10am: wrap 60, mostly egg white 30, spread 100, grilled veggies 100. 300.

1pm lunch: pepperoni jerky 70, 1/2 avocado 160 with garlic, salt, pepper, wrap 60. 300, cauliflower crackers with nacho cheese flavor 120, tea drink.

shower soon and reading at library i think, i'll just get there early so i'm not rushing and read

coffee and bar, coconut water total here 300, banana 120

dinner: a full meal, so tasty, wrap 120, avocado 160, salt and pepper, egg white only 20, and grilled veggies in some oil and balsamic 150, chips 150. 600

total around 2250, fine! healthy eats!


Off to watch a free library dance performance later today starting at 3pm for an hour, then i am off to the gym!  Same tomorrow, my plan is to go to another free library dance perforamance and tomorrow it's in a really nice library full size auditorium. Today, it'll be my first time at this particular library, so i do not know what to expect or what kind of performance room this show will be held in...but i like the town it's being held. It's called Sunnyside, in Queens. Tomorrow i'll be closer to home, in Flushing, Queens  (which is my zip code, so definitely closer).

Today's performance is Bollywood Dance. And tomorrow's performance is Flamenco dance.

Using my slow cooker this afternoon to cook some big halves of Kabocha squash i had bought (also called spanish pumpkin, low calorie thing). i'm flavoring it as dessert with cinnamon and butter mix. and sf granular sugar. recipe calls for cooking on low 6-8 hours - should taste awesome later after all that time cooking!


Happy Saturday! Woke up really early, 7am! Ready to be productive at least right now finishing up my taxes and waiting to see if any other docs come in the mail before i submit my taxes, nice and early ahead of the mid-April deadline :) Also seeing about opening another PayPal Account as i learned of a really great way to add points to my credit card by transferring funds between Credit Card and Paypal accounts. That's my advice, if you want more credit card points :)  Going thru my credit cards, choosing the one i will mostly use this year and putting the others away for an emergency (no emergencies though!). 

I've input all my tax info to Turbo Tax online, ready to file. Overpaid to use Turbo Tax accidentally.  I should have bought the tools on Amazon for 49.99 with PC online Install. Instead, I paid on the Turbo Tax Intuit site separately by accident for Federal and state, each 39.99. so i paid $80 instead of $50. and i do not want to do it all again after doing it a couple hours last night already. So, instead of deleting all my info and starting again, I'm paying the $80. I'll still wait till March until I actually send this in, in case i receive any last minute tax documents in the mail :)

you can always eat more (veggies) haha. :) if you are constantly having a raging appetite, eat more. one meal a day at least should be very satisfying.

I'm wanting to get taxes behind me too but still waiting for a couple of things first. I think they have until the end of Feb to mail them. I usually end up doing ours in March.

I order the Turbo Tax CD Deluxe which comes with federal and 1 state, instead of a download. I file the Cd along with my files for the year every year and that way if we ever get audited I can recheck it myself before the audit. I love working with turbo tax, we have never been audited. But I like the CD in my posession and in my files. I pay between 45$ and 50$ yearly from Amazon.

wrap 60, half avocado (heavier on fats in AM i like, unlike LEGCRAMPS! haha) 150, 3 thin slices salami 50, smoked salt. unlike some people, i like to add some salt. it makes me feel good and has health benefits. I am NOT salt free :) coffee 50. 

snack: prob the coconut chocolate bar from atkins :P or a Quest Hero bar, but it causes gas which could be bad before a date, LOL. 250

lunch: out and paid for by J. GREAT lunch tofu 100, greens, some parm cheese again!, dried cranberries, some squash, some kale. all good. 500 total and

3pm a snack of 2 chocolates 100, 100 in almonds, clementine 50

coffee on walk home :) 50

dinner: wrap 60, tofu 100, leftover grilled veggies takeout 200, from coworker: hummus spread - SO GOOD! 50?. total here: 450, tasty! and a small yogurt with cooked cranberries 100. 550 total :)

2050 :) very successful day, healthy week food-wise.



I have a third lunch date with this guy. I get to choose the restaurant every single time. He likes HEALTHY! Today, we are going to a cute place called The Little Beet. Tons of veggies and roasted ones!  I have a feeling he'll like it.  The other two times out we first went to a buffet and second time was a bar with good salads. so this time is a mix, sorta in the middle, and no wait time for service since it's Chipotle style...and seated afterwards.

