Happy Labor Day :-P

Skipped breakfast bc wasn't really hungry at all and figured i really splurged yesterday anyway!

Morning Snacks coffee and churro marshmallow treats i found bc got ravenous so had a few before driving home 200, plum 50

11am Brunch: English Muffin 100, 1/4 avocado 100, salami 100 sooo darn good. 300 needed this mix of carbs, fat & protein :) hits the spot, you know!? small bag lays chips 200

snack: whipped cream (back on the kick for awhile, yes) and sf jello 150.

Plans for eating at the party: mostly veggies, a frank if they cook them...diet soda / water...i could always have a small serving of chips, but that's it...not overdoing it there as my cals for the week are already higher than i'd like...!

before jog and bike..did this when i got home around 7pm...worked out so well!

cauliflower bread 100 with avocado 100 and chicken 200, plum 50. 450...craving ice cream..100.

2200, excellent

Up and at 'em early...went for a MAJOR food shopping around 9am and home by 10:30am :) Went to a larger supermarket and loaded up on my favorites, snacks, fruits, veggies, and a package of ground chicken to make some healthy burgers for this week.

I am in the midst of having another busy few weeks in September before my birthday which is Sept. 9th so i bought enough things so that i only need to shop now for perishables each week...basically. loaded up on "fun items and snacks" so i'm good for awhile now..until the weekend surely.

I haven't had enough recovery time from my last workout this past Saturday so i'm going to do CARDIO today. which is even more important :) there will be an emphasis on CARDIO this month especially thru the New Year. :)

Seller on EBAY doesn't want to sell me the $30 workout bench lol bc they said it's not good enough anymore to sell !? so i'll have to look again on both AMAZON and facebook deals that are local :) I also will need to buy more workout equipment, gradually.. i need the longer weight bar in addition to the dumbells...the BARBELL so i can also squat at home with weights. i'm splurging a bit as of late and will hvae to go into my savings to cover the purchases...i may have to change how i'm saving my funds to 401k so that my paycheck is a little bigger so i can perhaps add to my current savings that i draw from...i should increase the money in the account i think...but for now i think i'll just pull from it to cover some purchases...and NEXT YEAR maybe i'll lessen my 401k contributions...we'll see...it's better to save now but lately i am DEF spending more than i have in my checking to cover..not a big deal...but i have to decide to either spend less or make up for it a different way.

around 2:30, i'm going to a bbq...not staying crazy long and bringing loads of veggies. tomorrow is a new week & weekend is going to be busy coming up...so i'd like to start this week tomorrow on a positive note :)

Progress as of today: 0 lbs lost so far, only 2 lbs to go!

BearCountryGG on 09/03/2018:
Never heard pf churro marshmallow treats.... If the seller says it's not good enough...then you don't want it!!!!! Love your idea of work out equipment at home......

Horn_of_plenty on 09/04/2018:
they are really good, i guess they have cinnamon and extra sugar on top :) and a little oil i guess. they are good before a workout or for a sugar high lol...

i think the seller is playing games. i went back online to see the product they are no longer selling...they had raised the price from $30 to $55....i think the just want us to pay more for the same thing...either way, i bought one from Amazon instead...no games for me!

Donkey on 09/03/2018:
Cheering you on with the cardio! Yesterday, I was getting ready to mow the front yard (can't do the whole thing because of my back), and I put on my running shoes as "junky" shoes... Thing is, they aren't junky; they are still in very good condition - it was the last pair I owned before hurting my foot. The last time I wore them, was when I tried to resume running and hurt my back.

A big part of me still wishes I were a runner -- or rather, that I ran regularly. I just don't know if my back will let me fulfill that desire any more... but I wasn't ready to give up my running dream by ruining my shoes quite yet.

horn_of_plenty on 09/05/2018:
thanks donkey...it seems that i have other obstacles this year that i'll hurdle around ... learning to prioritize training for jogging.

i am sooo happy that i am getting physically so much better now and it seems like it's a goal worth reaching for...

i know what you mean by saving things...like the sneakers...however, i'm glad you are wearing them now...don't save...live your life now as you can...what i mean is, do what you are capable of now...and try not to "save things" for later for when you can...

happy-1 on 09/05/2018:
good job on the home gym! I need to buy a bike trainer for sure this year

Weight: 114.0

Breakfast: cauli wraps 200, kombucha soon... :)

Candies 150

Chips 300 yellow peppers 100 croissant With bacon and egg 600 coffee 50

Orange and candies and tomAtoes 150

1650.....too much lol big eating day it's perfectly ok tho

dinner: tofu 160, rice 250, veggies in sauce 250?...650

dessert later on: 250

2550. yup.

