Good Morning & Happy Columbus Day to the Americans!

 8am: kombucha (really nice flavor never tried of a brand i don't love but the flavor was calling my name and it was highly refreshing so nice! It was the LIVE Kombucha brand in Refreshing Rhuberry Flavor. 60 cal. also had some stevia in some seltzer. Trying to do my thing before a busy day on the road!

9am Late Breakfast: saag around 200?, wrap with quinoa burger 200. 400 total. oh and a banana 120

550-600..now gonna study.

Candy and caffeine 100

Lunch: if diner, blt probably and a side of veggies?

Big egg white omelette 250? Toast with ketchup 300 tops 550 and some potato 100 tops.100 650.

1350... Apple picking : apples up to 150-200

Light meals : fiber one bar 100, chips 100

1750 - tops ! Great!

My plan is to finishing drinking these drinks, maybe fast shower yeah, get ready & then study a little bit if time since i did study yesterday around 1hr, but then didn't study last night like i should have. Didn't watch the debate either....i will look it up on YouTube maybe tomorrow or tonight. I was just relaxing yesterday after the gym.


Right now it's 8:30. My friend is coming here at 10:30 and we are then driving out east around 1hr to pick up our good friends (married couple) and then all four of us will drive out even further east (out east on Long Island) to Apple Pick! We are going for my best friend's belated bday celebrations.  Looking foward to picking lots of amazing apples & giving some away to good friends & family.  People who would enjoy them & who i would enjoy giving a freshly picked apple to! LOL...

The orchard we are going to is called Milk Pail & has a wonderful selection.  I know this because my best friend & I went there last year! Here's the link:


Should be a wonderful day. Lunch on the way to apple picking also for the 4 of us at a Diner nearby the orchard probably. Then apple picking & then dropping my married friends off...and driving back home to Queens with my best friend. We may get food around here in Queens I would think before she then drives back up to White Plains (another 45 minutes away for her!). Lots of driving but well worth it for today!!

9am - 600 cal breakfast a bit high but will be filling. (it was too much food...but very filling and satisfying: pumpkin pie light and fit greek yogurt 80, banana 120, fruit flavor oatmeal 200 made with water, chips 200.)

11:30am: Saag...kinda like an Indian versian of Cream of Spinach. 300 cal at least.

Some caffeine (monster energy drink.) after breakfast.

Zooidles worh Indian food and ice cream. -around 350 1250, good.

snack before gym: 150 cal of a fiber one strawberry cheesecake bar so good.

after gym, 8pm late dinner: subway sandwich and some leftover roasted veggies my mom made. around 550 total for dinner. 

1950 today, good. Healthy. 

2-day avg is 2100. slightly high. but at least healthy.


Today's plans are VERY simple: 2 things ONLY and possible small cooking at home things that i already have in the fridge - but DOESN'T HAVE TO BE DONE TODAY.



2. GYM

I don't really care the order i get them done. Gym will be done early because i will get out of work EARLY on Tuesday for the holiday and YES, i will go to the gym early that day.  I am doing what I need to do right now in order to feel good and get my gym in. I feel I am an adult and it is ok to make decisions like these. My health comes first.  And skipping the gym is not in my plans, sorry.

On Wednesday, our day of atonement and forgiveness, I will be taking the New York State Notary test 2 times. It's given two times and can be taken as many times as we want. I need to pass and failed it last time. That's why i'm making sure this isn't the case on Wednesday. I didn't want to take off any more time from work which is why i'm taking it on my holiday. Like i said, I'm an adult and need to sometimes make choices that not everyone is going to agree with, but choices i am content with myself.

After the tests, which will end around noon, I have a dermatologist appointment that i booked around 1 month ago & have been waiting for. I should be home wednesday from everything at around 3 & plan to maybe to laundry then - so i have less on the weekend. Or, if weather is nice, perhaps a walk.  And that's how I'll be spending the Jewish holiday. :) And that's totally ok. It's very busy here in the NYC area. We work hard and a lot.  I am very thankful that I have the opportunity to spend some time outside work and doing things that are helpful to me as an adult.


