freakin lion for the next five hours. And I'm tired of using my weekends as catch up days. I just wish I could get a little extra help around the house sometimes...

I get up that early to workout. The drawback is that I have to go to bed early, like 9:00 - 9:30. The upside is that it helped me lose weight. I was never a morning person before, but I guess I am now.

Yesterday felt good. My sister is staying with me for the week while my mom is on a business trip in AR. So in other words I have a workout buddy for a week! Woohoo! I find myself feeling jealous a little though. She's an inch shorter than me (and she's five years younger than me! grr!) and can fit in a freakin size 4. :( And she's the kind of person that eats a whole hamburger, full order of fries, and a large coke and doesn't gain a pound. Oh well, I'm working my way to that stage. But anyways, back to yesterday. We went on my usual jogging trail and we did it in under 32 minutes! Woohoo! We did more walking breaks than I usually do, but we also jogged faster.


Mini bagel with 2 tbsp of Philadelphia Light cream cheese, 1 scoop of slim fast shake mix, 1 cup of 1% milk, and a banana- 485 cals


Lean Cuisine Macaroni and Cheese and a small apple- 365 cals


Graham snack cookies called Bug Bites- 140


2 oz of cooked ground beef, 1 cup of cooked spaghetti noodles, 1/4 cup of tomato sauce, 2 cups romaine lettuce, 1 tbsp of kraft ranch dressing- 485

2nd Snack:

50 grams of carrots, 1 tbsp of kraft ranch dressing- 95

total: around 1575

and that's leaving me with a full stomach. I updated my sparkpeople nutrition and fitness stuff and they have me at a 1280-1630 range. I'm gonna really try to stick with it. Gotta learn to dig my heels in sometime in my life.

I hope you enjoyed your sister's stay. Thats a nice calorie range that sparkpeople recommended. You can do quite a lot with that many calories! :o)

Yesterday was fun! I'm regreting it now, but I still had a blast. I didn't get home last night until 10:50ish and then had to get up for work this morning. We rode every ride except for the new one that opened over the weekend (it was a two hour long wait). I sure got my exercise in though! We got there around 11:00 and left at closing time- 8:00. Did pretty good on calories, too. I had a bagel with cream cheese for breakfast (my usual), a thing of waffle fries for lunch, a large pretzel without salt for snack, a couple bites of my sister's ice cream, and a banana for "dinner" (I was too tired to make anything). Not exactly the best choices, but I could have done much worse. My knees are killing me today, though. Enough to make me wear my knee brace. And to top it off, Aunt Flow is visiting this week. :( Ah well, thank goodness there are only three workdays this week.

Hm, well you might think I am a weirdo but...I calculated your calorie intake: rough estimate, and although you got around 1448 calories...I would not call them particularly nutritious. I am sorry if I come off mean, I am not trying to I just want to help you achieve your goal healthfully. Great job on the exercising though, that rocks and I am sure you burned plenty of calories that way!!!

I've totally lost the control I had when I started my life change. It used to be hard for me to get in 1500 cals. Now I'm having a heck of a time staying under 2100. I think it might have something to do with the new job situation. On a daily basis I lift many 40-50lbs of dog/cat food, move/lift many sizes of boxes that get shipped to us, haul things around with a pallet jack, and the walking never ends. Today I get kind of an off day to set up for kits I have to make tomorrow. Speaking of tomorrow- it's gonna be stressful. I have 51 kits to make- by myself. We have Monday off and then Tuesday I'm going with my sister and her band class to King's Island (a theme park- woohoo!). So I may even have to put in a little overtime. The money's nice, but time is precious.

Im wondering if your body is trying to tell you something with this extra calorie intake. Perhaps 1500 calories isnt enough for you to run on anymore. Im not saying it needs 2100, but maybe you should strive for a little higher than 1500. Try experimenting with something in between 1600-1800 calories and see if it helps. Having more fuel may actually help you jumpstart your weightloss, because you are apparently getting a lot of physical activity in each day.

It does look like you stay real active - maybe you need to look at the quality of the foods that you are eating, not just the calorie count. Mix it up - try something different.

I think the ladies above are on to something. IF youa re doing all that physical work you will need more calories. Also - I know what you mean - somedays when we are "in the zone" it's hard for me to even eat the minimum amount of calories. I think it's like anything else - peaks and valleys. The peaks don't last forever, but neither do the valleys - hang in there.

Okay, so I was horrible over the weekend. I did my mowing on saturday and my calorie intake was okay. Yesterday I fished for 5 hours, but my calories were HORRIBLE! Let's put it this way- I was over 3k. :( I had a leftover Pizza Hut slice for breakfast, George took me to Arby's for lunch, and then my stepdad's mom got KFC for dinner. Yeah, wasn't very nice. I fished for five hours and did some running around with my mom's horse though. He's weird- for the life of me I can't get him to run while riding him, but he'll run up and down the fence with me and the dogs. So today I'm really limiting myself. It's going to be a mind over matter fight.

Hope you did well on the limiting yesterday. I know what you mean about needing someone to be accountable to. I do OK being accountable to me for awhile, but then I think I get too lax with myself. Then I get back on track. I guess it is a process for all of us - as long as we don't stay off track very long. Also - I know I would rebell against someone trying to reign me in too tightly (horse reference intended - hee-hee). Hang in thre you can do it!

I think I need a "jump start". I've lost my motivation and my momentum. This morning I put up little notes with quotes on them all over the house. (Even in the fridge. XD) I went through my workout routine and bumped everything up. Maybe if I start to feel like I'm actually working up a sweat I'll keep it up more. For the past couple of months I never did break a sweat unless it was hot outside, lol. So today I'm "restarting". I'm going to set everything up from today's weight and bust my butt again.

I think I need someone to hold me accountable. Someone to really dig into me and make sure I'm doing what I say I'm going to do. It'd have to be someone that'd be willing to bite back if I ever got snappy on a bad day, lol!

So today I'm going to try to mow. No... I'm GOING to mow even though it's a tid bit chilly. That's why they invented jackets. I'm also going to do an hour of strength training: Modified Planks, Crunches with Ball, Crunches with Twist, Regular Crunches, Biceps Curls with Bands, Dumbbell Shoulder Press, Pushups on Ball, Wall Pushups, Calf Raises with Chair, Squats, Dumbbell Squats, and Wall Squats with Ball. I should be good and wore out at the end of today. I've also changed it to where I only do strength training on two days of the week and cardio on the rest of the days. So in a way I have days off, but not really. Which I like it that way. I can't take a day off or I get into a slump. My mind starts fighting me with things like "What's one more day? You deserve a break, you're tired from resting yesterday. You can do it later tonight. Why not try it in the morning? etc." So yeah, no more of that. I have to turn my brain off for the next five months. :D

Bump update: It's still there. If it's changed at all it's gotten bigger, but that's probably my mind playing tricks on me. I was thinking the other day- What if it's been there this whole time but I'm just now finding it because the fat isn't hiding it anymore?

Oh! I tried the generic version of the crystal light powder the other day. They taste wonderful! I like the regular lemonade mixed with the pink lemonade. :) The nutrition information shows that there's nothing in it except for potassium. I'll have to see what the ingredients are the next time I think about it.

Hi,best of luck at your re-start.This is my third re-start since january.I am doing a challenge with 'geengirl'to loose the most weight in the next 7 weeks,so far so good.Is that lump a cyst or a boil??i would get it checked out if it is getting bigger to put you own mind at rest.I had a lump on my wrist and it was a gristly fat lump it hurt when i pressed it.You can have them taken out by your doctor here in England.Anyway get focused, ready to loose them lbs.Bye 4 now Julie
