Good morning, Girlies!

The good weather lasted one day... huh. I am so brain dead. I started to develop this stupid headache yesterday morning, and it still torments me. I hadn't made it to badminton as I was feeling so sh*tty after a whole evening spent with headache... it derived to nausea and general lack of energy. And today it continues. I went to tennis though - each time I hit the ball, the headache stroke in. ARGH, I took a pill as soon as I arrived to work and now I'm on low-profile, survival mode. If it doesn't get better, I go home after lunch.

On the food front, I can say yesterday was a good day and I foresee a good week with good behaviours. Has to be!

By the way, my idea of the healthy dessert is this: heat up 200 ml skimmed milk, pour 3-4 TBSP of whole semolina in it and mix until it gets thick. Put some stevia in it to obtain an additional sweet flavour. Serve with cinnamon/LF cocoa powder on top.

Today's menu:

06H00 - toast w/ a slice of ham and LF milk w/ 20% coffee drink (250 kcal)

09H30 - LF milk w/ coffee, an apple (100 kcal)

11H00 - a kiwi and a LF yogurt (100 kcal)

12H30 - rice w/ dal lamb curry leftovers (400 kcal), veggie soup and 2 small kiwis (200 kcal)

15H30 - an orange (50 kcal), LF milk w/ coffee (50 kcal)

16H00 - an apple,  LF yogurt (150 kcal)

20H00 - veggie soup (300 kcal), a kiwi, cooked veggies with cooked codfish (300 kcal)

22H00 - prunes (100 kcal)

Grand total: 1900 kcal

Progress as of today: 142.1 lbs lost so far, only 39.1 lbs to go!

Good morning, Girls!

I wish we all have a good week ahead :-)

If Saturday was bad, Sunday was the worst day of binging with sugary/fatty stuff. I resisted the sausages for lunch (ate only bread with lettuce, yuck...) but it took me to the edge and after some hours of calm badminton at the nearby park, I binged big time on sweets/desserts. I couldn't stop - again. I identified myself very well, my behaviour. And it didn't even taste good, because my body was having shivers and my face got numb as my blood sugar rose to mountain high... Well, let's forget it. I have a plan for next time (which will be Easter holidays with chocolates and stuff ). I'm going to make a healthy dessert and I won't even touch the others' stuff. Really. I swear. I could resist in the past, and I will resist in the future.

Had tennis and BodyBalance in the morning, the weather is super-beautiful, sunshine and nice temperature. Badminton tonight!

Today's menu:

06H00 - LF yogurt w/ cereals (150 kcal)

10H00 - LF milk w/ coffee, a tea (100 kcal)

12H30 - veggie soup, lamb & dal (lentils) curry leftovers and an apple (650 kcal)

16H00 - LF milk w/ coffee, a LF yogurt and an orange (150 kcal)

19H00 - toast and LF yogurt (150 kcal)

21H00 - veggie soup, a kiwi (350 kcal)

Grand total: 1600 kcal

Progress as of today: 145.2 lbs lost so far, only 36 lbs to go!

waydesmommy on 03/21/2011:
That sounds like a good plan to me! Have a great day!

I notice that when I have lots of sugar one day, the next day is twice as hard to say no. I guess I am not unique. But I know you must have good inner strength you can tap into if you have already lost 145lbs! Self-discipline is like a muscle. I hope you have a good week!

liza36 on 03/21/2011:
First, congratulations on dropping a few more pounds! That's wonderful. About the binge, it happens, and sometimes it's hard to predict when they will be triggered. As long as we learn from it - either a new strategy for handling it, or the reasons why - then just move on.

Have a great day with renewed energy!

Umpqua on 03/21/2011:
You are still losing, you're almost to the 170s!! I think you are doing great and you're recognizing triggers for the sweets and planning for it. You've got it under control!

