(Counting Calories & Exercise)
Weight: 125.0

Total Calories Today: 1313

Breakfast: quaker oats with 1% milk and a glass of orange juice.

Lunch: whole wheat tortilla with chicken, salsa, lettuce, onion and 1 tbsp of spicy mayo. 1 glass of 1% milk.

Snack: Not healthy but oh my weakness for chips!! I only had 10 chips (1 counted so I wouldn't eat more!) just over 100 calories.

Water: not doing so good with water today, I have only had 3 glasses so far. I must get more into me as the day goes on!!

Very Long Entry, Feeling Chatty Today!!

I went to the doctors this morning and it turns out that my injury wasn't exercise induced. Its caused by some kind of infection and were I'm all swollen (near groin area) is apparently were ladies will swell because that is where we drain when we have some type of infection near by??? Not even sure what my infection was that caused this, however he said it will go away by itself. I can still exercise as long as I feel comfortable and it isn't making this area hurt. Weird, don't ya think?! I don't really get how its caused although my doctor said motion, like stairs, will likely make it hurt more. I will avoid weights on my legs and using my stair stepper until it feels better.

While I was at the doctors my son had a needle for chicken pox. I had to make sure his immunization record was up to date because I have to go and register him for Junior Kindergarten in March. He will be 4 yrs old on May 1st so he will start school in Sept. I can't believe my youngest will be 4 in 3 months, wow time flys!! Anyways, he had his needle and he didn't cry or anything, he was so good! I told him his sister would have to go see the doctor to get that same needle so he could tell her it was nothing and it didn't hurt much. I'm sooooo lucky both of my kids have always been great about needles. Sometimes you hear babies and little kids screaming like crazy over a needle. I'm not freaky about them either so I think maybe it helps that I'm calm. Even when they were babies they didn't cry with their needles. The last needle Taylor had she asked if it would hurt, I didn't want to lie so I said it's just a tiny pinch and its over very quickly. My doctor said parents often tell their kids it doesn't hurt and its good that I'm honest because at least they know to expect a little pinch!!

Okay, the weight is going back down so it must have been because my menstrual cycle was coming, YAY! I was so frustrated thinking I was trying so hard to eat sensibly and exercising almost everyday and yet my weight was going back up!! I hope it maintains at 125 or less and doesn't bounce back up tomorrow! I know I'm obsessed with my scale and I should only really weigh myself once a week but I can't help myselp, habit I guess. Its scary that I have been so obsessed with my weight since I was about 11 yrs old. I really hope my daughter never catches on to this or gets this way herself. I am so carefull to never talk about my weight, say I feel fat etc, etc. I have always told her I exercise because it keeps me healthy and it keeps my heart strong. I also tell her it gives me the energy to keep up with her and her brother!! I never want her to feel insecure about herself or to be so consumed with food and her figure. I want her to be healthy and happy. I do want both of my kids to be active and understand that exercise is necessary and good for you (not to mention fun!)

Kirt and I went to my cousin Nathan's OHL game last night. It was kind of funny because I would normally be rooting for the Brampton Battalions because they are our home team but ofcourse when I was watching my cousin I wanted him and his team to do well( his team is the Kingston Frontenacs). They did end up winning 6 to 5. It was a good game and actually Brampton played great and they were really fighting to win that game. My cousin got a lot of ice time wich is impressive and unusual being that he is a first year rookie. He plays "Right Wing". He did hold the highest record for goals scored in his entire league when he played Triple A. Ofcourse he is now working with all kinds of talented, outstanding hockey players so he will have to work harder to get those goals!

While he played Triple A he won an award (in the form of a puck ofcourse!) for scoring first 50 goals and then by the end of his minor bantam season he won another award for scoring 100 goals in his season. His picture was on the cover of "OMHA Hometown Hockey" magazine and there was a two page article about him titled "Nathan Moon: A Bright Light on the Horizon". He was always a cute kid and now at 15 yrs old, he's a very nice looking young man. He will likely have alot of "Puck Bunnies" chasing him around, lucky for him!!! I'm so excited that he is doing so well. I kind of feel sorry for his older brother Brandon because I think alot of my Uncle and Aunt (his partents) attention and time has been devoted to Nathan and his Hockey. Hopefully they manage to give their other son alot of attention as well so he doesn't end up feeling bitter about his younger brother over shadowing him. When it became really obvious that Nathan had something special on the ice his older brother ended up quitting playing hockey all together, he started playing baseball instead.

Sorry about the long entry, I think I'm done now! That is if anybody had the time to read this!!

