12:45pm NOW :) I've decided to start up the ladder exercises again today as i've been purposely doing less on weekends to give myself a rest and time to do what is most important lately including exercise and more cooking. just not rushing thru weekends like previous years :)

Tonight I'm going into the city meeting my friend at 5:30pm which means i need to leave my apt around 4pm since there can be train delays on weekends. we are seeing an Off Broadway show called Drunk Shakespeare. it's an hour and half, no intermission, over by 7:30pm which is good because afterwards we are going out to an Indian restaurant nearby that also has Hookah (not a drug). Looking forward to seeing this friend - we haven't met up since January when she flew to Florida to meet me for the last weekend i was down there at my other friend's house!

I do in fact figure my ankle WILL ALWAYS be somewhat of a pain that comes and goes after the fracture i had i do not think it will ever work great...but i do know that also continuing to add leg muscle and doing exercises that strengthen my leg muscles will help me to compensate for a weak ankle!

volume i like at home, but at work in the morning it would just send me stomach issues lol.
I admit i have been VERY LUCKY this year. since January, i can see it's been a year of the least work politics, least problems, and just the best environment i've ever had for this many months at a time without a change. i do admit though, i can tell it's the calm before the storm because this project only has 1yr to 1.5yrs...so i am being positive and keeping on with my goals :)

I AM SUPER EXCITED FOR SOME OF THE UPCOMING PLANS I HAVE FOR THIS SUMMER!!! FROM SHOWS AND CONCERTS TO ALL AROUND FUN....GOING TO A LOT OF NEW VENUES, SEEING A LOT OF NEW THINGS! SUPER HAPPY NOW! AND ALSO GETTING IN FITNESS. IT'S A REALLY AWESOME SUMMER I HAVE PLANNED!!!
In the next couple weeks alone, i'm seeing two shows - one off broadway and one is a comedian singer with orchestra background, smoking hookah lol, seeing multiple friends, going to the beach, and doing another 5k!!!! what an awesome JULY!
and very early next month, I'm attending a FREE organ concert at The Riverside Church which is northern Manhattan near Harlem but a really, really well known church with tons of contributions to music and the arts - with also a preconcert before the organ concert that on another instrument. I'm SUPER HAPPY.
This has been a summer, finally, where i've really embraced music again and seeing multiple shows of it and the performing arts. I need this in my life. It's my whole upbringing and I value it so much. It's definitely made me very happy to write about it.

Kombucha 50 - drank it rushed so it didn't work out that well for me, but it tasted GREAT! (i have stopped drinking kombucha on the weekend, favoring iced coffee instead as a change of pace / little bit of money savings / resting from kombucha everyday)

Last night i had a lot of trouble sleeping for most of the night. I think it's because after having 4 days off I was anxious going back to work. either way, i'm glad i did sleep well for 4 days :) Plus, i'm ready for this week ahead !
I did accidentally forget all vitamins and UTI pill to have with lunch which is unfortunate as it needs to be taken twice a day and would have been better to get the antibiotic in my system now after breakfast or lunch and then take the second pill with dinner. oops. forgot the second lunch bag. ah well. i'll have it when i get home tonight and maybe just end the cycle of these pills a day later than i should have. that's all. no biggie.

This month i'm thankful for the ability to have been able and being able later in the month to take part in a vast and variety of experiences. from concerts to shows and not only 1 of each, to seeing friends and even probably going to the beach, my life will not be dull this month. I may be taking a relief from not training as hard, but at least i am using the time to be productive in other ways and that's what matters to me right now - since no matter what i did need a break from the cardio - at least i can continue to live life and not be so injured that even life becomes a pain (happened in the past).

i have a lot of events this month! It's a tight, FUN schedule.
i shouldn't have any OT...and everything at work should be running smoothly. I am challenged to enjoy this month and weather and fun times ahead! (with keeping up at least my weights routine and slowly getting back into more cardio).
I'll just sleep in when i can & I should be fine. Seems that i need a break from cardio training anyway...so, it'll be nice to see some entertaining shows. Most are at a discount, some previously were free. I was def interested in everything i have signed up for, have been wanting to go to either the show or venue for awhile. It does add up, but i know i'll enjoy it all!.....

Today: 11:30am we are Going to Resorts Casino here in Queens around 45 min away. Watching the Soccer Championship there. R reallly wanted to go - and my company did all the lighting designs there a few years ago when it opened, so i'm interested to see it in person.

Next Saturday evening going to see the Off Broadway show Drunk Shakespeare - a parody on a Shakespeare play & supposely the actors drink shots before they perform!? weird but it was a good deal, $29 for the tickets instead of the usual Groupon free of $49-$59. with my friend Jen
2 weeks from now Saturday evening: seeing a performance at a local Queens Stadium in Forest Hills that includes a Comedian / Singer with backup music done by the Queens Symphony Orchestra...the guy is funny and there's an orchestra, plus i've never been to the venue! everything is good here! with Ricky

The Popeyes was fresh today and the chicken fingers I really enjoyed !!! Not too oily and big and flakey ! The fries were nice too as they have some light Cajun seasoning on them.
3:30pm swung by urgent care bc it feels like I have a UTI --- good i went to dr - i was prescribed medicine for it - she said it was just starting up.

after dinner we plan to watch a movie at one of our apts! and bed not too late and not too early!

(thrift stores and sneaker outlet store - for him) on Long Island (everything is around 45 min away)- along with a dinner at a hibachi place also on LI and the dinner will be HALF PRICE literally. I have $25 coupon!! So, basically it's going to cover my half, i'll pay tip, and Ricky can pay for his dinner :) I treated him yesterday - i do not scrub cash off him, i know he works hard and isn't rich, and i do not like to be this way to others, anyone!
tomorrow Hookah is cancelled until next Saturday :) that's ok! my friend said she wasn't keeping track and messed up her schedule for the weekend which is OK with me - i'm def seeing her next Saturday for a $29 off broadway show called Drunk Shakespeare (the actors drink before the performance, lol) in Manhattan's theater district and hookah if we make good plans we can do both early enough in the day...
tomorrow, stopping by a local Farmer's market, buying more berries and maybe a few other items there, NO exercise again (no ladder !), baking a "honey" cake for coworkers - praying it comes out right (it will only have maple syrup flavoring haha)...and possibly really more laundry??? if it can help me with next weekend's busier schedule...maybe laundry.

10:30am decided i wanted something more substantial so i hate my friend's meatballs that she made and gave me yesterday. they were very good with lots of ingredients beyond just meat. i'm guessing 120 cal each. 250. could even be a bit more, but, just saying!

Yes, I remember the news mentioning the black out...did it last long and did they find out what the cause of it was?
it lasted from around 6:45pm until midnight when all areas were basically restored and it was caused by a transformer fire! I'm thinking it was due to it being very hot in summer and everyone using electricity, but not sure if my guess is the truth! but, it was def a transformer fire. it did cause a headache to many people in midtown.

OK, I have to ask this: the doctor's office is open on a SUNDAY????? (I've been meaning to ask you this for the longest time.)
yeah! a couple sundays i think per month they are open. And, i think they are CLOSED on SATURDAYS! who knows why!
but, being that I live in a very, very Metropolitan city, Queens, stores and drs offices tend to have more of a variety of hours. especially this derm office - it also has late night hours during the week. good place. :)
not everyone can get to a dr office near their home during the week, so most places do have some kinda weekend hours if they are a busy clinic like a dermatology group. there's 3 main dermatologists there, so i guess you can ccall it a pretty big sized office for dermatology. one dr works on weekends along with another one that comes in only for the weekends.
