snack: Bar 200. mostly protein, didn't love it.  lately, not enjoying my bars as much as i used to at work...may be finally time for change. ?

I am trying to stay light on cals before trip. or at least today.

lunch: sorta big, good though. some heavy cream sauce but not much ... 150 tops? over cauliflower rice 100 tops, salami 100 tops, cooked veggies light sauce 100-150tops.  500-550 of stuff...excellent.

1,000.- so far before leaving work.

today's plan after work: drop off health forms at union hall near my place, pick up Rx, home after. :-D

snack on way home: plum 50.

I wrote something about a high possibility of losing a major friendship i have had with what used to be my best friend of 12 years.  getting thru it. very sad.  I honestly would rather not have any "hate" for her. I don't. If my friends invite both her and i out, i will still go...my previous entry if you want to read / give any advice. it's pulling a bit at my heart and it is sad for me.



9am late breakfast: 500.

snacking: strawberries 150 (entire quart) they were getting old, had them probably 2 weeks in back of my fridge.  :) still tasted great though.

650...trying to remember if i ate something else but no, i don't think so...

 Snack before gym 300 950

Big but balanced dinner: probably 700 tops.

1650 today, excellent.

2-day average: 1850


i have already done laundry and starting to think about my trip more. i don't need to go food shopping at all - got enough for these 3 days till i go on the trip i'd say..maybe some extra cooked veggies (but seasoned / sauced) might be nice though. i may get a minimal amount, yes. but that's it. and possibly some strong kombucha - for the morning before i go on this trip...but this is it. no major food shopping. some bananas could be nice also lol...so i guess a small food shopping today could be good...maybe on way home from gym, we'll see. plans are minimal this weekend on purpose. i wanted to relax before this trip since after it i'll be taking one day off & then back to work as scheduled for most of the winter. so just resting and relaxing as i had intended and it feels good...

Leaving Thursday and we are staying till Monday. It's around 3.5 days to spend in Texas doing things. Perfect amount of time, super excited.

It will be my first "longer trip" since 2012. LOL. I am so thankful & happy with the direction of my life.

Was on phone with my friend Renee and we planned the rest of our Texas trip for next week. 


On a sad side note, after 12 years, I have ended my friendship with my best friend. We had a big argument to end it yesterday. Lately, I was feeling too responsible for her life, etc, and there were arguments more and more. I was starting to view her as being too negative, etc. I am no longer friends with this person, who used to hold a huge importance and value in my life. It's a void now that isn't full yet....

I had told her that i felt she was thinking too negatively...i said it bluntly in a text and over a message and i didn't sugar coat how i felt. 

Her response was that i need to get off my high horse, back down to reality. See all my failures, failure at teaching (which i truly don't like thinking about - and it hurts for her to remind me!), told me i'm not grateful for everything my father has given to me (he gave me a car, helped me out immensely with my apt, and helped me get a job)...she told me i am ungrateful for this...she told me I embarass my father at every chance i get...that i live in a fantasy world.

I decided that if she is my friend, she couldn't possibly say those things to me when i am simply telling her that life isn't all lemons (meaning her life has good in it that she is overlooking!)....she totally opened my life up to me telling me all that was / is wrong in my own life! (this was how she responded to me)

I don't know why except to make herself feel better? 

I think that what used to be my best friend is simply not a good person. I don't even think she really is that nice at all?

I had shared a ton with her, gave her all new experiences. She gave me nothing really. 

Maybe we grew apart?

I am not saying that everything i said to her was great, or that i never complained to her, no, but....i don't know if being friends with someone who views me as unable to take care of myself is the type of friend i ever need to have again.

she told me that i'll get what i want now...to be alone, miserable, and a hermit.

Her words were stone cold. So strong and mean. I don't owe her my friendship...and certainly not to someone who doesn't want the best for me. It seems that she wants me to join her in her struggles? so confused.

