8:30pm snack: fruit and keto brownie 350, after bike ride for a half hour. the sun is setting earlier and i realize i need a bike at  home like donkey...i will speak to my parents on Saturday to see if they use theirs, but i'll prob need to buy a used one from somewhere.

it's scary how my legs get tired so easily, i do not think i'll make court officer even if i try because just having a desk job for over 7 years has really changed me, despite the exercise i put in in the early years, then the injuries, i'd rather not think about it...i will just keep trying till i just know it's not possible. ah well....i am not giving up, but the reality doesn't really look strong.



There was a sale on chocolates at Lindt on 5th ave near my work and at lunch i bought some. they are amazing. no boring flavors and not even dark chocolate....i bought everything you can only get from Lindt - like a spring flavor where the inside is a mix tasting like either marshmallow/white chocolate, a mango flavor, a coconut flavor, a citrus and white chocolate flavor....you'll see a lot of mention on lindt truffles now. this is because i work with women who always have chocolate and i wanted flavors that are good to give them as i cannot just take their stuff and never treat them! lol. and i will enjoy my own stuff now...

if the weather holds, tonight is a bike ride.

i feel i have no time...but i guess i do....i may take this idea up...i have to give it a lot of thought. thank you for helping me think outside the box...you may be right. i think in my head, i'm discouraged and i think it's over really with thinking of court officer as a possibility....

i have still about a year on the physical aspect...please continue to help me think outside the box. i appreciate this comment.

snack: russian strawberry yogurt chocolate 100  / almonds 100-200

lunch: from home - leftovers and freshly cooked veggies from last night: grilled chicken 250, veggies 100, fried rice 250. 600-650.

snack: peach 100, Almonds 100

before workout: possibly a sandwich - my leftover lox 70 & egg chicken 130on an english muffin 150with a little butter 50OR avocado.400 and iced coffee 50


during workout: aminos

after workout: tbd, maybe peanut butter ? or protein muffin with extra chocolate or a bar....depends how many calories i have left...



one of the books i am reading i am returning to the library before finishing it. the guy was a spy that was imprisoned and by no means a writer. he is very detailed but it can get very boring as he mentions many names of people / places that i do not know and also it's not a story but a chronoligical diary of around 5 years. it's become repetitive in nature and i do not have much more to learn from it. so, after reading about 2/3 of the book, i cannot read anymore. the next book i'm reading will also not be read till the end - it is long and unless i become interested, my idea was just to gather a glimpse of the book and not the entire read.

they are not :( ....they are store-bought mix, not homemade, a keto mix....too much fiber and artificial taste...is it because i used coconut oil and not butter? they don't taste like brownies :(

I found that I was in the habit of not finishing books, and thought that maybe it was ME that had an attention issue. So I plodded through 2 WW2 books - specifically focused on the German side. So boring...

However, I finished the Going Gray book which I found easy to do. So go figure!

R slept over so i did wake up on and off during the night...but i also woke up because i was drinking lots of fluids before bed and needed to use the bathroom 2x throughout the night..

8am breakfast: 1/2 keto brownie (not the best flavor - i don't really recommend / and also lots of fiber ) 100 cal, oatmeal with almond milk 170, pumpkin blended yogurt 120, iced coffee 50. total - 450.

snack: i have a new flavor bar to try 200 - tasty jif pb bar

12:30pm chicken 300 and salad with olive oil and vinegar 200, 2 garlic knots 300. total 800

3:30pm peach 100

5:15pm strawberries 100, 50

DINNER: small amount,but a full meal of leftover chinese fried rice, some tofu, some chicken, some veggies. 550. small meal, but def enough.


