(counting calories/walking/elliptical/weights)
Weight: 112.0

Weekend avg: 2150 per day.

Eats & Drinks:

9am Kombucha 80, yum.

10am-10:45am Breakfast: microwavable protein and probiotic muffin with a banana 360, also some of the whole wheat higher fiber elbow pasta 200 i cooked to which i added olive oil 100 and pepper/garlic: total here is 660 and so tasty.

750 approx in morning, excellent and tasty. just relaxing for a bit now....i want to read, but will prob get ready to go out and buy the fish soon and all other shopping, after i put the laundry away :-P

:noon lunch: : fuji apple 100, egg and egg white 100, bread 150, olive oil 50: 400, chocolate 200

350 in snacks before and during gym

bigger dinner than planned: burger king fries (too many) 400? and chicken nuggets 150: 550 and my own squash that i made 50. 2300, decent. not gonna eat anymore, just seltzer. and a jello sugar free.

It's 10:30am and my laundry is finished, tho not all put away, but clean and not wrinkled :)

Also, at 10:30am, i have a spaghetti squash baking in the oven - i will then roast it after i take it out and cut it in half. I'll also be roasting an acorn squash :) I am also cooking pasta and will cook fish later, once i buy it along with some greens for the week!

It's that time of the month, and i have been extra moody this week to my regret. I wasn't able to manage my emotions so well...but moving past that. I'm happy to be alone right now at home, cooking. I wish i had the fish, i'd have cooked it now also.  But the good thing about fish - it cooks quickly! I will buy enough to give Ricky one fish filet (cooked!) for the week so he also can eat well as he's been cooking and paying for my food lately....and why not give him a nice, baked fish!

Food shopping today:

fruit, greens,

a white fish to be determined (not sure which one i'll buy - to be baked later with simple pepper, lemon, salt, garlic),

cream cheese,

I'll be going to the gym in the afternoon, after food shopping! :)

I want to buy a couple guinea pigs (they are best to live in pairs, not alone!) as pets but my schedule is very busy this month on the weekends - so - i'm waiting till January to get them.  I have already ordered a guinea pig cage that i'm putting together today.

Also, money-wise, I have a lot of bills this month, including Union Dues that i pay every six months, this month I have to pay approx $275 dollars, so that's a major bill as you can imagine!

So, the guinea pigs will definitely wait till January when my finances are Fresh in the positive again!

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

Donkey on 12/03/2017:
Guinea pigs! Sounds like fun :-)

I found that once I hit mid-30s, emotions and hormones together took on a whole new adventure. Really bad. If you find that it's consistently bad, I urge you to talk to your doctor. That is something I regret not having done.

horn_of_plenty on 12/04/2017:
It happened to me when i hit 30 and this time around, working the OT last week, i am not sure but yes i was really ANGRY feeling. I'll have to work on it....and talk to dr only if it persists...i'll take your advice.

Donkey on 12/03/2017:
Also meant to mention that you've inspired me to think about cooking up the spaghetti squash I have here, as I'm anticipating having a pasta dish later on this week (Tuesday?).

horn_of_plenty on 12/04/2017:
It's easy to cook up, you may want to puncture it a few times around and i like to bake it whole after that for even an hour (flipping it after 30 min). Then it's very hot but easy to cut in half. I remove the seeds then. Then i coat each half in some oil of choice, salt, pepper, garlic, and continue to cook. Mine hardly browned at all, but tastes amazing after cooking so long with the oil, salt, pepper, and garlic.

workout was good.

I worked overtime every night this week except Monday. Wasn't expecting this. Hope it doesn't happen all Winter. it's very stressful when you think u are leaving at one time but then it changes. It's extremely stressful to me. I like SET hours. I do not enjoy and can hardly tollerate OT. but i guess if i have to keep my darn job, i'll have to suck it up because the new two guys work a lot, stinks, now i have to follow suit. because 2 people stay late, out of like 10, sucks.

oh and when you work late, everything after work gets late. Everything gets harder. You get run down. It doesn't work well with exercise, injury rates get higher. I have experiened a lot of OT in the past, and physically and emotionally it played huge tolls on me. I did already get very sick. So i hope the OT isn't going to continue to next week - i don't think so, fortunately.