2day 2325...yuck!

tomorrow i'm going to a bbq but plan to stay only a short, brief time to come home & go to bed early tomorrow night. i also don't want to eat all day there. lastly, i'll pick up veggies to bring and make a veggie tray so we have food to fill up on that is not high calorie.

I ordered this cool thing on Amazon. It's a wrap made of cauliflower and egg/cheese. Great taste. good purchase. each one is only 50 cal, they are small. good ratio of fats/carbs/proteins. i had 4 of them for a tasty breakfast. like panakes.

Off to beach with C...just need to shower and shave first....getting a move on...she'll be here in around 25min!

Progress as of today: 0 lbs lost so far, only 2 lbs to go!

Have a nice time at the beach! Oh that sounds like fun!

horn_of_plenty on 09/02/2018:
Ty we lucked out with perfect weather ;) I accidentally didn't apply sunblock easily

graindart on 09/03/2018:
Going to the ocean / beach is a once every couple year event for us. The closest coastal area is approximately 10 hours driving away, so the kids have only been seashell hunting a handful of times. While the beach is fun, the thing I look forward to most on those trips is the fresh seafood. Being a couple states away from the coast, any seafood that's served around here was definitely frozen.

Horn_of_plenty on 09/03/2018:
wowwww...what a difference between my life and yours!

...my parents are members of a beach club and go almost every single weekend, many times both days, in the summertime! they both still work, so it's weekends only for them.

i don't go near as often as they do. they are much closer to the beach, around 20-25 minutes away whereas it takes me closer to an hour.

BearCountryGG on 09/03/2018:
Cauliflower wraps sound VERY interesting...what brand?

Horn_of_plenty on 09/03/2018:
they are good, but a little plain. they cool thing is they are the size of a smallish pancake and go good with toppings. very low calorie. the flavor is light...let me check the brand now...

i believe the brand is "OUTER AISLE"

I haven't been online much the past couple days...will catch up on your diaries soon!

finally woke up around 9am and slow going till 10am :) woohoo! lovely. sleeping in!

10am: oatmeal and almond milk with a few strawberries 200, peanut butter 100, whipped cream 150.  kombucha now 50..plum 50...550

PRE-GYM: zone bar i had at home, 200 cal..

...going out now (i was hoping to get our earlier, but enjoyed getting organized and cleaned up before going out to gym today!)

2 bananas while working out / caffeine also 250 (biking and gym were from around 1:30-4:30, excellent workout.

early 5pm dinner: leftover chinese 1 pan fried dumpling pork 150 egg 100, iceburg lettuce, chinese veggies in sauce 250. 500. 2 plums 100 AND DOING LAUNDRY...so it doesn't drive me crazy for the rest of the weekend until Monday night right before work that wouldn't be good at all!

2100, good

Soon gym. at 1pm i should be there and workin' out..that's the plan for this AM. And biking both there and back....R fixed my bike breaks and i didn't think he could i didn't even know that they could be moved all around...he fixed everything for the BETTER (as usual it becomes better) ...fixed them yesterday prob took him like 1.5hours...we were just sitting outside near his garage. easy peasy. nice to get out of work early to have made all the plans possible with R yesterday!

Laundry in afternoon

out to a beach concert / playing shuffleboard / walking around with R tonight.

It will be minimal food shopping / planning this weekend & for the coming week...will keep it simple and easier. I have leftovers also in my fridge for today thru the end of this weekend...just need minimal items for the 4day week ahead..i can pick things up on Monday.

Slept in myself today. I rarely ever sleep in and today made it all the way to 9am, about 2 hours later than usual.