Wow quite an emotional day for you. Shedding negative people around you is good do not feel bad. Friends you pick family you have to keep. Live your life the way you want to live your life and look forward and not backward. Have a good evening.

Oh my! I am sorry you had to go through this. It sounds like your friend lashed out at you for your comments about the attitude you have noticed in her lately. To say such hateful things is really shocking. What Puddles said above is good. Sometimes it is time to let people go. Since I have been back on this site I have noticed that you are quite positive and it's wonderful to see/hear that in you! No one's life is "rosy" all the time, but it never pays to focus on the negative. One of the reasons I quit my job when I did and because I could was because I had become too negative in that environment. Usually I can function in a negative workplace because I am typically pretty positive and kind of march to the beat of my own drum, anyway, but I couldn't there. If I couldn't have quit when I did, I would have just found another job before I left, but I would have left, anyway. It is taking me a little while, but I am getting more positive again!

thank you. it's so easy for some of us (myself included) to get on a negative spiral...my job has actually in some ways helped me to see how to overcome it - when i see women with so many problems in their families / life, but they are HAPPY. Or they are thankful for what they do have. I have learned from what I have witnessed around me..I didn't really say it very well in my comment back to you, but i'm trying to only say that it's our choice how we want to look at life. Half empty or half full (when we are just involved in our everyday lives we live...not talking about when difficulties to strike...) i am not sure i'm making any sense.

That is very sad, and yet, we have discussed the topic of toxic people and how sometimes you just have to let them go until they can make positive decisions in their lives to change things. I don't doubt that things might be tough for your friend, but what she doesn't see is that things could be much worse! (They can always be worse, which is why we must always be grateful for what we have.)

Perhaps she is resentful of your blessings, but you can't help how she feels. That's up to her to decide if she can look past that and appreciate your friendship for what it is or not. Apparently, at this time she cannot, as evidenced by what she said to you.

So you've struggled to figure out what path to take in life, and you've been blessed enough to have a parent who is able to and does help you out. I don't believe for one minute that you aren't grateful for your blessings.

Give it some time and see if things will heal over. It might be that this friendship has come to a natural end and it's time to move on.

I forgot most of my lunch at home bc i didn't pack it lol...at least i packed breakfast! and caffeine!

Home in morning early: cranberry kombucha & some leftover seltzer with stevia that was sitting out. 60.

Breakfast at work: coffee 50, wrap 100 with cream cheese 100 and lox 50. 300.

350 or so. good!

snack: ? bigger banana 150.

2nd snack at noon: cupcake flavor high protein bar, actually a decent flavor. 150

650. excellent.

lunch: not sure - Indian & leftovers. (ordered with a coworker and even trying a new dish - fenugreek leaves). little too creamy, but good food. 200 for the Shrimp dish and 300 at least for the cream dish ugh...and some veggies 50. gonna estimate lunch was 700 tops. and there was a hair of rice too. 100.

1350, decent.

dinner: out & not sure? friend cancelled and very happy about it because it was a last minute thing anyways and i wanted to go home after work. yay to easier day!  going on vacation next week so i wasn't in mood to party at all this weekend. dinner will be LIGHT. so FULL!

evening at home: food that i have at home. no need to buy anything.

so happy i'm not going out tonight to the bar!!!!! so happy. still need to plan a few things with the trip.

Weight is still right around 115. excellent. This is the best I've maintained probably forever in my adult life.  When i was much younger (21 thru 24 or so years old) I maintained a hair lower at 112...but far less muscle mass. I am far healthier now based on upper body strength. Working on my lower body now!


Back to work & feeling more relaxed than I've been in a long time!!


Impatient and want my notary test results...should come in mid week of the last week of October!


6am: Kombucha 50, seltzer with stevia (maybe should have skipped kombucha today...)

8am: wrap 100 with cream cheese 100 and lox 50, banana 120, later coffee 50.

Snack: 150 mostly fat / lower sugar, low protein. tasty!

Lunch: healthy, not more than 500.

