Happy Thursday....seems i'm still looking for more sleep. Will do that on and off as i am able to..

No Kombucha...i may take a slight break

Snack:  wrap 200, chicken 100, avocado 100  Small bar 130

Lunch, tasty: Avocado 100, tomato salad 150, wrap 200, 2 small falafel balls / extra tomatoes 100. 550 healthy.

snack: 150 dark chocolate..

HORRIBLE GAS...too many veggies, i'll have to work on it...and also too many atkins bars.

GYM TONIGHT..looking forward to doing my thing and being very happy doing it!

Before gym: tbd, thinking a sandwich and seltzer 400, hot balsamic veggies 200.

1750, healthy...heading out to gym late around 8pm....deciding lately to RELAX before gym, after i eat....time to go!!!!!!!!!

I needed more sleep this morning too; in fact, I 'snoozed' my alarm three times and barely got up with enough time to get ready for work! It kind of throws your whole day off when you get a late start like that. Hope you're able to snag a nap in the day.

no nap...but i do feel MUCH better now compared to this AM...i know it's slightly in my head...lately i start to notice myself getting "negative" or thinking a more negative thought and realize it's partially up to me to turn the frown around!

also helps to get more sleep, when i start to feel this way.

i also ate a little better...dinner was more carbs and same for lunch.

lunch: from home, finally: cauliflower rice 100, turkey sausage on a wrap 200. plum 100 - tops 400.

snack: banana close ot when i leave here i think. need more potassium i think.

dinner: a nice soft wrap 200 with chicken 200 and avocado 150. 550 popcorn 200 2050 - excellent something light or the ice cream i think with banana..i just want to sleep very early tonight.

thinking to skip exercise and go home to sleep early tonight as i've been busy since Monday night :)

all is good, but know i want to catch up on sleep tonight :)

YEAH, I TOTALLY IMPRESSED MYSELF ON THE #40! NOT EXPECTED, BUT, ALL THE EFFORTS AND HARD WORK (AND CAFFEINE LAST NIGHT) ARE PAYING OFF...I'M STILL IMPROVING WITH EVERYTHING. this is the reason i like to keep the gym routine and not start skipping days, as soon as i skip, i feel weaker...so it's been a great summer! :)

yes, tonight is sleep. i went walking at lunch, and i'll walk a little bit from the bus to my apt tonight, but then sleeping early i am quite sure. it's been a busy week with late nights since Sunday night!

lunch: i may go for the fried stuff my leftovers, yes...White rice 250 i think, deep fried and breaded jumbo shrimp, 1.5 of them 250, cherry tomatoes 50, cabbage with sauce 50. total here: 600-650.

1250...extremely very tasty glad i don't eat this way EVERYDAY bc a lot of flavor makes me want to keep eating and eating! glad i had veggies today!

snack: tbd - candy dark chocoloates 150, coffee

Dinner before gym: thinking a healthy-type bar, fruit, seltzer :) i have lots of fresh strawberries at home :) - but i may change this up for a real sandwich and veggies...we will see.

almost a lb of healthy olive oil carrot salad 200-250, i doubt any more than that. bread with mustard and a turkey frank 200....450 will eat a little more tonight...more veggies sauteed 150. total 600. needed this.

 After gym: TBD, i see light ice cream may be in my future :) Cliff bar that i had actually left in my gym bag, so it was very convenient. i should do this more - bring the snack with me for after gym so i don't have to stop at any convenience stores on the way home!

Snack: tbd 300 in healthy indian wrap i made with egg, feeling very snacky, not actually hungry tho.

