Sometimes you just have to let these food things ride out. Otherwise, restriction backfires and that brings problems thatare harder to work out.

(i might cook cauliflower fried rice as i just bought the cauliflower rice and a bag of frozen peas and carrots yesterday on my way home :) and i believe i have everything else i need like soy sauce...i once made it but just the cauliflower and it didn't turn out great so this time i want to make it right!) if i don't cook it today, it will happen sooner or later!

and then off to the event tonight for my dad...i may drive to my parents so i can go with them to the event, but we'll see. it's extra driving - maybe it could be good to show up with them, i haven't made up my mind just yet.

glad i'm home bc my hormones are whacky and i've been using the bathroom all morning / afternoon.

yeah....same here with the cauliflower rice...i should just freeze the cauliflower in my freezer as it's already in rice form and would hate for it to spoil!!! yes, that's probably what i should do! as i don't think i'll be doing it tomorrow and now heading to bed...extremely active weekend!

Lunch: veggies 50, egg/white 100, 1/2 avocado on matzah cracker 250 with salt/pepper, apple? 100 500.

snacks: clementines 30 and choc covered pomegranates 100 (tired day...and i think hormones are starting to call my name - things starting to move i think in my abs due to period coming oh yay lol)

Before gym: not sure, just tired and can't wait to get gym outta the way and sleep in tomorrow. sandwiches before and after gym, 350 each. so 700. too much caffeine but it thankfully wore off as the workout progressed. the start was bad bc i had to keep resting as the caffeine was too much. this is basically why i stopped the energy drinks mostly...but tonight i had bc i knew i had off tomorrow and i had an extra late night workout till 9:30pm.

2000 total. 

good night everyone. hoping to sleep quite a bit tomorrow.

SUNDAY ADVENTURE:

THIS WILL BE SUNDAY morning instead of tomorrow bc i'm really tired and will enjoy SLEEPING in tomorrow and not getting up till i feel like it! I'm taking off tomorrow but it's supposed to rain and i signed up for a tour of central park for two hours walking.

i may cancel that and reschedule and just sleep in as lately i'm struggling to get up and also sleeping less...so sleeping in would be very nice! But i'll try to keep it scheduled for tomorrow morning, the tour.  My phone says thunderstorms whch may not be all day - i think it's important to be active so i'll keep checking my phone ot see hourly forecast for friday morning. To be at the tour at 10, i have to leave my place around 8am so it's still a sorta early wakeup..i can always come home and take  a nap before the event, maybe! like i said, i most probably will do the healthy walking tour, as long as the rain doesn't look too bad.

Later on, I have an event around 45 min away Friday night that i DO have to dress up for - a dinner dance. My dad is being honored, the reason i am attending. That's the major reason for me taking Friday off as I was NOT keen on working a full day 8-4:30, going home and getting there around 6pm, quickly prepping, and heading out to a party that starts at 7:30. It's funny how i'm fine to do it with the gym...but...that doesn't involve me looking my "best."

thanks, yes, i'll be checking the weather up until tonight when i might cancel and still take the day off but get a head start on laundry, some cooking, and still jog / do cardio - at gym or at a park by me if the weather is decent enough...

later before class a granola bar 200 with water..very late to class i should miss half, i'm not really even upset at myself with it. i just don't care right now bc it's not that important to me - i'll say i had to stay at work & that i'll try to do better the remaining sessions. it's a free course and you just need to show up...usually i care more, right now, i'm just trying to get it done any way possible. i know, not the best example i'm setting.

i just couldn't get out of my apartment any earlier, wanted to use the bathroom and didn't care about leaving earlier if i couldn't do that. there was traffic heading home yesterday and i got to the the gym pretty late and i was home late around 9pm...so being off Friday to do anything but work is a great thing...i am going to Central Park on a 2hr Secrets of the Park walking tour that i got half price...