Have a great Monday!

nemogirl on 03/21/2011:
I totally recognize that same behavior in myself. I think I just can't even make those foods anymore because I will eat them, and too much. It seems easier if I am at restaurants or out with people because I see those as dangerous eating environments already, but at home with cookies - it's too easy to sneak some batter here and there. I do love dessert, but I really want to meet my goal. If you can do it, so can I, right?

getmebackto150 on 03/21/2011:
your description of saturday and sunday sounds exactly the type of behavior I struggle with all of the time... It is SO SO frustrating... Good for you for making a plan for next time... Have a great week! Congrats on more weight gone!!!

biscottibody59 on 03/21/2011:
ryc: yeah 18 yrs old with 34 years experience:-)

Thanks for the greeting! I completely identify with you on the baking dilemma. I can make a batch of oatmeal date scones (full of butter) and eat them all day and just drink a cup of coffee. Haven't tried that for awhile, but they are just that good!

moogy on 03/21/2011:
I wonder if it was anxiety that triggered your sugar binge. It isn't like you to do that! Donna was wearing your top yesterday, she looks really nice in it. I hope that you get back on your healthy and happy eating and exercising programe. I like a happy Kathy!

lifestylechange on 03/21/2011:
Yes, Yes, I usually do at least 1 hour on the elliptical (about 800 cals). Sometimes I'm only able to do it for 45 minutes though due to time constrictions... I really enjoy the elliptical more than other cardio equipment, it really makes me sweat :) Have a great evening love!

Hi girlies, have a nice Sunday everyone!

I had a very strange, negative food day yesterday. My body was aching so I gave myself a break for the day, we only went to town to have lunch and walk a bit. Then my man had a photographic appt. with a store, he went there. While he was doing it, I made the shopping and delivered the stuff home. When I arrived home, I had my 1400 kcals eaten, more or less, for the day. But, then a huge binge started to appear and I couldn't stop it. I fixed myself a milk shake (LF milk w/ an apple and a pear and cinnamon), then, I ate a kiwi, two white buns with LF cheese cream. Then we went to town again, we shot some photos (see below) and when we arrived home I still had to make cookies for Sunday (Father's Day celebration at grandma's house). This was the point when all went berserk, because we ate a lot of the pastry (before baking!) and then we had a serious sampling issue eating up all the first dose that came from the oven. I don't know about calories but the recipe itself is: 0,5 pounds of butter (60% fat), 0,5 pounds of flour, 0,5 pounds of black sugar, 0,5 pounds of walnuts, 2 eggs all mixed up together. Just imagine! I think this was, so far, the best cookie I've ever made. But, my diet has been ruined for the day. I really have to fix this, I really have to identify what's wrong with me, why do I overeat almost everyday up to close 2000 kcals. I do lose weight but who knows until when if I don't behave? And I don't like to be in a moral war with myself constantly, because when I reach out for the extra, second helping, I know it's wrong and I know it's some kind of emotional thing, and even then I do. I really need self-control.

We are to go to the grandma's house today. Very stressful, eating and doing nothing day. But I'm going to take the badminton set and fight boredom! :-)

Here are the pictures, in order: walnut cookies, Downtown (Lisbon) restaurant, Restauradores square Lisbon, Castle with full moon (this was taken from the place (open garden) where we ate out the last two times, we call it: dinner of cheap grilled chicken... open-air, with a view, hehehe!)

Progress as of today: 145.2 lbs lost so far, only 36 lbs to go!

shadetree on 03/20/2011:
Beautiful pictures! Your moon shot is so much better than those I took last night (I was just getting the hang of my camera in the dark when I could hear some sort of larger animal in the bushes not far from where I was standing - I was concerned it was a skunk, so I decided to call it a night!) Sorry you had a bad day yesterday - I hope you are able to fight the boredom today!

