(I do not think I really lost weight though, this week. I had binged 4000 calories, so really I broke even, averaging out those calories to about 2000 with tuesday, wed, and today's calories, so at least that's good.) will work towards real weight loss though! this is exciting. i know i'm gonna do it. 115 lbs by the cruise is my goal! hard but fantastic. i'm gonna feel so good when i reach it.


BIG breakfast, good!: oatmeal w. added flax and extra brown rice milk: 240, bar 230: 470, good.

snack: rest of the bar from breakfast, couple bites, coffee, coffeee, coffee, oh, did i say coffee?! couple candies. 50.

lunch: very healthy, again. seaweed salad, tofu, squash, some salmon! 450. will eat that tomorrow! my boss bought a VERY HEALTHY lunch for myself and another coworker. grilled chicken on salad, some jalepenos too! love those!, and two slices healthy and even on the smaller side whole wheat toast. good lunch! and i had some chicken leftover that i had after working out after work. 500 total.

1000 - at most! :-).......

snack: drink, grapefruit 100

dinner: rest of the salad mentioned above. also, cottage cheese w. extra extra extra cinnamon lol....and chocolate stevia. made my sweetleaf and i really love it.

total cal: approx 1200. freakin perfection to the 'T' calories are actually a bit low, but as of now i'm satisfied.  1450 cal, had a bar right before bed....was hungry!

exercise: 45 min of elliptical, jogging, walking. also some bicep curls for fun and pushups.

 1450, for me, means 800 calories lost today...ok, i may be exaggerating, but i usually calculate 2200 to be my calorie needs. yes, my calorie needs are probably lower, but i feel good to calculate from 2200/2250 as my top number. makes me feel like i have some leeway, you know? so, 2200-1200 for today = 1000 calorie loss today. 1/3 lb lost today! wow. i haven't eaten this low in a long time. i also don't expect this from myself everyday. it cannot be kept up, in my mind, very healthfully all the time, eating so low in cal, that is.


i will try to be in bed on time tonight so that i can fully rest and feel good tomorrow, FRIDAY!

for the weekend i don't have many plans nor want many plans. i want to do yoga and feel good, not be running around/out late at night this weekend, no way. i also want to cook everything i bought before all the veggies spoil. i've had some for about 2 weeks and they are still good, but not for long. i will make some stirfries and other tasty veggie dishes.

chocolate stevia ...i put it in my hot cereals, water, cottage cheese/yogurt....and it can really be put in anything...if you are a baker, you could probably add it to bread/muffins/etc.

boy is it a cold one this AM! It's in the 'teens!

Breakfast: filling. nice warm wheat cereal with lots of fiber and like 7g protein, added flax, made with hemp milk! probably won't buy it again, but so interesting! 230. and protein bar 230. 460.

snack: bar? 230? coffee!

lunch: healthy! around 500..little bit of prepared seaweed salad (seasoned) YUM!, chicken, half a nice veggie wrap, some of a cooked butternut squash.

snack: grapefruit,

total before gym: 1400.

dinner: some of a wrap that was part of lunch but i didn't have it 150, salad (not even gonna count it, no dressing, small salad), kombucha 60, yogurt 100. 310.

total: perfect, come on! 1710, can't get much better. eating to low causes me to binge, this is great!

didn't get as much sleep as i wanted to, an hour less, to under 7 hours...will work on that tonight! except for pushups/biceps, no weights tonight must get to bed early!

exercise: cardio, 45 min of walking/jogging. little bit of dumbell lifts for fun - biceps.

I'm going on a cruise, and i'm losing the weight. that's final! :-D proud of myself. no more nonsense. as long as i have healthy food at work, i can achieve this goal! it's happening!

I will exercise right after work in the gym next door tonight....haven't done that for a couple weeks! :-)  traffic should be bad, so i will try to stay in the neighborhood and drive home late!