Woke up with still a hair of congestion.  Bc i took PM cold meds, i could have slept longer and was still tired waking up.  I'm glad i did NOT exercise last night. :)

yes, my favorite! i also love their peanut butter cups -the atkins brand. just like reese's minus the sugar...like a "fat bomb"...i'm going to start bringing them to the office for a an afternoon treat.

I don't mind adding avocado as a fat, but I was feeling sluggish from bacon fat. I must admit there were a couple of days there were I added both fats to the same meal, so maybe that had something to do with it too!

it's true, doesn't need to be a lot of fat extra or a lot of protein in meals. lately, i'm skipping the egg in my breakfast and just keeping extra avocado with a little, LITTLE, serving of salami. less is more these days for me, too.

yeah, maybe you needed LESS on the bacon. just a little bit not a whole serving.

Kombucha, not much, 50 cal but really not even that much :)

Breakfast: wrap 60, half avocado 160, 2 thin slices salami 40, smoked salt and pepper. matcha and milk, stevia, 50. 310...and some really taste cake from Ukraine that is very dry like a merangue and amazing with a few nuts. it's called Kiev, like the place it's from in Ukraine. 100-150. the cake looks like this, but no chocolate topping, it was all white/light color with small hazelnuts, photo here.  it's like a fancy merangue cookie with some hazelnut frosting. amazing.


Snack: have one of those new Quest Hero bars that i ike a lot and are surprisingly just under 200 cal. highly recommend this protein bar. but it does cause more gas, this bar...something to keep in mind, a little bit.

Lunch: from home, same as all week which is veggies with a little pesto (smaller serving) and tofu (also smaller serving). total here: 400., tomatoes 50. 450..

snacks: clementine very ripe 50, pitachios 150, chocolate 100. 300.

Dinner: yogurt and cranberries 200, spread 150 and crackers 170. 520...and more crackers. 600


6day 2086

no exercise tonight i've decided to keep the resting and sleep early....at least i did the cardio all week. 

Planning to take maybe the slow local train home (based on how crowed the express train is)...because i am enjoying this book and just want to relax...outta the office, away from the computer.


I'll get a really good exercise session in Saturday, to get a  head start on the exercise and not have to wait until Sunday since i will not be working out at all this week...really may change my mind though, I"M THINKING TO EXERCISE TONIGHT! :) 

If i can continue to feel better as the day goes on...

Last night i slept thru the night but my nose was clogged in the morning and the back of my throat was a bit mucosy...but now all better...i am sleeping lots of really don't wanna skip tonight's workout. 

Once again, it's how i feel...really not in the mood to keep skipping. but working out when sick is also not a good idea...

I hear you about maybe changing your mind about exercising tonight; I am doing the same thing right now. I think we must be in the same boat - clogged sinuses is where it's at LOL.

it's been a real struggle to maintain using the same weights and not lighter ones since December it's been a challenge, but i guess i'll just work on it like i always do...and things will get better as Spring arrives :)

at least i was looking super in Miami and got all the photos i could ever want of myself then :-) ....things will improve for both of us when Spring arrives.

Snacks - had them at lunch and lunch will be later at like 2 or 3pm: I will eat my grapefuit 100- coworker not here and a slow day so i'll have time to peel it and eat it thru the afternoon :); almonds 100 

2pm Lunch: healthy from home: leftover veggies more along the lines of peas/beans/corn bigger serving at least a cup 200, and tofu 150 (more than one serving) and some pesto 100? to cover the poor flavor of the veggies. approx 500 and really healthy.

3pm snack 1 milky way dark 50 smallest size

4pm 100 cal salted almonds, yum.

 1550...until home :) 

Dinner: still light - hankering for cooked cranberries (maybe half a package) 100 and yogurt..decided on a full meal for dinner 600.

2150 healthy Cals today and the 3mi walk home :)

no real exercise besides my commute and possible walking at lunch. - walked at commute and lunch....starting to consider walking after work for part of the commute...and buying a decaf coffee to enjoy on the walk :) yeah.....starting to feel a little bit better and prefer to move around than be sitting all commute...i'll update to say if i've done part of the commute long walk from subway...air isn't too cold out, like 40F, which is why i'm not wanting to stop the fitness completely, plus it burns calories!



Thankfully, I was able to sleep deeply thru the night and would have kept sleeping if not for my alarm!  I'm gald i didn't wake up like the night before to blow my nose for an hour. Still, i am sick and realize i will not be doing any exercise yet and allowing myself instead to sleep early again tonight so i can get rid of this cold.  I took a better medicine last night to counteract the sneezing and runny nose which weren't symptoms the other medicine was covering the night before - oops!  At least i'm on the right track now!

