today i'm trying acupuncture, it was a bargain of a deal! i got a 75% off coupon for two sessions of it plus two sessions massage also! so today is acupuncture, for an entire hour and a half. i'll let you guys know how it goes!


weight approx 126 today...pretty good, cannot complain about that!

Last 9 days calorie average helped to maintain weight, let me calculate the average to see: 2194 calories! almost 2200 was maintenance which is pretty darned awesome for someone who has a desk job for so many hours each day!  This is why I can lose weight - WEIGHTLIFTING! it's helped so in burning extra calories. 

You should all try it - even a little weight lifting of light weights goes a LONG WAY. even i, and i've been lifting weights for about 3 years straight and intermitently for a few years on and off before that, lift pretty light weights. I do not lift weights that are heavy compared to what guys lift. for example, i lift dumbells that range, depending on the gym, either 7.5 or 10 lbs per arm. I do all free weights with weights of that size. For machines, it depends, but the weight ranges between 30-55 lbs depending on the type of arm exercise. :-D lf course, a beginner would even choose lower weights, usually, and there's nothing wrong with that! it'll definitely help you lose weight. even just a few dumbell curls each day, to start. just do 3 sets of 15 reps with a 2-5 lbs dumbell for each arm bicep!

edit: 2350 or so calories. 1.5 hour walk approx. :-) good day overall!

breakfast: oatmeal w. cottage cheese mixed in! really good, maple brown sugar flavor and extra cinnamon: , yogurt with chocolate stevia and cinnamon, 400. :-)

I love doing free weights! I do them every other day. You've got a good maintenance calorie count. Mine won't be that big.

Yeah, love weights. I need to make more time for them. What are you getting the accupuncture for? I am really interested to know how it goes and if you see results - how many times they say you need to do it for your goal and what how often.

Good Morning! it's in the 30's outside, but i'm not blowdrying my hair this AM....lol, gonna get some extra relaxation time here at the computer and enjoy breakfast instead!  Hair will be up.

BREAKFAST: pineapple cottage cheese 150 and oatmeal 160: 310.

snack: protein bar: 290

lunch: rice 200, tomato 40, tofu 100, apple 100: 440 approx. 400

snack: grapefruit big 120, red pepper 50,apple 250 approx.

more snack: kombucha 60., coffee 40

after gym: drink 110, humongous protein bar 390: 500

total;. 1850 = perfect amount.

exercise: not much cardio, 10 min. over an hour of weights, back, pushups, abs.


No change in weight this week, maybe even a pound up, no biggie. Can't just be a steady line down, life has ups and downs - and so does weight. I will remain patient. It will come off.  Weight this AM 126.5. But, good news, is that pants that didn't fit since i bought them - waiting for the opportunity to wear after losing weight - i'm finally wearing!!!!! usually, you know, the clothes will just sit in the back of your closet bc you never lose the weight to wear them - but this time i'm actually losing weight and wearing the clothes.

Breakfast: pineapple cottage cheese 150 mixed into my maple brown sugar oatmeal 160: 310 glorious calories :-D

snack: protein bar 260 and some sugar free sucking candies, too.

lunch: turkey sandwich on whole grain bread 320, chips 80, maybe a fruit or something or salad. 400.

snack: fruits/veggies: lots of 'em! and chips. 400.

dinner: i'm thinking some kind of salad...with grilled chicken - i've been salivating for it!

after work: quick hair trim, walk (walk after dinner i'm thinking!)

turns out i canceled the hair appt bc i tried hard to make it look good today without an extra cut and it does look good. i wasn't happy with the way my hair was growing out, but it's not even been two months since i got it cut, so i am gonna wait. :-)

i ended up drinking lots of things, and coffee, going to the gym far from me because it has the best cardio machines. was a good evening for exercise. 45 min cardio.

protein bar after, cookie dough flavor and JUST like cookie dough! was cool. 370 cal.

total cal around 1800 today. nice!

Huh, who would've thought cottage cheese and oatmeal would be good together? A friend of mine added spinach to her frozen yogurt and berries one day - wanted to get extra greens - and said it was really good! The spinach took on the other flavors in the dish.

I <3 grilled chicken in a tossed salad. I think it's my favorite meal and I never get enough of it!

woke up really, really tired, but tonight i will be getting out of work on time...so i should be feeling good by Friday.

Breakfast: oatmeal 160, with 2 servings cottage chese (one with pineapple)260: 420 :-)

snack: protein bar: 280 almonds: around 250

lunch: tofu, rice, tomato, some chinese vegetable soup that i ordered bc coworker was ordering - the rest i made at home., almonds 150: 550

snack: protein bar, apple, red pepper: 400

after the gym: protein peanut butter chocolate chips cookies, a drink. 400

2050 total calories. approximately.