I actually have a bad pain for around 1 week, straight, in my right side only thigh, butt, and lower back. it hurts so badly. I don't think it's sciatica but very similar. It's from a lot of sitting (like at work and home on couch) and i think that i favor my right side even when driving...so now i have a slight problem. Just trying to ignore it, really. This type of pain will usually go away on it's own with more movement....that's what i read online. It is painful and annoying mostly.  I used to get this pain at certain times of the month before my you-know-what. But this week shouldn't have had any pain at all....and it's strange how the pain showed up out of nowhere...! That's why i'm positive it will also go away on it's own...

Sounds like a great plan! Sorry to hear about your pain. That does sound a lot like sciatica. You know what I have been dealing with - as I have complained about it enough - LOL. Hope it gets better.

Breakfast: loads of low cal ice cream (halo top) around 420 cals which equals (if you want to know the volume) - 1 full pint and 2/3 of a second pint! i feel back to sleep afterwards for around 2 more hours!

2pm lunch: wrap and chips 250, wrap was filled with cream cheese 100, lox hardly any left like 20 cal, and a lot of saag spinich with the cream around 3/4 cup? 200 cal maybe. so around 550-600. good. and caffeine now. oh, forgot the banana i had around 1pm.

so far today: 1100. excellent.

Snack 150 1250... Healthy dinner prob around 800 tops. 2050 and healthy.

came home after 10pm and hungry - had a tasty protein muffin 200.

2250 total = good.

It's my dad's 64th bday. will have dinner with the family. possibly sleep over and visit my grandma with my dad tomorrow (wasn't in the plans, but, feel bad not to go with him if i sleep over..) yup, it's a BBQ. totally bringing over some extra veggies for myself so i don't have to indulge in higher cal options. Trying to eat extra well before my Texas trip!

6:30am - Lavendar flavor Kombucha - nice 60 cal.

At work: lox 100 and cream cheese 100 on wrap 100. and a small banana 100.

No Snack.

Lunch: !!! ordering Indian but may save to have at home tonight. only mostly cabbage and sauteed okra heavy on the oil 450? and a wrap 50...and meat that i mostly threw out. total can't be more than 600.

During errands: plum and diet coke :)

7pm? other snacks: 100 (pickles, later a chocolate.)

9pm late - bigger dinner, indulged (bought tons of healthy delights - cooked and sauced veggies and some calamari).

around 1800 today. good.

And Ice cream 200 more

weekly avg: 1840/day. excellent!

Errands include:

1. Bath & Body works - treating myself to 2-three wick candles (on sale) and a bath scrub (on sale)...should cost total $25 after discounts.

2. Will treat myself to some Halloween decor for the outside door of my apt :) and maybe something small also for my desk at work..although i already have a Halloween card!

2:40pm edit at work - def no gym tonight. didn't sleep well last night & I am really tired. Skipping all caffeine in afternoon & will def take a sleeping pill tonight (well, or just go to sleep on time is more likely)...lately not taking many pills thankfully. I just need to hit the bed early. after i get the Victoria's Secret deal at the store. Should be home around 6pm-6:30pm-ish. That's what I'm thinking anyways!

Not even in a mood for breakfast at work really...

Home - 6:20am or so - Drinking Vinegar in coconut blueberry flavor i think it was 30 and tangerine seltzer with added stevia. coffee also at work 70.  I may be drinking extra coffee today, with milk & equal. 

Breakfast later i think instead of right away at work: wrap 100, lox 50, cream cheese 100. 250.and banana.

12pm bar at noon - 150 higher protein. tasty. pb flavor.

1:15pm LUNCH: not in mood for meat, at all. so had only cabbage and lots of sauteed pumpkin mixed into it - was good. 450.


