(CR & IF & Exercise)
Weight: 110.6

Dinner!  1 whole carton of Egg Beaters, 3 cups cooked spinach and 8 chopped up chedder slices, topped with tonion & garlic powder.   Not sure how many calories.   enough for 2 days for both or us.)

Well guess that fat squirrel had his fill.   jays, chickadees and cardinals at the new platform feeder.   hard to focus and get a decent pic holding this iPad up to the window.en

Set out a platform feeder for the cardinals and guess who took over?

Focusing on weight training now and asked the husband to be my personal trainer.   this is his upper body routine.   I barely got halfway through yesterday.   Much good soreness

Flat bench press:            Compound, pecs & triceps

Crunches:                         Abs

Machine Fly:                   Isolation pecs

Hand grippers:                Isolation, forearm

Cable Fly:                         Isolation, pecs

Cable pull-down:             Compound, lats & biceps

Cable push-down:           Isolation triceps

Flat bench press, set 2:

Machine preacher curl:  Isolation, biceps

Kickback:                          Isolation, triceps

Finish preacher curls:

Decline bench press:      Compound, lower pecs & triceps

Dyna Bee (Gyro):            Isolation, forearms

Barbell curl:                     Isolation, biceps

Incline sit-ups:                 Abs

Decline bench press, set 2:

Cable row:                       Compound, Lats & Biceps

Incline bench press:        Compound, upper pecs & triceps, maybe some delts

Concentration curl:        Isolation, biceps

Machine arm extension: Isolation, triceps

Machine Fly, set 2:

Cable pull-down (different bar): Compound, lats & biceps

Spin Cycle, 10 min.

Dumbbell Curls:              Isolation, biceps

Sets are typically 7 or 8 reps; exception is the crunches:  That works out to be 8 reps each of type 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b, 3a, 3c, for 48 total.

Weight is set so that I cannot typically do another rep after the last in the set.

Progress as of today: 23.4 lbs lost so far, only 2.6 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 01/31/2021:
Good plan!

Jacky82020 on 01/31/2021:
If i stick with it! A shame not to take advantage of that gym downstairs.

Donkey on 01/31/2021:
I have that problem with squirrels too. Fortunately for me, I enjoy watching them too. We have several nests in our trees.

That's quite an impressive upper body workout. I am not nearly that diversified or dedicated. I lose interest after the 3rd exercise or so, so I try to do 3 sets of 1 exercise per body part (chest, back, triceps, biceps).

I tend to gain weight on the scale when I weight train.

Jacky82020 on 01/31/2021:
The husband has been really into it for a good 25 years. I am wondering if I will add any muscle poundage and if so, fat loss will compensate

grannyannie on 01/31/2021:
We have red squirrels that get into all our bird feeders.

Jacky82020 on 01/31/2021:
Lots of reds and greys here. Love the occasional black eastern grey. Very striking.

horn_of_plenty on 02/01/2021:
I think tomorrow at work I’ll read thru your hubby’s routine in closer detail :)

Your egg recipe turned out great! Thanks for reminding me I should make some egg muffins with fillings to bring dor breakfast to work whenever I decide to break free from my carb kick !

horn_of_plenty on 02/01/2021:
I meant to call it an egg casserole!

Jacky82020 on 02/01/2021:
They call that egg thing a frittata. Baked this one in the oven. Very simple to toss together. Wish I had a can of chopped tomatoes. You can add any veggies you want. It’s like a quiche minus all the heavy cream. Much better.

My lovely egg cooker!

Appears I deleted today's post right now, inadvertently.

Probably spam. Congrats on the loss!

Jacky82020 on 01/28/2021:

Yeah, had to be, but I don’t see how someone can get that DD email To me that looks exactly like all the others without having their name on the forum. Not like this place is worth hacking.

