Slept in a little bit, nice!  Great sleep & good plans for this weekend!

Snack: dark chocolate and stevia 80.

Breakfast: cold oats and almond milk with stevia 180, big cup of blueberries 100.

360. probably a coffee 50

410...still feeling a bit tired / cramps / but TOM not here. last couple times have been weird with symptoms a full week before PMSing. i hope they die down soon bc i feel like i'm being a little more rude to people in the midst of all of this!

small, healthy lunch: roll 120 with avo 80 and egg 70, smoked salt (love this). 270, something to drink also. 

Snacking: one more chocolate 80 after the concert, followed at close to 5pm by iced coffee back at home 50, protein bar back at home 200. 350. (trying to save room for a dinner, later!) ...gonna research the 19/20 districts i have researched now...then i'll just have one left to go...maybe i can finish both of them today :) then i just need to start buying tickets to things!

spiked seltzer and added extra stevia lol 100 cal, salad 50, awesome mushroom dish 50, awesome carrot with breadcrumbs and garlic dish 100! so good!...followed by a few roasted potatoes 100-150 (not much), wonderful chicken thigh 250?, and some chips though not a ton 150-200. big bite (literally) of tres leches cake (very tasty) 100 or less, later on a cookie 100, and lots of fruit 100. total here: 1150-1200.

2250, EXCELLENT and satisfying. healthy.

bc i kept portions regular, and didn't overindulge, calories worked out! but i'm still gaining weight,, so, must eat closer to 2000 per day trying harder during the week.

First on my plan is laundry and organizing. 11-1pm  DONE!

then going to a free concert 2-3pm at a long island library, not in queens as usual, should be an hour of folk guitar / jazz! Once there after the concert, i plan to research paris (maybe) as i won't be alone after the concert so this may not happen. otherwise, i may try to research at home :( i wish our libraries would be open later ...depending on the time, i may stop by my own library to do research, depends on timing as the library will only be open till 5pm, not 6pm like would be more convenient for me today lol. DONE!

I have to pick up seltzers before a get together at my friend's apt tonight, DONE!

starts around 7pm...i've decided to bring Seltzers, many (i was gonna do fruit, but someone asked me to switch and she is already having salad...so i've decided on several setlzers).

Sounds like a wonderful, fun day! (Except for those darn cramps!) I started to notice that PMS got to be a real issue when I turned 36.

Little extra padding on my waist. Pants are tighter for sure. Scale is a little up even on days when I feel light / not bloated it stays above 115 instead of 114 and the previous 112/114 around when I was going to Florida. Def like 3 lb gain which is a lot - not water fluctuation but actual gain / fat on abdomen / thighs

Going out tonight to dinner right after work, early one at 4:30pm which is fine as i eat always!, to go out to a show - seeing Comedian Jerry Sienfeld at 7pm.  It's a the Beacon theater which is only 20min away from my office by Public Transportation!

I feel as though it'll be that "TOM" very soon, as soon prob as i use the bathroom this morning at home lol. I'm glad, since that means it'll be GONE next month before i go to Paris, thank gosh!

Home: kombucha though i am bloated this week (i think PMSing) 50

Breakfast: mocha (hot chocolate and coffee mix from work) 100, Good Fats Bar (so good!) 200

snack: roll 120, 1/2 avo 150, turkey sausage 70: 350, chocolate 50

 lunch: leftover bean sprouts with dressing so good 150, leftover roasted eggplants 100, fish leftovers 150, crackers 150. total 550.

snack: almonds 100

light dinner: greek yogurt 110 with the last of my cooked cranberries so glad they weren't spoiled 50, blueberries 100. 250 and iced coffee 

during exercise: coconut water smaller serving 100

After exercise: small bar 200 :-) back to basics and less eating for awhile, i am thinking!

2000 cal day, quite PERFECT. time to decrease before Paris in April.

6day average: 2175. much better than previous days this week. perhaps i can eat today, although i'm eating out tonight, to balance out these cals! instead of a big cocktail drink, perhaps a shot or 2 will be enough!

tonight is upper body. will try to start early, 6:45pm.  there were train delays, so, i hope to start around 7pm.

since it was at home, and i'm not used to having a "leg day," i totally procrastinated, starting the workout around 8:30 or so? ending around 9:30 i think? it worked out, though it was weak. ...but i'm glad i got it done...and i DO think it's best to start separating legs from upper so that i am working out more often.