V on 03/20/2011:
Wow you captured a perfect night!!! I love your pics....I am sure that you binge is a result of all of the added stresses of your health issues, your man's employment situation along with dealing with the death in his family...You can pull this binging back together Kat, just think of your goal(you are almost there, use that as motivation)There is nothing wrong with allowing yourself treats now and then and I know the baked goods are your achilles so I know you will resolve the matter of overindulging....Love you! Have an awesome day :)

loveray on 03/20/2011:
the cookies look amazing. i think there are a lot of underlying stressors in your life right now - and those of us who have used food in the past sometimes have a return to that behavior in very stressful times. try to give yourself a break for having a bad day yesterday and maybe think about all that's been going on. could it be TOMs fault too?? wishing you a happy and healthy day today. xoxo

chidogs on 03/20/2011:
I agree with the above opinions. You have a lot of stress going on now. Your energy and strength are overworked dealing with the stress so you don't have as much power to pour into the food resistance war. That is what happens to me. I'm worn out by other things so when I face the food, I am already weak, so I eat too much. Hang on, you will get past this. Hugs.

nemogirl on 03/20/2011:
You work out a lot. 2000 is probably really close to what you'll need even as you reach your goal. I would guess 1800 is the lowest you could go with that amount of activity. That being said, the binge? I think it's nearly impossible to bake delicious treats while on a serious diet (like you and I have embarked upon - long term commitment, food diaries, exercise, the mental concentration it takes) without totally pigging out when cooking treats. You are human, and you ate dessert. Move on to the next day like nothing happened. Also, just try not to bake too much - my daughter's b day cake baking activities really put me on hold, too!

Good morning, girlies!

What a beautiful, sunny day here in Lisbon . And I'm at work. Damn. Hehehe... Well, I had my tennis (individual) in the morning, it was wonderful but I got so tired I couldn't make it to BodyBalance. I felt really tired, and I asked myself: "Would it be for pleasure or moral obligation?" And my body responded: "Pleasure would be a hot shower and some rest, letup...". So my mind and conscience responded "OK, let's do it." By the way, yesterday night my body wanted proteins. My dinner was: a natural tuna tin with beans and Low Fat cheese cream. Then, a milk shake (skimmed milk with a pear and an apple, blended together)! A real boost, and even then I'm so tired today...

Later in the evening I have an european football game with colleagues. I'm rather afraid of it because football is something really complicated and dangerous when played by amateurs. And we are definitely amateurs. Even the pro guys are always down with knee problems, etc... as it can be read in the newspapers. From 7 pm to 8h30 we have the game, then I'd like to go to badminton still, if possible. I don't know if it is because the football field is in an unknown zone and I don't know about public transports from there... I'm going to figure it out during the day.

I didn't go to the funeral yesterday. I think it resulted in stress between me and my man, he understood this as a selfish act from me. Well, thing is, I am selfish. The great grandma is dead, it's something very ... irreversible! Now, I had this appt. with a Pilates specialist at the gym, the dude is there only on Thursdays between midday and 2 pm, it was difficult to arrange the appt., I had been working for it for months! So, I am still alive here, and I'd like to get better. It didn't look like I'd cancel and re-schedule for what, June maybe, because of a funeral of an unknown person, even if she was family. Dang, I am really being selfish, but one has only one life to live it well!!!

He took two days off, death in family leave. Now I invited him to lunch to a nearby restaurant. Wonder if he comes, he hasn't responded me yet.

Update: everything's fine! He declined my invitation because of his mother (they had lunch at home), it was completely acceptable for me! We agreed to lunch together tomorrow, instead. Great! :-)

Unfortunately we'll have a family gathering on Sunday all day - the usual eating and doing nothing else day. I'm going to take my badminton kit, just in case... Too bad, I wanted to go to Sintra so badly... the sky is blue, the sun is shining... and the weather prediction for the next 5 days shows me this, doesn't it look wonderful:

Today's menu:

06H00 - soy yogurt w/ some cereals (150 kcal)

09H00 - LF milk w/ coffee, a LF yogurt (150 kcal)

11H30 - a tangerine (50 kcal)

12H00 - two whole grain buns w/ sardines in tomato, a veggie soup, a LF yogurt and LF milk w/ coffee, kiwi and a small pear (800 kcal)

16H00 - an orange, a banana, LF yogurt (200 kcal)

17H00 - LF milk w/ coffee (50 kcal)

21H30 - veggie soup (200 kcal)

Grand total: 1600 kcal

Progress as of today: 142.1 lbs lost so far, only 39.1 lbs to go!

