This is why the key lime pie had so many calories.  the sweetened condrnsed milk alone had nearly 3000 calories.   then the top had whipped cream around the edges.

Ned This LOOK BEAR!   almost as bad as peanut butter.   must be why that key lime pie had so many calories.

Progress as of today: 21.6 lbs lost so far, only 4.4 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 07/22/2021:
Yes.......22 grams of sugar......if you were making the truffle recipe....and instead of making 8...made 10...each would probably be around 150 cals..( guessing because I'm not sure what cocoa would be....possibly less.....does have some protein and vitamin A........

Jacky82020 on 07/22/2021:
Cocoa is fairly low cal.

bearcountrygg on 07/22/2021:
I can see that it could easily be confused with evaporated milk........but there is a HUGE difference. They would not be able to be used for the same things for the most part. One is milk...the other is heavily sugared.

Jacky82020 on 07/22/2021:
Yep, it’s entirely different!

bearcountrygg on 07/22/2021:
Also I see that they are warning against boiling the can now....they have another way of preparing it that is safer....pour it into a pie dish and cover with foil, place in a water bath and i believe put in the oven......It's mentioned in several places online......todays cans are quite different then they used to be anyway.

bearcountrygg on 07/22/2021:
yup........you know what is low ww points was lemon meringue pie....During a ww class back in about 2000....The teacher handed me a ww restaurant book and told me to look up the points in a lemon meringue pie in any restaurant...3 or 4 others had other things to look up.....when i found it...even the teacher was shocked...and had to look for herself.......everyone changed their minds about lemon pie that day...LOL....I bet there are some good recipes out there for that with lower cals.

Jacky82020 on 07/22/2021:
Lemon meringue is made the same way? I love meringue. Better than whipped cream.

bearcountrygg on 07/22/2021:
I just googled low cal lemon meringue pie recipes and there are a lot of them out there for under 200 cals per serving...the egg white ( meringue)...are super low cal....some corn starch....low...lemon low....

Jacky82020 on 07/22/2021:
Beats key lime!

bearcountrygg on 07/22/2021:
No sweetened condensed milk in lemon meringue pie.......why couldn't we make it in cupcak tins.......with a graham cracker crust on the bottom......that would control the size...of course with the meringue it wouldn't keep too many days refrigerated....but it would control the size of the serving.

Jacky82020 on 07/22/2021:
Sounds good! They do sell small graham crackers pie crusts

bearcountrygg on 07/22/2021:
I went to see what WW counts them these days and it is higher than back then...( the way they count points now is very different)....I think then it was 3 points...now the lowest is 8 points.....back then we used a sliding scale that totaled things very differently.....but I still think it could be done in a way that could make them lower.

Jacky82020 on 07/22/2021:
Probably so. Anything except sweetened condensed milk. Lol

horn_of_plenty on 07/23/2021:
will review, so do not delete this!

Jacky82020 on 07/23/2021:
All’s we’s saying is sweetened condensed milk is evil! Drink of the Devil! Lol. Close to 1000 Cals a cup. Funny thing is those 500 cal little slices of pie weren’t all that filling for 1000 Cals total. The Ch’King sandwich & onion rings are about the same & satisfies me all day.

Donkey on 07/23/2021:
Crossing key lime pie off of my list. It is just NOT worth the calories, and I don't like it all that much.

Jacky82020 on 07/23/2021:

(CR & IF & Exercise)
Weight: 111.8

Hah!   Realized why my homemade Nutella was so dark!   I used "special dark cocoa."   just noticed when I added some to the yogurt.   duh!

by way of changing diet, I'm back to nonfat Greek yogurt.   add cocoa, instant decaf coffee and stevia. Yum!  17 gms protein in 90 cal serving.   buy the quart container at Walmart.

So the PB powder Nutella was wonderful!   used powder, cocoa & sugar free hazelnut syrup.  Soooo good!

