10/21 Thursday -

GP still has diahrrea only...i bought something on amazon for gp's....it will come sometime tonight...i will def be trying it tonight to see if it helps the pig. i think the reason is that it's stressed from the surgery and all that. i do not think it has an infection. gp is still eating and drinking. i'm not giving it any veggies/fruit as they can make it worse.  i am pretty sure it's not an infection and that the gp is just stressed...taking a chance and bought a product for $25.

weights tonight, hopefully fast. done.

15 min walk before work, good. added above.every bit counts as once i get home, cardio doesn't happen unless i go on my bike which is rare bc i like relaxing once home.

breakfast: banana and choc and coffee 250

snacks: pb 150, Marshmallow coated in dark choc...pretty good 100 coworker brought in, 100 pb

lunch healthy: green pepper 50, leftover olives/eggplant spread 100, wrap and cc 200 apple 100...450.. piece mozzerella cheese 50. 500, very black coffee decaf.

early dinner before workout: leftover indian okra 100, spinach empanada from spanish restaurant very well made / tasty 300, tomatoes 50, peach yogurt 100...550...butter cookies 100. partial beer 50

gave frankie something called pet gel - bene-bac plus. after having it on my lap for around 40 minutes, the poop was a little more formed but still a mix of diarrhea. not sure if it was the gel or the diarrhea is getting better on it's own...good thing is i think frankie is getting better :)

cut up a cucumber that i bought before it goes bad to eat tomorrow / over the weekend with some garlic/salt/pepper light dressing.

morning walk with parents at a park made on top of a garbage dump (closed). there are goats i'll pet and see there ! :) 

fix balcony decor string lights..tighten/straighten them up with more tie wraps. - easy and do while weather is good!

Cut up veggies for a salad that i'll bring to work Monday. should be fine - and prob can use everything in my fridge.

As long as the piggie is eating and drinking, I would agree with trying adjustments and remedies at home to see if there is improvement. However, be careful with an anti-diarrheal. The body is purging for a reason, and stopping that process can cause more problems. Maybe use half or a quarter of the recommended dosage. My cautionary advice comes from real life experience, with the Husband.

Could you call the vet and get some advice or guidance over the phone? Husband does that a lot, to try to avoid appointments.

i don't think there's too much advice more about the gp issue over phone, as i am already omiting veggies from its diet...and the vet would need to look for either infection or if it's only stress....but i think i'm going to stay local near my apt this weekend...and wait to go to vet in one more week for the stitch removal. so i'll try my rememdy i bought, a smaller amount as you recommend.

As I recall Frankie had diarrhea...before you found out he had the kidney stone? It's a good sign like Donk said that he is eating and drinking....when he goes back to the vet to get the stitches removed you could ask them then......but I would strictly stick to food purchased and made for GP's....in the mean time...and it may just be stress...if he is acting normal then it's a good sign....

i can tell he is a little skinnier just because of the diarrhea but he is acting normal. i will try a very little bit of the stuff i bought for gp's because he is going to lose too many fluids...

yes, he was starting to have an issue before the stone, but not like this. all his poops are very soft and then dry up on the bedding into large clumps. he only poops diarrhea :( but he is drinking/eating and acting normal.

yes, i will only bring him to the vet in another week from now, for stitch removal..

awwww thank you, i read that cucumber info. i will stick with no veggies until his stool hardens up a bit. he is still happy and drinking / eating hay and pellets. so glad. i will try the supplemental stuff tonight :)

not really bc i always imagine them as being messy/hard to eat and really bad on teeth...lol. i have had them rarely. one was caramel or something covered which was good...but no, they aren't readily available around here and i do not look for them!

the apples i'm eating now i picked off a tree. very fresh!

make salad for work tonight - cut everything up - cut up extra for myself with any other remains.

do training for election day, tonight, shoud be short!..i've put in to take the two days off. i have the days. i'll be paid for work as vacation and $300 approx for working 2 shifts on election day. sounds good. pays for some of the guinea pig expense.

15 min walk before work ,good. added above.

maybe walk at home after work or bike. taking it easy tonight.

snacks: pb 100, walnut couple pretzels 50, 1 pb choc 100

looking over my days, it does seem i could take 2 days in november to do the elections..2 days because if i decide to work both shifts, 16 hours, i will want to be off the next day, still thinking about it.

this week especially, i'm going to pay the toll to drive home. it's a difference of around 45min saved doing so. i am not wanting the extra travel time this week. taking a break.


