oh, yes dinner. it was more like dessert with an overflowing cup of blueberries, avocado tasty brownie in high fat greek yogurt with some sweetener. not even low cal. around 550-600 cals.

gotta watch all my snacking at work....it's upping my cals!

yes it was mostly excellent speakers that held my attention, so it was worth attending :)

some man wants to have lunch with me, but he's 50 with a 20yr old daughter and he works in the city near me which is why but i do not want to meet up for lunch at all...because i do not want to get to know him at all....but he offered me his business card, AGAIN...as i've known him since summer now...grrrr....this happened after the meeting that he attended to...

Around 6 hours sleep, but, slept really well all weekend so it won't be a very difficult day for me today to get thru.... :) Happy about my choices and that i got my weights routine in last night at home! I def do not need to rejoin this expensive gym, i do not think? but there's no other good gym around...so...and i like biking to it...so....not sure.!  

I still like going out to the gym for motivation on weekends that are more relaxed when i don't have many other plans. So, i think i'll just continue paying for it.

yeah...you are right.

it was so nice to try to bike to the gym and get it in that way...cardio and weights in one day...i shall give the gym some extra thought.

it's good to go there to get outta the house and to use their extra equipment i don't have...i wish there were other gym options by me that were cheaper...no cheap gyms by me.

Slept for hours, feeling good now! Woke up a couple times during night bc i really wasn't so tired & went to bed early, but it feels good to have rested so much :)

I have an event to go out to sorta far, at least an hour's drive, maybe more.  I have to do it alone, so trying not to be rushing around all morning. 

Luckily i found one last seltzer can hidden in my fridge, so that will keep me satisfied till i pick up more later today.

I am planning to stay home until around 11:30 when i need to leave to drive to the friend's 40th bday party :)

At home, i have some important tasks to do this morning:

- take care of all my health copay reimbursements since like the summer or even last Spring! :) (good deal with the union...regarding being able to pay yourself back with your own money that is set aside only for this purpose of paying for copays....)...

- laundry

- write a bday card and find the gifts i am giving them, remember to bring also a bag of opened bacon crumbles that i do not want anymore and just bought last week - they said they'd take it lol

- set the slow cooker and put in my cabbage to cook while i'm out :) and it'll last for this week!

they do have a definite hint of avocado in the flavor, but the consistency is sooo good that it's ok like that....very tasty for a breakfast....but not so much as a real party dessert. good as a healthier brownie breakfast, not good as a party dessert :) i think!

Like sliced fresh avocado on many things (sandwiches, eggs benedict, salad). But rarely like tasting it when it's been mixed into something else. Worst thing I've ever tasted was a few years ago when I was blending a giant "healthy" green smoothie. Decided to throw an avocado in the blender. Took a sip and almost couldn't get it down. Took another sip and poured the rest down the drain.......

The walk i was supposed to go on as a fundrasier for Muscular Dystrophy was cancelled due to the storm, thankfully. At least they have my money so that's good!

I'm so glad to be home, because much of the day tomorrow i'll be driving (by myself since the other friend who was gonna join me has bronchitis unfortunately) out of town over an hour each way to a bday party out on Long Island. 

Since I'm home today, I do plan on baking some old and new treats. One coworker literallly requested i make my coconut brownies again! So, that's on the list. they may come out fluffier because i now have the correct cooking appliance, an electric mixer, that i didn't have previously so the egg whites will be much more airy and fluffy!

I'm also making another "fat bomb" which will include pumpkin and cream cheese, amongst other ingredients, to make a "pumpkin fat bomb!" also, if it's good i'll bring it in for coworkers.

lastly, i have enough veggies and cabbage to make another whole batch of slow cooked cabbage again. so, i'm making it for the week, but using a slightly different recipe with NO canned onions since i didn't like them at all in this past weeks recipe. i do have one fresh onion in the fridge, so i'll cut that up! the carrots cooked beautifully in my first batch, i followed directions that since they are so hard to place them at the bottom of the pot so they get the highest heat on them...worked perfectly. it's a healthy recipe and way to get veggies in, so i may put the slow cooker on before i leave for the party tomorrow and come home to a pleasant smelling (sorta? it's cabbage though!) apartment tomorrow eve!

I sometimes feel anxious driving long distances alone, so i was REALLY looking forward ot this friend being in my car with me for the drive, but, it's also a chance for me to work on this issue i have with driving long distances! On the way home tomorrow early evening from this party i'm going to tomorrow, i'll stop on LI at a large supermarket that we don't have many of locally by me to pick up flavored seltzers and other things i can use around the house. 

