3 Hrs in Sun 2021
title of job is administrative assistant.
i was asked to get a covid test at a nearby clinic, few blocks from work that i walked to after work, but my insurance was declined, so need to fix this on the phone tomorrow...my insurance card was deactivated when supposedly it wasn't supposed to be...and i was NOT going to pay $360 for a covid test on my own dime! that's outrageous.. so i waited for about 20min on the line outside, before being told i couldn't get the test unless I paid that...UGH!..no biggie, but i just got home later than expected lol and didn't even take a covid test...and prob will not be taking one for at least a week or however long it takes to reactivate my insurance card. but bc i left the city late, the traffic was bearable...we'll see what it's like tomorrow driving home.
my hours will be 7:30am-4pm. i will leave tomorrow around 6:15 to see how long it takes to get there...again...i tried to park in a parking garage that was close but where i could walk a few blocks as exercise to work, like 5 blocks, and that was a good idea, for exercise purposes...i can just keep doing this if i really want some exercise, for now, along the commute...(i just prefer to do it after work, lol, and not in the morning!!)...but if i'm parking in a garage, it will have to be a longer morning and evening! ha.
the tasks are rather confusing and i will have to organize them by a calendar view if i want them to work out for me correctly...as i figured out with the help of the VP, Bill, later on at 4pm...yeah...slow going in my mental capacity today i guess...tomorrow will be better.
i'm not going to be able to comment a lot this week, it's too much overall, but i love to tally my food, so you'll see seeing that daily..as i've been doing it relatively almost the past 20 years so i'm not stopping for this week.
Small amount kombucha maybe not have this anymore early, some bloating but only had a few sips, I get gas when nervous
cliff bar and coffee 300...ok! Forgot cliff bar so having those Kellogg's cheese/ pb crackers and the coffee 250
snacks if necessary granola bar 100
lunch is two slices wheat bread untoastrd with two slices cheese - not for taste - for convenience. This day is unknown and it's not glamorous. 250 coffee with 4 packets real sugar bc I'm cold bc wearing a collar shirt no fleece over it for first day and I'm a little tired so coffeee...ran outta all my snacks since I forgot breakfast lol 100
4:30 picked up swedish fish from gas station by work (one of the few gas stations around NYC, yes! - there aren't many all around just happens to be by work) 210, followed a bit later on, 5:30, by chocolate larger amount 200 400.
Dinner at 7:30 after coming home and taking a shower, not my hair since there's no way i'm washing it everyday as it'll dry out i think) bowl of ratatoille, 200, followed by a 1/4 of the pie of sweet potato pie 400...600.
1700 cal.. dead tired....but have to go over some things or i'll be behind come tomorrow.
exercise needs to be skipped as i'm tired and need to get up everyday this week early...
and i need to review some paperwork about my tasks which are unclear to me as of now...but should be better tomorrow, i KNOW.
Half hour early to parking garage - debating parking and walking? But don't want to be starving at work and I forgot my pumpkin pie slice but I have a nice cliff bar instead ...I even forgot a small bottle hand sanitizer so I'm taking the medium size one from my car...
Don't want to get lost walking, don't want to be caught circling the workplace either ....so just chilling in my car...

Sunday, Jan 3:
A few small things are bothering me today...not specifically related to anything of importance. but they simply involve a TOTAL difference of communications and needs between myself of parents as well as a friend on two distinctly different topis.
what i'm saying is i'm "annoyed" (not angry) about two different things involving two separate people. i'd rather not talk about ANY of it, especially thing with a friend.
basically, i like things BLACK AND WHITE, clear communication, logically stated. and when people start to vear from that approch with me, i do not RESPECT it because i WONDER why they didn't take a straighforward, more honest approach in the first place a i can read right thru it.
for this reason, i am just keeping to myself right now and staying off the phone...but i appreciate a call with French friend.
My parents won't stop telling me that i shouldn't take public transportation when that is how i want to go. I don't want to drive...i wanted the easy way. not worrying about paying for a parking garage. i just wanted to take the darn bus and train and my parents have been arguing with me all day to drive. i'm so annoyed about everything.
breakfast: 1/4 of the sweet potato pie, i'm craving a runny egg- so that's my lunch plan - 400, coffee 50. 450.
some kombucha 50
3pm late lunch: wrap 150, fried egg 100, two slices mozzerella full fat cheese 150, 2 pieces warmed black garlic, 400...aso want some chips (too many) 400, strawberries so fresh 50.
6:45 while cooking dinner: 1/8 slice sp pie..200
7pm picking, starting on dinner - homemade turkey meatballs 150...veggies are still cooking, hoping to have some of the ratatoille (but not too much, i don't need to feel bloated or uncomfortable tomorrow!) healthy ratatoille 7 some veggie broth...didn't really have many veggies these past few days other than pie, so, i'm nice and full. 150..tasty so healthy, good change from fast food and cheese doodles.