KathyBlue on 01/28/2021:
Congrats on the loss! :) Yes, I reported that guy as a spammer and the webmaster must have already taken action and removed his spamming a$$ from here :)

Jacky82020 on 01/28/2021:
Thanks, I am into disease reduction via calorie restriction more than weight loss, but two tightly linked.

Did you get the same email saying Faruque posted? Weird!

Donkey on 01/28/2021:
I love frozen bananas! Frozen pineapple and mango is good too. Have you frozen red grapes? those are so delightful!

Whoa, way to go on the weight drop! Do you think that just eating less was the cause? I have a theory that eating frozen foods, like the bananas, requires a little more calories to burn because the body has to spend energy to keep you warm after eating something really cold.

Well, it's still a victory on the scale, so good for you!

Jacky82020 on 01/28/2021:
Well, only had 1/2 of a frozen banana so far, so couldn’t say if it contributed to weight loss. Would be nice! We shallmsee! I will try freezing grapes, nice bite size little things. Thanks for the suggestion!

Maria7 on 01/28/2021:
What a cute eggs photo!

Jacky82020 on 01/28/2021:
Thanks, love the color. Matches my stove, fridge & dishwasher.

grannyannie on 01/28/2021:
Well done on the loss!

Jacky82020 on 01/28/2021:
Thanks! A profound dislike of cooking has its advantages. I’m ok with the same old things everyday.

The frozen banana slices with sugar free chocolate syrup were really good! Weighed the banana. 116 gms, so just over 100 calories. Beats the M&M tube at 180 and the goat cheese low carb tortillas. Think I will rotate among the 3. Need a nighttime dessert!

Horn_of_plenty on 01/28/2021:
i do remember that egg cooker. those 3 nighttime snacks are a good mix. i like mixing things up too...i get bored always eating the same thing!

Jacky82020 on 01/28/2021:
Yep, good to change the desserts. I am starving right now and dying to get my hands on that banana.

Horn_of_plenty on 01/28/2021:
Legs is in Canada.

Jacky82020 on 01/28/2021:

Doing soy protein powder mix for change today.  marvelous flavors and great texture, very thick and rich when mixed with water in the blender.   used chocolate mocha today, had a cup cold and another hot.  100 cal per serving, 27 gms protein.

coffee&calories on 01/26/2021:
That’s amaZing! Great job! I see it says CR. Is that calorie restriction (cron?). If so, I read a book and was super interested in it, did it for a little while and fell off. Still want to do it though.. you

Jacky82020 on 01/26/2021:
Yep, that’s what it is. I stumbled across an ebook at the library called The Switch that reminded me of the calorie restriction research. I am far more interested in disease risk (cancer, CVS etc) than weight loss at this point, but dropping the 20+ is good! Terrific book that sums up all the research.

How is the knee feeling now?

Jacky82020 on 12/05/2020:
Very painful! Getting worse. Staying in bed with the dogs and reading. Walking with awful limp like I have a huge fork shoved up my butt.

grannyannie on 12/05/2020:
Ouch! Take it easy and don't make it worse!

Maria7 on 12/05/2020:
Hope you knee gets better.

Jacky82020 on 12/05/2020:
Thanks, Maria. Sure it will, only a matter of when. I am dreading the possibility of surgery. The pain! The expense!

Horn_of_plenty on 12/05/2020:
i really also hope your knee gets better. i struggle with ankle and leg former injuries as well, sucks.

1000 cals doing nothing is like being an elderly woman who is bed-bound...you burn more, i am sure!

sorry some garlics were bad but it sounds like you got a lot of good ones! how awesome that you are into these types of experiments. you'll have to let us know on this natto, i'd NEVER had tried that on my own if you paid me! (well, depends how much you'd pay me! ) hahaha

Jacky82020 on 12/06/2020:
Yep, the one thousand is for going nothing or next to it. Sure the average person (my size) self-isolating and not exercising would burn closer to 1200. Averages are just that, averages. Do believe I’m at one end of the bell curve & my BMR is below normal. So, the 1000 is not the old bedridden lady in my case.

