Donkey on 06/08/2021:
I give you kudos to driving again today. I realized that my comment yesterday meant more like "don't stop driving altogether" rather than pushing you to drive the same exact route so quickly. But you did the route yourself anyway - BRAVO!!! And I am glad that it went well.

You've got SO MUCH going on right now. Please do take care. Maybe consider taking a week off from weights?

horn_of_plenty on 06/08/2021:
the reason i drove this AM was bc i didn't plan enough and would be very late if i took the train. LOL...

same kind of reaction this AM on the road, but i believe it's due a lot to not knowing the route, needing the GPS, and feeling a little lost therefore while driving. once i know the route, i think things may work out better.

Donkey on 06/08/2021:
^ Just a little concerned that you might start to burn out or bring on more anxiety, by trying to do too much in too little time. (((hugs)))

horn_of_plenty on 06/08/2021:
you are right. i am thinking i'll take a day off around Father's Day...

yeah, i don't seem up to having busy weekends along with a busy week...

i'm seeming to have to slow down.

Yeah, I need to better plan or just keep driving and not worry about public transportation? maybe i try to get the drive to come more second nature....?

like we were saying, i am not used to anything yet.

bearcountrygg on 06/08/2021:
Hopefully it does get easier......There was an old saying ..."I'm dancing as fast as I can"....and i know that several times in my life i felt like that was me.......i was overwhelmed, it was all a lot and it was exhausting.....there was no down time.....I was doing things half way....I was nervous and ill at ease much of the time. It's easy to do..overextending ourselves is exhausting....it caused depression and yet...at the time I thought it was something I had to do to prove myself. Now I look back and wonder why I was willing to forgo other things that would have been more fun......less taxing.....easier and less mind numbing. Really all it did was show me that life is more than complete exhaustion.....I lived through it.....but the happiness about life wasn't there...there wasn't room for it.....I was basically a robot moving through my days.....when i finally dropped some of the activities I was shocked at how relaxing actually felt......I had forgotten how i needed that to renew myself after a busy day. I hope the drive gets easier for you.....especially since driving takes 100% of our attention when we are doing that....I see where your dad is coming from....Mornings are busy before work...if time is short....it's a lot just to get ready to leave and make it out the door. Don't forget to pamper yourself a bit.

horn_of_plenty on 06/08/2021:
thanks...reading your entry provoked tension in me just reading about your "before life!" lol xoxo yes, i should get better.

Horn_of_plenty on 06/08/2021:
thank you for your comments. i am sure in some ways thinking back on your life you cannot believe you did it all...i think when younger you can do more than when older (in your case)...though i'm 38 which isn't old but i have more guards up than i used to.

Donkey on 06/07/2021:
Oh my, I'm so sorry that happened!!! And then to have no place to pull over to get yourself together to finish the drive!!! That must have felt terrifying... I suffer some PTSD with driving issues. I'm almost at the point where I think I need to go in for some short-term behavior modification therapy. (Fortunately, I don't go many places that have bad traffic issues, or if I do, it is very rare.)

But I do know this: If you don't get back on the road, behind the wheel, the problem will persist. The longer you wait, the harder it will be. (Speaking from my own experience) Well, you'll have the drive home...

I think maybe you just had so many other anxiety-triggers going on (short on time, no eats, even the weight-training adrenaline going on), that this may have imploded today. Maybe this is a fluke.(((hugs)))

horn_of_plenty on 06/07/2021:
dad said to me maybe just don't exercise in the AM...i think that's what going to have to happen...and i'm going to have to mostly take public transporation...at least i can study then...

but i do know i need to keep driving also...to end this issue...and work on it.

bearcountrygg on 06/07/2021:
That must have been so hard to deal with......I know when we went to NYC......we always just took the Holland tunnel and parked in the port authority...and then took buses all day...the traffic in Manhattan was terrifying and we didn't want to do that....I agree with donkey....it's good to keep driving...but not under pressure.....do some leisurely driving around home...with no schedule.....in order to keep you driving...but driving in NYC would make anyone nervous.....and you don't need that kind of pressure. You are already pressuring yourself between work/classes/exercise/possibly over scheduling........ possibly taking it a little easier on yourself is what is needed......you can do it all...just not all at the same time.....I agree with your dad....morning exercise starts you right out first thing in the morning by putting pressure on yourself.....we all need to be a little kinder to ourselves I think.

