Yesterday was so draining.  Even the anticipation of yoga vanished,  and I left the office exhausted.  We had a closing in our office that was strewn with technical problems,  and then,  in the end,  it didn't go through so we have to do it all over again tomorrow or Thursday.  It's bad enough having outsiders in the office, and then all for naught.  

When it came to doing yoga,  then,  it felt like another task to take care of rather than a relaxing reward.  It was a good session,  though,  with my daughter except that the cats kept acting up throughout the entire class. 

Throughout all of this,  I had that awful bloating.  I think it's the protein shakes,  so I'll skip that today.  My eating was good but I did have 2 Stoopwaffel cookies after yoga.  That's about 400 calories.  Oh well.

Did my push-ups. 

Progress as of today: 46.5 lbs lost so far, only 13 lbs to go!

I understand completely how hard it is to relax after a hard day at work; you did your best so take some pride in the fact that, even though the day wasn't great, you still tried to spend time doing the things and being with the people that you love.

No worries! I know where you were coming from. That's why I appreciated your comment, because it feels like I'm tired of trying, too no avail, but perhaps I'm doing better with coping than I give myself credit for.

Well I’m glad you did the yoga and I know what you mean by it sometimes feeling like a standard task and not a totally free minded relaxation! But there’s benefits to that yoga :) muscles !

Thank you! It's one of those "fake it till you make it" moments. I know that I always feel better after yoga, which motivates me to at least get started. Getting started is the hardest part.

It's 7:02 am and I've already reached my limit of patience with stupid.  So today may be a lower social media day.   Hopefully,  work will cooperate.  

I tried a bedtime yoga session last night.  It was the wrong session (painful to my back and the stretch wasn't a good stretch,  either).  Tonight is Yin yoga with the Studio owner,  so no need to look for another bedtime session until tomorrow. 

Did push-ups last night.  No weights because I had hip pain Sunday morning and decided best not to test my back.  Probably a good thing,  especially after the bad yoga session at night 

I've been feeling out of sorts this weekend,  with bloating.This morning is particularly uncomfortable.  No pain,  just bloat. The iron pills I take are hard on my GI system, sometimes more so than others.

Anyway,  I'm not going to let my morning get me down.  I'll just change my focus and make it a better day.

Thank you! Strange thing, though, is that I actually dreaded the yoga, because it was one more thing to do. Of course, afterwards, I felt great, lol.

Perhaps I was too occupied, mentally, at work, to appreciate the yoga reward awaiting me.

Had a little struggle last night, but I still feel like I did ok.  I had an extra cookie after dinner, and was able to keep it at that.  And that's not so bad.  Bad would have been feeling like I had to finish the cookies, or go on to some other food, in a food fit.  No, I had an extra cookie and then I was done.

My right shoulder/arm/elbow/hand is very achy today.  I may have to switch my push-ups to wall push-ups tonight.  Wall push-ups don't aggravate my arm as much.  Yesterday, for weight training, I did shoulders and back.  Even though I used only 5 pound dumbbells for the shoulders, maybe that was too much.  I took some Aleve but I'm still in quite a bit of pain.

I also did some knitting last night - about a hour! - and I wonder if that's why I'm feeling this pain in my hand too.  It goes straight up the middle finger.  

I did a little reading last night, but I'm only in chapter 8 of a 30+ chapter book.  (Each chapter is about 3 pages long.)  I looked at the table of contents,though, and I think the next section may be more interesting, as it deals with suffering.  This first section is "principles" of yoga.  For example, one principle was to detach ourselves with the material and focus on the spiritual, or refocus from the external to the internal, if you will.  

My plan is to do lower body weights tonight.  I hope to enjoy some of the sunshine today, but it's  not quite warm enough to make it truly enjoyable.  But that's OK - I'll take what I can get :-)

 I just typed up a long entry and when I went to submit it, the website said it "couldn't be reached" and I lost everything I typed up!  Maybe I'll come back here later to write more.  Or maybe I'm just done with this site for the day.

OK, I'm going to try again, I think in short intervals, perhaps, as Bear recommended.  See, folks, even Diet Diaries is feeling a  little testy lately!

Today is gray, rainy, and cold, but I have a nice little list of things to do that I like to do, with probably the exception of mopping up the floors, but that has to be done because of little kitty.  She seems to have been struggling with her lower half all week, and not just bathroom issues.