Horn_of_plenty on 12/05/2020:
i hope you are able to learn something more than you already do now about your knee. for me, it was terrible and endless and painful for YEARS. then i just learned i'd have to let it recover, like you are, i took 3 months off everything and got very depressed...that's what i needed to start the recovery...

Jacky82020 on 12/06/2020:
Very anxious to see what this guy has to say. Too bad the appointment was so far out from when I called, but on the other hand I felt being triaged to the basement meant it was a minor injury that may well heal before the appointment. He did say call if it gets worse and I should have. This has gone on 2-3 months. I am terrible with dates!

Donkey on 12/06/2020:
At least some of the garlic turned out. Imagine how disappointing it would have been if nothing turned out.

It will be intresting to see what happened to your knee. I foresee a scan of some sort. (I hope that's not delayed by covid.) Then, I predict either physical therapy or a consultation with an orthopedic surgeon. PT is fine and fun. The other option... not so much.

Let's see if I'm psychic!

Jacky82020 on 12/06/2020:
Your psychic abilities are 100% in alignment with my own! The Image Center is in the same building. I do know it closed down for three months earlier in the year. My mammogram was postponed. Maybe they did certain images? idk. Also know several surgeries including joint replacements etc were deemed elective and weren’t done. Haven’t followed all this lately Don’t watch local news & cancelled subscription to local paper. They did say the two sports PCPs worked with orthopedic surgeons in another location. I am really hoping for a DX tomorrow.

Not my usual dinner of soybeans & cabbage.   Made a pot roast with potatoes, carrots and onions for the husband.   Only had the veggies, but soaked up the gravy with a fat wheat roll.   Easily 500 Cals if not considerably more.   My bad.

Weight has stabilized.   Not losing more because I am eating more and not exercising.   Knee still sore and doc appointment not until 12/7.  Hoping he says exercise away, it won't make things any worse. Really want to hit 115 by 12/31/20, but if not, then early 2021.

KOMBUCHA Experiment #1.   Took liberties with the recipes. Poured 16 oz of raw unpasteurized GT in 2 quarts of tea.   Used 3 black bags, 2 geeen and 2 decaffeinated black (latter found lurking in cabinet)

Added 3/4 Cup granulated sugar.  Cooled tea to 85 degrees and poured in GT.   Lots of SCOBY (Symbiotic Colony Of Bacteria & Yeast) in bottle.   If it goes forth and mutiples, I'm in business. Put in bird room, warmest in house, 70-74.   The cloth is to keep undesirables out and allow CO2 to escape. Will add flavors and possibly a sweetener later.   The raw GT tasted like crap compared to the peach/ pineapple flavor.now

Got glucose meter to work & disappointed with the result of 107.  John Clement says fasting level ideal at 75-85, under 95 ok.  Only a cup of coffee all day, a little chocolate soy protein mix added.   May have not sufficiently hydrated today which could also raise levels.

Meant to try reading first thing in AM, but broke fast by eating 2 bananas in the middle of the night.   Will try to avoid the same tonight & drink more water.

I was 99 after a 12 hr fast in July.   Expected much better after losing over 15 pds. & a far superior diet.   Of course some margin of error to be expected between the lab and my cheapie ReliOn.

Progress as of today: 16.4 lbs lost so far, only 7.6 lbs to go!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/28/2020:
well, it's best you work on at least stabalizing your weight so far to what you weigh now...you cannot live on cabbage and soy beans forever! ;) 500 cals is a good size meal, still very low cal considering a comparison to a typical bigger meal. you are doing good!

i thought that when making the kombucha, it needs refrigeration? or not?

well, maybe the two bananas changed your glucose reading considerably?

let us know if you do continual glucose monitoring and give me all the details on the kombucha, especially after it takes & you give it a try.