Horn_of_plenty on 06/07/2021:
thank you for the great advice..

bearcountrygg on 06/07/2021:
I also want to say that after sleeping all night...I know I have to wake up in stages....If I jump right out of bed and whip myself into action...I get nauseated......I need to take it a little slow...and ease into the day.....for me..sitting down with a cup of coffee is first..and that often involves an hour...then I'm awake and can go on with things......it may be different for everyone...some people thrive on cramming their days full.....some don't....your body is talking to you .....don't forget to listen and relax a little.

horn_of_plenty on 06/07/2021:
i need to think about your advice...and think what to do and realize i need to slow down..

bearcountrygg on 06/07/2021:
I think we all reach a point where the pressures can get to be too much.....and we need to give ourselves a break and relax a little with no expectations.....you have a lot on your plate.....

Horn_of_plenty on 06/07/2021:
thank you bear <3

innerpeace on 06/07/2021:
Oh yeah, crazy scary. That used to happen to DH driving he would have to pull off the road for a minute, if I was with him I would drive. I can only imagine but I know from watching DH that it is awful. He did eventually get a prescription for anxiety it has helped tremendously, especially with his 45 minute drive to work.

Horn_of_plenty on 06/07/2021:
i'm sorry that D had to experience it too. ugh. i am working on it, i do have an rx too for anxiety. too much change for me, i guess, at once.

Spring 2021 NOW thru TBD (no end date, class at my pace): - ACCOUNTING 1.  Currently Studying Chapters 3 & 4 this week....

Session 5 -  2021 - August 23 - October 8th BUSINESS LAW with Center for Legal Studies  good bc it relates to business management). Prepaid last year for this - another awesome thing - as i will not see a further loss in my savings account when this course starts as it's been paid for...

Near future: I will write email to CUNY to see if any pre-reqs are necessary to complete their MPA program; same email to SUNY about the shorter MPA certificate program...and i need to figure the pricing of both the shorter cert and the full MPA and do comparison pricing.

Sunday, June 6th - will be home today :) it's def an exercise rest day.

yesterday - It was a most awesome hike / walk...pretty much the best experience i have had for all of 2021.

well, i've come to the conclusion that if i want to study during the week without trying; and get exercise without trying; i should take public transportation a couple days a week! :) so, that's my new plan...two days a week public transportation so i can study on the bus / train as well as walk to and from the bus / trains...this should help me...and it's a money saver :).  and i'd drive the other days still.  I will be trying it out this week, and see how it goes. on bad weather days, i'll simply drive instead of taking public transporation, most probably..

  • later this evening - i'll do a minimal food prep for the week just so nothing gets wasted or spoils; may transfer some food to the freezer..food moved to freezer. DONE.
  • cleaned gp cages, yes, washed the bedding too. DONE
  • all laundry, and also wash winter coat - DONE.
  • studying - starting around 2:45pm after eating/cleaning apt up / organizing...not enough, but did some...may try to do a little more Monday eve, but not sure...

9:30 breakfast coffee 30, 2 waffles eggo 170, jelly 60...260...

snacks 11:45am nut butter x2 200, gummies new sour kind x2 servings 200 indulgence, sweetened seltzers..stevia of course...with those snacks

12:45 lunch nonfat banana yogurt, chia seeds, 140, pita chips 150, indian palak ....150-200, monster drink some of it...