V on 03/18/2011:
I totally understand how you feel and funerals are really tough for some people to handle,it would be different if you actually knew her...I guess that would make me selfish too..I hope he will be able to understand your decision, that was a pretty tough one to make but why should you be forced to cancel plans that were made months ago...Love you Kat :)

liza36 on 03/18/2011:
Have a good weekend, and be careful with the football game. You're strong though, so you can handle it!

I'm sorry to hear about the stress your decision made not to go to the funeral. I agree with V - it's a tough situation. Hopefully he will understand.

Oh, I just love reading your blog. You are very interesting and look at how determined and motivated you are... even death didn't stop you. I know that sounds corny. Anyway, I am actually proud of you for putting your self first. I could take lessons....I know I would have canceled and rescheduled and been upset about it. But you chose to put yourself first. Good for you! And I didn't mean to sound cold about the funeral, I am sorry for his loss. On some level, he must understand you don't want to stop considering all the progress you have made. :)

Hello, girlios!!!

How are you? I'm fine, had a wonderful day off. I started with a tennis training (individual!) in the morning (7 am), then 1 hour Pilates, then 40 min swimming (yeeee), then 2 hours of gym... I received my new training, it's very hard, but challenging! I got hooked on music and started singing on the elliptical... me and these machines are friends when it comes to good music. LOL... people were looking at me, during 25 minutes on level 6, mute-singing, head shaking and all sweaty... hahah I'm crazy. Then I felt accomplished for the morning.

In the afternoon came my 5 EUR tennis partner (those who didn't read yesterday's entry: I found a site a few days ago where one can offer services for 5 or more euros. I advertised myself as a tennis (and other sports) player willing to pay for 5 eur/hour). So, the story: I arrived a bit late, but no harm done. I was beaten to death... my auto-confidence got soooo low, just like yesterday at badminton when I lost 20 to 1.... LOL... ok, at least not ZERO... but here, I lost to ZERO and he turned out to be a pro. Pro, and JOURNALIST. So... he will write about me, as he will write about the site. I sent a text message to my coach saying that we needed to clean my name now, as no one will want to play with me if I come out in the newspapers as a lousy player... HAHAHAH....

By the way I was telling him about my bureaucraziest adventures here in Portugal... For example, you know, my name is Katalin. Well, in Portugal, most women's names have an "A" at the end, like Lisa, Teresa, Laura, Luisa, etc... So, the fact that mine doesn't, is the origin of my problems when it comes to genders. I have lots of emails and official letters addressed to me as "Dear Sir Katalin", but my favorite was when they attributed me the Social Security number. It was an automatic process - I applied for the IRS number (because the only certain things in life are death and taxes) and I started to work. My workplace sent my records to the Social Security, and they automatically attributed my gender as MALE. Cool. I went there, because people started to say, after the first laughs, that it might cause me trouble when sick, at the hospitals, etc. So they said to me, I would need to pay 5 euros as a fine (for something I didn't do!) and I had to take a Certification from the Doctor that I'm a female... Well, this sounds funny but then it's ridiculous, isn't it?! I heard stories about people declared dead by error and they needed a certicate, too... Hello, what's wrong with this 21st century?????? People are getting dumb and full of mistrust or things are getting complicated? LOL...

Food: was OK, didn't really care for the calories today but 100% healthy!

Progress as of today: 142.1 lbs lost so far, only 39.1 lbs to go!

lifestylechange on 03/17/2011:

Umpqua on 03/17/2011:
You are going to make an awesome subject for the badminton article! I can't believe the troubles you are dealing with because of your name. I was just reading a comic about how the non-English languages attribute a sex to everything including inanimate objects. It's a little raunchy but funny, here is the link: http://www.qwantz.com/index.php?comic=1915

shadetree on 03/17/2011:
My husband's name is Jan....he gets the gender issues all the time. but it's always safe to assume that if when I answer the phone and they think they are speaking to Jan, it's probably not someone I need to be talking to! (But the fact that YOU had to pay because SSA designated you as male is absolutely crazy!)