2.25 Hrs in Sun 2021...i'd like to add onto these hours in the future with walking as part of my commute...hopefully soon...i used to love adding walking into my commute when i last worked in the city (instead of taking the bus all the way home, get off early or get on late...and walk some of the commute).
Monday, 1/4/21: 8am start
No real details other than that. will find out tomorrow, won't be talking about this. Parents are PUSHING me to drive, i just want to take the train...UGH!...really, really annoyed over driving there...may not....

the dad also mentioned it was like a field trip! yup, something to do during their school break for the holidays! they live just down the same block, so it's nice & easy.
you are right Maria, a happy nature trail!
the therapy was good, got me to slow down and with a group...
I looked up the price of what she usually charges...$40 for a group therapy walk...that's a NO WAY for me. sooo expensive. this walk was $15.

It was a good time and a free (nothing else planned i mean!) fun day with no obligations of doing anything else. i'm glad he invited me to go. I was a little nervous with him bc he's brilliant in the maths/ sciences/ environmental stuff...but it was a good change of pace. he has a child that is 3...another reason i have no further interests. but a nice man and i'm glad he asked me to go. he also bought me lunch ;)....moving onwards though! no romance intended in the future at all. I will see him again though, at this event (it's his non-profit organization), but shouldn't be awkard at all :)
Monday, January 11th: Paralegal Course Info: Next Advanced Online Paralegal Course: Bankruptcy Law; Runs thru Friday, February 26th (7 short Weeks)
Resolutions / Goals 2021: volunteer on weekends at a law firm / pro bono...to get that experience. This will happen. Will look into possibilities after the Winter of 2021...will be difficult to fit in as I am working, but, I'm not doing this until later in 2021, or, even 2022 because of COVID.
after all, i need to also finish 5 more classes (short ones, 7 weeks each i think for either all or most of them) in 2021...so that's a goal too, i guess, for 2021, to finish the Advanced Paralegal Certification (it's a brief intro to 6 subtypces of paralegal work (estates, family law, arbitration, etc.). The next class I take is stated above. I
I'm guessing you'll get more information about the job next week. Not much to be done until you have concrete info.
Today is kind of a cleaning day for me too. It's a good way to bring in the New Year :-)
may just keep the tally here, easy. so that starts today. someone had a 1,000 hr challenge, but that may be too much for me...i'll see where i'm at this year to start!
9am mini cheesecake 250, coffee 50, low sugar super soft sour gummies 100. 400...
10:30 deciding on a weird indulgence, spicy cheetos (too much for me, but surprisingly addictive) 200, grapes 100. didn't like the chips, i think i'll throw the rest out...too artifical for me, i'm not a fan of those very strong snack chip flavors especially with cheese...but good for the guy who got rich creating them! (a mexican immigrant who worked as janitor for fritolay!)..he did good!
11:45am pb 100 , very snacky day, don't want to eat a big lunch or meal now...still didn't do weights...starting SOON! LOL. but i did shower before workout out since i felt GROSS.
1pm starting workout after a nap....for real...i'm really relaxing....and wonderfing what's going on when the 4th comes...thinking it's gonna be delayed...work on the 4th i mean...i don't know the address or time...so, unless i learn that, it's gonna be delayed.
2pm-2:30 mini cornbread still at semi beginning of workout 50, lower sugar peach gummies (found a bunch at specialty food store that's why i have been indulging..sorta went on a small binge-shopping yesterday after seeing cousin...)
3pm-3:30...bad eating, hungry all day. pb 100...still working out, half done..part of a garlic knot (mediium size) to finish later...300? just trying to keep calories moderate so i can eat at least one decent meal later, with actual nutrition.
5:30pm apple 100
7:30 spicy cheetos flavor is totally growing on me! 350 cals lol, few brussel sprouts, negl.,
cruddy eating day, trying to stay up i think but just want to go to sleep and stop eating really tonight!
10:40 gummies, with sugar lol 150....will prob go to bed shortly.
1950..
I also did some cleaning during workout, cleaned the brita filter finally. needed to do that. usually, i guess i prob replace the filter around 3 times a year. good i did it, was a little grungy / black smudge on a small area of the brita canister, nothing much, but good to 100% clean!
I still haven't heard from the Super on the details of a job i'm supposed to start on Monday? so i'm actually thinking there may be a delay of start date...we are def last minute now...Yes, i did message him to call me as a reminder, but, nothing. I'm not worrying, just saying.
Thursday, Dec. 31st:
upper body weights & lower body also THURSDAY morning.
cook mashed potatoes.
possibly think of other things to cook at home? - but i do have a lot of things here, just no meat...maybe defrost and cook something?
maybe do some of that sweeping of floors tonight ;)...lol it does sound like Cinderalla, Jacky! haha
Days ahead:
- sweep/dust wood floors / clean bathroom / let water out of toilet tank and wipe it down, add water back...
Laundry...
FRIDAY, Jan 1st:
need a new bottle of rubbing alcohol, like to have this at home, good for wiping down phone, my pimpling slicing metal devices, LOL, and anything else i need it for!...even for wiping down sink sometimes quickly. tends to last me awhile, the rubbing alcohol. will see how much it is on amazon, or just pick it up locally, Friday. we'll see..