2pm snack: sour gummies (all with sugar these days), seltzer 100

3pm snacky...latte made with almond milk and couple choco filled wafers. 110

5:30pm dinner / light meal : mini bagel 120, indian stewed eggplant sauce 150? 300, tops. 2 pieces of cheese 120. 400.

snack: choc dark 80% 100, small amount kombucha 50

excellent....Hershey lava cake kisses - so good! 100

2000 total. In bed very late, but that's ok, bed early tomorrow.

plan today is to study accounting - quick review of older notes, continue taking more notes - study 2 days this week, while tues/thurs commuting.  I wish i were able to take the next test for this course today, but i am not sure I can...I will see about it. Now that i'm studying again during the week, I know i'll be able to make much better progress (and remember the material better) by studying often. Last week, first week at the new location job, i didn't study accounting and it's tough to take a course and not study except the weekend (and that will not work for me!)...so i'm glad to plan studying back in where i don't have to do it after work when i get home (which i prefer not to do! during the weekdays - feels like punishment to have to study after work on weekdays when i have limited time in the evenings). so this seems a good plan...

will prob also talk on phone to friend, but will talk later in evening to her.

Monday, June 7 - AM upper body weights

after work - see if i can take more notes on accounting, lesson 5, Chapter 3.

Tues, June 8 - AM Leg strength; public transportation commute, studies

Wed, June 9 - AM Upper body weights

Thurs, June 10 - AM Leg strength, public trans, studies

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 06/06/2021:
I know what you are dealing with when it comes to time constraints.....we worked and had classes at the same time......many a night I was up at 3 A.M. writing essays when the house was quiet.....it was very hard. I typed out all of D's papers for him on an old typewriter during the day while he was at work...he would get home in time to shower , eat a fast dinner...go over what I typed for him and take off for class. We were both exhausted....it is hard....I remember it well....it's one of those times when it's easy to look back and remember.

Horn_of_plenty on 06/06/2021:
yes, it is so difficult to work and go to school. i've done it in the past, when i was much, much younger as well...in my early 20's. Now i'm approaching 39. I don't think i could go weeks on end with such a sleep loss like you mentioned at this point in my life!

and of course i'm lucky that my courses going forward now will be online...that is convenient unlike the time lost driving (it wouldn't be possible for me to go in person to school for anything at this point, too much traveling and not enough time to do it).

but i appreciate your comment, yes i do.

and i'm working on trying to create as much a balance as possible as well as incorparating some moderate phyiscal activity as it's always been important to me as an adult. i'm trying to make it work for the long haul...

...def not used to new commute or job yet!

Donkey on 06/06/2021:
A couple of comments from previous posts, that I'm going to put down here, moving forward:

You may find after Business Law that you need a break in classes before you take your next step (with the MPA). I got to that point with my paralegal classes, too. After a particular rigorous semester, I believe I made a decision to take a summer off. I had already gone through 1 summer of take a class, and could NOT doing it again.

Good idea to try public transit 2x a week. You might know after the 1st time (this coming up Tuesday) if it's a good idea or not. But I'm thinking, good to give it a trial run anyway, for those days when the weather is bad, and it's not worth driving (thinking ahead to winter, here). I hope it works for you now, though, to get in some study time and walking, like you anticipate.

So nice to hear that your walk yesterday was a success!

Horn_of_plenty on 06/06/2021:
i can relate to needing a break. after i got my first masters, which was right after my bachelors, i still went back for two more years of school soon after for xray for time...then i went into the electrical union to work...and my father suggested i take the free classes...i was very closed off to any further studies and did not take any classes for many years, like 5 years it took before i was even somewhat interested in studying or sitting in a classroom. so i can relate and i KNOW the feeling of not wanting to take another class...

i hope taking public trans will help me study and i know i can add in more walking at the end of the day, like i used to. so i will not need further to exercise at home anymore on those days or many of the other days aside from some biking or something in the evening on the days i drive...

...i hope the public trans works out, i will see how it is Tuesday.

you are right, it can be good in the winter during extra bad driving conditions....better than missing work.

Horn_of_plenty on 06/06/2021:
except, i think the best idea for my breaks would be next summer....

but you are right, i will need to take breaks i am sure...i have to be careful not to overwhelm myself especially the older i get i am not able to bounce back as much.

Donkey on 06/06/2021:
I should add this clarification: definitely send those emails to SUNY & CUNY about prerequisites. It may be easier for you to take a break between courses than you think!

