8am breakfast: wrap 60 with turkey pepperoni 70, potato 100, saag 200?, yogurt with cooked cranberries 200: 650.. 

10am roasted almonds 150

11am ice cream lol...100, and 30 min later some more almonds 50, tea with monk fruit (friend gave me a sample of this calorie free sweetener) added in.

2pm healthy, larger, lunch: tons of sauteed veggies 300? at least, chicken 100, and chips 150: 550-600.

gym around 3-3:30 till evening. early meal & bed again early tonight.

bigger dinner with little ice cream for dessert (but dinner was healthy sauteed greens and turkey breast  cooked with skin on) 600.

total today is still within healthy range and no bingeing: 2150, good.

2day avg: 2250, good.

Plan is to pick up a lot of prepared food to get me thru this week pretty much and later the gym. No other plans, content just staying home and relaxing...body is demanding it...in some ways i should skip gym...but....as long as i get lots of sleep and everything, the gym should be good for me.

We had a snowstorm until like 1am last night. I was supposed to drive to visit my grandma but my dad suggested i don't drive there as roads may not be good...i'll take his advice as I still need to run some errands anyways and pick up groceries for this week...and i need to go to the gym today...Lots to do anyways....but not having to drive to grandma's area will save MAJOR time.

Not that i don't want to see her, but lately i am feeling really tired and sleeping a lot. It's the winter season i'm sure. I slept really well last night again. Lately i just want to sleep - but it seems to be really healthy right now for me to get in these extra z's as it's winter and i'm training harder.

Grandma is not alert, by the way. So, it would be nice for me to go see her, but truth is taking care of my own health is much more important at this time.

Good idea to stay in town. Not worth the risk! Glad to hear that I'm not the only one sleeping more these days. I attribute it to winter as well.

yeah, even the gym by me is more local than visiting my grandma. It's more important right now and thru winter to take care of myself....visiting her is important but not worth the stress today of getting ready early and getting out so early on the roads, etc.

My dad may not understand that - but last night he told me it was ok not to go - so that's what i chose today.

he might be upset in the back of his mind that nobody visited her, but, in the long run, she isn't alert - and i have my health to take care of as I have a MAJOR goal for this summer to achieve....

i don't have a lot of wiggle room this winter for stressful events...lol....but relaxation i have extra room for...sorry for such a strange comment back!

Staying home and relaxing on this snowy day :-D

slept really well :-) yes a sleeping  pill, but also yes to treating my body sooo right!

My sleep has improved greatly as I am making way better choices. Slowly also improving my diet, eating, drinking (caffeine) habits too.

9:30am-11am bigger breakfast: large gala apple 100, 3 egg whites and one whole egg around 150 cal, wrap 70, cooked cabbage around 50 mixed into leftover Indian saag  (like creamed spinach) 250 at least on the saag, and some chips 250: 870...higher than i was thinking while consuming, but it's brunch. :-D

12:30pm 300 cal snack..1150 or so.

3pm banana and peanut butter on a wrap 400. ice cream 100

1650 :-D

6pm: celery, saag 200?, 1 egg: 300 total...

1950, good...

content on relaxing today, lots of sleeping - fell back to sleep after 12:30pm snack...and doing laundry now finishing it up by 6:30pm = relaxed saturday.!!!

 

Snack around 7 I think it was - strawberries 100 2050...

total today - 2350, all very tasty :)

Home: ACV in seltzer and some tonic water...

Work: wrap 70, banana 130, cream cheese 100, peanut butter 150: 450, and some grean tea.

And a processed but high protein bar which i needed, the peanut butter and stuff is good, but not as satisfying as meat in the AM. 220.

total so far: around 670... nice.

1pm Healthy lunch: low protein (dinner will be chicken over a salad...): lots of veggies for lunch (glad i went food shopping for extra food this week, worked out really well with extra & didn't throw a thing out)...a lot...maybe like 750?

1400???

around 2050 i think...

1930 7-day. decent. better if a little lower, but decent :-D

Taking a break from walking today & maybe tomorrow also -  as i'm recovering from standing yesterday in place for like 3hrs at work in the morning....was good to do...but ankle is still not perfect....is good to have done to see where i was at though :-D

I am feeling great...so nice.

