Walmart has been fiddling with their online order placement for curbside pickup and it's getting worse.   IT should have left it alone!   Much trouble placing order.   Was almost ready to fold, but didn't went to relinquish the 5% back from the Walmart Capitol One CC.  Before you could simply add your items to the cart, but now they show dozens of similar items.  Also show everything you've pirichased for the last century.  Very annoying!

DD acting weird!   tried to respond to HoP's commment & my last post pops up, different appearance than usual, without the ability to respond.

Anyways, the bariatric scale is big & heavy duty, weighs up to 700 pds.   The husband is able to Jack up his project car and place one tire at a time on it to weigh the vehicle.   it was not being used now, so he put it in the Cat Room because I'm monitoring the fat cat's weight.  It is also sensitive to .2 pds.

Progress as of today: 24.8 lbs lost so far, only 1.2 lbs to go!

horn_of_plenty on 06/30/2021:
that is one very heavy scale, jacky!

Jacky82020 on 06/30/2021:
Must be it talks because those 600 pd plus ppl can’t see over their humongous guts.

I know the guy who weighed 467 in My Big Fat Greek Diet stepped on 2 scales to get his weight and said his brother had to read the numbers because he couldn’t see them

happy-1 on 06/30/2021:
That's one fat cat!

Jacky82020 on 06/30/2021:
LOL! That’s my boy!

Weight stable after 2 pds up and 2 pds down.

Had  air fry chicken & potato wedge & stir fried Normandy Blend vegetables.  Tried these garlic and Italian herb breadcrumbs instead of the panko this time. Yum!   they browned very nicely! Also used parchment paper to eliminate sticking to the wire rack. Worked!

This is my new electric fry pan.   very easy to clean, just like the air fryer.
N

So predictably the missing 2 pds from yesterday returned.   I'm due for a big Trump, I mean Dump, so maybe better luck tomorrow.   it's all good.   Never had a specific number as a weight goal.   Always a range.

Progress as of today: 25 lbs lost so far, only 1 lbs to go!

Donkey on 06/29/2021:
JACKY -- HA HA HA HA!!!!! I nearly choked on my coffee reading your entry. HA HA HA!!!!

Well, I'm sorry the scale went up but maybe that's to be expected (?) - that is to say a swing-swing back and forth, a little, until your numbers settle at the lower end.

I hear ya -- I had bathroom issues last week. Every once in a while things just don't move as regularly as they should.

PS Your weight graph is looking great!

Jacky82020 on 06/29/2021:
Thanks. I keep the goal number unrealistically low to make the graph look better. I know that’s kinda dumb, but I don’t like the flat bars.

bearcountrygg on 06/29/2021:
If you keep hovering at a number...it will eventually stay there...or at least that is what happens with me......I plateau at certain numbers it seems no matter what I do...and have to finally do something really drastic to move them...I'm going on a liquid fast for about 5 days in July.....I still get the same amt of calories...but it works for me.

Jacky82020 on 06/29/2021:
How many calories are in your liquid fast? I see some with 600. Not exactly what I’d call a fast, but I can’t do it. Never could. My best dieting days are eating around 1200 and burning half (exercise)

horn_of_plenty on 06/29/2021:
a weight range is the way to go! for sure! :)

it happens!

Jacky82020 on 06/29/2021:
Yep, anything else has to inaccurate

horn_of_plenty on 06/29/2021:
and it's got to happen...we are human and not robots sticking to the same exact weight per day. too many things in fluctuation! :)

have a nice "trump!"

Jacky82020 on 06/29/2021:
LOL

Hoping to LEAVE one. All this protein is binding. And I am sick of stir fried cabbage.

horn_of_plenty on 06/29/2021:
there's a lot more veggies than cabbage....branch out!!!! you can make zucchini chips if you like that sort of thing..in your air fryer... you can also do mashed cauliflower...instead of potatoes....let's go!

