 9/7/21 Tuesday - Vaca Day 8 - Religious New Year (will celebrate with parents on weekend; but will take the day off in observance by not attending work; no temple; the idea is to make progress on my course because today is the day I have planned to get good handle on it! :)

9:30-10am breakfast: banana 150 larger one, yoplait whipped mouse yogurt cherry pie i think? 150, coffee negl, oatmeal strawberries and cream made with almond milk 150. 450.

11:45 snacking: gummy elderberries that i love, 1 milano cookie that was left in the dbl choc package. 100 tops.


followed by a 1pm-ish phone call, for about an hour?! so no work...

after phone all, 2pm ish snacked on more milanos, choc/mint after phone all, 130, may put the third one away? 200 tops.

3pm - lunchthai leftovers corn salad with a few cashews 150, veggie leftovers not too much 100, piece of a spring roll 50, chicken 150, tortilla 150. 600. dried jackfruit 100.

..

5:15pm diarrhea (i know, TMI!)....glad to be HOME. and resolve my stomach before heading back to work tomorrow.

6:30 diarrhea, bc still not feeling right; so diarrhea again at 6:30 after drinking kombucha around 6pm - was thinking this might happen, trying to just debloat fully and knock it all out...

dinner: pear 100; pan fried pierogies potato/cheese had just over 1 serving or there would have been just one left, cooked them all and ate them all ...450.. 550 total.

2050, fine.

 will take a shower, do leg exercises before bed. watch tv. 


Today's Priority: Study and complete the course week 2 hw...which is due tomorrow :) - finished only half. didn't want to keep working thru the night. stopped at 8:30. sent in 1st assignment. will do the 2nd assignment this weekend. no need to stay up doing it. 

(Gave myself 2 hours in the sun for yesterday's beach day. it was longer in the sun, but that's the cardio/time in the sun i wish to record for the activity of being at the beach. we prob walked not more than an hour plus, but i'm generous with myself when i'm really outdoors most of the day. got some burns here and there for not putting on sun screen as carefully as possible, but that is OK too :) )

no need to do laundry today or go to supermarket, for that matter. so i'll stay mostly home today. if i want to; i can go on my bike or stairclimber. i think i want to stay indoors; despite lovely weather. yesterday was the day i was totally outdoors. time to relax and get my work done today. 

i can also prep meals (means organizing - making sure there's protein,carbs, veggies in each meal and adding either rice or meat or whatever until the meal is balanced - food that's cooked already or frozen already) for the remaining 3 days of the work week so the week is easier to go thru with a simpler morning routine and ability to leave apt faster in the AM's this week :)

i was thinking to wear makeup but realize there's a mask rule...so may as well take public trans if makeup and all that isn't an option? start the readings for week 3; saved them in my email, will print at work and read them to/from work. printing so there's no issue with losing service to email and having a problem reading off my phone in subway.

9/11/21 - Saturday - holiday for my family's alternate day of observance with family as during the week wasn't very good for my parents this year so we worked it for today :) I didn't finish the Writing assignment due Wednesday, so if get some points off for late i do not care. I did half of the assignments, all of the readings, due this past wednesday but ran out of time tuesday for all. it's ok. the amount of time per week is averaged at 8 hrs, so i don't feel bad for not finishing everything in one shot on Tuesday. it's more important i go to bed, go to work, than finish. will finish today/tomrrow...and start on week 3!

it's good to avoid it. i get frustrated when i do burn bc i try hard to avoid burning most of the time. so it's like undoing the work to not get burned every time i burn! ah well, next year i'll try harder.

At this rate, you should be all caught up by week 4, maybe week 3, but like you said, if it's a few points off for being late, big deal.

Good idea to print out your readings (and at work, if I do say so). I seem to read/study more effectively when I have something in paper in front of me, versus a screen. You can also write notes or highlight on the paper copies.

Sounds like you had a lovely day off, overall :-)

i was copying notes to word doc at home, so was adding my notes on the computer as i read...but these printed docs i'll do it the old way, make notes that way by pen and paper.