I will check in later with food and calories.

My neighbour just came by with her son selling chocolate!! He's only in kindergarten so ofcourse I can't say no!! I bought 2 huge boxes of smarties for the kids. Ofcourse they only get a little at a time, not the whole box! When my husband gets home I will tell him to hide them from me. I'm not kidding, I asked him to hide any chocolate from me! When the kids want it they will have to wait until their Dad's around. I can't trust my will power when it comes to chocolate, I love it!! What can you do!!!

Progress as of today: 6.5 lbs lost so far, only 15 lbs to go!

biscottibody59 on 02/09/2007:
You'll probably be as good as new as far as the swelling (probably lymph nodes). I used to get an acute reaction in both groin and underarm when I was a kid, after being bitten/stung by a red ant--not fire ant--they didn't exist around here until the last 20 years. Of course you may not know what I'm talking about at all, ant-wise:-) I figure it's way too cold up there in winter and properly kills them off. I have occasionally had a pain/swelling in the groin lymph glands as an adult, which went away after about 10 day-2wks. The only thing I could link it to would be stress and possibly a little sleep deprivation.

You may want to start tracking your measurements or body fat if the scale isn't doing it for you. You just seem to be doing all the right things!

BTW, Happy Belated Birthday--and have a good weekend!

sharklover on 02/09/2007:
Its great that you finally figuered out what your injury is (kind of)!

I don't blame you for having your husband hide the chocolate, I'm a chocolate fanatic myself. That does seem to be one of the hardest things to keep in check!

You're doing a great job!

(Counting Calories & Exercise)
Weight: 125.0

Breakfast: quaker oat cereal with 1% milk.

Okay, so I do have the kids cold. I don't feel to bad, just a little blah today. As long as its just a little head cold its not so bad, its when it turns into a sinus infection that it becomes unpleasant!

Tonight I have to try to get a sitter, likely my mom. My cousin, Nathan, just got drafted to the OHL (Ontario Hockey League) this year, he's 15 yrs old. He was playing in the Triple A league but he is a really great hockey player and has had scouts watching him since he was around 6 or 7 yrs old. He was picked to play for Kingston and this is the first game he has had in Brampton (where we live). I'm so happy for him, its not easy to make it to the OHL. Hopefully from here he can at least make it to University level or Europe etc. Ofcourse I would love to see him make it to the NHL but it takes a world of talent and maybe a little bit of luck and good timing!!

I'm going to try to get some serious cleaning and laundry done today! Its so easy to fall behind on the laundry, its a never ending task!! I will try to take it easy with the exercise today, I do want to at least ride my bike (on low tension ofcourse!) I find when I have my monthly friend, exercising really helps to ease my cramps!! I'm going to try to keep my calories to 1500 or below again today, it might be good if I go out tonight because I will be away from my kitchen!!

Hope everyone has a great day! I will update later.

Rode my bike for only 45 min burning 350 calories. I have very little energy today, I guess it's because my body is trying to fight off this cold. I had a hard time getting through 45 min so I'm going to leave the exercise alone for today and try to take it a little easy. Laundry and cleaning must count for something, right?! I live in a two story house and my laundry room is in the basement so I go up and down the stairs alot while doing laundry:)

Snack: small grapefruit with splenda

Water: I have already had 5 glasses of water today. I'm trying to flush out these germs!!!

Lunch: tuna sandwich on whole wheat and a small glass of 1% milk.

Also had a glass of 100% real orange juice (110 calories). I heard that Vitamin C helping with a cold is a myth but I figure it won't hurt me to have a little extra vitamin C!

Calories so far today are 732.

Total calories 1472.

Total Water: 10 glasses

Progress as of today: 6.5 lbs lost so far, only 15 lbs to go!

sweetpea1977 on 02/08/2007:
Thanks for the skincare advice. I am looking forward to trying out your recommendation. I hope they sell it here in the US!

Anyway, I hope you didnt work too hard on the house and laundry. There's no need to wear yourself out even more when you are already suffering from a cold.

Congratulations to your cousin. Thats great news!!

sharklover on 02/08/2007:
Good luck to your cousin, that's pretty awesome!

Wow, it seems like everyone is getting sick right now, even though we are all scattered all over the globe. Sometimes I believe there is a little bit of a mental factor too with getting over a cold. Like the more determined you are to get over it, the faster it goes away. I don't know, maybe that's weird but you seem pretty determined! Good luck!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 02/08/2007:
ohhh, so the kids got you sick! so unfair, considering you played such a role in getting them better!!!! feel better, you deserve some rest!