1150 before end of workday.

snack before gym: special k snack 100, caffeine / soda

after gym: TBD, maybe jello and ice cream. up to 500 after gym, little extra. good.

1750 today = excellent!

6am early: kombucha 70. New flavor because i was at a store i don't go to much on my drive home from work and saw this brand i like & a lovely new flavor called Dragonfruit Lemongrass. Quite excellent!  This brand is the strongest. Now i remember why i love it so much. Clears your system out quite well in the AM! sorry if it's TMI.  I sometimes have issues with this part of my life, so it feels good to be able to control things & get things done before the day actually starts and i leave my apt. Really sorry if it's too much for you to read?...

7:45 after reviewing some notes for test - BREAKFAST. wrap 100 with lox 100 and cream cheese 100. small banana 100. some caffeine.

60 cal in candies 550, later a protein bar 750....

I did get home around 3pm :)

late lunch, bigger, at 3pm: leftover from Monday egg white oily omelette 150?, cabbage 50, leftover saag 150?, chips 150, plum 50. 550-600.

also snacking: cabbage slaw, small amount 100, seaweed salad small amount 100, and roasted veggie stuff 250? 450?

total so far: 1800...this may be it for tonight. i took a sleeping pill at 6pm (just now) and hope to get some good sleep - i need it.  Last night i was up on & off thinking about the tests - which is fine :-D

little more - 7:30pm: Quest bar in Oatmeal chocolate chip. 200 cal.

total today is quite fine: 2000 cal :-D GOOD.

They were hard still, but i feel so much better about it this time. The first test was EASIER than the second. Each 40 question test took me 20 minutes. I took a walk inbetween the tests! One was at 9:30am and the other at 11am. I was happy to be outta there around 11:30am. 

So i went to the dermatologist but was an hour early and she was at lunch. So, i actually went to Aerosoles and bought boots. LOL. i have no money but, I don't know, now I have some for winter. I didn't own any "nice dress up" boots.  Now i can wear them instead of sneakers always. I'm happy to start wearing boots as my legs are getting so much better each day and week. Happy.

I also get the slaw, seaweed and roasted veggie mix also right near aerosoles and the dematologist (huge shopping center / strip mall outdoors...) nice area.

I also then on the way home from the derm I put air in my tires and vacummed my car. After the late lunch, I did some laundry. 

Happy to be home now & resting :-D


I ended up relaxing last night & staying up a bit late. Not too much studying going on - more like web surfing. I have studied other days beforehand. There was no sleeping pill because i got home later than expected - and i didn't want to be groggy for the morning test...and that's ok!

Anyways, I went to bed around 11pm and due to thinking about this test, I was up early just my own body wanting me up and reviewing for the tests later. I feel that I DO know the material well enough to pass this test this time around.  I admidt I may not know everything PERFECTLY. But i should PASS.  I'm going to take this darn test 2x. $15 each time. Once at 9:30am and the second time right afterwards at 11am.  

Then at noon, I'm off to the Dermatologist that i booked this appt for around 1 month ago.  It's for botox in my underarms because i sweat more than normal and the botox totally controls the problem!

The rest of the day I am HOME. I have to fix my laundry cards back at the housing office because they are replacing the card readers so...i must transfer my $150 on my card to a new card now or i'll miss that cutoff and lose all that $! I wish i knew this before last week, then I wouldn't have put so much money on my card last Tuesday to begin with! I would have put a minimal amount that i wouldn't mind losing some of..like $30.

THANK GOSH I READ THE NOTE that maintenance put under our doors about the laundry card or i would have had to make other plans rather than go there myself to the housing office. Today's my last free day to fix the card now.  !!! The cards expire while I'll be on vacation next week! Wow time is FLYING.

I feel life is really busy in general for working people, especially here in tri-state area & I am extremely thankful for this day to be able to take these tests on my own time, per se.  I will also MAYBE take a short walk in the afternoon. Bed early for sure with a sleeping pill maybe because I want a good night of sleep...

