Good Morning :)

If there's a poor habit i need to break this year, it would be drinking too many energy drinks throughout the daytime. (lately it's 2).

I did get good sleep but somehow woke up a little tired? I think it was just cold in the room which makes me want to stay in bed haha. Another reason why it seems better for me to sleep with heat on!

Up a little early with alarm clock to visit grandma.  Dad may stop by, we'll see.

I wasn't in mood to "not eat" again like I have the previous couple weekends when i have gone to see her. So, i had a few things around 7:30am this morning.

Breakfast: banana 120, Kashi Go Lean Plant based Granola bar with some protein (9g protein, 9g sugar, and 12% daily fat. decent). I bought the bar a few weeks ago knowing it looked good for a change of pace... and some seltzer with apple cider vinegar & stevia. 320.

Snacking 2 candies 40 Pre gym fueling: monster caffeine drink 30 and peanut butter chocolate chip Quaker bar 170 560....looking forward to eating some cooked veggies maybe Thai after this workout!

I'm still bloated and monthly thing is late it seems not here yet. any day now.


1600 today. 1880 2-day,excellent.

Big breakfast around 8:45am: banana 120, cooked cranberries 40, ghee 30, protein muffin in Cinnamon Apple flavor (i do prefer the chocolate / peanut butter flavors but it's part of the pack...) 220, a kosher brand of greek yogurt in dulce de leche flavor and it was gross 100 but i ate it, chips 160. 

11am - 11:30 snacking: persimmon (small one) and a large plum 100 total. and indulged on a Cliff Bar i've been wanting to try - peanut butter filled (didn't meet my expectations). 230 cal more...

12pm lunch; Followed up by a healthy and more balanced lunch of 400 cal 1400.... (not looking for very low cals today, just moderate - 1900-2000).

3pm snack: 3 egg whites, some bits of yolk, my vitamin, omega 3, and other stuff...around 50 since they whites were a medium egg size lol....

4:30 - small amount ice cream 50

Dinner: bean sprouts 50, with that saag from my coworker used as sauce over them 200-250?, chicken jerky 80, and then yogurt / ice cream 250 - 650, decent.

total today: is fine. home all day.  calorie avg will go down as this week goes by. 2150 calories today.  I walked around 45 min-1hr outside, from around 5pm-6pm. 

will go outside to walk just around my small neighborhood area, as the snow as been cleared and it's warmed up...but not driving until tomorrow. gym will be tomorrow. good to rest.


Did all my laundry - done around noon :-D feels good to have it all done until next weekend! :)

Possibly Planning on possibly staying home all day until tomorrow. Or gym later tonight...It snowed around 2inches (not terrible at all) but my car is in my garage and i prefer to keep it that way...) If i get antsy, I'll walk in stairwell i think, just to burn calories. I really don't need to go out and enjoying my time at home lately!

I DO have a ton of veggies already cooked up from yesterday. Enough to last a few days or more. And then i have the Indian Saag (like a healthy creamed spinach dish) that he gave me at the end of this week...so i have a lot of healthy food to eat while home. Just probably taking a nice break from exercise today...YES. gym will be tomorrow).


Def gained a hair of weight in my midsection and it's frustrating me....but...also still bloated! so weird. anyways, i am interested to see my weekly totals for the past few weeks so that i can see what's going on calorie-wise. Seems i need to eat in 1800's to maintain and closer to 1700's to lose.

So i'm taking a look back:

12/16/16 - 1890 avg - GOOD - met my goal.

12/9/16 - 1960 avg (a bit high)

12/2/16 - 2020 avg (too high)

11/25/16 - 2028 avg (too high)

11/18/16 - 2005 avg (too high)

11/11/16 - 1870 avg - GOOD

11/4/16 - 1780, GREAT

10/28/16 (when i was on trip) 2150 avg (too high!)

10/21/16 - 1900 - pretty good (also was on trip this week)

Ok. so it makes sense that i may have gained weight because since 11/18 (1 month) i have been eating high cal. Obviously eating a hair too much. will try to go back to eating 1800's and that should fix this.

I find that some weeks are just harder than others, when it comes to eating well (e.g. calorie range). This week, I was craving cookies SO BAD! Good thing I didn't have any around me, but there was plenty of chocolate-covered stuff at work that was oh so tempting.

I struggled myself with second helpings and "comfort food". A lot of it is weather-related, I'm afraid -- at least it is for me.

Yes, some weeks are def harder than others. When i have an event or trip planned, I find it easier to stick to goals. When i'm bored and don't have anything upcoming is when i stray.

Some is weather related, yes. even the fact that we spend more time indoors which is why it IS IMPORTANT to have healthy options around at all times...if they are available & convenient that's almost the full battle for me!