I hope you feel better and congrats to your cousin. :)

(Counting Calories & Exercise)
Weight: 128.0

Breakfast: quaker oats cereal with 1% milk.

I'm still hurting in my groin area (I think a strained or pulled muscles a few days ago) I rode my bike last night and it doesn't seem to have made it worse so I will ride my bike again today. I would like to go to the gym and just do light cardio and use the weights on my upper body only (arms etc) I won't do any weights for my legs until my swelling goes down and it feels better to walk.

Snack: 1 serving of organic veggie crackers with partly skimmed mozzerella cheese.

Water: 9 glasses

Exercise: Bike 65 min / 505 calories, 50 squats, 90 lundges (45/leg) and 200 back kicks (100/leg)

Lunch: whole wheat wrap with grilled chicken, red onion, ceasar dressing, 1 slice of bacon, lettuce and a glass of 1% milk.

Just started my monthly friend so hopefully that explains some of the weight gain. I usually gain a few pounds with my menstrual cycle.

I don't know for sure if my injury is in my groin or just in that "area". I am trying to take it easy with the exercise. Thank-you guys for your concern. I have a doctor's appointment on Friday morning so I will show him were I'm swollen and see what he say's. I promise if it's serious I will behave and back off the exercise! So far, I haven't been pushing to much and it doesn't seem any worse. I've decided I won't go to the gym this week and if my doctor gives me the okay, I will go back to the gym next week.

I have a hard time stopping the exercise completely because I am trying to make it a habit and I feel like if I take to much of a break I will break the habit. I realize 70% of weight loss is diet and only 30% is supposed to be diet but the problem for me is I struggle with the eating, so I feel like I need to exercise to counter act if I over indulge with the food!! I like to exercise and I think when I don't I tend to eat more junk than when I exercise.

Calories today were good, YAY!!! Total Calories today are 1411.

I also included my 1 tbsp of honey that I will put in my tea tonight before bed (64 calories). I'm not a fan of tea so last night I put honey in it and it made it not taste so bitter! It's supposed to be herbal and it says it will help with digestion and help to relax and calm you if you drink it before bed. If I haven't mentioned it, I have alot of trouble sleeping at night!! I have had difficulty sleeping since I was about 13 yrs old(basicaly since puberty!!) I don't know why! I have tried various sleeping pills in the past. I don't like to take sleeping pills because I have kids and I worry that I won't hear them in the night if they wake up and also I don't like to feel drowsy in the morning. I'm already a bit of a grumpy bear in the morning. I also find exercise during the day helps me to sleep better at night. I'm hoping the tea will also help me sleep better.

I'm going to try and read a couple diaries before I go drink my tea and try to get some sleep. I think I may be catching my kids colds. I'm hoping all the water I'm drinking, vitamins and a good nights sleep will help me to fight it off!!

Have a great night everyone!

Progress as of today: 3.5 lbs lost so far, only 18 lbs to go!

just be careful not to injure yourself further.

I HATE being all dressed up with no where to go! And don't feel bad about thinking about new years all ready... i'm think about next years super bowl and maybe having a party for it... haha.

You're going to be the MoH at your sisters wedding? That's really exciting and awesome that you get to do some no guilt shopping. It's like, "Well i HAVE to get this!" Haha... i love it!

Hope your legs start to feel better!

missingsmokes on 02/07/2007:
You still did lunges, squats, kick backs etc the last couple of days... with sore leg...silly girl :). If it is still swollen you should be resting it +++.A severe tear can cause a sudden, acute pain and may be accompanied by swelling and bruising. Even biking may be aggravting it, you would be better just walking or try swimming....this should interest you: Overuse injury Some groin injuries come from overuse when repeated minor injuries lead to strains or tears of the muscles. Overuse injuries occur when too much stress is placed on an area. This often happens when you overdo an activity or repeat the same activity day after day. Overuse may cause:

A hairline crack in a bone (stress fracture). Bursitis. Osteitis pubis, which is a condition that causes chronic groin pain because of stress on the pubis symphysis. Hip problems. Avoid aggravating activities for the first 1 to 2 weeks. When inflammation subsides, you can start a stretching program. And then a strengthening program of low-intensity exercises. Once activity is started again, ice the muscle after exercise to reduce any swelling. You should definitly rest it if it is swollen if you keep forcing yourself to do exercise the injury will get worse...make sure you warm up tooooo and stretch...but give yourself a couple of days, if you eat well you won't put weight on in a few days...don't forget...weight loss in only 20% exercise anyhow...:)

sweetpea1977 on 02/07/2007:
Wow, you are doing so great with your food and exercise choices! Keep it up!