100% healthy is good - you had a lot of activity to burn some of it off! (I like to sing when I'm working out too - sometimes I even half-dance, which must look really bizarre!)

chidogs on 03/17/2011:

Hi girls!

The exams results will be officially given to me on the 30th this month. But what I got to know (I shared on Facebook yesterday night) is that I am showing signs of initial epylepsy. This was declared because when the Dr. poured cold water into my left ear to disable it and check the other one, my right arm got suddenly cold and numb. Now this happens to me each time I play badminton but the coach told me it was normal so I haven't been thinking about it since then. The Dr. said it could be normal, but the thing is, it's definitely NOT NORMAL during the exam. So, now I should see a neurologist and do a tac scan of the head, etc. ka-ching, how disgusting! I decided going alternative instead. There's this doctor who can tell what the patient has by looking into his/her eyes. My MIL got so much better there, it made me thinking and I decided giving it a try before diving into the private hospital's neverending exams and scans, etc. I think this is exagerated big time just to extort more and more money from people. And they always make it look like a favor. On the other hand (or I should say "on the other end"), the National Social Security's doctors always say we are all right, they don't send us anywhere because it's the state's money at stake (which, at the end, is taxpayer money, and I pay taxes so it's my money paid to them, but we all know how's with the state and other big state-close companies (such as  gas, electricity, etc.) don't like to pay back and forward)... It's not right.

Talking about positive: I took the day off tomorrow! I took it because I want to have a ZEN day. I'm going to have tennis in the morning, and then I'm going to stay in the sports complex. I am going to attend the Pilates or Yoga class (haven't decided yet!), then go to the pool. At midday I have an appointment with a personal trainer to schedule my next training period introducing Pilates. He's a certified Pilates trainer, available only on Thursdays between midday and 2 PM - he is the main reason I took the day off. YAY... Then I go home and will have a calm afternoon reading a book or watching TV, most probably with the cats all over me...

OK, the "CALM AFTERNOON" has been cancelled!  I found a website the other day which looks like Twitter and asks its registered users: "What are you willing do for 5 euros?". I took the challenge and put: I'd play tennis for 5 euros/hour. So, today I received an e-mail: "OK, I'm in, wanna play tomorrow?". And we set it for 5 PM. So, this will be my first, modest wage as a tennis player, HAHAHAHA... Next stop is SKY!!!

I had tennis today (individual, OH YEEEEE) and BodyBalance. Going to go to badminton tonight!

Today's menu:

06H00 - two slices of rye bread w/ LF cheese cream and a half cup of LF chocolate soy milk (400 kcal)

10H00 - LF milk w/ coffee (100 kcal)

12H00 - a tangerine (50 kcal)

12H30 - pasta w/ vegetables (spinach and eggplant), LF milk w/ coffee and an apple (500 kcal)

14H00 - carrot soup and a LF yogurt (250 kcal)

16H00 - two LF yogurts, an apple and some slices of toast bread (300 kcal)

Grand total: 1600 kcal

Update at 5 PM: My man's great-grandma died today at the age of 103. Now she's in Heaven. Must have been a relief for her soul, flying free from the weight of having been trapped in a useless body for years.

Progress as of today: 142.1 lbs lost so far, only 39.1 lbs to go!

Umpqua on 03/16/2011:
Good for exploring all your options, and I hope you find some resolution to your problems. Have a great badminton class!

liza36 on 03/16/2011:
You are such a trooper for carrying on despite the physical ailments. It's good to seek out alternatives, so good for you.

You must really appreciate the pictures of you now compared to before. Thanks for sharing them with us. Yesterday I saw a picture of myself, and I hardly recognize me. That's a sure sign I have to be serious about this weight loss. I'll just use you as inspiration!

getmebackto150 on 03/16/2011:
sounds like you are going through a lot right now, but you have a great attitude... I'm thinking of you and you definitely deserve a day off tomorrow!