10/19 Tuesday - 

breakfast: coffee, pop tart 250

snacks: pb 100, 100? banana 150

lunch: spaghetti squash 150, cheese x2 120, popcorn 150. 450 tops., snickers 100, extremely tired bc of TOM...also annoying, but not painful, cramps. lots of pain reliever taken today..black coffee.

snacks: apple 100

5:30pm dinner: 2.5 servings everything flavor ritz 200, Life Cuisine frozen sausage crumblles over cauli rice with veg and some seeds. very nice. 500 tops (may change this later based on how much i eat.) 300, low cal strawberry nick's ice cream 150 (very good!)100

leg exercises were done last night. was very tired but got a second wind after a shower in later evening. so that was good. i think i'm going to need a lot of sleep this year, with this job, this commute. 

Tonight: 6pm "welfare club" - a club for the wellbeing of all, also somewhat religous, all members were/are in the union, meeting at 6pm

...will exercise during the meeting and also prob have dinner. (will not do the video part of zoom of myself.)

I'm really surprised that the electrical union gets religion involved.....the carpenters union doesn't mix the two. How does that work with so many different religions.....I'm also surprised about the show that the union was encouraging you to go to and even the covid class.......All the Carpenters union does is get politics involved because of laws.....other than that...it's all carpenter business.

no, it doesn't involve religion...it's the members that made a club and only those who want to be in it...it's been around 95 years...there are other clubs, the italian club, greek club, latimer (african american)...they are used to bring people together of similiarities to try to support community issues, etc...i am not sure if carpenters have had clubs or not....may be different in your state..

but this is old, we are the first affiliated club of the union, 95 years old now.! many members very old. but smart. i am not active other than being a member, going to some meetings/events.

the clubs to scholarships, invite guest speakers, and invite other clubs to their events...it is not to break people apart, but to give back to community in ways of the clubs choice...

it is an old school thing. been around forever. hard to get new members. i do it just because my dad was in it, i learn some things when we have speakers or the club president is a good speaker so i learn from his speakers...i just go now because it's on zoom and easier...many of the members knew me as a child...it's not a big deal just a traditional thing i guess?

I complete agree with you that as long as you have this commute, you will probably need extra sleep. Or you start sacrificing sleep. Not good alternative options available.

Does the Wellness Club address worker health issues, like self-care (e.g. getting enough sleep)? or is it more of a community activist sort of thing (e.g. wellness of the community)?

I was rather startled too when I read that you (potentially) have something every Tuesday night. Now you know the stress that I feel about yoga. It's like, I really want to do this, but then that nagging obligation feeling starts to kick in, and it quickly turns into "I really HAVE TO do this" and then it's not as great. Talk about ruining a good thing...

yeah this month it's every tuesday. i don't really need to be anywhere for 3 of the tuesdays besides home...but, you get it.

i guess i need to be thinking the alternative, "i am lucky i get to do this..."

i do understand the yoga stress of being there, the reason also i have never prefered classes / scheduled to the exact minute workouts.

it is not wellness at all. it is a religious/political/union club. it has been around 95 years, hence the reason why the name of it, "Welfare" Club, sounds quite outdated....as we are not on welfare in that meaning...

EDIT TO ALL: Frankie has diarrhea consistently now, must keep a lookout. i'll have to provide less 

10/18 Monday -veggies/fruit again and be very careful with Frankie.

15 min chilly walking but nice before work - may need to wear winter jacket for morning walking bc its usually windy & on the water - where i'm working, recorded.

after work i'm driving straight home to avoid any traffic and may even take toll bridge to just get home...may need to use the toll bridge in order to cut down on the commuting in PM some days. +2 hours can be a bit much going home...we'll see.

I want to make a salad tonight. 

do leg strength exercises too.

bfast: pop tart 200, coffee 50. debated pb, but will have it later. i'm better with some fat/protein, but im still doing the carb thing at work...and not caring about health as much, since being hired and also since the move in June to this trailer. i'm fine with it for awhile longer....