Lunch: healthy, from home...caulliflower fried rice! with extra peas and carrots (yes, i made it! - needs a little more seasoning i think next time) 150, wrap with mustard 100 and turkey sausage filled with little cheddar bits 150. 400....i think i need to add a banana to my lunch or snack later...i think low on potassium due to sweating/lots of pooping/workouts this weekend.lol...i am serious tho!..we'll see how i feel this afternoon.

went out for an amazing lunch with coworkers...not healthy..but sorta. ..pork soup with tasty veggies just amazing 250, fried shrimp 300 and a bit of a very cheesy tasting crab cake too heavenly to have more than one bite 50. 700 tops i think.

it was a really, really busy night...from when i left work at 4:30 until around 9pm. glad everything is done. new license plates on my car...new registration, now need to still fix a few things and we are good. :) ...finally cleaned the hamster cage :)

1. go to Midtwon Manhattan DMV after work - closeest one before it closes...

2. buy a new gym lock (my lock broke somehow) hopefully at the dollar store today. otherwise i'll buy it at a pharmacy store tomorrow. 

3. Clean hamster cage so my baby can stay healthy lol...

yes, when i get home! :) it's on the back of the bag of the cauliflower fried rice...SO EASY...instead of fresh ginger i used powder and instead of fresh garlic i use the one preserved in the refrigerated container that lasts forever :)

You know, let me remember it, here's the riced cauliflower recipe, based on 12 oz of mostly cauliflower with a few peas and carrots thrown in - or like i think half a head of cauliflower or maybe a whole head with a few peas and carrots (my veggies are frozen and i add them right into the pan this way)

Cook on medium: 1-2 tablespoons olive oil or veg oil or peanut oil or whatever you like oil, with a few cloves of garlic 2-4...if you don't have fresh, use the spice of course - for one minute

add either fresh or ground ginger, at least a teaspoon

cook a 30 seconds-minute longer

add the frozen veggies, cook 4 minutes...

add 1-2 teaspoons soy sauce or liquid aminos. beware, liquid aminos are a stronger flavor, so use only up to 1 teaspoon i think...cook a minute longer

add a scrambled (or microwaved scrambled) egg - i add pepper to mine..and mix into the pan with everything else one more minute

and DONE!


black pepper for scrambled egg if you like black pepper!

2-4 cloves of garlic or powder garlic or pickled garlic in fridge

fresh or powder ginger 1 teaspoon or a little more

1-2 teaspoons (one little restuarant package) of soy sauce or a teaspoon or tablespoon or amino acids (only use one, not both types of sauce they are similar flavors - it's whatever you have in your house)

bag of either frozen (i guess you can also used fresh but you have to drain the fresh cauliflower i think) riced cauliflower / a head of riced cauliflower

a little bit of frozen peas and carrots - handful or so

an egg (to be scrambled stove top or even microwave)

1 egg and 1 egg white 100, on toast 150, with indian palak 200 at most and other indian heavy sauteed veggies 150. very tasty.  filling, too. 600-650. no wonder why it was filling, that's a lot of calories!

snack around noon: coffee and an atkins small protien bar the nut caramel one. 200 cals total here. 

2pm late lunch / meal before gym in an hour or two: cheesy cauliflower rice...microwavable frozen bag just like that - i added spices to it...much better with cumin, paprika and pepper added in! ...150, wrap 100, sausage 100

Plum 50

Banana probably at the gym 150 1400

Ice cream maybe for dessert after gym: plum 50, cliff bar 260, and some ice cream yes...

1900 total, excellent.

Ok, time to get laudnry out of the drier and get some coffee, then on to clean this hamster cage :) Hamster deserves some clean living :) I usually clean it now every 2 weeks since it has lasted quite well without any major smell at all ! :) good bedding!

I want a coffee which i'll go out to walk and get after i finish laundry which is probably so dry and getting wrinkled in the machine lol as i write this. i did some cleaning up, cooked some small chedder filled turkey franks (not high quality, but a change of pace), getting my act together, will go out and do a food shopping. gym in the afternoon, gonna go early even though it's not a full 48 hours since late friday night's session. eager to be back home early tonight and be in bed early too. it'll be a busy week ahead and next weekend's plan is for Splish Splash which will be a BIG event on Saturday after a full week of work. So i'm getting organized and ready for the week ahead. I will also clean the hamster cage today! ha!


