...as WorkingIt put it, I've been having a sorta good spell. LOL. I do feel the need to get into better physical shape...I want to walk longer periods in the morning. Today, even though this month is "25 minute month in the AM," I walked 30 min. Actually, I now want to do at least 30 and that is what i'll do! :)

calorie wise, i had a heavy heavy snack after school. Lots of bulk to it. It was a zucchini souffle and a large butternut squash souffle. I really hope the calorie count is accurate from what the package says. I did even weigh the products. They weigh more than the package says, so I upped the calories. Still, I'm nervous!

calories: hopefully i'm right and it's 1480 :) that's fine by me.

yes, i did have veggie burgers today. I will probably do the same tomorrow as I don't want to use the george foreman to grill any turkey burgers tonight... I could have cottage cheese and pumpkin for lunch, but we'll see...

exercise = 1.5 hours :)

I have realized that as long as I stay happy and self confident, i do in fact eat better. Not kidding one bit. After having a wonderful Friday night, I felt like I had to do everything right for myself on Saturday. Sunday this changed a bit and thankfully I had some things to do which took my mind off of food!

YAY for good days! Staying positive is a VERY BIG part of my own food success-good that you have found your key. Even so it's not possible to be positive ALL the time or to eat PERFECTLY all the time. So what's wrong with 90-95% of the time - nothing. :o) Holly

so far, 1300 cal.

eating was not so great today. lot's of processed foods, although they didn't have much sugar. the plan for later is some cottage cheese made with some good fiber, cinnamon, and sweet and low in it. I will have it with pumpkin. weird but good.

around 1550 cal for the day.

exercise 1.5 hours.

25 hrs, 35 min :) better.

Thanks for the comments you left me. Yeah, I know I need to start eating more vegetables again. I just got lazy and forgot about making healthy snacks in favour of more convenient options!

My husband and I have no choice but to celebrate Thanksgiving alone, because we have no friends or family, haha! At least, not here in France. You know, if you want to get away from your family, that's the best way to do it - move to a foreign country! My husband's parents sent him an e-mail telling him the best time to call them to wish them a happy Thanksgiving. They're filthy rich, but they never call us because it's too expensive. Well, isn't it just as expensive for us to call them?!

Yeah, my husband is the same age as me - just a few months older. We also met online, you know! It wasn't a dating service - it was a chat room for a band we both like (The Smiths). We were just friends at first. He was in America while I had just moved to France, and anyway, he had a live-in girlfriend at the time!! He's Jewish too, by the way.

The transportation strike here is over now so I don't have to run to work any more. It was kind of a problem getting "ready to start the day", as you put it, because there aren't any showers here. Luckily I don't sweat much, especially in the winter, but I still had to run with my work clothes in a backpack and then change into them in the toilets when I got to work. I also washed up a bit at the sink and fixed my hair, make-up, etc. I did see another girl doing the same the same thing, though, so it can't be that crazy!

I wish I could eat cottage cheese, that would just make my life so much easier. I just can't handle the consistency of it, though. Blugh... But, hey, you go girl!!!! Eat it up for me!!

Both the prepared souflees that I bought weigh more than they say they do because I checked. Much more. 280 calories more!

total calories: 1545. could have been worse! :)

total exercise: 2 hrs. (it's probably a little under 2 hours, but I'm being nice to myself and counting it as 2 hours!)

total = 24 hrs, 5 min ... getting better :)

bad eating schedule.

I did have some salt/processed foods but they did have some health value to them. I had a who zucchini soufflee and a butternut squash souffle. lol. some poached salmon. two small hamburgers. pumpkin. coffee. two plum tomatoes. what a mix!

You know what I'd rather be doing? I'd rather be with my friend from Florida who is here. He's the one I saw last night at the bar. I KNOW it would have been a good time if I got to go out with him tonight...to like dinner and a movie. We get along well.

It's been a good 3 days off so far. I've hang out with several friends and it's been a good time! :)

edit: and I binged. 2550 today. still low carb though. but crap!

hello everyone. so, i guess we all survived Thanksgiving!

I'm looking foward to a nice, long stroll around the park today. I've been sitting around so much and i know how important it is to get more exercise in so I can feel better about myself. So, today I'll be doing some exercise, possibly reading, and going to the supermarket to pick up some things that will prevent carb cravings. Online, I was looking at a site that listed oatmeal substitutes. I thought that this was great: cottage cheese with cinnamon and splenda/equal/sweet n low. then, microwave it!!! It has the same consistancy is oatmeal! how cool!

