Progress as of today: -2.2 lbs lost so far, only 3.2 lbs to go!

BearCountryGG on 08/15/2019:
Have a good one.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/15/2019:
thanks BCGG!

BearCountryGG on 08/15/2019:
I also posted to your yesterday post about job changes.......unfortunately law enforcement is not being respected like theyn used to be,....it's a tough time to be in their shoes.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/15/2019:
yes, all careers and ways of life have a pattern of changing and not being how they used to. i totally agree.

I'll have to continue seeing how i feel and not forgetting about my fitness training. i have a year left of it for this process. we'll see where i am at....!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/15/2019:
i did read those comments, thank you. yes, i have seen court officers in action - they do sometimes seem to not be moving that much and standing for long periods.

Maria7 on 08/16/2019:
Hoping you are enjoying your Friday off. Have a good day.

horn_of_plenty on 08/16/2019:
Going well .....

Horn_of_plenty - Wednesday Aug 14, 2019
(counting calories/walking/elliptical/weights)
Weight: 116.2

On the way home, i bought fruit at the fruit/veggie stand near the train and here's how much i saved:

2 combined dry pints of raspberries: $3 ---- supermarket would be like $8

3lbs of strawberries for $3 total ---- in store would be at least $5 or much more if no sale since lately there's a sale of 3 for $5...but sometimes they are like $5 each!

1 dry pint of blueberries $1.50 ---- in store at least $2.50-$4.00

5 avocados for $2.50 (50 cents each!) ---- in store they are currently $2.99ea so 5 of them would have been $15!!!

so, i saved at least we can easily say around $25!!!!!

i should have bought the cherry tomatoes for $1.50 - in the store they were $2.99 - i went to the store to buy cucumbers for the beach so i can cut them up as i actually didn't have enough veggies to cut up for the beach, LOL. I didn't buy the tomatoes since i know i can get them at the stand for a better value next week or tomorrow.

kombucha 50

breakfast: wrap and egg, spices, avo, coffee 350.

snack: not sure, prob salt and pepper peanuts 130

(out of almonds at the moment) chocolate 120

lunch: very similar to yesterday, with a bit of tofu as i only have 2 fried shrimp left 200 as well as tons of veggies 250 - will add some dressing and goldfish crackers 200

snack: plum, maybe more peanuts  candy 30

dinner: small plum and a ton of raspberries 200; extra moist dbl chocolate warm protein muffin 250 with whole milk greek yogurt 150. i added extra chocolate chips in and they melted perfectly. kombucha. yup, a sweet tooth decided on my dinner ;)

and a wrap

5day avg: 2000 per day, very good.

exercise: not much planned, rest day...bed early on purpose - busy week/weekend ahead until Sunday which will be very, very relaxed LOL. Friday and Saturday  I have major plans (fun) but plans, so Sunday i'll spend quietly at home.

I do need to pick up fruit on the way home. preferably a lot of it...plums, strawberries, apricots...we'll see what the selection is.

(thru Tuesday - 1985 4-day avg)

thoughts regarding being a peace officer (court officer) - not sure i can reach the goals. i probably have around a YEAR still i can be preparing until any sort of physical test presuming i can pass the written portion and get a high enough score that i am contacted. supposedly info for the test is coming out in December. it has been very difficult for me to change my level of fitness, though i am not in a mood to quit now. i just see that i have been at this point several times before and i see it might be a dream and that's it. the test is far easier than being a cop for the new york city PD. i don't necessarily want to waste my time training for something i cannot pass anyway, but, perhaps i have to continue to train smart? really, i SHOULD be able to  do this - it's 4 tests only - situps (i'm near the top score, but not there yet) , pushups (i have reached top score already), and two running tests. i will begin AGAIN training for these two running cardio elements after the summer simply because i cannot balance it with my daily schedule and weekend plans right now. i WILL injure myself if i have to both train now doing extra hardcore cardio and keep the plans i have with friends. the plans involve cardio and i cannot simply mix walking at a water park barefoot with additional training, it's just too much and will cause injury.