Horn_of_plenty on 09/02/2018:
sleeping in is good when you need it :) i tend to sleep much more when i am exercising well.

BearCountryGG on 09/01/2018:
Great idea getting gym equipment at home...what a time saver.

Horn_of_plenty on 09/02/2018:
yeah, it's "about time" to get a time saver. it will be good since coming home around 6pm from work and then eating and getting myself out to the gym keeps getting later and later...i expect my workouts at home not to be as intense as at the gym, but, the important thing is that they'll be getting done and perhaps i will be able to go to bed more "on time"...and feel better for the week. that's the goal..to simplify things that can be made easier in order to stay on track! if this makes sense!

Donkey on 09/01/2018:
Good for you for getting home equipment!! I think you will find it helpful especially in the winter! Just don't fall into the trap that I tend to do once I get exercise equipment in my home. I set it up, and then-- I do not know why -- it's hard for me to use it!

My older, noisy recumbent bike sat in my basement for a couple of years before I decided to start actually using it -- and I used THAT to help me lose all my weight this time. When we got the new, quiet recumbent bike (for my husband, ha ha), there it sat for about a month, until I decided I would start using it for variation at night. I haven't used my mom's treadmill, but I think when the weather turns colder, I'll plug it back in and start doing a mile a day.

The fractional weights are a good idea -- especially for the goals you want to accomplish. Excellent!

horn_of_plenty on 09/04/2018:
yes, fractional weights help with increasing weights when weight lifting, but instead of automatically jumping up 5lbs, it could be done more gradually which means less chance of injury and easier time at increasing the weight :)

2120, 7 day avg, decent :)

Coworkers went out to celebrate the weekend and one brought her daughter so we went out to a nyc NYC buffet: Scrambled egg whites 100,  sautéed spinach and garlic 100,  beef sausage bite and full turkey sausage 150, a nice big fried hashbrown 250, the best iced coffee with milk 50…650-700. Very filling, sorta sleepy now. Lol.

... a chocolate before lunch.

went out to lunch! for real! with Ricky at 2pm when i got home from work! a few pan fried dumplings but didn't eat all the fried part but def had some, around 5 middle part of the pork dumplings and some of the breading 500, and some cucumber salad 100, and some cooked veggies in sauce 250? 750

snack: decaf coffee and chocolates 200

Ricky did some awesome adjustments to my bike...

then we watched a short movie, free on amazon prime :)...

now i'm home chilling. was gonna do laundry, but it never happened. gym didn't happen because weekend plans changed and i was tired after work and knew i'd rather wait till tomorrow, now that i'm free, to exercise when i'm not as overtired!

snacking at home before bed 300 plum and a natural bar of higher fat and some protein and carbs, a healthy natural bar.

2050-2100, wow, excellent!

did at least avg walking today. didn't sit around all day. decent.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/31/2018:
nope, def too much running around...will be making sure to get rest this week and the next couple!

BearCountryGG on 08/31/2018:
Nice breakfast!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/31/2018:
yeah, it was DELISH...would have cost me at least $15 but free :) company card.

Donkey on 08/31/2018:
Was the coworker with the daughter the same one who was putting you down a while back? Did C attend the breakfast too?

Horn_of_plenty on 08/31/2018:
No. the coworker that was putting me down has a son and no custody except for weekends. this coworker, with the daughter, is more like my boss actually and is the one i went to the acquarium with and also to the water park with her. ..

she also told me i need to work faster :( grrr...

i don't know who C is...do you mean R??? he wasn't there because he doesn't work with me and is also getting a new job.

the other 2 coworkers were male. i'm glad i started the day with healthy food.

Donkey on 09/01/2018:
I clarified who C was, but my comment is gone. No biggie...

Horn_of_plenty on 09/01/2018:

Aside from still struggling to leave exactly on time each morning which is per usual lol, I am doing VERY well this week with organization and sticking to my goals!  My schedule and planning has paid off 100%. Tonight is the gym & I feel very good today. I have been able to sleep decently both Monday & Tuesday nights. All is good.