1200 before gym.

after gym: around 400.

total today is AWESOME 1600.



Purposely skipping gym tonight & going tomorrow instead.  MAYBE. (maybe do both - YES that's my plan for many reasons i don't want to go tomorrow after work, better to do the gym also today actually! - so that i can go earlier on Sunday & not have to wait until Sunday later at night, yes, going tonight and then sunday earlier afternoon or like 4pm!...then again on Tuesday, early, since i will get outta work early Tuesday.  this is why i'm going to gym today & not tomorrow!) GYM TOMORROW. bed early tonight. so that i can be better rested on Friday. Feeling tired bc i didn't sleep well last night.

Either way, I will stop home after work & pick up the underwear from Victoria's Secret that i bought Tuesday because: my deal was 5 for $27.50...and today's deal - for ONLY tonight from 7-9pm - is 8 for $27.50 - so, planning to return and re-purchase so i get an additional 3 pairs (free - for same price as original!).  I must do this...been wanting more and now it's like i'm getting 3-$10 prs for free. (original price is around $10 per underwear!)

Good Morning All!

Home: kombucha almost a full bottle 50, seltzer with stevia GOOD.

8:30am work Breakfast: Banana 120, wrap 100 with cream cheese 100 and small amount lox 50. total here: 370. GOOD.

11:45am Work Snack: Some kinda bar? if hungry...otherwise, coffee - decaf... and two taffies. around 100. GOOD.

12:30pm Lunch: healthy - decided on some pretzels 200, little bit of cabbage with some sauteed pumpkin on top (was more of a spread not pieces) 200 at least, and a small wrap with mustard and pastrami 200. around 600. excellent.

Snack on way home maybe: Plum 50.

1200. GOOD.

Dinner: not sure but thinking light...and thinking to be in bed early and no extra walking today. THINKING TO HAVE LIGHT HALO TOP VANILLA ICE CREAM FOR DINNER AND JELLO. AROUND 300 CALS TOPS. chips 200, jello 50.

1700. ok!

1850 5-day average :)

and a half hour walk (at least) after work! :)


Drinking some kombucha at home this AM and preparing to go to work. Should be ok for me all month...Like I said in my entry yesterday, I'm working on being pretty low-key in general the first half of this month. Trying to get more sleep and rest. End of the month I'll be on an excitng vaca in Texas with 3 friends. 4 of us total. So, I'm trying to not overdo till then. All is good. In general, I'm feeling good.

I don't go away very often & def have never went on a vaca with friends (except in college and when i was touring and the one time i went to Israel alone but part of a group when i was 26...). Ok, so I have done travel in the past, but this is the first time in a LONG time :)

I am taking 3 days off for the trip and 1 extra day to hopefully do laundry and maybe get back to the gym? The days are October 20-24. I know 1 day extra after the trip will be good for me - we will get back here to New York around 5:30pm flight on the 23rd. So, it will be good to sleep in...hope i'm not wasting one of my days the next day taking it off...but i know myself....it will be good to be home & do laundry and prepare for the rest of the week.

Then November is back to business. I am VERY thankful for some off time this month. I am using it pretty wisely. Anyways, November is back to business with my mom's bday and Friend's wedding in the middle of the month of November. December is also down to business and I don't plan to take days off. January thru March I will have 4 total sick days to use. And then it'll already be Spring! wowzers. Time is moving.

Thru winter my plan is LOW KEY. It's to really push myself to rise above my current cardio and leg strength levels. During the winter I will be preparing for running in the Spring.