This is one pd of ginger purchased on Amazon.   will freeze & grate as needed & it will last a long long time

The cornflaked chicken looked like I poured a box of cereal on the chicken.   LOL.   nothing like the pic on the box. And I did crush them, but maybe not enough?   these were oven baked. next time I will crush more & air fry.   then back to breadcrumbs, panko or otherwise & I will feed the cornflakes to the wild birds.   also found the Popeyes copycat sauce recipe & made it with reduced fat mayonnaise which is ~1/3 the calories.   tasted the same to me.   haven't had regular mayonnaise in the house for decades.

tried the PB2 coco/PB and loved it!   anxious to make my own from the Walmart powdered PB. Will add cocoa & a sweetener if needed.   made 4 tablespoons and ate it all, on top of English muffins with sugar free blackberry jam.

was pleased to see numerous reviews from ppl saying the Walmart powder tastes better than the name brands that cost twice as much.   Also anxious to get the Torino sugarfree hazelnut syrup so I can try my hand at a reduced calorie Nutella.   love that stuff, lol but threw my last jar into the trash because of the hi calories.   think it's 100 a tablespoon.

Progress as of today: 22.2 lbs lost so far, only 3.8 lbs to go!

Donkey on 07/20/2021:
Oh I love Nutella! That's so cool that you've found a way to make a better version of it.

Looks like you have enough ginger to last you a while. For me, a little goes a long way. It's very good for sore throats, too - not straight, but in a juice or a tea.

Jacky82020 on 07/20/2021:
It will last literally for years in the freezer. I grate a bit as needed for Chinese sauces. I should try ginger tea since i have so much.

Donkey on 07/20/2021:
Maybe 111 is your happy number?

Jacky82020 on 07/20/2021:
Could be, but a constant effort. I’m fixing to reread The Switch that gets into all the disease free longevity research. Need some motivation to maintain.

Also, read those positive reviews on the Walmart PB powder. Ppl using it in pancakes, waffles, protein drinks & all kinds of stuff. Some added it to noodles & vegetables for a Thai taste. Love Thai food, but haven’t gone there for years. Lots of salt and oil/fat.

horn_of_plenty on 07/20/2021:
all that ginger looks great. since i live in queens, ny....you bet i can find ginger like that in many supermarkets so no need to order online. if you can take the taste, it'd be good to put it in a drink...sorta like your other tonics you have made...i think you did an apple cider vinegar one?

those seem to be nice eats you are ordering!

Jacky82020 on 07/20/2021:
I’m sure you could find anything and everything there! I did not want to go traipsing around town for ginger. The $8 a pd price seemed ok to me. Not an issue because it will be so slowly consumed.

horn_of_plenty on 07/20/2021:
i never liked the PB bc i couldn't get it to taste like anything...it didn't have enough flavor for me...but i'm sure mixing it with things like you do would work well. and i'm positive the torino goes a long way!

Jacky82020 on 07/20/2021:
It tastes like peanuts to me! All they do is remove 90% of the oil, leaving protein & carbs behind.

Think I overdid the cocoa last night. My concoction was very dark & tasted somewhat like Xtra dark chocolate, but not enough to overwhelm the hazelnut syrup. Actually excellent! This will be my night time dessert for a while, enough M&Ms and frozen bananas for now.

Donkey on 07/20/2021:
Ohhh extra dark chocolate Nutella - this could be Heaven in a jar...

Jacky82020 on 07/21/2021:
Yummy! I’ll post a pic. Had no idea where the dark cocoa came from, Been on the shelf for ages,

Horn_of_plenty on 07/20/2021:
yes, i'd prefer extra dark chocolate or nutella too! love extra dark!

also your yogurt sounds great! i used to add flavored stevia to greek yogurt...now i do not buy flavored stevia anymore (lost my taste for it and just prefer plain stevia!)

nice to see you switching around your eats and going back to what works for you!!!