...lately, i find it important to fit movement in when possible more than my regular. really trying here and just wanted to get that course out of the way...so that if i'm chosen for jury duty and i'm actually chosen to go a few days, i can be paid at 80% of my salary instead of the typical $40 a day....that's what this course gives me entitlement towards. It's 5 weeks, Wednesdays 5-7pm. Tonight i hope to get there by 5:45. TEACHER WAS FABULOUS, FUNNY, KEEPS THE MOMENTUM...HAPPY. I SHOULD GET THERE ON TIME FOR THE 4 REMAINING CLASSES JUST BECAUSE I OWE IT TO THE TEACHER AND OTHER STUDENTS IN THE CLASS. HE MADE ME LAUGH AND I REALLY LOVE THE CONTENT. IT'S A GREAT CLASS.

Lighter dinner: 350, 260 it was a few sf jello 50, a wrap with chicken deli meat, some extra salt and pepper and garlic, and mashed avocado spread 300, followed by whipped cream with light ice cream. tasty. glad at least i'm eating avocado lately which is one of the best things i consume.

YES...it's also very easy to bring to work - i bring them whole in their shells and crack them open at work while having lunch!

i used to buy just whites in the containers of liquid eggs to make omelettes at home on weekends, but now i also just separate out the yokes before cooking the omelette. way better price.

i don't throw out all yokes bc some yoke is more satisfying than skipping it completely (keeps me fuller longer to have some yolk/1 yolk)

Late by over 20 min to work bc a friend told me about train delays and i ended up "delaying myself" getting out of bed lol. the train delays pretty much cleared up by my usual time and i could have gotten here on time had he not told me about the delays lol....but this is all my fault being late today! for sure! i'll have to stay late but no worries, i took a vacation day Friday since i have an event to go to that evening and it's a drive so i decided i would make it so that i can sleep in Friday :) ....moving on !!

yes, a nice lighter lunch should make for a good day.... :) need to get back on track, so frustrating that i keep having a day of higher cals so the rest of the week doesn't make a dent in weight loss, just to level back...i know you would be familiar with this...it takes so many good days to offset a poor day

Time for a movie soon...i'll check later which one i borrowed from the library - oh, i rented a whole series of tv shows called Mike and Molly - so funny...happy to sit home, watch TV for late morning and early afternoon after a very eventful weekend i'm looking for a relaxed day here.

I event went for a complete food shopping trip on the way home yesterday after i dropped off my friend bc the supermarkets are HUGE on long island with everything i could need, so i bought extras of things so i will not have to buy eggs any time in the near future, or almond milk, they even had my kombucha in the supermarket....so i bought lots of things that last in the fridge as well as sale items like tuna so that i can avoid some shopping in the next couple months for those items! :)

happy, getting laundry out of the way now done by noon and then watching a movie before heading out for a little bit for some cardio :) i haven't decided where to do the cardio but thinking to drive to my old favorite park which will def be open today. i was thinking to go to a nearby local track at a college but they sometimes close gates to the entryways on holidays like this one.

Today is in an interesting day :)

Plans are to clean my hamster cage before driving out east. trying to at least get something done so everything isn't left for tomorrow!

Picking up a few $1 lotto tickets to put in the bday card. just giving a card to be thoughtful, don't have extra money to spend as it costs money to drive out east and perhaps we are paying for her brunch. i don't think everyone will even give a card.

I DO look forward to seeing friends some i haven't seen since late fall! I look forward to hopefully taking some nice photos with everyone and to chatting. I don't look as forward to the long drive lol, 2hrs each way.

Laundry tomorrow.

Driving out 2 hours for a brunch at noon so leaving around 10am and picking up a friend along the way, driving east to almost the end of Long Island but not totally the end to a town called Calverton for a tasty brunch (inside since it's raining) on the water. It's for a friend's 33rd bday.  I am not happy about such a long drive, but it's not my bday!  Also, i tried to see if anyone wanted to do anything more active after - go to an acquarium, go to outlets, visit the military cemetary (yes, i'd do it if it was my bday, but nobody seems happy about that idea and it's raining anyway so no good), or even go to the HUGE outlet mall. Bday girl didn't want to decide. I wasn't as eager to go to a winery (there's tons) after eating just do to calories and more sitting...but...if they go, my friend who's driving with me and I would go for ONE drink....but then i'm scooting out. Enough sitting and eating when there's more to do out east! 