Breakfast: big bowl oatmeal and rice milk: 200, all natural protein bar, some water with chocolate stevia, mix of ginger tea/orange spice tea. 400

snack: bar? maybe...yes! 250

lunch: VERY healthy, bought prepared,but all natural foods...400 or so.

snack: drink, grapefruit 100 big one.

dinner: protein bar 200, cottage cheese with my favorites: chocolate stevia liquid sooooo goood! sold on amazon.com and tons of cinnamon, when i say tons, i mean much more than a full teaspoon. and kombucha. 400.

total: a very, very, very successful day because i had it planned with all the right foods! 1550, very prefect. on my way to losing one pound PER WEEK!

500 calories gone today, making good progress. in 6 more days, i can lose a full pound.  I should definitely be able to accomplish my April goal - as long as i have healthy, low cal food around at all times. i will make sure of that! :-)

exercise: 45 min of cardio and some pushups/weights for fun.

8am: Big, filling breakfast: fiber one and brown rice milk: 310, yogurt w. apple butter, 120, healthy protein bar (all natural) 190: 620. a bit much, but tasty and eaten at 8am, not 5am. lol, i plan to go to bed early. should not be hard to eat a good amount of calories today and not overindulge.

snack 11am: bar 190 cal and a healthy drink 40

Snack 1pmcranberries 50

late 2:30pm lunch: pita chips 200, whitefish 200, chicken 300, ice cream 250: 950 (eeesh!) i was really hungry after a walk at the park, 4-5 miles.

snack: cottage cheese 110 with added cinnamon and chocolate stevia flavor, really good!

dinner: veggies, tofu, some microwave snack size eggroll type things

around 2250 cal today, maybe a hair higher. good.

exercise: 4-5 mi in the early afternoon, 1.5 mi in the evening, some weights, great!


MARCH: I will be seeing many past colleagues and friends all month, I will try to get into the 'teens by then....below 120!

APRIL: I want to be at goal, 115 lbs, by the cruise.

This is the plan. I am 5'1" so this is a doable plan, for sure. not too low in weight for someone of my size.  I am going to try, hard, to get there. :-D

Really, I will have to work on eating better still, less caffeine, and, most importantly, getting MUCH MORE SLEEP. with more sleep, everything is easier. for the past few months, because of working overtime, I have not been getting enough sleep any night of the week and it's paying a huge toll on my mental and phyiscal stamina & health. i literally feel like garbage most weekends and even during the week. It's a horrible feeling. This holiday weekend I felt horrible, all weekend.

So, it took me 5 months to lose around 10 lbs. I hope to lose the next 10 lbs in half the time....think I can do it? Think I can make it last? Gonna try!


New Year's Entry, Jan. 1, 2012:

new year's resolution: to lose 10 lbs. and get to 115 lbs....I also just booked a cruise to the Caribbean (with Carnival...should be a party!) in April, so that's motivation to lose weight, no!?  I could actually lose all the weight by then, but that's pushing it. So I'm just gonna continue to try my best, day in, day out. and not binge.

Today is going to be a good day, I will make it so!

8am Breakfast: small bagel with cream cheese and some lightly sweetened green tea: 350 - good.

10:30am Morning Snack: ice cream sandwich 240, healthy protein bar 190, coconut water, 70: 500. good.

12:30pm snack: healthier  protein bar 200

2pm lunch: small bagel w. cream cheese, tomato juice (hot and spicy flavor) - 300

4:30pm snack healthy! - some whitefish 200, popcorn 100.

snack: granola bar 130

dinner: yellow pepper 50, microwave meal 370 (eggplant rollettes)

2200. good.

so far, mostly healthy foods, some not as much. moderation.

exercise: weights 1.5 hours, walk 1 hr. good.  Feeling so much better after the weight workout!

 How I will get to my goal weight, 10 lbs to lose - maybe a little over 10 lbs at the moment, but I refuse to weigh myself right now! :-)...

1. January - Lose approx. 5 lbs

2. February - Lose approx. 5 lbs

3. March - Lose approx. 5 lbs

If I can lose just this little, little! amount of weight, even less than 5 lbs per month!, I will reach my goal. Boy, this sounds so simple, even almost EASY. I can do this, I can do this, I will win this once and for all - and forever. I will shine....I will not let myself down. I will accomplish this goal.