Good morning :-D Slept in till 8am :) And that felt great instead of needing to get up lately around 5:45-6am! Two hours more sleep! And that feels so nice after my high intensity weights workout last night...

...and that leads to an interesting fact and goal of mine - to plan more workouts before days i can sleep in on..to schedule workouts around times when i can get adequate sleep for muscle recovery! so i'll think about this more...and see if i can work to do this more frequently.

Breakfast: plum 50, light Lemon Cake Halo Top ice cream 240, and then a Mighty Muffin in Maple Pumpkin flavor 200 with added Ghee 30 and cooked cranberries 30. total: 550, great! 

I was productive and cooked up tons of veggies to have for this upcoming weekend and week... Lunch: 2 serving dinner chips 260 and some lunch meat 60. 320 900 good. Early dinner out with friends at 4:30/5 then party tonight at a bar for a friend's bday

prob around 2100 cal total. decent. not more than 2200 for sure.

Weekly calorie average is how i want it - somewhere in the very high 1800's will guess 1890 weekly average, but below 1900. FINALLY, SUCCESS this week bc i stuck to my goals...i think again?

Everything still moving slowly with my digestion...so weird but looking forward for it all to pass really soon :) Glad i went & picked up kombucha on Tuesday night. It's been really helpful to have it pretty frequently lately..

Morning at home 6am: kombucha in a Chai Tea flavor 60. and seltzer with stevia...

Breakfast: will remember to bring breakfast today to work!!! Bought dunkin donuts bacon and egg on a croissant around 550.

11:45am snack: most of a banana 100.

healthy 700 before lunch 

12:30 lunch: fresh veggies 50 (took them from stuff we had from vendor in AM!) along with leftovers (prob some potato included...) food brought in from vendor - Greek food and was great. around ummm.......600?

total after a satisfying lunch - 1400 tops. yeah, a lot i'd say!....doing GOOD.

snack before gym: caffeine and bar 150


after gym: 


Total today is good - 1950. SleePing in tomorrow took it off one last time until February.


Lately, to save quite a bit of time in the mornings before work, I'm only showering at night and washing my hair at night...it also seems to be better for my skin - it's less dry. Saves at least 20 min in the morning and makes it so i can wake up at 6am rather than 5-something.

1860 6-day avg :-)

I think the shower in the mornings, help me wake up and I find I do better And my skin feels greasy if I don't, I hate this and my hair looks flat and greasy too. I'll stick to the morning shower.

I know what you mean. I have very dry skin in winter and taking the shower at night & staying home is keeping the skin around my head / hairline from getting flaky...it works for me - even though i do think it's sorta gross not to wash down there in mornings, maybe just wiping is fine...LOL...by my hair is dry so it doesn't matter when i wash it...but i do get you completely!

It's great this stuff...i sometimes lay off bc i buy it per bottle and it's pricey...so instead i'm trying to get into seltzer that i mix with apple cider vinegar :-D

5 day cal average: 1844. good! my goal remains the same as last week - try to maintain a calorie average in the 1800's.

On friday, i'll be going out to dinner & then to a bar...where i'll prob order a shot or drink? so....the temptations will be there. I'll try to behave beforehand better than last week (last friday i also went to a get together with tons of temptations...!)

AM: kombucha - it worked thankfully 70. (glad i picked it up last night & that i've been drinking more probiotics...it's helping me out right now...)

I forgot to pack a breakfast, so settled with one of the bars i have at work. 170, a banana 120, coffee with extra fat free milk 70? (someone finally ordered milk for us so i took extra lol!!!) - 360...

snack: a second bar of the same so now i may just get sick of them - Atkins Nut Brownie bar so good!!!!!!! 170 cal...

lunch: def pumpkin, my last of the George Foreman grilled chicken sausages, prob some potato...trying to make better choices, and my skin is quite clear which i am enjoying so much! around 600-650, good.

5pm snack: plum 50

dinner will be light, i may pick up some jello. i also will have either ice cream (light) or a single protein muffin with extra probiotics or a kombucha 60...we'll see...it's gonna be an easy night. tried some of my coworker's wife's Indian saag dish 50??, leftover cucumber salad 50, 1 med egg 70 and 3 more egg whites 60, leftover seaweed salad 100 tops . oh...and chips 220 - total here: around 600. oopsie?

total today is decent though! 1900 :-D fine! I took a 20min walk at lunch. and yesterday i also walked - added up to prob 30 min at least yesterday and maybe more like 40. excellent. ankle is staying pretty strong & not getting worse, it's maintaining progress.