I have a healing large pimple on my face, and i wish it were gone but it's sorta due to me picking with it that it looks so red lol...i have a retirement party to attend with many administration there, which is why i am worried about it - but there's always foundation and cover up! i'll do that...tomorrow...before heading out with coworkers to the event.  !!!

Progress as of today: 0 lbs lost so far, only 2 lbs to go!

graindart on 08/29/2018:
I just had flashbacks to the first day of my junior year in high school. Giant red pimple right on the middle of my nose. Was so embarrassed and self-conscious.

Good job on your scheduling / planning. I really need to sit down and figure out a plan of attack with an end goal. I've been putting it off until the girls / wife head back to school next Tuesday. It should be much easier to get myself into a routine when they're back in a regular routine schedule again.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/29/2018:
there's been other years where i thought i'd "have to go to workout Tuesday after the meeting..." and it really wasn't the best scenario. I find it wiser now to try to limit my activities, if i can, to ONE activity a night at most...because it really starts to get exhausting otherwise.

Planning for me has gotten better with experience and knowing my limits better.

pimples i still deal with even at 35...hormones. women i think face it more than men...your story sounds embarassing...i also had an embarassing first pimple but am lucky i ate well as a kid/teen and my face wasn't full of pimples. i'm lucky for that, probably genetically too.

legcramps on 08/29/2018:
What a Wedding! I just caught up on your entries. You are a brave girl for going; I would have opted out of it entirely, family friends or not. But I am glad you enjoyed yourself and left when it was time :)

Sounds like this C dude is a bozo.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/29/2018:
C is not a nice person. He's full of crud really...says dumb things like having 4 eggs is a good amount and not too much for your cholesterol levels...we all know that's borderline too much ! it JUST cuts it for someone who's completely healthy, according to my own technical research! because as anyone knows, one egg is over 50% of the recommended cholesterol in one day...

and i also know that yawning both relaxes the body and helps us take in air because we need it...not necessary bc there's a lack of oxygen in the room!!!!! it's maybe because WE'D like more...just dumb statements.

he's 28 and a moron who think she knows it all...i left and saw him walking to the elevator...but made believe i didn't see him and closed the door before he came out of his side of the office to enter. serves him right because i don't have patience for someone who is blatently rude towards others, rolls his eyes at me...and says stupid things all the time.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/29/2018:
haha...as for the wedding, it was definitely all i could tolerate and i'm ALSO very glad i left when i did. :) I'm very glad, for one main time this one!!!, that my parents were there for me!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/29/2018:
what i meant was, i was dancing with my parents at the wedding. thank gosh they were there for that!

2075 4day, Good!

kombucha & leftover saag....100

bar and drink 220

small banana 50, wrap and a high protein chocolate nut butter new thing i'm trying for first time 300.

Lunch: healthy, from home, leftovers, anything i don't eat is getting trashed as it's been almost of a week for the veggie part of it....LOX and egg white 100 total, potato 150-200, sauce 50, cauliflower 50, veggies 100, nasty chips 50 (threw them all out after a few)..550, tops. healthy. but too many flavors at once, for sure with the entire meal.

snack:nuts? 150, coffee 50

Dinner: cooked veggies, light sauce 200, angel hair pasta 300?, fruit 100. 600.

meeting was good, got home around 7:30, now bed soon after the dinner i just listed. tomorrow is GYM :)

There's this guy at work that's really opinionated. I realize he likes the last word and doesn't like confrontation or someone that would debate with him...he likes people to agree. I plan on ignoring his presense from here on out as he's 29 and frankly some of his opinions are quite stupid ...i give up...i realize i just need to ignore him and not bring up my views (on diet and food for instance) as he's not gonna hear them. he's extremely close-minded. i'm over it. he doesn't even work with me at all...just pops in...so i realize i gotta mind my business and not his. no more talking with him. he doesn't have my respect. i will not be ignored and frowned upon ever again for stating my view bc it's different form his...not cool. he's a real baby and i do not like his attitude. sorry, had to write it here. i have done good keeping my mouth shut over it in the office.