Im sure TOM is the likely cause for your instantaneous weight gain. Just keep the water intake up and water weight will flush out of your system in a few days.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 02/07/2007:
your wrap at lunch sounds extremely flavorful!

(Counting Calories & Exercise)
Weight: 127.5

For breakfast I had quaker oat cereal with 1% milk.

This morning I took Craig to swim class, then we went to the library and then we went for lunch with my Mother-In-Law. I had the chicken ceasar salade. I had it with grilled chicken (not crunchy chicken) and I didn't use the croutons. The worst part ofcourse was the 1 packet of creamy ceasar that was 190 calories. I figured it wasn't to bad since the lettuce and chicken are good and the cheese is very minimal. I only use low calorie dressing at home, maybe next time I will bring my own dressing.

I didn't exercise yesturday because I seem to have injured myself a little. I guess I over did my exercises on Sunday because yesturday morning I was all swollen on my right side ( I guess its my groin area??) Anyways I've strained or pulled something, its very puffy and it hurts to walk. I took a break yesturday and I likely should take it easy today as well. I want to do something but I don't want to make it worse!! I think because I felt guilty for having over indulged some on the week-end and gaining weight I went a little crazy with the cardio. I felt all energized after resting on Saturday and I felt great while working out, oh well maybe I didn't stretch enough before and after!!

I did 800 step-ups (frontwards) and 200 step-ups sideways on my stair stepper (if that makes sense in writing!) and then I rode my bike for 50 min (410 calories). That was in the morning and then after I put the kids to bed I rode my bike for another 80 min (675 calories). I guess it was a little much:)

I will update calories, water etc later. Have a great day!!

Okay, so I wasn't doing to terrible but than my husband brought chocolate into the house!! He bought it for my daughter but he bought the huge box of mini kitt katt bars!! I ate 2 wich was 160 calories plus I way overate at dinner and had a couple to many snacks today. All in all, I had way to many calories!! My total for today is 1907. That is ofcourse if I stay away from the kitchen for the rest of the evening! I wasn't going to exercise but now I feel so guilty and fat! I am going to ride my bike after I put the kids to bed so hopefully I can at least take off 500 calories or so and maybe I won't gain weight in the morning.

I did do 50 squats, 90 lundges (45/leg) and 150 kick backs (75/leg) I think I hurt myself using my stair stepper (the kind you use for aerobics classes not the actual machine) so I will try to stay away from doing that type of exercise for a couple days.

I still need to drink more water before the night is through.

Rode my bike for 65 min burning 515 calories.

Water: 8 glasses

Progress as of today: 4 lbs lost so far, only 17.5 lbs to go!

Tourguidebarbie on 02/06/2007:
Wow! 675 Calories in 80 mins? That's pretty darn awesome! :)

Wise idea to take a break from the exercise... Have a great evening =)

Donkey on 02/06/2007:
I definitely recommend taking a break from the exercise until the area that hurts feels better. When I strained my inner thigh muscle (the one that wraps up to the groin/hip area), I tried running 2 days in a row until I realized I was injured. Then I tried running once a week, for 3 weeks, until I felt no pain in running. Then I started out really slow w/one mile. Hopefully your pain won't take as long to reconcile itself.

Our schools were open today even though it was still very cold outside - plus snow today! The reason our schools were closed on Monday was because the buses wouldn't start. I suppose that's why our garbage (refuse) pick-up was delayed today. So it wasn't out of concern for the kids; the blasted buses were stalled.

How can 2 little kit-kats have 160 calories? Just seems criminal, doesn't it?

Horn_Of_Plenty on 02/07/2007:
Your exercise sounds fantastic...oh how i miss exercising more!

(Counting Calories & Exercise)
Weight: 127.5

Yikes, I'm up a few pounds. I'm hoping its because my monthly friend is coming although I did indulge a bit this week-end. I didn't think I did to badly but I did have a small piece of cake on my Birthday and Friday we went to my Hubby's parents and I had a few alcoholic beverages.

I must say I really enjoyed those drinks (maybe a little to much!) I had a nice happy buzz going!! My Mother-in-law, Father-in-Law and Brother-in-law all had a few, we were all feeling rather good!!! My hubby didn't drink because he had to drive and he also hasn't been feeling well. He has some strange infection on his leg so I don't know if its the infection or the antibiotics that are making him feel so ill but he went to lay down while we were at his parents because he felt nauseous. He didn't get to go to the Super Bowl party this year, instead he watched the game in our bed!

