BearCountryGG on 11/25/2019:
Is the overnight nut cereal like overnight oats?

horn_of_plenty on 11/25/2019:
I will look up the brand later - it’s goood bc it’s seeds and nuts making it low carb high fat and I make it with almond milk. It also has chia seeds like a chia pudding or light drink

Horn_of_plenty on 11/25/2019:
its by high key snacks and called keto oatmeal. its more like liquidy chia pudding.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/25/2019:
keto instant hot cereal.

BearCountryGG on 11/25/2019:
Oh...Thanks for looking that up...I've heard of that brand before.....I will check it out.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/26/2019:
i tried the strawberry one. it's tasty. i add stevia for more sweetening. it doesn't get "fluffy and thick" like oatmeal....so, the portion size they write on the package is small when you make it. it's good with other food for breakfast, like making sure you are having coffee or a yogurt or fruit with it.

Donkey on 11/26/2019:
I did not realize that you have your program this week.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/26/2019:
just Monday ...so it's over now!

Weight: 110.0

AM: ARM WORK at my apt with my weights - we'll see what my abilities are with my own weights in comparison to what i was doing at my parent's house with their weights.  my legs still feel a bit tired so i will not be doing any legs. for now on with legs, it'll be more when i feel like it, even 1x a week may be enough when i feel that's all i can do.  just cannot push legs :)

6:3am breakfast pb chocolate protein muffin with extra dark sf Lily's chocolate chips added 320, kombucha. 60..400. hot tea.

9:30am snack: dark chocolate chips 100

2200? - lol - It mihght be a hair lower, but, i was trying for less and unfortunately got VERY hungry late in the night around the time i had the apple and just ate more than expected at dinner because of it, but, calorie-wise you see i tried.

Today's activities: - full schedule...

take floor measurements for new rugs myself....

drive (no bus) to Lunch in flushing since parking is free sundays

Korean Dance at 2pm

drive to get  new apt rugs Kohls / TJ Maxx / Flushing stores: 1 runner for in front bathroom size approx, rug in front of entrance door size approx, 1 rug in foyer size approx, 1 rug in bedroom next to bed SIZE approx:

put cage together with Ricky - or do some myself...

I somehow weigh 110 despite all the heavier eating. but that's 110 right when i get up in the AM, no food, emptied.  may also be lost muscle, actually, in combo with any fat loss.  ususally, i'd be between 112-114 in the morning.

i actually don't feel as low as 110 but i guess that's what it is. clothes don't even fit like 110,but my home scale doesn't lie and i'll take it.!

Progress as of today: 4 lbs lost so far, only -3 lbs to go!

BearCountryGG on 11/24/2019:
There's no place like home...enjoy!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/24/2019:
it's been wonderful!!!!!!!! up early getting laundry done...feels like i have extra energy and time today...plus it's so much WARMER here than at my parents' cold house!!!! HAHA

Donkey on 11/25/2019:
"Just cannot push legs" - 100% correct. I think that accepting this, using this as your foundation for whatever happens in life, will serve you well, no matter what else happens.

Love your meals! Lots of high volume, healthy choices.

Were you able to find the rugs you were looking for? Did you assemble the cage?

horn_of_plenty on 11/25/2019:
Yes thank gosh for volume In the meals lately bc it’s helped me so much with satiety lately especially on takeout / meals out.....

Yes, I got rugs though one is too small and I may use it somewhere else - already took tags out to keep it so no returning now !!!!

I reassembled the cage too....Ricky was in my apt and motivated me and he went with me for the rugs - one of them large 5’x7’ and the rest were 2 runners and one small 2’3’ should have gotten that one :/ but it’s nice

Ooo have fun at the party!!! I saw a meme online that shows someone bringing a "vegetable" platter to a party, but the "vegetables" are actually cookies, LOL... I did think of you though, because I know that we both appreciate having vegetables at parties :-)

I'm so happy to hear that you're getting a lot of sleep. I hope that you are finding the extra sleep to be restorative and positive. (Sometimes, I use sleep to hide away from the day, if you know what I mean. Just not ready to face life on those days...) But even so, negative or positive, sleep is good for the body and the mind. It's there for a reason, right?

Horn_of_plenty on 11/24/2019:
yes,the sleep has helped.

i may be over all the sleep now...first night at my own apt, i'm up 6am! :)

Maria7 on 11/23/2019:
Glad you got caught up on rest. That is ALWAYS good.

Progress as of today: 0 lbs lost so far, only 1 lbs to go!

Happy Friday to you, too, HOP! Congrats on completing your outpatient program! Hope you have a wonderful next week with being off work and a beautiful day today.

horn_of_plenty on 11/22/2019:
Thanks Maria ! They told me to stay one more day until Monday and then I’m done ;) fine lol !!

Glad to move forward !!!

Donkey on 11/22/2019:
Happy Friday!!!!