 9/6/21 Monday Labor Day off - Holiday -

Got up and pushed myself to do an upper body workout! it's done! i did it quickly in under 40 min. now i can say that i didn't skip a day this week. i did have to push it so that i'm ready by the time she gets here. A little rushed, but good to get the workout in now.

tonight is better for relaxing. I will most probably organize my week 2 notes so i'm ready to read thru them faster and find anwers faster tomorrow when I both read the notes, watch any videos, and do both of the week 2 assignments! :)

Going to a simpler beach that doesn't require a ferry ;) closer. easier. thankful. with friend C. reason being the weather is a few degrees warmer and less chance of rain at the closer beach :) She's coming here at 10:30am.

Dang, HOP, those business classes would bore me to tears! But that’s what my brother studied & he’s quite affluent, more from real estate than his CPA job though. Owns a donut store & big tire shop. Gives free donuts & coffee to the cops! Place swarming with them. LOL

Ah, thank you for the outline of your class! This does help me recall what was covered in the class I took, and it would seem that they are similar after all.

Since you are already an hour ahead, in the time zones, I will take this time to wish you a happy Rosh Hashana! How fitting that you plan to study, for a new career, on a day to look ahead!

I bet it felt GOOD to get that upper body weight workout in this morning, like a mission accomplished!

PS I do agree with Jacky to some degree. It was interesting to learn about, but I would NOT want a job as a business law paralegal.

i like how you put it, taking the new year to study for future. it would be nice if it worked out in the future. you never know. i still hope so, for now. :-D

we'll see how the rest of the course goes to see if it gets more interesting or the subject matter more intriguing and not just easy stuff i've already learned in the past. Week 1 was easy and very generalized. didn't learn much new. just a review mostly of knowledge i had already. i'm sure there'll be more to learn as the course progresses.

Brother did indeed work hard. Joined Air Force at age 17 & attended college on the GI bill after. He’s very bright; they say California CPA test, like the bar exam, is difficult to pass.

9/5/21 Sunday - Study course, make progress...it's 3pm today, i'm going ok, still taking notes on an hour video. i keep pausing the video to take notes, hence why it's taking quite awhile to get thru the video. i am halfway done. hope to start answering questions later, unless there's tons of written notes to read also. but if they are written notes, i may just skim them; as i watched the video, and see if i can answer the questions... the video is a

Powerpoint presentation on easier subject matter about business torts. not hard yet. just on who may be priveleged from saying something that can be considered defamation but has privalege at times (judges, general counsel, financial advisors and similar) and cannot be prosecuted as commiting a tort (a wrong, punishable usually by under a year or other type of sentence). tort is usually considered the less punishable vs a crime that is a year or more in prison.

not sure if the remainder of this first week material will delve deeper, we'll see. also the powerpoint mentions names of cases as examples of business tort law, but i'm not taking notes because the presenter isn't going into depth on these cases so there's not much to write about...it's not like in history class when we have learned about a case and also the whole scenario regarding it (like when a Parks first decided to sit in the front of a bus for only white people....) the presenter is hardly going that much into these cases.

i know TMI but bloating, constipation first, followed by diarhea on and off today today. if i were home earler more this week, i would have had the same thing during the week. i could feel it while at work stomach issues but due to the fast pace of a work week, my body wasn't relaxed enough to eliminate from Wed afternoon thru Saturday almost at all. so today, i'm still feeling it and re-regulating my body i guess. 


Clean GP cages, my laundry  - done

Upper body weights ? probably tonight.

Do course week 1 hw. DONE. thank gosh. had to push myself. DONE.