My skin on my face is doing MUCH, MUCH better already...just by skipping the coffee and the ice cream...I still had a little of my diet soda and stuff...but quanitites have been lessened and skin is definitely healing big time...as my skin is finally clearing up and that feels so wonderful!

Also reasons for clearer skin include more sleep (much more rest), better eating (less sugar), and the extra days off recently (shorter weeks) around holidays and New Year. all is good. I feel GOOD. Also - shorter work hours - no OT. More walking...all these things have contributed to my feeling good right now :-D

Luckily the snow didn't amount to more than a coating. So thankful for that. Now an easier commute along with not needing to shovel the few feet in front of my garage. I may bring the shovel just to get all snow removed so it doesn't freeze over, but it's only a light coating. Yay. 

I was debating what to do in terms of my last two sick days that i was trying to save thru the end of March at least one of them. Well, I totally changed my mind about them!  In early February I'm seeing a concert in NYC and since it's only a Thursday, I totally decided to take BOTH Thursday and Friday off. I wasn't going to to do this - but right now & especially thru this Winter I MUST take care of my health. And this will be a good way to not get run down!!! So, It'll be a nice 4-day weekend then. :-D And now I have an incentive to really learn of all Maren Morris' songs...

And then in March, when I don't have any days left, I told myself I can take one extra day - no pay - and enjoy one last day off until April when the new days begin again! That's the plan.

One day of no pay isn't going to ruin my bank account and that one day makes me feel so much better about the long month of March.

I'm taking better care of myself than I ever have. It feels really good to do this. I'm not getting sick in the least.

My workouts are good. I keep getting stronger.

My left ankle is getting stronger and so are my legs. I am getting there.

I'm doing really good in my goal to get into the NYPD for this summer! :) Everything is going according to schedule. More walking and getting stronger in my lower body. I feel really good. Better than ever.

Skin is a plus especially helps with self esteem. I'm glad you can feel yourself getting stronger.

Days off are essential, that is why I left my last job because I couldn't earn enough time off for my needs. I have years with the gov't so I get more hours off, it is a blessing.

1908 6-day average, EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!! To go from almost a 2200 daily avg around New Year's Day to tomorrow around 1900 is pretty good....see!?...stick to your goals...it's managable :-D !!!!

Home 6:30am: seltzer and ACV with stevia some diet tonic. did the trick :)

Office : banana 120, whipped cream cheese 80, wrap 70, peanut butter 160 430 excellent and green tea. not in a meat mood today. but whipped cream cheese and peanut butter was awesome, duh!

snack: bar 150. protein bar

lunch: to be healthy... had some basmati rice 150?, some roasted sweet potato 50?, some roasted okra 100, some veggie chicken with a few veggies (all leftovers and tasty!) 250? around 550-600 for lunch. oh and the clementine, calories included.

before gym: Red Velvet Pasty Crisps (Special K) 100 and caffeine

1250

Home: protein muffin 220 with squash 100 & yogurt 100: 420.. (stevia added to squash).

around 1650-1700 :)

Congrats on your 1908/6 days avg...that is good. That takes a lot of discipline. Maybe I should take reducing my cals a lot slower instead of expecting to get by on 1700, and end up at 2500 for the day, just go for 1900 a day...that would be a big improvement for me. Have a good evening.

YES...1700 is low. 1200 is too low I think for most women.

1500 I did before my sister's wedding & lost a lot with that average for a week...

...but for me to maintain a low weight (and i really don't have much muscle in lower body) of 115-120lbs, I can eat 1800 and not have a problem with maintenance. Even 1900 seems to be possibly alright to maintain.

You do not need drastic reductions...and...i find that after a binge day, it's hard to eat much lower the following day...work your way into it - as you said - I agree with you.

When I'm at home and counting calories I normally have about 3 days a week at 1200, then the other days are 1300, 1400, or up to 1700.

Yes that's really low and easier to lose weight at those levels...right now mine is maintenance...sometimes i get a hair up in weight bc i like to push my limits with calories, but i've learned my maintenance is in the 1800s or so.

1950 5-day avg and today was a healthy day and far less sugar and caffeine = success.