Because if i keep talking to him and riding his views with my own, the only thing that i'm going to face is MORE dissappointment when he ignores my comments. I have to refrain talking to him for my own wellbeing and comfort...unless i want to keep feeling ignored! i have learned this. no more chatting to C. he's a demeaning idiot.

Union Meeting Tonight, 6pm, home and bed after that.

Tomorrow night gym

Thursday night retirement party

Friday i'll be happy it's the weekend, big gym workout is my plan...

Sat/Sun/Monday: my plans are pretty open for it...i don't mind some extra relaxing...and i prefer not to do any longer drives lol...

horn_of_plenty on 08/28/2018:
nah, still 115, but it was 114 partially last week...i'm still happy where i am at :)

graindart on 08/28/2018:
Had to google "saag", never heard of it before. Not a lot of food choices from India in this neck of the woods.

horn_of_plenty on 08/28/2018:
right? i get it at a place they call it Palak bc there are SOOOO many languages in India that different areas call it by different names, but i learned Saag first, so i usually write it as saag and not Palak :) but same thing! :) i don't eat the cheese, only the spinach in the sauce.

horn_of_plenty on 08/28/2018:
i have some options regarding Indian, very lucky. there's a takeout place on my way home :)

horn_of_plenty on 08/28/2018:
where i used to work, there were restaurants every few blocks! it was an indian area. now, it's basically the takeout place on the way home unless i want to drive somewhere by me, but it's around 20-25min to get Indian from where i live, still good.

BearCountryGG on 08/28/2018:
If someone bugs you and he isn't your boss or your husband...then don't waste any time on him.....life is too short.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/28/2018:
yes, he's chosen not to waste time on me...he has a cruddy personality...and i should have learned by now not to acknowledge him...thank you, it's over with this annoying dude.

Donkey on 08/28/2018:
I seem to have walked into another triangle with male coworker and Queen Bee. So I'm keeping my mouth shut and doing the least possible with either of them.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/28/2018:
i'm telling you, i need to keep reminding myself to TALK LESS. same here.

you can't even try to win against the folks that have behaved this way for LIFE...they are wayyyy to skilled...as is the guy who works on my floor. just horrible personality. where'd he get it from because he actually ROLLS his eyes at people...on purpose...like he can't help it. he's despicable.

kombucha 50

bar, 170, coffee 50, chocolate 50.

Late breakfast maybe: egg, wrap, 150, avoacdo 100. 250-300, a second extra coffee with milk and more chocolates 100...allowing some indulgence today :)...and it's fitting in calorie-wise woohoo.

Lunch: good mix, healthy, from home: leftiver chicken nuggets (yes, i totally saved them from last night!) 200, lays small bag of chips 150, tons of veggies leftover from midweek last week 150...500 :) this lunch was NOT satisfying - reminder to self!

3pm coffee 50 (decaf for the 3rd cup lol) & nuts 50

snack: not sure - i have pistaschios / peanuts at work now, a break from the almonds

early, light dinner: tbd..thinking now just a small bar and seltzer and sleeping early. 600 dinner...

1900 total.

At work 20min late, bus delays....i'll leave a hair late, no worries. no plans for after work today except to go home anyways...want another sleeping pill like i did last night, but will probably refrain - maybe i'll take one wednesday on my way home as they have lasting effects for me thru morning...so i have to take it very early before i get home for it to wear off enough by morning! i took it last night around 6 which was slightly late, but glad i took it, slept thru the night from like 7pm until morning...needed this. was super tired but restless, so it helped me yesterday..i take them every so often when i seriously want to knock myself out and just sleep.

Busy week ahead....

Tuesday tomorrow night is a union meeting, gym after that...

Wednesday: gym after work!

Thursday is a retirement dinner &  just going home to sleep afterwards

Friday we get out early, i'll bike to gym for a complete & full workout.

i would rather have worked out Tuesday but it's not good just to start the workout after a meeting... so i'm gonna do the workout Wednesday....and just deal with it not being a complete 48hrs by Friday lol.