so, i still have time. i'm really trying to have a life balance here. this is why i am not doing cardio training. it's not that i'm not doing any cardio - i'm fitting it in as i can, but i cannot double up - like double the training. like, if i'm biking on the weekend with a friend, i cannot just also practice running. it's just too much and i already know what will happen.

my legs and ankles are a LOT better compared to last month at this time when i skipped a 5k. because i have rested.

so, i'm going to have to listen to my body. who wants to be in a lot of pain and not do anything?

i am able to continuously do more, it's just a pattern of needing breaks more often and time off more often when training than i like to when it comes to cardio / legs.

simply, the reason court officer still looks favorable is mostly a new job atmosphere and good salary. honestly, if i knew how the industry i am in would play out, i'd probably just stay here...but i really don't know.  i guess i can guess - i'll live like i do now for life. not necessarily bad, not great. one thing is i will not have put basically any of my higher education to benefit me. but even as a court officer, it doesn't require a master's degree.

there are a lot of unknowns. i really don't want to think about being in this industry for life though it is a bit tearing at me lately that this will be the case if my fitness doesn't improve. i will know this very, very soon. Come next summer, things will actually be pretty darn apparent, i'd say...

Progress as of today: -2.2 lbs lost so far, only 3.2 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 08/14/2019:
Good luck with career plans. And, yes, listen to your body! I ignored the shoulder pain I had and really injured it more.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/14/2019:
yeah, i must admit that listening to my body has been one thing i have learned and that i do a little better now - but i could do it even more and it wouldn't hurt!

legcramps on 08/14/2019:
Life balance is important! Do what's right for you. And, if court officer is no longer your dream, it's ok for that to be your reality. Dreams change!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/14/2019:
the dream i still would like, but if my body cannot do it in the end,i will have to accept it. i will try hard. i looked at the website, the written test will be given this Spring. so i guess it will be around one year before the physical test. like you said, it's ok if my reality has to change.

Maria7 on 08/14/2019:
Like Legcramps above stated...dreams do change...

Horn_of_plenty on 08/14/2019:
yeah she's right. i hope i can still make this one work, but, if my body isn't up to it then it's just not up to it. i'll decide after one more year. i'd like to turn things around very much this year. things have been improving for me for awhile now. :)

Donkey on 08/15/2019:
It's ok to change goals. If you decide to let go of the court officer goal, that's ok. However, if you're undecided, I would suggest to continue to prepare for it. You can always decline to participate in the testing when the time comes, if you are prepared. However, if you are not prepared, then that choice is no longer available.

But it is ok to give yourself permission to let go of this goal, and adjust your training for a different goal/dream.

One thing I noticed is that you wrote that one of the appealing aspects of court officer is a new job scene. Believe me, that will fade really fast. All new jobs are bright and shiny until reality and routine set in. This statement is not to discourage you in any way. Just keeping it real. I hope that's ok.

I mean, if you want a new job scene, couldn't you ask for a transfer or new assignment with your current employer?

IDK, I understand your desire for something new and challenging. I truly do.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/15/2019:
i value what you wrote that all jobs do get old and i'd have to totally agree with you that this one would feel that way, too, once working it a few years. you are totally 100% accurate here.

the pay would be better overall and i feel greater job security as court officer too....assuming i could handle it...

Donkey on 08/15/2019:
Way to go on the fresh produce!!! That was a score, wasn't it?

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/15/2019:
unbelievable really! makes me realize just how great it is for my budget to stop by the fruit stand on the way home!!! amazing!