I had cooked cranberries tonight as well! I think they helped top off the meal since they are "sweet" (even though mine are sugar free).

Breakfast: wrap 60, 1/2 avocado (focusing on adding enough health into meals right now) 150, 2 thin salami slices 50, smoked salt and pepper. 260. coworker gave me a bag of matcha powder to make teas. I'll be using this instead of coffee until i finish the bag. with stevia and milk :) 50. 310, one chocolate 50., and another matcha with milk 50.

snack: very tasty strawberry granola pure protein bar breakfast square. so good.! 200

lunch: healthy, from home: tofu 150, veggies 150, pesto 150, salt and vinegar chips 200. 650.

snack: grapefruit that needs eating!; almonds: 100

Dinner: will be lighter side and bed early - some tofu but not too much 50?, 1/4 cauliflower crust 50, ginger drink 20, other plant drink 30...feel like i'm forgetting something? what did i miss writing here?..250 tops, it seems. also popcorn chips.

4 day: 2080 per day. EXCELLENT.


Glad i had cold meds for daytime and nightime in my apt and i was able to use them as soon as i felt sick yesterday...makes the healing process easier.


 Had trouble sleeping due to a cold and blowing my nose all night... I really didn't think i'd wake up Monday with a cold since i slept so much on weekend (although didn't sleep great last week). i guess so many factors play in when you get sick!  at least for now it's only a cold. no workout Tonight, that's for sure.

I hope you feel better soon. Please focus on that until you get rid of the congestion. Please try to stay warm. I feel like breathing in the cold air makes things worse. (That's probably not true, now that I think about it.)

YES, this is the same way i got sick last year. After a week of the drastically cold "tundra" weather, i got sick. Last year it was early January. So i'm glad this year i made it to February before getting sick at all. So i guess Florida was worth it for that!

Yeah, not doing a workout tonight, it would be very stupid as i'm sick and i know, from experience, it makes things worse :(

I like several.

One brand is always on sale, in dark brown bottles by me, called Kevita Kombucha. I like the price. it has stevia and is super flavorful, but also has caffeine.

I have always loved Synergy brand / GT's kombucha brand. they have so many flavors and definitely watch the sugar in them. this brand is probably the most natural of them all and been around one of the longest.

those above are my two favorites and to stop the boredom i do try other brands when i can. some other brands are just overpriced so i don't try them as often.

I also like Dr. Brew flavors, but, the top doesn't seal back on so if you don't finish the drink in one sitting is gets annoying to seal it tightly again in the fridge!

10am almonds 50

snack: TBD, prob protein bar. bhu fit tasty apple cinnamon and nutmeg bar pretty natural 200

lunch: leftovers, tasty: tofu 150, veggies (lima beans, peas, carrots, corn 250?) with pesto sauce 150. clementine 50. 600

snacks: i have these too ripe fruits with me, a grapefruit and a clementine. i'll eat them both this afternoon; grapefruit 100, almonds 50, 2 cough drops 50.

Decaf coffee on walk - did most of it but used the bus towards the end )

Light dinner toight and early bed.6oz blackberries around 100, protein bar 230, and unsweetened almond milk with pumpkin pie spice and stevia. around 350, perfect.

1950, execellent. took some liquid cold medicine, bed soon :) around 8-8:30pm.

3day: 2166, much better.


Exercise Thoughts based on how i am feeling later today and tomorrow:

I have a cold with irritation in my throat and sneezing / minor congestion.

Looking to nip it in the bud so i can continue with weight training tomorrow night...if i am feeling at all sicker or even still with this cold, i will have to skip the exercise tomororw night...And take a day off this week to rest and get this cold out of the way.

If i feel ok tonight, i'll still do the hour walk home from the subway because temps have warmed and i haven't done any walking / cardio since Friday...this i plan to keep in the mix for tonight.

The worst is trying to stay on top of fitness but getting sicker. Then in the end, you end up missing more gym and being more sick - so trying to make good, MODERATE choices.


Woke up with a cold, but, was eager for some reason to get outta bed and i did a quick cleaning of my shower / tub and bathroom sink before i showered and got ready for the day!!!! success! it feels SO GOOD to have cleaned it!  It was on the backburner too long and I feel so much better now having it cleaned for the next month or so, lol. 

Progress as of today: 1 lbs lost so far, only 1 lbs to go!

Don't be like me and continue working out when you really should be resting instead. I know it's hard, but you won't lose any fitness by taking an extra rest day this week.

And now, I should listen to my own advice LOL

Good Morning! Up by 7am but in bed around 10pm. nice sleep for me!!