Woke up hair late, on purpose, so had the kombucha & seltzer but didn't have time to really relax / use the bathroom. All is good though. Leaving work early at 3pm today..will quickly maybe swing by supermarket to pick up the bare minimum - maybe some lox for breakfasts this week...

Really i don't need anything else....just picking up lox & that's it.  Trying to use up what I have & not waste money as I am actually working on saving it for my upcoming trip in 9 days!


6:30am: Lemonade flavor kombucha 60

8:30am at work taking it light & easy right now: coffee and banana 200

9:30am rest of my breakfast: wrap 100, cream cheese 100, quinoa burger 150: 350.

11am: bar...it's ok...whatever today. 200. not that good. protein bar.

lunch popcorn only 150

stopped home to poop before gym since i got out early at 3pm...SERIOUSLY. BEST DECISION BECAUSE NOW NO MORE GAS! LOL. i was too rushed in the AM and always nice to get outta work. i already picked up some cold cuts (lox and salami for the rest of the next several days. only other thing i need, forgot to check, is bananas...to do tomorrow).

3:30pm: kombucha again on the way home, did the trick 70, little bit seltzer, granola bar 100. energy drink other half. 

1150...before dinner. i want to go to bed early tonight before this test.

after gym: not more than 400. did great.

total today: 1550 - excellent.

Having a tired day - I think a lot having to do with taking a (low dose) sleeping pill last night around 9pm). it was over the counter and minimal strength but i am still tired and didn't sleep enough i guess.

Will eat an early lunch at my desk, leave work at 3pm (in honor of the Holiday Yom Kippur that starts at sundown - even if i'm not partaking in the custom, i will leave at 3pm).

 8am: kombucha (really nice flavor never tried of a brand i don't love but the flavor was calling my name and it was highly refreshing so nice! It was the LIVE Kombucha brand in Refreshing Rhuberry Flavor. 60 cal. also had some stevia in some seltzer. Trying to do my thing before a busy day on the road!

9am Late Breakfast: saag around 200?, wrap with quinoa burger 200. 400 total. oh and a banana 120

550-600..now gonna study.

Candy and caffeine 100

Lunch: if diner, blt probably and a side of veggies?

Big egg white omelette 250? Toast with ketchup 300 tops 550 and some potato 100 tops.100 650.

1350... Apple picking : apples up to 150-200

Light meals : fiber one bar 100, chips 100

1750 - tops ! Great!

My plan is to finishing drinking these drinks, maybe fast shower yeah, get ready & then study a little bit if time since i did study yesterday around 1hr, but then didn't study last night like i should have. Didn't watch the debate either....i will look it up on YouTube maybe tomorrow or tonight. I was just relaxing yesterday after the gym.


Right now it's 8:30. My friend is coming here at 10:30 and we are then driving out east around 1hr to pick up our good friends (married couple) and then all four of us will drive out even further east (out east on Long Island) to Apple Pick! We are going for my best friend's belated bday celebrations.  Looking foward to picking lots of amazing apples & giving some away to good friends & family.  People who would enjoy them & who i would enjoy giving a freshly picked apple to! LOL...

The orchard we are going to is called Milk Pail & has a wonderful selection.  I know this because my best friend & I went there last year! Here's the link:


Should be a wonderful day. Lunch on the way to apple picking also for the 4 of us at a Diner nearby the orchard probably. Then apple picking & then dropping my married friends off...and driving back home to Queens with my best friend. We may get food around here in Queens I would think before she then drives back up to White Plains (another 45 minutes away for her!). Lots of driving but well worth it for today!!

9am - 600 cal breakfast a bit high but will be filling. (it was too much food...but very filling and satisfying: pumpkin pie light and fit greek yogurt 80, banana 120, fruit flavor oatmeal 200 made with water, chips 200.)

11:30am: Saag...kinda like an Indian versian of Cream of Spinach. 300 cal at least.