8:30am Breakfast: "good fats" coconut chocolate bar of which the texture is AMAZING, never ate anything like it! 210, coffee 50. 

10am snack:  small roll 120, 1/4 avo 80, turkey pepperoni 70 270-300

snack if needed before walk: cashews! 150 :) stayed away from chocolate so far!

lunch: veggies - got a ton 200 , some i might bring home to have with dinner, leftover 100, and crackers 150. 500 tops.

snack: pistashios / apple  chocolates 100, apple 100, 2 herbal teas

dinner: planning on it being healthier again, roll with egg and avo, veggies on side. ? or something similar...THE ROLLS I BOUGHT ON JUST REGULAR AND NOT FILLING..I SHOULD TRY WHOLE WHEAT OPTION NEXT! LIKE A MIX BETWEEN TOO HIGH FIBER AND TOO LOW FIBER!    healthy change of pace: extra blueberries 150, cooked eggplant smaller amount 50, cauliflower crust 250 very light one, yogurt 100 and a drink (low cal). 550, fine. i was full before finishing the cauliflower but ate it anyways, bc i really wanted that yogurt afterwards no matter what. weird, i know.

2000 cal, better...need more of these bc some of my pants are tight right now.!

5 day: 2211 (this is why i am gaining weight lol...time to think around 2000 per day, not 2200)

will do LEG EXERCISES tonight, four of them total with 3 sets each and most of them are done one leg at a time so i'm glad i separate legs from arms now. 

Leg exercises typically do not bother my legs when they are recovering from overuse...they are great exercises and i look forward to my 2 types of squats, lunges and toe raises!

legs tired, so no extra walking besides at lunch...and it means i can get home, get started on the leg exercies and get to bed at a more reasonable hour. need rest tonight! :)

friday after work is plans to see a famous comedian - Jerry Sienfeld! at the Beacon theatre which is around 100yrs old almost, in upper west side of NYC! never been there and of course this comedian is top of the class!

worked so slowly today at work, i didn't manage time well, worked slow and had to stay a half hour late to feel like i accomplished what i needed to....

def the chocolates and snacking have caused a couple pounds gain ...or maybe it's bloat also but i've gained...i'm still in binge mode but i sense an end...! it would be better if i am in Paris and not heavy to start...around all that .....food...bakery items...etc!

like donkey felt, i am feeling it now...gained a little since i returned from florida. it's been about 1.5 months back now. mostly eating high calorie the past few weeks.

4pm 1 chocolate 50  :-) SO GOOD. and a decaf green tea (second cup), couple sucking candies on way home 50

Dinner before workout: lots of lightly sauteed veggies 100-150, roll 120 with 2 egg whites 40, and 1/4 avo 80, blueberries 100. total here: 500

2050 :) tired, tired day. will do this workout and go to bed...got home a hair late too....

after workout: bar 200 - high fat keto type. trying it out! and plum also during.

Weight 115 on drs scale this AM sounds good to me ! In terms of BMI, it put me actually dead center for a healthy BMI /  ideal weight based on my weight and height. what more can i ask right?

today I have optical appt (9:30am) , full physical (11am-12pm) and dentist (5:45pm) all walking distance and within 15 min from my apt! I plan to stay out of the apt mostly and stay at the library to do Paris research as well as reply to my Paris friend since she sent me multiple different messages at the end of last week that I have yet to catch up on - I was waiting to do it today. On purpose I have few plans this afternoon so I can be relaxed at library to research - after I fill up my laundry card at housing office so I can continue to do laundry next weekend lol

snacking at dr: iced coffee 50, apple juice bc gave blood don’t need to pass out again 140, dark chocolate 80, bar bc couldn’t hold out ! 250

12:45pm lunch I am not going home - going to have sushi and miso soup I think. 650 and very filling! Also under $7 and actually good! Only cheap and convenient sushi place I know !