I know it is majorly busy up here this weekend with out of towners...it will be interesting to see how busy things are there for this holiday weekend.

usually things die down here on holiday bc people spend the last weekend home getting ready for work. except this year schools are starting late; so maybe it will be busier by me. however, things should def stay really busy by you if the schools are starting well after labor day, which they are this year. many starting 9/9 or in new york city schools late on 9/13 start date.

regarding debris at the beach, they call it beach errosion. no, i couldn't see any garbage or mess of litter on the beach, no, but the sand/shoreline gets errosion. you should look that up as i'm not giving you the scientific analysis of what beach errosion after a storm means. but we def got it.

on the highways is where all the litter is...and worse, there is dirt. dirt that washed up as the rains and quick rainfall poured onto the streets and brought the dirt and mud from the grass and plants on the sides of the road with it. so some parts of the streets were left with dry dirt and leftover dried soil/earth which made for messier driving.

there should be a rule or something to clean the sides of highways / gutters like 1x per month. they are covered.

some people just don't care about littering. near my job, on an exit close to it located in harlem, there were clothes all spilled out on the side of the road and over the sewer. it should be picked up...not left there to make a mess for drivers and block sewers. clothes shouldn't be on the street! not sure why or how these weird things occur, but they do.

once i saw a whole suitcase and littered clothes again on the side of a street closer to where i live. just many oddities that need cleaning.

Whoa, your Business Law class is completely different than what I took! Very interesting! Mine was more focused on the different ways to set up a business (LLC, Incorporation, LP, LLP, etc.). I don't remember going into torts (a separate Torts class, which I took) or contracts (a separate Contracts class, which I also took). Contracts & Torts is way more interesting than business organization, LOL!

Alexa told me that you're having cool, rainy weather, so that's perfect for studying. :-)

Maybe MY class was actually like yours and I just don't remember, LOL! I'll see if I can find the book and flip through it. I'm not even sure where the textbook is, I just remember that of ALL the paralegal classes, it was the thickest, and we covered most, if not all, of it -- during a summer course. It was hard to keep up. Huge final project at the end that was a huge chunk of our grade. Oof....

Any exposure you get to torts will help you in a court job, in the civil division.

Hope you have fun at the local beach - good idea to cut down the travel time!

evening edit: we got out 15 min early which i'm happy about. got home by a little after 5pm and was able to drop off my rent maintenance by stopping there on the drive instead of walking - so i could get home, have a snack, and take advantage of being home early to exercise so i can get back to relaxing tonight after weights :) after weights, did 15 min bike until around 8:20 but then quit to make pierogies...they were great :)

breakfast: banana smallish 100, coffee 50, dunkin donut blueberry 300 not sure if i'll have it all now.

snacks: keto pump pie of a frozen variety very tiny with small almond crust. glad it's finished. no more purchases of this brand (came in multiples, so finished all of them, finally). there was some health to it; but not tasty and too many flavors going on.

lunch: healthy750 more meat stuffed pepper from mom and rice 

5:30pm snack back at home before doing upper/lower while watching tv 2 milano cookies 130, leftover wine from last night still good sitting out lol 50 cal, stevia seltzer. 200 tops. may have clementine later. calories negl. few more baby clementines

dinner: prob the potato cheese peirogies fried and a salad...and a few animal crackers. 450 tops. delightful.

2100 tops. maybe a little less even.

if we get out early? (i don't think so though - diff rules in the field versus the main office of the company), but if we get out early, i shall walk but also study the materials...and try to get ahead on the week 1 materials that i'm late on...?

woke up a hair late, got to work 15min or so late. is ok. been tired and nobody is concerned. other lady had same issue...

I want to do weights tonight - in progress soon, just having a snack:

DROP OFF RENT MAINTENANCE. stayed home last night and didn't go back out to drop off the check which is now in my car to drop off before i go home...or after i park in my garage later if i want to walk to drop off the check. DONE.

be at parents at approx 10am?! mom said. check this weird time with her again...seems too early...lol, texted them to say i'll be there 10:30 as 10am is just too early after this week. the beach is like 30 min from them and i doubt they need to leave so early to get there. so took it upon myself to make it 10:30. they'll be ok with that as long as i come at that time!

I have NO anticipation of getting out of work early today, LOL -- in fact, I'm planning on probably staying late, to get as much as possible done before coming back from the long weekend. These weekend holidays just aren't worth it. I come back to boatload of extra work - even Mistakes Girl said to me yesterday, "Now I know what you mean about the pain of having a holiday weekend. It's just not worth it."