2285 3-day....decent...indulged a bit :)

 morning was a short bike ride, not too intense, just enough. legs are sore, but biking doesn't work the same mucles as walking/jogging.



going to shower quick, go for a shorter bike ride, stop by a store with R, take older cousin (he's 61 i think?) but acts younger (has a lot of energy)- out to lunch for pizza as he lives only a 5min drive away....Ricky will come because it's easier for me to relax this way...i'll prob order a salad...prob spend up to 2 hours with cousin from noon-2pm...then get my rx at drug store also by him...cousin has MS since birth....didn't realize ever what it was before Cynthia, his friend/caregiver told me at lunch exactly what it is.   it was because the umbilical cord stangled his neck at birth.

home by 3-3:30pm,...after all this, i'll come back home to cook a little bit (the rest of the veggies from Mifits last week - peppers, eggplant, anything else), and do laundry before going to bed early (or that's my plan, at least!)

yes, this was a 5mile/10mile race that i signed myself and Ricky up for. MOST of the attendees were RUNNERS! actually, they ALL were! R & I started walking, as i knew 5mi is no joke and i hadn't been running. R quit after one lap, 2.5 miles. I continued. Because there were plenty of racers running a 10mile race, i finished with the end of the 10K runners, LOL. I did some jogging and was happy to feel good at the end. I felt my breathing was shallow and i could work on more training for cardio/breathing/leg strength but it was good to see this race - the male winner of the 10 miles ran in minimalist sandals! also, the racers were a diverse crowd and it was nice to see people of all races and ethnicities all taking part in health. i was super impressed by the runners, this was a super experienced crowd of all ages and most of HIGH running ability. i finished next to last, with just a slightly overweight woman a bit older than me finishing last. like i said, this was an "elite" group. LOL. talk about a wakeup call. i don't feel bad - i haven't trained. it's good i could finish.

the course had slight hills (small, not like a mountain or anything), so there were times when i stopped jogging (i walked fully the 1st half or 2.5mi)...to walk slightly on an incline because you could feel the extra intensity of a slight incline hill. but in general, i'd call the course mostly flat. it was good to do, we were done by 9:30am and it started at 8am! these runs are amazing bc they start so early and you have a whole day left afterwards.

it was long and a good experience. i was walking most of it alongside extremely experienced runners. there was a race at the end, just a mile long, and the winner won it in under 6minutes for the entire mile! Actually, he ran it in 5min 14 seconds! amazing!

Good Morning!

9am Breakfast after 20min walk: oatmeal 150 with almond milk 20, 2% light mango blended yogurt 120, Lily's chocolate chips 60, bit of oatmeal with saffron for health benefits, cinnamon, iced coffee with almond milk 50. 400.

Early lunch: english muffin with butter, egg, lox: 400.

snacks: lots of celery,leftover from last night tasty salad with shrimp: 300

ice cream, unplanned, and bigger than i thought it would be :( 6oz vanilla and fudge sundae it was called..

snack: fruit - apple 100

dinner: probably a veggie tofu soup 150?, rice 100 other sauteed veggies 100? - thai takeout. with my own tofu 100 that i have in my fridge waiting to be used :) two small spring rolls 150? 600...and tastes of brownie batter 100. 700

went over in calories bc i really hadn't planned on the Garber's ice cream 6oz cup with fudge. :( ...next time i will prob have an ice pop, but the vanilla ice cream just sounded so good. and tasted good.

2300, at least healthy food was included all day.






Today is the last beach day of the season! I'm pretty happy about it as it's a whole day adventure and i'm glad to move from beach season to more local activities. I am also glad to soak in some sun for the last time with my friend and eat some good food for dinner too!

I took a short 20 min walk very shortly after i got out of bed, instead of directly going to eat and sit on the couch :) I am going to try to do this type of thing on weekends and possibly during the week for now on.  Like Donkey and many here (Legs, Annie - those of you that mention fitness in their diaries) - i totally need to reestablish a new plan now for this fall season. I totally need to make changes and work once again on improving my cardio (and also situps). i do need to order an elliptical i think to have inside my apt for rainy / poor weather. and i do need better planning and much more time managment (less time off couch). my cooking scenarios may fall to the wayside and i may even start to order food more, if it means more attention to being active moving on the weekend....things to think about.  i have to reset my priorities.

Are you still having beach weather? Here I need a fleece jacket, which I'm fine with. Ah to soak up the sun - do it while you can. All that wonderful vitamin D!

Reading your post today was an alarming wake-up call to me, because although I have spoken about setting up something for September, going into the colder weather, I hadn't REALLY thought it through.