yeah, i was sort of surprised to. then again, i think it's usually not as cold here as it is by you?
and i also think we're going to get rather warm weather that day, like 50F...we'll see..
Happy New Year!
i've replaced the flusher, a maintenance guy gave me a new one like a year ago, with NO help...toilet still continues to run here and there and waste water.
i don't really mind, since it's not getting worse, but i think i should clean the bowl so the seal closes better...
if you don't have this problem, you prob don't need to clean it. :)
i'm just trying to do everything i can to fix this...if it doesn't work,i'm gonna let it be.
i don't pay for water, all one price overall for maintenance, so it's not a big deal if i can't fix it, but it's annoying hearing the water slightly moving about when i'm not flushing.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Are you going to learn sign language? I thought about doing that when it was on offer at a community colleges years ago, but never did.
no, i am not really interested in learning it, although, i should learn the alphabet...would make him happy...haven't worked on it yet though. i do have it saved in my email, the alphabet, and i was starting to learn it when work was slow (a few years ago)...but forgot it all.
Thinking of you doing weights this morning has me thinking of skiing weights as well. I need to start up again with weights.
I seem to be a day behind in commenting, so... if you write today, I'll comment on today's entry.
yeah, i have totally skipped a day this week of weights, i was already losing strength from skipping about a week last week, but we'll get back to it, no problem!
8:30 breakfast: small cheesecke 250 (prob a little under that with all the waste/leftover during the baking process that doesn't actually get into the cupcake mold!), leftover cooked cranberries 50(finished that batch, will make another soon), kombucha 50. some peaches from a peach cup but not the liquid 50. 400 total.
11am already back home early after volunteering, no traffic either so took only just under 15 min to get home!..50 in coffee, 150 in vanilla wafer cookies 200 total.
1:30 lunch: split pea soup 100 leftovers, turkey white meat leftovers 150, chips 50, wine 100..400
3:30-5:00pm HEAVIER snacking..wish i had some kind of caffinated soda, roasted brussel sprouts 150, few gummies n/a, more brussel sprouts 150, grapes 100, gummies 50 sugar type finishing a package, 1 larger chocolate 50
6pm snack 4 vanilla wafers 150
7:15pm dinner: package top ramen, soy flavor, pretty good. had most of the liquid, some of the noodles. 250....and that's the great thing about Ramen, you can add tons of liquid, fill up, while eating some of the noodles.
1900...
Today:
fill out housing papers that they want back (just on if windows are fallproof / childproof - most are in the building even if no kids); drop off maintenance (rent) check - but i don't rent, it's a co-op - so it's really called maintenance...and walk these papers over to housing, 5 min walk...but i don't think i'm going to stay outside (it's rather windy and cold and i'd rather use my indoor bike) since i've been walking lots the past couple days i do not feel inspired for any other walks outdoors today...
cook brussel sprouts...definite to roast...in progress, DONE :)
cook mashed potatoes...need to check i have the correct ingredients...!..maybe tomorrow? or later today :) Wednesday or Thursday.
maybe upper body weights?...??? WEDNESDAY morning :)