Jacky82020 on 11/29/2020:
No refrigeration for kombucha. Ideal temp. Is 80. My bird room is 70-74 this time of the year. Ppl keep it at cooler temps, just takes longer. I am not into it enough to put a small heater in the bathroom to get 80, but i was once obsessed with dying white orchids blue & kept the bathroom hot and humid. Only a few days required. The kombucha will need at least ten days. Wising I’d bought at least 3 bottles of the raw GT so as to run simultaneous tests! But staying faithful to plan to reduce possible covid exposure.

grannyannie on 11/29/2020:
I think my brother drinks kombucha but I doubt he makes it himself.

Jacky82020 on 11/29/2020:
I’m a real DIY girl!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/29/2020:
well, you can do the simultaneous tests still...just buy more! maybe you'll learn a few tips from this test...and you can use those tips when you start up a few simultaneous tests!!! great ideas!

Jacky82020 on 11/29/2020:
Will definitely add at least 3 bottles of the GT raw to next Friday’s pickup list!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/29/2020:
you totally are a real DIY person! i cannot believe how many experiments and projects you do ! constantly!

Jacky82020 on 11/29/2020:
lol. Always liked doing what I can if possible & it can save the big bucks. Plus fun! Make a lot of money in the stock market but am as frugal as always. A family curse! When my dad was sitting on millions of dollars in SF real estate, he was lining up for free government cheese for anyone over 65. He got these big-assed blocks.

Donkey on 11/29/2020:
I'm sorry, what is GT?

I applaud this endeavor! I too am a DIY, especially if it costs a lot to buy the product off the shelves. It's good to have a homemade version, even if used as a "backup" alternative.

I'm sure the bananas affected the glucose reading in the morning. Try again?

Jacky82020 on 11/29/2020:
GT is a brand of kombucha that HOP likes. It costs $3 a bottle. I’ve found recipes that use the bottle as a starter to make more tea, You pour the store bought one into brewed tea & sugar and allow the yeast/bacterial culture to grow in a warm room. If I comes out ok, I will add fruit flavorings. I have several from my successful efforts to crack the diet Snapple peach ice tea. Tastes great!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/29/2020:
lol, the picture you posted for me is too blurry for me to read, but, it's my guess that you are showing me flash cards being sold on ebay! LOL...thanks for checking it out for me ;)

cannot wait to move on with myself, get away from PMP review...!

also, there's more i may share about the credentials, if i pass the test. otherwise, i will prob choose to study more, but then, if only failures, i will make the choice to never think about it again, as far as i can help it! LOL

Jacky82020 on 11/29/2020:
Yes! Flash cards & a cheat sheet from eBay. Posted them for fun. Sure you’re familiar with all the study crap available

Added a bottle of GT kombucha to Walmart list.  No idea if I will like this brew, but already thinking about making my own from this bottle.   I have a nice collection of peach and raspberry flavorings from my adventures in making Snapple.

Dinner, yet more soy beans and cooked slaw.   Liking fried sliced up whole cabbage better and won't be buying the raw slaw anymore.   plan to fry the cabbage with onions.

Progress as of today: 16.4 lbs lost so far, only 7.6 lbs to go!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/25/2020:

Jacky82020 on 11/25/2020:
Only want it as a starter. Will add my own flavorings

Horn_of_plenty on 11/26/2020:
great idea!!!

Maria7 on 11/26/2020:
We never know what we will like to eat unless we try new things. Yesterday, I tried making a grilled cheese sw with different ingredients...ugh...didn't work out. I had used mayonaise coating the outsides of the sw instead of margerine to cook the sw in, among other ingredients I put inside the cheese sw. Could have been a really good sw had I stuck when the way I usually cook one. SMILE!

Finally dinner!   I was starving.   had soy beans and the fried cole slaw mix and a tiny piece of the bbq beef sandwich leftover from yesterday.  Husband had steak and a baked potato and fpeam and carrots.   Now he gorge in on a huge piece of pie.