I'm glad to have better food options in store today here at home!

yesterday was very fun. i got my belly button pierced bc we were in the "Village" part of Manhattan with tons of shops around. I paid $35 and later went in another store that charged $70 - so glad i didn't opt for that! and then later found a small stand on the street that was doing it for $20...sorta wish i had looked around more before doing it....! oops. Would have been nice to pay $20 instead of almost $40 with tax. darn. we saw a funny show, off broadway, called Avenue Q which is an adult rated version of Sesame Street. Pretty funny. at times it was too over the top i think even for me with the adult humor jokes and stuff.

nah, knowing NYC, i really should have shopped around...i let my desire for getting a piercing (something i've wanted around a year now to do!) .... get in the way of shopping around. i hadn't thought to shop around...and i've learned a lesson...look around to see if there's many stores selling the same thing...and ask around before i buy! i hadn't even looked around to notice the other stores until after i got it done...i could have done better...but your suggestion is good, i just know that i would have been very ok...i just didn't even think to shop / look around!

yes, i bought some of the stuff they told us to get and will keep one small bottle at work - saline solution. it does hurt a little / it's very sensitive for now but good thing it's summer / dress season :) no pants this week i do not think!

indian is the best man....i have leftovers still from Friday to eat (all veggies, so they are still good!) Indian veggies when they sautee them are just so good ...or however they make them with the curry and oil and so much flavor!

I want to reply to a post you responded to yesterday about adderal and it's generics......You are absolutely right to stay away from it...it is an amphetamine and highly addictive not to mention that it has awful side effects. You also mentioned that you think the drs get paid to prescribe it....RIGHT ON!! My years spent as a medical secretary put me in contact with hundreds of drug reps and their goals are one thing and one thing only....talk the drs into prescribing their med. I dealt with drug reps asking if the drs skied, liked baseball, and wanted to know where they liked to vacation.......ski trips for entire extended families were totally paid for....boxed seats at sporting events....a drs infant was supplied with Enfamil formula for her entire first year....plus...they brought in meals for the entire staff totaling $400 a meal...( I signed for them) at least twice a week....now that adderal is old enough and has generics.....it will get the drs less kick backs.....but the habit is still in place.......drs have 2 ways to treat patients.....cut on them...or drug them......and believe me...a patient that walks out of the drs office is one UNHAPPY patient...if they don't get a prescription...and they rarely come back....so drs are programmed to prescribe...it makes the patient happy.....and the drug companies happy...and the dr can rely on that patient returning to get their refills. As long as I worked for that large medical group...all of my medical visits there were free..plus I was given free presc samples from the DRUG ROOM.....when I retired....I slowly weaned myself off of all drugs ( steroid asthma inhalers, thyroid pills, blood pressure pills, and cholesterol pills)....it took me 9 months to do that...and now it has been 16 years with no prescribed meds....and I haven't even had 1 drs visit since then......I take Tylenol for pain and even anxiety as needed..it also works to make me sleepy....and occasionally use a over the counter antacid type of thing...If needed.....if something crops up...I use over the counter things......and I'm no worse than before...........I take vitamins when I think of them...( and I need to start eating better again)....but I have found that coffee works just as well as an asthma inhaler.....and self talk....can calm me when I get anxious....and Tylenol as a back up is just right for me.......So often people are enamored with drs.....well I saw them in their daily lives....and believe me...they are just like everyone else...I saw one come in with big green rubber boots...because they were handy, one lost his comb so he stopped bothering to comb his hair, one liked to ogle any female that was up on a ladder getting files.....one ate oysters straight from the can daily...and he smelled like it all of the time...one never would get his lab coats washed ( or use deodorant)...so someone had to grab them out of his office when he wasn't looking and wash them and put them back before he figured it out...he also used the plunger that had been in the toilet...in the kitchen sink...and when I gasped when I saw that...he looked at me and asked what was the matter...I told him that the plunger had just been in the toilet hours before ( we had a patient caused flood)....and he asked me if I actually believed in bacteria...I told him I thought I did....he turned around and kept plunging the kitchen sink.....working there taught me a lot....I don't respect doctors anymore.