Horn_of_plenty on 06/06/2021:
yes, i am SURE you are right! I do not think there may be any prereqs for the Master of Public Administration or maybe it was just the accounting course. i have to see....

and yes, i suppose it would be good for me to take a break, at times...i know there'll be breaks during the school year anyways...but you are so right...yes.

yes, i def need to write to them again to now know what the pre-reqs are on these programs since they are different from the MBA related ones.

Horn_of_plenty on 06/06/2021:
i should have taken a summer break, but, honestly, i enjoy learning even though the process of learning is quite a challenge on my own at home! ha!

thanks bear. it seems the best way...and i will be able to review my study notes, too.

Donkey on 06/06/2021:
Oh my, running late is not a good way to start a stress-relieving walking tour, LOL! Glad you didn't get there too late :-)

Horn_of_plenty on 06/06/2021:
yes, i got lucky on the timing and that other people were running more late than me! hahaha...

i was reminded me to be more away of timing for these walks if they aren't in the early am...and traffic starts to build up to really plan better to leave earlier...!!

Donkey on 06/04/2021:
Way to go to get those weights in this morning!!!! YES!!!! Hope it's a great day for you! (Well, at least it's Friday - yay!!!)

horn_of_plenty on 06/04/2021:
I'm happy to get the exercises done in the AM bc i can then rest more at night or just do cardio. Yes! my commute is short as long as I take the toll pay bridge to work...and the morning commute is quite short - only half hour or 35 min or so when i leave on time and early enough to skip over most of the traffic in the early AM....so, because my commute is shorter, and i do not have to wake up before 5am, as i considered anything before 5am to be sort of obnoxious, i will continue the morning full workout now that i see it's possible...!

bearcountrygg on 06/04/2021:
How did the parking lot exercise go at work yesterday?

horn_of_plenty on 06/04/2021:
i couldn't go out because i was relaxing at my desk while eating lunch; fine; but many administrators were at the trailor for a meeting and i didn't want them to see me leaving or give them a chance to talk or see me doing something other than eating lunch at my desk...

bearcountrygg on 06/04/2021:
I think you made a wise choice.

horn_of_plenty on 06/04/2021:
:-D yeah... have a nice weekend.

Jacky82020 on 06/04/2021:
Lots of ppl use the air fryer for kale, but I hated the kale “chips” I cooked in the regular stove. Nasty flavor and stringy texture. YUK!

horn_of_plenty on 06/04/2021:
i have liked the kale chips that i bought, mine were always soggy after a day they'd lose their crisp ha. i like all veggies almost all ways.

Jacky82020 on 06/04/2021:
I’m looking forward to air frying more. Bought asparagus today and frozen cauliflower.

Horn_of_plenty on 06/04/2021:
yeah, and even if you use a little oil just for the flavor, i'm sure the food is going to be awesome.

i'm sure the cauliflower will be awesome.

mybe you can even make a fried rice or something using cauliflower in air fryer....it would prob get rid of all the extra water in the veggies?

Jacky82020 on 06/04/2021:
I’m going to spray on oil. Think I have some olive oil spray. Not all that crazy about rice. I do have a cute red rice cooker though. Looking at a few air fryer cookbooks from my favorite, the Brooklyn library. Saw recipes for cakes, cookies, brownies, etc. won’t try any, but amazing all the stuff you can make in it.

Horn_of_plenty on 06/05/2021:
i meant caulifloer rice (cauliflower that resembles rice...)...may be a perfect way for it in air fryer, but i'm not sure.

i'm sure you'll get your amazing use out of the fryer.

Jacky82020 on 06/05/2021:
Never heard of cauliflower rice, but did notice some finely shredded pieces of cauliflower in bags in the fresh produce section yesterday. Is that what you mean?

Horn_of_plenty on 06/05/2021:
yes :)

If your ankle still feels a little tender, a bike ride might serve you better, especially if you hope to walk this weekend. Just a friendly observation & suggestion. On the other hand, being out in the fresh air, after your day/commute/dinner might be what you need too.

That's a great idea to do leg exercises (or any, for that matter) at work! I was reading some lady's post how she did chair dips at her workplace breakroom - great idea!

horn_of_plenty on 06/03/2021:
it wasn't possible today to do the leg exercises due to too many executives in the trailer. i will try for another day...but seems it's not really possible. maybe when i get a cubicle i can...they will put up walls around me.

yes, smart to rest and be careful of my ankle.

