You may just be able to let the gym membership go and invest in your own equipment all together....huge timesaving there.

i may for a year...but i still have many months left of current membership...but that's a good plan for later :) ...or to do it on and off (monthly) here and there at the gym maybe when i have vacations...but it seems really that working out at home will be best for awhile...

the new girl in the office, my neighbor, was supposed to get drug tested today but went home sick instead!? weird....seems based on scenario she didn't want to take the drug test yet...so, the rest of her hiring process has been held off by my supervisors for what seems to be at least the remainder of this week....hmmm....that's all i know. little weird...but i'm fine with a lower key day without a new person person here who happens to be a neighbor who lives below me and her parents live next to me...lol...glad to have a calmer rest of the week.

Reminds my of a time many years ago when I was sitting in a new hire orientation class with about 20 other people. The orientation topic turned to random mandatory drug testing. One individual started asking several back-to-back hypothetical questions. All of them centered around what if some major emergency came up on the way to the testing facility and he wasn't able to make it there out of no fault of his own. The answers were basically you'd be fired unless you were laying in a hospital in a coma. Orientation took a 15 minute break shortly after, question guy stepped out to get something from his car, never to return again.

When i say this day has been weird, i mean weird and coincidental and absolutely nutz. i'll talk later.

i got my laundry done earlier, between going back to sleep on and off...and that's really all i want to do now...perhaps i'll have some coffee to get a move in....like BCGG was saying, perhaps i need the coffee for some motivation here to get going!

Once again, it's going to be a busy week. Originally, my plan was to exercise tonight but i'm sore from loads of walking yesterday and know that having a rest day is what is better in this case!

I also know that i need to pick up kombucha, more fruit, more veggies, and more meat - maybe more beef for more burgers since i really enjoyed eating beef last week, i think i need it more as of late! :) Meat can wait, i don't want to cook it.

I don't want to run errands all afternoon, so i'll try to be relatively quick with it. I may also pick up some prepared food, because i'd rather follow my food by bringing it from home because when i buy it at lunch, i usually buy more than i would eat if it was from home...kinda hard not to, being hungry, eating with my eyes :)...also, it's better to spend money buying food once, not everyday at work.

I am feeling similar in that I have no real plans today. Oh of course I could go window shopping or clean something -- but I'm just planning to relax today and do what I want to do (read, knit, walk, watch TV), in order to recharge for the work-week ahead.

Resting myself for a good portion of today. Wife and I went food shopping for the week last night instead of tonight.

Oldest came and let me know that the dishwasher wasn't draining, so it did take me an hour or so to research it and get it fixed. Youtube actually had a video of dismantling our exact model and pointing out the typical issues that could cause it to stop draining.

Anyways, good job on being consistent as usual.

A very interesting thought out place where they actually made it so you can tip the staff at the registers as you pay....good for them, not so good for customers lol...i did tip her $1...! pretty good tip i'd say considering she was just the one ringing up my order! great food there and tasty coffee. nice place! :) unique!

I guess caffeine works differently for people...if I need a boost...caffeine does that...but if I'm tired and I drink coffee...I can still sleep just as easily………...it kind of works for whatever my motivation is...want to exercise, shop, clean, sleep....drink a cup...LOL

..so glad to work out in my house...it saves literally like an hour of typically wasted time when i'm going out to gym at night.

stayed at work a little late to make up for taking a longer lunch...friend from Australia is touring and stopped by to have lunch with me and one other coworker!

decided to walk by supermarket when i was almost home, gather from produce as i'm really low...and take the night off exercise :) 

tomorrow i may work out at home after work, instead of driving to the gym, almost 100% sure on this!




I might work out for the first time tonight at home...supposed to get my last delivery of equipment today.  I will only attempt a home workout once all equipment is available that i have ordered bc i want it simple and right from the start. :)

It would be WAYYYY better than going out to the gym, I'll tell you that! 

This is the reason I got equipment for a home workout - it's been increasingly hard to drive out to it 2x a week during the work week after a day of work. It becomes tiring and wasted time to leave apt again and come home again. just wasted travel time, even if it's only overall 30 wasted minutes, it's still 30 wasted minutes (round trip).  

Working out at home will be a slightly lower intensity, but it'll get done...and that's what i need. 

if i don't feel right about working out tonight as i got poor sleep, i'll do it Friday instead.

i agree...it is sort of a practice better for those who can commit to the entire practice in temple, fasting, see family.

i do not see anything wrong with knowing it's that day, taking off because i am that faith, but observing it how i want to :)

Raiding the fridge at 2am because of waking up. That used to be my routine a few times per week. Potatoes, bread, pasta, and whatever leftovers looked good. Then waddle back to bed and lay there with an overstuffed tummy wondering why I couldn't fall asleep again. The good old days......

yes indeed!...glad to finally have a home workout...it's not as motivating but because i've been doing workouts for years, i was able to get into the groove pretty well and i know i'll be able to keep my workouts going now all Winter more easily without needing to leave my apt during the week when it's freezing or icy outside!

4pm Edit: so far I cooked up eggs and also the packages of chicken and beef burgers I had before they spoil...I also roasted some potatoes. the cauli rice will wait till another time as i still have leftover veggies for friday and tomorrow i'm going out for lunch (yes i'll work tomorrow) bc a friend from Australia female i know is coming and i've invited my coworkers to meet her!... Later tonight I'll prob make cauli fried rice

9AM wrap 100, 1 pc salami and one hard boiled egg 100, large portion avocado 150, strawberries 50. 400..kombucha 100 perhaps will make me feel better...