This is

black garlic.

It's done after 4-8 weeks.   no odor yet from mineThe hopefully soon to be black garlic is cooking in my rice pot.   Made a special trip to buy the garlic.   In and out of store fast, used self checkout.   considered padding the order up to $35 so I could get pickup, but afraid the convenient slots would be taken and think I'm getting too paranoid about covid.

Some saying the odor is awful & others saying they like it.   Nothing yet, guess it takes a while to develop.

Finally got into the 117's, but don't expect it to stick.  Weight bounces around, may take another week for it to stabilize.   But moving in the right direction.   be

Thanks, Annie!

Donkey on 11/21/2020:
Wow, you did it! Even if it fluctuates a little bit - you still did it!

Jacky82020 on 11/21/2020:
Thanks, it’s been an effort, I tell you. But an achievable goal that isn’t costing me any money. Wanted it for years, but have finally found the wherewithal.

Donkey on 11/21/2020:
Sorry, one more question: So is natto a savory thing or a sweet thing? Or does it depend on how you make it?

Jacky82020 on 11/21/2020:
Savory. No sweeteners added, fermented soy beans with this bacterial culture. Was difficult to find, Amazon doesn’t sell it anymore. Pricey in Canada and the UK, they wanted to sell a lot and I need very little to try it out. Often served with hot mustard, which I love.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/21/2020:
you have learned so much about some healthful things from all over the world! i see you really love to research! show us the black garlic and everything when it's done.

Jacky82020 on 11/21/2020:
Will do. Really enjoying researching these “super foods” and reading about the Blue Zones. They make it sound like most people eat s hi t and get sick and die too young.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/21/2020:
also, when you find out and can make a list of the inexpensive superfoods, that's what we wanna know...like garlic / onions.

Jacky82020 on 11/21/2020:
Yep & can’t think of anything more nutritious and less expensive than soy. A wonder food!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/21/2020:
btw, congrats on reaching 117!

also, thank you for the reminder on Soy...i used to buy tofu more regularly....i should buy it more, it's so convenient and has a long shelf life (in the fridge)...it's great when i'm low on protein, i can use it with veggies...and it's filling.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/21/2020:
hey jacky...can i friend you on FB!? some of us here are friends on there! :)

Jacky82020 on 11/21/2020:
Sorry, don’t really use FB. Occasionally the need arises fto create an account. Like once I wanted to see bald eagle photos someone from Pittsburgh posted on FB and I needed an account, so I got one. Basically a blank account. When I needed to use it a few years later, it was disabled. Seems if an account is empty and unused, FB takes it down. Went through this sequence a few times. Created the most recent account i3/21 because Frankie’s previous owner said she had lots of his baby pics there. Copied some and my guess is that account will be gone too should the reason arise to use it again.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/21/2020:
a pie that i love most is pumpkin pie....i should get off my a$$$$ and make it now, to have some with dinner...yup!

Jacky82020 on 11/21/2020:
Love them too. Occasionally cook a frozen one

Horn_of_plenty on 11/21/2020:
i'm making the pumpkin pie filling, no pie crust, cooks up just the same and perfectly tatsy!

Jacky82020 on 11/21/2020:
Don’t eat the crust when I bake the frozen pie Never liked pie crust

Horn_of_plenty on 11/21/2020:
yeah, the crust just makes me want to have more crust but is not satisfying at all!

Jacky82020 - Wednesday Nov 18, 2020
(CR & IF & Exercise)
Weight: 118.4

Healthy but boring dinner.   Salmon and the stir fried cabbage mix with the Italian blend vegetables.  Not certain about calories, but for sure under 400.   The husband had the same thing but with mac  and cheese, the frozen stoeffers one that is pretty good.    High in fat and salt! & calories.