Here at the office doing my 'thang. Feeling decent despite a lack of sleep. It was the caffeine but i am not worried in the least as tonight I'll get adequate sleep to keep on going.

6:30am Home: some seltzer and some diet tonic water in my fridge - no need for ACV / kombucha or any other probiotic

8:30am breakfast: banana 120, wrap 70 with extra cream cheese 100 and turkey pepperoni 100: 400, decent.

snack: bar 200.

1pm lunch: had the full veggie salad with a hair of dressing 150?, and more kale 100?, little bits of beef 100? seriously small amount, and small amount of roasted sweet potato like 100 really! total here: 450-500. NO CAFFEINE except green tea today. good...

snack: clementine 50 - maybe on way home and if it's nice, I will do some walking...

Dinner was totally healthy - but around 700 calories. No added sugars or fake things - except for tofu chicken and some tofu. also included cashews, some white basmati rice and veggies sauteed in some oil - all leftovers.

total today is good - 1850 - success :-D need to get off the quick fix dinners and eat healthier meals which i am starting to do...it helps to have enough already prepared at home. so i will be doing more of this. What i grabbed was one of the lunches i made for this week...so now i must put together another lunch :-D maybe i'll cook some eggs either tonight or tomorrow night to add to friday's lunch since i need a good protein source since i already ate friday's meal tonight! was tasty!

Looking to relax and really want a brazilian wax...i'll go after work at 4:30...it's extremely cheap a block from my office - $20 - versus $35-$50 other spots in Queens. GREAT DEAL. so even with a $10 tip, i'll only pay $30...i like to be waxed and it's been too long which is why i'm going...last time was?....hmm....gotta think about that one. def at least 2 months i think??? would like to go at lunch take an hour and leave at 5pm...yep....instead of 4:30...yup sounds GREAT...must also get cash from supermarket before that....all done :)

Wax was GREAT. She took long but she did a nice job for half price! NICE! I always tip her $10 which is 50%. Love her!

Feeling very good this week in general - 3-day weekends are NICE! March will be hard for me...but...i did plan for one 3-day weekend so that should really suffice.

There's something in early February i have plans for - on a Thursday early evening it starts in NYC. It's a country concert. I would have liked to take the Thursday & Friday off so that I could get home late that Thursday (which i still will get home late) and sleep in & stuff...but it's a no go.

I need my days (2 left) to last till end of March..so i have to choose which day i want to take off - that Thursday or that Friday the day after the concert.

I might actually take the Thursday to sleep in before the concert! Especially if i end up meeting up with friends before - or i can simly relax Thursday?. Then I'd have to show up to work that Friday...but only one day before the weekend. Gotta think about it. Most people would say take off Friday but I prefer Thursday so I don't need to be up all day & night and also then I can dress up a little for the concert Thursday & feel my best...we'll see :-D

 AND MAYBE I WILL JUST TAKE BOTH THE 2 DAYS AND CALL IT A LONG A$$ WEEKEND...BUT THEN MARCH WILL BE LONGGG. LOL. ONE DAY, YEP, THAT'S ENOUGH.

 Home: a lot of ACV but didn’t work bc I ate dinner lil later than expected.  Really nice to eat a crab cake as well as half a 6oz filet minon.  Good to get the real protein in me and natural food last night, thanks to my coworker.

11am very hungry! Snack: very low sugar bar, 230 cal. high protein and decent fat. natural type of bar - i may buy these on Amazon - they are good.

1pm - Lunch: healthy – some starch (few chunks of roasted sweet potato! tasted great!) some meat (tiny portion of around 1.5oz filet minon leftovers the other half will be tomorrow!) in a bit of oil some oil:500? - if I finish it.

(I am going to def work on eating better in 2017, LESS SUGAR - lately eating ice cream so often has killed my skin along with energy drinks. MUST do better.  !!!! Lunch was around 500, absolute most, all healthy with veggies, but had one cup of diet coke from friend! it's OK. moderation!)

Before gym: small bar 100, smaller amount of caffeine...I am doing well...i can do this...i can do it all :-D

1200 after gym...will have something small tonight...maybe even a protein bar on the way home and bed early. tired today. NO ICE CREAM. but i may have some squash i cooked up in a protein muffin - as the total sugar is 10g but i doubt i'll wait till i get home tonight to eat...we'll see. either way, it's early to bed tonight again.