I went to the wedding finally i don't have to write about it anymore! cheers!  I took my own car but did actually stop at my parent's house so i followed them the short 10min drive there from my parent's house! :)

I sat during the ceremony with my parents and during the party i danced for around half hour with my parents. Food was excellent all night. Top notch. Drinks all tasted bad to me except the hard liquor. The champagne and wine tasted bad, maybe it was the glasses they were in. fishy taste. weird. Like i said, food was great. I did take one photo and it was of the cake :) Nobody else was even taking photos. I'm glad i realized this and didn't go photo crazy at all :) I hardly even checked my phone.

I sat at one seat and these girls took my chair accidentally but one of the couples i know didn't say a word to them to stop them lol....worked out for the best tho and in my favor. I changed my seat bc i had to and ended up sitting with a 27yr old friendly cousin of the groom.  Someone new and nice to chat with. He told me his job and we talked about similar interests. Was nice to chat with him.

I left very shortly after dinner, around 11pm before the cake was served. I said goodbye only to my parents and the groom's sister since i'm friendly with her. The groom i said congrats to - he didn't even hear me or acknowledge me - i don't think he even knows my name anymore. LOL. i should have said goodbye to the parents of the groom but sorta left once i had the feeling i wanted to go, all i wanted to do was run out of there. it was like a split decision and my emotions and thoughts were all to just leave.

I'm happy i left when i did.  I ended up knowing a few other random people there.  it brought back strange memories of high school.  too much to talk about. weird connections to people and stirred up some mixed emotions tho nothing too terrible just mixed emotions.

There was the typical unfriendly family friends couple my age that, as typical, were unfriendly.  It goes both ways, i'm not going to struggle to have a conversation with people that need the other person to put on a song and dance for them. if you don't wanna chat, i'm gonna take that signal and not chat with you. I'm done with "MEAN GIRLS." and if you aren't friendly and act like J*ck*ss, i'm 35 and i'm  not taking it anymore!

I was very happy to leave when i did. As for the other girl, the sister of the groom, i did chat with her but couldnt' find her earlier in the night before dinner and during the dancing and when i did see her she was at the other end of my table with her husband & speaking to the other unfriendly couple. there were no seats and i wasn't going over there to tower over them and stand and try to hear the conversation in a loud room which is hard for me as i actually in general have trouble hearing conversation with people at parties that are loud.

so, intead of going to attempt to hear a word or two and not have a good time at that, i decided to let the 2 couples chat and i'd stay by myself for a few mintues which was when i decided i'd be content to go home. I did walk over and say goodnight to the groom's sister and her husband and kissed them both...so then i had to say goodbye to mean girl and her husband that i didn't even talk to like at all but i was gonna do the kiss thing just because i knew i sorta could and had to!  haha ...the mean girl's husband said to me: "you're leaving so early!?" .... well, man, if you were me and you had to sit at a table wtih your unfriendly *ss, you'd be leaving too! so i ignored his funny comment and just left. no cares.  no worries.

i danced with my parents, had a lot of fun. didn't care who was watching. was jumping around like a happy person for i was saying like a half hour. i knew this other man, married i know him from high school he's like two years older, was watching me so i showed off jumping around and dancing like i was the Queen. His sister is someone, of the very few!, that i had major dice with on facebook. she had asked me around a few years ago why if i was brought up like her, i didn't want to get married and do what she and most people do! hahha....so of all people, it's her brother that was there.  he used to play french horn in the band with me and he and the other girl that was also older than me in high school called me "fairy." probably bc i was quiet and small and thin :) i don't care, it never really bothered me but lots of emotions come up when you coincidentally see people at the same event unecpectedly!

I did my best and had fun given the circumstances. besides saying goodbye to the parents of the goom which i didn't do bc i ran out, i wouldn't change a thing about how tonight went.  and that's the story of the wedding. Of course, my sister couldn't make it and so i was sitting next to two empty seats on my other side of me. haha.

Progress as of today: 0 lbs lost so far, only 2 lbs to go!

pinklatte on 08/26/2018:
Sounds like you made it through, at least. And had fun in spite of it all. :)

Horn_of_plenty on 08/26/2018:
yes, and glad i didn't leave any later...i had so much trouble sleeping though! lol...so ready to get out to the gym soon and enjoy this brand new, beautiful day!

happy-1 on 08/26/2018:
I feel like there’s a screen play in this somewhere

Horn_of_plenty on 08/26/2018:
yes, it was a total drama of a night!

