I slept in too! It was wonderful!

You're doing so well with getting in lower calorie counts. I think this is where I'm going wrong - I'm eating too much. Oh well, so much for intuitive eating.

Horn_of_plenty on 02/02/2020:
Yeah, the extra sleep just feels amazing to my body!

I am not sure how coworkers sleep so much less than me!?

Lately it seems i'm having more higher cal days so it's good to get in lower cal days to balance them out. lately, or since after my "injury," my eating has been different than before the hospital.

anyways, if you see, one of my secrets to a lower cal day is to eat "snacks" for dinner. I have so many special things in my diet to help me - low cal coffee, kombucha, dried jackfruit is another new one, fruit, using stevia, last week eating cottage cheese was helpful...my wraps. I don't know what i'd do if i didn't go out of my way to help myself feel fuller...i don't know what i'd do if i couldn't have all my favorite things!?

I feel like I ate a lot at dinner too... yet I did not feel stuffed. I was just OK.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/31/2020:
I am able to eat rather large quantities of food, due to training myself to do it. that's why i love veggies. ricky brought home food that i wouldn't usually choose myself plus i had a little dessert...it all adds up.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/31/2020:
i didn't train myself on purpose to eat large amounts, it's a habit and hard to break. so that's why veggies save me along with other things i do. but when it comes down to eating just typical american / american diet ways, i struggle or just eat like any other person would. not smaller quantities.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/31/2020:
it was half a "vegetarian sandwich" with cheese and some veggies with a light spread and little bit of avocado, then a lot (2 portions at least) of these large croutons / bread crackers dipped in over a cup of cucumber yogurt, and part of his chocolate mousse for dessert lol.

LOL - Therapist canceled on me for tonight - I TOTALLY DO NOT MIND! :) happy to not drive tonight!...

So, change of plan - drive to Fairway (just a few exits on the highway) as a change of pace since i'll already be in my car from the Train Station - don't need to go home to get my car - pick up veggies for my Pets bc we are very low on veggies for both myself and the cutie piggies...and come home. maybe pick up some seltzer too.

_________________________________________________________

I left for work early today bc i drove to the train instead of taking bus and needed to find and spot and judge how long the walk from my spot to train would be. it's good i left extra early because there were not many spots left! :) Wednesdays are the easiest day to find parking since there's no side of the street parking rules in effect for street cleaning on Wednesdays at all.  I am lucky i chose Wednesdays to drive to Long Island for my therapy appointments after work and i'm lucky Ricky gave me the idea to skip the bus and just drive to the train on Wednesdays. I found his car as i was walking, he got a VERY close spot to train bc he drives in wayyy earlier than i do! Not to go into it too much, i got to work early, so i can leave early i guess, then i have to commute home on train, grab a snack so i'm not hungry, and drive to my appointment. i will prob get there early so i may just stop by my parents, first, so i can drive home right afterwards and not sleep over my parents - gotta take care of guniea pigs and it will be better to go there and back in one day...just gotta do it without stressing. Without traffic, the drive home / to appt is 45 min (which is what it'd be coming home if i don't sleep over). it'll prob take with some traffic around an hour to drive to the appt/parents today, after work. then do appt and see parents, then back home 45 minutes. That's on top of commuting around an hour each way to work, LOL. I may be looking for a different therapist soon, not sure. we'll see how bad this commute stuff is today.

Progress as of today: -2 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

legcramps on 01/29/2020:
At least if it's one day a week, it's not that bad. Of course, it adds up after awhile doesn't it?! I used to drive an hour and a half one way into the city twice a week. Thankfully I was able to share some of the driving with a friend, but it was still tough.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/29/2020:
just a bit of too much commuting with 2 hours with work public transport, 2 hours with therapist commuting all in one day :( ah well. i guess it's driving practice for now.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/29/2020:
because i no longer wanted to do it on Saturdays...and my therapist switched jobs.

bearcountrygg on 01/29/2020:
We have had long commutes ourselves....and it can be done and becomes a habit quickly....D had a drive to Detroit for 32 years that was about an hour or more...and that was when he did his thinking....in the mornings it was planning how he was going to get his crew started...and on the way home it was mulling over any problems of the day...and ..LOL...and probably how he was going to switch gears and deal with the kids and I when he got home...LOL...a commute can be a good buffer when going from one place to another.