I have no choice but to make the right choice – I am laying off all equal and Monster energy drinks until Friday because my skin is inflamed and breaking out too much in whiteheads which is full-out inflammation.  I sorta need to fix this problem since I am an adult….perhaps I should start facing the problem like an adult. Either way, I am not going to drink the Monster Energy drinks but still drinking caffeine in a couple different forms this week. I’m going to LESSEN the bad stuff, see if it helps, versus lay off everything bad which would be a bit of a nuisance as it would really mess with just about everything I eat. Ohhh – I am also not going to have any ice cream this week until Friday. There’s a lot of sugar in it when I eat the whole pint (around 20g) which can be affecting my acne also – in addition to it being a milk product.

So, I will see on Friday if there’s any change in inflammation by not having the Monster drinks, less caffeine, and no Halo Top Ice Cream. I do need to clear up my skin.

Yeah, i gotta do something about my skin bc it's really not improved for a long time. I want cleaner & clearer skin like I should have at 34yrs old...so I guess that can be an additional New Years Resolution to work on :-D i don't want to give up my beloved Monster energy drinks but i maybe can just cut them down...a lot!?

all this stuff messes with skin...these toxins and additives in our food...they come out our skin...our largest organ...so bad :/

Monster Energy Drinks! I tied my first one a month or so ago when I had the sinus infection and I drank the Rehab one. I loved it! Won't let it be a habit, though and I try to drink 1/2 at a time! Guess what? My daughter is being recruited for the local police force! I don't know if she will pursue it, but she is strongly considering it. I thought of you when she started talking about it. Of course here is very different than in NYC and she has some compelling reasons to consider it - more on that later. Thanks for your comments to me!

Yeah i love the taste of many of those Monster drinks. It's odd - some flavors I hate and some I love. Laying low on them right now though. Half is the actual serving size...so you are smart...and half is same caffeine as cup of coffee. approx.

yes, i'm working on cutting those to things down. Not eliminating, bc i feel like i'm being restrained and i binge back on them...but lessening.

Yeah, as a teen i had few in high school though in college i sometimes had bad ones due to late hours and bad eating habits. but the worst acne i ever had was now.

i know i need to eat better...that's a main culprit right now. Already my skin is getting a little better in just a few days of having LESS. Not NONE, but LESS.

I have the day off as a union holiday for New Years Day. If it falls on a Sunday, we get the Monday :-D So nice!

I was up around 8 and decided that since i forgot to put a couple of clothes in the laundry yesterday, that i would do a small load today since it's already built up after yesterday's workout and also added some relatively clean towels in for good measure. haha...i feel better with an empty hamper...less laundry for next week, sorta.

I am reading & relaxing this morning.

Later, I'm meeting up with an older male friend (maybe late 50's), as he lives close and had asked if i wanted to see a movie today if i was free. So we are meeting at the theater (he lives close and i'm driving there) at 1pm to see the Star Wars movie. We are getting an early dinner after that. It's nice to have friends that are close.

...I wouldn't have gotten together with him earlier on say back in my late 20's, but now i have known him several years and i know he is a nice guy. I wouldn't date him, as I'm not attracted like that and the age difference is WAY too much.  Also, his health isn't the best. But either way, he's only a few years younger than my dad and no i am totally uninterested in that. But he is a nice person and friend to me.

I was going to also walk today, but i do not care to schedule any exercise in today. I am a bit sore from increases in exercise lately (cardio) and my body could use the day off.

Happy New Years Day Everyone here on DD :-D

I am thankful to be part of this select and small group of DDers because of the wonderful support we are! Year after year, we've always had a great group of people here. It's awesome because we aren't Sparkpeople or some large network but a very small and strong group. #underdog?!

11am Breakfast: banana 120, almond milk with 2 cups fiber one 270, dried goldeberries added in 80, later caffeine: 470 great!

2:30pm large lunch: potatoes in a curry type seasoning, but no sauce, 150-200, tofu 100, bamboo shoots and veggies in light seasoning 150, 450, and chips 230. 680 - was getting shaky low blood sugar from such a high carb breakfast....and deciding to increase my carbs right now.

total so far 1150 and all decently healthy...yes an energy drink but healthy potatoes, veggies, tofu, fruit....we're doing good :-D

2150 today. A bit high but decent.