Donkey on 06/03/2021:
PS I found statistics to be much easier, conceptually, than accounting. I'm not sure why you're re-evaluating taking statistics. I mean, if you don't need it, or it's too expensive, then I understand that. But don't let your feelings about accounting stop you from doing what you need to do to accomplish your longer-term goals.

horn_of_plenty on 06/03/2021:
i do not want to take it if it's not needed for me for my work or degrees is the reason. i'm not worried to pass, it's just a process to take a course with little study time at work...

...i have less free time for studying now that i'm driving i cannot obviously study at the same time.

i used to have a good 45 min daily that could be used studying, at least. now, it needs to be fit in if i want to - and after work, i can tell you, during the week after work, i am not bound to study...i just cannot.

horn_of_plenty on 06/03/2021:
it's about if i need it...i may just do some other class...but i may stop with the classes if i cannot fit them in like i thought i would. i had thought i'd have study time, based on my commuting etc, now i have no study time during commuting and i can't bother stressing myself weeknights after work studying right now. it's too stressful, makes me overeat, and not necessary to stress myself on weeknights when i'm the one choosing if i take classes or not - nothing is "mandatory" for work, that's for sure...i just need to be able to relax enough...not make myself sick trying to fit things in.

Donkey on 06/03/2021:
^ Absolutely! You do need time to rest and relax. I can certainly appreciate how difficult it is with a full-time job (especially now that it's new, but even when it's not new any more), the commute, and life in general.

That really sucks about having a longer commute tonight. DANG...

Horn_of_plenty on 06/04/2021:
it's shorter when i take the bridges, i went the wrong way ha!

thanks j donk for your support. and tips. keep them coming never not say something, it doesn't offend.

Donkey on 06/02/2021:
So glad your first day is over! Were people nice to you?

How long would your commute be if you took public transportation? It's worth paying the tolls to cut down or ease your drive. I've been in that situation.

Ooo, watch that ankle! I hope your food day goes better too. What happened yesterday? Didn't bring enough food from home? That happens.

Horn_of_plenty on 06/02/2021:
my portable thermostat is showing that it's warmer in this trailer than the other office. but i am just overall cold. new boss has said they will put up cubicle walls around me, tall ones. if so, i will use my fan on and off, or, perhaps the walls will help me by making it so the air flow is less around me.

everyone is nice so far. they do not want to make problems or make problems when it isn't a necessary thing to do. they do not have the same personalities, at all, at the other office workers. they are also, on average, 5-10 years younger overall...they think in a more mature and youthful way, energized, etc. open-minded and smarter. yes, i said smarter. and not stuck in old ways.approx 1/3 of new coworkers also come from the old company i used to work for. it's not a coincidence. it's something that happened a few years ago, lots of change, when many from my old company joined my new company.

i waited too long to have lunhc yesterday and didn't plan good breakfasts. too many snacks and just too many carbs before too late of a lunch. i'm getting used to getting up earlier....increases my appetite a little bit.

thanks for asking. it's been a decent couple days.

yeah, i'm paying for the tolls beause it's a quality of life factor. i just can't make my commute longer than it has to be....it's upsetting to sit in traffic, more traffic, when i know there's a better way. so, i am taking that better way.

innerpeace on 06/02/2021:
Wow...that's a lot of tolls. I wouldn't like to spend money to go to work, but that's like DH spends money so he can shop at Sam's...please pay money so you can spend more money. That is just a big NO for me.

That would certainly be something I would have to work out with bills and other bills to decide if I wanted to put that $13 x 20 = $280 a month...do you get reimbursed any?

I hope you like your new office mates and people were helpful.

Horn_of_plenty on 06/02/2021:
i don't like to spend it...and i didn't for ...haha, 1.5 days!

but i'm not used to driving and the commute was just too long. also, i live "sorta" close in Queens and i was driving for so long it didn't feel close at all anymore.

