Just a final May weight.
Creeping up! Need to focus more.
Progress as of today: 20.2 lbs lost so far, only 3.8 lbs to go!
Same old same old re diet and exercise.
Struggling with the taxes. been doing ~4 hours a day. Should be done in a few more. All the trading and switching around brokerage firms greatly complicated things this year. Boring! Looks like I underpaid ~10% and it's over 10 I'll have a penalty. The husband can easily change his withholding online so will do so very soon.
Progress as of today: 20.4 lbs lost so far, only 5.6 lbs to go!
LOL - thanks for the photo laugh :-D
So I know many people sitting in multimillion dollar houses (real estate sky rocketed in parts of California, such as San Francisco) who pay far less than me at this house worth a fraction of their market values. Sucks!
Awesome!
Been lots of places: Boston, LA, SF, Chicago, tiny West Virginia and Iowa towns and London and Paris and Spain. And more!
WOW! THEY REFUNDED THE ENTIRE COST OF $34 TO MY PayPal,
They aologized and said feel free to donate them. That's a big Hell No!
Told them the customer service is every bit as excellent as my friend in Michigan said.
At least I think you live there, Bear.
Pissed off at Box.com! They list calories as 90-100 in the online ad, but it says 120 on the actual bag for the BBQ flavor which has 10 gms protein. The Pure Protein ones that have 18 gms protien have 120 or 130 Cals, so I thought the protien content per oz was more equivalent on the Flex product.
they do taste great though. better than the puffs.
Progress as of today: 21.8 lbs lost so far, only 4.2 lbs to go!
These look like a really good idea - I would not have thought to consider a salty snack.
They do taste really good and better for me than the Quaker Rice chips, but still......
I see they are offering 10% off on a $99 offer. Don’t need anything now, but will see if I can get 15% off these protein crisps next time.
Thanks, Bear!
Just this week he wore the accurate replacement (that he had to purchase).
A few times they said keep the item and still refunded me. Think they have a $10 cut off on that.
Haha, this Box Company is hilarious. They sent an email from the CEO and then 2 more emails saying the CEO sent an email. And they will have a special letter in the Box. I should reply & say the only special letter would be a 25% off coupon.
this is funny. Box.com sent a selfie of my order. they also lied and said it has been shipped, the same way everyone else does. what they do is create a mailing label for UPS etc and that initiates the order shipped notification. at least it means the process is underway. not sure where it's coming from. Should arrive in a few days I'm guessing. really excited about the hi protein puffs. Thanks, BEAR!
Progress as of today: 23.2 lbs lost so far, only 2.8 lbs to go!
I will be checking their prices. All I know now is the rice crisps and cakes were 7% higher than Walmart, plus I get an additional 5% off with my capital one credit card. Fortunately the big Walmart is about 2 miles away.
All these places, including the banks that I use to play the Free Bonus Money Games, are wising up,
So cute that your boxed shipment has a selfie :-)
Never heard of hi protein puffs until I saw the Pure Protein brand at Walmart for $2 for the one oz bag which began a quest that ended at Box.com for a better price.
And starving,!
This is my latest find. Outrageously priced. Made by Pure Protien, company that made the protein bars I used to buy at Costco when I worked outside the house.
18 grams of protein in a 130 serving. Texture like Cheetos. Saw them at Walmart for $2 and only got one, thinking I could get a better price. But No! over $2.50 at Walmart.com and even more on Amazon and eBay. They have 10 oz jars for $25-45! Mind you, the little bags are just over an ounce. Will get more next time in the store.
Becoming increasingly difficult to maintain the CR & IF. But we say here: Don't give up the ship!
Progress as of today: 23.2 lbs lost so far, only 2.8 lbs to go!
i do not love those pure protein bars...or that brand....the flavor seems good tho.
is the taste like cheetos too?
i need more of a review from you about the taste!
lately i try not to buy as many "protein items," going more with just reglar carb-y bars and chips and the like. i used to eat them so much, my taste buds don't like them anymore.
