Before gym: maybe dunkin donuts sandwich. 400.

After gym: maybe ice cream, YES. 400


I want the gym tonight. legs still hurt, but the gym will be mostly for my arms. getting a shipment of the ice cream flavors i ordered. planning to have them sorta frequently / when i want for the next few weeks.

 5day avg: 2095, pretty GOOD.

gym tomorrow bc got home late & prefer sleep bc feeling tired this week. so resting up more tonight.


note to self: i have tofu and eggs to eat now...no need to buy any more meat for awhile until i finish what i have at home ...!

no bc the stores do NOT carry them...but now i ordered most. so i can do like 10 more reviews soon...i like to write them & be creative - a small fun challenge...i'll review them on facebook when i get a chance haha.

there are two ice cream brands, each one has around 25 flavors. total of around 50 flavors, many repeated between the brands (like each has their own versions of black cherry (one brand includes chocolate pieces in there..) and each brand has a red velvet flavor, but different styles...so it works out. i like the enlightened brand right now more than halo top...halo usually has more bland flavors with less add-ins. enlightened wins right now for unique flavors - really wanna try the marshmallow flavor that comes with a peanut butter swirl. i have a feeling it'll be great.

Yummy!!! I remember a few years ago having huge problems with ice cream -- a little would end up being a lot, if you know what I mean. Funny, but this year, I've stayed away pretty much completely. I might consider an ice cream cake for my birthday coming up. Hmm...

Anyway, enjoy the wonderful, different flavors! That sounds like so much fun!

they are fun...i just wish i weren't feeling so tired lately. i'm so anxious that i realize i'm going to have to plan for a couple days off soon.

also, my jogging hasn't panned out like i thought it would so far this summer...and my coworker has just made a lot of plans with me, i will not cancel, so i feel extra busy for the rest of the summer! crazy. i think i'm feeling overwhelmed.

yeah, the flavors are nutz with the ice cream...i will be wanting, when i' more relaxed, to write ice cream reviews.

Your exercise level is impressive!!!! In my life I have never actually exercised for more than an hour straight...and that was not such a mixture...it's been a lot of years for me....and I could never do that again....but you have quite a routine going there....GOOD JOB!!

aww thanks. sad i skipped yesterday but i had to - as when i get really run down, i have to stop that cycle because i've had quite bad experiences when i let the process of becoming run down go too far.

Lunch: FROM HOME!...green beans 150, small wrap 250. 400. if not in field, walking to post office to ship a return i meant to do on Friday!

Going to skip gym tonight bc I have been very tired this week and sleep is more important right now .....I plan to eat a lighter dinner and sleep early...

Dinner: cooked, seasoned cabbage and onions 150 def not more, and then heavier balsamic veggies 1 cup or maybe slightly more. 150? 300. sausage in a wrap 200. 500...ice cream for dessert so i feel FULLY satisfied with salty and sweet. then bed. no gym, legs hurt and didn't even enjoy any walking today that i had to do bc legs hurt from too much standing in place...and lifting weights would just hurt me more...so no gym and rest and reading.ice cream 250. total 700.

total 1850

4day: 2140, better much better.

good questions...will take time with this answer to try to be as clear but not confusing as possible! :) i will prob answer this question at work when i have time lol...not tomorrow probably bc i will be in the field away from my desk...i will answer this question when i am relaxed and fully engaged...lol at this moment as i finish my dinner...and veg out for tonight! thank you for an AWESOME question - i want to get better at answering it .

wait, actually i will answer it now and if you have questions or want me to further go into detail about the exercises, i will if you ask more, but for now i'll say this:

i spend around 1.5hrs if i'm going thru my workout on speed. If i'm taking my workout slowly with TONS of rest, it can go for 2.5hrs. (same workout always). regularly, it's about 2hours for 3 days a week. I get steadily better, tho VERY slowly i see progress, by going 3 days. when i do 2 days per week, i get gradually weaker.

