Crazy here -

The girl is here for the week - I forgot  had scheduled the whole week (She has 4 whole weeks during the summer). She also said she was going to talk to her monther about living her permanently...I told her good luck. I told her to make a list of reasons why, because I know her mom will be sad. The girl just needs to explain, she thinks it's in her best interest to live here instead of over there. I don't know all of her reasons, just some. But I was in the exact position, when my son decided he would rather live with his dad. It is hard, but he was old enough to decide that - he would rather be in North Carolina than Hawaii, I understood that. Anyway...I wished her luck and told her that if her mom said NO, and she was sure she wanted to stay over here full time - DH and I would get a lawyer and go that route. I just want the girl happy.

Telework - pretty busy yesterday - not so much today. Will need to go into the office on Thursday.

Eye is crazy - can't wait to get to the doctor next week for face medicine. Face is still red and inflammed - not so much new break outs but still stingy and burny. Differen gel has helped - but this is only day 12.

The YA told us the bed bug people rescheduled to TODAY! I wanted to drive over but I haven't decided yet. He asked to borrow the tent. I thought he was going to sleep outside, but he said he was going camping with some friends.

SUnday - we had baked porkchops with sourcream and french fried onions - this was surprisingly good - DH got this recipe of of Facebook. We had mashed potatoes and brocolli as well.

Monday - we had gouloush with green beans and cauliflower.

Tuesday - leftovers of both

No word from DH's job yet.

I canceled by dental appointment - not sure I'm ready for people to be all in my mouth yet.

Have a great day! IP -

A little sun yesterday - Not today!

Progress as of today: 9 lbs lost so far, only 118.9 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 06/02/2020:
D can celled his dentist visits too.....something about them being all protected yet it's their hands in your mouth....YUCK.

legcramps on 06/02/2020:
Yeah, I cancelled mine last week too.

Donkey on 06/02/2020:
I'm hoping that my back tooth problem will resolve itself so that I don't have to be an "emergency patient".

Do let us know when you get an updated on the bed bug deal.

Masters of child custody are so difficult. I hope it works out best for her, whatever that may be.

grannyannie on 06/03/2020:
Hubby and I both had teeth cleaning appointments in March and of course were cancelled. Haven't rescheduled. Desperate for a hair cut but that will have to wait as well - haven't had it cut since Nov.

thinkpositive on 06/03/2020:
I am desperate for a dental appointment as I am overdue for a cleaning and as I’m in the over 65 category they wanted me to wait until September using the Stay Home, Stay safe rule. I went along with their decision but then called back & they said they would take me first appointment in the morning , later in June. I guess others are canceling which worked out for me.

Horn_of_plenty on 06/03/2020:
Is the differin gel too strong to use every day ? Maybe use every other ?

My skin has also been wickedly frustrating with good days and bad lately but a bit too much bad in the mix as of late !

All your meals sound excellent !

My friend Ricky was the first patient at the dentist when he opened up Tuesday and I’m actually so surprised that he went !

Went to the office yesterday - sat at my desk maskless but if I got up to go to the breakroom, bathroom or walk through the operations area I had to wear my mask. I was very busy at work.

I was very busy teleworking Wednesday and this morning as well. I prefer this as the day goes by faster.

I was called by the dermatologist she wouldn't renew my perscription and will have to go in and see her that is on June 10th.

The girl hasn't mentioned anything about Anthony coming over, but we did come up with a plan if this happens. He will only be allowed in one area (half of the downstairs which will be the family room, kitchen sink to wash hands and bathroom if needed) no shoes and he must maintain social distancing.

I'm not a worry wort, but I would rather be safe than sorry.

Food has been pretty good - not a lot of snacking.

Will have a new plan for the 1st....

It is official...Ohio is against sunshine! I think I've seen it twice in the last three weeks. Rain and thunderstorms coming.

Had dreams of tornados and running away from them to be safe. I once looked up the meaning of dreams and tornados represent chaos and uncertainty...I beleive this.

No big plans for the weekend except a spy mission!! The YA called and told DH that his grandma's house as of all things....bed bugs!! We paid almost $3000 for our heat treatment in January - the YA says he has a man coming to heat treat on Sunday for $600. So DH and I want to drive by and see - how can he get a treatment for so much less? I just hope he gets them taken care of or else I wil have issues with the girl coming and going again...Oh my 2020 is just a b1tch!

Have a great day!

Progress as of today: 9 lbs lost so far, only 118.9 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 05/29/2020:
The chaos....it's a thing and it's mighty........sounds like you have plenty to keep you busy....stay well.

horn_of_plenty on 05/29/2020:
Good idea to come up with a plan for when Anthony comes over :)

Yes please update us all on this cheaper bed bug treatment ! Is the area much smaller than your house ?!