BearCountryGG on 08/15/2019:
Life changes, things change...what we thought we wanted sometimes doesn't look as a appealing later....it's okay to change your mind.....When I had jury duty....I noticed the officer that had to stand next to the jury box for the entire time. Basically he did only a few things.....he repeatedly opened and closed the jury box door as people came in and left....he told the DEFENDANT...that she could NOT bring her breakfast into the courtroom...and sent her out. And someone asked to go to the bathroom twice and he okayed that. Other than that...he just had to stand there all day. I'm sure you have considered the possibility...that a defendant could try to escape the courtroom...and it would be your job to stop him or her....I know that at no time in my adulthood would I have been able to fight a grown male criminal......of course you would have a gun...but you would also have a room full of other people..and you would have to prevent the defendant from getting your gun away from you..that would definately be a change of scenery.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/18/2019:
thank you for your insightful comments...i def have considered it...when i went for jury duty, the court officers did seem bored.

snack: almonds 100 (need to buy / bring more)

lunch: i have a very large tomato/cucumber salad with olive oil and italian seasoning 250 plus i have a lime to squeeze over it also! i have to buy some meat at lunch, craving it and lately i do not eat a lot of it. not sure what i'll buy, but i know it will be satisfying....i also have goldfish crackers, my new favorite "chip." and some fried shrimp/fried calamari and goldfish crackers. 650 total.

TOM is here and this time there's a bit of pain with it. nothing that isn't managable though. just my typical right thigh pain that i get time to time. I'm taking advil to counteract it. Biking last night was good and probably good for me, too!  I'm lucky TOM is here now...and that it'll be mostly gone on Friday - that's a beach day for me! !!! A far beach, including a Ferry with my friend Christine, my coworker/boss and her 10 yr old cute daugher. :)

Progress as of today: -2.2 lbs lost so far, only 3.2 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 08/13/2019:
How long have you been on maintenance?

I do NOT miss TOM. Been 27 years since I finished!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/13/2019:
Since my sister was married, give or take 5 lbs here and there, April 2016 so over 3 years :)

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/13/2019:
I quickly gained a few lbs after her wedding and realized then that it was maintenance i wanted, not another lose/gain cycle as i cannot bear the thought of needing to lose 20 lbs as i do not think i would want to engage in that again...it is very hard work, plus, uncomfortable to me (like you mentioned in your entry) to keep having different sized clothes and not feel like myself in a bathing suit, etc...it's simply too much stress for me to have to do it again - my life is easy right now to be in maintenance mode.

if things change with my career, i have some confidence that i have a lot of tools to keep maintaining, but i do admit my life is perfect for maintenance as i have a very routine life for the most part at this time.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/13/2019:
wow you finished TOM at 40? was it by choice?

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/13/2019:
my mom will turn 67 this year as well :) talk more soon!

innerpeace on 08/13/2019:
I love gold fish crackers!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/13/2019:
they are so flavorful!!!

grannyannie on 08/13/2019:
I went through menopause at age 40. Yea, I was surprised!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/13/2019:
well, you are fine now ... i know someone else dealing with it sorta early 2 years before 40 :(

happy-1 on 08/13/2019:
Beach day! Yay! I haven't been to the beach yet this summer. Kind of a mental block on going late. I always think of the beach as a dawn thing.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/13/2019:
totally understand!!! i have been to the beach 1x during the heat of summer for sunbathing. the other times were earlier and for other activities besides sitting in the sand! and short periods of time...

Horn_of_plenty on 08/13/2019:
it's difficult for me this year to want to spend a whole day at the beach bc it tires me out and then i'm not motivated to do anything else and do less even the next day....!...that's why it's scheduled for a FRIDAY. still have the whole weekend ;)

Donkey on 08/13/2019:
Your lunch salad sounds so yummy! I bet it was beautiful to look at as well.

Ah Beach Day ... that sounds lovely!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/14/2019:
lunch was very nice, especially eating fresh food yes!

and beach day will be relaxing...right now the weather is cloudy and 79F...but i like i said, it will be relaxing. :)

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/12/2019:
haha, yes and i got some biking in...some more biking tonight too!

lately i am balancing the weekend enough so i get thru the week / weekend without leaving myself exhausted. more rest this summer than several years prior.