If you are going to purchase cardio equipment for home, I urge you to try it out at a shop first - especially with ellipticals. Not all ellipticals are created equally, and you don't want one that won't work for you, or you won't use it. You may have better luck with a recumbent bike - just a suggestion. I know I'm biased ;-)

it's too out of the way so my friend christine told me about her stepper...i'll get one of those for now...and consider another piece of equipment later in the fall. the gym is just too much of a waste of my time (during the week) to go to. and if i could have a piece of machinery at home....wow...convenience.

We will leave work early today at 1:30pm...last night i did weights so today is a bike ride, dinner, and getting to bed at a decent hour in preparation for a day at the beach tomorrow :)

also on the way home - picking up plums / fruit. - picked up peaches and avocado. plums were too soft / spoiled.

got home at 3:30pm. even stopped at library to get a movie for the weekend on Monday.

off for some biking soon with Ricky...just had a snack first and of course my stomach cleared itself up once i was back in my apt!!!!!!!!!

Your picking up plums reminded me of today when I was in the grocery store looking at a container of scupponong grapes and trying to decide whether to buy them or not. It is the once a year season that we have them in and they have always been my happy yearly favorite... However this year, I seem to have lost my desire to eat them...bought some recently and did not especially enjoy them as I usually do, so I put the container back. I guess our tastes sometimes change for different things.

fitness update: i gotta say, skipping any real cardio training this month has left me feeling like something is missing. i feel most definitely like something in my life is missing. and i am def ready to train more next month. over the past couple months, i feel myself drifting a bit. i need to sit down and do some of my own planning and get back to some cardio training by asking R for his help, yes, i need his help because he helped me design something to help practice the cardio agility and with his help i will have better direction to set it up quickly and efficiently....i will be starting the plan for this and doing it after my bday....around september 14th weekend.

well, i didn't try the water / baking soda because it's an issue lower down than my esophagus/stomach/upper intestine.

I feel it'll go away by the weekend / on the weekend when my schedule is more open without such an early morning.

and once the week starts up, i usually have a problem getting regular again until the weekend once i have this issue going on. so, i guess i'll have to bear with it. also, i think i need to wake up earlier out of bed again...my rushing in the morning is adding to this issue. like you say in your entries, i need more structure.

tonight i will bike (if it doesn't rain which it prob is) a little, no weights, bed on the early side again.

i also am leaving work 15min early to get to a dr. appt that i had to keep rescheduling (dr actually originally forgot to cancel it with me so dr actually didn't show up the first time....then i couldn't make it the following weekend due to going out to the water park all day...so now i'm going today and the only option is to leave work a little early, but i already made up the 15min time this past Monday actually in advance!)

lately most things are routine. my energy is down a bit, so i'm going to take a rest tonight unless the weather is nice...or if my mood changes, i might do weights. prob not though. extra rest is always taken on my end when i feel it i know to listen to my body...so yeah...it seems getting extra rest is my best choice tonight.




Horrible bloating this week mostly my fault as i keep drinking kombucha in mornings when it's apparent i shouldn't have this week bc i wake up bloated....but i like it and it's relaxing to me to drink it...so i guess i have to deal with it.  it's because i started the week on Sunday too late in the day eating a large volume of spinach and it's just been too much to digest - for lunch today i need some carbs to solidy everything....and maybe a banana later.

it's a fermented drink sorta like beer, but the flavors are generally sweet and there's very low or extremely minimal alcohol and you def do NOT get drunk. it's carbonated and low calories, but not a coffee unless it's flavored coffee, but most a fruit or flower flavors like elderberry / lavender or fruit flavors like i mentioned. the flavors are a huge variety, just like yogurts come in so many flavors. the calories are low, they fill you from the carbonation and are very tasty. usually the bottle has 2 servings - 2 cups amount. it's very tasty to me in the morning when i'm just getting up to drink a sweet, aquired taste, fermented drink. it's liquidy like water consistency. you can google them, i like the Synergy brand.

it was raining, so that will be for tonight.