Jacky82020 on 06/29/2021:
I am big on the Normandy Blend: cauliflower. Broccoli, carrots, zucchini and yellow squash. Came out mushy in the AF, so back to stir frying with a little spray. On tonight’s menu along with AF chicken breasts & potatoe wedges. Got a pretty new turquoise electric skillet that is really easy to clean for the vegetables

horn_of_plenty on 06/29/2021:
why not have sauteed spinach for a change? or collard greens (though not everyone likes those.....)

Jacky82020 on 06/29/2021:
Sounds like work! Just heat frozen in the microwave. Not big on any greens except spinach.

bearcountrygg on 06/29/2021:
The calories on the 5 days i do liquids only are really the same as when i eat......It isn't about calories at that point...it's basically a total clean out....and i feel great afterwards. I drink juices, coffee, tea, broth, eat jello and popsicles, anything that is liquid...9 I do try to stay away from protein drinks and V8.....but do use a lot of fruit juices........

Jacky82020 on 06/29/2021:
I’ve been meaning to try all liquid too, but always blow it. I’d do protein drinks, bullion, ice tea and sodas. But I want the little M&M bags or rice cakes with cream cheese and jam at night. Never cared for fruit juice. The husband drinks orange juice everyday, but I never touch it.

Donkey on 06/30/2021:
I would be interested in hearing about your cooking adventures using the electric frying pan. I recall my grandmother having one of these - not nearly as pretty, avocado green, I believe.

Jacky82020 on 06/30/2021:
I’ve used one for years. The last was Teflon coated, wearing away, and starting to stick. I feel the temperature settings give me more control than a stovetop. I’ve been stir frying that Normandy Blend for everything eons. Also cook hamburgers, steaks & polish sausages etc in it. When you’re done, you can use the Warm setting until you’re ready to serve. Good for meatballs too.

They use a “ceramic” coating these days. Super easy to clean. I sure hope it wears well.

Jacky82020 on 06/30/2021:
Just eons! Not everything eons! Damn autocorrect. Throwing in extra words!

Are a lot yesterday, but exercised a lot, but even so was surprised to see a drop this AM.   Probably a hydration issue.   Will focus more on liquids today. It's been warm here!   Saw the first fireflies of the season last night & they were awesome!

Progress as of today: 24.8 lbs lost so far, only 1.2 lbs to go!

Donkey on 06/27/2021:
I haven't seen fireflies here yet. Also, my tiger lilies haven't budded yet, much less blossomed (although others in the area have). I feel like we're a little behind here, maybe because of the recent drought (which has since been reconciled).

Getting SO CLOSE to goal!!!!

Jacky82020 on 06/27/2021:
So are you! I think I have in a big advantage over most ppl in not working outside the house.

It was more difficult to maintain my weight when I taught school. Even though I took the trolley which involved long walks up and down this big hill that led to the football stadium

Horn_of_plenty on 06/27/2021:
I LOVE the glowing eyes of your two black cats!

I'm always scared of fireflies up close because they flutter and are so dark and creepy looking. but i do love their little fires!

Jacky82020 on 06/27/2021:
I’ve only ever seen their flashing butts at night. Never could locate one. It’s magical. Like tiny fairies dancing

Horn_of_plenty on 06/27/2021:
i saw one yesterday durinng the day when i was in a forest. ugh!!! haha. they are so beautiful at night!

Jacky82020 on 06/27/2021:

Back in my fast weight loss mode, like when I steadily lost a pound a week when I joined DD on 8/20/20 and lost >20 pds in ~5 months.   I can only lose a pound  a week at my best. For me, this involves eating a normal amount of calories for my size and burning off 600 per day, or restricting calories to ~ 800 a day.   neither is easy!   and I have many off days.   my daily weigh in keeps me in check.   those pounds can creep up quickly & require constant vigilance.   for me, that is.

Here's a pic of my two black cats.   the former feral is in the background.   unfortunately, the flash scared him and I couldn't take a better photo.

Progress as of today: 24.2 lbs lost so far, only 1.8 lbs to go!

Donkey on 06/25/2021:
Beautiful kitties! Former Feral looks like my boy cat. He's afraid of mops and doorbells.

