because my dad has special privledges due to his job, I was able to actually go INSIDE the ground zero (9-11) construction site today. it was really cool to see.

early breakfast: strawberries: 60

Late breakfast: never took place.

lunch: 4 pickles, a large deli turkey sandwich on rye bread: 600

snack: few cherry tomatoes, large granny smith apple 150

total so far: 810 eesh. I don't want to eat a lot for dinner. I'd like to keep the total in the 1200s. Going out to eat with family and will probably get a salad.

dinner: ended up more than i wanted but still alright in terms of total daily calories. 1 cup of manhattan clam chowder soup, grilled sea bass, broccoli, coffee. 700 at most.

total: 1500 approx. ok.

I will bike for a little while in the AM. Then, I have to get ready to spend the rest of the day with family.

What an interesting week and weekend it's been having my uncle stay here since Wednesday. Today will be spent with my family (we do not do this often so it should be a good, yet slightly stressful in terms of food choices, day for me).

We'll be visiting my grandma, taking her out to lunch for her birthday which was Thursday, and then possibly go into the city, later out to dinner. I will eat making smart choices, how can't I? I've been doing so well. I feel some weight loss, finally. I cannot be happier with how my body feels as it gets slimmer. On the other hand, my energy levels are not always consistent. sometimes i'm quite tired. I also haven't been sleeping well. I'm still not giving up. I want this to be the last time that I let my eating go so out of control that I gain 20 lbs in less than a year. It was so unhealthy what I did.

Friday when i went for my walk i didn't have a snack beforehand. at first, i was a little lethargic, but then i got into it. I didn't even have an appetite by the end of the my walk after 5 miles. This means I can get by successfully on my current eating plans. I always try to get in carbs, but good ones usually, and lots of fiber.

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 15 lbs to go!

exercise: yoga and 5 mile walk. excellent.

Today I work up earlier than I thought I would. Lately I've been getting by on less sleep. Maybe exercising is making that possible. I'm not very tired throughout the day but sometimes for a little while in the afternoon I feel it!

Breakfast: Fage yogurt with light activia yogurt mixed in. This satisfies me! Lg tea. strrawberries: 210

Lunch a bit large, very hungry early after yoga: 1.5 cups fiber one, .5 cup strawberries, 1 cup milk, 4 ounce cc, 4 ounce activia yogurt: 460.

sour mints throughout afternoon

dinner: salad, chicken, lg pita bread, orange: 550-600 or something like that.

total: 1300 good day.

Snack: I really want an iced coffee at some point today!

Dinner: I know we'll be going out to eat with my Uncle that came to stay with us.

I make my own iced coffee sometimes w/ SF Raspberry Syrup, Skim Milk and a Stoutly Brew of coffee.... Takes a bit to get used to, but is pretty tasty..

around 1280 cal. I am totally not sure how many calories dinner was. I ended up going out and had a LOT of veggies and then also a salad with seared tuna and nothing else in it. I am hoping that calories were around 400. Hopefully that's right. Otherwise, it was still a pretty low day with lots of exercise.

exercise: AM 40 min, PM 50 min walk.

I haven't been giving into food temptations. We had a breakfast in the faculty room today but I had breakfast beforehand. Also, there wasn't as good a selection as usual so that's good. Last night I almost gave in to having a 300 calorie pita bread! NOT worth it. Three hundred calories just for the actual bread and nothing else. I am doing well, as long as I learn to calm myself down and not think of drowning my emotions in food.

Because I was up earlier than usual this morning, I decided to just take a walk outside. It was slightly drizzling, but not during most of the 40 minute walk I took. It was worth it and I will probably go to the gym later, not so in the mood for yoga tonight - I plan on going tomorrow morning when I have a day off from work.

Breakfast: lots of fiber one, milk: 310

snack: cc: 110

Lunch: yogurt: 160

snack: lots of tofu sprinkled with cinnamon and a large apple 300

I've been tired today due to lack of sleep lately bc i wake up early for no apparent reason! Actually, one reason is that my uncle from California has been staying with us. But, I can't believe it's causing me to wake up so early in the morning - and i've been going to bed later than usual. I have a feeling I'll catch up on sleep come Sunday and Monday which I have off from work, too.

total so far: 880.

I can have 400 cal for dinner and make it a 1280 approx. day. This is my plan :) I can do this :) yes.

of course you can do this!! OMG! i thought no one else in the world ate raw tofu...guess who sprinkles cinnamon and splenda on hers? sometimes i slice it like cheese and put it on top of apples...i think we should have a lunch date! and PS- i am addicted to fiber one

I like taking my early morning walks, it's so quiet during that time of morning with only a few other people passing by from time to time. I try to look around and enjoy the scenery because I walk along a trail through the park, but sometimes i'm not quite 'awake' enough to do that! But the crisp fresh air does its work and i'm ready for the day by the time I get back home. Good luck this week!!!