2-day 2175.

Later, in about 1hr, I'm off to my cheap gym next to my job bc it's opened normal hours. I've NEVER been there on a weekend. One thing - I KNOW parking will be very simple bc the gym is on an industrial road so less residents are parking there and work isn't open so no workers should be working there as well as the street signs for no parking aren't in effect on Sundays - so parking will be simple.

I'm eager to see how busy this gym is on the 1st day of the New Year....last week it is packed already! :)

And definitely need to work out in a shirt over my sports bra at this gym because I am in the minority being a white smaller girl as most are spanish/mexican/caribbean/indian! so i do not need to further put myself in a spotlight and garner negative attention from wearing not enough clothing...i'll save that for the other gym where I don't stand out as much! :-D 

I hope nobody takes offense...it is what it is....and the neighborhoods in Queens, NY vary greatly depending wherever you go!!!

My New Years Resolution: Get Into The NYPD for July...!

Even writing this resolution, makes my heart race and gets me nervous. No more putting this off. I will train my best & get myself in. It's all up to me, I had put it on hold, it's up to me to begin jogging again around April-May. I can do this :-D  

It's not the normal process of waiting as i did that part already. I just had to get over my own physical injury, then reinstate the application.  I had to fill out paperwork putting my process on hold back when I was interviewed by a cop (investigator really - it's part of the application process). I have only the physical fitness test left...then to go into the academy.

I was given up to 4years from when i put it on hold in Jan 2014 (giving me till Jan 2018). Now is the time to make my goal a reality!

Happy NYE to all! I slept in with help, yes, of a pill...and feel relaxed and pleased with that decision as I'll be out very late tonight. I'd say I got at leaset 10hrs sleep...feels so nice to do this!

10am bigger breakfast: banana 120, cooked cranberries 50, some squash 50, protein muffin in peanut butter flavor 230, chips 210: 660, good!

1pm Light ice cream in peanut butter flavor 240 900....

3pm small wrap with cream cheese and extra turkey pepperoni 300

1200 :-)

around 2200 i'd say total for NYE, success. <3 <3 had a little to drink 150 cal tops?, also water, tons of veggies 200? (tons) from veggies i brought to put on their veggie tray, some of Dan's awesome Italian Sausage and Peppers that he made specifically for me (400-500?)!!!!, and some Ritz crackers (100?) because WHO doesn't LOVE those crackers...and a chocolate (50). total - 1000. nice.

2200. MAJOR SUCCESS.

VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR 2017. MAY THIS BE MY MOST SUCCESSFUL YEAR YET!

I spend NYE with a friend from work who has become a friend in general! ... and my other friends in NYC at their apt in the South Street Seaport area (very downtown near financial district / wall street) in NYC. Very fun & relaxed at their apt from around 6:30pm-12:30am.  Lots of fun. Going home I accidentally didn't get off at my stop because i was distracted lol...by this couple sitting across from me bc the woman was so beautiful and i couldn't figure out why she was with this tiny guy next to her!? it didn't make sense....so i might have been watching them too closely, bc i didn't get off at my stop!!!! dumb! 

LOL, but no worries, it was only 1 stop missed...so i took the track back one stop haha...i wasted around 20 minutes i'd say bc i missed my stop....home around 2:30am....funny really!  Serves me right!

Cute post about he beautiful women with tiny guy -- the shell has nothing to do with who the person really is he is probably a very nice guy and that wins all the time. Looks are very superficial but what is skin deep is what counts. I have always found that superficial people have very little to offer in my life.

Yeah, they were both very young like good chance they were still in their late teens. She was beautiful and tall in heals and all done up on her makeup and her hair done so perfectly at now 2am in the morning. she was really beautiful. both were african american. She was a little lighter and he was darker skin, and skinny whereas she was thin but thin in a more athletic / strong way where he was skinny. their styles were slightly different, but i was just so surprised as they looked so different in style...in outward presentation...in body type...usually it's just not something we see as many couples tend to look similar if you know what i mean? i wasn't being judgemental to be negative i was just surprised, she sat at one point with her legs spread wide in her heals like a real confidence and showing who's boss, whereas he took up little room and she actually shoved (nicely) against him and he moved right up against the end of his seat so he could lie against the wall to the side of him as they were on the end...lol...i was totally watching and i think she knew bc when i asked the person next to me what happened to my stop...that person was like "you just missed it you must have dozed off!"...and the pretty lady across from me - the older teen i was describing - looked at me like she knew why!!! she knew she must have distracted me with the guy she was with!