Way to go to break 110!!! You are right - neither is easy. As we get older, too, it gets hard and requires consistent vigilance, like you say. If you lose a pound a week, where you're at, that's almost 1% body weight every week. That's remarkable.

Jacky82020 on 06/25/2021:
Actually I started at 134, so it was .07%. At first, anyways. I’d have to really starve myself & fast to lose more than a pound a week. I have known ppl who lost 10 pds or more a month, but they were heavy to begin with. I never got much past 140, but that’s too fat, considering I’m barely 5’1” . I did look like a little bottle butt

This is another Cat Cam pic.   Tha former feral is just out of view on the loveseat with the pink sheet.   it's a lot of fun watching him groom & play with the fat one on the big table.

Been eating more lately, but compensating by LOTS of exercise.  Most of the "steps" are from the bike, but I did an hour on the treadmill.   Plus hit the gym.   Can't maintain this pace everyday, so I need to focus more on keeping my pie hole shut.

Progress as of today: 23.6 lbs lost so far, only 2.4 lbs to go!

Donkey on 06/24/2021:
I'm in a similar spot, emotionally. Can't say I've been eating more, but I want to, and I think the root of that might be fatigue. Anyway, I can relate. (((hugs)))

Jacky82020 on 06/24/2021:
Do you think one thing that’s making me eat more is all that exercise?

I’m back to drinking big mugs of chicken bullion with hot sauce & vinegar days, but am eating too much nights. I just took two half pound hamburgers out of the freezer & some ciabatta buns. It’s all I can think about! Usually eat a half and the husband has 1.5 burgers.

bearcountrygg on 06/24/2021:
Yeah...food....if we were cave people we would eat some days...and not others...we would be doing a lot of walking....finding berries etc...then the occasional animal which would fill us up fast......but nope....we have to only walk to the kitchen.....no wonder it's such a battle. We are really set up to fail.

Jacky82020 on 06/24/2021:
ikr? And getting boxes and boxes of Amazon subscription snacks isn’t helping any. But the price is right. I’m glad I finally thought of 5 items to buy that qualified for the 15% off.

Only got one thing on Prime Day & turns out to have been their most popular deal. It was a $50 gift card for $40.

Still pissed off that my fries didn’t brown in the rotating AF basket. I did soak them in cold water in the fridge as recommended.

bearcountrygg on 06/24/2021:
Did you dry them off and oil?...I found with the shrimp that I just had to keep them in longer.

horn_of_plenty on 06/24/2021:
that photo shows a LARGE CAT ROOM wow. you treat those cats right.!

Jacky82020 on 06/24/2021:

The air fryer rotating basket didn't work so well on the fries!!!   They cooked but only a few had some slight browning.   The non-rotated potatoe wedges were a lot better.

they seem to like batting around plastic grocery bags.

HAPPY, trying to post a pic of the cat stepladder  & it won't upload.   ok, took another.

Girls, I nearly went into cardiac arrest.  The rotating basket came for the Air Fryer and I opened the rotisserie cookbook that came with the AF & out flops this promo for a free basket.   I paid $21 for mine.   BUT!   they want $18 for S&H and say it will take 6 weeks to arrive, so now my heart is beating at it's normal rate.

Lots of Flex Protien Crisps, tuna pouches and Quacker Crisps coming in.  More expected today and every 5 weeks thereafter. The Quacker Crisps average 80 cal, depending on the flavor.  Man, are those bags small and air inflated!  No more than a dozen or so tiny crisps inside.  And they cost a lot more than the big bags, but I have difficulty controlling the serving size.   The big bags of M&Ms don't work for me either,  even when I weigh or count them out.   Will have to stick with the 70 cal Fun Size.

Progress as of today: 23.6 lbs lost so far, only 2.4 lbs to go!

horn_of_plenty on 06/23/2021:
You just reminded me to eat all the tuna and canned products i have at home that i buy and then throw away bc i never eat them! thanks for the reminder to save my cash and eat them.

i have kombucha coming in! haha, found a deal on prices this time around on amazon; so took advantage of the sale. anything to save me a trip or two to the supermarket for it!

yep, the smaller the bag, the more the cost per ounce. yep yep. that's marketing / busienss! ha.

i personally do enjoy smaller sizes of things too, even if it costs a little more!