I’ve been overdoing it on the 50 calorie white cheddar rice cakes. Top them with whipped cream cheese and sugar free jam or hot Thai tuna.
The protein puffs were good, but sure I’d prefer a flavor besides Brick Pizza, the only one Walmart had in the store. All kinds of flavors available from Pure Protein and their competitors. Shocked at up to $45 for a ten ounce jar of some. But some are $25 & just thinking that’s the same as the $2 for 1 ounce bag at Walmart (on the $25 end).
Yes! Taste like Cheetos in terms of texture & crunchiness etc . Very filling. Thinking of buying the 10 oz jar for $25 in a preferred flavor from Amazon.
But! Something tells me Walmart maybe be closing this item out. They had a huge end cap display.
At the time, Pure Protein bars had the highest protein count with the lowest calories. Other ones tasted better, but more carbs. This was going onto 15 years ago. Probably better bars out now.
I got the PB or chocolate Pure Protein bars. They were a bit on the dense dry side, but satisfying if one gets famished enough.
Plan B on catching the cat: bought large trash can with attached lid. Put cushion on bottom. Will drop her in and slam lid & roll it into the cat room.
At least she hasn't run off. I heated up a big bowl of tuna and she's outside eating it now,
So near yet so far! Decided to grab the cat and put her in a parrot transport cage. Easily picked her up, but she quickly ran out the door before I could close it. Heartbroken. canceled vet appointment, but asked if I could pick up ear drops and possibly better antibiotics than what I'm using. The tech is to call the vet and get back to me.
Thinking of something to put her in that she can't so quickly get out of. Considering a trash can & exploring lids. need an attached one, she'd be too quick if I tried to put on the standard lid.

Very disappointed! Caught another cat in the trap yesterday evening, not my Little Flash. It was a pretty calico; we quickly saw the trap sprung & released her.
I have until ~8 today to catch her & then I'll have to cancel the vet appointment for the spaying. I am more concerned over infections near and likely in the ear. Have been treating as best as I can with topical & powdered antibiotics, but not particularly effective. She needs a long acting injection.
Progress as of today: 22.8 lbs lost so far, only 3.2 lbs to go!
Trying to copy and insert a link from today’s Washington Post for you. Not luck yet.
Not getting much good advice online. Most having better luck than me with the live traps. Much horrible stuff like ppl rounding up dozens and killing them, so I can’t look online anymore.
I would look at the tips for the frdige/freezer tomorrow!
Did you find the missing file? I constantly misplace stuff.
So did you catch the cat
Doing 30K combo steps/bike peddles. Trying to pick up pace, all too easy to become distracted and slowdown on the bikes.
It's April & I get another bar. Soon, no regrets over deleting all August & September entries.
Shocked to see snow this morning! Was 74 Tuesday.
Progress as of today: 21.8 lbs lost so far, only 7.2 lbs to go!
Rather than deleting ALL entries from a past month, are you leaving 1 post up so that you will have a bar (on the graph) for that month? I guess not?
It only takes one entry to leave the bar up, however that entry can be a distortion of the monthly average since it’s a single data point. Doesn’t much matter to me. Just been too lazy/busy to delete more.
photo reminds me of Bear's photos of her country road she sometimes posts photos of!
we were possibly going to get snow, but sooooo glad we did not!
InnerPeace often posts lovely pics too. Wish she’d post more of her dogs! Absolutely adorable!!! Think she calls them Rocco & Steve.
Also Annie! Spectacular views of the loch by her house. Miss her.
Asked the husband if he enjoyed working out and he said: HELL NO! lol. Feel the same way. And even more so about CR and IF. Sucks! But we want to be fit & healthy & there's a price to pay.