I was pleasantly surprised that my Mother-In-law was very considerate and encouraging about my choice to eat healthier. She made bar-b-que chicken, corn and mashed potatoes. I ate 1 chicken breast (plain) and a very small amount of mashed potatoes with a little bit of butter. She even bought a small fruit tray with low fat dip for me to have while the rest of them had their unhealthy snacks in the evening! I thought that was very thoughtful of her and I'm so glad she is being supportive instead of giving me the typical, oh don't be silly your not overweight!! I'm still getting that from my own mother and my friends, its so frustrating!!!

My one girlfriend (who happens to be extremely tiny!!) makes me crazy because she is always saying,"oh you don't need to loose any weight you'll be too skinny"! Why do I feel like she doesn't want me to succeed when she herself is very tiny, I don't understand it!! I know she is very obsessed with being "skinny" herself, I've known this girl since we were 10 yrs old!!! I just don't know why my friends are so unsupportive!! My goal isn't to be "skinny", its to be healthy and fit! Anyways enough of my complaints! I know not to expect support from my friends that is why I love this web site so much, I actually feel like people are encouraging me and want me to do well!

On my Birthday (Thurs, Feb 1st) my husband and kids decorated with balloons and my daughter decorated a very small cake for me, it was really cute and nice! My hubby and kids got me an MP3 player and the gadget that allows you to wear it either around your neck, on your pants or on your arm (wich is ideal for working out) He got me this so I could download songs to work out to at the gym wich was very nice. No I didn't get an Ipod. I'm really okay without having the fancy, newest electronics. I actually feel bad spending that kind of money on myself. I would rather get things for my children. I only wanted the MP3 player for the purpose of listening to tunes at the gym!!

From my mother I got a really nice warm housecoat ( I wanted one because I'm always freezing! ) my sister got me a really nice set of PJ's from "La Senza", my mother in law got me a cute short housecoat (she said to use in the summer) thats ofcourse pink. She also got me cute matching slippers. What she didn't realize is they whistle at me when I walk, I thought that was quite funny!! Corny yes, but cute!! My daughter keeps steeling them and wearing them around! My brother-in-law got me the new Nelly Fertado Cd "Loose" that has "Promiscuous", "Maneater" and the newest song "Say It Right". The whole Cd is very fun and funky! My Brother-in-law also bought me the DVD of Madonna's latest tour "Confessions on the Dancefloor". I have been a Madonna fan since her first release "Borderline" when I was only 8 yrs old. I haven't been fortunate enough to get near a concert ticket the last 2 tours. They are impossible to get unless you bid on them or pay an insane amount of money to buy them from a scalper. I did see her when I was 18 yrs old, it was "The Girlie Show" tour. I'm not a fan of her morals and personal choices but I love her music and I think she is a very talented performer.

Did everybody see "Prince" doing the half time show?! I know I must be showing my age, but how can you not love Prince!! I seen him with a group of 10 girls in 2003 for his "Musicology" tour. He is great in concert. He is such a little man, imagine him next to one of those massive football players hehe!!!

Anyway, I think I have babbled on enough for now, I will check in later with my total calories etc.

Thanks again for all the birthday wishes and encouragement when I was in a mood the other day!!

Total calories were good at 1470. Then I drank this nasty tasting tea (I'm not a fan of tea!!) but its supposed to be all natural and good for digestion and relaxing to drink before bed. I couldn't get the taste out of my mouth so I ate about 9 crackers (87 calories) so my total ended up being 1557 for the day. The water just wouldn't get rid of the taste!! Maybe I'll try it with a tiny bit of honey next time?!

Water for the day was good, I had 8 glasses.

Progress as of today: 4 lbs lost so far, only 17.5 lbs to go!

That was nice that your MIL is supportive of your weight loss. Perhaps your skinny girlfriend doesn't want you to be skinny like her because then it would make her skinniness less special. Who knows...

That was very nice of your MIL. I know what you mean when you talk about your friend. I have a friend who is the same height as me and weighs over forty pounds less. She keeps asking me why I want to lose any more weight, and saying she thinks i've lost enough. Its as if I'm not allowed to be th same weight she is!!! The funny thing is, shes a really nice woman, not bitchy or anything. Belated birthday wishes. Glad you had a good day :)

(Counting Calories & Exercise)
Weight: 127.0

Up a pound as I suspected, so frustrated!! It makes me want to go and eat!! I'm going to try to behave. I just feel like all this effort over the last few weeks is going to be undone in just one week-end!!!