Jacky82020 on 06/23/2021:
Tuna pouches (80-100 cal) are a staple for me. Also canned albacore, think it’s 110 cal per can. Maybe the only canned foods I eat. Splurge on canned beef hash, but very rarely. Love it with eggs, but too fatty. Maybe twice a year. Reminds me! Time to boil up 7 eggs in the turquoise egg cooker!

Jacky82020 on 06/23/2021:
It’s too bad I don’t like kombucha after cracking the recipe. My final product was as good as store bought, but I prefer Snapple & Lipton diet ice teas. Cracked those recipes too, but haven’t felt like whipping up a batch lately. I use peach/mango flavorings & green & black tea, Also lost my taste for black garlic. Too bad, because the fermentor was expensive. Didn’t cost much to make the kombucha. Think the SCOBY was ~$5 and lasted forever like a sour dough starter, as long as it’s gee.

Jacky82020 on 06/23/2021:
it’s feed.

Jacky82020 on 06/23/2021:
FED!

Donkey on 06/23/2021:
I have a really hard time with portion control (with goodies) too, so I completely understand the need for the smaller packaging, even though it costs more. I've even tried taking a big package of something, and dividing it up into smaller baggies -- doesn't work.

So I look at the cost as an investment in taking care of myself. Some folks get facials or hairdo's, or their nails done. I spend more on nutritional tools, if that makes sense.

Jacky82020 on 06/23/2021:
I did that too with the mint M&Ms, small baggies or weighing them on my postage scale. Guess I’m stuck with the plain chocolate ones that come in the little bags. Disappointed in myself, but not going to lose any sleep over it.

horn_of_plenty on 06/23/2021:
i also boil eggs - for easy convenience :)

Jacky82020 on 06/23/2021:
Love the little egg maker. Always do the max, 7 eggs. It makes a godawful sound when time’s up

bearcountrygg on 06/23/2021:
Six of one half dozen of another on the basket....LOL

bearcountrygg on 06/23/2021:
Ours loves bags and boxes and nuzzles plastic containers constantly....they look like they have a virtual playground there...they must be very happy.

Jacky82020 on 06/23/2021:
Thanks. Since I keep them isolated from the dogs and birds, I feel they need a nice room. Soon the husband will have the outside enclosed done.

Weight: 110.0

Dang!   wanted to hit 30K on the Fitbit today and now I'll never know.   stepped into the shower with it and the poor thing is drying out.   mostly the ankle strap.   have done this many times.

Wish I had a better idea of how many calories I burn on this bike.   I'm on it a minimum of 5 hours a day.   I'm reading that's 200-350 per hour for my weight, but it simply cannot be.   I'd weigh 50 pds by now if it were so.

I finally found 5 items for Amazon subscriptions that will give me 15% off already good prices. Bummer is they send the first batch soon at only 5% off.   thereafter it's 15% off.   I chose every 5 weeks for: BBQ Flex Protein Crisps, Buffalo Flex crisps, Buffalo tuna pouches, mixed tuna pouches, & Quacker Rice crisps.  Two boxes of the BBQ crisps & Quacker arrived yesterday.   So I may have too many.   if so, looks like I can easily suspend the subscriptions.   Calculated this will save ~$150 per year when I hit the 15% off.  yay!

Maintaining weight.   A struggle somedays.   Was thinking this AM when they had blood drives in San Diego & you had to weigh at least 110.   You got free tickets to pro baseball and football games, So I put dumb bell weights in my pockets to get me to 110.   I was closer to 105 in my 30's.

Progress as of today: 24 lbs lost so far, only 2 lbs to go!

Donkey on 06/21/2021:
Buffalo flavorings = YUM!!! That's interesting about the subscriptions... I'll have to look into that.