I am glad to be home today, and I realized that this feeling is because I am still able to go to work during the week.  Being able to go to work has enabled me to keep up a general framework of normal routine.  And for this I am grateful.  I think I'd feel completely different if I worked from home or if I were unemployed.

I *WANT* to knit, read, and start this new puzzle.  I'm still having difficulties reading this yoga book.  I read a little last night and enjoyed it.  Very easy, very enlightening.  Why is this so hard to get to the point of where I'm holding the book and cracking it open??

If I'm going to watch TV this weekend, aside from news, I want it to be something different.  I have season 3 of Ozark and season 4 of Better Call Saul to watch.  I WANT to watch these, but like with reading, I'm struggling to get started.  What is this all about?

 Finally, next week's schedule from the Yoga Studio has posted and it's the same as last week's.  That's unfortunate. There's another studio that is offering more classes that I'm thinking about signing up with, just for the month of May, for a monthly pass.  I would probably not go to this studio in real life, because it's a little farther away, parking is an issue, and they have more students, so the room is pretty full.

But then, why would I pay for something when maybe I can find something comperable online for free?  Not sure.  I checked out the website.  I have a few days yet to think it over, before May starts.

Anyway, for now, I'll be doing Yin Yoga on Monday night and Flow-Yin on Thursday night.

What can I say about yesterday?   Illinois has extended our shelter- down for one more month, through May 30th.  I'm ok with that.  Masks will be mandatory.  I'm ok with that.  Mistakes Girl is making cloth masks.  I've asked for 2 or 3, if she's willing.  In the meantime,  we have 3 masks here,  2 disposable and 1 no-sew.

I fought a good fight with food and WON.  Twice I caught myself going towards cookies, once at work and once after dinner,  and STOPPED myself.  NOT EASY.

The thing is,  this is an ongoing battle.  I was victorious yesterday,  but I will be confronted with this challenge again,  often, and it will still be a struggle to win.  And I may not always win - I'm sure of that. 

All I do at work these days is nag.  The constant chasing after lenders to have the loans ready is wearing thin on my nerves.  It gets old really quick. This nagging gets me cross, crabby.  Nagging all day long is NOT a pleasant feeling ,  not how I want to live my life!

The office was treated to lunch yesterday,  and I had half a sandwich, plus vegetables that I brought from home.   I find that I do better when I have some carbs.   I've also started having oatmeal for breakfast,  and that is working well too ,  as it seems to hold my hunger away longer. 

Finally,  I've started having a protein shake at home before I go to work so that I'm not so hungry when it's time for oatmeal.  We'll see how that goes for a week or two ,  and then reevaluate. 

Fast-Slow yoga was much needed,  and my balancing was good for most of the session,  but I had trouble with left and right coordination.  Yoga is about balance.  What is done on the left must be done on the right.  So I'll keep on trying!

I just ordered some cotton masks on eBay for when I have to start commuting and possibly to use next fall / winter. Soooo overpriced :( but at least I have some.

I hear you about the nagging. I'm feeling that way too. Also, when I talk to BF at night I sort of vent a lot to him. It can't be good for the relationship!

We just have some of the regular old dust masks...but haven't had to wear them yet..there is a pretty easy one to make with the large bandanna hankies and 2 pony tail holders to go over the ears....no sew even.

Running late this morning,  even though I went to bed relatively early last night. I need to sign up for tonight's yoga class, so I'll probably be late to work. 

I did well with eating last night,  for a change.  Did not eat all of my take-out dinner (Italian beef sandwich with cheese), added fresh vegetables,  had a piece of chocolate,  and then after my evening bike ride,  I enjoyed half a cookie, so about 100 calories.  This is HUGE for me because I'm usually seen all or nothing person,  and member of the Clean Plate Club.  I can have the other half tonight or whenever. 

I decided to start eating more in the mornings,  to balance our calorie intake.  I hope that will help with  that edgy after dinner feeling. 

One thing that's been helping is telling myself,  at night,  Go to bed,  if I still want to eat (whatever), I can have it in the morning. That's helped a lot.

For me being home I’m allowing a lot of carbs and letting my eating be quite different from when I was working . I’m not even eating lots of veggies now, but trying to get some veggie in daily

I also love leftovers mainly bc it saves me cooking !!! There was a vote on Facebook weather people like leftovers I was surprised how many people won’t eat them?!

So it's official.  I now know someone who has COVID-19.  One of our agents is sick.  How many showings did she have before she became symptomatic?