My butt and calves are killing me from doing the 500 step-ups the day before yesturday. I should maybe rest my muscles but I really feel like I can't afford to take a break from exercising. I feel like, once again, all my efforts to exercise are just going to barely manage to maintain my weight rather than loose it. I rode my bike (not into it today at all!) for 65 min burning 510 calories. I did 600 step-ups on my stair stepper, which took aprox. 25 min.

Sorry this is such a negative entry, I'm feeling frustrated this past week. I will work on getting back on track, I really want to stay positive!! I had a nice evening yesturday with my family, I will update later. I have alot to do before going over to my mother-in-laws house for dinner. I'm not having any cake, I hope that doesn't affend anybody. I will check in later (hopefully I'll be in a better mood!)

I think I'm going to put some upbeat, perky dance/R&B music on while I clean my house and get some serious laundry done. Sometimes the music can lift my bad mood. My laundry is piling up (as usual) this is the never ending chore in my house!! I can't stand going out if my house isn't in order. I know this may sound kind of uptight but I really feel more at peace when my house is tidy and I love coming home to a nice clean house!! Off I go, at least my housework will burn off some calories:)

Thank-you once again for all the thoughtful Birthday Wishes, so nice!!

Progress as of today: 4.5 lbs lost so far, only 17 lbs to go!

Moody on 02/02/2007:
I know the frustration of gaining then wanting to eat..but DON'T! You will just feel worse afterwards and it's not worth it!! You are doing awesome with your exercising...I'm impressed!! Keep it up and you will see the number go down!!

Have a great day!

I love music and I love having a nice clean home. Careful not to push yourself into an injury that will require you to quit exercise all together while you heal. =)

WorkingIt2 on 02/02/2007:
Oh, and you might be up a pound because of all the additional exercise you are doing, your muscles will retain some water to help them heal. Which is another good reason to take a break.

missingsmokes on 02/02/2007:
Music is a sure fire way to feel better.....and don't forget winter blahs don't help...try to get out on a sunny day for some vitamin d....

Donkey on 02/02/2007:
Try not to let your frustration and discouragement drive you to eat! You will regret it beyond description, believe me. The key is consistency. Let your body know that you mean business! Who knows what that 1 lb could be from? Water retention from the exercise, probably, especially if your legs and butt hurt. That shows a build-up of lactic acid within the muscle, so keep drinking water today!

Happy Birthday!!!! Big Smile!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 02/03/2007:
you have been doing very well since you began here. we all need our rest days!

girliegirl6486 on 02/04/2007:
I can relate to the frustration you're feeling. I let myself indulge on just one meal and I feel like giving up the whole thing. It's important not to though!

Thanks for the helpful comments you left me the other day :) I appreciated it!

harleygirl79 on 02/04/2007:
Hang in there. It's only 1 lbs. a good day of cleaning always gets that off. Keep your chin up!!!

(Counting Calories & Exercise)
Weight: 126.0

So today is my Birthday (31 yrs old!) My big plans for today, none really. I'm hoping to make it to the gym today and with any luck I won't have to cook supper tonight! Tomorrow my mother in law will be cooking me dinner. This is a little scary because I'm not sure what she will make but she doesn't cook anything overly healthy or low in calories!! Oh well I'll have to take it easy with my calorie intake during the day to leave room for an abundance of calories!! For breakfast I had my usual quaker oats cereal with 1% milk.

Those 500 step ups I did on my stair stepper are taking their effect today. My butt and legs are getting quite soar. I'm going to go do some more stretches to make sure nothing gets to stiff as the day wears on!!

Rode my bike for 35 min this morning and burned 275 calories. I also did my 20 min pilates "ab" tape. I will be heading to the gym shortly to get some more cardio and my weights in. I'm hoping after that I can have dinner and relax a little this evening! I will update food/calories later.

Thank-you everybody for all the Happy Birthday's and encouragment, I really appreciate how positive everybody here is!!!

I just wanted to enter my calories and exercise for the day. Total calories for the day 1665, way to high again!! I only had a very small piece of chocolate cake (it was soooo good!) basically only a couple bites totalling about 115 calories. I had way to many snack attacks and to much "fatty" food. I am feeling frustrated with myself. I know its my birthday but still!!!!!

For exercise I went to the gym. I didn't stay as long as usual because I wanted to relax and enjoy the evening with my family. I did the eliptical trainer for 40 min burning another 460 calories and did the weight circuit for about 45 min. Water was good today. I don't feel like I did enough to keep the scale from moving up tomorrow.

I will update my b-day fun later!!

Progress as of today: 5.5 lbs lost so far, only 16 lbs to go!