Jacky82020 on 06/21/2021:
I love the Buffalo. I had some difficulty settling on 5 items. You don’t get the 15% off unless you do the five. Most of the items can’t compete with Walmart generics. Amazon has all brand names. The 12 Buffalo tuna pouches were priced the same as Walmart but I’ll be getting them for ~.85 instead of a dollar. Them pennies saved add up!

bearcountrygg on 06/21/2021:
I got an amazon credit card...and use it mainly on amazon only......and we buy so much from them that almost every month we have money to deduct from our next purchase...it seems to be about $40 a month...we have never paid interest on the card because i pay the balance off every month.....it has been a very good deal for us.

bearcountrygg on 06/21/2021:
I have a question about the subscriptions.....will you be paying the 85 cents guaranteed for that item...or will you be paying what they are charging when they ship future ones...the idea that I wouldn't know what I was paying for something scares me. I have tried to find out the answer to that and never did get an answer.

bearcountrygg on 06/21/2021:
I know that amazon works/prices on an algorithm and the price constantly changes depending on how many shoppers there are...and possibly on availability

Jacky82020 on 06/21/2021:
I am assuming they will give the 15% in rewards points. That’s how they do the 5% off I get with my Amazon Chase credit card.

Thanks for the reminder they may change prices. I’ll keep an eye on it. They have held steady on the protein crisps. $16.99 for 20. Box wants $20 for 20. Expecting to get them for $14.45 with the subscription. I believe they will let me know when a shipment is due & the price, so I can cancel

bearcountrygg on 06/21/2021:
I just found it.......They say that the price may change...and if it goes lower than you agreed to you will get the lower price...if it goes higher than you agree to you will get the price you agreed to...so that should be okay. It sound like they may email you before they ship..and it will include the price......so if you like the subscription prices...then you should be fine....I'm interested in hearing how you like it.

Jacky82020 on 06/21/2021:
Yes, they will email before shipping. I had a Chewys subscription for a while & they did the same.

Horn_of_plenty on 06/21/2021:
yes, you could have skipped the first order for that 5% item by itself, but at least you will get the full 15% going fowards. i love it when, usually, i'm at the 15% each month - because i do have a few Amazon staples. :)

THAT IS HILARIOUS what you did at the blood bank. i'm glad you are ok. as also short stature the 110 may be hard, yeah, to reach.

good job maintaining. i find for me to even put on my chart here, right now, t0 want below 110 as a goal is too harsh on my willpower / mind / brain to have to look at...that's why i keep it at 110...i'm not ready to "push myself mentally" to maintain lower.

however, looking at my beach photos, you'd think i weigh more when i'm in tbe photos by myself because i'm quite curvy at 38, i guess that's just a woman's bone strucutre, in addition to my lack of real muscle except in my arms / upper back...so i said to myself, wow, you could maintain lower it looks like, if you wanted to. but i'm not ready. as 110 has been challenging enough...and new to me...it's only since just after last summer that i reached this lower weight. before then i was a few pounds higher, never staying at 110 for long.

Donkey on 06/21/2021:
Awww, that's too bad about the Fitbit. I got mine wet doing some shoveling this past winter and lost some steps. Thankfully, after it dried out, it still worked.

I often feel a similar feeling when I leave my Fitbit on the charger overnight and thus, don't get any sleep data.

Jacky82020 on 06/22/2021:
I found the sleep data useless and don’t wear the thing to bed.

Second try ok.  DD getting flaky

Pic came out long & weird!   Found a $5.99  for a better pc.   potato slicer at Harbor Freight plus a 20% off coupon!

Ate like a small pony yesterday and dropped .2 pds!   The power of hours and hours of exercise.  Hit the gym and the treadmill.   And did >30K bike "steps."  Stopped after the national news.   Too much for everyday, but I burned lots of calories.

Progress as of today: 24 lbs lost so far, only 2 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 06/20/2021:
I am absolutely positive that it is a good thing to have a high calorie day sometimes........and some very low cal days...( i call it shaking things up).....I have had a lot of my best losses after doing those.....for me...plateaus seem to happen when i eat the same cals day after day.....my body slows right down with that. That is the main reason I stopped counting again......time for me to shake things up....but you are right...you burned a lot yesterday...you must have some awesome calves.