Donkey on 05/30/2020:
I think that's a good plan for the Anthony situation. I hope that works out, if it happens.

I'm so sorry you've had gloomy weather. It can be a real downer, I know. We've finally had a break and will enjoy some cool, sunny days this weekend. Your time will come soon, too.

Oh you MUST let us know about the bed bug treatment!

Maria7 on 05/30/2020:
Oh, goodness, I know that set your alarm off about the bed bugs after all you went through, bless you heart! Yes, better safe than sorry, any day!

Lots of ramblings and thoughts...

Sunday I went out - first time going some place other than work for two months. On the way we passed a community college - they had a big display on a field that was so beautiful. It was to represent all the graduates. It was touching and for the first time I felt sad for the ones who couldn't partake in the ceremony.

We were going to the Home Store (home decorations and stuff). Lots and lots of people there for the big sale. I didn't know there was a big sale...so great for me. I did have my mask on. About 80% of the people had masks on.  There were one way signs on each aisle that I didn't notice until I walked down a few aisles the wrong way. I got hot and irritated with my mask on. Why was I wearing this stupid thing?  Once I got in the long line at 1:28...I people watched of course. I wondered why the people NOT wearing masks weren't and what did they know that I didn't? I maintained my distance, but then I touched and picked up a lot of stuff and then wondered how well my mask would work if there a virus on those things. Not just COVID-19, but any virus. We got out to the car about 2:15 - so it was a good 30 minute wait in line.

I was better when I got home....

Monday the girl came over and DH smoked a lot of meat...turkey, chicken, ribs.

Once the meat was smoked DH had it laid out on the counter. It looked disgusting to me. If you've ever seen 600 pound life or any weight loss show with skin removal surgery...all the meat looked like the skin removed. It just really disgusted me. I had a hard time especially with the turkey...I don't like turkey anymore. I had a few ribs and this was hard for me too, especially after I bit a piece of beat and all the other stuff came off as well - all the - i don't even have words for what it is - the membrane that protects the bone I guess.  And then I wonder why we even eat ribs.

DH told me a story that was told to him by his best friend's wife's sister - her name was Dot. He said Dot was a cook in a prison for a very long time and she learned this story from someone in the prison. She said the slaves started eating ribs, because that is the only portion of the pig the owners would give the slaves to eat. So the slaves cooked up the ribs and learned to cook them well and ate the meat from the rib bones. They cooked them so well, this turned into what it is today with rib cookoffs and let's all eat a meal made with ribs.

Me...I think I was more happy eating salad - so after all this disgust...I may be back on my vegetable kick!

And the girl left at 7:00....then soon she texted me the question....the question I will have to answer...I am struggling with this so I am trying to think through my answer here.

THE Girl: When can Anthony come over?

OMG...how do I answer this?

Me: At first I thought about being funny and my reply was: IDK you are lucky you get to come over

(Because she has step nieces and nephews running in and out of her mom's house and we don't know where on earth they are coming from or where they have been.)

TG: Do you have an idea of when?

M: what are you going to do? How long will he stay? Does he have a mask? Will your dad have to go and get him? Has he been around anyone with corona? Does he know anyone with corona? Has he been around anyone who may have had corona and recovered? Has he been tested for corona?

TG: What we used to do. The usual time when he came over before. Most likely will. I'm sure he has a mask he was messing around with one. Not that I've know of. No he doesn't. No he hasn't he doesn't leave his house. He's never gotten sick.

M: How does his family feel about him coming over?

TG: His mom is OK with it.

M: I'll think about it.

DH and I have had a long conversation about this...my first thought is - previously when the kid came over we had a love seat in the family room - we have since gotten rid of this love seat - so I worry about where he will sit - there are now two living room chairs and a rocker down there - great - social distancing...they can remain six feet apart. And then DH has already been in the vehicle with him when they "surprised" the girl that one day...and that has been well over two weeks ago - wouldn't we all be sick if he had it then?

I can never be sure and I just want to stay safe...

We have to wear masks at work - with the issues I've been having with my face - this is not good for me.../

Work on puzzle continues, I may be 1/2 finished.

I will continue to wash hands and pray to stay safe and sane.