I don't want to leave my comments on such a depressing note as I did above (lol), so I'll add that I hope that whenever you do get out of work, that you enjoy your time, whether it be taking a walk before the commute home - I completely understand why you do this; it's a great idea! - or go home and do weights, or simply rest.

What a wonderful thing to get out early. I think I ended up staying 30 minutes late. A realtor sent me a new contract and then called about it at 4:55pm. We all really like her - she gives us a lot of business - but oh MAN does that one hurt. And this is like the 2nd time she's done this.

9/2/21 - Thursday - 30 min after work bc i've been weirdly bloated and uncomfortablle this week when it should have been the opposite so got a nice walk in and enjoyed it before the drive home :)

breakfast: dd glazed donut 250 from coworker; banana and coffee 150. 400.

Snack: smallish pumpkin almond crust cheesecake from my freezer that defrosted nicely overnight. 250.but still not good enough to buy again.

1pm Lunch: HEALTHY. lean cuisine awesome veg meal with somthing like a quinoa patty and rice with veggies too. 500 approx. and a small plum 50. 

Snack:

Dinner: fried pierogie potato cheese that i made :) 400, veggies 50, siggi's strawberry yogurt 110, 2 milano cookies 140. 700....might have something to dink. wine 150.

TONIGHT: write out my maintenance check and drop off; was supposed to do it last night. will take the short walk to drop off after work as exercise; or drop off on the way to work tomorrow if i walk.

It was a crazy commute after widespread powerful storms last night into early hours of AM. i was an hour late to work, no issue for work, holdups and lane closures everywhere. cars parked all along the sides of the road on highways with i guess drivers removed by emergency vehicles last night. cars in wrong direction. some leftover puddles on road. i will leave work on time today - bc i cannot thinking about making up the time this week. i'll make it up next week when i'm having an easier week..or make it up in 15 min intervals over the course of 4 days. 

Planning to do some walking here after work but actually, i'm gonna drive home, sit on my bike and watch tv at home :)

I saw footage on the NYC subways being flooded and wondered how all that rain and water was affecting you, as I recall you having some hazardous driving the last time it flooded. I'm glad that you're OK - and that your car is OK too, LOL.

So glad to hear that you got in both weight workouts yesterday! I was wondering about that, but with no pressure upon you (for my sake) of course, if that makes sense. I was just wondering.

Even with having Monday off, this has been the longest week ever. I could not imagine having to make up time. Gosh, I hope I don't have to stay late tonight.

last evening, the rain started late after i got home so my commute home yesterday was good, no rain.

today, there were lots of disabled vehicles along the roads. some facing even in wrong direction and lanes merging into 1 bc of it. so lots of traffic, but very little flooding left.

i pushed to do the workouts a bit more efficiently and i slept really well and did want to sleep more still when my alarms went off as i only prob slept 7 hours or less. but it was deep.

also, i'm glad the workouts are done considering the week got crazier lol with today's commute, etc after last night!

no, not personally affected me. just traffic but that was residual bc of the flood and cars left on the road disabled when it was previously flooded earlier in thhe night / morning. but i wasn't actually driving thru floods or anything.

 Multiple trips to the bathroom for #2 today; feel like i still have cramps lately even though period is over. weird extra bloating and issues. should fix soon. could be old frozen food, who knows.

9/1/21 - SEPTEMBER! - Wedneday!  !!! ...maybe a rest day generally...

i may keep today as a rest day; for one less day of weights this week. i'll see if i can change my mind tonight; not sure...bc i am very tired still today and don't think i want to stay up tonight at all...will determine tonight.

I will do legs today though.

It's rainy, so no outdoor cardio today at all.

last night i fell asleep on the couch with guinea pig for like 2 hours. then woke up close to 11pm, got ready for bed then. it was the gp that holds things in well, lol, so it was simple. the other gp's were making noise like they missed their pal that was laying on me so nicely for like 2 hours. 

Breakfast banana and coffee 150, frozen choc muffin i had made, forgot calories/nutrition but pretty good, 200, pb 100. 

Snacks: grapes 50 approx; pretzels (extremely tired and lethargic as well as feeling low on sugar; the good thing is i was able to relieve myself fully in the bathroom earlier)

Lunch: healthy frozen leftovers: half burger or so 200, rice 200, corn and spinach 100. plum 50. 540

1150.....