I ended up staying at the library from 1:30pm-4:30pm, used the bathroom and had a few drinks/chocolate but also did a fair bit of research making it a very well-spent day! I was glad not to stop back home at my place and researched enough and i'm satisfied with today! Usually, you can only use a computer for 30min, but, there wasn't many people needing one and there was no wait (extra computers were always available), so i had used the computer for 3hours no problem! so happy, once again, that i was doing this research at the library and not at my apartment! 

and then after library, i walked the short 10 min or so walk to the dentist. so easy! then i walked home, around 7pm with leftovers for dinner. what a great day!

i walked a little bit today but nothing to write home about! Probably, by day’s end, I’ll have walked around 2.5 miles that’s it. Good amount for really just a rest day.

A gray day here too - you're getting all the rain we had yesterday. Free car wash! My car looks so nice and clean, now that it's been thoroughly rinsed off!

...off to see mom and dad....going to give dad a haircut at his house and he'll drive us to the place mom is at for rehab until she can walk much better and bones are healed.

healthy lunch: salad with oil and vinegar 150 tasty!!!, and a chicken drumstick 200 with skin and a little extra chicken , good size of hard type of italian bread yum  200, some chocolates yum 50 and seltzer with stevia 600 tops

snack after visiting mom before errands: bulletproof apple pie (not again!) flavored bar - i always go for more dcadent chocolate / pb flavors. this was only thing available and not great. 200

dinner: leftovers from mom at her place bc we brought lunch so i brought her lunch home for dinner LOL why waste it!? a bigger piece of chicken breast slightly breaded but i took most off 200?, some salad (hardly any), some green beans 50, some mashed potatoes 150...i also had an apple 100 and small bag popcorn 100 total here: 600. good.

Later goals (approx 4pm?) when i'm back from Long Island and close to my apt: swing by Vitamin shoppe to pick up some amino drinks with my coupon :), swing by library in same area to pick up my reserved Paris travel guides! (4 in all!)...come back home and do leg workout, maybe also swing by a place where i can buy a leg muscle roller...as i don't have a foam roller and want a longer one that i dont have to use with my hands (right now i have a rod, but you have to work it on your leg by using your arms, i'd rather have a roller that i "roll over")

I hope you have a nice visit with your folks. Is mom home from the hospital?

Do you think your increased hunger is weather-related, emotional, or perhaps getting sick (referencing that odd feeling in your tongue)? Could it be something like that? Maybe it's just cyclical - sometimes we eat more, sometimes we eat less. (??)

mom left hospital but is in rehab...lots of work and time before she goes home due to the pelvic fracture and 7 ribs. the pelvis issue has caused difficulty to walk so she's in a wheelchair except for when a nurse is helping her.

the tongue thing was an irritation i think from a food - the mango rind candy mixed with tamarind that i had three of and the last one i was sucking on, instead of just chewing and swallowing, that irritated my throat. there are def times when i am on an "eating week!"

i'm taking tomorrow off - 3 dr's appts...glad to not be going to work. need a break.

Update about going into the electrrical subway field yesterday: seeing a lot of older men (50s and 60s) in great shape reminded me how office work isn't going to help me become a court officer and how much exercise changes in my routines will be needed to get cardio under control. men in the field are so fit not only from their jobs, but these men also keep their health in check to be able to do their jobs by doing ADDITIONAL cardio after work and weights. there's a reason why they look so fit - and it's not due to genetics on their part. Just in a workday, they are walking well over 5 miles whereas with my commute without added walking, i'm only at 1.5-2 miles for the day. that's why the 2.5 miles days are so important. but it just goes to show how a physical job just puts them in a whole different fitness category compared to office workers trying to get a little exercise into a sedentary day!  Most of the men, many!, in the field (big project) are prob closer to 30's-50's age group and look surpringly better (above avg) compared to the general population that's not in hands-on labor type of jobs.  but it's not only due to a physical job..it's bc their lifestyles are in general more active even on weekends.