Jacky82020 on 06/20/2021:
I do! But not too big! Don’t like the bulked up look.

Just reading air fryer French Fries recipe in the Washington Post. They say the secret to really crispy ones is to soak the cut potatoes in water for least an half hour, longer better. Said it reduces starch content & brings more starch to the surface. Can also be done by parboiling. Too much work! I went ahead and ordered the rotating basket from PowerXL for $21, shipping included. Cheaper than Amazon. Today they sent a free return shipping label in case I don’t like it. LOL

Caught the end of an informercial for a PowerXL self cleaning juicer on TV . Didn’t get price, they were selling it for $14.99 a month. The green juices looked gross!

bearcountrygg on 06/20/2021:
Supposedly they are to be dried off too before going into the AF.....I agree...If I'm going to parboil them then i will just good them that way and forget the AF....I'm not looking for more work...LOL....The basket will be interesting. oh oh...when they start taling paying by the month...it is usually super expensive.....i have/or had...not sure...a cheap juicer that my parents were given art a casino in vegas......it worked...but really didn't seem worth the mess....i did use the juice as well as the fiberous stuff ( pit that in muffins)...but it was a lot of work to clean up....didn't stick with that long...i do make smoothies sometimes in the ninja blender....usually to use up lettuce mixtures that will go bad......but it isn't something I do much....i like green juice..it tastes better than it looks I think...LOL

Jacky82020 on 06/20/2021:
Won’t parboil, but will soak in fridge for a while.

Saw that juicer online. Interesting marketing. You pay $14.99 for a 30 day trial. Then $33.33 for 3 months to keep it. Costs $99.99 to buy outright. Never into juicing. Mostly noticed the name, PowerXL. Never heard of it until I bought their purple AF on eBay.

bearcountrygg on 06/20/2021:
COOK....NOT GOOD...Talking UGH...I DID NOT PROOF READ...SORRY!!!

Jacky82020 on 06/20/2021:
It ok, I read typo. It’s my second language.

bearcountrygg on 06/20/2021:
I'm sorry....so many mistakes in that it's hard to read.....Time to shorten my nails...that is my main issue with typos...

Jacky82020 on 06/20/2021:
This site makes more types than other social media. Not good at autocorrect and I’m not good at proofreading. Sad.

Donkey on 06/20/2021:
Just curious... do you feel that taking the Ally helped counter the BK?

I did not realize that the bun was like Hawaiian bread! And I must have missed the part about it being a *spicy* sandwich -- oh what a complement of flavors! I love spicy!!!

Congratulations on the weight loss!

Jacky82020 on 06/20/2021:
It was a terrific sandwich! Yes, I have every confidence the Alli blocks ~25% of the fat, but that still leaves 75% on your butt. Think Alli is best for really obese ppl who consume lots of fatty foods.

bearcountrygg on 06/20/2021:
I don't know if you have kids or not...if so...happy fathers day to him.

Jacky82020 on 06/20/2021:
Thanks!

bearcountrygg on 06/20/2021:
I think you will put the french fry cutter to good use...very good price too.

Jacky82020 on 06/20/2021:
I will! Had one that peeled and cored apples and had a fry cutting attachment. Gave it to the Goodwill a few years back. Never made fries and too lazy to make apple pies. Used to make good apple pies, but too much work. Get day old cakes and pies from Walmart now. Never liked cooking!

bearcountrygg on 06/20/2021:
I used to do a lot of baking when there were so many of us in the house.......but almost all of that stopped when we became empty nesters.....we don't need a lot of that stuff around now.....and when we have it...we over eat it.....so mainly holidays now.....i had a lot od storage for that stuff then too..i made cookies today for D...and ate 4 of them.....it's still with me to over eat that stuff.....I used to enjoy cooking....but it was more fun for a houseful....I'm not enjoying it much anymore.

Jacky82020 on 06/20/2021:
Used to cook a lot more on the west coast where my family lives & I had more friends. I like fixing something now that lasts the husband 3 days, like meatloaf or pasta.

