Slept thru alarm but got ready but hair late bc bus issues too! no issue though, we are good and i'm here, awake at work!
I have been having lots of emotions as of late. I was really mean to my sister in how i let her know i didn't approve of her actions or rather inaction. i may have gone overboard especially that she's pregnant, but i cannot apologize at all because if i do apologize then she will take it as i was wrong...which i don't want....my bday was another interesting time with my parents...and i was extremely confrontational on fb messages to my sister letting her know 100% i didn't approve of her not wishing me a happy bday on facebook...i called her selfish for knowing that i like facebook but not thinking of me to wish me a bday there. i told her i had to defriend her, because she had told me she's not into facebook, wasn't on it all day (doubt that) and that she'd prefer not to wish me a happy bday there...which i thought was strange. so, i defriended her..i'll write about it on my page....
also, my sister told me that facebook isn't the real world ... and that she'd rather wish me a happy bday in real world...she also stopped liking my posts...and would tell my parents about my posts....so....she's totally unfriended as i cannot trust her anymore unfortunately. she thinks she always knows best, many times she can give good advice, but as of late she does nothing.
i do understand she's pregnant and under stress, but her behavior has always been similar in regards to this kinda behavior...i cannot give her any extra understanding...especially as the one thing i like about FB is the communication...and the people closest to me are the ones I expect to care my about me on my bday.
I am not sure why she didn't leave me a message. she could have done it on the over an hour ride from NYC to my parent's house on my bday.
she didn't call or text me on my bday...she did show up with a beautiful bouquet of flowers that they picked up on the way over from a store close to them in NYC....
i don't know, i am not sure....i just didn't want to give her any leeway...
there was a wedding she couldn't attend at least minute on 8/25...she still hasn't mailed her check to them as of this weekend...
she's not considering anyone but herself.
i understand she's pregnant, but not her thinking process.
she had told me she's too busy to text me back a little ways ago, that she's working and pregnant and unable to respond to me. i didn't like that either.
and i invited her to my bday party on facebook, she chose not to respond either a yes or a no. she just simply ignored it, but did see it.
eh, i just think she should be a little more communicative.
and for facebook, if i'm close with you, and you are on fb, and i like things of yours and posts with you in them, and i see you are a little active, but you don't correspond to me and i feel it should be since you are a good friend or my SISTER, i do take it personally, and delete you. to me, when i had other friends posting photos of kids and i would comment and like them, i would have liked those people i deleted to support me.
to me,facebook should be equal (unless the person is hardly on there or posting...)
my sister doesn't post much, but i know she goes on here and there. i just didn't love her answers back to me....and i took it to heart a bit too much.
eh, i cannot apologize. on her bday, i'll text her plainly happy bday. nothing else. i won't see her....maybe i'll leave a voice text message of happy bday. nothing more. i had enough of my sister these days...
just feeling bad i was so mean with her and she's pregnant...but not up to apologize because i have to stand up for my principles.

no exercise today. day off. but errands galore :) It is the Jewish New Year and I did take the day off...but I have been so busy that I have decided to do personal errands on this day instead of home with parents watching the services. I needed to take the time to finish / take care of things that are semi-time sensitive:

DONE - Registering for MDA Muscular Dystropy walk fundraiser and Kidney Foundation Walks - one is in October and one is in November :)..SIGNUPS ONLINE and i wanted to do this at work, but work has been busy and i keep taking too much time away from work lately, so this is a big time waster so i decided to do signups at home, especially because i'm signing up two friends along with me as well! - DONE!
1. Pull $100 from my secondary back account that i don't use and the $100 is just sitting there for over a year when i could make use of that money better in my primary account right now!...and looking later on this year into transferring all the CD account from the secondary bank to my primary bank so once again i am banking in ONE bank, not two.
2. Drive to UPS & Library since my printer isn't hooked up i'll use the libary's - Returning amazon 30lb foam coated weighted rod for weightlifting because it is so much heavier feeling than the 30lb barbell at gym! I have to also print the return stickers at the library...and go to UPS to affix them on there...and fix up the packaging which got semi-destroyed when it was originally shipped to me....I ORDERED 20LB WEIGHTED BAR INSTEAD :) TO COME SOON!
3. Return another Amazon package - same as Item #2, just another small package! which didn't work out also - also involving weightlifting - rubber grips for the handles...but when i put the grips on the handles, they become way to big in circumferance for my small hands so i'll use the dumbells without the grips...just my own gloves will do...
3A. also at library, print tickets for Nelson Mandela Grandson speaking event at local library, FREE!
4. Pick up the photos that were developed at CVS from my disposable camera - they called a day ago only that the photos are ready :)
5. Hang my last wall mural in my kitchen :) finally, with Ricky
DONE 6. figure out prices and buy groupons for visiting Ground Zero / One World Observatory...i have a friend from Australia, female, coming to stay in NYC..and i'm meeting her for a day of tourism!!!!! She gladly accepted my offer to see this site and I'm gladly finally seeing it with her...she will be really great company! :) :) :) I haven't seen her since i was 20 and we were music camp counselors in upstate NY....i'm lucky for FB. DONE...looked at the 2 options and left it up to her :) one includes a full tour, which i particularly like guided tours and planned events...and the other is tickets to the observatory and we could walk around ourselves...left her with the options :) DONE.