The EBay seller opened a case against me re the USB heatable insoles. He provided a prepaid address label which I couldn't print because my HP Printer croaked. Replaced it with a nice Brother printer. The seller gave me until 3/7 to them & told me to take it to the PO & they will print the label for me. Never heard of that & didn't want to go here. Way cross town & long line. So was going to return ASAP, but received the case notice from eBay. They automatically decided in the seller's favor. All I could do was post a nasty review: SELLER SELLS GARBAGE! IN THE TRASH WHERE THEY BELONG!!!
Progress as of today: 22 lbs lost so far, only 1.5 lbs to go!
I still do PayPal. Easy to get reimbursed if something happens. Amazon is good too. I could possibly open a PayPal case re the bad insoles. But not worth the $10.
That unpleasantness with Ebay -- nobody needs that kind of **** in their lives. WTF...
Also he goes long & very fast on the treadmill & elliptical. Of course all depends upon the individual, but I’m with Matt.
then again, if it were easy, everyone would do it...
for me, exercise is easier than any other challenge...
today i let mysellf get away with indulging, somehow the calories got away from me..
lol, sorry about the commotion with the ebay seller. eh, things happen. glad it wasn't over a large, expensive purchase.
We got stuck in the driveway & now poor Matt is shoveling away. I did call the guy who does this private road we live on & asked him to do our drive, but he hasn't made it by yet. Silver lining is Burger King is now open & I have a $5 coupon for 2 little bacon cheeseburgers, 1 fry & 1 drink.
Saw a terrific article in the NYT a few days ago on how to order authentic N95's. Ordered and should arrive soon. Yay!
Today's a gym day, weights.
Progress as of today: 21.4 lbs lost so far, only 2.6 lbs to go!
but their fries did win me over.
Never tried the Impossible Burger. Hear it tastes like the real thing. Too bad it’s hi in calories. Guess that’s what makes it taste good!
For occasional use, some are saying rotate the masks every 5 days if worn daily. This limits stretching the bands. I know I am have a terrible time getting a proper fit with the KN95 & would rotate, but I don’t leave home on a daily basis.
Some also say rotating will allow sufficient time for any contamination to die off.
Given my limited mask use, I plan to wear the same one for ages. I did have to order 20 & will give some to friends/family.
Let me know if you find anything interesting!
that didn't work. will try again.
Gym pics.
Here is an interesting covid vaccine story. A friend's mother fell and broke her shoulder. The friiend is going over everyday to help these elderly parents, I think 70 & 75. The mother called in a visiting nurse. And a PT. My friend became extremely concerned they would expose her parents to covid & spent hours trying to get them appointments. Finally she phoned the Rite Aide pharmacist, weeping hysterically. He said: Fine, bring them in at 11AM tomorrow. She did and all went well! She is too young to get one for herself now. This is in NY.
Sore from workout yesterday, but a good sore. Plan is to do the gym every other day, like the husband. He spends less time on the legs, says he gets enough from running & the elliptical. I don't run, merely walk fast when I tread. He has always ran like a fiend from hell is chasing him. Allows him to pig out on giant desserts & not gain an ounce. A$$hole.
Progress as of today: 22.8 lbs lost so far, only 3.2 lbs to go!
great gym pics. you are seriously SET! :)
Give the gym a whirl every 5 years or so. Damn husband never lets up. A$$hole. lol.
So proud when the gym was done until they reassessed the property and sent a big tax bill. Hired a lawyer and appealed. They did lower it some, but made me understand why the neighbors built without permits.
maybe start with tops 6 exercises, repeated with 3 sets each!?
Enjoy listening to some albums I haven’t heard for a while downstairs
it's very challenging to maintain weight because it takes your mind and body awhile to get used to what you need to consume in order to maintain your weight, yes.
hope you are doing well this holiday weekend...time for me to quickly rinse off and go for a nice stroll....haven't gone walking since Friday during commuting!
Donkey on 05/31/2021:
I know this entry is just a place marker for now, but I agree with Horn.
Horn_of_plenty on 05/31/2021:
