4pm Edit: so far I cooked up eggs and also the packages of chicken and beef burgers I had before they spoil...I also roasted some potatoes. the cauli rice will wait till another time as i still have leftover veggies for friday and tomorrow i'm going out for lunch (yes i'll work tomorrow) bc a friend from Australia female i know is coming and i've invited my coworkers to meet her!... Later tonight I'll prob make cauli fried rice

9AM wrap 100, 1 pc salami and one hard boiled egg 100, large portion avocado 150, strawberries 50. 400..kombucha 100 perhaps will make me feel better...

12;30 lunch: veggies and some dressing 200, tofu 100, wrap 100, and i think goldfish crackers 100. 500.

almost 3pm before bikng &  jogging: couple kashi dark chocolate chip oatmeal cookies (will not buy again because they are not single packaged and that's part of the reason i ate 2 and not one) and coffee 300 total.

I may not even cook, may just come home from jogging and read and eat leftovers. not sure how the time goes so fast! it's almost 3pm already..

.i'll go out soon to exercise, first coffee and a little reading.

Glad at got my laundry done...the next time i do it will be next Saturday a week from this one i think!

during run big banana 150

Dinner: beef burger i made 250 tops and italian bread leftovers good amount 200? then some ice cream also 250. total: 700, good

total is just fine: 2150 - fine especially considering i did some exercise! whenever i add in cardio (jogging) i burn MUCH more calories. i'm not worried like at all...!

5day: 2130 or so :) good!

exericise: 20-25 minutes on bike, just over a mile jogged, a mile or so walked 

rest of the day i was reading / relaxing on couch...as well as ordering gifts, paying bills. was a GREAT day off. not rushed at all!

Today i could have fasted in observance with Yom Kippur but instead, i have chosen to observe the day of fast and forgiveness of sins by taking off work and doing some necessary chores like laundry, cleaning up and organizing mail, something i like to do but don't do enough like cooking, and also a bike/jog at the nearby track because it's a challenge to fit in when i'm working the typical 5 days a week and it's been my goal to improve this month...which i am totally enjoying doing.

I won't be running around too much today, because on Saturday i will have a really busy day doing tourist stuff with a female friend from Australia that is touring NYC for a second time. :) she asked if i had time to spend with her...and i gladly accomodated!

If i were to fast and sit home with parents, i'd be behind in my fitness goals and fasting just wastes muscle and tires the body more...it's not in the cards for this year. i honestly feel God would rather see me planning / reaching for my goals and challenging myself to be better in the way i have chosen to use this day. This holiday occurs 8 days after the New Year, which was 8 days ago :)

Life is give and take. I will have VERY minimal days off after this month until January when i'm picking up my suitcase and traveling to Florida for two weeks to stay with a friend. I am going to message her today, to let her know again that during the week, my goal is to get to the gym 3x a week and continue with my routines...I'm going there to get out of this cold place.

Down the road, perhaps i can visit her annually, if it goes well this time, as a nice respite from NYC Winters! :) She is a traveling friend of mine. Although i'm only 36, i am planning to travel with her again perhaps when i'm turning 40, or maybe earlier. It Depends how training is going and depends on my occupation and if there are changes before i am 40 ! She's a great friend and i'm glad she has always invited me down to Florida.

I have a dear friend who suggests fasting as a way to reconcile oneself to the abuse the Catholic church has committed. I'm sorry, but that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. How does fasting help anything? Except to distract those who should protest. Sheesh...

it is a practice that is definitely a long, old, deep-traditional practice...and being that i do not actively attend temple or practice, and with my schedule...i agree with you.

when fasting, it's best if you attend temple on that day, for you will be distracted of your hunger by the service and have all around you at the temple fasting too. also my parents do well, together fasting, watching it at home...

i just couldn't do it. once in awhile, i do it more as a health task for my body to take a break, eat well later that night...but i only enjoyed it when i was with my parents observing together.

i couldn't fathom taking a vacation day off work to FAST. not this year, i oberserved the holiday how i could :) thanks for your thoughts, appreciated!! and agree for now.

Got to work 20 min early, could have been more, but on the way i stopped at a large deli to pick up oatmal as well as a banana for a more carb-centered meal for easy energy. 

Oatmeal (made with skim milk) 250 and put in some fixings 150.  banana and coffee 200. 

Snack: tbd really shakey and anxious....maybe too much caffeine and carbs. proten bar 200

so hungry this morning, i had a second snack close to 11am of a whole serving of peanuts. 150 or so.

Lunch: from home: wrap, 100, salami 100, egg 50. 250. veggies with a little dressing. 200. 450. 5 small chocolates 50.  It was a more filling lunch. :)

for some reason, i've been abnormally tired and hungry today...i'll let even thinking about it pass!...happy to leave soon...i may leave 2:30 instead of 2pm.

snack: fruit 100, natural fruit/nut bar 220, seltzer w stevia...320..

after gym, 9pm: 2 plums 100, wrap 50, with tuna 100 and avocado 100: 350

2120.

Dinner after gym & relaxing tonight, sleeping in tomorrow...will not see parents for the Midweek holiday. instead, tomorrow i'll concentrate once again on biking / jogging. I am picking up the pace with getting this activity in - things are progressing a bit in the fact i'm actually jogging as of late! I can still run a mile, though i hope it'll start to hurt less and less lol...it's not an easy mile....YET! if i jog Wednesday, i'll do splits of walking / jogging without doing a mile all at once...to work on pace. things are really good as of late.

Home early leaving at 2pm after lunch...i'll have a snack, pick u my sneakers, and drive to gym. car is in front of my apt bldg where i left it since Sunday eve, so that's good. I may also drop off a package at UPS, instead of waiting to do it on Wednesday :) YES!

yeah, trying to get last minute errands out of way today instead of doing them on Wednesday...i will get busy end of this month, so while i can rest and relax Wednesday a lot of the day...i will...and i like to cook, by freeing time on Wednesday, i can at least cook a little bit and explore recipes if i get a chance...or at least start to look them up for new recipes i want to try in a crock pot that i was given!

So is there a certain time that you have to get down to for running the mile for the test? If so, how far away from that time are you presently?

it is a different test, i'll write about it later...it's more based on speed than endurance...it's short bursts...not a mile...and actually, it's under a mile...but if i got into the court officer academy, then we would run miles...so i have to train for both....i feel it will be easier for me to train for something the test calls "..i forgot the name right now...but i feel once i am a better runner, just with the mile, that i can train more for the "shotgun" approach they require...

OH, it called the Beep test....and there's one other similar test.

the entrance physical includes the following:

1. Beep test (i would probably fail right now) 2. Another similar short running test around cones (i would prob fail right now...but have time to improve the running stuff) 3. Pushups (i score top score already) 4. Situps (i am close to the top)

Big city vs little city mentality. I don't think I could handle that long of a commute time. Living in a city with population around 60k, there are times I decide not to pick something up at the store because it's "clear across town on the totally opposite side". Of course that only means it would take 15 minutes to drive to......

i would love a shorter commute, but, will not be moving out of my city or to another job to secure that :) instead, i take it as being better than others' commutes...some commute 2 hours ONE WAY.

D was a construction superintendent for many years in Detroit and his commute was about 1 hour each way...he used that time to plan what his crew would do..on his commute in the morning...and then thought about the days problems on his way home....when he did get home...he was ready to deal with us...LOL

yes, i see how his lifestyle was similar to many of the electrical workers / foreman over here...!

my dad always thinks of his problems at work...my mom used to yell at him if he "cried" about them over dinner lol.

Off to bike and jog - other than this I have stayed home reading all day

biking around 20-25 min, jogged one mile, walked 3/4 mile :) great stuff after relaxing on couch for the rest of the day!

after i jogged it was around 5:30pm and i got a second wind...i went to get my car at my friend R's garage, went to supermarket, and prepared some stuff for the week. gladly, i got a spot on the street right in front of my building :) so i didn't need to bring it back to his garage just yet...

What kind of chocolate protein spread do you have? I'm just about finishing up the generic Nutella (so not really Nutella, but generic) and looking for something with better nutritional value, if there's something out there.

still, they are junk as besides being "whole wheat" all the other additives and junk remain in the whole wheat goldfish...so you aren't missing anything...i just like them bc they are single serve bags and to me it feels like can induglence!

Overall, I got good sleep last night. I did wake up 1-2 times but overall, i slept many hours thankfully. Lately, it feels really good getting a long sleep!

After breakfast, I want to continue to read my book. 

Then, i'll shower and go out to the farther supermarket (10-15 min lol away) to get the better veggies / fruits - better quality and prices.

Then back home, put them away :)...lunch or a snack...

Then biking out to the gym for a full workout there...

Later tonight, going to celebrate MY BIRTHDAY!!!! with friends meeting in the city at a restaurant that serves Cardoncello mushrooms (aphrodisiacs!, for real!) the restaurant just opened in summer, then a short comedy club that i got tickets for on groupon for $15 each with the purchase also of a couple drinks there...it's still cheaper than most places! :)

Then home  :)

Tomorrow, I'll relax also, maybe a movie, no laundry until Wednesday, and a bike/jog session.

I also want to prefer food for the week, tomorrow, like the cauliflower fried rice i've been wanting to make again!

The reason for light plans is that i prefer them right now. I prefer to have some time at home. I have a couple busier weekends coming at the end of this month / early October...so for now, some quiet at home is perfect.

Glad you got a good night's sleep. I was in a hotel last night and always sleep terribly when away from home. Went to bed around 10:15p. Woke up at 3:30a, stayed awake until after 4:40am. Woke up again at 5:10, 5:50, 6am, and finally just got up for the day at 6:25am.

Staying so low in calorie count when celebrating your birthday......impressive. Most birthdays of mine, I probably have averaged 4000+ calories without even trying. Last year was the only recent exception since I was on a 4 month streak at the time and stayed below 2000 calories. My birthday is coming up in another week and I haven't decided what I'm going to do yet. If I don't screw up before then, I'll be at around day 20 of my on-plan streak. I know when I get there I'll have 2 opposing trains of thought. One will be that I need to stay on-plan to continue my streak. The other will be that I deserve an off-plan day as my reward for doing so well for 20 days straight. Right now, I'm leaning towards staying on-plan, but I know as the day approaches I'll probably start leaning the other way.

i have found that lightly eating is better than fasting before going out...but then i also try to order the best items on the menu....no pasta or other high cal options for me!

next, i had worked out and knew i'd never a little carbs and protein...i had a cliff bar, but didn't want all 250 cals...so i actually tore a little piece off and threw the smaller piece in the garbage so all i ate was 150 instead of the 250 cals...LOL.

every bit helps before going out....luckily, the items on the menu were surprisingly healthy...

i know what you mean...i did much worse celebrating last sunday with my family when i ate 2500...what a waste, too.

Slept thru alarm but got ready but hair late bc bus issues too! no issue though, we are good and i'm here, awake at work! 

I have been having lots of emotions as of late. I was really mean to my sister in how i let her know i didn't approve of her actions or rather inaction. i may have gone overboard especially that she's pregnant, but i cannot apologize at all because if i do apologize then she will take it as i was wrong...which i don't want....my bday was another interesting time with my parents...and i was extremely confrontational on fb messages to my sister letting her know 100% i didn't approve of her not wishing me a happy bday on facebook...i called her selfish for knowing that i like facebook but not thinking of me to wish me a bday there. i told her i had to defriend her, because she had told me she's not into facebook, wasn't on it all day (doubt that) and that she'd prefer not to wish me a happy bday there...which i thought was strange. so, i defriended her..i'll write about it on my page....

 

also, my sister told me that facebook isn't the real world ... and that she'd rather wish me a happy bday in real world...she also stopped liking my posts...and would tell my parents about my posts....so....she's totally unfriended as i cannot trust her anymore unfortunately. she thinks she always knows best, many times she can give good advice, but as of late she does nothing.

i do understand she's pregnant and under stress, but her behavior has always been similar in regards to this kinda behavior...i cannot give her any extra understanding...especially as the one thing i like about FB is the communication...and the people closest to me are the ones I expect to care my about me on my bday.

I am not sure why she didn't leave me a message. she could have done it on the over an hour ride from NYC to my parent's house on my bday.

she didn't call or text me on my bday...she did show up with a beautiful bouquet of flowers that they picked up on the way over from a store close to them in NYC....

i don't know, i am not sure....i just didn't want to give her any leeway...

there was a wedding she couldn't attend at least minute on 8/25...she still hasn't mailed her check to them as of this weekend...

she's not considering anyone but herself.

i understand she's pregnant, but not her thinking process.

she had told me she's too busy to text me back a little ways ago, that she's working and pregnant and unable to respond to me. i didn't like that either.

and i invited her to my bday party on facebook, she chose not to respond either a yes or a no. she just simply ignored it, but did see it.

eh, i just think she should be a little more communicative.

and for facebook, if i'm close with you, and you are on fb, and i like things of yours and posts with you in them, and i see you are a little active, but you don't correspond to me and i feel it should be since you are a good friend or my SISTER, i do take it personally, and delete you. to me, when i had other friends posting photos of kids and i would comment and like them, i would have liked those people i deleted to support me.

to me,facebook should be equal (unless the person is hardly on there or posting...)

my sister doesn't post much, but i know she goes on here and there. i just didn't love her answers back to me....and i took it to heart a bit too much.

eh, i cannot apologize. on her bday, i'll text her plainly happy bday. nothing else. i won't see her....maybe i'll leave a voice text message of happy bday. nothing more. i had enough of my sister these days...

just feeling bad i was so mean with her and she's pregnant...but not up to apologize because i have to stand up for my principles.

today is time for time alone. for quiet. i still have to finish up some errands and cleaning. but all in all i will relax. 

today i'm skipping gym and moving that session for tomorrow instead of today.

my body needs some downtime.

it's bad weather to bike, so i'm not missing out on biking there today :)

we're hanging a wall painting in my kitchen 

he's also showing me how to access all my free Amazon prime movies so i no longer need to go to library to rent them :) unless i want to for fun ... we actually already added my prime to his tv months ago lol....but he did it and so i need his help to add it to mine! lol...

not gonna do too much today, i'm needed some alone time and rest and early bedtime. need a little space from the world even right now this morning :)

My first thought about your 2 am marshmallows was the old joke about the person who dreamed that they were eating marshmallows and woke up with their pillow in their mouth........guess yours had calories...so I guess you really did eat marshmallows in the middle of the night...LOL

lol i never did have the marshmallow dream! that's hilarious! i'm happy that marshmallows aren't the worst in terms of calories...and now they are luckily all eaten up!

Noon lunch: corn tostados 140, half avo 160, salami 100. 400 and coffee at home, negligible calories bc i use almond milk :)

700 - perfecto...gearing up to finally shower bc i must lol and get out of apt to library, etc...quick supermarket too..must put clothes away...lol spinning head lots to do today :) must take breath and slow down :)

1pm after lunch snack: Atkins small bar 150

850 :) i'm happy but also feel like this day is flying lol...and that nothing's getting done.

Calorie goals for today are 1800-2000. since my weekly avg specifically due to eating cake last night which tasted BAD is 2400 per day - not terrible tho!

no exercise today. day off. but errands galore :) It is the Jewish New Year and I did take the day off...but I have been so busy that I have decided to do personal errands on this day instead of home with parents watching the services. I needed to take the time to finish / take care of things that are semi-time sensitive:

DONE - LAUNDRY is going now & i got lucky nobody is down there :) - DONE!

DONE - Registering for MDA Muscular Dystropy walk fundraiser and Kidney Foundation Walks - one is in October and one is in November :)..SIGNUPS ONLINE and i wanted to do this at work, but work has been busy and i keep taking too much time away from work lately, so this is a big time waster so i decided to do signups at home, especially because i'm signing up two friends along with me as well! - DONE!

1. Pull $100 from my secondary back account that i don't use and the $100 is just sitting there for over a year when i could make use of that money better in my primary account right now!...and looking later on this year into transferring all the CD account from the secondary bank to my primary bank so once again i am banking in ONE bank, not two.

2. Drive to UPS & Library since my printer isn't hooked up i'll use the libary's - Returning amazon 30lb foam coated weighted rod for weightlifting because it is so much heavier feeling than the 30lb barbell at gym! I have to also print the return stickers at the library...and go to UPS to affix them on there...and fix up the packaging which got semi-destroyed when it was originally shipped to me....I ORDERED 20LB WEIGHTED BAR INSTEAD :) TO COME SOON!

3. Return another Amazon package - same as Item #2, just another small package!  which didn't work out also - also involving weightlifting - rubber grips for the handles...but when i put the grips on the handles, they become way to big in circumferance for my small hands so i'll use the dumbells without the grips...just my own gloves will do...

3A. also at library, print tickets for Nelson Mandela Grandson speaking event at local library, FREE!

4. Pick up the photos that were developed at CVS from my disposable camera - they called a day ago only that the photos are ready :)

5. Hang my last wall mural in my kitchen :) finally, with Ricky

DONE 6. figure out prices and buy groupons for visiting Ground Zero / One World Observatory...i have a friend from Australia, female, coming to stay in NYC..and i'm meeting her for a day of tourism!!!!! She gladly accepted my offer to see this site and I'm gladly finally seeing it with her...she will be really great company! :) :) :) I haven't seen her since i was 20 and we were music camp counselors in upstate NY....i'm lucky for FB. DONE...looked at the 2 options and left it up to her :) one includes a full tour, which i particularly like guided tours and planned events...and the other is tickets to the observatory and we could walk around ourselves...left her with the options :) DONE.

Other items for tomorrow include:

tomorrow is a HUGE gym day, so i don't want a thousand other activities going on...because i plan on it being very big with snacks (i eat up to two bananas usually on days where i spend extra time at the gym) at gym and probably over 3 hours working out if i can ride to gym on bike - unless it rains. then, my gym workout i plan to spend 2.5-3 hours there without biking.

cooking some cauliflower fried rice - this is a definite!!!!!!!!!!!

researching a good slow cooker cabbage recipe

looking into cooking bags for my slow cooker (gift from friend) to get new cooking bags so i don't have to clean it much every time i use it!

cleaning the hamster cage either today or tomorrow - this is a MUST!

adding money to my laundry card at housing office - can wait till next week if i want...but need to get on top of this :)

most got done...the items for UPS are in my car, all packed up, so all i gotta do is drop them off. they were a challenge to repack, glad Ricky helped me with it last night...i ran outta time and they closed before i could get there.

glad i have the time off right now.