Breakfast: Onyxorgum cold cereal 2 cups 240, with craisins 130, and almond milk 300, stevia and cinnamon. total here: 400. Protein bar 220 (wasn't great) and an iced coffee 50.

10:30 - 11am snacks - half cauliflower crust 90 with good serving of parm pesto 100. 200; no cal drinks...hamster cage is done, some cleaning done, next is some reading. i always have trouble focusing on reading at home since i do it so well now on my commutes, but this Colin Powell Autobiograhy is sooo long (over 600 pages) that i'm having trouble even reaching page 300 and i want to get onto a another book sometime soon (by the end of this month!) :) his book is great, highly recommend! 80 cal drink and cauliflower crust 80

noon: wrap 90 with 1/4 lg avocado 100, salt/pepper, 1/2 can sardines 80. 270, apple 100.

before gym and at gym: 400 healthy ones 

dinner after gym: veggies with pesto  = perfect 200, and a small wrap with 1/2 can sardines, mustard and ketchup 200. 400. and a small snack of half a low cal bread. 60.

I was thinking to do some outdoor cardio, also, but changed my mind as i'm feeling a bit tired and will just rest most of today.

Today's only focus is the gym.

I'm going to plan for gym as my afternoon plan, shortly after lunch, around 1:00pm i 'll go so that i can come back early tonight from there and get to bed early again = good start to this week!

No cardio today. Another rest day with cardio happening tomorrow after work, my typical hour (3mi) walk home. :-P and it'll be much warmer :)

Also, i'm going to "plan" my meals for the week better by making all my wraps TODAY for breakfasts and also thinking about my lunches.  I have to throw some food out today because i had too much laying around last week and didn't finish it all (poor planning but also several unplanned coworker/date/meeting lunches at work - 3 to be exact out of the 5 days so food got wasted of my own since they all involved eating what was catered or going out to a restaurant which was enjoyable, no doubt!).


So the 46yo Jason that i've been on two lunch dates with - they've both gone well, but, it seems he's very preoccupied on weekends and doesn't text at all. It's kinda actually a good thing, although it bothers me, because i'm still getting acclimated myself after this trip.  I am not even going to superbowl with friends bc my bigger priority is for an excellent workout session and without having to rush from that to them (they live like 45 min away so it's not so easy to just go!).  So, it's good he's not texting as i am preoccupied too, but, anyhow, it's nice to get a text and i wonder if he's thinking of me at all...or if he's interested to date again. Of course, i would date again as it's a great experience and he's a nice guy.  I'd get to know him more.  I don't think it'd ever become serious with him, though.

I hate doing laundry, but I love everything being clean so it's a 'suck and it up and do it' kind of task for me :)

One of the things I was and am still really grateful for with BF, is we always text each other good morning. Nothing wrong with sending him one text over the weekend to let him know you are thinking of him! In my opinion, whether one is preoccupied or not - taking a few seconds to text or connect with someone you're interested in or dating - should be something you (or he) wouldn't have a problem taking the time to do.

9am Light Breakfast: 6 oz blackberries 80 and the rest of a no calorie amino acid drink Bang - no caffeine cotton candy flavor. :)  - chocolate 50

10:30am veggies not the best quality precooked at supermarket but very inexpensive - I’ll put a save in them - maybe some Indian if I swing by to get it later 100, wrap 120, egg 80, salami 50, mustard ..small fruit chew and iced coffee at home - gonna read and relax and forget about chores like laundry and buying kombucha. Rest day right now.

Noon almond joy and seltzer 100, ice cream 100

3pm meal before driving to parent's to see them, sister and her hubby and baby, full meal: heated up cauliflower crust 200, with half avocado 160 and some pesto sauce 100. total here: 450 in tasty health. and one salami 20. 500. and a fancy low cal drink.

Cookie 200, taco shells 200, meat 250, avocado 100, oil 50, beans 100, veggies 200. 1100

i thought i'd be more around 2250-2300...but didn't really watch close enough. at least the food was tasty and mostly in moderation.



ok by noon and after my shower I am feeling better :) laundry is in the washers and I am still reading. Will run a few errands when laundry is drying to pick up kombucha and drop off one of my winter jackets to be fixed and buy Stamps :)




Slept in till around 9am, may go back to bed after a snack :) not rushing thru this weekend, just minimal tasks & i'm happy...today i'm going to see my parents and my sister/husband and the baby. so, that's the big event. no super bowl party as today is the social activity and tomorrow is laundry and gym...less is more this weekend! 