6 day average: 2160.

GYM tonight, cannot work late. took only 25 minute lunch, instead of one hour.

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

worked half hour OT and then left bc i was hungry and couldn't fathom working very late into the night anyways.

I should walk at lunch...wearing heels but brought sneakers...

I am having stressful work days here - actually doing work but feeling very time-constricted making me not want to do ANYTHING!...don't worry, i am working, it's just really frustrating the time constraint.

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

innerpeace on 11/29/2017:
Hang in there! I hate stressful days too. I am right there with you. When I have tons to do, I just feel weighted down and end up doing nothing.

horn_of_plenty on 11/29/2017:
Yeah, i need to take breaks here and there, but it's impossible to be done. boss knows.

horn_of_plenty on 11/29/2017:
not sure how much the boss cares though. not sure how much i even care anymore...or if i keep this job anymore?

it'd be a big loss in pay, and it's best i keep it, just very stressful at the moment.

horn_of_plenty on 11/29/2017:
and yes, my job is seriously only for the money...like most.

4day average: 2162, good.

Looking forward to the weights tonight because it's a GIFT that I give myself that benefits me in ways I could never have imagined. From how i physically and mentally feel after completing a good workout to the way I look, weights are something that I added to my lifestyle so many years ago and thank gosh.

Despite the good and bad that happens in my life, Weightlifting will ALWAYS be a constant.

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

Donkey on 11/29/2017:
I thought almond butter was sweet. Is it more of a salty thing?

horn_of_plenty on 11/29/2017:
i think it might be sweet sorta, but not high in sugar.

Just a different change of pace from peanut butter.

More expensive though!

It is a little bit thicker, smears really nicely on my bread.

i was getting really sick of peanut butter, but after i finish the jar of almond butter, i may be sick of that too!

similar calories and stuff to peanut butter, i think actually slightly higher in protein.

horn_of_plenty on 11/29/2017:
i mean the almond butter i believe is slightly higher in protein, slightly lower in fat. not much difference, same cals basically overall.

No exercise tonight. Yes to baking flounder with minimal added ingredients just lemon, oil, garlic, pepper, salt. Yes to finally a cleaned brita filter so i can drink water and not seltzer for a few months till i have to do this again... :)

Jen, my good friend and work colleague also, is coming over tonight to cook empanadas and also help me with my fish - i'll give her at least two of the filets to take home to her family!  We made spur of the moment plans today at lunchtime.

bearcountrygg on 11/27/2017:
Fish is so fast and easy in the oven...or even frying...so delicate and quick....you will love cooking it.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/27/2017:
it was a pretty good first attempt, didn't use a spatula so it broke apart at the end, but it was a pretty nice first attmept.

got very distracted bc was cooking some Spanish food, a friend came over, and that food totally dissolved in the pot - it was old and the directions weren't around and we weren't making a good attempt.

the fish is good for a couple days ;) happy about it - and plan to cook it more often! and try all the types of fish since we have many fish stores around here!

1250...heading to gym soon :)

total saying 2050.

2 day avg: 2200, decent.

I have to pick up some wraps before i go to gym, totally forgot i was running low, i only have one more left and that's how i eat my breakfast usually....on a wrap at work.

Putting away the laundry i did yesterday.

Cleaning hamster cage.

Gym - planning for a really good session.

then i'll shower, lol, after the darn gym would be good.

Ricky is cookng a beef stew tonight, so i did errands with him this morning to buy the beef and groceries. I plan to eat some of the stew tonight, maybe one last movie also!

I bought fish, FINALLY!, for the first time, that i plan to cook tomorrow after work - SO EXCITED to FINALLY bake some fish! Flounder is what i bought :) I may not be able to finsih it all, so i might give a filet to Ricky on Monday night. I cannot wait to start baking a lot of fish to eat frequently, like at least 1x per month if not more to cook it. hoping to cook it more like 2x per month, to last 2-3 days each time i cook it.