Jacky82020 on 07/21/2021:
I just get bored with all the same stuff after several months. A few things like the Normandy Blend vegetables are staples, but I got tired of cabbage, stopped & resumed. I do like it stir fried.

Horn_of_plenty on 07/20/2021:
take a picture of this new nighttime snack if you are so inclined!

Jacky82020 on 07/21/2021:
I will!

happy-1 on 07/20/2021:
Oh this all sounds too delicious

Jacky82020 on 07/21/2021:
Thanks! Do you use an air fryer? I love mine.

happy-1 on 07/21/2021:
And ginger is super easy to grow. Especially if you have a sunny spot in your bathroom.

Jacky82020 on 07/21/2021:
I’m going to investigate growing ginger just for fun. I live in the snowy northeast. Will have to see if it’s doable.

KathyBlue on 07/21/2021:
Eeek, home made Nutella! Sounds dangerous, haha. I wish there wasa 100% hazelnut butter like they have the peanuts, almonds and cashews now! I am a big fan of almond butter because it's so low on sugars it's amazing. Half of what a 100% pb has, and that's my primary focus nowadays, to consume real food that doesn't contain too much sugar.

Jacky82020 on 07/21/2021:
Yeah, but all the nut butters are so high in fat. They suck 90% of the oil from the PB powder. That reduces the calories by 50% because you still have protein & carbs. Maybe the nut butters work well for keto diets.

Jacky82020 on 07/21/2021:

Maria7 on 07/21/2021:
Nice photo of the ginger. Hope you are having a good day.

Jacky82020 on 07/21/2021:
Thanks. I can’t decide if ginger is ugly or beautiful!

Hope you’re having a great day!

bearcountrygg on 07/21/2021:
I never realized that ginger was hot until recently.....really good stuff for you!

Jacky82020 on 07/21/2021:
Gosh! I didn’t know it was hot! Used the powder in making cookies & of course the sugar made them sweet. Same for Chinese sauces. I don’t use much ginger & the other ingredients overwhelm the hotness probably.

horn_of_plenty on 07/22/2021:
i thought i saw a piggie this AM...and now it's gone! it was soo cute, too!

Jacky82020 on 07/22/2021:
Glad you saw him. I do delete posts & sometimes too quickly. Same for emails.

horn_of_plenty on 07/22/2021:
yeah, what if i hadn't scrolled by it!?!?

(CR & IF & Exercise)
Weight: 112.2

The container next to it has sugar free hard candy, cinnamon & butterscotch.   Chocolate is banned in this house. Sad!

HOP.   dog treats.   this is the container I bought to make kombucha DX

EUREKA!   I have pondered long & hard how the BK Ch'King gets that flaky textured coating.   breadcrumbs aren't doing it.   So I was thinking cornflakes but thought that too weird. But then lo & behold I just saw a fried chicken recipe in the booklet that came with the AF. It uses cornflakes.   Read this sandwich dips the battered meat in a hot sauce before frying, but can't find  a recipe

this is air fried sweet potatoes.  topped with fake brown sugar & cinnamon.  Yum!  went well with the turkey meatloaf & Normany Blend vegetables.

Lazy yesterday.  wanted to see 30K steps on the Fitbit, but couldn't exercise all day.   too many things to do.   did get in 15K.

Progress as of today: 21.8 lbs lost so far, only 4.2 lbs to go!

Donkey on 07/13/2021:
Oh my that looks and sounds delicious! Do you eat the skins, too? I usually do, but I'm a tough ol' Donkey. ;-)

Yep, sometimes life just takes over and we can't do the workouts we want to do. Sometimes, in the long run, we find out it was worth it. And 15K is nothing to sneeze at - that's a pretty good day in my book!

Jacky82020 on 07/13/2021:
Yes, always eat the skin. On carrots too. I’m too lazy to peel & heard they contain vitamins. Same for my air fried white potato wedges,

Yep, so easy to fall short on exercise & diet, but it really doesn’t bother me much. Tomorrow’s another day. Or the day after. LOL

bearcountrygg on 07/13/2021:
Back in the day...they used to sell crushed corn flakes for coating chicken.....sweet potatoes look good...i made regular potatoes yesterday in the AF..D loves those.