2050

Tonight:

skipping the flusing (asian) train home for the week to make my mom happy (Coronavirus)....taking E train....the slightly faster one, anyways.

weight training for upper, got situps done with morning in just the nick of time thankfully don't have to include them tonight, even if they don't take long, they make the rest of the workout longer...if that makes sense. the pushups only took like 5min this morning, but, it's like 15min saved tonight because i sometimes stretch these workouts and take really long breaks between sets (get distracted).

also, will pack food for work the night before....makes the morning so much easier :)...if time, i'll do the laser hair removal home device. (weights shouldn't take long tonight, maybe if i work at it, only 20 min to do)

20 yrs in the union = health care for life....thinking to stay for 20yrs, then leave to work for the courts...????...sounds like a good plan although the courts seems still intriguing to start ASAP.

bearcountrygg on 01/28/2020:
Sounds like a good healthcare deal.

Horn_of_plenty on 01/28/2020:
it is. i think the Healthcare is also offered for the courts after 10yrs.

i'm just thinking options and how by 50 i'll be less likely to want to start over...

healthcare of course is soooo important.

Donkey on 01/28/2020:
I'm going to be 50 this year and I'm seriously considering a career change.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/29/2020:
a career change or a simple job change!?!?

i was thinking i may do what i was thinking of (court thing) as early as possible if i can, despite a monetary loss, if i can get into the courts in a "pre-clerk" type of position. it would allow more opportunity for advancement to head in early and i think there's some medical insurance available for retirement after putting in 10 years.

got an oil change, took care of bills, slow cooking a soup, will see ricky for dinner and also watch a movie with him beforehand :) no therapy today thank gosh and for now on it's on Wednesday evenings which will be interesting for me to do every week as it is tiring to go there from work (involves a longer commute home, then probably sleeping over parents for that night!) but, it's fine. I wanted to purposely free up my weekends and I'm very happy that they are more open now.

once again, up too late for any situps in the AM, so i'll do them in the PM tonight along with the bike.

I have a LATE New Years resoultion which is to END my laying in bed habit listening to the radio during the weekdays.  I do like listening to the radio, but, it's screwing with my morning routine and fitness commitment.

kombucha 50

8:30AM breakfast: greek yogurt stevia 140 with blended (can) pumpkin with extra stevia 60, coffee 50..300..

10AM snack: GRANOLA BAR 110 sunbelt banana oat so good!; almonds 100

3:45pm snack clementine, baby apple 50

dinner veggies 50, small amount brown rice and black beans from ricky 200, crackers horseradish flavor so cool 200...450, kombucha 50

1750, good end to the week I'm glad !

__________________________________________

going out to lunch for college helper's last day here (he was off during January from college so he came and worked with us like he did this past summer...and he actually was assigned to ME! surprisingly, i have enough work to give him the whole time he was here!! and the work was very simple, but, it was nice to be the one to explain to him how to do it and for him to do it RIGHT. :) He was a good worker and did the work well, not with any crazy mistakes or anything, so it worked out very well.

snack: tbd

dinner: maybe tofu/brussel sprouts....and cranberries/whipped cream (couldn't find sugar free whipped cream since we are off season with it...but i got the light one, def not as good as the sugar free...it's even more airy and not as rich tasting - it has half the fat of regular).

I do plan to sleep in tomorrow as long as i want to, no therapist this weekend and starting next week i'll be coming DURING THE WEEK which will be....interesting to say the least....and a little tiring....but i feel it's better for me than such a cut into the weekend every week and sleeping over parents every weekend bc it felt like i was wasting my time and being even lazier at my folks.

I might do some baking with my coworker Linda this weekend on Sunday, but not sure. We'd be doing both the black bean brownies and the snickerdoodles, both sugar free.

Progress as of today: 0 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 01/24/2020:
If I laid in bed listening to the radio I'm afraid I would fall back to sleep...LOL

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/24/2020:
yeah, seems i am sorta doing just that...but not a deep sleep, it's so wasteful and when i rush and don't take the time to wake up and stay home for a little with exercise i find myself half asleep on the bus and train compared to when i wake up with extra time in the mornings out of bed, if that makes sense.

bearcountrygg on 01/24/2020:
you might be too young to remember Sara Moulton and her cooking show...she lives in Manhattan and I read last night that she admitted to sleeping on the subway...LOL....Standing up no less....