I don't use as many DIFFERENT types of equipment as i used to. Now, i mainly use the free weights (dumbells). i use different weights depending on what muscles i'm working out - for biceps i use 35 pounds and for other exercises like triceps the weights i use may be as little as 10lbs. I do many exercises with different pounds of free weights in addition to some abs and back exercises as well as a few types of squats. i work my full body each time at the gym. i mostly work out in front of the mirror at a bench. i use it for some of the exercises. at other times i rest my water and stuff on it...lol...so i know i can use it and not have to give it to someone else and then not have a bench for my own exercises lol!...let me at least list my exercises for you:

3 sets approx. of each exercise, i rest much more at the second half of my workout (2nd hour) and i rest less at the beginning of my workouts! i may do one exercise like a pushup, then go straight to a set of squat and then back and forth between exercises to save time between sets...

1. Pushups - my favorite way to begin my workouts - i usually do up to 50 of them (30 in one set, then doing the rest after a little rest) and then go back to do them after a few other exercises. pushups are one of my best exercises and i do 150 pushups each gym session.

2. Regular type of Squats holding 30lb barbell

3. Bicep Curls

4. Split squats

5. tricep exercise with 10lb dumbells, 1 knee on bench for positioning

6. another type of squat which can be called a walking squat, but i do it in place, similar to walking in place but it's moving up and down in place one leg sorta at a time...i think it's called actually a lunge squat

7. then i do a shoulder exercise using 15lb dumbells sitting on the bench

8. i do another tricep exercise using the bench as a support

9. Situps - using the bottom of the bench where i put my feet under to hold them down and in place

10. Back exercise using a different machine located somewhere else in the gym - i can choose from 2 different machines that are different but both work for back muscles

11. planks i usually do at the end of my workout - done on the floor

12. if time permits, i may spend more time on another abdominals workout similar to situps and i might use another piece of equipment at the gym for this

I feel like i may have forgotten something, but this is basically it. I do rest at times. Go on my phone, online...but it takes time to do everything.

Planks i try to hold a minute for each of the 3...but sometimes i do it other ways too and sometimes they are shorter planks and not held the full time..

takes around 2hrs for me to complete the exercises.

An hour and a half is a lot longer than I figured...I was assuming an hour.....sounds like you have figured out what you need.....I only have small weights...5 pounds max...but for me...I think that is enough just for some resistance...usually I only use the small 1 pound ones..I could never lift a 35 pound weight with one arm...I'm impressed!!!

when i do the #35, i do not stand fully up straight...i have to do a posture than works for that amount of weight...but i am not sitting. i have seen other men in a similar position, and i don't want to decrease weight, so for now i'm satisfied at #35, but do NOT wish to go any heavier for awhile.

the workout i use was taken from a training guide to be a NYS court officer and these are the weights exercises that are recommended. they also recommend cardio of which i'm really, really not up to par on...but trying. tonight i gotta rest though. when my body wants rest, i know it's time i listen.

yes, YES. VERY SMALL WRAP under 100 cal, avocado under 100 cal, burger under 100 cal...satisfying flavors. i add garlic / salt.

Should mention here...that maybe you should test out you white bathing suit in the shower first...…..I once had a white bikini ( back...waaaay back in the day)...and when it got wet...it got transparent....Take a good cover up with you.!!!

9:30 Late Breakfast: whole wheat cream of wheat with almond milk and stevia and 2 rice cakes 250. Saag on the rice cakes, around 3/4 cup of it at least 250. 500. maybe a sip of kombuchca too. 550.

Salad from friend 150, bagel with cheddar cheese on top and cream cheese 700, fruit 100 1500....so full ... 1650 beforehand workout and dinner Dinner back home after gym sausage 150, potato 150, Indian leftover 200, ice cream 100 600 2250 - dinner was at 9 and I'm so hungry still maybe a fruit ! Good night ! 2300 ;) .

Currently doing laundry and getting organized.

I'm going to take my cousin (kinda like 3rd cousin - not first cousin) out to lunch. He lives by me and is 60.  Very nice and smart man. He was born with many birth defects because of a situation at birth.  He was supposed to be a completely normal baby but because of a situation that happened at his birth, he has had to work around multiple physical handicaps but has proved to overcome them all by having a full time job until he retired not too long ago.  He was emplyed by Marriot / Sheraton hotels and also he exercises a lot - mostly bike riding.  He has proved to overcome all odds and is a true inspiration and wonderful, loving person. I am happy to finally catch up with him as i typically see him only 2x a year even though he lives really close (15min away). so this shall be good. He said he fell so i know i'll have to help him eat...so i cannot really go there thinking of myself that i'm going to eat this amazing meal and i'm going to have to help him which i'm happy to do.