With the free bridge, my commute in the AM is just over an hour. Coming home it's approx 1.5hrs at least.

With the toll bridge, it's 40-45 minutes in the AM; and it's only about an hour or so, a hair more, coming home.

i save around an hour, everyday.

i hate the amount and how i'm losing that money, but, i care about my lifestyle and i do not want to sit in my car an extra hour everyday...

office mates are nice. one likes to talk a lot, i feel badly because i do not work with him; and shouldn't talk to him too much :(

he loves to chat. i feel bad that i won't be able to engage...and i have to work with the other man in his office...so it's hard.

Jacky82020 on 06/02/2021:
Time is money. I’d take the tolls too.

Horn_of_plenty on 06/02/2021:
that's how i thought about it. i was like, no way am i going to punish myself and waste my time doing something i don't like!

Horn_of_plenty on 06/02/2021:
i am annoyed that it's my money wasted, but, it's worth it for peace of mind knowing i took the shortest way home.

Just a thought but what would you say to taking Wednesdays off, to break up the work week?

I love those cooked chickens from the supermarket. You can make some great bone broth with the carcass when you're done getting the rest of the meat off.

Horn_of_plenty on 05/31/2021:
ohhh great idea on bone broth...

also, GREAT idea to break up week and take a couple wednesdays off from work to study at home! i like that.

where'd you get that idea about Wednesdays? i had never thought of it...

well, i think that would be a great idea for me in July or when i take next course, in the fall. thank you!

i must be careful not to take too many weird days off when starting the job...like for a month...but starting summer it's a good idea.

i could also take off a Wed / thurs lol...one time in summer...for less traffic to the beach with friend, study the next day! haha

great thoughts.

Jacky82020 on 06/01/2021:
You have a new job? Or the same job in a different location?

Spring 2021 NOW thru ?: Prerequisite I - ACCOUNTING 101 - taking it thru Straighterline.com.  Paid. Currently Studying Chapter 2, decided i'm going to take my time with this course...possibly wait on the business law course below until fall?

Fall 2021 Sept/Oct or Nov start - Prerequisite II - STATISTICS 101 -  taking it thru Straighterline.com - I have been told i need to complete 2 prerequisites prior to signing up for the SUNY program. Payment when I take it.

Spring 2022 ?- SUNY Financial Management & Analysis Cert Program, 4 Master's level (that's what it says) classes to take up to 2 years because each course will take a semester long to complete and learn. Last TOM - 5/4.

Sunday - May 30th, ...- will catch up on everyone later today, yes!

PM Leg exercises - DONE!

Taking Accounting 101 - Exam #1 (out of 6 total), which is based on the course topics 1-4, Chapters 1-2 of the etextbook. i'm glad i made a call about the syllabus and also about which chapters in the book are covered in tests and which aren't part of the course! perfect timing. now, onto exam 1! it's a 25 question test, 1.5 hours to take (seems doable!) and open-book. I can do this!

Now that i realize i'm not reading the entire textbook, maybe like half?, I see i may be able to finish the course sooner than i thought! Not a ton sooner, but, it's more manageable now...i will see how far i am at in by 3 weeks from now...

got an 88, reviewed the three (out of 25) i got incorrect, moving onto the next chapters to study!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

queens farm is canceled bc of rain, fine by me, just want to stay home, relax, take more notes, eat a little better than i did Saturday. it will rain most of the day.

10:30 phone call - with parisian friend (she lives in Paris)., will hop on my indoor stationary bike during the call, to get in some movement as i didn't do any exercise or movement yesterday. It's important i get some movement in; and not just lay on my couch all weekend.

I figure i can do the upper body routine later, or, even tomorrow (sorta like taking a week off / some rest this weekend).

before the call, but, i think i will continue to make a dent in my note-taking for accounting bc i do better when i do it in more concrete, shorter, time-frames...with a definite end point. after the phone call, i can have lunch or a snack, then do my exercises, i think. :)

i gave some thought to how my routine will change with the new location of the office i will now report to on Tuesday to start. I will no longer be walking to & from busses (that used to add up to over a half mile just to and from my bus without trying).  i used to then add in a mile of walking without trying whenever i wanted to, on the way home from work. then, i was walking up and down the stairs in the subways. and then also walking at lunch (will see if this is still possible at new job...).

it will be 100% change in activity levels. I will now have to add in everything, all physical activity, on my time. I will prob end up using the cardio equipment in my apt now. I have the stationary bike as well as the stepper. I have a feeling i will use them in the AM. and I also feel that i will not do any more strength workouts in the AM, will prob push them to after work...I have to give it more thought, but, my commute and lifestyle need many changes made moving forward.