Yes, to realize that it is o.k. to step away and do something else for about 10-15 minutes or drink a glass of water and wait the same period of time instead..Tend to find you weren't REALLY hungry after all and don't miss eating that "item or items" once we have our mind off of it....

You are doing wonderful...Soon this will be routine and not seem such a chore...

I haven't got nearly anything accomplished today that I set out to do, but the work isn't going to "Stop" because of it, so I best get with what I can get done at least.... Good Evening!

Hi! Concerning my very light menu consisting of carbo: My friend, who lost 45 pounds recently, told me that instead of avoiding carbo you must take it in small portions all day long to keep burning it. She says it helps metabolism while tricking your body into thinking there is more to come, so it keeps burning. When she reached a plateau in weight loss with a diet of high protein, she was loosing hope when someone told her about eating more carbo. She switched to this method and it worked, she says. Now, in my case, I find it easier to eat small amounts of carbo (the good kind, whole wheat, whole cereal, the crackers that look like cardboard, unfortunately) than fruits, celery sticks or dairy products, for example, as my snacks. I eat LOTS of veggies in my main meals and different kinds of beans for the protein � I don�t like meat so much, i maily cook meat for my husband who can't live without it. I find that when I eat fruits or dairy as snacks, my stomach makes hungry noises half an hour later � I don�t know why, I might be allergic to acidicity or dairy products. Must ask my doctor. That doesn�t happen with my little crackers. In fact, I don�t feel hungry until it�s time for another snack or meal. I hope this answers your question. Have a great day!

late edit: after dinner, i had a TON of sugar free jelly...but good news is NOTHING else after that.

TOTAL CALORIES: 1500. still ok. today was a HUNGRY DAY.

Early evening: For some reason, I have been hungrier today than the past few days, starting right in the morning and lasting all day! I'm glad I made the choice to head to yoga RIGHT after work and not wait an hour and a half because i might have made bad food choices if I had stayed home.

exercise: hot yoga.

I'm not sure if I will walk today, actually, I won't. My ankle needs the rest. Then again, I'm bored just sitting here. Maybe I should head out for a walk. eh. we'll see. I might as well do a slow walk on the treadmill.

breakfast: large with two added 4 ounce yogurts: 475

snack: cc: 110

lunch: yogurt: 150

snack: apple/diet snapple noni drink: 155

dinner: amy's microwave lasagna, 2 cucumbers, dressing. 410

total: 1300. ok. :)

i always feel the same way when i leave work! tonight i was crazy about food but i went on a mini hike for about an hour- then went shopping at whole foods and i hardly was hungry after that! its such an emotional/spiritual hunger i believe. good call and good foods!

Happy Hump Day! Yay, its Wednesday :) I haven't said that in months! So, most of the kids are on a trip that i'd be teaching today so my plans at school will be to work with different kids today and administer lots of reading tests. I love when the routine shifts and every day is not exactly the same. Yay for change of plans today!

Breakfast: fruit,cereal,milk:

Snack: cc 110

lunch: yogurts: 150

snack: caffeine free diet soda.

snack: fruit and yogurt:

dinner: will be microwavable

HAHA. nice background. the job isnt necessarily too "Easy" but i am just growing in different directions since i started here. it is a good thing, but its hard when my role hasnt been re-defined. i am in production, so it has been difficult to find that spiritual/yogic quality with which i hope to live my entire life sometimes. i feel like some days i want to run into the woods and live far away where i can just be in nature and do something that matters. ahh, talk about a fantasy world, right? xoxo

today was a good day as has been the whole week :)

After school, I plan on picking up a free pair of underwear at Victoria's Secret. I get a free one many times of year with a coupon in the mail. I also plan on buying some frames for my college/grad school diplomas and awards. I want to hang them up in my room so i can be proud of my accomplishments. It makes me feel good.

breakfast: cereal/fruit 325

snack: cc 110

lunch: yogurts: 150

snack: apple/yogurt: 200

dinner: 2 cucumbers with dressing, lean cuisine 350.

total so far: 1135. i rocked today!..plus small plum: 1175 :)

exercise: I was going to do yoga, but i think the elliptical at the gym is a better idea today. i will do yoga tomorrow :)

Dinner: amy's lasanga, 2 cucumbers with dressing 390 :)

total: 1235 = GREAT DAY :) plus a peach = 1275 :) so happy about today.

YOGA after school...I am going to go at 4pm if I get out of work on time. Otherwise, I'll go to a later class.