I may have to rest up and take a gym break after the trip to Texas bc we will be walking a lot. Sorta nervous about it - but I think I'll be fine... :)

A girl in my class was telling us she makes her own kombucha and took a class on the whole probiotics thing. She was telling us she had some spare skobis in her refrigerator then she said matter of fact it was a hotel for skobis if we wanted one to start making our own kombucha. (thought that was funny) She said her house always had a fermented smell to it, but she enjoyed the process. I thought of you and then I thought I might ask for a skobi and then I thought uh...nah maybe later!

yeah i think i won't do it because of the smell....but...she must save BOATLOADS of Cash! oh yes. smart lady she is. :-)

She must be very self-sufficient in general and work hard in her home if she is making kombucha that is pretty awesome. :)

Thank you Annie :) I live for alone time also - in addition to new experiences. these are the two things that really keep me going. They are polar opposites - alone time resting vs. exciting new experiences. Love both these things.

9am Breakfast at my apt finally made pancakes again!: 1 cup egg whites 120, 1 banana 120, cream cheese 40, oatmeal 40, cinnamon; then topped with sf raspberry jelly 30 and peanut butter 200:

550...saving a protion as a snack for later. gonna have the other half my energy drink now & study for notary test.

Snacking while driving to massage and doing errands after it: only 150 cal, MOST. and more likely to be around 100 cal. (two candies and a bigger chocolate - but still bit size).

700 most before dinner.

bigger dinner, but not too much: Subway sandwch with extra veggies in it 300 tops, chicken sausage - last one 120, too many chips 230 hopefully not more, and jello.

650-700. excellent for dinner.

total today is def not more than 1400 = excellent. 

3-day cal average is gonna be much better...1916...that's def better...will get it into the 1800's for the week. That will be good.  I may even aim for an average in the 1700's if I can...the goal for me is to lose a couple lbs for sure this month.

Glad I stuck to my guns & have a low calorie day! !!!!!!!!!!!  It was easy because the massage was great, i had low cal options when home, and I was out of my apt all afternoon from 12:30 till around 6pm. really excellent.  It was really NICE to get a massage from someone i've known for some time, spend some time walking around an outdoor shopping center & not be at my computer at work today. REALLY NICE.  And sleeping in - and not stepping foot out of my bed till 8am - THE BEST.  I've done extra laundry and don't see myself doing any more laundry till maybe next week Wednesday instead of this weekend? - We'll see.




Massage was AWESOME.


The New York State Notary Test I'm taking in 1 week from now well, Wednesday, 10/12/16.  There's a test at 9:30am and a test at 11am.  The location of the test is approximatly 45min away so I will leave my apt around 8:30 for the 9:30 test. I will probably take both of them that morning bc it's a HARD(lots of terms to memorize and it's tricky..) test and I need to pass it.  I usally don't have a problem in the least passing things - and i already FAILED this test the first time I took it around 2 months ago!  

I think it's a harder test than whatever was given 20yrs ago...but whatever the case I'll study enough this time & pass. The test can be taken as many times as a person wants and it's always every Wednesday of the month and always at 9:30am and 11am.  Lol i should be studying now!


Going for a massage that starts at 1:30 later today. It's quite a drive away - around 45min to an hour depending on traffic! Haven't gone to this particular place for a massage probably in 1year...but i really like the therapist which is why i am going.

The actual massage is 1hr 30min (so it'll end at 3pm) and afterwards I will swing by Rite Aid drug store back by me (because i have $15 in store credit) and will be picking up a case (or two) of waters, seltzer, paper towels, and toilet paper. I may also QUICKLY swing buy a supermarket to pick up very minimal items: couple bananas, meat / protein. That's it.  I have enough in the vegetable and fruit dept to last until next week.  

I will probably be back at my apt around 4:30-5pm.  I am NOT planning on any cardio today really. Maybe a 10 min walk later tonight but i don't really need it? Not sure. I will probably take a sleeping pill tonight & be in bed early around 8pm.  

Looking to really rest up this month - and it's working so far. - because this month is a rare opportunity for me - working only 3 days every week. Towards the end of this month, I'll be on vacation in Texas...that may be a doozy lol but i'm looking forward. After that, I'll be working straight no days off all of November and December. I will have 4 sick days left to use between January thru March.