15 min cardio, ankle is hurting even from that. weights for over an hour with pushups/back/abs.


i'm looking foward to tomorrow's lunch for some reason: chips and turkey sandwich. i'm not in the mood for anything else - i think i'm veggied out for a lil bit.

Gonna try my darndest to sleep well this week as i will be getting out of work on time probably all the way though Thanksgiving - or at least till this weekend. that's a few nights of good rest that was unplanned....i will sleep well, for my own sake and sanity, finally. and probably with good sleep it will be easier to lose the weight.....it's gonna be hard, these next five pounds....i've been holding on to them for awhile...i wanna check back at the last time i was 125, let me look.....

.August, 2008.  That means, 3 years & 3 months ago. Feels like longer :-) but i'm glad it's not!  what that really shows is that for most of my adult life after college I did in fact stay thin.  I was thin my whole childhood and then gained weight from 17yrs old through 19 years old. then i went back to being thin from 20 years-26 years old. only from 26-28 did i gain weight and now it's going away for good! :-) of my whole 29 years of existance, i was heavier only for a total of around 6 years. small percentage.


breakfast: cooked cranberries smothered on rice cakes 190,oatmeal 160, cottage cheese w. pineapple 150: 500....bit high in carbs and sugar, but whatever. 500 is still a normal amount for a breakfast.

snack: large yucky protein bar 350, bad one!

lunch: brown rice with chicken :-) 500 and lots of veggies that my boss cooked! 100 more

snack driving home: small banana,a  tomato, grapefruit already broken up so i could eat while driving lol.... 250 or so. (definitely not more than that!)

plan for tonight: haha, i am feeling so lazy: stick clothes in dryer, WALK after work, and maybe cook some veggies for the rest of the week.


dinner: chips yum 300, more chips 150, tofu and a little veggie 150: 600. and kombucha....to take the hunger/cravings off....instead of other food, that is!

total 2260-2300.,...FABULOUS. - good!!!...haha, and kombucha.

feeling very, very bingy tonight - very tired.

exercise: walking but not for long - i'll make up for this tomorrow after work, since i'm getting out a bit earlier. - 4:30pm instead of 5:30 or 6:30.

I don't have a car (which must be something very weird for US citizens, hehe), so I walk more... it's sometimes tiring though, especially when I get out of the gym/pool, etc., I have to give an extra effort to get home/to work, etc. :o) I love the first part of your entry for yesterday! :-) I agree - indulging sometimes is not a bad thing. It will always happen, and it mustn't cause bad feelings because we need to achieve an overall HAPPINESS!

for my info: 4-day calorie average = 2350 (not bad, huh!?) and that's with a 2800 calorie day - this goes to PROVE that indulging sometimes is not a bad thing and will NOT EVER ruin your diet!!!! :-)  I am 29 years old and since I was 20 I have paid VERY close attention to the way people eat, diet, and satisfying themselves with food. I'm no beginner and I love to share my thoughts with all of you! It feels good to be in it - and winning it this time around! YES. now i just need to get more sleep!



****I have received a compliment from one of my bosses today...the one i work directly with everyday. he asked if i was losing weight haha. he didn't say that i looked better or worse or anything, just a question about weight. i wasn't expecting that out of his mouth and i got flustered by the question haha.*** it felt SO GOOD to have someone notice.

my dad noticed the other day, asking if i'd lost some weight.

and i've only lost less than 5 pounds since summer! some people really notice things, or perhaps keeping the weights in my routine is really starting to pay off, huh!?


just wish i could get a better night's sleep. tomorrow's gonna be a tired one. it's 10:45pm and i start work at 7am...i wake up around 5am.........



breakfast: oatmeal & yogurts 350.

snack: protein bar that tasted like shiznit but i was starving. around 300

lunch: brown rice :-) with some tofu and some leftover healthy fish! yes! i brought lunch and loved every bite. also, an asian pear. (taste one, they're more like apples, but delicous!) always very juicy and satisfying. i think it was around 550 for lunch?

snack: a tomato and a huge grapefruit on the way to the gym...and a monster sugar free 200

dinner/late snack after gym: STARVING. banana and the best and most tasty - seriously  -double chocolate protein cookies. they didn't taste at all like a protein bar, but the most delicious cookies ever. seriously. around 400-450.

total today around 1750-1800. blah! and chips. like 130 more. total around 1850-1900. still good.

unfortunately, NO cardio - just no more time left in the day. i worked 7am-6:15pm. an hour to get there and an hour to get home.

exercise: weights and a good amount (i'd rather have a good weight routine and skip cardio than a little cardio - i wouldn't want to do it that way.) weights for at least an hour. also, pushups.