I gotta tell you...it's all pretty funny and typical for me...almost...i am a people watcher and always find different people and relationships interesting...i didn't even realize that i missed the whole movement of the train for a full stop i was watching them! NUTZ!

I usually don't stare, it was 2:00am so i have that on my side maybe i was being more weird than normal...but as for my own friends - def not superficial.

I hope i didn't offend you in this entire comment?

Home: selzter with ACV and also another drink. good.

Breakfast at work: banana and coffee with extra milk 200.

Late breakfast: wrap with cream cheese and lox 200. (yes it's small and the cream cheese is whipped around 80 cal and easily spreadable so it works, wrap is only 60 cal and lox around only 50 cal)

total so far: 400 :-)

Lunch, maybe early like noon: healthy - potatoes 200, bok choy 100 most, veggie burger 150. total here is great: 450-550...very good.

total after lunch is the bomb: 850-950...:-) snacking 50.

dinner - very healthy - cooked veggies and some tofu...around 450 and raspberries 100. 550.

1550...i will prob have ice cream later tonight :-) yup, 300.

total today: 1850, successful  week again!

7day avg:1898 = EXCELLENT! I LIKE 1800's!

We will get out early at 2pm most probably...then i will go to park - weather is windy / cloudy with possible flurries, but i will still walk at park, then home and relaxing! 

Park ended up being PERFECT and sunny!!! I walked 3 laps with my coworker...going to find out the mileage by googling it...SO NICE TO HAVE A FRIEND TO WALK WITH!

 So I am sooo glad I am a member of 2 gyms. On Christmas, my gym next to work was closed ( i don't prefer this gym anyways for weekends !) so I went to the fave gym closer to me but still  it was only open 7-1pm!

And on New years Day, my fave gym is again only open 7-1 which stinks if i want to sleep in on New Years Day which of course I am!....

...but my gym near work is OPEN this time (not closed like on Christmas)  (New Years Day SUNDAY!) & for normal hours until 6pm!!!! Now I reap the benefits of 2 gym memberships!!!! Really worked out this holiday season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Had to tell you this!

Both gyms are relatively cheap, so it makes no difference $...it's just convenience !

The really cheap gym by work is $99 for 6 months...and the more expensive gym near me is $320 for one year. so the total for one year to both gyms is still reasonable at $420...so i am only paying like 33% more for another whole gym with different hours I only need 6 months right now from the gym close to work as I might just be leaving my current job 6 months from now!  I am training for the NYPD.

It worked out really, really well this season bc they had very different hours of operation on all the holidays - so i was able to plan where to go and not skip any workouts. amazing!

I wish i had a planet fitness / blink by me - those gyms are so cheap at $10-$15 per month. But they aren't close and there isn't good parking.

Very cool and yea ..it is sheap truly .. oh here gym is so expensive and I truly hope if there is a gym next to my home .. I truly hope that .. most of gym is for men bc rarly women here go to gym ! And I just depend on my walk machine , free gym in my college and my aunt give me a nice machine to lose fat im my wast .. Have a good day H

Both the gyms I go to are more for men which i love. I love the energy they have when working out & i feel really good workout out amongst the men!

That's so nice of your Aunt. When i was 20 & 21 I used to go to the really nice free gym at my college too :-D I miss it!

If you can swing it financially (which it seems you can), it's definitely worth belonging to 2 gyms. In my book, I don't see this as extravagant but rather a necessity, especially considering your career goals. But even if NYPD wasn't in your future, it'd still be worth the personal investment.

Yes, that is the reason I do it. I feel it has become a necessity with or without NYPD it's nice to be able to have options regarding one of the things I consider a priority in my life - going to the gym - not a luxury or option...but a priority! Well said J-Donkey!