Have a great day! IP

bearcountrygg on 05/26/2020:
I watch that show too......I think if that meat reminded me of what they remove in skin removal surgery...I probably wouldn't want to eat it either.....nothing wrong with being a vegetarian! Turkey just messes up our stomachs...so we rarely eat that. Now ribs.......those are hard to resist here. Does the girls mom let Anthony go to their house?

innerpeace on 05/26/2020:
No...the girl doesn't take Anthony to her mom's house because her step-dad is a crazy freak and she said she doesn't want Anthony to meet that side of her family yet. I see the point. This is the step-dad who she can't tell she has service on her Iphone. And I'm pretty sure it also has something to do with her step-sister.

horn_of_plenty on 05/26/2020:
I also wear the masks inside places of enclosed business! Smart thing to do!

I may be sorta off my meat kick soon too and craving veggies :-)

Donkey on 05/27/2020:
I'm having some difficulties with meat lately too.

What you described at the store is actually why I've been avoiding shopping, putting things off as long as possible. Example, I'd like to buy new pillows and birdseed but that's not essential.

I'm going to be a stick in the mud and vote NO for Anthony coming over to the house. Outside OK, maybe.

Innerpeace - Friday May 22, 2020

Weight: 328.9

I don't know what it is about chicken. But sometimes I get a good piece and sometimes I don't. Last night's chicken was rubbery and tough and just yuck to eat. Must have been an old bird or something. I have encountered this more and more lately...or mentioned in another post, maybe this is my taste buds changing who knows.

DH worked really hard with his salad and chicken this week...now he says he wants to smoke ribs for Memorial Day.

Came into work today...but leaving at noon - we get 2 hours early release for the holiday and I am added two hours of leave to that.

No big plans over the weekend. DH and I did yard work yesterday because it is supposed to rain most of the weekend, at least the temperature is more spring/summer like.

We planted a lot of flowers.

I am working on the Thomas Kincaid puzzle, it is about 1/4 of the way complete. I am not racing to get this one done, I work on it an hour here or there. I also started playing a computer game - Seeker's Notes - it is relaxing.

Still needed to get my dogs' nails clipped. Will look more this weekend.

I actually got dressed for the office today - and the good news is I can still wear my capri pants from last summer, so that is a big, big plus for me.

UPDATE FROM WORK - also heard that DOC is in no hurry to return to full-time office work - it will be a very slow process bringing everyone back on board - they are talking August and then it will be sporatic work weeks- and they are writing mask wearing policies - so I guess that will be the norm.

DIFFEREN GEL - one week on differen gel - helping with redness and healing - maybe two more little new pimples arose this last week - not the ugly big cystic stuff.

Have a great weekend! IP

We have run into some tough birds too....and we found it very unappealing as well. I'd rather not have chicken if it comes to that.

Horn_of_plenty on 05/22/2020:
Would you ever clip your own doggie’s nails maybe with the help of your Hubby ??

Lately I’m getting a lot of pimples on my chin area :/ it’s a mix of hormones and possibly the mask

innerpeace on 05/26/2020:
I have tried. This dog is crazy and I've made him bleed a more than a few times, so it is better someone else do it. He has an appointment today.

Donkey on 05/23/2020:
Lately I've had some issues with the texture of chicken as well. It's not pleasant. Wonder if it's somehow connected with the processing plants and COVID.

Maria7 on 05/24/2020:
I bet your flowers look beautiful!

Innerpeace - Wednesday May 20, 2020

Tuesday - rain.

I worked some - telework - I never really realized how much extra stuff I can actually do at the office. Not just my stuff but stuff for other people and just busy work. Here i do my job and I am busy maybe 4-5 hours a day. The Governor lifted the stay at home order so I may be able to go back to work after Memorial Day. Maybe. Just when I started liking working from home....

DH picked up the girl and took her to the orthodontists. She hasn't been sense February and now is not a happy campter. She knows her mouth will be sore at least a week after...

We've had salad and chicken breast for dinner the last two nights. Tonight the same. DH is trying to get his blood surgar down and he can go to bed at 120 and wake up at it is 154. He is concerned and says he will start walking in the morning again. He didn't want to have to start taking insulin shots.

B: cereal - Crunch Berries - Yes, this cereal is not tasting like I remember so it will go home with the girl for her Mom's family to eat. YUCK they have just ruined most things.

L: TBD I had Bugles yesterday (I haven't had these in a long time - and these too do not taste like I remember. They are too thick and hard - not light and crispy like I remember them to be.

D: salad and chicken breast.

No snacking today.

Have a great day!

Donkey on 05/20/2020:
Good for husband for taking steps to address his diabetes!