Maria7 on 08/12/2019:
Hope you are having a wonderful day, HOP!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/12/2019:
aside from TOM, it's going quite well ;)

BearCountryGG on 08/12/2019:
Boy I miss avocados...my country bumpkin store rarely has them...except that one day where they had a huge mountain of them with a really rotten gross one sitting on the top...one truly did not dare to disloge any of them because they were all dependant on holding each other up...LOL

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/12/2019:
this is the funniest thing i have heard all day!!! PS - i am truly sorry you don't get them at your stores :( there has been a big price increase over here with them.

grannyannie on 08/13/2019:
Sounds like you've been doing well, as usual.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/13/2019:

Don't even get me started on TOM... At least yours are short. Mine are very difficult.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/14/2019:
yes, for the past couple years at least mine are rather short.

this time around, it's messy though! LOL no more info needed.

Having a very relaxed weekend :) Mostly home actually, besides leaving the house yesterday around 3pm for biking and a free (not so good sounding) concert in NYC.

8:30am-10am oatmeal and almond milk 170, extra cream regular yogurt with fruit on bottom (good but such a small serving for yogurt so will not buy again) 210, iced coffee  50, some kombuca 50. 500 or so. good. whole pound of strawberries 150.

11am snack cheddar goldfish crackers 150 - snacky day enjoying the quiet time at home very much right now. May not leave apt not sure. Really enjoying the quiet day!

11:30 decided on a meal: some rice and beans 100, shrimp leftover from last night very good 100, and callaloo with some rice in it since it all got messy but so tasty still! 200. 400 healthy.

3pm chocolate 120 def indulgence type of day, now tapering it a bit...

very relaxing day....starting a workout at 4pm, was reading and just cleaning up until now...!

during exercise: aminos, pb, 130, pb 100, protein bar 200, potatoes, after workout bar 200

 2000 2-day avg.

Major plans for today are simple and in this order: reading, strength workout, laundry, cooking...anything else is extra. perhaps a short walk outside too, but, we'll see!!

Progress as of today: -2.2 lbs lost so far, only 3.2 lbs to go!

Donkey on 08/11/2019:
Love those simple days - my weekend has been kind of simple this time, which is good because the next 2 weeks and weekends will be busier.

What was wrong about the concert? I mean to ask, bad music or bad acoustics? How frustrating!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/11/2019:
the performers were all actually talented and performed with the best. i think it was the acoustics / outdoor speaker setup. there was little "bass sounds" and the higher frequencies sounded piercing to me. it seemed something wasn't right...also, maybe it was just being blasted at VERY LOUD volumes since the music could be heard for long distances out from where it was being performed. but everything sounded harsh. i was happy to leave when we did before it ended!!

BearCountryGG on 08/11/2019:
It turned out to be a nice day weatherwise...so it's good to get out and enjoy that when you can.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/11/2019:
i was too in the mood to relax today to make time to go out ;) it's ok since yesterday i was out all day. i love days at home as i find it amazing i can actually be home all day LOL.

Weight: 116.2

Breakfast: oatmeal and almond milk 170, whole milk with strawberry on bottom greek yogurt 170, iced coffee 50, and a small piece of really tasty cake that i had in the house, individually wrapped small piece. 100. 500

snacks: lots of fruit 150-200

Light lunch: wrap with egg 200, lots of seasoning, avocado 100. 300.

Plum 50....jerk shrimp 150?, rice and beans 200?, collard greens 100, callaloo 150?.....goldfish crackers 150...800

1800-1900 ! Excellent

trying to keep it light bc driving into NYC Central Park later for bike riding, FOOD, free jazz concert...and want to keep my eating options open. just chilling most of the day today, was reading a book, now doing my nails at home :)

Progress as of today: -2.2 lbs lost so far, only 3.2 lbs to go!

Donkey on 08/10/2019:
Blah blah blah - CAKE. LOL! Actually, I love almond milk, and after having gone sometime without, I bought another carton. There is a delicious keto chia seed pudding you can make with it. I tried it with flaxseed - not quite the same, but I ate/drank the mixture anyway because I added dark chocolate cacao to it - YUM.

Did you get your bike fixed? Did you get time to take it out for a spin?