Also, as i take these pre-reqs, which take a long time for me to learn...i have to give MORE THOUGHT again to if i really want to get the 4 course graduate cert from SUNY for Financial Management and Analysis. Now that i've been bumped out of the main office, i think that just taking these two math pre-reqs will be enough, not to pursue the SUNY 4 course cert as it's not going to be useful (and the fact that it's $8,000.-).

Instead, i may just pursue the degree cert thru CUNY, which was in Public Administration, like I originally wanted to do...and would help me specifically for the courts..I won't have to make a decision for like a year, as I have 3 total classes to take before I start any certificate program at all. Also, if i pursue the one thru CUNY, it's cheaper than the Financial Cert thru SUNY because Cuny is the city universities of NY and SUNY is the state universities and they are slightly more expensive.

Monday, May 31st - Memorial Day Holiday !

maybe visit parents for

I should do a quick run to the supermarket for a few things, including kombucha, from the easier to park at shopping center. Also bread/wraps, a rotisserie or other ready-cooked meal, carrots for pigs, 2 peppers, kiwi for me as a change of pace, cheese,..and my freezer is quite full, so i should skip that isle for now...

a walk in AM ? will be cold, 50F, but i'll wear a winter coat. i'd rather go out early and be at peace by myself instead of later when everyone is out..

do upper weights

I am happy on Monday to be home, some more studying.

Donkey on 05/30/2021:
Very thoughtful entry! Yes, you are right - your activity level will most likely change, especially if you will be driving now. It's good that you have your equipment at home to fall back on. Even a 5 minute ride on the bike can help work out any potential kinks in your back, legs, maybe even core - not only from the change in activity, but also that which may be a result of the stress of starting in a new office!

This is one reason why I am grateful for the exercise equipment that I have at home, and I think you'll find it very handy, too, as I'm sure you already have, in other circumstances.

I can appreciate the thought that you've put into your plan for your future education. The nice thing is that you DO have this time, as you plod through the prerequisite classes, to come to a "final" decision. (Remind me again - is the public administration a degree or a certificate?) I kind of have to agree with the PA course, since working for the courts is truly what you want to do, and the PA path will be more in line with that job, rather than the job you have now.

It's nice that you have this weekend to regroup, rest, and study. I might say even better than having the farm activity (that has been canceled), although sometimes it's nice to be busy, to keep anxiety levels down. I hope you are not feeling too anxious about this "fresh start" on Tuesday. It really is a good thing, to be out of that toxic environment, and with new people that you can build positive working relationships with.

Horn_of_plenty on 05/30/2021:
i will have to delve, again, into my choices regarding certs and degrees. i think the MPA was only the degree...

and now i see there's a 1 course shorter cert with CUNY for a Certificate in Business Management or something. a 3 course. not as specific or good as SUNY, but, i can use it to propel me into a full CUNY program for business management later...

yeah, i do not think there's a shorter courseload for MPA...i have to see...that's a great question.

either way, i think i'm going to drop the SUNY program to replace with CUNY..

Horn_of_plenty on 05/30/2021:
but i'm not positive on that...as perhaps i'll see if the SUNY program can help me complete the CUNY program! haha...there's options.

mostly, i should look into options about a shorter Public Administration cert; because to answer your question, i don't think there is one...let me check SUNY.

Donkey on 05/30/2021:
I will comment on yesterday's entry as well, shortly.

And yes, I do feel like I’m “plodding” thru accounting 101! :-)

I def want to think about how much I will torture myself to take 4 more business Managment courses ....or not :) have a happy Sunday ! 3 days never felt so amazing at home
