Weight: 187.3

Good Morning, Girlios!

Great, SUNNY day today - and I'm ... working. Home, closed.

I updated my weight back because today it seemed 85 kgs again, and I don't know what to think. 4 lbs is a big difference between two days, although I'm fully dressed up (yesterday I weighed in in a single t-shirt) and after breakfast & lax tea. Wow man, the lax tea is powerful. :-)

Today's menu:

10H00 - LF yogurt + 5 prunes + a pear + lax tea (250 kcal)

12H00 - LF milk w/ coffee (50 kcal)

13H00 - 2 slices of lean chicken meat, cooked chicken legs (oh my, I love cooked chicken legs!), vegetables and salad, a LF dessert yogurt (800 kcal)

16H00 - MF milk w/ coffee (100 kcal)

17H00 - LF yogurt & a pear (120 kcal)

21H00 - whole durum wheat meal (aka. semolina) w/ LF cocoa powder (350 kcal) + veggie soup (200 kcal) + a kiwi (40 kcal)

Grand total: 1800 kcal

I tried a diet sweet recipe of mine today:

Whole durum wheat chocolate/cinnamon flavor dessert  (recipe for 1 person):

40 gr (1,4 oz) semolina (whole durum wheat meal)
250 ml (1 cup _US) of skimmed milk,
stevia powder (or 2 tbsp of black sugar)
LF cocoa powder or cinnamon

I heat up the milk alone, then I put the semolina in it, stirring constantly. Then when it gets thick, I add the stevia. I put the whole thing on a plate, and powder some LF cocoa powder on top. Also great with cinnamon! :) A picture below! This dose gives me a rough 300 kcals (w/ stevia and cocoa powder AND cinnamon), and a great whole meal which can serve as dessert! :)

Progress as of today: 138.9 lbs lost so far, only 42.3 lbs to go!

I am glad you got a bit of relief!!! Love you I will be back later ;)

nemogirl on 02/20/2011:
I know! My scale did the same thing. You would laugh at how I weigh myself, when I'm allowed the space to do it by the kids. I try not to have any water and go to the bathroom. I actually do jumping jacks to make sure I didn't need to... how to say this? .... go any more. Then I strip down to skivvies. Next, I stand in several different spots on the scale, trying to get into the exact same spot at the previous day. After that I go to an old scale I keep around and weigh on it too, just for comparison, 1 is digital 1 is analog. LOL.

chidogs on 02/20/2011:
Ah yes, the scale balancing act. I know it well. :) Mine has behaved lately. I'm glad you are feeling back to normal now! I am also glad you have the sun back. Since I grew up in a desert,(we were lucky if we got a week of rain in a year, and that was a day here a day there) I actually love rainy days. Take care!

nemogirl on 02/20/2011:
Hey Kathy: Cut a sphagetti squash in half lengthwise, scoop out seeds. Lay flat side down on foil lined baking sheet at 375 for about 40 min. Take it out, scoop out flesh and put into bowl, add sauce and cheese. Don't forget to measure out sauce and cheese. I think cheese goes a long way to making this taste good. Also, don't use a sweet sauce, make sure its a decent spaghetti sauce. I would make my own with canned tomatoes, but I've gone BPA free for the babes, so I just use jars now.

chidogs on 02/20/2011:
LOL, that was a funny picture, Kathy! Too much broccoli does that to me! I plan on trying many variations of that soup. There are so many different ways to make it once you have the basic down. Beans sound excellent, adding some non meat protein. Yay.

The clothes will have been almost a kilo Kathy, the rest could have been water. I am sure you will find you have lost that extra in a couple of days. You are right 4 pounds in two day is unnatural unless you were on a binge, which is no longer something you do!! I love semolina and sago desserts, but can't stop at a single serve, they remind me of my English childhood. Have a good week Kathy, sorry you have to work today, I hope you get another day off to replace this working day!

Weight: 184.5

WOW, the scale showed me 184,5 lbs today. AMAZING, isn't it? I got rid of my costipation with teas and dark veggies as you said, LOL. Also, I bought a lax tea today, will use, in case it appears again...