Horn_of_plenty on 08/10/2019:
Ricky really fixed my bike really really well. it's working great and i'm glad. very clean.

i did get to bike two days ago and will bike today at the park! we're driving our bikes into the city! free jazz concert also outdoors. and cheaper food - Jamaican style is on our list. :)

everything good. and lots of time being spent at home, too, thankfully!

the cake was very good, the inside was cocoa creme and it was from an Italian manufacturer. not bad for a packaged cake!

Maria7 on 08/10/2019:
Sounds like you are having a happy day!

horn_of_plenty on 08/10/2019:
It was good yes indeed :)

Breakfast: wrap and egg 200 with tons of spice and avo 100, coffee 50.

snack: almonds...100

Lunch: from home, leftover frank 150 - not sure i'll have an appetite to eat the whole thing even as this brand isn't so tasty, and veggies i made last night from Misfits before they officially spoiled lol i just sauteed with a little extra water so i can drink the liquid - zucchini & bok choy 200 (bok choy was really, really wilted and not as fresh but tastes fine once cooked, glad nothing got wasted!) and i have 1/4 avocado 100 with my lunch as well. 450, tops.

snack: big plum, almonds 200

2100 tops extra crackers at late dinner at home

Horn_of_plenty on 08/11/2019:
they have an a very nice flavor....good they are baked...bc it's easy to eat a lot of them. i think i might start buying them instead of chips just for a change of taste. they are still quite a lot of calories, but a nice taste and good serving size.

breakfast: oatmeal and yogurt, iced coffee....450

snack during exercise pb 100, 100, egg with seasonings 100

4:30 meal goldfish crackers 250, seaweed salad 150, dbl cream yogurt w fruit 200 600.

dinner: plum 50, flavored baked tofu 200, cooked veggies 200

total 1800 :)

5day is good: 1990-2000 cal.

weather forecast is rain so if it holds off, I’ll be able to bike - otherwise I am considering driving to the gym and paying for just today to go on an indoor bike as being off all day I want to get in activity even if it rains

it rained all afternoon since 4pm and my activities took until after 4pm. i decided not to do any more exercise besides the weights in the morning - if it's nice out, i'll do a partial walk home tomorrow as well as maybe a short bike ride after i get home...or just a bike ride :) i'll see tomorrow.

EXERCISE weights workout will happen after breakfast! :-D

done! 1pm dermatologist...proably didn't leave there until around 1:45pm..was good.

done! - buy more fruit at good supermarket on the way home from derm & seltzers & iced coffee - i was prob in the supermarket 45min.

done! - return an amazon shower head at Kohl's by me (that's the return policy for this item lol  i'm lucky Kohl's is pretty darn close - 5-10min by car) (after dermatologist, on the way home) THIS TOOK A LONG TIME, THERE WAS A LONG RETURN LINE...actually prob not that long, but at least a 20min line i'd say.

2- bike ride (20-30min) in afternoon sometime around 4pm?

done! 3- 6pm Podiatrist close to home 10 min walk :)

done! - cooking the last of my veggies from a week and half ago they are still OK. making my favorite vegan collard greens recipe - i have 3 zucchini and 2 baby bok choy...just in time to cook before i get a new delivery tomorrow :) (maybe do cooking in evening)

- maybe get my nails done at a salon as they are long and could use a shaping, OR, i can do that at home with my "sticker" manicure polish...this option is the better option - the home option is better since i have 3 packs to use still that i previously bought, each pack is $10.

I also responded to your comment to your yesterdays post..........How nice to have a sleep in day...I did too!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/07/2019:
it was beautiful to get up when my body was ready LOL. for real! i wrote you back to your other response. that's the situation, indeed.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/07/2019:
i wish my mom had the confidence to know better than to just believe everything negative she hears. but she doesn't bc she also isn't perfect.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/07/2019:
i wish she could have told that woman she doesn't think that's the case and there must be more to it. oh well. either way, i told that woman's daughter (my age at the reunion) to tell her mom that i wasn't rude and make sure it gets back to my mom!!!! enough with the stupidity!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/07/2019:
i told the girl via a private facebook message.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/07/2019:
and the girl comes back and tells me that not only did she not know that my mom knew (LOL ok, whatever) that this girl also told my SISTER at the beach to invite me!!!! my sister never said a thing to me - my sister shouldn't be relied on for this type of thing, either. so as you can see, it was a mess.