I just got my garage back after the 7 weeks they spent working on the lot, so now parking is back to being easy :) so driving is good at least, and no worries to freak out about finding a spot :) 

I will once again be able to drive more, and during the week if i need to now! Like, after work if i need something, going to the store will be much more convenient with my car to bring things home!

I refused to drive the expressway north...until D called me one day ( I was 4 hours away) to say that he had just almost cut the end of his finger off and he was heading for the hospital half an hour away...….I got on the expressway without even thinking about it and got here faster than if I had taken the backroads way ( which was my usual route)...from that point on taking the 3 hour I-75 route was a lot easier.

but, yes, i am starting to logically put mind over matter in terms of the driving.

also, i do not like the straight roads, so boring and just to drive straight the whole time...at least i am relaxing today which will make tomorrow way easier i would think!

My friend type relationship with R has plunged for the worst. Without going into detail bc it's just so stupid a situation, he threw a very light package at my feet because i didn't leave his apt lobby fast enough bc he wanted to speak with someone and i didn't oblige his command to get outta there...public humiliation and embarrassment aren't acceptable. this is one of the reasons i cannot date him. He's extremely unpredictable and i think he's bipolar. either way, i'm done with him for the time being....as it upset me so much that he'd ever embarass me, in public, in front of other people. not acceptable behavior. and i'm embarassed.

Yes, maybe a break would be a good idea. Maybe he thought he was being funny...? I say, keep the negative forces at bay, even if it means some distance. It might not be a permanent thing, or maybe it will. All you can do is live in the moment, and you did the right thing.

no, he actually was fuming angry out of nowhere. maybe bc he knew i didn't want to stay and hang out and i was just dropping something off? i'm not sure. but he let something bother him, something minor that i didn't "leave as fast as he wanted from the lobby so he could talk to his neighbor without me there"...and he just boiled up about it. R is extremely easily agitated and unpredictable. that's the issue. :(

I think I'd kill for a warm & gooey coconut dark chocolate brownie right about now. I could pass up a blondie, but would have a difficult time not devouring a brownie if it were sitting in front of me right now.

- I miss the gym atmosphere, but use facebook to continue to post for some extrinsic motivation.

- i enjoy more music options now at home, without headphones...better for my ears and hearing. i have now subscribed to Itunes music for more listening options than just my Amazon music that was free but was getting old very fast as i've been listening to it for YEARS...Itunes apple music has newer and a larger variety :)

- I get distracted at home & if i do not concentrate, i forget what i'm up to (what # set, etc) and also snack more and have to watch that...at the gym, there's no option to walk to the fridge

- i like not having to drive after a workout or waste time in commuting to and from the gym :)

- i like being able to have a wide range of food to choose from when my workout is done, and perhaps saving money not stopping at 7-Eleven or convenience stores on way home

- i love not going out in the dark / out in the cold during the week

- i love opening the window and turning off my air for a nice cool space while working out at home - just as comfortable as the gym

- home is more convenient and even this week i'll have to do a home workout because my trips to the gym lately are on bike and require a lot of free time

- i reserve gym for weekends - especially when i have ample time to spend biking there :)

- gym is more motivating.

- my goals to not lose strength over the winter will keep me motivated 100% to do home workouts.

thank you for asking...this is SO important to me, to improve on...to not have a standstill...to get better...

in the mornings, when i take the E train (not everyday, sometimes F train), there's 4 long staircases up from the E to the street level...i ALWAYS, even when legs are tired, take the steps and lately i RUN up them, getting VERY winded, but i do it!...i try so hard to challenge myself...to improve and be better than i was the day before.

to me, at 36 yrs old, i feel i STILL have the opportunity to improve physically...to make my body capable for a court officer postion (AND that position comes with room to grow & gain even better compensation after years / more education on that job!)...

i KNOW i wasn't meant to sit at a desk...but to work in a more "vibrant" environment...and it's my goal to get this opportunity for myself.

it's just sometimes a task that REQUIRES THOUGHT NOW...and REQUIRES MAKING CHANGES NOW...to make sure i am productively working on ways to MAKE IT HAPPEN...like exercising at home...

to become a court officer, it involves actively making changes on my LIFESTYLE NOW...in ways so my body adapts and changes ...so i can pass that court officer test & get thru the 3-4 month (short) academy...then, i'm good !!! this is my goal.

it's wayyyy more doable than the nypd cop thing was...it rests on my promise to myself...my ability to steer clear of distractions like friends wanting to hang out but when i have to skip a workout and myself making the choice of what i can do and what i should place as priority....give and take...

I simply get very tired at night ... and lately it's so easy for me to get to bed.

work doesn't leave me worrying about tasks to finish, etc....i can go to bed with a very relaxed mind as of late.