I had an amazing badminton training yesterday. I trained with the Chinese boy (now Chinese are REALLY good in badminton and table tennis... for some reason you don't see them on the top100 at tennis - OK , I know why, they are too small for that) and I got exhausted. But then, I came home and first thing I did was putting my floor mat on the floor and did some stretching exercises! It resulted because I haven't had any problems at night, not a bit of headache. I was just too tired to wake up in the morning to arrive in time to my Pilates class, DANG! Then, I opted for the pool, and swam an hour (VERY EXHAUSTING!!!), then a PowerDeep class (aquafitness level 4)... I wanted to stay for BodyBalance at 12h30 but I couldn't, as man and his friends wanted my company at the sushi/chinese buffet restaurant. I had lots of food because of the exhausting swimming. I think swimming is the most difficult for me, of all sports... One can see the most beautiful men and women at the pool, their perfect bodies, etc... it's really motivating, I admit. Then I walked a lot, like an hour with a Hungarian friend who came visiting. Thank God it stopped raining meanwhile, but the sky is dark and grey, it can start again in any moment. I got all wet today morning before and after the pool...

I won't write down my menu today, I don't know the calories. I ate a lot for lunch and probably I will only eat an orange later before going to bed.

Have a nice weekend to all, my favorite girlios!

Progress as of today: 141.7 lbs lost so far, only 39.5 lbs to go!

chidogs on 02/19/2011:
Wow, you swam for an hour! That is awesome. I'm good for about 10 minutes. :). Sounds like you were extremely active so whatever you ate got burned up. Have a great day.

Umpqua on 02/19/2011:
Dude, you are doing SO AWESOME!! :-) I can't believe how close to goal you are, you are just zooming along. Congrats!

Weight: 187.5

Hello, lovely ladies!

Friday it is! :-) I'm getting better and better by the minute.

First of all, thank you so much for your advices. I assure you I'm having enough liquids - water and tea without sugars... More than 2 litres per day, actually.

Yesterday my day ended badly. Man called me to meet him at the city centre to eat out at night, because he had some calendars to deliver for his friend who works there. We went to the mall, and I went to grab some healthy food. I found Joshua's Kebab or what, stating that their vegetarian plate 100% light (whatever it means.. I have never seen such thing, percentage of lightness...), 6 whole grain balls in pita shoarma and some sauce, apart. Stated 80 kcals a dose. I went for it, and I regretted. Those damned balls were DEEP-FRIED, so I just couldn't eat the stuff, I put it away after the first few bites. Went all stressed, Man couldn't understand me so we had some fight over it (he cannot admit leaving food on the plate). I just don't believe these restaurants anymore. I hate to eat out... Then, man tempted me with ice cream and I didn't go for it either. He got two balls and then tried me to taste it. I went madder and madder, because ice-cream is my big temptation, and my head was all aching, fuzzy and confused. I haven't been to the gym, I had to keep the calorie limits... if not, I'd feel awfully guilty. I hope I'm not developping any mental disease on this subject... I was also thinking constantly about my high cholesterol (I read ice-creams does have cholesterol, especially creamy ones)... ohhhh dang... So, we got home and I ate 4 kiwis, 2 yogurts and 1 orange, because of this stress... Around 300 kcals plus.

Today is different. Lost (?) the bus, or it never came but I could make it to the pool in time to have a fantastic HidroCycle class! YAYYYY... then, BodyBalance came, we were TWO (!!!) with the prof... Amazing. I love this gym.

Do you want to know a very funny thing? I could have had tennis today... but I opted for HidroCycle instead... Well, it's mainly because of the headache thing. It finally passed, but I'm very, EXTREMELY worried about it, because it may be a signal of troubles with my spine. Especially because my neck became awkward, heavy and only massaging it would take away the pain. It can be because of the badminton trainings. I made, sort of, a deal with myself: I REALLY HAVE TO do stretching after these badminton trainings, or I have to give it up... I don't want to get paralized, and you know, I become very tired after these trainings... we finish at 10h30 pm, then I get home around 11 pm, and I fall in a very profound sleep - which doesn't allow me to be conscient about my posture and position during the night. I've been practicing "sleeping in the right position" to keep my spine in a neutral position (sleeping in fetal position or on the back), but when I'm that extremely tired, I just cannot control it well. My man said to try sleeping without the pillow... I am experimenting this at the moment. It doesn't really taste good to wake up with a stupid headache and soar neck...