No exercise for last few days.   Knee getting worse. Have appointment to see sports doc on 12/7.  Wish it weren't so far out!   Considered going to Urgent Care on Sunday, but learned they don't do images, even though the imaging center is in the same building.

On track to hit 117 by month's end.   Then 115 by end of December and my goal of 110 early 2021.   Impossible to say how much IF is helping with weight loss. Doing it for other health benefits.  Reading more and more the American way of eating multiple times throughout the day is not  good, 3 meals a day is much better & two better yet. Something to do with the continuous release of insulin.

Saw doc film on Prime the other day about some woman in the UK. Basically ate herself to death. Not sure of her exact weight, they use stones instead of kg or pounds. But think a stone is 14 pds.   Had trouble making the math conversions mentally, but she had to be over 600 pds.   This bariatric surgeon was going on and on about how ppl stuff their faces all day long & how unhealthy it is.   Of course she was an extreme example.   He said a lion may have a big meal a day and that's it.  You don't see any saying: think I'll have a chipmunk or two to tide me over until dinner time.   lol.

Progress as of today: 15.6 lbs lost so far, only 8.4 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 11/18/2020:
Yes, a stone is 14 lbs. Some also use kg here but for my weight I weight in lbs. My scale is set to lbs.

The UK is catching up with the US in percentage of the population who are obese. But there is much less here who are morbidly or grossly obese. I've seen a difference over the 20 years I've been here.

Jacky82020 on 11/18/2020:
The US is the fattest nation in the world. Saw a list recently. Forget #2. May have been Mexico because at one time they were #1 The Asian countries were the thinnest as I recall

grannyannie on 11/18/2020:
Asian countries much thinner. They eat a lot more veggies and less other crap. Although they do eat a lot of rice.

Jacky82020 on 11/18/2020:
Yes! Their diet is far healthier than ours, but some areas are becoming Westernized and eating our crappy junk food. This book I read that discussed the super-centenarians in Okinawa said their grands and greatgrands are porking up. Eating McDonald’s etc

We noticed when we first went to Thailand in 2014 that most people were thin to average. We were shocked to see McDonalds and KFC and Dunkin Donuts, etc. And Thais are getting fatter and fatter. The mall where I do our grocery shopping has a KFC in it and I always notice that it's almost all Thais eating there.

The clothing sizes in the stores have gotten bigger too.

Jacky82020 on 11/18/2020:
Wow, same as here. Got the LLBean and Lands End catalogs. Surprised to see how big many of the models were. Good in that they’re realistic. Also got the Choctaw Calendar. Never liked it, always has people. I’d prefer historical art work. Anyways, the tribal leaders are getting fatter and fatter. Even some kids they showed.

grannyannie on 11/18/2020:
Burgers aren't as big here as in the US although there is McD's. Fish and chips are really popular and very fattening! Pizza is popular.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/18/2020:
i, myself, have to eat multiple times a day because when i do not, i feel very weak...and then later when i do eat, i binge. some people can do intermittent, but it's not for me.

also, i think of all the people on here, you have lost weight the fastest. be safe though...and try to see yourself with a plan to keep it off. it will get some getting used to, maintenance.

Jacky82020 on 11/18/2020:
Whatever works, you’re doing terrific! And have maintained for years. Awesome!!!!

My plan is to continue with IF & CR. Good research shows they’re linked to lower risk of cancer, cardiac disease etc etc & healthy longevity. I feel great and man does that first meal of the day in late afternoon taste wonderful, nutritious and boring as it can be,

Horn_of_plenty on 11/18/2020:
and IF can help you to eat moderately and eat the things you love !!! :)

Jacky82020 on 11/19/2020:
Don’t I wish. Love cheesecake and Reese cups, but I’m into the most nutritional bang for your buck kinda foods that the CR ppl do. Hence they soy and vegetables. Gave up cheese. Replaced it with nut butters.

grannyannie on 11/19/2020:
Salmon and veggies is a very healthy meal.