Happy Birthday! That's a great plan to save up on calories so you can enjoy the meal! Hope you have a great day! :)

hollybelle on 02/01/2007:
Hi again. The Brown Sugar Splenda is a Brown Splenda/Brown Sugar Blend so be careful with the Diabetic in the family. It says this all over the label, but didn't want to take a chance. It has about 10 calories a teaspoon, I think. It is SUPER sweet so you don't need as much as you do of real/plain Brown Sugar, etc. It has been great in everything I have used it for. I like using the Splenda half and half with real granulated sugar in most things - even for baking. Good luck.

(Counting Calories & Exercise)
Weight: 126.0

For breakfast I had quaker oats cereal and 1% milk.

I'm not sure what I'll be doing for exercise today but it looks like I won't be able to make it to the gym today, so frustrating!! I tried to go and read diaries and make some overdue comments but as I'm sure a few of you know, I got booted out of the site and then I couldn't log back in!!

Will check in later, hope everybody has a great day!! Its very cold today, bring on spring!! I love to be outdoors but it is so bitter cold out there!!

The kids woke up at 6:00 am today (instead of 7:00am) so I was starving. I ate my breakfast earlier than usual and was hungry again by 10:30 am. I'm going to have a hard time keeping my calories down today because I have already eaten alot!! My calories are already at 945 and its only lunch time!

For exercise I rode my bike for 95 min, burning 740 calories. I'm getting really bored with the bike, I would really have liked to go to the gym today. I dug my stair stepper out of the storage area so I could switch things up. I did 500 step ups (alternating legs every 20) this took me just under 20 min. I was sweating really good and I felt great!! I have no idea how many calories that burned. I may feel that pretty good in my legs later. I also did my 20 min pilates "ab" tape.

As I expected, my calories are high again today. I didn't eat much that's to bad for me I'm just feeling super hungry!! I hope this is the onset of my menstrual cyle and not just me turning into a piggy! Total calories for today were 1835 and I don't plan to have anything else to eat tonight! I may try to ride my bike again after I get the kids to bed (while watching American Idol, its just to funny during the additions!) I will have to see if I have any energy left by that time.

Its my 31st B-day tomorrow, for some reason I'm feeling kind of bummed, I'm not sure why maybe just feeling sorry for myself! Last years birthday was so fun, this year is just going to be another day. Kirt will be working all day. We are going to his parents for dinner on Friday and I'm hoping to go out with Kirt on Saturday night, not sure what we will do yet. I'm hoping I can behave and keep my calories in a reasonable place. Is it rude to not eat your own birthday cake? I'm afraid to eat chocolate because I don't want to over indulge. I will have to allow for some extra calories but I would rather they go to a couple of drinks rather than cake!!

I have had only 6 glasses of water today but I will drink a couple more before the night is over so I don't get hungry again!!

So I did manage to ride my bike for another 25 min, burning 210 calories. That was enough cardio for the day! Hopefully I maintain my weight tomorrow!

Progress as of today: 5.5 lbs lost so far, only 16 lbs to go!

I am so ready for Spring. We're in single digits here today. You know it's bad when the weatherperson on the radio says to expect a high of 3 degrees (F).

I hear ya man. Im so sick of this deathly cold winter!! I miss the sunshine and its warmth!!

you are doing wonderfully with the different exercises you are incorporating into your day!

You are doing so well with your exercise! Congratulations to you!

I know what you mean about the chocolate....YUM!!!

Thanks for your comment!

(Counting Calories & Exercise)
Weight: 125.5

So I did end up riding my bike last night after I put the kids to bed. Kirt came home and wanted to know why I was riding the bike when I had already gone to the gym for over 2 hrs that morning. I told him its because I had a munchie attach and I was trying to counter the effect it would have on my wieght!! Okay, so I'm a little nuts but I was so annoyed that I went so far over my calorie limit when I've been mostly under control so far. Well this is week 3 and I guess it gets harder now! I do think I may have a bit of PMS making me crave junk food because my cycle is about every 3 wks and lately the entire week leading up to it I am "irritable" and "hungry"!!! I rode my bike for 80 min burning 630 calories. I know its a little obsessive but it worked, my weight went down 0.5 lbs instead of up! Now I just have to control myself for the rest of the week, YIKES!!

Anyway, I had a good breakfast and I will be leaving soon to take Craig to his swimming lesson and then to the library. I'm not sure if we will be going to lunch with Grandma today or not because I haven't talked to her yet. If we are I will be testing my will power again by going to McDonalds! I know they have some healthier food like sandwiches and salades, I'm not sure just how healthy or tasty they are though! I'm off to go throw a load of laundry in, clean up a little and get Craig and I ready to go. I will check in later!