Jacky82020 on 07/13/2021:
Really? Well, ima gonna crush my own cornflakes! LOL

Horn_of_plenty on 07/13/2021:
also, the panko breadcrumbs are very flaky and crispy....have you tried them? i JUST bought them for the first time LOL. cannot wait to use them also - perhaps in my turkey meatballs that i make tomorrow.!

your air fried potatoes look AMAZING. i'm sure they taste great. nice using sweet potatoes which have more health value.

Jacky82020 on 07/13/2021:
Yes, panko are the ones in most AF recipes . I thought it was a brand name. Bought the generic Walmart and A brand name. Identical

Horn_of_plenty on 07/13/2021:
yes, always best to save $$$. me too, almost always except if there's some kinda serious flavor difference :)

Donkey on 07/14/2021:
CORNFLAKES! Hmm... yes, I can see how that would work.

Jacky82020 on 07/14/2021:
What I’m thinking now is they use a batter & deep fry which gets both sides. The batter in the air fryer may only crisp the upper side. May try flipping .

Horn_of_plenty on 07/14/2021:
what is the item in the container in the back of your photo?!

Horn_of_plenty on 07/14/2021:
LOL. i knew i hadn't recognized that food before! because it's not people-food !!!! ;) that would certainly make a good amount of kombucha. i have found a store that sells kombucha for less...it's far though but good when i go to visit a certain friend as it's 5 min away from her. i guess i'll always pick up kombucha when i see her!

Jacky82020 on 07/14/2021:
Can’t remember if it holds a gallon or what. fun watching it ferment, but I prefer the flavored diet teas.,Lipton green tea mixed berry is my current fave.

The kombucha required sugar to brew & carbonate. Never bothered calculating how many calories, especially after Bear had the brilliantly idea to use flavored sparkling water. Still needed sugar, but less.

bearcountrygg on 07/14/2021:
I haven't tried it in the AF yet...but when i bake chicken i love to top it with nutritional yeast......it has a cheesy taste and gives a nice coating.

Jacky82020 on 07/14/2021:
Never tried that! Anxious to try corn flakes. On Friday’s pickup list. Saw AF fried chicken recipe that said cook 6 min at 370 on each side & then at 400 until done. Also found Popeye copycat recipe. Said to add hot sauce to beaten egg & then coat with flour.

Horn_of_plenty on 07/14/2021:
that was a great idea what bear said to do with some sparkling water for carbonation, yes.

Jacky82020 on 07/14/2021:
Yes!!! added flavor, carbonation & reduced sugar.

happy-1 on 07/15/2021:
I love all the cooking you do! Inspires me to cook.

Jacky82020 on 07/16/2021:
Do you have an air fryer? I absolutely love mine!!!!

Jacky82020 - Sunday Jul 11, 2021
(CR & IF & Exercise)
Weight: 112.6

ordered dry soy beans & ginger root from Amazon.   the root was $8 a pound & will literally last years in the fridge.   also ordered replacement scratcher circle things for the kitties.   they shred them fast enough

Good low calorie day so far,  simply not hungry.   this happens inexplicably sometimes,  wish it were more often! Also some most decent dumps thanks  to ~50 grams of fiber yesterday.

Been overeating. So will hit treadmill harder today.   the M&Ms are almost gone and it will be a long time before I inhale all that sugar again.

Need to order soy beans.   Mind boggling the finest bean of them all is not available at the local grocery stores. Ordered last from Amazon.

Progress as of today: 21.4 lbs lost so far, only 4.6 lbs to go!

Donkey on 07/11/2021:
Take care not to injure yourself by exercising harder. Also, be aware of what happened to me yesterday: I worked out more/harder, so I ended up eating more (and going over my calories).