Had coffee late in the night yesterday (so sleep was not great), while watching not 1 but TWO movies at Ricky's place. I have Amazon prime and finally i have hooked up my account to even 1 tv...i didn't even hook it up to my own yet (i've had prime for YEARS). So we hooked it up to Ricky's TV, although he hates the Amazon monopoly, and now he has accesss to hundreds of movies and tv shows, for FREE!

The movies we watched were not thru prime though - although in the future it will be. We watched two well-made flicks: The Beguiled, which takes place during the Civil War down south (but doesn't have to do with the fighting, more with a story of women living together / going to school because they cannot live with their own families / and a man that they are all falling for and sorta fighting for and then everything goes very wrong...). The second movie was also EXCELLENT. it was fiction - called The Interview...about two guys that plan an interview with North Korea's leader...which obviously would never happen today.

both movies were enjoyable, kept us captivated, and were well-done. They were not flukes, thankfully!

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

BearCountryGG on 11/26/2017:
Sounds like you are having a great weekend...and that first movie about all the women fighting over 1 man,,,sounds like every guys dream...until the part where it all goes wrong...LOL....Ya Think? LOL

Horn_of_plenty on 11/26/2017:
yes, and that's exactly how this movie goes...and when it goes sour, it goes REALLY sour. they women end up...really hurting him...

Donkey on 11/26/2017:
Thank you for the movie reviews -- I enjoy movies but just don't have the attention to sit through them, much any more, unfortunately... It does sound like you had a very nice weekend, though!

(counting calories/walking/elliptical/weights)
Weight: 112.0

Saturday was overdone, my fault, eating too much early in the day. total 2350. but mostly healty. Planning to be getting back on track, but it's the WORST when clothes don't fit how you want them too...and when you don't feel comfortable in your own skin. I'll get back on track as needed.

Happily stayed in bed till around 9:30

Leisurely breakfast 500

Snack 2 candies chocolates 100

Lunch: noodles with a hair of horrible tasting sauce 300, half turkey patty 100, chips 150: 550. Mikes hard mixed with seltzer 100 1250 :)

Went on a WONDERFUL 2 mi walk in the park with Ricky! finally some light cardio!

4pm early dinner after walkBites of Ricky's sandwich at Arby's 100?, fries a whole big portion 300?, less than half of the AMAZING chocolate chip cookie 200 (whole cookie is 500 cal!) 600 1850

Light night with Ricky (i just didn't plan my eating well today), almost a cup of tomato sauce that i used on the following: Arby's jalepeno bites (not that good - i didn't like them), toasted english muffin with butter and the tomato sauce. just too many calories today.

Doing laundry now, currently noon. I didn't see ricky yesterday which worked out better bc today we are going for the stroll - we didn't yesterday get together - and we can have dinner today and see a movie - makes for a complete day. Tomorrow I might rearrange furniture with him otherwise we'll do it on Christmas bc. We don't celebrate but we are off from work and makes for a good day to remodel my living room and entry foyer area so things are better arranged to make the space more attractive aesthetically!

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 11/24/2017:
Do you buy those shirataki noodles?

horn_of_plenty on 11/25/2017:
Not recently I haven't.

The reasons I don't buy them include because they are not easily digested and in the past they caused tons of bloated and constipation which isn't good if you have to leave the house for working to sit very uncomfortably and possibly even more in comfortable while working out and just never knowing when I will be able to be relieved of them!

I loved that they were no cal.

But you have y cook something with a lot of flavor to put them in or they really don't sit well in my mouth I need something to break up the texture of only having noodles.

You have to dry them really well.

So I Never really find a good time to eat them - they worked more for me when I had a teaching position with many days off - now they just mess with my digestion and I don't feel I am making a good decision to have them if the my digestion gets screwed up bc there's no time extra to be home or relaxed while I feel that way after eating them.

In the past I have bought them assuming I'd eat them on a long weekend or holiday but all they did in the recent past was sit in the fridge and eventually get thrown out .... but I do think their concept is GREAT if you can cook them and dry them and mix them fully into a dish - no need to eat a full package at a time - there's two servings in the package. I used to by mostly angel hair. I wonder if you could make Mac and cheese with the rice shaped ones :)