Also, a couple who is married who tends to stay with their parents who live out east are the ones who suggested the brunch bc they enjoy brunches out east in general. They also will only have at most a 30min maybe even far less of a drive than that. So, the bday girl thought their idea was good but i think it's truly only accomodating to them and that it was wrong to suggest a place so far for everyone on a holiday weekend when there can be TONS of traffic.  Luckily, we're blessed with colder weather and rain which means less traffic out east to the beaches at least.

So this couple, i have a feeling they'll invite people over there house after the brunch and i have spoken to the woman driving out with me about that. we both decided that we aren't interested ot drive SO FAR to have a brunch followed by just going back to someone's house. We'd rather do an activity - the outlets - than just sit around with the same people we were just sitting with ... and then do a sitting 2hr drive home. if poeple go to a winery, we decided we'd go, but then scooting out would be better than sitting in a house for a couple hours, just to sit for a drive 2hrs back. I thought it was actually very unaccomodating for them to suggest brunch out east so far, but despiete what i think, many people are supposely coming to her party...

I have realized part of my issue was that i'm sitting all week and it's hard for me to want to do activities when i'm not working that include so much sitting and little activity. So really it's my preference which doesn't match that of the rest of the group, but, the good thing is that i'm going to the brunch and winery if they go...and that's more than enough commitment out east! :)

i was really antsy all week about the brunch but luckily the day before (Saturday) i was really active so when Sunday came around i had used lots of my pent up energy about sitting and became so much more with the flow :)

i also desparately tried to watch my food intake at the brunch which i did pretty well and all in moderation bc lately all Spring i've gone to quite a few brunches and constantly regret overeating for the rest of the week trying to balance it. Yesterday, i can say at least i tried hard and learned from past mistakes. The plates were huge and i actually only took one plate and most of it was vegetables thnakfully the selection was VERY good. nice to do something different...and winery was ok still...no outlets...and i was even able to go food shopping yesterday which has led to a very relaxing day today which i am happy about!

I love getting out of town (except work trips) and mixing up the daily routine. But controlling my calories usually goes out the window after mid-day of being on "vacation".

the closer and closer you are to a weight that you want to maintain, the more and more a person tries to figure out ways to watch calories without feeling too deprived. so even though my calories were higher than typical days, they are not totally out of a range that will cause weight gain right away as long as it can be balanced out a little bit..but nothing major.

for me when i eat totally crazy amounts of calories, it becomes stressful knowing that i am causing weight gain and that it'll be difficult to balance out...so i really try to always keep cals near my typical amounts when away, but if i stray a little, it's still not so terrible as if i just went to town on everything fried, a thousand desserts, etc :) i try to always stick to my typical ways of eating and luckily the buffet had a huge dish of sauteed veggies so i was saved..

Visited a fishing hatchery where we caught some trout and my friend took them home to clean and prepare later in weekend, then had a tasty lunch, then drove to garders to walk around, then couple errands before home to rest a little bit before heading back out to gym tonight so i can say i did 3 sessions this week :) wahoo. it's been a WONDERFUL weekend.

Yes...it reminds me why a day relaxing at the beach leaves a person coming home exhausted...lol...all that sweating! Today i was sweating a bit and yeah i agree it can be tiring.

Tonight is gym but i plan to be there a lot earlier bc we will prob get out of work at 1 or 2pm.  I'll quickly pick up some fruit, veggies, and a movie from library on way home... Weight 115.5 this AM (back up high). but feeling good despite....not really worried as i know it will take a long time to see changes and i'm still just increasing my cardio :)

Living in a landlocked state, getting to an ocean beach is a rare treat that only happens once every few years. After the cruise we're also spending a couple days on the coast and we're looking forward to spending some time on the beach hunting for seashells.

good good - the ocean and beach is such a happy place, mood enhancer.

and with it around one hour away from me, i try to make use of going there a bit in the summer bc it's like having a staycation...at this point i would NEVER travel on vacation in the summer like by airplane when i know i have a beach right here...i would however drive to a new local beach and stay over a night or two if it were sorta far from me, but otherwise, i try to make use of our home beaches in the summer!