Quite wise to have a week off between your program and then getting back into the workplace... especially with it being Thanksgiving. It sounds nice to just have that break, to regroup and be thankful for all blessings, big and small.

It is SO hard to eat according to others' ways of eating. One of the reasons I have difficulties staying at my brother's house is that they are all about carbs. Hardly a vegetable in sight, unfortunately. Same with mom, except that she is plant-based, so it's definitely healthier, although she's still doing the low-sodium thing (yuck). Anyway, just saying that I KNOW it's difficult to adjust, and I think you've done a fine job of it. Once you are home, then you'll eat the way you like to eat.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/23/2019:
yes, i'm glad to have some time off - though some is to be used as you said with family for thanksgiving and back sleeping at my parents' house from tuesday eve until Thursday as my mom would appreciate some of my help to prepare for the holiday - fine with me ;)

yes, once i'm home i think it may be a small challenge to "eat the way i eat" because i'm used to even more volume lately and bigger meals for over 1 month since at the hospital i ate more and at parents i also did for an extended time. luckily, it's no more time and any weight i gained has just brought me to a higher weight, but since i weighed slightly lower to start, it's just brought me up but not anything that is so totally uncomfortable or adjustable. THANK GOSH.

You and I both know just how difficult it is to lose a bunch of weight!

My parents did eat very healthfully and much more than most families while i was here. it's just i tend to eat smaller portions in the evening compared to them because i like to snack throughout the day. I do think it's great they eat salads usually before dinner though and it's something i can consider with my lunch more...since the program i'm at does this too (in a way - i actually usually am taking both their meals at the program - the veggie salad and there's usually an extra salad with meat that i make into a sandwich).

it's nice and healthy to have like a large salad and a sandwich...something i'm going to consider for work lunches instead of ALWAYS chips which i usually do as my carb instead of bread.

really, it's just something to think about for me - think about new options.

my way of eating is more processed than my parents actually...but i miss those treats - although as you see i found a way of trying out gummy candies that were sf and other things while here. even bars, new brands, from 7-11. so, i have eaten somewhat my way but i'm used to a smaller, (often more manufactured) dinner. i was even eating just apples large ones, with wine, for dinner sometimes. i miss the ease of eating light when home alone!

Donkey on 11/23/2019:
Funny you mention gummies because I was just thinking to myself this week how much I LOVE gummies -- and sorry, not talking about the sugar-free ones I make. I take a few vitamin supplements, and some of them are in gummy form. I take these at night, and I really look forward to my vitamin gummy "snack". I honestly think I could eat a whole big bag of them every night.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/24/2019:
i've had those gummies...once i did overeat that gummy vitamin bottle too...it's def tasty. i eat a little candy several times a week if not most days just so i can get my fix on a small amount and be happy too.

Sounds like a lovely food day if I may say so. Will you return to your apartment (to stay) over the weekend? Or will you stay at your folks' for another week(with the holiday and all)? Just curious, no judgment here.

I did group therapy at one time, but we were all consumed with our own internal storms that we just sat there, in a group, looking angry at each other.

horn_of_plenty on 11/20/2019:

Snack orange 100, chocolate 50

Dinner: large but totally very healthy. 700 approx

total today around 2100, decent.

I'm still at parents, they've got a bunch of good exercise equipment downstairs, so i can still exercise. not joining a gym at all, it's much more convenient doing it at their house, don't need special exercise clothes or anything either....that part of this works out, but, still better for me to be at my apt, with my food, i'd be eating a bit lower calories if i wasn't in hospital or at parent's house. but i do admit the food is overall healthy indeed anyway, despite higher cals. I haven't gained too much weight because i lost a couple lbs right before hospital, but now i'm borderline gaining again because i've had extended higher cals for around one month now....happy to be back at my apt soon, probably by next weekend.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/17/2019:
right !? i think so!!!! i hope you also had a GREAT start to your day, Jdonk!!!!!!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/17/2019:
i have an "online" friend from here originally, GG, but now she is online and has a "food network" online called GG Eats Celebrities. she has an air fryer and now lives in LA. She eats salmon like multiple times a week and also she air fries it at home and says it comes out great - from her photos it does come out great....the air fryer seems to not need a lot of fat to fry things, and the salmon looks in her photos to cook perfectly with its natural fats in her air fryer. i told my parents about it, not sure they'll buy one, but i had thought of her!

was your salmon frozen!?

Donkey on 11/17/2019:
I think that the salmon was fresh, but being from a restaurant, who really knows? My taste is not discerning enough to tell the difference, to be honest.

That's so cool about your online friend. I think I remember GG on here. Anyway, I've been thinking about getting a Ninja Foodie for my husband. It's an air fryer but it also can work as an InstaPot. (In my day, we called InstaPots pressure-cookers.) Quick and healthy cooking - can't go wrong with that. I love my crockpot, but you have to plan in advance with that, hence the Foodie.

horn_of_plenty on 11/17/2019:
Thanks for the good ideas! I do want an air fryer !!!