BearCountryGG on 08/26/2018:
Well...you can put that behind you now, social obligations can be such a hassle.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/26/2018:
I'm so so so so so glad it's over. i feel a sigh of relief. I have a few more obligations during this work week but compared to the wedding they are cake :)

jasmine on 08/26/2018:
You sound happy to have that wedding over with.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/26/2018:

Donkey on 08/26/2018:
Thank you for writing about the wedding. I could almost feel like I was there ruth you, especially when you wrote of those mixed feelings, as you encountered people from the past. It IS weird. I think that's why I would have major difficulty attending a high school reunion...

Still, I think it's fun to set the clothes, the shoes, the ceremony itself. Not being directly involved allows you that freedom to fully observe.

Leaving before the cake was served... now that is willpower!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/26/2018:
i had eaten much dessert type stuff before the wedding, i was not even tempted...cake isn't my thing :)

it was fun to watch the ceremony, yes :)

it IS nice to observe, yes!

I was thinking that based on tonight, i also wouldn't enjoy a reunion, EXCEPT if it were to have enough of the people i'm in touch with on facebook there. if enough people that i like on facebook would go, i'd go...but if they didn't (and it's only a handful!), i would NOT go either. like Gains says below, to me, a lot of it is meaningless to me...unless i actually like the people...and also if there were dancing it could be fun :) but it totally depends on who's going.

based on the wedding, though, i would also probably not go to a reunion. i'm not a HUGE people-person.

graindart on 08/26/2018:
Personally I'm not a fan of seeing people I went to high school with and didn't stay in touch with. It's just awkward. I try to be nice, but in the back of my mind I'm thinking it's just a waste of time. There's really only 2 ways the conversation goes. Reminiscing about the past or hearing them sum up the past 2 decades of their life. Neither of which I'm usually interested in. I do try to be friendly and listen, but rarely offer up much conversation in return.

My wife is the opposite. She's more than willing to sit there and talk with people from her distant past for extended periods of time and doesn't see it as a waste.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/26/2018:
i feel it's nice to catch up with people who i genuinely LIKE!

it was hard last night. i am not even very fond of most of the people there. i have very different lifestyles now and have drifted very far from the tastes of the couple families that were there.

none of them are people that are particularly my type to hang out with on my own...and with one woman in particular my age, she has always been difficult to chat with...i have given up trying on her :) sooooo not worth it.

i would try to listen and talk, if the person i'm talking with could do the same :) it worked part of the night..but it's nnot like i'm gonna talk to the same person all night when they're married / part of the ceremony....lol....

your wife sounds to be a wonderful lady :)

i am more like you. i also do not need to be around people for long periods of time. i like my personal space.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/26/2018:
by personal space i mean my alone time...i need it to feel my best.

Maria7 on 08/26/2018:
Glad you enjoyed yourself at the wedding and left when you felt comfortable to do so. :-)

Horn_of_plenty on 08/26/2018:
well said :) exactly :)

Horn_of_plenty on 08/26/2018:
I don't feel anything bad about yesterday...like i did anything rude or bad mannered. What i did do, was put my feelings first :) glad you liked my statement. it's been a LONG time coming with these folks.

Weight: 114.0

Interesting thought: men really like my hair lately, seeing the dark roots and blonde ends. i get MANY compliments on it these past couple weekends!, especially when it's wet with gel! weird...but hey, i should take note of this and keep at it!...  haha ;) well, i am single...so, it makes sense i'd like to appeal to the opposite sex :)

Nice tasty breakfast: 2 fried egg whites 100, 1 fried egg 100, 2 Corn tortillas 100, with indian palak spread 150 (big serving), strawberries 50.  and so tasty. will also have some kombucha now 50. relaxing morning . 550.

PM snacks: coconut bar 200, fruit 50, blueberries 50

I  fell asleep an hour from 11:30-12:30 still tired though. but up and doing laundry and cleaning the hamster cage...will prob enjoy come coffee and a granola bar at home, before going to the party tonight, lol.