Sounds like a good plan for today. I love how you're already planning to come straight homme. Sounds great to me :-) (lol)

The last time I had Pop Tarts, they came 2 to an envelope. Do you have both or 1? (or has the packaging changed?) I prefer the dessert flavors rather than the fruit-filled ones. (No surprise there!)

With cramping today, I hope you have a banana with you. I'm going to bring a banana to work with me today. My goodness, this has been the crampiest TOM I've had in a long time. Not real bad cramps but like almost every day, bad enough to need to take something OTC for them.

I also like the dessert ones - the brown sugar cinnamon. They are still two to a pack and I saw ones without icing - even more calories than the iced ones - i guess they have more filling in them. They are absolutely not filling but I’ll enjoy them until I am out of them and won’t buy so soon again as they do get me hungry. I only eat one at a time and we have a toaster at work so I’m kinda enjoying them a lot - bit they are pretty bad for you.

I’m also having cramps but not terrible this time aroind. I cannot believe I didn’t get TOM today bc of all the cramps. Anyways, I’ll prob take a painkiller so I sleep thru the night tonight or that’s my goal :)

I'm a little conflicted about the election training. On the one hand, it's like a double-payday because you get paid for taking a vacation day AND paid for working the election. BUT it's time and energy from you that might be better spent resting. Also, it's an allocation of time that you might spend looking at the NY courts website, too.

It's a tough call!

exactly, i don't think it's worth it to me. it's like i'm avoiding my real life by diong the training for elections. it does seem it's the total wrong time for me to do it...i will most prob skip it.it's just not worth my while.

My ex has 2 small furry piglets. She took them when she left, offered me one, but they were raised together, so left it that way. Great yours is all better.

Thank you - he may still have issues as he’s full of diahrhea so I’m stopping almost all veggies for now!

It is true - if they are used to each other it’s best to keep them like that bc it can be hard to bond some of them in the future and they may miss the company of the pig they already know :)

I hope Frankie is feeling better very soon. And you! Cramping sucks! I’ve been dealing with spotting for the last week and a bit since it’s almost time for another birth control shot for me. This time around I’ve been not cramping but definitely feeling the gut rot. It sucks!

Yes. I do provide hay and pellets. I’m hoping his digestion will improve and that he’ll be ok…still diarrhea tonight. We’ll see how the next two days go..

no, i should def google...i haven't much. only know to decrease veggies. so i've almost stopped them. i think it has to do with the surgery the pig had.

I think I would stop bringing home green things that are "found"....you never know what things have been sprayed with and a lot of things are poisonous for pets.......the things we buy in stores are bad enough........if he was mine I would stick with only prepared purchased pet foods made and sold for pets and possibly a little dark green lettuce.....I would also make sure he is not near an air conditioner or heat vent...he also may be stressed...( he had a trauma recently with the the vet stay and procedure/surgery and being moved around outside of your apartment......he may need a little alone quiet time to heal...animals get stressed and it makes them sick ( as it does to people)....poor little guy...he might need some time separated from the others while he heals.

EDIT TO ALL: Frankie is doing quite well. He has a stinky butt as in leaving a poop smell when he relaxes on me - but was doing this previously, but seems to be back to his old self and happy :-) 

but, pig has some diarrhea and i saw blood, but perhaps it's just dried up and overall ok, must keep a lookout. i'll have to provide less veggies/fruit again and be very careful with Frankie.

10/17 Sunday 

rounded up to an hour in sun, not much walking bc cousin didn't want to / cannot do as he's disabled. i hadn't realized before how much difficulty it is for him to walk. will have to think about more to do with him, but closer to home next time :) bc it was a lot of driving for about 30 min on the boardwalk mostly sitting- but, he was happy :)

1pm See Cousin Richie and we are going to drive to the beach to walk on boardwalk bc the weather / temps are suitable for it & sunny.

Evening: Make a large salad to make for coworkers. 