yes, it seems his goal was to get me on something quite addictive. so i'd keep wanting more. that's what i think, since, even talking with this dr he didn't seem to think i had ADHD at all, it wasn't apparent at all. he just keep suggesting it. i def do not need ANY MORE stimulants, i don't think, other than my coffee and caffeine lol.

they were nothing special at the place we went, i was soooo unimpressed. mostly potato and hardly any veggies. they had so many flavors but basically they all tasted just potato - they really could have put MUCH more variety and flavor into each bite. i had to LOOK for mushrooms in the mushroom knish. nothing special. i had to find the jalepenos in the jalepeno knish and then there was a cheese one which i just stabbed my fork in to taste, it was wayyy tooo rich.

It helps me a lot.

If you go for it, make sure you always get it refilled 3 days early so you can build a small stockpile. Red Cross doesn't stock it so if there is an emergency you need to have enough to taper off then go without. It doesn't feel like anything to be on it, at least to me. I just magically keep a hold of my car keys... But withdrawal is nasty. Ask your doctor how to taper off on your dosage in case of emergency. Don't stroke out.

GYM and dr appt - leaving work half hour early and home on time/little early. perfect for gym tonight, Friday night, Sunday of this week. 

Everything worked out - maybe i'll ask for advice regarding dr appt...not in mood right now though!

Progress as of today: -1 lbs lost so far, only 5 lbs to go!

i got the dr (psychologist) to agree to every 3 months instead of 2...he wants me to try different drugs out...and i don't feel like being a guinea pig...that has to do with my question..i'll write it some other time, i'm still thinking about it.

Ah I see... I think you are right to be concerned. Just be careful. I understand where you are coming from. Many years ago, I was prescribed Prozac for depression. It didn't help and made me very anxious, so then they prescribed Ativan too, for the anxiety, but that lead to uneven moods, so then they prescribed a drug I don't remember the name... thorazine? ... which is an anti psychotic and can cause irreversible damage.... anyway after having so many drugs that weren't really solving any problems, I decided that stopping the prozac was the right decision.

Snack: 170 choc covered coconut bar atkins (really loving them now though too much, not interested in my typical avocado wraps...)170, 50 cals in siracha almonds yum. 

Lunch: nice, from home!  :) lots of fresh (well been in fridge couple weeks but tasty!) peppers 100?...tofu 100 and potatoes i roasted 150, avoacdo 100 tops. 400.

Snack - coffee/almonds 100

Dinner Before Gym plum 50, 1/2 chicken burger 100, 1/2 avocado 150, wrap 100, roasted veggies 100, dessert: 

Ice cream 150, granola bar in middle of night, interruped sleep lately, but i do go back to bed.



it's late - and i'm going to skip the gym tonight...i'll go tomorrow as i get out early. one more skip this week & totally ok...this summer it's more about convenience than anything else...i'm still doing a great job sticking with my goals.

gym tomorrow wednesday! :) - i will be more refreshed and home early after dr appointment.

Bars ( cereal,choc type...not alcohol type) of any kind,.....literally...have an addictive quality for me...ever since they first came out...I remember fighting that monster way back in the 1990's......it was my one glitch in my ww program back then...

SAME here, they are made with flavors i believe stronger than natural food...purposely. :) that's why i like them too!

i at one point had a problem with QUEST bars...i'd be eating 2-3 a night...nothing nutritious about it, that's around the time i was suffering from leg injuries.

The gym will be there when you're ready. Better to go when you can have a great workout than to go when not so ready or convenient and have a mediocre output.

yes, i just have to do what i have to do....scheduling with few days off means i should just make the best of it...:) and have a good workout when it's possible and skip when it just seems not worth it....yeah, trying not to let it bother me as i'm doing my best in my mind :)