Indulgent lunch: roasted eggplant 150?, roasted peppers 100?, seared tuna 200? maybe more, and these wantons filled with shrimp, 5 of them and at least 50 cals each if not a hair more as they were extremely dense type of wantons 350. 800. VERY big lunch, really satisfied now and basically happy. slightly indulgent, but, pleasantly full. 

close to 4pm snack: dark choc lava truffle..says only 50 cals do i believe it? by godiva.

5pm Snack 2: apple 100

6pm chocolate and tea, still at work wanting to finish something :) 150

Dinner: on walk coffee, later a bar total 300

My my plan is to separate my abs/upper body workouts from leg days.  I am not in love with my home workouts being so long anymore.

Legs workouts are shorter and not as strenuous and will be good to do separate from upper as upper is a much longer program (approx double the amount of workouts as i do for legs) and I’m fed up with how long my home workouts have become, many days i end well after 10pm.  

Breaking upper and lower exercises up, for at least a couple months until end of April, will help me get to bed early so I don’t have to be so tired anymore on days following workouts as it's not helping me feel good at work or get thru the week well anymore.

I'm ready to work on this and how i can make the exercise a better fit with my commute and lifestyle. I'll work on this more.  Lately, i've skipped cardio on weekends at least for the past month. This weekend i'll start adding walking back in as the weather will be better around 50F not  25F like it was the past few days. I'm looking to get into moving more, being more positive and getting on track.

Just today a male coworker who also changed his commute since summer to here with less walking now, has complained he gained 20lbs this winter bc his lifestlye / work commute changed.

It just goes to show that little changes add up either positively or negatively. in his, coworker's case, lack of exercise and wintertime more at home led to 20lbs gain..over the course of the fall/winter.

I'm really happy today is Friday and also that i skipped all leg exercises last night.

I was able to get more sleep and now i am considering breaking up my workouts again ?  the full body workout is starting to be too much on worknights...but then i have to workout many days, i have to think about this!

I agree: a desk job isn't going to do you any favors as far as physical fitness or training. I sometimes wonder if I would be better off working at a big box store, walking around, etc., than sitting at my desk. Thank goodness my FitBit reminds me to get up every hour to walk around. That is the EXACT reason why I upgraded my FitBit, because the old one didn't have that reminder function.

A change in weights routine sounds really good!

yes, soon those nights of sleeping late because "it's workout night" are going to be gone :) i will have to soon (after the trip) consider how i will get myself running :)

until then, workouts will be broken up, except for the weekend ones, though, we'll see i might even break those up!

legs for me can easily be done any time of day, it's an easier set of exercises bc i do NOT push myself to the same stress as i put on my upper body. too many past injuries to exercise my lower body in such a forceful way, so, i can easily see myself even doing legs separate from arms even sometimes on weekends. by doing them separate from arms, all workouts will be shorter and not so "marathon-like" as i do NOT really enjoy them anymore being so long :)

yeah, higher cal week by me, but, i also will be more careful on weekend. I'm not stressing, as i also have been walking less and know i can easily do a little better so i know once i make slight changes, i'll feel good :)

600 typical stuff before lunch.

all morning i was in field going thur the work going on with my PM. it was cold and we were on our feet walking easily 1.5 hours...gets me tired....LOL, i'm not used to walking on the job! she had an easier time and i was following her around... 

lunch dessert was chocolates 150 (cold and tired after the morning and totally indulged), fresh veggies 100, and an indulgent half a large wrap 200, turkey 100, avocado 100, sauce 50. 700..need HOT tea now!

CASHEWS 100, THROAT LOZENGE, CLEMENTINE 50

dinner wrap 80, avocado 80, egg 80, iced coffee 50: 300, overflowing cup of blueberries 100 (in more for more balance, not a sugary bar).  back of tongue is very irritated yup!

snacks and after workout 400

2250 total :)

2155 per day, 6 day

 some of legs will be skipped due to the walking earlier today, just done for, and i'd rather get to bed relatively early tonight. really don't wanna be sick :)  so, i think this is my best bet - solid upper body and rest :)

my supervisor has been annoyed lately at managment, i'd be without direction if she were to leave...i think she's just talk at this point and she'll stay at least a year longer.

Progress as of today: -0.5 lbs lost so far, only 1.5 lbs to go!