8:45am Breakfast: banana and coffee 150, blueberries and gummy vitamins 100, oatmeal strawberry with almond milk 150. 400...

snacks: choc 100

Lunch: small - after rushed exercise and chats with friends, also late to cousin by at least 15 min so i could finish upper body (will be too tired later and not have enough time so told him i needed 15 more minutes). wrap 150, cream cheese smoked salmon flavor first time -was OK. 50. total 200.

snacks:not sure, bringing another banana with me as i had an extra in fridge turning color..150

early Dinner: pita entire one, whole wheat 250?, salad with some sauce 200, shrimp x2 of a serving 200, some olives 50. tastes of a feta topping 50. 750.

will prob just go to bed early, rather than make salads, do more laundry or anything else - unless i get my energy back, it's only 6pm after eating dinner already. just trying to end the weekend without too much stress.

Once again, i'm thinking to work on electrion day - if i do both shifts, 16 hours, i can make $300...but i gotta say, i think i may be good with just one shift, lol. yes. its extra money, if i take a vaca day to do it....hmmm. i may do it.

I noticed that this coming up week has nothing pre-planned. I personally think that's a good thing - it's been a while since you've had something like that. I'm wondering if you will feel bored or restless by this time, next Sunday. Or will you feel restored and refreshed from having the free, open time - an interesting experiment, I think :-)

haha, you are right. i will def not feel bored. i have to do car inspection and oil change by the end of this month...thank you for reminding me to add that into my planning haha! i also have to bring gp back to vet for follow ups. i hope everything is ok, i think i fed it too many fruit/veg again, it has diarrhea! just him. ugh! i gave him apple, but nobody else, so it could be...keeping an eye on it!

i'm truly sorry my commenting is not as predicatable right now. i do enjoy giving feeding to everyone ;) (especially having some really nice, new members latelly! - lucky us!)

truly only want to give you the best advice, never being in your situation i can only give opinions. but whatever choice you make, there's pros and cons to EVERYTHING. so don't feel bad about whatever you are choosing to do at the moment and/or future. there's so many variables, you just never can be "right or wrong" with a choice.

it's some kind of community theater group that the one of the people in the highest position of the union has lent out, with the agreement i'm sure of others, the Union's auditorium which is like a pretty large theater, for them to run a working run of the play. they were reading from their scripts, but didn't take away much from the show bc they were good actors, with scenery, with costumes. they did a good job.

there was a lot of alcoholism, adult language, male adult nasty language, thoughts of suicide by the characters, and a homicide at the end. one of the takeaways was to live your life well so that your life isn't wasted...to do good and think positively, but getting there was a long, negative approach by the playwrite.

the highest in command of the union is writing a play and will produce in conjunction with this company. so that is all the reasons why.

people weren't all up and ready to go....so they may have not had publicity...hence i was asked to go by my club at last minute. i think many were, as prob not many seats were sold.

only about 100 in attendance if that....and that is not many at all...

all in all to answer your question, we do things for others and sometimes its as a favor with no intended return, but sometimes it's a give and take.

Oh I see... Well, that's kind of cool, actually! It was an invitation (not a mandatory attendance), and that's neat to see a run-through versus not the final production. And I'm all for the union big cheese person to be writing a play -- see, even that person is feeling a need for creative expression :-)

yes, his play will be unrelated to this play's theme, obviously! it will be industrialization and how certain fields of work have been phased out by mechanization etc...he will touch on various time periods. sounds like a decent play. he's still writing it. and yeah, you got the idea! :)

10/15 Friday - Did pushups in morning (part of upper body workout), will finish upper body after work. Will also do walking after work probably to enjoy the park there :) 

Breakfast: 2 very rich bakery cookies with extra choco and other chips added 200. coffee 50.

Dinner: picked up healthy Indian - had some tastes of sautéed okra in sauce and had a lot of mustard greens blended into a tasty thick soup consistency- super healthy food, somewhat spicy abd many seasonings 400. And an apple 100. May have something else later. trying to finish weights quickly around 7:15pm-7:30pm. Will skip abs tonight. Usually I do them with upper body but I'm tired and don't care tonight

I did upper body weights today too! I don't know if I'll do any more this evening, since I did pretty well this morning. However, it's nice to know that it's an option, and that you'll be doing them too!

The only time in recent history that I broke 110 was getting sick from the 2nd covid shot, but now that I’m back on The Switch recommendations I have every expectation of seeing 108 & lower. You’ll hear all about it in real time. I seriously don’t care if DD knows I porked way or went way down. Makes no difference to me.

10/14 Thursday - do upper bod in evening after work :) - no, took a break, no exercise tonight, bed early. 

yesterday i added 45 min cardio for walking after work.  Lower body i had time to do before work, yay, done.