Love the idea of a cruise. Personally, I'd cut myself some slack and go for 10 pounds. 3 3 and 3 (with an extra one in there somewhere). Give it some consideration. But I know you're an overachiever... Takes one to know one ;-)

8am breakfast, probably falling back to sleep after: healthy and tasty protein bar 190, kombucha 60. some liquid vitamins from vitamin shop 20 =  270. some flax chews 60. 330. gave in to some tasty treats...also some roasted squash 120, and some nice pita chips 300....okay and a new kind of tasty, moist protein bar 230. yeah. a bit much, but i am feeling good about this....one more bar 230. cookies 260, chocolate 80, ice cream 220.

total so far: 1770. fine.

2150....after lunch/snacks

2600...after granola bar snacking

200...after veggies and salad


cereal and chips: 650.

total: 3450 =  not too bad. happy with this. done! happy new year! it is what it is and may 2012 be better!

exercise: 4 mi walk. maybe 5. not sure.

okay, calories did get a bit out of hand, more snacking, 500 more...total:

4000. is ok. over. tomorrow will be better.

I am forgetting about good/bad days of 2011.

tomorrow i start fresh, blank slate.

i work out, eat better and start fresh.

here's to making more progress, continuing my progress, in 2012.

today's binge is in my mind history. i will not mention it tomorrow :-D

3am, woke up hungry! makes sense since i ate dinner a bit earlier and worked out pretty hard with only a small snack. sooo, ate a protein bar. 230 cal, good!...not buying these messy, crummy bars again! they make a mess everywhere when i eat them! the taste is also decent, but oh well, on to something new once I finish this box.

..........must stay patient, but I sure wish I weighed 115 right now! I can't wait for it! This is THE YEAR baby!

6:00am big breakfast: one flax candy thing 20, 2 servings higher protein oatmeal with flax/soy milk: 340. total: 360 yum.

590/600 with 3am snack..good.

snack: coffee w. milk but like 2-3 cups 100

lunch: very, very healthy tofu, a red sprouted lentil salad, roasted butternut squash. 400.

snacking: 2 candies 50, veggies 80

more snacking: more veggies, more veggies, roasted a little. 200.

tsf: 1450 approx.

BIG dinner: i'll just say 800...and hope that it's not more!

2250. it was a huge dinner, lots of oil because i had lots of veggies, sauteed at a restaurant. i had two full plates of roasted veggies, so good but i think too much oil. also some shrimp, guacamole, and some chicken! i hope it's not more than 800!

2250. and kombucha. 2350.

exercise: 45 min run/walk.

two slices of a flax type of bread! so good! 160 and apple butter 20, then a nice hot wheat cereal 140 with almond milk 40 = 360! wow, so much for so little!

snack: will be coffee w. milk/splenda? 60 ...some protein bar 230.


lunch: a good one...spaghetti squash w. peas 150, some sauce 50, tofu 70, jalepenos, 20 maybe chips 210. 500.

a healthy, good day!

calories through dinner: 1550. :-D

calories after gym: around 150, good.

total cal: around 1700 calories = excellent!

exercise: weights one hour, cardio 1/2 hour.

i will miss out on sleep, bc of the gym, but it was worth it.

tomorrow should be a short day at work. i may come home and nap....maybe. and then walk at the park...or maybe the opposite order so that i can walk in the sunlight!

(for my own info - 2950 cal since Thanksgiving! = much progress, now less than 3000 cal to eliminate...)

I have lost approximately 10 lbs since June. I can do this.  I can continue to lose. I really need a reminder right now, that it is possible a second time around. Hopefully the last time around. I do not what to have to do this again. I think in some ways, if you can do weight maintenance, it can be tricky but at least you don't have to deal with losing, right? hmmm. something to think about. I just want to get there. I think that I will be happy weighing in the teens. like even 119 would feel great!  I am short, remember.

My goal for the next few months is to get there, back below 120. for now, just reaching 121 will feel awesome. I plan to do some extra hot yoga, maybe that will help me like once a week or so.....

for me, this weightloss is a priority. Being this is my last year in my 20's, I am looking for a change.  I am looking to better myself in terms of my physical, outer image.