tomorrow is a HUGE gym day, so i don't want a thousand other activities going on...because i plan on it being very big with snacks (i eat up to two bananas usually on days where i spend extra time at the gym) at gym and probably over 3 hours working out if i can ride to gym on bike - unless it rains. then, my gym workout i plan to spend 2.5-3 hours there without biking.
cooking some cauliflower fried rice - this is a definite!!!!!!!!!!!
researching a good slow cooker cabbage recipe
looking into cooking bags for my slow cooker (gift from friend) to get new cooking bags so i don't have to clean it much every time i use it!
cleaning the hamster cage either today or tomorrow - this is a MUST!
adding money to my laundry card at housing office - can wait till next week if i want...but need to get on top of this :)

I am gearing up for a gym workout...it will be on the lighter side, i'm sore in my lower half from yesterday's parade. afterwards, i'm going home to celebrate the New Year holiday with my family and my bday...a rush of a day, but it is what it is and thankful for it...i just gotta get out of this apt or i'll have to rush everything before seeing my parents, needing to get there around 3pm..which is quite early.
I turned 36 today and feel good about it. Overall, 35 had major challenges and changes regarding working and commutes and new coworkers and offices. It became VERY difficult with exercise and cardio and for awhile i was stuck and constantly falling behind due to scheduling issues and getting pretty sick in January. In the end though, I finished the year strong and caught up to where I pretty much was this time last year!!!I Cardio is pretty decent now.
I see 36 as more straighforward. I think my opportunity to grow and become stronger will stay attainable all year long :)
I had a good, but extremely tiring, day yesterday walking in the Labor Day Parade...it's a big change to sitting at a desk all day...being up on feet from around 11-3pm straight...it's good for me, glad i went...and reinforces the importance to keep working out!

Saturday i was out all day....celebrating and Marching with the electrical union of NYC in the NYC Labor Day Parade. it was cool coincidence because of all the subways and stops we could get off, my typical work route was the way we took to get to the parade, getting off at the same exact subway stop (there's so many in NYC) that i get off everyday for work. The parade happens to be right near Rockefeller Center and that's also where i work!
I've not been commenting as much bc it's been a very fast paced couple weeks & will stay that way until this coming Monday, tomorrow!

