horn_of_plenty on 08/20/2017:
Yes you don't need kombucha if you go too much already! On weekends when I drink it I poop a ton bc I am relaxed at home and not at work !!! Haha!!! Nice to have fun on weekend yeah !

6day: 2133..

I have to bring Hammy GB to the Vet tonight...his eye is not improving enough at all. Maybe needs antibiotics.  There were no appointments so i'll prob have to wait there a LONG TIME to be seen.  But it's the only late night until next week on Tuesday....so i'm bringing my poor Hammy whose eye has been sticky for a week now.

So no gym tonight, just the Vet, and bed early. Tomorrow is jogging and Gym will be Saturday instead :-)  I'm glad I did the gym 1x on Monday and didn't put that off!

Sunday will be jogging again and next week shall be really fun...Going with a friend who's here in the states from France to see her twin sister perform in a Broadway show called Comet of 1812 on Thursday night a week from tonight and then the Bronx Zoo with the lady from France on that Friday in addtion to eating dinner at a local Asian mall filled with TONS of food vendors! That's next Thursday & Friday!

This Saturday I'm probably going to something called an Asian Night Market (i live near a VERY Asian ethnic area!) and its from 6pm-11pm on every Saturday in the summertime. Filled with Food and Festivities! At one of THE LARGEST local parks that happens to only be 10 minutes from me! I am in a GREAT part of Queens for summertime events.  The US Open is at the same park, but I will not be attending that. It's expensive and i don't generally watch Tennis!

Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 3 lbs to go!

My first husband was 1/2 Vietnamese, his mother was an amazing cook and taught me a few dishes. I especially love their spring rolls.

I like tennis, when nothing else is happening in the sports world.

Have fun, however, don't eat pets! Just kidding...or not!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/18/2017:
lol, yeah, you never know what the chinese are eating these days!

bearcountrygg on 08/17/2017:
Poor little Hammy!! You have lots of fun things planned...sounds like a great weekend.

Home: kombucha 100

Breakfast: banana 120, wrap 100, pb 150, choc spread 50, coffee with milk and sugar 70:

Snack: may just eat early lunch. sorta bored of things lately and sleeping more at home... been very tired as of late...very tired lately.

3pm granola bar 100

3 Jelly muchkins (more calories than i guessed at 70 per munchkin!...i though they'd be at most 40 or 50 per munchkin with hardly any jelly in these!) 210. and a tea.

Dinner: healthy, but big. around 700.

2250 today, mostly healthy.

5day average: 2120, slightly high but i think i'm ok.

Appts are: Podiatrist @ 5:45pm and Optical @ 6:45. Both in the same building and both a 2 min drive from my appt...on the way home i'll park in shopping center there so I'm not late for the appointments. I could have parked at home & walked but then i risk being very late!...or rather, 10 min late!

These appointments are very important as I'm getting whatever i'll need for the future in January NYPD trainnig....so i'll be getting extra glasses / insole inserts....to be prepared for anything / everything once i am in NYPD i do NOT want to be scrambling for appts or gear.

Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 3 lbs to go!

Excellent planning!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/17/2017:
Thanks! so now i have two pairs of glasses. Both transition lenses and both pairs have a slight, very slight, tint to them even indoors. I hate this, but, it makes it so that i can use just one pair of glasses when i go to academy (and keep a fully extra pair at home). the glasses will be good for indoors as well as driving in the sun and nighttime too.

As for the insoles, i was only allowed to get one pair and i do not think they easily wear out. So i'll just go with that....!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/17/2017:
Total price - i do not think i have to pay at all for the insoles. The total for two pairs of glasses both with extra active transition lenses - around $220 for everything. I'll also get that money back thru one of my funds. Cannot wait to get all my money back that i've used for copays lately!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/14/2017:
not really eager to spend time going to and from vet or $ at vet....at all i don't want to go for a $15 hamster it's kinda not my idea of $ or time well spent....i can't justify going to a vet...hoping to heal it on my own.

Doing a little laundry bc hamster peed on me so i figured i'd wash whatever i wore since yesterday morning lol. not much! but now my hampster is empty again!

10am-11am Had some kombucha. some seltzer and a large plum so far. as well as a banana last night around 2am since i couldn't sleep for a moment, carbs always do the trick. also had some thigh pain still from period, so the potassium helps.

250 cals or so, so far.

Noon: wrap 100, with leftover sauteed wheat gluten

Ice cream and too much of it 500 at least 550.

Big dinner at chipotle 700?

1850...saying 1900 bc also bite of brownie.

2day average: 2050.

Going to city for a late lunch & to central park today in NYC as well as maybe very cheap comedy show / magic show. ($5 for one show and $10 for another ...the diner is also cheap). it's nice not to spend too much money on the weekend and this weekend was great...everything was the right price.

Hamster has a slight eye infection, i'm trying to fix the problem at home first before needing to take the baby to a vet...googled some home solutions such as a chamomile tea bag on closed eye.

I'm baking a whole spaghettic squash so i hope it'll taste better from when i microwave it? Maybe after i bake it, i'll re-bake the inside after i cut it up with olive oil, garlic, black pepper.

The Daily Rituals book is not the best or most inspiring book i've ever read, but it was cool to get a glimpse into so many lives of the greats!  Nice to read about them and how different they were and what made this artists tick :)

Reading a NEW book at lunch that i'm starting, it's called "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, by Mark Manson"....I'm glad I finsihed the other book, DAILY RITUALS, which was about the daily routines of many famous artists, composers, writers, painters, musicians.

It wasn't very inspiring, but did demonstrate the depths and drive some had to go thru in order to become renown and produce such masterpieces (hard effot / work)...and for a few it came more naturally without as much a struggle. Many artists were alcoholics or drug addicts, but others were very healthy and lead more natural lives and routines. But as we all know, many artists are inherently a bit extreme.  Not all, but many.

Many worked on little sleep or took drugs for sleeping and stimulants for waking. some took daily naps. It all depended on several things. Some artists had to work day jobs to pay the bills, some relied on their family to provide food and housing so that they could write full time. Some lived in poverty bc nobody was helping them, until their first big break.

Many would write / practice their art even when uninspired, to keep the routine and stay in practice so that they could eventually produce a greak work...everyone was different. But one important thing to remember is that practice makes perfect...or at least practice makes GREAT.

And this is what i take from the book, called DAILY RITUALS.  It's that even when you aren't feeling you are producing your best work, you stil stay in the routine and you still practice. So that when that inspiration does come to you, you've been already in practice and your job becomes easier...THIS IS HOW I THINK OF MY RUNNING. I generally suck...but the more I practice, the easier it is getting....I have one choice: KEEP PRACTICING!

Another important note I learned from the book Daily Rituals is that many of the greats did not ONLY do work.  They also enjoyed exercise, usually walking very long walks like at least one hour per day and some as much as 2-3 hours of walking per day!!!!...some enjoyed swimming!...but in general artists were used to being active, not all of them - but many - or doing another hobby which would inpsire their work...generally the more active ones were the ones that did not have a second job or line of work to support their writing...the ones that had hobbies were usually the ones that didn't need a second line of work to support themselves (like composers could be composers and writers were able to just be writiers...these guys were able to have hobbies and go on those long walks...or see shows, etc....) All things to think about!

Either way, many of the greats did NOT become great without LOTS OF PRACTICE and/or many failures first....PRACTICE....PRACTICE.....PRACTICE...and i'll run better, too!  NEVER GIVE UP...the only way you cannot achieve something is by making the ACTIVE DECISION TO GIVE UP!

Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 3 lbs to go!