2021 Plans:
Paralegal Course Info: Next Advanced Online Paralegal Course: Bankruptcy Law; Monday, January 11th - Friday, February 26th (7 Weeks)

1/4/21 working tbd
Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 1 lbs to go!
now, it's hispanic/spanish and also Asian! lol...and it did have lots of corona cases because people aren't wealthy there, lots of immigrants, lots of people living under the same roof...perfect conditions for Coronavirus rates to skyrocket. so it was pretty bad in Corona....15 min ride by car from me, without traffic.
for folks that live in Corona, it's closer to NYC than me, a faster commute also. Probably takes 15min less by train to reach the city, if you live there, which is a plus to living there. but it's a much more crowded area than by me, in Fresh Meadows...and like i said it's mostly Hispanic or Asian.
I wanted to look up the population and here it is: According to the 2010 Census, the total population of Corona was about 110,000...so it's a very, very dense place! one again, there's more apartments, less homes, less space. glad i do not live there!

when i got off the elevator i was like, "wow, they smelled up the hallway!"
yes, i think there might be a little, small gap between the door and the hallway. the smells def fill the hallway if someone cooks, but not in a bad way. i mostly don't mind at all.
and like i was saying, most normal talking voices don't spread too much at all, but yelling will very easily.

Used to boil the B spouts Roasting sounds better!
i think i'll write more tomorrow about the date, as i am not working yet (most prob next week after the New Year) so i'll have the time to write a little about it when i'm up in the morning :)

Good luck today! I figure that with the last minute information given to you about starting, any expectations for today would be rather low.
Just gotta get through it. You'll be glad when this first day is over.
Correct on all accounts. The guy I am assisting, Bill, found out 2 hrs ago that I’m his new assistant and his previous will be transferred. No parking lot here, so, I may switch to public transportation bc it cost around 13 for it daily at a nearby garage. They don’t have any computer or anything set up and I’ll assist this woman Leanne for now until she’s transferred to the office that has parking, more uptown, closer to where she lives so should be better for her...
grannyannie on 01/04/2021:
Best of luck today. Take a deep breath. (through your mask!).
Thanks Annie...seems they are very relaxed on masks - very few people working in this particular office. I’ll wear mine...not for eating though !
Jacky82020 on 01/04/2021:
HOP, you have a job or are you referring to a new volunteer position?
Saw something funny on New Amsterdam, a medical drama. The lead doctor decided to make insulin at the hospital in protest to high prices. The hospital director came down yelling at him and said: this isn’t like brewing kombucha.
It’s a good medical drama, but I don’t see why they say it’s based on Twelve Patients, a book written by a doctor who worked decades at Bellevue. I read the book & see no commonalities other than good physicians working at big hospitals. The book actually got boring as the cases described were rather ordinary.
it's a job...very good one as an administrative assistant but i'm still very confused on the tasks...i hope tomorrow goes better, it should.
haha, that's very funny relating the insulin making to kombucha brewing hehe...i miss you...it willl be difficult to stay in touch with everyone this week.
legcramps on 01/04/2021:
Enjoy your day today!
You too, legs!

Good luck, hope it works out and most of all I hope you enjoy it!
Thank you so much, InnerP!

You’ll figure it all out quickly, HOP! New jobs are always confusing initially.
Heard some of those covid tests can run hundreds & hundreds of dollars. Good you’re waiting. Lots of ppl getting screwed.