Today's menu:

06H20 - soy yogurt w/ Nestlé Fitness cereals (300 kcal)

10H00 - LF milk w/ coffee (100 kcal)

12H30 - creme de marisco (seafood soup) (300 kcal), sweet potato pasta w/ cooked broccoli (250 kcal), asparagus cream (200 kcal) and a pear (50 kcal)

17H00 - LF milk w/ coffee (100 kcal) and an apple (50 kcal)

19H00 - a LF yogurt (50 kcal)

Grand total: 1100 kcal

Progress as of today: 138.7 lbs lost so far, only 42.5 lbs to go!

Oh my Kat!! Sounds like a very intense experience.I am hoping that your man is not getting a little intimidated by your amazing transformation, and if you don't want to eat certain items then you shouldn't have to! I hope this resolve without more conflict...Have a wonderful weekend :)

selina on 02/18/2011:
Lol, Kathy, you are not "developing a mental disease". IMO, you just reacted that way because of all the trouble you had a few days ago when you ate fried foods.

Maybe some yoga would help you with the strecthing of the vertebral column... just a thought.

selina on 02/18/2011:
So you missed the bus again... those buses in Lisbon are not very reliable, huh?

waydesmommy on 02/18/2011:
Sorry to hear about your head ache and I hope you really get to rest well. Usually when you write about your man, he's very supporting of you. I think he has come to the realization that you have really done what you set out to do. Even if he hasn't said it...which he better or I'll email him a punch in the face lol...you have gotten more and more beautiful so he's realizing he may have competition from other men. He is a man and he knows what men do/try when they see an attractive woman as compared to an big woman. I think he may be scared of that...which is common. That is probably the reason for him tempting you and acting a fool. I'm sure he knows that you love him a lot, but he may need to be reasured now. How to reasure him...hummm...lets see...I don't know if he's the talk to and share feelings with kind of guy...but you could try just sitting down and talking to him about it. Or maybe get some new sexy launderie...how ever you spell that...JUST FOR HIM...lol. Not that it would be for anyone else...but you get what I'm saying. It's very typical for a man who has been with a big woman to begin to get jelous and a lil fuzzy minded once the woman becomes more attractive. I don't think you are developing a mental disease. You made a LIFE CHANGE. And that means for the rest of your life. You are doing what you have retrained your mind and body to do. Eat only good things for you and avoid the bad stuff. Also you did just have an upset tummy a few days ago from fried food. I think you have done great and are still doing great. Your man will adjust once he finds comfort in knowing that your not going any where but into his arms. Oh...and maybe when you are out with him tell him that he's better than or better looking than some other guy or something if it's a possible scenario. Have a great day and a wonderful weekend.

loveray on 02/18/2011:
i hope you are doing okay lady! xo

chidogs on 02/18/2011:
I am sending you hugs. Talk to your man. You are perfectly normal in getting concerned over not backsliding. I just hope you start feeling better soon! Take care. I am still enjoying the veggie soup. :)

sweet girl on 02/18/2011:
Positive thoughts coming your way!!! You are doing amazingly well and maybe for that reason your man feels intimidated. Way to stay focused!

moogy on 02/18/2011:
I am sorry that you are struggling with your neck and back, sounds like some yoga might be the perfect thing to get you realigned and stretched out. Not something to add to your list of exercised something to take the place of one of your exercises otherwise you will never get home for a sleep!!LOL Hope you are feeling better.

chidogs on 02/18/2011:
Adding a peeled tomato sounds awesome good! I will try that next time. And I copied out the celery soup recipe. That sounds very excellent too. Take care!

nita51 on 02/19/2011:
Oh my! What a trying day you had. I sure hope things get better. I wake up with a headache almost dailey, I hope you get to the bottom of this, and not allow it to linger as I have. Your man and the food issue, sounds a lot like my story many years ago. The only difference is, you are wise enough to stand your grounds. I on the other hand failed, many times, just to please my man. There is nothing wrong with you! Your priorities are definitely in the right order. Wish I'd been wiser. Stay strong sis. Love you

Well well, by the end of the badminton training (which went extremely well, lol) a headache started to develop and it stubbornly stayed for the night and the morning as well. I don't know about your experience but my organism doesn't do anything useful with a headache. It's so dull. So I opted for staying in the bed instead of going to pool. It's a shame but I need some rest. Tomorrow is HidroCycle + BodyBalance + Badminton day, and I have my body aching everywhere because of yesterday's Body Balance + Badminton combo...