6am kombucha followed by seltzer with stevia and ACV....needing extra probiotics 60. Nothing helped, but my stomach is sorta settled at least, no movement. i even am digesting those liquids that i listed above slower. women will understand this - hormones makes the smooth muscles in digestie system practically stopped before the time of month.

8:30am at work: wrap with chickpea veggie burger from morningstar 200 and farmer's cheese 60. 260. and small nicely ripe banana 120. total here 380.

11:30am bar = 170

1:30pm late lunch - indulged at lunch, but healthy: 3 shrimp and a chicken sausage around 120-150, potato around 250?, lots of carribbean style string beans, lot of sauce, so i'm saying 300? total here: 700.

1350 or so, so far, good...trying to do the right thing and eat more bloating-preventative foods like potato and banana...trying....can't wait for this annoying feeling to pass. this is a bad week this time around.

craving milk bc we have none...had black coffee, now gonna have an energy drink. didn't sleep so bad, but not so good. i don't think the 8 hrs or 7hrs minimum is enough for me as i'm trying to train more at gym and include cardio now. seems my body enjoys 10 hrs...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

honestly, i just want to be home & sleeping....just not feeling high energy this week, at all....which is why i am GLAD to be out this coming Friday & will not come in or be wishy washy at last minute like last Friday...i'm off...and hopefully weather is good to walk at park!


So it's Tuesday, 1:52am. Woke up with slightly acidic stomach burn but nothing major...i ate a lot of chips right before bed which is prob why...

So drinking a seltzer and hoping things start to move along soon with my digestive system. I can feel things starting to move thankfully...hopefully i'm good by morning...sorry TMI.


Last night (Monday night) was good after work. I went to the gym that's close to work & that was a good idea - it sure does save a lot of traveling time (saves at least a half hour to 40 min if not more of extra driving to & from).  Also, since the gym is right next to work, I do not have to drive more than just move my car out of the lot and get a spot on the street. It also means that i'm NOT driving home during rush hour, so the time saved really is around 40 min overall which is a lot of time, don't you think.? 40min includes some of the time it takes to get to the farther gym and time coming home from it...anyways, i was home around 7:30pm i think last night...

ok, enough talk about that.

Tonight (tuesday) i have a meeting near my apt but for the union i work for.  It's a 10 min walk from my apt there & the meeting starts at 6pm. I hope to come home first, park my car in my garage or on the street, and walk over to the meeting in good time before it starts...it's a short meeting usually taking until 7pm but not later. That's why i went to othe gym Monday night - so after the meeting on Tuesday night i could just go home.

And well, I really do think that over 8 hrs will help me in terms of sleep this year & recovery with training. i am working on this.

lol, i can't avoid traffic but i will remember that going to the gym next to work helps, not hurts, in terms of saving time after work! and then no rush hour going home after gym :)

thanks for your kind words. I know you sometimes struggle with sleep also. I am beginning to think that i am going to need to sleep more - working on it successfully right now - in order to train my body more. (getting into more walking !)

400...prob a bar before lunch. maybe.

coffee with almond milk 20, and a cookie also very small 40., half my energy drink so far. the sleeping pill i took hasn't worn off...and i'm coming off a "long 3-day weekend" of sleeping in...

Atkins small bar at noon...lunch around 1pm it will be! 140

1:30pm: healthy lunch small bag chips 150, 1 chicken sausage 70, small amount veggies (at that point in month where i do NOT want veggies - happens for a few days) 100 tops. total here: 320.

920, good...feeling crazy bloated.  at least i know why....it's coming for sure....lol.

before gym , eating 4:30 at work, granola bar and caffeine (tired and annoyed and confused with this work also) 130.

1050 before gym. def bloated....

550 tops so many chips after ice cream for snacking / dinner lol...

7am AM Entry:

Woke up over an hour late, it's dark bc of rain and i slept thru my alarm clock fully. (i did take a sleeping pill last night around 6pm which i don't regret at all because i am def needing extra sleep). I will have to make up the time - AGAIN - so annoying - but totally my fault.!

...but not a big deal bc i will just work till 5pm instead of 4:30 and go right next door to the gym next to work right after work (no extra driving to further gym & saving time today= good). I will get home i think around 7:30pm latest.

but i need to try to drink this ACV in selzter and use the bathroom bc  i really haven't since the day before yesterday - TOM is approaching and i'm very bloated / nothing's moving...i don't want to leave until i use the bathroom so i can feel better at least about that since i haven't in over 24 hours and prob closer to 48.

lunch 350 bagel, cream cheese 100, lox 100, chips 200, cookies 100....850. 1050 :) I want to walk later hopefully before it gets dark....but with family now doing stuff so I don't know .....

walked approx 2mi at park 4:15-4:45pm

dinner: chicken sausage 70, bean  sprouts in light sauce 100, spinach in light garlic sauce 100, cucumber salad 150, ice cream 240: 680-700, kombucha - so bloated.