Breakfast around 9am at parents house: oatmeal 100 made with milk 60 And cinnamon, small banana 120, yogurt pumpkin pie flavor 80 and a chocolate 80 - around 450 - good.

Snack of a absolutely horrible Quest bar in blueberry muffin flavor around 200 cal 650.

Healthy lunch of leftOvers made by my mom chicken 150 most soup 50? With turnips and parsnip around 200? And bite of carrot. Oh and kashi grains 150 most? And piece Of rich challah bread 100?? Small piece. Broccoli 50. 700. Easy to overeat at home but it was healthy. 1350 so far, fine.

snacking at home back at my apt 4:30pm: sf lemon jello with strawberries in it 120, coconut greek yogurt 190. 310.

1660...ok...bit high...but it's ok. it's not a binge or anything.

Going to the gym tonight (not skipping bc of holiday) and tomorrow will be a very low key day (and a massage in evening).  Took Monday & Tuesday off. Very content with my plans and what I have going on in October in general. Feeling good about my decisions.

8:45pm snack after workout: wrap 60 with lox 150 and cream cheese 100 (hits the spot);  and chips 210: 520. higher, yup...tomorrow's a new day.

approx 2200. NOT the worst. and i exercised...and walked 10 minutes before gym and 10 mintues after. so that's a mile right there :)

2-day avg is high right now: 2175.



4pm - so i just added $150 to my laundry card which had around $10 left on it. Should last me thru maybe December at least. That's good since I don't know when I'd be having another day off in November or December to reload my card (i can always put it in the housing mail...but I prefer going in person).  Glad i got it done today (just after 4pm) and that I didn't miss the closing of the office for today. I think they close at 4:30pm.

And I purposely didn't stop to buy any food or extra things at the supermarket on the way home because besides that huge chunk of $ I just used on laundry, I need to save in general. And i have some basics at home and don't need to be spending any more if I don't need to.

Morning eating, slept pretty well indeed, despite waking up a few times: strawberries around 100 most, bran with almond milk 150, and lemon cake halo top ice cream 120. blech. had enough of eating now. 370. gonna study in a little bit.  Home later for the holiday with my family.

almost 1pm: wrap with spicy mustard and chicken sausage (very good!!) 200.


And coffee. So around 600. And veggies 150

Big early meal around 3:30pm: 1000?

I made some sf jello to bring with me....I'll be sleeping over and watching a service tomorrow morning that is on TV for the Jewish New Year & want to bring some low calorie stuff over to be parent's place.

Finished laundry around 10am. So happy to be home today. Planning on staying home besides going to gym tonight. That's it.

Morning eating: plum 50, ice cream 250, chips 200, sauteed pumpkin 150: 650 or so. good. I want to get back on track with calories. Make it a low cal week - in the 1700's would be good. 

totally fell back to sleep later in morning like 11am till 1pm...needed the rest. I am so thankful for this extra time off and extra time in general in my schedule these next few days. It's helping me out so much.

1:30pm Lunch: healthy. Chicken sausage (precooked - found it in the refridgerated area at the supermarket!) but i grilled it anyways on the george foreman - because it obviously needs to be heated up and microwaving is GROSS for meat!) I did good. I will be using the George Foreman much more this year. So the chicken sausage on a wrap 200 cal total and sauteed eggplant with cabbage 200 also. 400 tops.

energy drink and water.

5:30pm Snack before gym: banana 120 and a really nice package of Special K pastry crisps in RED VELVET flavor! good 100. 220 here.

after gym: 550 - higher than planned but today was a great day.

1800 today. excellent. and a great workout, too.

A definite. Today was complete with getting a good sleep last night...laundry...followed by totally falling back to sleep from like 11am-1pm. I needed it & it's so nice to have this slower pace right now. Definite pampering will happen on Tuesday!