Motivation at home is an issue...it is too easy to put it off...but then again...you aren't wiping some one elses sweat off things either...and for me...that is a huge difference. I like the time savings of at home equipment....in the past that made it worthwhile for us.…..

i wrote more back to you above...the home workouts are a necessity since my commute is so long now and my use of public transportation...which drains energy and time...so it's great to be home and stay home.

Boring uneventful day at work.

Conversations are boring. So i'm staying out of them.

Work is dull, but that's a GOOD THING...because i understand it and can do it...just time consuming, but that's also something i'm happy about.

But people...people are bothering me.

I'm starting to get more used to coworkers and we've all let down our guards somewhat and less being nice just because...meaning true colors coming out. not in a bad way, but people's personalities are getting slightly louder at times and also ingnorant comments are more noticable to me...and just other similar things which cause me to want to distance myself...and take care of myself before i'm stuck in this field forever...which my desire is to leave and still want to be a court officer, around 2 years from now...when the test comes out again. and that's why i talk of getting back into jogging training come Spring since time and weather is not going to work for jogging in Winter...i'll just get sick trying to fit it in / or injured.

it was a GREAT jerky..no nitrates, 100 cal a pop.

coworker tells me it has nitrates, i get so annoyed when people talk to me about what i eat...because i do MUCH more research on food than most people...and they do NOT usually give me any good advice...like this coworker, telling me that jerky has nitrates, but not knowing this one does NOT. UGH!!!!

I AM SO PROUD BC LAST NIGHT I WALKED THE ENTIRE 3MI FROM SUBWAY STATION TO MY APT IN SNEAKERS! :) I SKIPPED THE BUS COMPLETELY!  THIS IS HOW I'LL MANAGE WINTER CARDIO! RUNNING IS NOT PRIORITY - I WILL HAVE TIME IN FUTURE AND SPRINGTIME WILL ADD IT BACK REGULARLY.

There is simply not enough sunlight / hours in the day to add running with Winter approaching and turning the clocks back - running i have decided will not work out for Winter. I will push myself again in the spring and for winter i am simply working on maintaning my current weights routine / fitness levels and cardio endurance thru walking and other activity.

Winter is a tough season to "push it" and i realize that it's not a smart idea. 

I'll wait till there's more daylight and it's easier to bike to the track and do the cardio again.

but for now, i'll DO CARDIO still, just walking and transfer it to bike / jog in spring when it's light out and i can get to the track safely and warmly.

for now, cardio will be done as early as possible in the workday, on my way home.

I think that you will find that if you walk consistently from the subway station to home, that when spring comes along, you will have no problem slipping back into running/jogging.

yes, the walking will be good for establishing muscle and time for exercise :) i agree! :) also nice is that it's a walk that consists of slight hills....so it's cool that it's not fully a straight path...the town i start in is called "Forest Hills" and i walk from that town to mine :)

For the ice...I have some grippers that clamp on my tennis shoes....they work pretty well....rough on floors and decks so they are outside only....not too expensive ...around $15 and well worth it.....I have them on an old pair of high tops that I wasn't wearing anymore...so they just stay on those all year around. and are ready when I need them.

Always hated the taste of almonds, until tasting the flavored ones. Love the sale/vinegar, smokehouse, and wasabi flavors. Unfortunately like everything else I like, I have portion control issues with them, so am avoiding them at present.

I'm not a fan of walking, but keep thinking that I need to do something to start moving again. Anything's better than nothing. And the dog would love it. Don't have any plans right now, so might as well get off my butt and go for a walk. Shoes, dog, and some earbuds......then I'm out the door.

I used to have the major issues with almonds too...all nuts i couldn't limit...i'm a bit better now, took awhile :)

music will help your walk. i hardly ever walk in silence...

lastly, one other thing i used to do even more on walks = call a friend / family member to catch up / talk...makes your walk speed by! i still call a friend, but not as much, mostly music now.

D loves those atkins bars too......just got him another box this morning..…$7.....I'm leaving them for him...while I use up some other brands....I can handle the sugar, he can't. He does like the Pure Protein brand...they don't seem to bother him.

i like atkins very much...you should try the peanut butter cups...so good!...but i do not like the pure protein brand as i find they don't have enough taste and prefer the atkins texture.

Apple cider donut, oh my that sounds very interesting! And I saw the pic of the cabbage soup you made - it did look tasty. If I liked cabbage a bit more, I would definitely try out that recipe!

I bought protein bars for my trip and only ate 2 of them out, so I'm going to try having a protein bar for breakfast until they are gone, which should be a week. Then, I will evaluate. I'm trying to get away from oatmeal, and eggs get real old, real fast for me.