I also made myself something really cool this morning. 3/4 cup egg whites mixed with one scoop of chocolate protein powder. Microwave for one minute, mix. Microwave about 1 1/4 minutes longer, it should get REALLY fluffy and rise as its cooking. Take it out of the microwave and you get a huge puff that is full of protein and can taste like whatever protein powder you used! LOL. I ate this on a turkey burger. I've been eating so strange lately. But, it was all protein.

This entry is really for yesterday. my computer was sick with a nasty virus...but i think it may be all better! :)

yesterday's exercise: 1 hr.

total: only 20 hrs, 25 min.

this has not been a great exercise month. but, there's still room for improvement. I think I may increase my morning exercise and try to go to bed earlier so I'm not as tired as I have been over the past couple of weeks. as far as these 4 days are concerned, I plan on going to the gym everyday except today because it's closed. also, if the weather is nice...and it is today, I ought to take a walk outside! :) Now, I need to not get so nervous about this. for some reason, i sometimes get nervous and overeat when i'm thinking about exercise or increasing exercise. not sure why.

My plan is to wake up at 6am for now on. walk a 45 minutes or mix walking with my "leg magic." Then, stretching/abs for 15 min. 7am shower and breakfast. I'm going to try having breakfast after working out again.

yesterday's calories: 2060. satisfying, lower carb. :)

edit: I found the low glycemic (but high carb) cookies in my house and of course I ate them. lol. so, 400 more calories than i thought. today's cals were: 2700. oh well. I almost went for other high calorie stuff just now but I stopped myself. :)

exercise: 1 hour. gotta burn off some of those carbs...i ate those cookies at 10 pm!

total exercise: 21hrs, 25 min.


I feel like whenever I go low carb, it's so easy to stay that way once I've been doing it a few days or a week. My body gets used to the less refined carbs (even though I do still have fruit/some starchy veggies) and I'm able to get through my days well. But, if I take a day off, it's all downhill and I forget that drive I have to succeed at eating this selective way.

I want to go to school on Monday a couple pounds lighter. This can happen if I stay away from most salt, some is okay, and I stick to low carb. I want to begin to feel better in my clothes. Like I said, I will be buying litte as it's a big money waster and I don't have extra to spend frivolously this year. In the past couple years, all I did was drop money on clothes, beauty pampering stuff, nails, waxing, and the dry cleaners. I must say, at that time, it felt great to be able to do all those things. You know, if I had the money now, I'd probably be doing the same thing. Sadly, I'm on a budget now. And, most of my clothes are too small and can't be worn!! I want to fit into those smaller ones! :)

I need to go to the store, before it's too late and I get a craving that can't be subsided!!!, to get some healthy alternatives. I've been mixing chocolate protein powder into yogurt. It's tasty. like chocolate pudding/yogurt! I need to buy some other things. FAST! :)

total cal: i wouldn't believe if it was more than 2500!! :) today was a good day. I did have some sweet potatoes/potatoes...but no processed carbs! I'm proud of that! :) :) :) My plan is, for at least 2 months, to stick to eating NO processed carbs.

You may laugh, but I can up with a good idea. I know it would taste good. I make many turkey burgers/hamburgers/any burger! on the George Foreman Grill. Then, I store them in tubberware in the fridge. I take one out and top it however I like! I tell you, you can make believe it's dough!!! You can make a pizza on it! Cheese and sauce. Sometimes, I top with yogurt. LOL. It makes something very satisfying. I know this is definitely unusual, but it works!

I really want to buy myself some fish. I'm going to have to buy cooked fish because my mom will not let me make any. I'd like to buy salmon or some other FATTY fish that has good oils in it because I think it'll help my skin. I'm trying to think of other fish that might be good...white fish sounds tasty. I'll see what the selection is when I go. I will NOT buy shrimp/scallops because I don't find them filling...and they're expensive!!!

a good, low carb day. 1500 cal. i feel good because i ate good.

first time i had meat, if you consider chopped meat for a hamburger good meat, in a long time!!! It feels good to get that iron and solid food in me, rather than soy stuff.

i also bought a lot of spaghetti squash. i plan on eating it often for a couple weeks at least.

exercise could have been better. I'm giving myself 1 hr, although most was on a bike and I even counted some ab work.

i totall f---ed up, to put it mildly...

i ate REALLY well, all day.

then, i came home, started off healthfully, then ate two apples, TONS of peanut butter, two sugary yogurts, 1/4 of a pumpkin pie, 1/5 of a pecan pie.

total cal: 4,000. arg.

exercise: 30 min.

my plan for exercise is to do at least one hour this evening (I did 20 min this morning, should have been 25 though)

18 hrs, 35 min.