I want "perfection." But my perfection is not what you think, it includes things that make us unique, even flaws. But I want to be able to dress & wear anything. To look good in everything. To have a body that I've worked to achieve and to be so proud of.

For me, a physical appearance and image of a beautiful body is very important. to some it may not be, and i can understand. but i know myself. kids may not be in my future. I am different and i need to be this way. and when i enter my 30's, my plan is to be pristine...maybe not the right word? but what i mean is have a body that i believe is beautiful and not showing signs of wear and tear and roughness.

A very good day. My exercise ended up being one full hour of treadmill/elliptical with a nice amount of running, and even a few short bursts of running at a speed of 6.0 (10 min/mile!) that's good, considering I was only walking even in the summer, no running I believe unless I'm mistaken. So i'm doing well and improving. I couldn't do 6.0 when I started, only like 4.5 mi per hour haha, so even if I don't necessarily realize my progress, this is solid progress right here...

an hour of exercise, some pushups too for fun. i'm up to 60 pushups per set. still 10 more to compete with my coworker! :-D soon, soon i tell you! maybe after the New Year.

an hour of overtime at work, too. but less traffic on the roads so my commute is half what it sometimes is! which is AWESOME! saves me time and i'm getting up later this week. luckily my boss hasn't asked me to come early this week and i feel like I am needing a big break, so this is working out kinda smoothly. thank you god.

eating was also GREAT today. lots of veggies, good/not as good carbs, but a wonderful mix. that's what matters.

approx 1750 cal today. maybe closer to 1800, but i'll say 1750 :-)

yesterday's 2750 calories and today's 1750 calories equal out to 2250 per day =  success. I consider 2250 a good amount for maintenance, actually. 2250 is a bit high, but I ignore it and let it go and just consider it a moderate amount. you can't starve everday and I am not in a rush to lose weight as fast as possible. I'm very happy with my progress so far and I look foward to more progress. :-D

I'm thankful to have a job and to be so challenged right now as to not take a vacation during the week that I've always had off, my whole entire life until now!

In some ways, I do not need a vacation right now. Yes, I was a little run down, luckily I'm not working as crazy hours this week, thankfully. As long as this week continues this way, I'll be feeling good on New Year's Eve. Not in the mood to be tired all this coming weekend, so I'll cross my fingers for a lighter week. :-)

(3450 since Thanksgiving = extra cals in my opinion that I have eaten since Thanksgiving, not too bad....! slightly under a pound and going DOWN baby!)  If you are wondering, I usually count calories as above my needs when they are over 2250! so i'm not that picky or restrictive... :-)

Wish I could do running too, but today I had to run after the bus and my back started to protest heavily... I understand your thoughts about the image. It's very important to me too, though I have a contradiction here because I am pretty aware that my body won't ever be not even near to perfect, because of my self-destroying behaviors over the last ... 25? years. I'm thirty today. I blame my family, too, and myself to a certain point (ignorance?), but I always loved myself, I always saw the pretty woman behind ... the fat!... and it unfortunately worked counter-clockwise if you understand me. I ignored the fact that no one else saw the pretty me ...

OKAY. so a slight binge after work, but actually mostly VERY healthy, and then some extra carbs in the form of popcorn and crackers. but it was worth it. and total calories are really no so bad. nothing that can't be evened out very easily. i was feeling the typical binge feelings: extremely run down and exhausted after work. thing is, i didn't even eat less than usual, at all. so weird.

2750 calories. mostly really healthy  - lots of veggies, fruit, protein. and some extra carby things. :-D it's ok

exercise: treadmill probably for 30 min run/walk...or less. weights for one hour.

One question - when you eat more than you should, don't you sweat too much in the bed while sleeping? It happens to me sometimes, I wake up and I have a pool of sweat (sorry, being gross) under me, and no kidding, the sheet is all wet and darker at certain spots (we use dark sheets, gray or green). I still couldn't decide if it was good or bad... I just hope that it's a kind of benefit from exercising and burning more (up w/ the metabolism), because it never happened to me before...

I'm thinking the extra carbs are because you were tired. Your body's way of fortifying itself against fatigue. I think it'll even itself out. You're doing really well!