Snacks: none, because lunch is filling so i can move on as i leave work early at 3:30 which is pretty soon after lunch so many times i can get away with no snacks.

Dinner: the last cabbage filled dumpling large 250?, veggies that i had cooked 100, dipped in light sweetened soy sauce mix from the restaurant 50, i also ate some lox for protein first before dinner 100, then gummies bc i have some craving for sugar as i'm going to do weights 200, followed by two milano dbl choc cookies 150. extra indulgences, but i was able to stop after that. knew i had low cals from the workday and it'd fit in...850..but i'm glad i stopped bc the calories i add up usually after i eat...so i realized now i's 2000 and not before while doing the eating.

I didn't quite finish my thought. I'm glad that you decided to rest/sleep last night. That commute can really be draining, if it's anywhere nears what I was doing when I worked in Chicago (the actual downtown), or when I worked for the litigation firm in a suburb.

upper i am bad, i start to procrastinate with resting between sets as i'm home...if i do it full speed ahead without wasting time, it could be 45min or so or like an hour and done. ...but it sometimes takes me double that when i start to do things, go online, etc.

for legs, i like to do those before or after work, if i do it full speed ahead it's only 10 min, but can be up to like 25 min at home...

i waste time at home. i should try to push it so i can go to bed earlier, etc. i also rest / eat before doing strength exercises when i get home.

i will def do legs tonight as i shouldn't wait...and you are motivating me to try for upper tonight, too....

i appreciate your questions..

i am not very good at pushing myself to get things done in more timely a manner.

 8/31/21 - Tuesday - upper body weights in evening, will do legs tomorrow AM.

public trans in morning...reallly want to...we shall see... :)- yes I did it! (Also this means i have done a good bit of cardio today overall)

Took bus / train success ! will put down 30 min for AM / 30 min for PM for taking public trans. and i read. this is why it's worth it, despite the early wake-up; i am more productive this way than at home trying to read. Also it saves gas, miles on my car; and tolls.

I will be trying to motivate myself to continue using public trans maybe 1x per week, or more,  each week in September.  I could save quite a bit in tolls if i did it everyday (save potentially at least 100 a month)...but then  i have to change my bedtime i think. Also once school starts, the roads are going to be jam-packed - another reason to take the train most of the way rather than drive in.

been waking up all night the past two nights bc i've been drinking a lot / eating before bed so needing to use the bathroom. still, i'm getting by pretty well since i slept so much on the weekend the nighttime wakeups haven't affected me too much. I'll make up for it hopefully Wednesday night, the latest, by getting to bed early. Taking public trans, although needing to get up early, was nice. I got some reading in. not a ton, but enough to make it worth it. i read the Energy Bus book that i'm 2/3 done with. :) def a motivating type of book.

Hey, you did it!!! And I can see why: you have really good reasons to take public transportation all the time, BUT I do understand why you don't. That is to say, you also have really good reasons to drive, as well. I think the 1x a week goal is a good start. And if it goes further, great. If not, that's OK too. My motto lately is "you gotta at least try" or some variation of that (such as "It doesn't hurt to ask.").

i want to try harder bc it's good training for my body...rather than simply drive in everyday.

if i took tolls both ways, daily, i'd save $200 per month by taking public transit...

but it's better than driving daily which gets old / boring on the longer commute home.

I would also observe that if you are tired tonight, because of the earlier and more physical commute this morning, go to bed. Put aside the weights for now, and get some sleep. Think about it and do an honest evaluation of how you feel tonight.

i am always tired after work, but i do feel in the mood to push thru weights, upper only, will not push to do lower even though it can be done fast (just too much to think about)...i'd like to get it done so i can rest tomorrow fully...

the good thing about public trans is i can get home basically the same time as if i drive home; as long as i don't add in extra walking on top of the minimum...

so, that's why i didn't say 25 years but that's what it would have been, yes, since 13. i believe it's the amount that grew since 2008..