Hi Kathy, you do what you feel is right to take care of yourself. Sounds like you have thought about it well. Enjoy that zen day, it sounds wonderful. I'm sorry about your Man's great grandma. But what a long life. And yes, now she is free and happy! That is a wonderful way to see it. You take care and hugs.

chidogs on 03/16/2011:
Hi again. Yes, I love table tennis, and used to play a lot and I was quite good. My hubs and I would have tournaments when we were on vacation! Now it is just a movement issue, as I am about 120 pounds higher than I was in those lovely days. :(

lifestylechange on 03/16/2011:
You are amazing, you are strong, strong, strong!!! :)

chidogs on 03/16/2011:
Could you like share some energy with me? Where do you get it from? You just go! :)

moogy on 03/16/2011:
You are so funny! I think only you would manage to find a cheap way to play sport. Good for you. So, what is happening about your blackouts? Are you going to have an MRI or something else? You see my interest being in a similar boat to you!!

Hackersdiet on 03/16/2011:
You are doing great! I just joined today and you are very inspirational. Look at your progress! WOW. You must feel wonderful! I love your monthly averages....just sliding down down down. Your working hard and it shows!

Good morning, Girlies !

I had an excellent badminton night yesterday! Uauuuuu... I got home, ate a kiwi and a tangerine and ZzZzZZZzZ... like a baby. (OK, I would have, IF wouldn't have CATS because all three sleep or between my legs or on my hips which is not too comfortable after a while!!!)

I talked to Master Yoda, too and he said he wouldn't have any problems giving me a lift home each time I go, so I'm in ZEN again... Yesterday was so much fun because I was the only rookie around and I had to play with pro's. I've got terribly "beaten up" by them, hehehe... I managed to win some points (miserable!!! LOL) and actually I won a game in pairs (with the coach itself, LOL). Weeeee are the champions, my frieeeeeeend, and we'll keep on fighting til the eeeeeeeeend.... Life is short, huh?!

Today was a great, shiny sunny morning and tennis was really perfect - as I'd convinced myself to wake up, it was so hard. It's always hard after badminton nights.

I'm going to have analysis today, because of the blackouts. I haven't been having the synthoms but it worth investigating, as it can return anytime. After these exams I plan to return to have a Body Pump training at 7 PM at the univ.

My friend sent me this photo from two years ago, when we went to the market and then had a picnic at the nearby hospital garden. I recognize the difference between 2-years-ago-myself and today's Kat... :-)

Today's menu:

06H15 - two slices of toasted rye bread, LF chocolate soy milk (350 kcal)

10H00 - LF milk w/ coffee, a yogurt (150 kcal)

12H15 - tuna natural w/ cooked chickpeas and broccoli (400 kcal), a LF yogurt w/ fruit (150 kcal)

17H30 - an orange (100 kcal)

20H00 - a milk shake w/ fruit (150 kcal)

Grand total: 1400 kcal

Progress as of today: 142.1 lbs lost so far, only 39.1 lbs to go!

V on 03/15/2011:
I am hoping that your Dr.'s visit will help you resolve :) You always have great pics!! Amazing transformation Kat!! Continue with the awesome job :)

V on 03/15/2011:
LOL!!! Your mom is naughty!!! LOL !!

selina on 03/15/2011:
That's a pretty amazing tranformation!!!! Good luck at the doctors, Kat!

I know exactly what you mean about sleeping with the cats: I have two that love sleeping with me. They also like walking on top of me, along my body while I sleep. I like them to be so loving but after a while it does get annoying....

geevee on 03/15/2011:

Major difference in the way you look. And that loaf of bread on the picnic table looks yummy :P

nemogirl on 03/15/2011:
You are so much thinner now. I plan to post some before and after when I get to my after photos (soon hopefully!) Incidental to your size in the photo though, you look like you are having a very nice time with your friends. It must have been a fun day, a good memory. And, now you can enjoy the photo of it, too!~

sweetpea1977 on 03/15/2011:
Wow, what a difference!!!! Do you happen to remember your weight from those pics? Just curious!