1800, perfect.

2day avg 1800, excellent.

Hello! Slept in well after going to bed around 1am-2am :) Up around 10am. NICE!

11am Brunch: ice cream of course Mint Chip and it's light ice cream a full pint 240 cal and chips 2 servings 260: 500, good.

1pm snack: fruit 50

2pm healthy lunch: chicken sausage 70 that was precooked but i grilled it up on the George Foreman Grill i have, then i had a small amount of potato 100, and bean sprouts sauteed 100?, and other greens 100. total here and all healthy: 400 tops which is really great. 

4pm before gym: 200

1150 :)

After gym: i doubt more than 600-650. excellent today.

1800 tops i think! :-) success.

Plans for today are NOT MUCH. really. just want to read and stuff. Laundry is done. GYM TONIGHT.  I was at gym really late thursday getting there around 6pm? but i will go a hair earlier tonight, 4:30pm or so probably i'll leave to drive there by 5.  I will be getting up early tomorrow to visit my parents / see my grandma.


Totally just booked my 1-night stay at Mohegan Sun!!!!!! April 29th...there's a fitness convention that weekend...so i'll be watchin' that ...and partying with two of my female friends....for one night the price was $350 ouchers!

but...i knew if i waited that i wouldn't be able to get even that price. so, i totally put it on my credit card. so bad...my friend that's staying over with me is paying $100. if anyone else joins us, they will also contribute, but i think it's only going to be me & her :-D in the room...and another coworker that actually lives around 20 min from Mohegan is going to meet us there to party.

I'd rather stay over the hotel than ask coworker to stay at her house for the experience of hotel...and if i meet anyone dancing....i don't always behave. Sorry if TMI. But i sometimes really like to party and be bad. Friend that is sharing the double bed room is ok with this...

VERY GRATEFUL to have this day off from work & be paid as a sick day #2 out of 5 days i have to use at my leisure until March 30th..

It was wonderful to get a full night of sleep, do some laundry now...and relax on my couch and not have to be at work!  Nice alone time, me time, relaxing time right now!

was lazy and instead of cooking a hot breakfast protein pancake, i had a ton of ice cream 320 cal (equals 1.5pints! of this lite but tasty stuff!) and raspberries 100. 420...is ok...

11am chips 200, 12pm light wrap with pepperoni and mustard 200.

snacking couple pieces jerky 30,

3pm small pepper 20, bar 130

1,000, decent....time to go out to the park...as planned!!!....so glad i'm bringing so many veggies tonight...don't want to ruin my cal average for the week.  I just need to eat below 1950 cal today...and i win!

5pm snack: pancake with jelly 250....

At party - crackers 100?, TONS of raw veggies 150, Meatball 100?, some eggplant that was breaded fried but only a little bit...100?, 2 mushrooms in a seriously creamed sauce like loaded but tasted good but too rich 50?, MOST of a LARGE garlic knot (too good not to try i was sooooo tempted! but high cal...250 at least), and two generous servings of a veggie dish sauteed string beans and mushrooms with bacon though! 400? yeah. total approx is 1150 but i doubt more??? 

total today (i did splurge i guess at this party) - 2400. ouch!

1960 - 7day average. NOT BAD, BUT, not under 1900. still decent. and i'm becoming more active. will try hard again this week!


I am planning to fill out my medical reinbursement forms for money back from my union, read, drop off forms that i filled out & go out to park that is 15 min away for a nice walk in sun. it's chilly, but decently sunny and perfect for a walk.

Happy Friday...home today. Slept decently, with sleeping pill, but woke a little early. men outside doing work, so sorta had to get up around 8-9am. but i am so thankful for good sleep!

laundry has been going on, just 2 loads, and i may not do ANY laundry for the remainder of this weekend. And if i do, it'll be minimal & done at my parent's house on Sunday.

So I'm home & do NOT have tons of plans today. I'm going to walk at the park, for sure. Later on, I will cut up veggies and place them on a platter to bring to a friend's house gathering at 7pm. I am picking up 2 friends at the subway first to bring them also to the gathering.

The subway they are arriving into is close but there will be traffic driving there. It should take not more than 20 minutes to get to them & then we'll drive to the gathering, in queens, but probably 30 min at least from the subway...i will also drop friends off tonight at subway....lol....i don't mind but it is an extra thing to do & time consuming...but in a good way - they are my friends. if i didn't take off work though, i would not be happy to pick them up...now that the day is pretty much freed up, I'm glad to pick them up! They are good friends of mine!!!

Progress as of today: 4 lbs lost so far, only 3 lbs to go!