BearCountryGG on 08/07/2019:
You know how funny this really is...those that want to go do...and those that don't want to go don't...we have never been to either of our high school reunions......there are about 100 in each of our classes...and about 15 show up......every reunion...that D has...he always tells me to tell them he is in PRISON!!! NO NOT DOING THAT!!!!.....we just aren't interested....and we NEVER answer the invitation......we just ignore it...because those that are eager to go...jump right on the bandwagon and say they are going.....and basically everyone else ignores it.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/07/2019:
EXACTLY !!!! :) and that's what everyone else did in this chat too! :)

i liked reading your own scenario as a way to manage my own situation. yours sounds similar to my type of scenario.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/07/2019:
i feel like i am in prison over this...where nothing is right. i cannot even, as an almost 37yr old adult, ignore it and not get blamed! hahaha

4day avg: 2040

planning on eating light and late this evening bc of concert. i am taking an opportunity to eat light since it coincides with work/travel/easy day to manage things.

i'm going to a special organ concert tonight at THE RIVERSIDE CHURCH. it's famous and historical. half hour by train from work. I get out JUST IN TIME to make the concert with a little time to spare. to add to this special occasion, i know someone else who will go! he's the Music Librarian from when i was in college back in 2000-2007 (undergrad/master's part time!) it will be so nice to see him. he's an older, interesting, nice man. Can't wait to catch up!!! he goes to most of the summer concert series there.

had an argumentative discussion with my mom today....  basically thru the grapevine she actually heard about the "elementary school reunion" and about how in a group message someone asked me if i was going!!! she actually heard about it even before i knew about this because i turned off notifications to the group chat about it!  she never told me though that she heard.

and basically my mom "heard" thru the grapevine that i was ignoring the person who asked if i was gonna come! LOL LOL. i wasn't purposely ignoring her in particular, but the WHOLE GROUP CHAT!!!!!! i didn't even know she wrote particularly to me!!!

so get this, i called my mom this morning, telling her that there was a reunion on the same night i had a bbq with my mom and dad and family...and she all of a sudden starts telling me how rude i was to ignore the girl who invited me!??????????

she totally didn't invite me...and it was a GROUP CHAT. not a personal invite. i was ignoring (turned off notificaitons) so what i don't see i cannot reply to!

basically, my mom wouldn't except what i said (she's not on fb and doesn't get it) and said no matter what it's rude not to reply to an invite to the reunion!!!! HAHAHA it wasn't an invite but a group chat where someone asked me in particular if i was going to go...

it was an annoying morning with my mom and reminders of the reunion i was trying to forget about!!!!!!!!!!!!

i couldn't ignore my mom...i told her she has no right to tell me i'm rude, she doesn't know facebook, it wasn't an individual invitation, etc. etc. she doesn't know what it means to turn off message notifications. my mom is clueless, but, still, she thinks she can tell me i'm rude not responding to a mesage i didn't seee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Progress as of today: -2.2 lbs lost so far, only 3.2 lbs to go!

BearCountryGG on 08/06/2019:
Hope you are having a good evening at the concert.......sounds like you plan to. I guess once a Mom always a Mom.....we are always trying to teach....LOL....she probably doesn't know that the reunion brought back some unhappy memories......and was just looking at the socially aceptable way to handle what she thought was an invitation...in our eyes you guys are still our little kids.....and always trying to train you up right....LOL...even when we don't get it ourselves...LOL

Horn_of_plenty on 08/06/2019:
thanks, BCGG, you hit the nail on the head..

i told my mom off. not the best and i could have held back, but her criticisms of my behavior got me rather annoyed at the whole situation, AGAIN.

Donkey on 08/07/2019:
Looks like a good food day... I bet the performance was amazing!