Today I'm going to lay low and enjoy the tide. AHHH anyone has any idea how to try and get the stuff out of my body? I mean, I haven't been to the WC for 3 days... must be the rice because I'm having all sorts of fruits and veggies so... what's happening??

Today's menu:

08H30 - dodoni (greek yogurt) 2% Fat, 200 gr + Nestlé fitness cereals (300 kcal)

10H00 - LF milk w/ coffee (50 kcal)

12H30 - veggie soup (200 kcal) + grilled fish (300 kcal) + a peach and a skimmed milk coffee (100 kcal)

17H00 - an apple (50 kcal) (Note: still having the stupid headache... I took 2 painkillers but it's very stubborn... could make it to the WC though... with lots of tea! )

Grand total: 1000 kcal

French exam resulted: 17,8 points out of 20.

Progress as of today: 138.7 lbs lost so far, only 42.5 lbs to go!

selina on 02/17/2011:
Très bon travail! Je savais que vous alliez à bien faire!

You did very well by listening to your body and getting some rest. I hope your headache goes away soon and you get back to your fun activities tomorrow. As for the the BMs, I noticed that flax is helping me a lot, recently. I also have trouble with rice, so I try to stay away from it although it's my favorite carb. So sorry you are suffering...

V on 02/17/2011:
You can also try some dark leafy veggies too! There are herbal teas that are can help you with your issues as well, they usually work overnight and are gentle...Good luck Kat :)

liza36 on 02/17/2011:
Good thing you are resting. You are on the go,go,go all the time, so it's good to listen to your body and get the rest you need. Hope your other issues resolve - that can be miserable!

chidogs on 02/17/2011:
Hey so sorry you have that headache and don't feel well. I make sure to eat a lot of fibre, like bran, oatmeal (porridge?), every other day and it seems to help. I am glad you are taking time for yourself. Hugs.

selina on 02/17/2011:
Yoga: yes, they do a wonderful relaxation at the end, I could easily fall asleep, ha!

geevee on 02/17/2011:
One cup of herbal slimming tea will do the trick and solve your problem overnight.

thisisit on 02/17/2011:
Great idea to let youself rest. Sometimes its necessary to do so. I have a question, what kind of program are you on exactly? You seem to lose weight so well, pulling amazing numbers each month.

nemogirl on 02/17/2011:
Things that help me with digestion when I'm constipated: caffienated coffee, dried fruit, steamed kale, prunes. In fact, I avoid prunes because they have such a strong laxative effect.

Good job on the exercise and resting!

newme24 on 02/17/2011:
I'm sorry to hear you aren't feeling well, it's good that you stayed in bed sometimes you just need to relax a bit. I agree with the coffee-- that always helps me go. My friend always says a glass of red wine while eating the green leafy veggies (doesn't work for me, but worth a try I guess). I hope you're feeling better! :)

V on 02/17/2011:
There is an herbal tea laxative you can drink, it usually works overnight

chidogs on 02/17/2011:
I wanted to let you know I tried your veggie soup recipe today. I used Butternut squash (similar to pumpkin), broccoli and cauliflower. I did use chicken broth to make it less thick. Yummmmmmmmy good!

moogy on 02/17/2011:
Baked beans Kathy on seeded toast. That will clear you out. If not get some senna tablets, natural and easy. Good luck, I hate it when my pipes are backed up. Fingers crossed you find a solution.:)

emmy'smom-mom on 02/18/2011:
Lots of water. Maybe your headache and lack of 'going' is dehydration? With all the exercise you do I wouldn't be surprised. Hope you feel better today lovely xxx

Blagh... had an awful, rough night. After one year of NOT having any fried stuff, I got it yesterday at the restaurant. Yeah, that was me asking for a great-sounding Tofu plate. The problem w/ these ethnic restuarants is that the employees don't speak the local language. And I don't speak Chinese... so we couldn't really figure out the contents. Apparently my favorite sushi-bar salad has mayo content which is banned from my list as well so I have to give that up, too. What happened with the tofu plate then... well, ouch. I couldn't figure out how it was made, and I ate it. It was fried. Deep fried. I woke up with terrible tummy ache in the middle of the night, had to go and take meds...