That account was in there while the interest rates were good...that was lucky....no days that isn't happening sadly. Not sure but my guess is that the course wanted to get assurance that you were understanding what plagiarism is and that you are agreeing to not plagerize...the reason you had to check the box to continue.....if you go back...read it again and this time check the box it may just work.

it wouldn't let me check it; some boxes you can check and some the course must check for you after you go thru the material. some tech glitch. i also wonder if it happened for anyone else... but yes, the reason i couldn't go on was due to the box not getting checked after i submitted the agreement for no plaigarism..

I hope you get your school account reset or unlocked. How discouraging. It's too bad that this didn't happen last Thursday, so that perhaps you would have Friday to get this fixed before the weekend. Perhaps if it's fixed today, you can do some reading tonight, to keep moving forward. I hope you get the extension you requested.

Do you have a 401K? You could start there. That’s how I started, managing my husband’s. Used to check periodically before I took over & it started going down because of these conservation bonds he had. So I put it all into tech stocks & it went up 33% that first year.

ohhh....good idea. i guess i can "watch stocks." i do have a 401k though i do not have a LOT of leeway as to how to invest it...will look into it later again maybe try to get your advice. i should look again as it has lost money on and off during the pandemic indeed.

  • call to get forms for taking money out of an account - have around 3500k money for college savings in a special account i've had - still by my dad / under his name and it's leftover, unused.I believe i cannot use it to reimburse my studies i did last summer in 2020 for the paralegal initial certification but anything paid in 2021 should be ok. it's a new york state college savings fund type of thing my parents put money into starting when i was 13.  it was invested in some stocks and has grown from a leftover amound of around $750 over the years since college / grad school ended  (around 15 yrs) to $3500. Only way to get the money out tax free is for using it for the course study reimbursement on this years payments. will be working on this.

snacks small mini banana 50 if that; blueberries 100; lots of these corn crackers that have really low cals may be a mistake by 50% off. anyways, around 150 cals and they were good for a tortilla made of chickpea/corn/pea flours. was microwaving a meal and the circuit breaker went off - so waiting for maintenance to switch it on bc i do not have access to the breaker in the hall locked closet.  300..

Lunch: once microwave is working again when circuit is switched on ...micrwave meal..pasta/cauli/mac and cheese. is ok. change of pace flavors. healthy ingredients. 350.

ASKED FOR AN EXTENSION TO DO WORK NEXT WEEKEND THAT IS DUE THIS WEDNESDAY BC I'M BEING FULLY BLOCKED OUT OF SEEING 95% OF THE MATERIAL...TIME TO MOVE ONTO A WEIGHTS WORKOUT....

(was going to skip working out with weights;  but, now that i cannot do the coursework, i figure this isn't the time to skip a workout just yet).

..i don't mind staying home today, friend asked to also for beach instead next week (fine with me) so i cooked yesterday and relaxed more knowing i can do my studies today for the business law course. so far; i am reviewing sample contract / documents related to business with diff types of companies/artists also.

maybe light cardio exercise; 1hr: stroll to supermarket; got some things; and back :) DONE!

today  -  a supermarket visit (only need fruit/veg/seltzer/cheese). and picked up a few more misc items on sale DONE!

ha! so i got thru the whole intro of the course...and for some reason i took this plaigarism "quiz" but it's not like you actually get points that lead to a grade that affects my overall business law grade. however, if there's no check mark on the plaigiarism quiz, it looks like it wasn't done. and this is what happened to me - and i've been blocked now from seeing the rest of the course! i had to send a letter to the instructor and site manager that i cannot do the homework i planned to do today and that i will need an extension until next Monday to finish the work due wednesday as i cannot be expected to do the work during the work week when i'm being accidentally blocked from the materials due to a technical error on part of the course!

when you left your message above; i was like "wow, she is a smart cookie!" you'd have been a wonderful teacher. and this is why i am sure you are a wonderful mother and wife! you are so smart, J!

My mother in law loved ham hocks...she couldn't wait for my father in law to go deer hunting...because that is the only time she had her ham hocks....I've never tried them...I suspect she just warmed them up...I saw them in the store the other day...not tempted though.