3:45pm carrot cake flavor granola bar yummmm, iced coffee 200...wow...and this "healthy" chocolate peanut butter cup of some sort. 50....

saturday: around 2300 i'll say. maybe less. food was great. filet minon and all the good stuff. even roasted veggies during cocktail hour. everything good.

I have now some cals to spare at the wedding - i may not drink at all, we'll see. but i did have my dessert for today, at 3:45 so i wont be too tempted at the wedding, lol, for the CAKE donkey. donkey, i will probably not take any photos, i am so sorry, i don't want to be seen taking any photos today or want to. i want no memories of this wedding.

Plans for today are pretty simple - cleaning - hung a new shower curtain liner, hamster cage, full loads of laundry including bath mats...later at 5pm i'll leave to drive to a wedding. i'm not getting my nails done, but will do them in clear if i feel like it... :)

I also did an errand of picking up some food / kmbucha for the next couple weeks - i'm already prepared for Monday now...tomorrow will be simply gym (possibly biking there) and going to a new beach for a Salsa festival afterwards. I feel so good with laundry and food shopping out of the way.

I'm glad i chose not to doll up completely for the wedding by getting a manicure and hair cut...would have been needless spending of $50. better to save than throw money out the Window right now because I'm still paying back my credit card on the following: roundtrip flights to Miami & Paris as well as an untimely car title fees. all worth it!

Progress as of today: 0 lbs lost so far, only 2 lbs to go!

Donkey on 08/25/2018:
Have a good time at the wedding!!!! Try to get a picture of the CAKE! (lol)

I applaud you for not going all $$ out for the wedding, as far as nails, hair, etc. Remember my niece-in-law's wedding in May? I thought I'd be going all out too. So glad I didn't - I did my own nails, had my hair pulled back (comfortably), and wore my most-comfortable best dress. I had a wonderful time (with the one exception of there not being any cake, of course).

Horn_of_plenty on 08/25/2018:
yeah, i realize that it's sooo not worth it right now - especially since i have nobody to take pictures with! i'm not close with anyone going, except my family. my sister isn't even going since she's stuck in the country Hungry with her husband bc of issues with her pregnancy...

so, why dress up so much if my parents don't even love facebook and i can't take photos either!? i will not be taking photos bc i don't want to appear photo hungry especially not being close to people or friends with them even on fb, i'll leave my camera mostly away if not totally away.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/25/2018:
instead, i'm trying to make light of this wedding, enjoy the other aspects of the weekend surrounding the wedding, and feel more relaxed as this month draws to a close. I have come to realize, especially after attending the bridal shower for this same couple, that this is not a very important date for me at all!!!! And that i have a lot of other things to focus on...

INTERESTINGLY, my sister and her husband can't make it....and now there's actually extra seats and i could have brought Ricky...do you think i was offered the opportunity to bring a guest....NO! not that i was expecting it, but, you see, it doesn't really matter if i were to go or not i see with this one....so i'll just go and deal with it for the night. i guess if i could go back in time, i'd just respond with not going? i don't know. i don't know why it bothers me so much?! they are old friends of the family. so i guess it brings up parts of me that i've changed and really don't wanna sit there as the "old me."

Horn_of_plenty on 08/25/2018:
but i did have my dessert for today, at 3:45 so i wont be too tempted at the wedding, lol, for the CAKE donkey. donkey, i will probably not take any photos, i am so sorry, i don't want to be seen taking any photos today or want to. i want no memories of this wedding.

Have a nice time at the wedding...if nothing more...just people watch...at least your parents will be there.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/25/2018:
I am VERY thankful my dad, especially, will be there. My mom i cannot count on to talk with, as she will be more interested in talking to her friends, which is totally fine.

jasmine on 08/25/2018:
Enjoy the wedding and especially the meal!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/25/2018:
i wonder if the food will be good....i hope there's some veggies, if not, i'll order at least seltzer...i hope for an open bar, too, so i can order a mojito, if it's available, without the extra sugar in the glass...lol...we shall see, my expectations are totally over the top!

happy-1 on 08/26/2018:
Hood on you for not going all out for the wedding. spend your money on your own dream adventure!