Horn_of_plenty on 06/21/2021:
if you are going to make potatoes often enough in the air fryer, a slicer is wonderful to get perfect slices. my mom did roasted potatoes yesterday...she precooked the potatoes (so smart) so that when she quickly put them under the broiler all seasoned and with some olive oil, they cooked up way faster...i told her to use the air fryer, but she didn't want to :( ...she has one.

Paid for the fat sandwich!!!! Or part.   never could translate bike peddle "steps" to calories burned.   did 500-600 probably

So the sandwich was wonderful! They use a Hawaiian sweet roll like Popeyes.   many of the calories must come from the sauce, above & below the meat.   some kind of flavored Mayo.   This is tne best chicken sandwich I've ever had!

I am going surrender and buy the new BK spicy chicken sandwich.   Saw 930 Cals the first time I looked and now see everything from 730-850.   Even the BK site is confusing.  Pumping fast on my bike now while waiting for them to open at 11.   Will take 2 fat blocking pills, Alli, so I poop out some fat, probably ~100 Cals worth.   My diet is so low fat that I haven't taken any Alli for a while.  This one bottle from eBay has lasted years.   Only blocks 25% of the fat anyways.

Progress as of today: 23.8 lbs lost so far, only 2.2 lbs to go!

Donkey on 06/19/2021:
Oh my! I logged in and this was the first thing I saw - what a beautiful picture! (LOL) I hope you enjoy every bite :-)

About 2 months ago, the Boss offered to get BK for the office. I mostly don't participate in these sort of things, but he persuaded me to try the Impossible Burger, which I found to be delicious! But anyway, my point is that the nutritional info on the BK site is not exactly clear - I agree with you on that! But sometimes, you just have to surrender to the YUM, regardless of the data. Right? ;-)

Jacky82020 on 06/19/2021:
Yes, upon occasion the power of the YUM overtakes me. Never tried the Impossible Burger but everyone says it tastes like real beef. Sadly that one is as high in calories as a similar sized beef burger. I usually go for the small Rodeo Burger, ~370 C, but not today.

bearcountrygg on 06/19/2021:
You have to live!!!! I say go for it!!!

Jacky82020 on 06/19/2021:
LOL! I plan to! Already have the Alli and a thermal sleeve out on the counter. Cheap me ain’t paying their high soda prices.

bearcountrygg on 06/19/2021:
So it was well worth it...to have the best chicken sandwich you have ever had......!!!!

Jacky82020 on 06/19/2021:
Yep, & I’m peddling like hell to atone. No regrets.

Horn_of_plenty on 06/19/2021:
yes, the chicken looks superb. i like fried chicken too! :)

Jacky82020 on 06/19/2021:
It was really good. Haven’t had fried chicken in more years than I can remember. Not counting the one Popeye which is deep fried. Not nearly as crunchy. So much media hype over Popeye that I had to try one.

Horn_of_plenty on 06/19/2021:
personally one of my fave places to go, as it's close by me too, is Arbys. i love their chicken fingers and also their curly fries, all nicely seasoned. i should buy them soon...but not today as my calories are already so high.

Jacky82020 on 06/19/2021:
Like the gyros at Arby’s

Made these with parmasean cheese, garlic powder & oil spray.   air fried.

The bariatric scale in the Cat Room gave me a good scare when I weighed my fat cat.   I really don't like how this thing talks: Ready, Step On, reading, Thank You.   Forgot it says: Bye after a pause.   So I put the cat down and was watching him when I left the room.   just as I closed the door, the scale said Bye and the cat opened his mouth a little.   For a split second thought I needed a shrink.   you know, auditory hallucinations.

Saw interesting article which I like because it shares my opinions.   Said Counting Calories works best, better than keto and intermittent fasting.   But is discussed calorie restriction counting.  25% less than needed resulted in greatest weight loss.   I try to do 15% less, 25% is too hard, but I am not going for rapid loss.   I'm after the disease related benefits.   Especially cancer and heart disease as best described in the book: The Switch.