That's too bad about your mom. I think you got it right when you said she doesn't get it. So now you have another negative memory of a negative memory.

I'm not sure why this was so important to your mom, too even bring it up.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/07/2019:
the performance was very high caliber like the guy playing must be sort of like a genius on the organ. lots of hands and foot work simultaneously very very challenging!

i brought it up to my mom bc on facebook i decided to tell everyone they look fabulous on a photo i saw. LOL...and the woman that i particularly think nothing good about wrote "you should have come!!!". sorry, but, i shouldn't have done anything i didn't want to do! i think she's an idiot! anyways, i wrote back "i had a family obligation".

i wrote that asnwer to her bc that's been her biggest excuse for everything she didn't show up to for my sister - she missed my sister's bridal shower and bris of my sister's baby when we all went to her's. so, i wanted to use that excuse on purpose (but i did end up going to a bbq with my parents)

but, because my mom is at the beach and this is DEF where she heard all this info of how rude i am and about the reunion, i wanted to give my mom a head's up that if anyone asks, we had a bbq planned.

however, before i could get into it, my mom went into a spiel of how i am so rude not to repsond to an invite.

NOBODY declined the invite, only the ones that wanted to came would participate in the chat. why should it be different for me?

my mom is friends with her mom, but i think this woman - the one who chatted one line in the chat saying "jackie are you gonna come!?" ...when i wasn't following the chat to begin with...i owe her NOTHING. i don't need to follow a chat.

this goes to show why it's great i didn't go. i don't need to deal with people like this. i don't need to deal with someone that demands any answers or actions from me. i don't need this in my life! and someone, it's following me. i commented on the photos on purpose, to be nice...and i responded to that girl i dislike on the photo bc i didn't want her to think i was "ignoring her comment"

just goes to show, sometimes it's better to say nothing and do nothing! as usual, the more you say, the deeper the consequences.

with my mom, any more situations coming forward, i will ignore her. i repeat, I WILL LEARN TO IGNORE PEOPLE WHO ARE DRIVING ME CRAZY. they don't deserve explanatinos anymore - especially if the explanation is obvious to me. it wasn't worth it.

next time, i'll say, you say what you want, and i'll decide what's best for me!

thanks donkey.

my mom is wrong to just believe other people about a situatino she isn't part of. she someties has low self esteem and thinks i must act like the group does. she doesn't understand people who are different. and she has trouble being different herseelf, she doesn't like to do anything against the grain. she's good friends with two mother's of the 2 ladies going to the reunino....but she doesn't realize i particulary dislike several of the people at the reunion.

honestly, my mom knew bc the other mom discussed it with her, with a very opinionated view. i'm once again reminded of one thing - stay away from that family, stay away from eveeryone in that nasty family. what jerks to atually stimulate a controvery that gets back to me.

BearCountryGG on 08/07/2019:
I just got another take on your Mom when I read your response to Donkey....................Your Mom was put in a postition of embarassment by HER FRIENDS!! Basically they embarassed her....by telling her that you didn't respond. She got on YOU because she doesn't want that to happen again to HER! This is really all about HER...and because as you say...she likes to fit in with the crowd.....she didn't like to be set apart. This really just points out how parents look to their kids behavior and accomplishments to PROVE THE PARENTS WORTH! Her friends pointed the finger at her...and she did not like it...so now...she is making it your fault........she will get over it......she raised you.....now you can do what you want.....

Horn_of_plenty on 08/07/2019:
that's correct, i am sure she was definitely embarrassed by the situation and by being in the position of raising the "woman who is a bit different cut than the rest - me"

yea...i ended up telling the woman (my age) who i don't particularly think well of - i told her i had the notifications off and there was no intention of rudeness as i wasn't following the chat and for her, when she has a chance, to tell her mom/my mom. !!!!! i had enough of the nonsense.

so i didn't go to the reunion, but, the stress still came to me!!! hahahahaha

the woman who started this shiznit should maybe watch herself and how she portrays things to her mom. LOL. it's all nonsense and sadly i wasted a lot of time thinking about it all the past few days!!!