Michigan is a Land of Lakes...all over the place....my parents had a nice log cottage on a large lake so we spent a lot of time there...plus they had beach priveleges at their house...so I swam daily as a kid......the house we sold 7 years ago had a pool....and that was handy...but a LOT OF WORK!!!! Now....we have no desire to swim.

Photo is me, around 7pm, at the nearby college track!I was so happy with the sun shining so bright, it was warm....felt amazing.

Late Evening Edit: WALKING & JOGGING was simply AMAZING! oh, and a great bike ride. Weather tonight was PERFECT. there was some traffic and bus takes like double the time to get home but it doesn't matter....i stuck to my goals (although ate a bit too much after, but then stopped before it got too bad!!) This workout is 10 min to track, 10min back, and 1 mile on track. it's a good workout and i'm not totally drained after. this is good for a weeknight for me right now..

kombucha 60

Oatmeal with oats 150, protein powder 100, oil 50, chia seeds 50, almond milk 20, stevia. 370. coffee 50. 420.

Snacks: almonds 200, piece of clementine :)

Lunch: celery sticks 50, egg 100 and avocado 160 with spices on wrap 130 and broiled (yeah, should have lowered the heat - next time i'll roast them) carrots 150: 600 :) also decided on pretzels 100...craving salt just like you were BCGG! 

home: granola bar before bike / jog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 150 tops maybe some caffeine at home i have leftover enery drink again...lol...i stopped most of them but sometimes reach for one.yup 100 cals only

Dinner: tbd, thinking ice cream 300 and there was a takeout Indian place that i bought food from and simply couldn't resist not trying it - turned out to be very TASTY i will be going back. it's great to buy food on the way home or even to buy at lunch and eat throughout the week - decent priced, in Manhattan by work/train. so i had an oily veggie dish but not too oily, but still: 200? a little bit, and then some saag..and it has cream, so, yeah...but not too much...150???? i hope not much more! i just couldn't resist and hadn't had Indian in awhile lol besides the darn brunch a month back where it was a total eat fest...lol.moving on! Entire bigger dinner was 650 (lots of fiber though and health in the veggie part).

6day: 2040...still decent and tomorrow my goal is to keep it real good too...we get out early, so it should be easier as i'm doing some errands and hitting the gym a hair earlier and bed earlier...hopefully weather stays nice for Saturday and it'll be a busy weekend to look forward to!

I've gotten into celery lately too.....usually it spoils in the fridge and I throw it out...lately...it's getting used up.

what i do to use it - cut it all up at once (lol, before it spoils as i have had the same instances where it sits so long it's spoiled before i cut it up!) and once it's all cut up, then i want it...then it's easy grabbing :) to add to meals as a side or eat as a snack!

Weather was simply AMAZING! it was a great experience to finally go after work and planning to keep this habit up all of june 1x per week after work :) so happy i got it done, even with some delays i made it! I'm working on my endurance to run a full mile again soon.

Very nice to see that you stuck to your plan/goal and got your run in today :-) Sounds like a lovely day -- it's getting too humid here in Chicago, so it feels MUCH warmer than it is. A little too warm, if I can say that...

The Indian food sounds AMAZING...

so so so glad i finally jogged/walked and by keeping it to only a mile, it makes it more doable and also i'm not getting home as late as i do on days i go to the gym...so it'll be an easier habit to make and keep!

I was so worried the Indian food wouldn't be very good bc it was just like a take-out place...but it had the flavors i love and it satisfied my craving :)

so nice to be able to get it from two locations now that i know of :) close to work and subway that i use to come in and go home!

I know what you mean about the sun feeling so good at times. After a long winter, we went to the local lake with the family (couple weeks ago). It felt so good to sit there soaking up the sun, just feeling warm all over. Got a little red that lasted for a few days, but still felt great.