Get that knee checked!

Jacky82020 on 11/19/2020:
Finally got a doc appointment. Will tell ya more soon.

Donkey on 11/19/2020:
I'm glad to hear that you're getting the knee checked, if it is still giving you problems. (I'm not glad to hear that it is giving you problems!)

When I had PF, I thought it was nothing, that the pain would pass. So I ignored it, or tried to, for a week or 2. By the time I saw the doctor, I could hardly walk on the foot.

Don't let that happen to you!

Jacky82020 on 11/19/2020:
They won’t see me until 12/7. Highly disappointed. Wish I had called sooner now.

legcramps on 11/19/2020:
Yum, I haven't had salmon in such a long time it seems. Might be on the menu for this weekend :)

I can understand your frustration with your knee. I hope time passes quickly for now between now and then.

Jacky82020 on 11/19/2020:
Me too, thanks. I always have a big sack of wild caught salmon fillets in the freezer. They have complex defrosting instructions which I ignore. Spray with Pam and top with garlic powder and microwave on power 7. Takes maybe 20 minutes. I’ve always been a lazy cook!

legcramps on 11/19/2020:
That's my kind of cooking ;)

Jacky82020 on 11/19/2020:
Lol, sista

Very curious about this "super food" natto.  Can't see paying $50 for 50 cents worth of ingredients. Looks like it can be made in a yogurt cooker.   Some say it tastes like cheese and I never met a cheese I didn't like. Will probably order the culture and this yogurt maker tomorrow.

This is natto, fermented soy beans. You add a bacterial culture and keep at 115 degrees for a 24 hours.   They say it's an acquired taste that tastes and smells horrible.   I tried to cut and paste a description here, but failed.   Very expensive online, has to ship in chilled containers.   I'd like to try it, but sounds creepy.  Wish I could find a small container. Probably could have in SF or San Diego, but not around here.

Super excited to get very cordial response to my email from John Clement.   He wrote The Switch, by far and  away best in show of the live long & healthy books.  Interesting guy. Practiced law for 20 years,  became an entrepreneur & then devoted 20 years to anti-aging research.   Doubt anyone in the whole wide world knows as much as John.   Offered to send me numerous copies of the book, but I declined, saying I've already made additional purchases for a few ppl.  Don't really know any others who would be interested.   He's big on CR & IF and explains everything at the molecular level.

Progress as of today: 15.2 lbs lost so far, only 8.8 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 11/16/2020:
Great you got a letter back. Hope you find the book helpful.

Jacky82020 on 11/16/2020:
Loving this book! My first ever fan letter to a writer. lol

Horn_of_plenty on 11/16/2020:
never heard of natto, but will listen to what you have to say...the price you wrote puts me OFF!

i agree, maybe you could find it in LA or san diego! haha...at first i thought it looked like a pudding or dessert of some sort. but after reading your taste/smell interpretation, i'll pass!

i'd have taken the book! haha...but then you'd have to mail it to me! LOL...and i think i'm set on studying for now! :)

Jacky82020 on 11/17/2020:
I got my first copy as an ebook from the Brooklyn Library, so sure you could get the ebook or a print copy at whatever library you use.

The natto sounds gross as hell per many people, but I am curious. One thing that concerns me now is I’m seeing ppl say it stinks up the kitchen. Maybe I shouldn’t attempt this at home!

grannyannie on 11/17/2020:
I've been eating/drinking soy for years. Soy milk and tofu mainly. I've read the main problem with too much is for women who are still planning on having babies.

Donkey on 11/17/2020:
I guess I'm missing the point of a stinky dessert? The picture is very pretty - I thought it was yogurt.

Jacky82020 on 11/17/2020:
Lol. It’s not a dessert, it’s a traditional breakfast food in Japan. Called a Super Food due to dense nutrients. Dying to know how stinky. Some fans say it’s more like certain cheeses and not all that ghastly.