I do need to pick up some kombucha this weekend though.

Not watching the Superbowl this year. Just feel like the whole thing is a fraud, and I'm so sick of Tom Brady. Not even the commercials or half-time show can entice me this year.

Last brand i like is called Chilly Cow. Very nice flavors and one whole container only contains a cup instead of 2 cups...so it's easier to stay within calories...because the containers are half the size of a pint.

Big Wrap Breakfast: wrap 120, 1/2 a nicely ripened avocado (must be a couple more as the health benefits are so vast and important especially right now with Winter!) 160, egg 70, 1 pc salami 20, coffee 50. 420.

Snack: bar of some sort...200...soooo good the new Quest Hero ! Blueberry cobbler. very nice consistancy like a dessert.

Lunch:  550 very balanced, even some feta cheese, salad, grilled shrimp, some bread. olives. good stuff,

later 4 mentos candies 40, almonds 60 (pretty good date)

Dinner: I have so many leftovers still, i defrosted a veggie soup i made on Sunday and STILL haven't tried it...that's for tonight...coworker also gave me a dinner i might have tonight...or save for Monday's lunch!   apple 100, Onyxorgum cereal with cinnamon and stevia in almond milk 250. quest protein bar 200. 550.

Probably early to bed and sleep most of tomorrow morning as my sleep hasn't been enough & i don't want to be getting sick. I may take a sleeping pill to knock out, as i've been doing it seems weekly...yup took it :)



Prepared today to do the walk home in the 20F weather, i brought in my bag two packages both of the hand warmers and foot warmers. Those pads you stick in your gloves and shoes that last like 8 hours.  I'll be using them for my hour walk home tonight :) As i DO want to get the long walk in. Hving those warmers, the walk shouldn't be very difficult tonight at all. :)  If i didn't have the warmers, there's little chance i'd opt to walk 3mi in the 20F weather after work today.

Also today, I'm meetng that man for a lunch date again. His name is Jason. He's 46 and i'm 36. I want to defitely know how many kids he has, if it's more than the two i know of. And their names.

lunch date, i want to either order a salad somewhere OR go to buffet again (since it'll be like 18 degrees, i can sorta forecase that we'll do the same thing as last week - but this time he's paying for drinks (at a buffet where there's no free water) and i will not take waters out from work for him and myself lol)....although, if it weren't a date, i totally would do it again bc that's me...REALLY FRUGAL.

Also for the lunch date, i have a pimple on my chin so i did bring makeup to apply before we meet, later.

Sounds like a lovely lunch date :) and I would probably be frugal with the water too! Actually, I probably wouldn't even go to a restaurant that doesn't serve free water, but that's partly because there's no such thing where I live 8D

My BF has FOUR kids! He was a busy boy back in the day!!! LOL

Did you get to bed early as planned? I went to bed SO late last night, and yet managed to be only 10 minutes short of my daily sleep goal, waking up at my normal time.

yeah, i was in bed well before 9pm and def got around 12 hours of sound sleeping. didn't even need to go back to bed / sleep more after that :) feeling great today.

snack: def a bar ...i have a LOT of interesting new flavors and brands i picked up last night at Duane Reade pharmacy before taking transportation home :) treated myself ;) haha :) New type of Quest Bar, called QUEST HERO. 200.

Lunch: more leftovers from both yesterday and today :) i think i forgot the meat part...but i do have a beef jerky :) so we're good...600 very large volume and healthy / balanced with really tasty things and coworker gave me pinapple...but this lunch truly upset my stomach...thankful to go home early and use the bathroom

snacks: snickers really small piece and lifesavers 50, another bite size snickers 50

On my way home: coffee (to go cup from work!)  and a snack bar - prob the last of my not so great brown rice krispie treats: it was so cold so i just went straight home - after stopping by a supermarket for some coconut water that's $1 per large can. protein / superfoods bar 260 and coffee 40. 300.

during workout: coconut water or i'll pick up bananas, not sure which....!!....must do this at lunch i'll get a banana?...so far clementines and cooked cranberries 100, coconut water 2 large cups 150, large apple 100

after workout: TBD...bar, 250.

6day: 2145, good.

workout took around 3 hours but i did some cleaning during it, so that's good...wasn't an uninterrupted workout, seems better this way, actually.


 leaving work early at 4pm...because i stayed late yesterday (no OT payments anymore)...WORKOUT TONIGHT :) and i'll end early since i'm starting it early!!!

Sounds like a great day! Hope you got your workout in; I had a hard time with mine yesterday - my calves are super sore from a brick workout I did a couple days ago!