So, my swimming in the morning had to be cancelled because I didn't want to go all fuzzy... BUT I made it to Body Balance, 1st time, and I have to say I am absolutely in LOVE with it. It has to do with Tai Chi, Yoga, Pilates... but mostly Tai Chi. Very feminine, very cool, very difficult but LOVELY! I'm going to do it 3x a week, Mon/Wed/Fri. Going to ask officially to change my work schedule temporarily, so I can enter at 10am instead of 9am. Hopefully they authorize...

Right now I cannot think about eating... ARGH, nor want my usual coffee... Imagine THAT!!! I'm sipping a camomille tea...

Today's menu:

07H00 - a tangerine (50 kcal)

11H00 - a kiwi (50 kcal)

12H30 - broccoli soup, some pasta w/ legumes (400 kcal)

I'm getting better, comment by comment! :-) Thank you so much for your caring, girls!

15H00 - a strawberry and a decaf w/ LF milk (100 kcal)

16H00 - LF bifidus yogurt (100 kcal) and some healthy cookies to stabilize my stomach (150 kcal)

20H00 - a banana (100 kcal) no banana available at the supermarket, SNIFF... so I had: a plum from South Africa, a nectarine from Chile and a fresh Portuguese cheese, all worth 200 kcal instead of 100 banana but... well, I have to have strength for badminton tonight.

23H00 - veggie soup (300 kcal), some grilled chicken breast and melon leftovers (300 kcal), some chocolate (100 kcal)

Grand total: 1800 kcal

I'm better now so I won't give up and I'm going to have my badminton training!!!!! :-)

Progress as of today: 138.7 lbs lost so far, only 42.5 lbs to go!

emmy'smom-mom on 02/16/2011:
Oh no! Well the good thing is that you won't ever get tempted by fried food after feeling so bad. I hope your tummy gets better soon. I hope your work agrees for you to go to Body Balance. When you find something you love to do it's important to find a way to be able to do it. You have so many different activities now don't you?! Thanks for your comment this monring it really made me LOL! All the people who's desks are near my office looked up at me like I was a crazy woman sitting in my office by myself laughing like crazy. Aren't men annoying. They must know everything better than we do. I guess we just need to laugh a little behind their backs :) Have a good day x

Gee, I wish my body would cooperate and act up when I eat fried foods, but NO! It just thrived on that piece of fried chicken I was confronted with a week or two ago. It was SO good! I won't have the strength to resist if son Billy brings home more fried chicken.

sweetpea1977 on 02/16/2011:
Thanks Kathy. My sister is 30 years old. She works in retail and lives with her fiance in Florida. She was actually trying to lose a few pounds and hasnt been successful though she has worked her butt off and doing great with her foods (she and I discuss our food and exercise choices every day). We strongly suspect that the female problems and the digestive problems (which we wont have any answers for until mid-March) are causing her mysterious gains. Hopefully, the mystery will be solved once she recovered from surgery and gets some answers from her colonoscopy.

As for my plans, I guessed I should have said "nothing exciting planned for today" :)

Hello, girlios! :-)

Sorry for being late - busy bee. I arrived late, the railway's on strike again. Today, and tomorrow. Well, I travel by bus anyways but the traffic jam's enormous b/c everyone's bringing their cars (you know those terrible weekend drivers, LOL) ...

I had a great badminton yesterday night! Got home really tired and all sweaty... and I found a box on the table with a red heart on it . A Pilates Kit w/ cards and 2 CDs and a 8GB SD card! YAYYY... I haven't bought him anything b/c we agreed we wouldn't celebrate V-Day... To make things "right", I'm going to take him out to dinner tonight....