Maybe take a "re-set" day? I'm not sure what that means, either.

Jacky82020 on 07/11/2021:
I’m too lazy to injure myself exercising! All too easy on myself. Wish I could see the MPH on the bike display, but the iPad covers it

bearcountrygg on 07/11/2021:
Aren't soy beans edamame? I think you can get those in the frozen food department. ( Not sure though...I can't have them because of hashimotos)

Jacky82020 on 07/11/2021:
I’ve seen those. Think they are immature soybeans in the shell & resemble snow peas. Doubt they’d have the nutritional kick of the boiled beans, ~30 gms protein in a cup & very filling. Far more protein than the average bean.

Horn_of_plenty on 07/11/2021:
glad the day is going smoothly for you. i usually have my best days when i'm distracted or have plans. today i was home and very old habits came into play (lots of noshing), but more moderately compared to my old old habits of course.

i think you may want to look into the edamame which is VERY healhy and high fiber/protein also. it can be frozen and stored a long time. and easy to make in their pods. also, you eat them by sucking them out of the pods and it's a longer process to eat...which can be extra satisfying as it takes longer to eat...

Jacky82020 on 07/11/2021:
Been there, done that. endamame. Been everywhere and tried many things. LOL

Donkey on 07/11/2021:
Just like some days are "hungry days", others are "not-so-hungry days" --- a relief! Some days, it's easier to restrict, and then other days, it just plan sucks.

Go with what works for you. Are you having the cabbage too?

Jacky82020 - Thursday Jul 08, 2021
(CR & IF & Exercise)
Weight: 112.2

Calories so far:

Fiber One (big serving)  150

Quaker crisps, 2 bags.    180

Coffee with protein drink  ~50

Quaker crisps, 2 bags,   180

Sausage & bun                  360

2 English muffns & toppings 350

M&arms                                 220

total:   ~1500

27,800 Fitbit "steps" on bike.   Burned at least half what I ate, hopefully.   wanted to hit 30K but my calves are getting sore.

Weight popping up more than I think it should, given how many Xtra calories ones needs to gain a single pound.   Will pay more attention to counting calories.   am changing diet.   no more M&Ms and chocolate cakes allowed in this house for a while.   no fast food.

Much cooler here today.   Yay!

Progress as of today: 21.8 lbs lost so far, only 4.2 lbs to go!

Donkey on 07/08/2021:
What??? That doesn't seem right to me. Could the Fiber One be causing water retention?

Jacky82020 on 07/08/2021:
No, the only resumed Fiber One yesterday & I did it for years previously. Probably I need to take a big Trump, I mean Dump. And probably some weird other water retention. Going to be more mindful of my sodium intake. The Buffalo tuna is high. Hoping Amazon has a better one that qualifies for the 15% discount.

horn_of_plenty on 07/08/2021:
if weight goes up fast, it just seems it would be from water too. like is it that time of month or do you somehow not get that?

horn_of_plenty on 07/08/2021:
or as an opposite, maybe your lower days were extra low and this is really where you are at now..

Jacky82020 on 07/08/2021:
Hard to say! It does fluctuate. Gonna make this a low cal weekend. Nothing chocolate in this house for a while, except the cocoa I’m adding to yogurt.

horn_of_plenty on 07/09/2021:
cocoa is so nice and light! i love to add it to yogurt in the past also i did, i'd also add a sweetener. it was tasty that way, not many calories more. great addition, cocoa.

Jacky82020 on 07/09/2021:
No sweetener. Like adding coffee granules & cocoa to reduce sweetness, either yogurt is naturally sweet or has additives. Buy the large size, generic Walmart.

horn_of_plenty on 07/09/2021:
any amount of fiber in a palm sized serving of food - any amount 4g or higher, is considered pretty darn good. so the muffin, way like two palms, being only 2g makes very little sense as bran has a lot of fiber in it. so something's off. i believe fiber one is bran; and as you see it has a ton of fiber.