I have been trying to read diaries but I haven't had to much time to be on the computer. I will try to get to diaries and comments tonight after I get my kiddies to bed. Kirt left for work this morning at 5:00 am and he has to go to one job during the day and then another this afternoon. He won't be home until 12:00 pm or so. I feel bad for him, he must be physically exhausted!! Hopefully all his hard work pays off in the end. We did anticipate he would have to work like crazy when he decided to open his own business!! Hopefully in time it gets better for him, at this rate he'll drop of exhaustion!!

For exercise today I rode my bike for 90 min (730 calories) and did 40 squats, 50 lundges (25/leg) and 90 kick backs (45/leg)

Water was good, I had 7 glasses. My total calories for today were 1574, a little higher than I would like but not to bad.

Progress as of today: 6 lbs lost so far, only 15.5 lbs to go!

WorkingIt2 on 01/30/2007:
Holy cow..that is a lot of exercise! Have a great day =)

(Counting Calories & Exercise)
Weight: 126.0

Yesturday my total calories were 1287 and my weight was 125.0. I didn't get home from work until 8:45 pm so I didn't get in a work out. I also only ate my dinner around 9:00 pm. I didn't get a chance to eat dinner at work. I only had salade because I didn't want anything to heavy on my stomach when I was eating that late but then I had a munchie attach and gave into a small bowl of chips. I must admit I didn't actually enjoy the chips that much, I'm not sure why a ate them!! I would love it if all of a sudden I didn't even like them anymore.

This morning Kirt is working in the afternoon so I am going to the gym right now while he is home with Craig (my son). I will check in later.

Went to the gym and did 45 min on the eliptical trainer (460 calories) and 30 min on the treadmill (150 calories) I did weight training for 40 min.

Snack: 1 serving of organic vegetable crackers with cheese.

Lunch: 1 salmon steak, salade and a glass of 1% milk.

I have had 6 glasses of water so far, I will likely have a couple more glasses before the night is through (although that will mean I will wake up a couple times tonight to use the bathroom!!)

I was doing so well with my calories, I had a total of 1473 wich would have been great, but guess what I ate chips again!!!!!!! I didn't eat alot but enough to pack on a few hundred extra calories that I didn't need. Oh and another glass of milk to wash them down. I'm such a boob!!! This gives me a grand total of 1864 calories for today and definetly not all healthy eating! I think I'm going to go ride my bike for another 60 min after I put the kids to bed just to counter act my damage! Does that make me obsessive with the exercise thing!! Oh well, I just don't want the scales to go UP tomorrow!!

I'm going to tell my hubby to stop buying chips all the time!! I don't think they need to be in my cubbards 7 days a week, clearly they are my biggest temptation! I think he should just buy them on week-ends as a treat or if not, hide them from me so I don't know they are here! Soooo frustrating, I was doing so well limiting my munchie attachs to some extent. Thats 2 munchie attacks in a row. Tomorrow I will do better.

Progress as of today: 5.5 lbs lost so far, only 16 lbs to go!

missingsmokes on 01/29/2007:
Wow, great work out!!! I bet you felt great and pooped all at the same time. :). I am excited to go tomorrow (Tuesday) and do some super weights. I have a great circuit for the next two weeks, my whole body gets worked out, head to toe, 12 reps of each (10 in total) without rest and then 45 minutes rest and then all 10 exercises again (12 reps each), I always alternate upper wtih lower as not to burn out my muscles, so they still kinda get a rest, in between each weight I do a burst of ex (jump squats, jump lunges, push ups, moutain climbers etc). Whole thing takes about 1/2 hr to 40 minutes but it is a great workout.....a trainer friend of mine gave me a few routines. You have done so well, losing 5.5 lbs already! You keep it up and you will be at your goal in no time :)

maria777 on 01/29/2007:
Oh, wow, do I know what you mean about the chips (see my entry)...I love them, too!!! And they are so high in cals and also in sodium!!!

But I think you are doing TERRIFIC with your exercise cause you are not allowing your eating extra calories to cause you to gain! Good for you!

moody on 01/29/2007:
What a great workout!! WTG!!

I can't have certain foods in the house or I will simply eat them!! Sounds like chips is your weakness and if I were you I would keep them out!!!! Easier said than done tho...

Keep up the great job!

missingsmokes on 01/29/2007:
Cheese is mine lol!!! Maybe you are pmsing, causing you to crave salty foods..:)