Oh, {{Hugs}}. The winter months and holidays always seem harder on us dieters. Those darned desserts and snacks seem to have an emotional connection for most of us.

Don't beat yourself up over the slip. We've all done it. Jump back in with both feet. Grab your water bottle. Slide into those trainers. Get moving. It will make it easier to make it through the holidays if you get through this one event and make a plan to enjoy dinner and (of course) have dessert with your meal and then find something else to do besides eat.

I know that you can do this. We all can.

overall, the day ended up being a good one and I had a great time meeting up with my friend in New Jersey! We really enjoyed each other's company very much! I have known her since 2000 when we started college together.

food was good, especially since it was 1350 cal and I don't think I went overboard with the salt either.

I'm going to be limiting my salt intake (but not worrying about it on holidays like thanksgiving). I will finish the crab and scallop cakes that i have that do have salt. But, other than that, I will be staying away from all prepared meals and veggie burgers etc. I will be eating more grilled poultry, fish, and meat. I want to loose some water weight and then loose more weight from there. My first goal is 110. It is my goal to reach that number by February 1st. I think I do have a good shot. My objective is to not get disappointed and give up because of feeling fat or overwhelmed! Very doable, i say! :) oh, and exercise will NOT fall by the wayside.

goodnight all, enjoy these 3 days before the deadly Thanksgiving! just kidding!

Good for you on the calories. It's hard when you eat out and around the holidays. Salt isn't a big issue for me as I drink alot of water to flush it out. Hope your holiday is nice.

Sunday entry:

breakfast was slightly larger than expected. When i woke up, i could feel the nasty effects of all the sugar and sodium. My body is swollen and shakey. after eating it got better.

i had 380 cal. (a crab cake that i cooked last night with the burgers - yes it is a processed food but i wanted to use them since they've been in my freezer for at least 6 months and they were expensive, with pumpkin, a tomato, and an additional chicken burger that i had. I can say I'm definitely satisfied now.

Saturday Entry:

4350 cals.

tomorrow i'm going to NJ to see a friend who lives in that state. we're gonna meet for lunch and a movie. of course, meeting for lunch has me all antsy....because i DON'T like going out to eat.

interestingly, i was looking online at the requirements to by a NY police officer and I actually weigh too much!!!! yeah! that's right! for my height, 124/125 or whatever it is that I weight now, is too much! I'm all the way at the high end! worse, my weight is fat, not muscle! I wouldn't become a cop anyway, but I'm sad that my weight has changed so drastically.

i miss my days of childhood intuition eating. i stopped when satisfied and i didn't binge.

The only way i know how to loose weight is to diet. and everytime i'm successful, i ruin my progress with a couple binges. If only i can be satisfied without stuffing myself. I have got to eat less volume, then i would have such an easy time controlling calories. now, i eat the right foods, usually! but i eat like 3 servings at a time.

I just need to curb my appetite. I need to eat less. I should find eating 1200 cals a day easy, considering all the low cal food i eat. this is plain pathetic, i tell ya.

alright, i do have a plan, although making one after a binge usually doesn't ever work. no processed meals. more meat and veggies. I am going to eat more high quality proteins (chicken/turkey burgers, fish, and meat like hamburgers (I know the exact calorie info of a burger) I think the addition of meat will help me with the binging. I think the extra iron will be helpful.

haha, no veggie burgers! yes, i've said it. until i loose 15 pounds i'm going to lay off all processed meals and veggie burgers. that way, i'll be having much less sodium and the "quick" weight loss at the beginning will keep me motivated till the end of this 15 pound weight loss journey. Now, I have to plan my goals...

truth is, by the end of January, I should be able to weigh 110 without any drastic measures.

I need to reapply fitness to my routine as I am getting lazy with evening workouts. I will also commit myself further to the gym.

i'm going to cook chicken and turkey burgers to have for the week and head off to the gym...

btw, i didn't get anything done today. not one thing.

i agree with fritters, i don't know what it is about this season, but we all seem to be struggling. Let's stick together, you can do this HoP! Oh, and I'm AMAZED that your current weight is too heavy for the NYPD. Even at 5'2, 125 doesn't seem too heavy to me. What is their target weight? Just curious!