Jacky82020 - Wednesday Jul 07, 2021
(CR & IF & Exercise)
Weight: 111.4

Turned over a new leaf & began eating healthier today.   Had Fiber One with fake brown sugar & cinnamon, transformed with water in the microwave to hot mushy cereal.   Yum!
20 gms fiber.   Will have yogurt when I'm hungry.   No M&Ms or white chedder & chocolate rice cakes on the pickup list this week.  Returning to hi fiber English muffins. Will top with tuna or cheese.

Weight creeping up!   Been overeating.  No more M&Ms in this house (or frozen German chocolate cake) for a while.   want to maintain a range of 108-112.  saw weight range for my height in a federal government publication.  98-132!  Now that's some range.   especially the 98. Wow! That would still be a normal BMI, but has to be approaching underweight.

Progress as of today: 22.6 lbs lost so far, only 3.4 lbs to go!

Donkey on 07/07/2021:
Ugh... it doesn't seem fair that it comes back far too easily.

Jacky82020 on 07/07/2021:
ikr? Dang!

Donkey on 07/07/2021:
Looks like you found some substitute treats :-) I love just about anything Fiber One. Say what you like, it helps me go - and I find it quite tasty. When I want something with some crunch to munch on, I like a cup of dry Fiber One.

Jacky82020 on 07/08/2021:
Can’t stand it dry, but mixed to a hot cereal with brown sugar & cinnamon, it’s quite palatable. Best way to get 27 gms fiber in one cup of anything that I know of. And that’s maybe 125 Cals. Can’t beat it. Took a nice Trump this morning. Had two 8 gm hi fiber English muffins later

Horn_of_plenty on 07/07/2021:
i miss the old fiber one recipe...it's changed and tastes like cardboard to me. i used to eat it years ago, loved it. it used to be sweet to me!

Jacky82020 on 07/08/2021:
It does taste crappy dry. Ok hot with sugar & cinnamon.

Horn_of_plenty on 07/07/2021:
i should REALLY make some tuna soon. i have some in the cupboard. i should make it with all the chopped up veggies and make it wonderful FOR WORK to enjoy there!

Jacky82020 on 07/08/2021:
I get those little flavored pouches, 70-110 cal. But canned albacore with hot sauce is good too

Jacky82020 - Saturday Jul 03, 2021
(CR & IF & Exercise)
Weight: 109.4

These are my fake Popeye/Ch'Kng Sandwiches.   Air fried, of course.   thought both places used Hawaiian Sweet rolls. But Popeye has brioche and BK uses potatoe rolls.  these are brioche and they taste just like Hawaiian to me.  Air fried the buns for 2 minutes.

Woke up at three and can't fall back to sleep.   Waiting for Matt to get up so I can hop on my bike with a cup of coffee and read the newspapers.  Excercised a lot yesterday because I couldn't resist the spicy Ch'King sandwich.   A good 800 calories.

Progress as of today: 24.6 lbs lost so far, only 1.4 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 07/03/2021:
I think I will get on the bike today too.....raining here so no outside.

Jacky82020 on 07/03/2021:
Over an inch of rain here yesterday. And much cooler. Down to 60.

bearcountrygg on 07/03/2021:
It sure doesn't seem like July....

Jacky82020 on 07/03/2021:
I know! But it did last week! Turned on AC for 2 nights because my French Bulldog kept panting.

Horn_of_plenty on 07/03/2021:
Happy Saturday! it's a lovely weekend here, not hot at all by summer standards! so i'm enjoying the A/C off and studying on the couch! :) have a nice day with your coffee.

i decided to add a brown banana into my cup of cold coffee! blended them together - the banana was also nice and cool as i had it in the fridge. was fun. not filling, but tasty.

Jacky82020 on 07/03/2021:
Interesting, the coffee & banana. I really like frozen slices because the syrup coats each slice. Bet coffee syrup would work, but never had any, since I use it to flavor coffee

Donkey on 07/03/2021:
I can't believe it's July already - what the heck happened to June???