I had a perfect PowerPool class today, and after that, a Pilates class... YAYYY :-)

Today's menu:

06H30 - a LF yogurt and a muesli bar (150 kcal)

10H00 - LF milk w/ coffee (100 kcal)

12H00 - carrot soup and a whole vanille flavour bio yogurt (400 kcal)

16H00 - 100 gr leftover oven baked pumpkin (100 kcal)

19H30 - restaurant (probably sushi.....) - (??? kcal, let's say 1000)

Grand total: 1750 kcal

Progress as of today: 138.7 lbs lost so far, only 42.5 lbs to go!

liza36 on 02/15/2011:
I love the pictures you posted, love your new coat, and most especially, love that you are out of the obese category! Well done!

V on 02/15/2011:
What a sweet gift your man purchased for you :) Hey what is the deal with the transportation workers there, they seem to go on strike alot? I guess they don't have unions there to secure that the agreement made between workers and the government sticks! Must be a pain in the neck dealing with this almost every month it seems! Have a wonderful dinner...Where are you taking him for dinner???

KathyBlue on 02/15/2011:
Taking him to a place close to a bus that takes us home afterward, hahahahaha :)

chidogs on 02/15/2011:
Goodness, that man of yours is a keeper! What a great and thoughtful gift! Have fun at your dinner. Sorry about the strike thing, that sounds like it really snarls things up. Take care! :)

moogy on 02/15/2011:
I am sure that your man would appreciate a little special treatment for V day even though it may be belated. Have a wonderful time and I hope that your transport issues sort themselves out quickly, you could do without that frustration. Fingers crosssed!!

nita51 on 02/15/2011:
Girl,,,what happened to you? :):) :) I never got that E-mail from you. Anyway glad you're doing great and Happy Belated Valentines Day. :)

Weight: 187.5

Good morning, Ladies!

KathyBlue proudly announces: 85 kg!!!! BMI : OVERWEIGHT! FINALLY!!!! I'm not OBESE! YUPPPPPPPYAYYYY!!!!!! Now I updated my goal weight as well. I want to be 145 lbs (65 kgs) as final destination...! :-) Then I will think about ... the next generation, w/ my man.

Manic Monday began. I have, literally, hundreds of mails with error messages from the system. They should be love letters instead, LOL... no, seriously. We don't celebrate Valentine's Day. It's way too commercial, and it's not from European origin which is weird. We decided, a long time ago, to celebrate our love daily, weekly, whatever, and on special dates of course (October 16). So, I opt for badminton today, after French. Today I'm going to know my test results, YAYYYY...

Yesterday I didn't write because we decided to go to the shopping mall after lunch, and we were there til 6 PM. I bought a new coat for me, which is not yet good but it serves as next goal! And a pair of water shoes for HydroCycle... We arrived home around 7 PM, then I washed the dishes, roasted two slices of pumpkins (YAYYY...), ate my soup. I had way too much food at night, we ate lots of melon in order to not let it go to waste... then I had a slice of Portuguese pastry w/ nuts... So we can say, I didn't have a calorie-wise weekend, but it was more or less foodwise.

Today morning, no tennis because of rain. I went to do HydroCycle!!!! YAYYY... was really good .

Today's menu:

06H20 - soy yogurt w/ Nestlé Fitness cereals (250 kcal)

10H00 - LF milk w/ coffee (100 kcal)

12H30 - veggie soup, cooked veggies w/ a slices of grilled fish, 1 kiwi and a coffee (600 kcal)

16H00 & 18H30 - 300 gr grilled pumpkin (240 kcal), an orange (100 kcal)

23H00 - veggie soup (300 kcal)

Grand total: 1600 kcal

Progress as of today: 138.7 lbs lost so far, only 42.5 lbs to go!

waydesmommy on 02/14/2011:
From the name HydroCycle I can tell it means something with water and cycling...but what is it? Yay for getting a coat for your next goal. You will get there! I love the pic of you that you put up here...but please stay away from the flower designs. Don't know if you noticed but I have a huge hate for flowered, poka dots, stripes, and winni the pooh charicter clothes. Mostly because those are in the plus size section...and you aren't really plus size section material anymore. I hope that didn't offend you...it's just my way of saying you are doing great and I truely admire it!

selina on 02/14/2011:
Hi Kathy! Just got the photo loaded! Now I must run to yoga but will come back to comment when I return! Beijinhos!

Umpqua on 02/14/2011:
Congratulations Kat, awesome news! We're not celebrating today either, we're going out Thursday instead. The boys did make up Valentine cards to bring to school today, which is so cute. They're very excited about it LOL.

happy valentines and congrats!! xoxo missed you.