Im keeping you in my thoughts regarding your blackout situation. xo

chidogs on 03/15/2011:
I'm glad you are seeing the doctor to get that resolved if you can. No sense just wondering when the next one will hit you! Oh, we got table tennis paddles and balls over the weekend as our condo clubhouse at the beach has a table! It isn't badminton...but I'm working up to it! :) I saw the badminton rackets and birdies, and almost got a set, but then I can't play yet, so better wait. Take care and hugs.

moogy on 03/15/2011:
It doesn't really look like you anymore Kat. I am loving your positive attitude and outlook on life. You give me inspiration!!:)

waydesmommy on 03/16/2011:
Wow...there is deffinatly a diff in the pics above and the new ones of you. You have done a terrific job getting healthy and fit. So you got to play with the pros...that is really cool that you got a taste of it...even if they did "beat you up". But hey you got some points and that's awesome! Take care and have a great day!

Those photos are stunning and you look great! I would love to join you in New Zealand, I've wanted to go there since watching Lord of the Rings ;) Have a good one!

sweetpea1977 on 03/14/2011:
Sleeping is going ok...much better than I had expected. Mason usually wakes every 3-4 hours for feedings, so we are only up 2 or 3 times per night. Hubby and I take turns tending to him, which is nice since it feels like we aren't losing that much sleep. :)

He is a very sweet and calm boy. The only time he is upset is when he is hungry, needs to be burped, or needs a diaper change. Ethan was a little fussy, but not to the point of being diagnosed with colic (like his cousin Justin).

geevee on 03/14/2011:
New Zealand is at the top of my list of best places on Earth. It is such a nice, quiet, clean country. Well-ordered, beautiful. On and on I could go.Put it on you Must Go TO list.

Hand on heart I promise you, no one is lying. You look happy and healthy. If you want to travel now is a good time. Plus the New Zealand dollar is really low even Australian's get lots of extra money when we go over and exchange dollars. Have a great day Kathy:)

biscottibody59 on 03/14/2011:
Seriously. The only thing I'd say is you probably would thrive on being single right now. Be single, live a single life for a few years--get to know yourself. Enjoy your friends and looking after you and YOUR career--further yourself. You seem optimistic and positive and on the verge of blasting off. And well you should, you're nearly at your goal.

Don't let guilt over your BF's lack of confidence in his job keep you from moving forward for yourself. You're not married and you share no children. He will take care of himself--he took care of himself before you came along--don't forget that. Sometimes we take on these things as little projects--don't do that. Make YOURSELF your project just as you have your weight loss.

Hope that all makes sense and doesn't sound too harsh!

Sooo... Sunday, Funday, excursion (picnic) day! We had luck, caught no rain (only while driving..)

We've been to the bio market at Caldas da Rainha (no pics made, stuuupid me...), then we went to Foz do Arelho (beach town), Salir do Porto (other beach town) where we had a nice and filling picnic from the stuff we bought at the bio market. The first photo is from Foz do Arelho, the other three were taken near Salir do Porto.

Anyway, there is an other town called São Martinho do Porto, (check the third image, it has a wooden ramp which goes all the way to this other town) also known as "A Concha" (The Seashell) because the shape from the air designs a seashell. I got a nice photo from the net (5th image) for you to get the general idea! :-)

Also, the first image is from Foz do Arelho, a beach town from where the Berlengas islands can be seen. It costs one hour of hallucinating boat trip (first thing the boat crew does is giving away vomiting bags, lol) to get there, it's a natural reserve. I believe I've posted photos of it already - I've been there, oh yeah. Just to remember you, I posted a sixth and a seventh photo of it from my archives! :-) Also, I've found a photo of Caldas da Rainha's bio market (2007) in the archives.. the last photo! :-)

Progress as of today: 142.1 lbs lost so far, only 39.1 lbs to go!

Beatiful photos Kathy, I just can't get over the change in you. It is like you have not only changed the outside of your body but that you have become a different person from the inside out. You are radiating health and happiness!!

shadetree on 03/13/2011:
You are so sweet! Thanks for the links! I ordered the books before I saw your post - I do better with hard copy anyway (and this way I can get my husband on board as well!) I'm sure they will help, even if it just makes me address some of that old emotional baggage I've lugging around for years! Thanks again!!!