It's gonna get hot over here this weekend - right now it's nice - so I'm anticipating having to turn on the AC and shut up the house, sometime later today :-(

Looks like you got to enjoy your treat without too much damage to the scale - I know you worked really hard to keep it that way. This diet stuff ain't easy...

Jacky82020 on 07/03/2021:
Yep, it sure ain’t easy. I actually weighed the last banana then forgot to do a calorie check. 123 gms.

They say I have dysthymia, low grade chronic depression that has descended to clinical depression a few times. I shun psychotropic meds, other than the small dose Xanax I use as a sleep aid. Considering losing it because I’m still pissed off about the urine test. This woman at Quest lab had me remove my mask & she shined a flashlight in my mouth. LOL. If I wanted to conceal whiz, I’d put it where they’d need a gyno or proctologist to find it. This low dose pill, which I cut in half, is only of marginal use.

bearcountrygg on 07/03/2021:
Your sandwiches look really good...did you make those from raw thighs? Were they a prepared chicken from the freezer? How long did you cook them in the air fryer......??

Jacky82020 on 07/03/2021:
They are frozen boneless chicken breasts. Raw. I did buy some frozen skinless thighs for later. Think I got the calories down to 350. The fast food ones are 700. The Mayo based sauce on the store ones makes it better. I don’t keep Mayo in the house. Looked at a few recipes and it was one egg, a few other things and a full cup of oil. Plan is to investigate low cal Mayo.

Cooked 20 min at 400. Four of them.

Jacky82020 on 07/03/2021:
I dipped them in a beaten egg and coated with panko crumbs, garlic & onion powder and paprika. And sprayed with oil.

Donkey on 07/03/2021:
O.M.G. - Air fried buns - never would have thought about it. Game changer!!!

Jacky82020 on 07/03/2021:
Love it. Easier than using a toaster or my electric frying pan.

bearcountrygg on 07/03/2021:
They do look good...I will try that...i don;t have panko...but I do have some italian crumbs...that should work...the buns are looking delish!!

Jacky82020 on 07/03/2021:
Other breadcrumbs should work. I thought panko was a brand at first, then I saw Walmart has a generic. I bought the generic and a name brand, tasted the same.

Yeah, the AF is a quick easy way to toast the buns, I used it last week for some Hawaiian sweet bread hot dog buns. Last time I used the electric frying pan to brown buns, I forgot them and they burned. Ate them anyway, but too dark

Horn_of_plenty on 07/04/2021:
AWESOME, spectacular job on those sandwiches! they look even better than takeout, in my opinion! homemade is almost always best !!!!

nice job!!!

i also think air frying the buns is quite tasty!!!!! :)

Jacky82020 on 07/04/2021:
Thanks, I’d still like to figure out a mayonnaise like dressing that isn’t all oil.

Horn_of_plenty on 07/04/2021:
i would totally eat those! tasty tasty tasty!

Jacky82020 on 07/04/2021:
They were! Thanks. Usually don’t eat breakfast but got hungry early because I woke up at 4. Heated the last 1/2 sandwich in the microwave. Yummy!

Horn_of_plenty on 07/05/2021:
avocado on top instead of mayo? or buffalo sauce or bbq would be less calories than mayo prob

Jacky82020 on 07/05/2021:
Hell no! Want something low in fat. But I do love avocados. Looked at some fat free zero cal Mayo substitutes online. They had ghastly reviews! Ppl said too sweet and runny. I’m after the Mayo based sauce Popeye and BK uses, but with far less fat,

Weight: 109.2

Pretty much salt & calorie free.   I put a heaping teaspoon of the bullion in a big mug of hot water & add hot sauce & malt vinegar.

yay!   a new bar on the graph!
lots of rain, thunder & lightening here,  but much cooler.