I suppose you will be returning to the office soon.

bearcountrygg on 05/20/2020:
Blood sugar is a difficult one...D also is trying to stay away from the insulin shots.......his sister is on 5 a day....no fun.....I agree...they drew us in with great flavor and food textures....and then the cheapened everything and ruined it all.....and bugles......they used to be so good......and who has never put them on their fingers...LOL

Horn_of_plenty on 05/20/2020:
Lol sorry your bugles and cereal wasn’t as you remember! I have been having similar issues actually with some of the things I was craving for which now I am losing the taste for! Also our tastes change as we get older

Donkey on 05/21/2020:
^ Horn is right, that our tastes change as we grow older, but I can attest that the Bugels are made differently now and taste completely different. Different texture altogether.

Not sure about the Crunch berries. Shine research may be needed.

legcramps on 05/21/2020:
Never was a fan of bugles or crunch berries, but it's sad that they changed the product into something of less quality than it used to be.

Well, at least you won't crave it!

Innerpeace - Monday May 18, 2020

 Happy Monday!

Saturday it was a nice day. We did some yard work and planted some flowers. I planted some creeping Jenny in my pots on the porch rail, these are supposed to grow and hang down like curtains...I say supposed to, because they are my plants and well, things don't usually work out. We planted some hydrangea and hybiscus. DH talked to one of his high school friends that said he just cleaned up a hoarder house and we took a drive to go see a hoader clean up but people are so dramatic. There was like two bags of trash there.

We drove by the Dairy Twist and there were tons of people there so we drove on. We found a Dairy Scoop in another town and we when arrived there wasn't much people. I stayed in the truck and DH and the girl got in line. The people came up behind them were not practicing social distancing. I kept telling DH to maintain the social distancing and he kept sayings...it's not me! Everytime I move up so does she! He knows what to do! He passed gas and she stepped back! The girl is mortified and comes back to the truck! The longer we stayed the more people showed up and the more crowed it got...acting like everything was back to normal. It was a very uncomfortable situation for me and solidified the reason why I don't go out.

Saturday we had doritios taco salad which turned out way better than expected.

Sunday DH grilled us steak and we had grilled corn and salad, it was very good. He also grilled some chicken for salad tonight.

Monday:

B: shredded wheat, iced coffee.

It rained most of Sunday, I got the laundry finished and cleaned the kitchen.

Monday telework and rain!

Day 5 of the differen gel...face is still inflammed but seems to be getting better - less red.

Have a great day!

Progress as of today: 9 lbs lost so far, only 118.9 lbs to go!

Donkey on 05/18/2020:
Happy Monday! Your weekend weather sounds a lot like mine!

That's too funny about the ice cream line, or rather, your husband's solution to social distancing. What is wrong with people? Glad it worked! And I'm with you, not going to do large crowds any time soon.

Here's to a new week! Cheers!

bearcountrygg on 05/18/2020:
We are staying out of busy areas too....we have only had 5 cases in our small county...and when i do shop in the stores...it always early morning...with a mask and sanitizer when back in the car. Glad to hear that your facial treatment seems to be working....I'm sure you will be glad when you don't have to do that anymore if it's irritating.

Maria7 on 05/18/2020:
Very funny about the gas, ha!

Horn_of_plenty on 05/20/2020:
If you post photos of the plants you worked on I’d like to see !!!

Kept busy pretty much all day teleworking...if you can believe that!

We decided to order out for dinner. I had bacon and eggs and 2 pancakes. For not knowing what I wanted, this was very good.

Worked on one of the puzzles last night.

The girl acted as DJ and played me some music and talked a little.

I am only teleworking until noon today...just because

B: blueberry shredded wheat, iced coffee

L: TBD

D: TBD

DH is supposedly going shopping today for some things.

AND if finally was able to get in touch with unemployment...and one little thing was overlooked, however, it was fixed and 7 weeks of waiting, he will finally get a little money on Monday...so that is a relief...I can pay the mortgage now.

Day 2 of Differen gel treatment for my face....we will see how this goes - package even says it my get worse before it gets better. OMG how much worse could it posslbly get? My face is so bad right now.

Everyone have a great day! IP

OHHH...breakfast for dinner...love that. I have not had pancakes in forever.....that really sounds good. I'm glad the girl got involved.....sometimes rare in the teens...gotta relish those times when they happen. Glad to hear that you finally was able to get in touch with unemployment.......we still haven't even gotten the supplement check...and it sounds like it will not arrive until late june.... Hope that the face treatment sounds worse than it is.....

Yayyyyyu I’m glad D Will get the money he’s entitled to!!!

Telework yesterday...

The toilet fixing venture on Tuesday was a bust. DH went and purchased another part and after working all morning, it seems he has it fixed. YEAH!! no more running toilet.