Some caffeine (monster energy drink.) after breakfast.

Zooidles worh Indian food and ice cream. -around 350 1250, good.

snack before gym: 150 cal of a fiber one strawberry cheesecake bar so good.

after gym, 8pm late dinner: subway sandwich and some leftover roasted veggies my mom made. around 550 total for dinner. 

1950 today, good. Healthy. 

2-day avg is 2100. slightly high. but at least healthy.


Today's plans are VERY simple: 2 things ONLY and possible small cooking at home things that i already have in the fridge - but DOESN'T HAVE TO BE DONE TODAY.



2. GYM

I don't really care the order i get them done. Gym will be done early because i will get out of work EARLY on Tuesday for the holiday and YES, i will go to the gym early that day.  I am doing what I need to do right now in order to feel good and get my gym in. I feel I am an adult and it is ok to make decisions like these. My health comes first.  And skipping the gym is not in my plans, sorry.

On Wednesday, our day of atonement and forgiveness, I will be taking the New York State Notary test 2 times. It's given two times and can be taken as many times as we want. I need to pass and failed it last time. That's why i'm making sure this isn't the case on Wednesday. I didn't want to take off any more time from work which is why i'm taking it on my holiday. Like i said, I'm an adult and need to sometimes make choices that not everyone is going to agree with, but choices i am content with myself.

After the tests, which will end around noon, I have a dermatologist appointment that i booked around 1 month ago & have been waiting for. I should be home wednesday from everything at around 3 & plan to maybe to laundry then - so i have less on the weekend. Or, if weather is nice, perhaps a walk.  And that's how I'll be spending the Jewish holiday. :) And that's totally ok. It's very busy here in the NYC area. We work hard and a lot.  I am very thankful that I have the opportunity to spend some time outside work and doing things that are helpful to me as an adult.


I actually have a bad pain for around 1 week, straight, in my right side only thigh, butt, and lower back. it hurts so badly. I don't think it's sciatica but very similar. It's from a lot of sitting (like at work and home on couch) and i think that i favor my right side even when driving...so now i have a slight problem. Just trying to ignore it, really. This type of pain will usually go away on it's own with more movement....that's what i read online. It is painful and annoying mostly.  I used to get this pain at certain times of the month before my you-know-what. But this week shouldn't have had any pain at all....and it's strange how the pain showed up out of nowhere...! That's why i'm positive it will also go away on it's own...

Sounds like a great plan! Sorry to hear about your pain. That does sound a lot like sciatica. You know what I have been dealing with - as I have complained about it enough - LOL. Hope it gets better.

Be careful with your back! Sounds a lot like the sciatica that I have from time to time (but not in a long time!)...

Thanks Ju. Year, it stinks. :/ but i know that i put more pressure on my right side like when i lay on the couch. I know it will eventually go away on its own...

Weight: 115.0

Breakfast: loads of low cal ice cream (halo top) around 420 cals which equals (if you want to know the volume) - 1 full pint and 2/3 of a second pint! i feel back to sleep afterwards for around 2 more hours!

2pm lunch: wrap and chips 250, wrap was filled with cream cheese 100, lox hardly any left like 20 cal, and a lot of saag spinich with the cream around 3/4 cup? 200 cal maybe. so around 550-600. good. and caffeine now. oh, forgot the banana i had around 1pm.

so far today: 1100. excellent.

Snack 150 1250... Healthy dinner prob around 800 tops. 2050 and healthy.

came home after 10pm and hungry - had a tasty protein muffin 200.

2250 total = good.

It's my dad's 64th bday. will have dinner with the family. possibly sleep over and visit my grandma with my dad tomorrow (wasn't in the plans, but, feel bad not to go with him if i sleep over..) yup, it's a BBQ. totally bringing over some extra veggies for myself so i don't have to indulge in higher cal options. Trying to eat extra well before my Texas trip!

Progress as of today: 4 lbs lost so far, only 3 lbs to go!