AND I WAS JUST INVITED TO POOL WITH SAME COUSIN AFTER LUNCH AND HIS SISTER! CHEERS! gym will be much later :) great plans today! and sun! just need to poop, get back in shower shower and shave....as i didn't shave with the first shower...running a hair late but just got sausages cooked and laundry done - ready for the week!

Gym in later afternoon. Ricky invited me to go to a bar tonight to eat, i might. they do have salads. the bar is in walking distance to my apt...very close. we'll see. i know i'll be tired. it's been a great, full weekend.


I finally tried on the swimsuit i ordered that arrived this past Thursday and the top was huge - gotta ship it back. was debating just returning the whole suit and getting my full $ back. However, it IS a nice suit and if i could just get the right size top if I try again...So i'm going to try again. It was overpriced, but nice to wear a beautiful white suit on the beach, no!? haha.  The bottoms fit decently.  I'm going to look for my own packing tape so i don't have to tape it up at work & with the work tape...I've been returning things all week due to also ordering a bit too much from Old Navy and their own mistake of sending me the wrong size 2 times - no worries as i'm saving money by returning and also went on a "scavenger hunt" in nyc finding the Post Office (HUGE!) and a UPS store both close to work to do the returns at lunch which was fun...

Yesterday was cool for us, so relief is on its way to you. Today isn't too bad but hot & humid is on its return again on Monday... Just in time for the work week, eh?)

and bowling :) been a very busy last few days which is  why i haven't been writing / commenting as much as i haven't been by my phone / computer much especially on Friday!

Lunch: huge amount of sauteed peppers and onions (big amount with a lot of oil) 400 and small slice of pizza (very small)  300. 

chips 230 and maybe a nap. napped about 1.5-2hrs :)

5pm light dinner: wrap and avocado together 150 with half chicken burger 100. 250. lg apicot 50, light drink.

Coffee and tastes of drinks and snacks 100

and a chocolate protein bar 200 around 8pm 1850 - at beach tonight for shuffleboard and a concert but very sleepy,

ice cream at 11pm when i got home hungry 200

2050 total - excellent.

it was - needed this. and i was standing all day so i didn't go to walk or exercise any more after work since i was hurting...but it was a good thing - to see how i was holding up, etc., and to remember what it could be like to not work at a desk all day...a very good change of pace, to also see how the project i'm working on is actually being completed, what it looks down there, working conditions, etc.

i also enjoyed assisting my project manager that i work with/for...seeing her work...watching the progress me and her personally made on what we had to do yesterday. we took a completely unorganized workspace of huge work drawings just seriously thrown all around and organized them into neat organized piles according to the area of the project each drawing is for...and we aren't done but the place now looks like an organized workspace!

yes...it IS possible to eat in moderation. and surprisingly, the more moderate i have been able to become, the EASIER it becomes to be moderate. it's like it works together. when your body is constantly getting more of a balance, mentally & physically i feel more balanced and therefore i can make more balanced decisions and eat in a more balanced manner. also, i have learned to know how much i need to eat and how little to eat and what to strive for and also to know that if i eat too little, i am always nervous it'll backfire on me...and cause overeating.

all of my journal entering here has made me MUCH more aware and it's been a huge learning process.

one thing i like to do is eat big volumes and i wish i didn't care for that - but i do - so i use it to my benefit as much as i can...since i'm not much of an intuitive eater (not much for being able to stop when i'm full - i still struggle with it).

went out to workout late and home and having that last meal after 10pm...tomorrow have to be at work at 7am so i wont be sleeping much as right now i may even read before i go to sleep! no worries, it's been a much easier week....and the weekend suddenly is more free since my friend that i made plans with cancelled afterall, but ahead of time, so i am not at all upset :)

8am? a protein bar i wanted to try, but needed to do it when i was "off from work" because i didn't realize but it was a probiotic / prebiotic bar. it was amazing. low sugar. it was a chocolate bar filled of a raspberry really soft jelly, coconut flakes, and with chia seeds. very sweet. and just like the best type of candy you can imagine and low sugar. so tasty. sweetened with more natural things like stevia/erythritol. 200. 

i had it with some selzter sweetened with stevia and then went back to bed. and slept on and off till around 10 or 11. feels good, especially after going to gym the night before. sleep is important! and i got it!