12;30 lunch: veggies and some dressing 200, tofu 100, wrap 100, and i think goldfish crackers 100. 500.

almost 3pm before bikng &  jogging: couple kashi dark chocolate chip oatmeal cookies (will not buy again because they are not single packaged and that's part of the reason i ate 2 and not one) and coffee 300 total.

I may not even cook, may just come home from jogging and read and eat leftovers. not sure how the time goes so fast! it's almost 3pm already..

.i'll go out soon to exercise, first coffee and a little reading.

Glad at got my laundry done...the next time i do it will be next Saturday a week from this one i think!

total is just fine: 2150 - fine especially considering i did some exercise! whenever i add in cardio (jogging) i burn MUCH more calories. i'm not worried like at all...!

exericise: 20-25 minutes on bike, just over a mile jogged, a mile or so walked 

rest of the day i was reading / relaxing on couch...as well as ordering gifts, paying bills. was a GREAT day off. not rushed at all!



Today i could have fasted in observance with Yom Kippur but instead, i have chosen to observe the day of fast and forgiveness of sins by taking off work and doing some necessary chores like laundry, cleaning up and organizing mail, something i like to do but don't do enough like cooking, and also a bike/jog at the nearby track because it's a challenge to fit in when i'm working the typical 5 days a week and it's been my goal to improve this month...which i am totally enjoying doing.

I won't be running around too much today, because on Saturday i will have a really busy day doing tourist stuff with a female friend from Australia that is touring NYC for a second time. :) she asked if i had time to spend with her...and i gladly accomodated!

If i were to fast and sit home with parents, i'd be behind in my fitness goals and fasting just wastes muscle and tires the body more...it's not in the cards for this year. i honestly feel God would rather see me planning / reaching for my goals and challenging myself to be better in the way i have chosen to use this day. This holiday occurs 8 days after the New Year, which was 8 days ago :) 


Life is give and take. I will have VERY minimal days off after this month until January when i'm picking up my suitcase and traveling to Florida for two weeks to stay with a friend. I am going to message her today, to let her know again that during the week, my goal is to get to the gym 3x a week and continue with my routines...I'm going there to get out of this cold place.

Down the road, perhaps i can visit her annually, if it goes well this time, as a nice respite from NYC Winters! :) She is a traveling friend of mine. Although i'm only 36, i am planning to travel with her again perhaps when i'm turning 40, or maybe earlier. It Depends how training is going and depends on my occupation and if there are changes before i am 40 ! She's a great friend and i'm glad she has always invited me down to Florida.

I have a dear friend who suggests fasting as a way to reconcile oneself to the abuse the Catholic church has committed. I'm sorry, but that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. How does fasting help anything? Except to distract those who should protest. Sheesh...

it is a practice that is definitely a long, old, deep-traditional practice...and being that i do not actively attend temple or practice, and with my schedule...i agree with you.

when fasting, it's best if you attend temple on that day, for you will be distracted of your hunger by the service and have all around you at the temple fasting too. also my parents do well, together fasting, watching it at home...

i just couldn't do it. once in awhile, i do it more as a health task for my body to take a break, eat well later that night...but i only enjoyed it when i was with my parents observing together.

i couldn't fathom taking a vacation day off work to FAST. not this year, i oberserved the holiday how i could :) thanks for your thoughts, appreciated!! and agree for now.

Got to work 20 min early, could have been more, but on the way i stopped at a large deli to pick up oatmal as well as a banana for a more carb-centered meal for easy energy. 

Oatmeal (made with skim milk) 250 and put in some fixings 150.  banana and coffee 200. 

Snack: tbd really shakey and anxious....maybe too much caffeine and carbs. proten bar 200

so hungry this morning, i had a second snack close to 11am of a whole serving of peanuts. 150 or so.

Lunch: from home: wrap, 100, salami 100, egg 50. 250. veggies with a little dressing. 200. 450. 5 small chocolates 50.  It was a more filling lunch. :)

for some reason, i've been abnormally tired and hungry today...i'll let even thinking about it pass!...happy to leave soon...i may leave 2:30 instead of 2pm.

I can still run a mile, though i hope it'll start to hurt less and less lol...it's not an easy mile....YET! if i jog Wednesday, i'll do splits of walking / jogging without doing a mile all at once...to work on pace. things are really good as of late.




Home early leaving at 2pm after lunch...i'll have a snack, pick u my sneakers, and drive to gym. car is in front of my apt bldg where i left it since Sunday eve, so that's good. I may also drop off a package at UPS, instead of waiting to do it on Wednesday :) YES!

yeah, trying to get last minute errands out of way today instead of doing them on Wednesday...i will get busy end of this month, so while i can rest and relax Wednesday a lot of the day...i will...and i like to cook, by freeing time on Wednesday, i can at least cook a little bit and explore recipes if i get a chance...or at least start to look them up for new recipes i want to try in a crock pot that i was given!

it is a different test, i'll write about it later...it's more based on speed than endurance...it's short bursts...not a mile...and actually, it's under a mile...but if i got into the court officer academy, then we would run miles...so i have to train for both....i feel it will be easier for me to train for something the test calls "..i forgot the name right now...but i feel once i am a better runner, just with the mile, that i can train more for the "shotgun" approach they require...

OH, it called the Beep test....and there's one other similar test.

the entrance physical includes the following:

1. Beep test (i would probably fail right now) 2. Another similar short running test around cones (i would prob fail right now...but have time to improve the running stuff) 3. Pushups (i score top score already) 4. Situps (i am close to the top)