Progress as of today: 23.8 lbs lost so far, only 2.2 lbs to go!

horn_of_plenty on 06/17/2021:
and being that me and you are already thin, 25% is unreasonable. you have to also figure the starting weights / BMI of a person....

and yes, i'd agree with that article that overall calorie intake is KING.

Jacky82020 on 06/17/2021:
I can see doing 25% less for overweight ppl like that 467 pd physician in My Big Fat Greek Diet who did like 800 calories of protein drink a day. Very extreme but he was very fat & only did it until he reached a good weight. He looked terrific and as fat as I know, kept it off.

Wonder if he had the book contract before embarking on his cross country journey. Talk about motivation!

Donkey on 06/17/2021:
When it comes down to it, it's the calorie intake. I agree with that. But whoa, 25% -- that takes dedication and determination, that's for sure. The input ("advice") I've been given lately is more around the 15% restriction. This lower amount helps prevent that deprivation feeling (I guess?) and is easier to do over a longer period of time, hence more productive in establish a long-term habit.

OK, so that's the "official" spin on it, but I gotta tell you - it's all hard. All of it.

bearcountrygg on 06/17/2021:
It is the calories...it's just that some food stick with you longer and help keep you away from food....carbs allow hunger quicker but if you can deal with that...then carbs will allow you to lose too. I know so many plans try to make you think their plan is magic.....but it isn't. I remember my aunt saying that she and my uncle share a sandwich......basically...i guess we have to be willing to do that kind of thing.

Jacky82020 on 06/17/2021:
I like low calorie foods high in volume. Which is some vegetables like cabbage and spinach etc

I always share a footlong sub with the husband, or big other sandwiches. All depends. Some of the Burger King small burgers are only 350, so no sharing there!

Jacky82020 on 06/17/2021:
I find protein far more filling than carbs.

bearcountrygg on 06/17/2021:
Protein is a lot more filling....carbs make one hungrier faster......for sure.

Jacky82020 on 06/17/2021:
I’m really glad you introduced me to Box which has the Flex Protein Crisps. 160 calories and 10 gm protein. Love the BBQ flavor

bearcountrygg on 06/17/2021:
I'm glad you like them...they also have a feature that tells you the expiration dates on their things...I've never seen that anywhere else.....but cans come dented ( from them and every where else)so not ordering cans any more.

Jacky82020 on 06/17/2021:
Can you get a discount from dented cans? LOL Remember when I got all the free rice crisps?

bearcountrygg on 06/17/2021:
I have reported it...they ask for pictures...and are good about it...but recently i got 2 cases of vegetables...the cartons looked perfect...but every can was dented except for 1...i cannot figure out how that happened....i'm just going to use them this time.....I do think that cans are not as thick as they used to be.....I think I will stay away from them now though.

Jacky82020 on 06/17/2021:
Probably a good idea to avoid especially if you have good alternatives

bearcountrygg on 06/17/2021:
Taters look good!!! I made shrimp yesterday...just tossed it in olive oil and lemon pepper and old bay and bread crumbs....they took longer to crisp up than i figured they would but they ended up tasting great...we aren't huge shrimp fans normally but these were really good.

Jacky82020 on 06/17/2021:
Same here, not a big shrimp fan. But relieved to see they are only 500 Cals per pound. Surprised, thought they were higher.

The AF’s come in different wattages. Think my smaller is 1300 and the larger is 1700.

bearcountrygg on 06/17/2021:
You made me curious...I had to go look...mine is 1700..............I think it actually took about 20 minutes all together...I checked them about 4 times....the oil and bread crumbs were gooey but i figured if I kept them in they long enough they would crisp up...and they did. Will certainly be making those again. This one is a 5.8

Jacky82020 on 06/17/2021:
I liked the cod better. Have some frozen salmon to try soon. Need another bag of potatoes!

bearcountrygg on 06/17/2021:
Are you SURE it wasn't the cat..>LOL

Horn_of_plenty on 06/17/2021:
those fries look AMAZING. are they nice and pretty crispy!?

Jacky82020 on 06/17/2021:
They were!

Donkey on 06/18/2021:
OH my goodness, those potato wedges look soooo good!