Today we have strangers (clients) coming to our office.  I will be wearing my mask and sanitizing the room after they leave. 

It looks like Illinois will be extending the shelter-down order into May, which sounds prudent to me.  I'm very interested to see how the states that are opening will do.  Georgia is opening up guns next week.  As much as I miss the gym,  I would not go at this time,  even if it means I'm paying dues.  Same goes for three yoga studio.

Enjoyed my evening bike ride and did my push-ups.  After dinner eating,  i.e. NOT eating after dinner,  went ok.  I had a price of chocolate and a cup of decaf.  I look forward to the same,  tonight. 

Today is supposed to be warm temperatures but rainy.  That's how it rolls in Illinois.  Oh well,  if it were really nice outside,  I'd want to be outside and not in my windowless office. So there's always a bright side. 

I have ambitions to develop a daily yoga practice. I felt so good after Monday night's session.  Just can't seem to fit it in.

I agree that it would be prudent to continue the shelter-down, although I know that in Canada they are looking at opening up certain businesses as soon as next week. And if we think it's too soon for Canada to open up, I can't imagine what that might look like in the U.S.

I like that you want to start practicing yoga daily, although it might be more reasonable to check in daily instead; some days, your mindset may show the 'need' to practice more than other days. In my opinion, that's when it would benefit you the most! I'm definitely reaping the benefits of doing a quick routine in the morning :)

I've been encouraged to start a nightly yoga routine to help me sleep better. As I mentioned in my comment to you, it's all a matter of priorities.

I think I could benefit mentally by doing yoga in the morning, for sure.

Well..now that is scary! Good plan to counteract it all.....I for one will continue to stay quarantined for some time...no matter what the Gov says.....I think we will be fighting this for awhile and suspect there will be a jump in the numbers when things open up....stay safe.

This just affirmed to me that having our office front for locked is for a very good reason, even if the boss's daughter is suing patients on the first floor... and then comes up to get chocolate and talk of over 30 minutes. Grr...

 Yesterday,  work was just difficult.  I just realized that I have to get to work as early as possible for a particular file. Ugh...

I will say that doing Yin Yoga last night with the studio owner (and my daughter) really helped with the tension and soreness I was feeling all day in my upper back,  shoulders,  neck.  

Did ok with after dinner eating too.

I've just been kind of doing my own thing with yoga lately; I took a couple of classes with our gym's yoga instructor, and learned enough moves that I just repeat them over and over ;). Maybe tomorrow morning I will look one up on you tube, or maybe our instructor has posted a new one that I can follow along with.

I really think yoga is so calming, and really sets the tone for the rest of my day. Yesterday I managed to stay calm the whole day LOL, which is saying a lot these days!

Thanks for your comment on my post yesterday. I'm glad you're 'ok' too. I guess, right now, that's the best we can hope for. And 'ok' is better than the alternative, right?

Now, if you could just give me some pointers about the after dinner eating...yikes, I was a bit of a wild animal last night.

It will be interesting to see if there are any new contracts today.  Sunday's weather was nice - not quite warm enough for me,  but not cold.  I can't imagine anyone wanting to buy or sell right now.  

My daughter took too long to eat the last piece of her birthday cake so I ate it last night.  I admit,  I was looking forward to it,  wasn't even trying to resist. Then, I had a couple of brownies.  I was feeling tired, sad,  lonely . 

Tonight is Yin Yoga, slow paced,  holding poses for an expanded period of time.  My daughter is home today,  so she will join me.  (This is on Zoom, through the yoga studio. )  So there's something to look forward to,  during the work day, to keto me moving forward. 

I will try to do better with eating today.

My neighbor's house has been on the market since middle of December. He thought he had a buyer in February, but that fell through and now he says we will have new neighbors May 1st. He was over all weekend, trying to get all of his crap out of the shed and garage. We will see.

We have a two day rule in our house. If it's still in the refrigerator after two days of being claimed it is NOW free game for DH to eat.

Good morning!  It is sunny here this morning - what a blessing! - and warmer, because there is no breeze.  Well..... looking out the window, I see branches moving.  It's definitely NOT as cold-feeling as yesterday.  I hope to sit outside and enjoy my backyard for a bit today.  Perhaps I will bring out my knitting.

Speaking of which, I did knit a bit and read a little bit yesterday.  I also did a lot of laundry.  I will do floors today, after daughter goes to work...