Breakfast: banana 120 and coffee 30, some apple pie mostly apples 150. 300.

snacks: pb 100, 100

lunch, def healthy!:pita chips 200, salad 100, chicken with skin 250

dinner: roasted Brussels sprouts large amount with olive oil 200, small amount Turkey burger 100, some of a potato knish 200...500-550

Dad is picking up guinea pig bc the vet is the town next door to him....he will drive pig that had the bladder stone surgery to me...and he'll be safe and sound. hope to cuddle him a little tonight, i wonder if he was lonely at the vet!? missing his friends!?

Wow, you did really well with exercise yesterday!

I'm glad to hear Frankie is OK. It was an expensive surgery, but I guess that's one of the caveats with pet-ownership. It can be hard on the pocketbook and heart for sure. (I know this first-hand.)

I will have to decide in the future if i'm going to go the same route. i have to have a limit...i think :(...sad but true. cannot always do this, i don't think. In future if something is wrong, i may just take to animal control :(

doc appt is just for medicine, phone call. it lasts 5min and i never met him...bc it was a change to go to him during pandemic, and luckily i slipped into only phone calls, no visits. glad about that. it's not a thorough type of thing, at all.

When do you get off work if 4 is late? You must start early. I prefer such working days. Always left around 3 when I taught high school. But much work to be done at home, grading papers & preparing lessons.

7-3:30 is my regular time. takes 30 min-45min to get to work, 2 hours to get home!

the later i leave, the later it takes to get home, but i'm usually not in a rush to get home like i am to get to work. i take the free bridge home, usually, and pay to come into work to get here faster.

Is the free bridge really free or does it take more gas to get there to avoid the toll? My mom used to drive 10 miles to save 20 cents on some grocery item...LOL

it is free, but it prob saves 1-2 miles at most. it has a lot of traffic though, at least 30 min longer drive on free bridge...i should work it out, make sure i'm saving! as gas is over $3/G now.

I looked, it's 3.5 miles more going to the free bridge, as it's a little out of the way.

so the gas isn't really wasted to go only 3.5 miles, but my car is also in traffic, so it is prob burning more gas, but prob not $7 (the cost of the toll bridge)....so i think free is still worth it..i prob burn $2 of gas going the other way.

snack another muffin 100 (Healthier type, small, frozen ones...easy as i was running late bc i took a shower in AM and had them at work already..) And pb 100

lunch: micro cauliflower meal bc i didn't want to prep anything at all, 500. Life Cuisine, had a little meat, breadcrumbs, cheese. and tasty light tomato sauce. pretzels 100

4pm snacks: some honey, some candy100, pea chips with black pepper 300....400 before quickly exercising before meeting - see how much i can do earlier...

dinner: keto type pizza 1/2 400, beer 100

2nd UNION ONLINE ZOOM COURSE - Topic:  coronavirus economics - 5-7PMLEAVE WORK AT 2:45PM IN ORDER TO BE HOME AND ATTEND CLASS AT 5PM....Done! - took toll bridge, home by 4pm.

Leg exercises in AM before work, Done :)

Still do weights tonight - because the course will prob run shorter than the 7pm official end time;..and i want to stick with this schedule. - upper body. - got it done fast, before the course bc i got home early !!! Done!

i did bike during the last session, so biking on my indoor :)

i did the research, not much, and will read it to the class (and re-read it a few times today to get used to reading thru it easily). printed it out for myself to read at my desk / take home and read before the course!

frankie's bladder stone will most prob be removed today at the vet in surgery :) it was $300 total to put to sleep...$1000 to remove stone, i talked vet into $750 instead.

crazy high.

i will not go this route again, will call animal services as my neighbor did with her dog / cat issues...it's free...they pay to help if the animal can be helped...wish i knew this sooner.

$750 will just come out of my savings, but i figure it's for a great cause, my pig had a lot of energy and life left. it wasn't ready to be put to sleep.

HOP, I respect & admire you so much for opting to save Frankie’s life. So many pet owners cry poor & put the animal down. These are the same ppl who have $$$ for other luxuries.

We went into a huge credit card debt when one of the dogs had cancer decades ago & we didn’t have the money.