Progress as of today: 24.8 lbs lost so far, only 1.2 lbs to go!

horn_of_plenty on 07/01/2021:
nice job on 6 months of maintenance.

Jacky82020 on 07/01/2021:
Thank! You too!

horn_of_plenty on 07/01/2021:
i should have said 8 months maintenance of around the same weight for you :)

Jacky82020 on 07/01/2021:
Hard to remember. All I know is I joined DD 82020. Often choose date for user name to make it unique

Donkey on 07/01/2021:
I can't help but think you must be very pleased with your graph as it looks now. It shows that you have worked to get those numbers closer to goal -- WAY TO GO!

Jacky82020 on 07/01/2021:
Thanks, Donkey! It’s an ongoing effort. Shocked to recently read 74% of American adults are overweight and 35% of kids. Numbers keep getting worse. So unhealthy. Feel sorry for the kids, shame on those ignorant parents!

horn_of_plenty on 07/01/2021:
your drink looks like a good colon cleanser too! it'd make me poop. if it had salt, i'd prob poop more.. sometimes i poop after a salty soup. maybe it's just because it's hot liquid and prob not the salt that's making me poop i realize.

Jacky82020 on 07/01/2021:
I wish! No laxative effect. But hydrates, helps control appetite & tastes good

horn_of_plenty on 07/01/2021:
really 74% of americans. wow. didn't realize it was that high already. scary. even i am not considered really thin by BMI standards!

Jacky82020 on 07/01/2021:
I’m in the normal range. Isn’t < 18 underweight? Think 18-25 is normal, >25-30 is overweight & >30 is obese. Inaccurate for some muscular ppl, but good indicator for most. Not sure if they breakdown the normal range.

Donkey on 07/02/2021:
I had my bullion mug yesterday with only 2 cubes, and so it wasn't as salty (and so not as yummy) but yummy enough, still. I will have to check with husband to see if he has malt vinegar in his stash. I prefer lemon or lime in my chicken broth -- it's a childhood memory -- so I've been adding that to my mugs.

But the hot sauce would be much better than pepper flakes (for more even distribution of hotness). And I completely agree with getting the sodium free option. I just have to get some.

Jacky82020 on 07/02/2021:
Never tried lemon juice, but have a bottle in fridge so will try. Sounds good to me.

Weight: 109.2

This is the fat cat relaxing with the husband.

Weight stable today after 2 pds down & 2 pds up.   I need to move the bariatric scale in the Cat Room.   Keep bumping into it when I turn on the air purifier & it says "hello" in a really creepy voice, followed by "I'm ready."

Progress as of today: 24.8 lbs lost so far, only 1.2 lbs to go!

Donkey on 06/30/2021:
There's the basis for a horror film screenplay in that statement.

Jacky82020 on 06/30/2021:
Now that you mentioned it, I did see a Chucky -like toy hiding in the corner! Lol

Donkey on 06/30/2021:
In all seriousness, good to see a stabilization in the numbers for now. I predict you'll be due for another drop in a bit.

Jacky82020 on 06/30/2021:
Thanks for the vote of confidence. I’m thinking of giving up my beloved tiny bags of M&Ms. been doing 5 bags on average. 350 Cals total. All fat and sugar and goodness.

horn_of_plenty on 06/30/2021:
is the bariatric scale very heavy or just made of good material ? get hubby's assistance if you need, LOL!?

what a creepy scale ;)

Jacky82020 on 06/30/2021:
So, I went back three screens and see DD in the usual format now. answer in another post re scale.

Horn_of_plenty on 06/30/2021:
you have a good looking hubs! is that really your hubby and fat cat!? huge cat compared to my GPs!

Jacky82020 on 06/30/2021:
Naw, I’m lying. LOL

Horn_of_plenty on 06/30/2021:
well that makes sense about tthe talking scale. i never put 2&2 together!

Jacky82020 on 06/30/2021:
That scale needs a muting operation

I should just get a new one and let Matt take that back to the garage