11am kombucha but not much 50.

12:45 Lunch I wanted whole wheat hot cereal with almond milk 200 and a 9% Skyr Raspberry icelandic (greek thick style high fat) yogurt 170. very good...still craving now coffee but would have to leave apt for it. so no. 400.I didn't eat the fresh chicken burgers i made bc i'm going to a bbq with burgers later - and wasn't in mood to eat burgers all day!

650, good.

Unrelated, my Period is in really high gear, fast flow lol, so happy to not have plans early this morning! Instead i got some extra "beauty sleep" and cleaned up, prepped and cooked some things for today and seasoned chicken burgers for the week :) Happy to not be rushing around right now! 

My stomach is a bit rumbly so i'm happy to be home and near the bathroom!

also, another set of racks for shoes/bags etc. came in the mail so i'm putting it together. cleaning up and prioritizing. also decided to ship back some clothes to Old Navy - i went a little overboard and the sandals were around $40 and don't fit perfectly, returns are free and there's a post office i'll go to during lunch at work. next, i ordered a cotton dress in a SMALL and they sent me an EXTRA SMALL (but the winner is that this is the SECOND TIME they screwed this dress up on me....i already reordered the dress and this was their second attmept to get it right - but no worries, i'm just going to save money and return it fully). the dress was around $20 and the sandals $40. so that's savings in the end. i have enough sandals and dresses for the rest of the season.

out early probably at 1pm today....did extra walking with friend so not sure about jogging tomorrow?...i showed my friend a large train station that she'll be using to commute bc she moved from Queens to Long Island. I showed her the Long Island Railroad and took her on a short tour. We stopped a couple times along the way from work to the train station, so it took around half hour or a little longer as we looked in some stores.  Maybe more like 45 min. Then we took the subway from there to go home :)

snack before gym: small bar, seltzer with stevia and cherries. 200 and relaxing on the couch for like a half hour.

Working for a lower calorie day...I would be happy with 1700 cal.

Tuesday avg 1700

bigger dinner: saag with cheese leftovers, curry cauliflower 350, ice cream 250...yup! 600.oh and grilled peppers 50.

1950 - good.

Weekly avg 2050 = good.


gym after work - had a GOOD workout. abs are starting to improve. 

no interest to diet more to lose weight, just to increase cardio


after work before i go home: quick trip to bank, quick trip to H&M to pick up stretchy, strapless bras. cheap and perfect to wear under ANY shirt. 


Finally it's that time of the month, really happy about it as I knew it was coming for at least 3 days before i could tell....happy when the symptoms beforehand finally lead into it...and knowing that it will all be over soon !  i think i'll lose weight afterwards. ...not working to lose weight, really what i need is to get more cardio fit.

Progress as of today: -2 lbs lost so far, only 6 lbs to go!

I agree with your not dieting....I think from what I understand is that you really are more interested in building muscle and strength...muscle weighs more...so the scales may not be so relevant....you are in GREAT shape!!!! Your FB pics are not showing any fat at all.....GO YOU!!!!

yeah it's more about strength as my weight is not very far from what i'd ultimately want to be - it's not even really a difference of more than 5 pounds. it's really an issue as you said i want more strength and ability to run in my legs as well as increase my heart's capacity to power me thru a jog. YES...it's much more important right now to work on my fitness :)

but i do have a little "flab" at my stomach area and when i put in work at gym, it's annoying that i am not burning all the calories i eat to keep my stomach even flatter. BUT, i'm not about to really lower calories a lot. so this is where i am at :) in general i'm happy. just don't want to gain more weight, because still i gained just under 5lbs from my lowest, and it's really easy to just keep gaining!

Were you able to leave work early? My boss had everyone staying until 5pm... Something was up; he was in a bad mood in the morning.

5pm that is very stinky. i have a nice boss when it comes to holidays. i think the office in Queens gets out at 2pm...we got out at 1pm. i am glad - got a ton more activity in after work. sorry you had to stay for the full time.