An article i came across this morning, my way of eating:
“Everyone wants to lose weight quickly, and many people make the mistake of being too restrictive,” explains Torey Armul, M.S., R.D., C.S.S.D., spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
True fat loss generally occurs at a rate of between 0.5 and two pounds per week. Any weight lost faster than that is either coming from water weight or muscle mass—especially if you’re seriously cutting calories. “The body finds fuel where it can,” explains Armul. “When there aren’t enough calories coming in, the body can actually break down muscle tissue for energy.”
When this happens, your metabolism takes a hit, explains Lisa R. Young, Ph.D., R.D., adjunct professor of nutrition at New York University and author of The Portion Teller Plan. Muscle helps you burn more calories at rest, so when you lose that lean tissue, your weight loss can screech to a halt.
Not to mention, when you drastically cut calories, you’re more likely to feel deprived and end up overeating when you do treat yourself—which can lead to weight gain if it becomes a pattern.
Sound familiar? If so, eating more—more of the right foods, that is—may be exactly what you need to finally start seeing the results you crave and drop fat for good.
“You shouldn’t be hungry when you’re trying to lose weight, and if you are, you’re not going to sustain it,” says Young. If you feel hungry throughout the day, you’re either not eating enough of the right foods, or enough calories overall.
“You need a certain amount of calories every day just to live, breathe, move, and support every cell and function in your body,” says Armul. Eating enough of the right foods helps you work better, sleep more soundly, crush stress, and burn more calories when you work out—all good things for your waistline.
Now, there’s no way around the fact that you still need to be in a caloric deficit to shed pounds—but if you load up on foods that are high in filling nutrients but low in calories, you can achieve that calorie deficit and reach your goals without stress or calorie-counting.
Of course, certain foods will have to go. Sugary breakfast cereals, frozen pizzas, chips, and fried foods, which are high in calories but provide little nutritional value and don’t fill you up, are off the menu. Think of it this way: You want as many forkfuls (or volume) as possible for as few calories as possible—and you can’t do that eating Hot Pockets.
Now, the fun part: Fruits and vegetables, which contain lots of water and fiber (fiber is super-filling and keeps you satisfied between meals), provide tons of nutrition for very few calories—so you can load up on things like veggie-based soups, leafy greens, watermelon, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, and more without the possibility of going overboard on calories

I want progress on Fitness in September, but instead it might just turn to maintenance as the last couple weeks i've only been to the gym 2x instead of 3x due to my own choice mostly.
It's been a VERY busy week - activities every single night and home around 8pm every single night, i'm glad that i have tons of leftovers and food at home so that i have been not using additional money on lunches here at work.
For a week that was supposed to be easy with gym days, i've been so distracted with other events that were both optional and necessary, that i've skipped the gym since the weekend. I have definitely had one less gym day this week. but that's in the past. and i can only go to the gym tonight at my earliest convenience, before i drop off old license plates at my dad's work so he receives them from me tomorrow!...of course another errand before gym this week!...and just keep on.
Nothing is perfect. Life is not always as planned. Things come up. That's the theme of this week.

I am working to CONTINUE making MAJOR changes in my life this year. It WILL require that I remember i need to schedule ample time to attain certain goals. With a new start of school year in my area and my bday approaching, my mind jumps to my own progress and goals. I am now able to run a mile decently. The only goal i have is to get BETTER at it. FASTER. I know how. I'm doing well. All i have to do is keep practicing. For this first time in many years, I'm really improving without having major setbacks...it feels wonderful.

Skipped breakfast bc wasn't really hungry at all and figured i really splurged yesterday anyway!

snack: whipped cream (back on the kick for awhile, yes) and sf jello 150.
Plans for eating at the party: mostly veggies, a frank if they cook them...diet soda / water...i could always have a small serving of chips, but that's it...not overdoing it there as my cals for the week are already higher than i'd like...!
before jog and bike..did this when i got home around 7pm...worked out so well!

Up and at 'em early...went for a MAJOR food shopping around 9am and home by 10:30am :) Went to a larger supermarket and loaded up on my favorites, snacks, fruits, veggies, and a package of ground chicken to make some healthy burgers for this week.
I am in the midst of having another busy few weeks in September before my birthday which is Sept. 9th so i bought enough things so that i only need to shop now for perishables each week...basically. loaded up on "fun items and snacks" so i'm good for awhile now..until the weekend surely.

I haven't had enough recovery time from my last workout this past Saturday so i'm going to do CARDIO today. which is even more important :) there will be an emphasis on CARDIO this month especially thru the New Year. :)

Seller on EBAY doesn't want to sell me the $30 workout bench lol bc they said it's not good enough anymore to sell !? so i'll have to look again on both AMAZON and facebook deals that are local :) I also will need to buy more workout equipment, gradually.. i need the longer weight bar in addition to the dumbells...the BARBELL so i can also squat at home with weights. i'm splurging a bit as of late and will hvae to go into my savings to cover the purchases...i may have to change how i'm saving my funds to 401k so that my paycheck is a little bigger so i can perhaps add to my current savings that i draw from...i should increase the money in the account i think...but for now i think i'll just pull from it to cover some purchases...and NEXT YEAR maybe i'll lessen my 401k contributions...we'll see...it's better to save now but lately i am DEF spending more than i have in my checking to cover..not a big deal...but i have to decide to either spend less or make up for it a different way.