past two weeks i have "purposely" skipped a weights session each week. (meaning, it is fully because i chose to do this and not due to any serious conflicts). i have done weights only 2x per week instead of 3x for these two weeks, as a way to not break myself down as i am known to do at the end of the summer. it's also been a way for me to get a little more rest and also some other exercise in. tonight, my choice is biking and since i get out of work very early Friday, i'm pushing my second workout to Friday instead of tonight so that tonight i can get good sleep and end the week in a more energetic way and start the weekend fresh and not tired.

but last night, after a crappy appt with a psych dr (he's a meds pusher and i have to ignore his critiques/views because they are just to help him make $ - i got to him for his location and he carries my insurance but that's all), i got home on the late side, had dinner with R, and just relaxed until bed. it did rain.

lunch: from home - 2 meatballs with sauce 250 over greens - some of the greens were heavily in butter but most not 200 (and i think that's it for today - low carb meal i think will be just fine!), and chips 200. 650...still liking my chips lol. would have been a good day for rice....but still liking my chips. / crackers. i do better with carbs, not sure why i even debated not having them.

snack: plum 60, almonds 100

dinner -i have a union meeting at 6pm-7pm and sometimes they give out hot dogs that are grilled...if so, i'll probably enjoy one before walking home (i live only 10min walk from union hall) to bed early. there were no hotdogs...so i had half a garlic bagel 200 with a good amount of whipped cream cheese 200 and a cinnamon muffin for dessert too lol. 300? total around 700. i actually took this home from the meeting and thoroughly enjoyed it all.and almond milk with a drip of coffee and stevia. 30.

long but not too long - i used to go to the gym after meetings back in the day! thank gosh i am not doing that any more! i realize now there's a limit and that sleep is necessary, not optional! :) and i'm thankful for meetings only 6 times per year (and only when i can make it - i had to skip 2 this year because i was on vacation during both of them!)

they are not as good as i'd wanted them to be and sorta high cal because the almond flour is packed densely. 250 cal for a small muffin. not cool. LOL. yes, it'd be good to have one with yogurt. maybe i'll do that for dinner one night.

for some reason, if i don't have avocado and at least an egg if not another protein, i'm hungry soon after. even if i have oatmeal! but lately, my oatmeal with yogurt has been satisfying on weekends at home too.

Breakfast The choc chip muffins i made are very nice. not sweet at all, but wholesome tasting and thank gosh for chocolate chips because otherwise they wouldn't have been that good. so i'll eat these for breakfast all week :) 250 and coffee 50. 300.

snack: almonds then peanuts (muffin didn't keep me satisfied for long!) 200

lunch: leftovers - very tasty - from last night's dinner - seared tuna with lots of toasted sesame seeds 200-250 dipped into a sweet sauce, sauteed spinach in a lot of oil 200 (really tasty), some lettuce/tomato, half a roll 250 with butter...700 tops.

snack: plums 100 /almonds 100

before workout another muffin, iced coffee 300 and nut butter 200/ during workout: weights tonight (skipped on purpose yesterday to free up time and relax, no regrets)

after workout: tbd also - maybe i'll have lox and avocado on an english muffin (taking some weeks away from wraps now)nut butter

2250, good.

weights tonight...good day so far. prepared. everything is going ok. should be a good week and a FAST week...i have something scheduled everyday after work...tomorrow a union meeting, Wednesday a quick dr appt and i have to leave work early....so i will stay a little late tonight.

After so many years of sweets...it is extra nice to know that we can still have things and cut way down on the sweetness...and they can still be satisfying.......maybe even more so!

yes, i liked being able to eat something different for a change. i will say the recipe is NOT perfect though. there's actually very little fat (not even any butter, just a little bit of oil) in the recipe and the muffin is quite dense (which i like). but i don't think i'll make this exact recipe again, though i'll say it was soooo easy to make! of course the muffins aren't as filling as an egg and avocado wrap, lol....

but it's nice to eat something like a pastry for breakfast again...i agree with you! :) i still need to work on "the perfect sweet" breakfast for work....my brownies that i made last year that were flavored with coconut oil were much better...and so was my pumpkin pie cheesecake.

definitely! i wish muffins kept me full in mornings but i gotta say there's nothing like egg/avocado on a wrap or bread.