I have a goal to be able to do 70 pushups per set. A coworker at work as challenged me to it! he's actually a boss/engineer/former army vet. cheers to that combo.  oh, i already can do over 50 pushups at one time, so i'm almost there. the challenge is supposed to happen BEFORE Thanksgiving, and even though it's a BIG difference (20 pushups or so more!) I'm gonna MAKE it happen, seriously....I have to do this.

The only way I'm gonna make it through this year is to break the stress and hatred of my job with exercise, weights and muscle building exercise, in particular.  This is the only way I'm gonna stay even half-sane.  I dsilike my job more than anything, but yes, it's a job and i'm so lucky for that. but, everyone needs an out - and exercise, particularly weightlifting, is my out. it's my escape from negativity, from depression, from things that i find unfair. an escape from a life I never thought i would live out this way.  weightlifting and exercise make my world more habitable, more what i would like it to be.

it may sound stupid, but this is how i am gonna make it through the winter...at this job, living this life.

You're doing so well, HOP! :) As you say, you're doing it - no more 3000-6000 kcal binges. It's so easy to reach this amount. I bet I had some 4000-5000 kcal binge yesterday, STOOOOOOOOOOPID backpains and loneliness..... :(

(extra 1,000 calories from FRI/SAT/SUN to burn off this week...) i am trying to "just forget about it!" bc truth is, that's not a lot of calories to worry about at all. so i'm forgetting....


my computer wasn't working this weekend - i needed a new router! so nice to be back and journaling!


So my weightloss has been going well - and this week I am going to try harder so that I continue my NICE DOWNWARD weightloss spiral! If i stop trying, I will not lose weight and will probably gain lol, since I did indulge all weekend - which isn't a bad thing at all! My intentions are to sleep better and eat well this week. If i do, I could even see below 125....and if that happens i'll KNOW i'm doing EVERYTHING right as I can possibly do! If i see 124, that will be the first time in many, many years - since 2007.  FOUR years.

what a wonderful 3-day weekend!

today was perfect weather practically feeling like 60 degrees at times at the park. I even was wearing short sleeves for some of my walk!

exercise: 3 mi walk, 20 minute bike ride! perfect amount.

food: a was slightly too snacky in the AM and i had to limit a little bit what i was eating in the afternoon to make up for it. breakfast was 1100 calories. lol. too much.

after the afternoon snacks: 1300 calories.

dinner: lots of veggies and tofu maybe some of grandma's food lol....she will not be having the same thing as me, i'm visiting her at her assisted living and she will have the dinner they serve - probably healthy chicken and veggies and fruit.  i will also have a kombucha and go to bed EXTRA early tonight for sure! gonna start this week of right!! some fish and chicken also with grandma, some fruit. and then later a small rice krispie bar.

 total today around 2150/2200. great day.

midnight snack: chips, so total around 2300 - still OK!

a lil better, but still kinda high. not mad though or regretful about it. we went out to dinner and i had dessert and didn't even splurge or binge on dessert. i am proud of myself for sticking with it...

2500 calories Saturday is not bad at all.

HUGE improvement from my 3000-6000 calorie binges a few months ago. I am doing very well.

saturday exercise: fantastic, really!  entire weights, back, abs, and pushups routine. 40 minutes cardio and some walking at the mall.

Friday total calories: 2800, but i'm ok with this. definitely had the munchies in the evening, but I did get under control and fell asleep eventually lol. i think i was really exhasuted which caused me to give in.  i was also very cold and couldn't warm up no matter what i put on or how many covers i was using. anyways, i'm glad that night is over!

weight approx. 126 this AM.

breakfast: chips, yogurts, cooked cranberries: total around 550 (I'm thinking it has to be more, but that's what the calories added up to according to the packages.)

friday exercise: somehow, not that much! a litttle jog in th AM for 20 min and a lil walking in the pm for like 10 min or something, if i remember correctly....it was a couple days ago lol.

i worked from 7am-6pm today. i am fully exhausted.

yesterday i worked 7am-6:15pm with an hour commute there and  hour commute home. i'm exhasuted. thank god today is the LAST day of work for the week.

I worked an extra 10 hours of overtime this week. approximately 200 extra dollars, sometimes not even worth it?