DH picked the girl up and they stopped at Quaker Steak and Lube for dinner. I chose a salad with chicken strips. The chicken strips were rubbery and hard and just yuck, i gave them to my dogs. It was gross and I will never go there again.

After DH and I drove to Penfield, OH about 20 miles away and purchased 2 puzzles for the low price of $10.00. They are both Thomas Kincaid and well worth the trip and drive out there, it was a nice evening...Now just hoping I don't lose any pieces. They are brand new puzzles never opened.

Telework today.

Training classes to do today and a conference call.

B: frosted mini wheats, iced coffee

L: TBD

D: TBD

The girl is here until Sunday.

Not alot going on. Have a great day!

Progress as of today: 9 lbs lost so far, only 118.9 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 05/14/2020:
A little trick my Mom used to use with puzzles was to get out her ( saved disposable pie tins)...LOL...then we would separate the pieces into colors...they even stack well...and are easy to sort through...keeps them contained and prevented us from knocking them on the floor.

Maria7 on 05/14/2020:
I love Thomas Kinkade paintings. I am not good at putting puzzles together but have seen some that were very beautiful. I know you are happy your Hubby got the toilet fixed. We had to have ours, that had a crack in it and was leaking, replaced recently.

Horn_of_plenty on 05/14/2020:
Toilets can be hard to fix did he watch a UTube video?

Sorry your chicken strips were bad !!!!!

Donkey on 05/15/2020:
While beautiful, the Kincaid puzzles look like they'd be difficult, at least to me. It must feel good to finish one up. Do you leave a finished puzzle out for a few days to admire?

Innerpeace - Tuesday May 12, 2020

Made the meatloaf and mashed potatoes for dinner.

Sleep last night was crap...weird dreams and I woke up twice thinking someone was in the house. DH snoring and not phased. Dogs not barking so I decide to go back to sleep. Again awaken by a loud noise...dogs still asleep husband still snoring...and then it hit me, the cold gust of air...who was in the house, how did they get in and why aren't my dogs barking? I laid as still as I could and thought about going into the bathroom and hiding so whoever was in the house would shoot DH first. I laid there long enough for my heart to calm down and then I crept out of bed. It was quiet and the street light shown brightly through the spare room window lighting the hallway. I didn't see anything in there. I got to the computer room and there it was...the window had flopped down, making the noise I heard. It sometimes does this. These are the windows that pull out to be cleaned easier and sometimes when this one as been raised it sometimes doesn't catch like it should and flops down occasionally. It hasn't happened in awhile and apparently this noise doesn't phase my dogs.

Song of the day...sign of the times:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sayh8ZASxk8

B: bagel with cream cheese; iced coffee

L: left over meatloaf sandwich

D: left overs from the last three days - spinach chicken lasagna rolls, mushrooms and meatloaf, a combination or one or the other.

Spent the day teleworking and doing some work. Also tried to fix the toilet that has been leaking or running for the last week. It is better but don't think it is all the way fixed.

Bought the girl a Stitch light made out of a Crown Royal bottle with purple lights, it is cute.

Anyway, have a great day! IP

I’m glad you found the culprit window !!!! I get woken up on this apt whenever it’s very windy outside ! So frustrating !

Donkey on 05/13/2020:
That's so funny about your dream! See, you knew something was up, and your brain wouldn't let it go until you figured it out. Smart idea to use the dogs as a cue that nothing was invading your home!

had a long post about my sadness..but I closed the window and lost it all

the gist of it was...

The weather in Ohio sucks @ss!

DH hasn't received his unemployment yet and I am draining our savings account to pay bills. The state of Ohio has put a delay on the payment because of his child support order. DH has paid the child support order and the state is waiting on a system sync!! WTF ever!!! STRESSFUL!

My son didn't call me or text yesterday. I did talk to him Thursday night, but NOT the point!

My mom and sister are fine...acting like there is NO pandemic, if they don't worry, why should I worry about them?

Went to the office today and got some things finished.

Heard this song and cried the whole way home:

Bad son! Sorry he didn’t call you! Maybe he’s lost in his own mind !

I’ll listen to the song later :)

I hope dh gets unemployment soon - then I guess you could put some money back into your savings ?

bearcountrygg on 05/11/2020:
Sorry that you lost your post......I know that feeling well. Things are just hard right now and you aren't alone in the weariness of it all. Love the song and loved the video as well.

Donkey on 05/12/2020:
I'm sorry you had a rough day. Hopefully today will be better.

I don't think we've received our stimulus check yet either...