I am very proud of myself and I KNOW I can totally pull this weight loss off. What has been helping me is taking one day at a time, getting enough sleep (although the past two days have been shakey), and remembering there is NOTHING to stress about. The moment I start to worry or get anxious, my plans get blown. So, everytime I feel uneasy, I slow down and calm my thoughts down. It's working.

Putting weightloss as a priority is really paying off. I feel good and partially due to my reintroduction to yoga. I have gone there twice in the past 3 days and my whole body is beginning to feel so much better already. I plan on going tomorrow for sure as I think my ankle is still recovering from my 6 mile walk Sunday. I want to try another six mile walk later in the week if it's nice out.

late lunch: 2 4 ounce cottage cheeses (pineapple), apple, tea, 3 extremely small peaches (yes i'm now very full.) 450

feeling bingy. snacked on 2 plum tomatoes and tofu: 235, piece of gum 10

dinner: amy's tofu and rice meal with 2 cucumbers and a little dressing 350. I wanted calories lower, but it was too tasty to throw away.

total calories today: 1375. All in all a good day.

6 mile walk and 25 min on elliptical.

Progress as of today: 4 lbs lost so far, only 16 lbs to go!

Re: Custodial Job ~ I don't mind doing it too much.... I just put in a C.D. and crank it up, so I can enjoy it.... It is our church building, so it is more of a feeling of wanting to have it clean, instead of a "have to"....

Saturday:

exercise: yoga and walking. good day! :)

Today was a good day. I did binge at dinner on over 1,000 calories including a whole sleeve of Ritz crackers. BUT, the whole day/week is NOT a wreck because of it.

Total calories for today are still a reasonable 1900, despite the dinner binge of 1050. The goal for tomorrow is 1200 calories. I will keep myself busy and hopefully I'll be able to reach my goal. I let the best get to me today, but its low enough in calories so that it still isn't affecting the next few days which is good.

Breakfast: 1 cup p. cc, strawberries

lunch: cereal, milk, cinnamon

snack: iced coffee, low cal snapple drink, 1 very small peach, small container of blackberries

snack: sugar free sour mints

dinner: smart ones lasagne, many veggies, orange, sugar free jelly, and an entire sleeve of ritz crackers oops.

I rented a movie for tonight bc i wasn't planning on going out more than one night this weekend. I actually don't mind staying in. I hope to not wake up too early tomorrow. I'm nervous about how I will feel about eating so much tonight. Usually what happens is my blood sugar is really low and I wake up ravenous.

But, I must remember, I have NO STRESS! :) So, I must continue on with this weight loss journey that I have started.

If I reach my goal of 115 by the June 27, I would get myself a gift. What gift? I have to think about this one!

Ok...I just calculated my goal and it seems it is way to lofty. I have six weeks till June 27. It would be HIGHLY improbable for me to lose 2 lbs each week unless I really amp up exercise and keep calories MAJORLY low. I think I weigh about 133 now. 133 - 12 lbs = 121 lbs by June 27. UGH. I'm still going to keep my lofty goal of 115 and I'll see what happens. I'll just work my hardest.

The moment I reach 115, I will start dress shopping for my friend's wedding. But, this can't be the gift I give myself. The only gift that sounds good to me is swimming lessons because I can swim, but terribly. That would be great exercise that wouldn't mess with my ankle which is sometimes weak. But, I am not even so excited to give myself that. Any suggestions on a gift to myself for reaching my goal?

OH, I love Dunkin' Donuts Coffee! YUM. I buy the whole beans and grind and brew! lso - I had to chuckle at the Ritz Cracker munch you had - I ate 1/2 a sleeve with 1/2 a package of this garlic & herb cheese. There wasn't anything else for lunch really and that's what I wound up eating! As far as a gift? I Don't know. I always like massage.

I would love to be able to swim.... It has been years since I even though about getting into a pool...My Aunt has a gorgeous set-up and 4th of July all the family goes over to her house...My feet are the only thing that get wet! July 4, 2009 shall be a different story.....

Re: Thrift Stores ~ I NEVER used to shop for clothing in our Goodwill ( very dirty )..I used to just go for finding treasures to sell on Ebay, then they did a big remodel a couple summers ago... Target donates all of their unsold "clearance" items to them now, plus they have become very picky about the donations they take in... Nice shopping place now. I have bought almost all of our daughter's clothing there, plus find super nice skateboarding t-shirts for our son... He isn't a "skate-freak", just likes too look "in-style" with the other boys his age...He loves to go looking and rub it in his buddies face that he only had to give $1.99 for his shirt, when they have spent $25....

Gee, first time I read our diary! How well thought out you have your days! I make mental notes as to how my day will play out and have been VERY aware of what I'm eating in the last few weeks. I'm especially interested in how yuo layout your menu - easy to read and easy to follow! I think I'll duplicate some of your meals and snack ideas!!! Oh, by the way........what is CC?