V on 02/14/2011:
Kat that is so awesome!!! Congrats for getting out of the obese category :) You are doing such an outstanding joB!!!!! I don't celebrate valentines day either, it is over hyped and love is all a bunch of mushy hooey icky pooey anyways! LOL!!!! i don't think that fb would allow some of the pics from last's night soiree be posted because of some of the areas the tattoo's were place! LOL Love you Happy V(me) Day :)

Fantastic job! What an achievement. It must give you a new level of motivation, you should be very very proud! I'd never heard of stevia but just googled it and can order it online. Do you use it for cooking?

sweetpea1977 on 02/14/2011:
Yay!!! Look at that new weight!! And congrats on not being obese anymore!! I remember how awesome I felt the day I entered the overweight category. Such a warm and exciting feeling!! :)

Your final goal weight is similar to mine! Of course, like you, Im going to be setting mini-goal weights before making 145 or so my final destination. I cant wait to meet you there! :)

Yes,I took pictures of Ethan flying his kite. I'll eventually upload some to my facebook page. It takes me forever to get around to posting new photos on there. My goal is to have them up before baby boy arrives...that gives me about 3-4 weeks, lol!

moogy on 02/14/2011:
Congratulations Kathy 85kg is wonderful, only overweight and not obese is a great barrier to break. I am still going for 100kg as my first goal. As usual, great exercise. I am so proud of you Kathy, good for you!

chidogs on 02/14/2011:
Wow! I am totally excited for you. What a great success that is. Good for you! Enjoy that new coat, and I know you will soon. Take care.

Weight: 189.0

Good morning, Girls! :-)

I'm soooooooo down w/ muscle pains, hehehe... Pilates+swimming+PowerDeep without the belt is a great combo!

Today I'm going to roast pumpkin in the oven for dinner while I'm making a celery-based soup, hehe... niiiice. :-)

Yesterday I got so mad... I instantly remembered of V's complaints about this subject, listen: I was having a nice conversation with the PowerDeep trainer, a lean, tall guy at the pool about my weight-loss plans. Now, at a certain point he turns to me with this: "You don't have to lose more weight, look at you, you're SLIM already! If you continue like this, you disappear in no time." This is a huge dose of bullsh.t, but coming from a healthcare/sport trainer is a double "ouch". I have a condition here w/ my back, I have to go down to NORMAL weight. I'm 189 lbs, for my height it's OBESE category, and even when I finally get out of this one, I still have to pass through OVERWEIGHT. So, please, nice people, don't tell me I'm slim because it's a barefaced lie. I told him about my priorities changing for the future, tonifying the muscles and gain them, etc... and he liked it. Me too. LOL... If I'd go to a new doctor now, he would certainly advise me to lose weight (just like what happened to Tange!). People who know about my efforts and progress, it's too much for them for now, I understand. But for me, I'm still doing my journey and I feel capable to go to the finish line and stay there.

Here's an other photo from yesterday night, it was on my man's machine! :-) This is from central Lisbon, as the previous ones:

Progress as of today: 137.2 lbs lost so far, only 34 lbs to go!

V on 02/13/2011:
You look amazing and yes get ready for all of the critics, most of them mean well and it certainly gets annoying at times...For some reason people think it is okay to also ask how much you weigh, what size you are which is totally rude in my opinion, so get ready for that as well...You will know when it is time for maitainance and I know that you won't go overboard with your loss and you are doing it at a very healthy pace.....I do have to say that your height plays a major key in your appearance, although you have 34 more to go I think you look lean and fit, regardless of the numbers :) Love you have a great day :)

selina on 02/13/2011:
KayhyBlue, you look amazing! Thank you so much for posting those photos, they bring amazing memories! I recognize the places and the only thing missing is pasteis de belem! I used to be able to buy pasteis de nata in Geneva, but in the US they are nowhere to be found! Which is a good thing for me, I guess. Keep up with the great work! I know you can do it! BTW, how tall are you? You look very tall! Great camera, you've got - I'd keep it! Do you use flash to take those photos? Do you use a tripod at night?

selina on 02/13/2011:
Is the photo above, Sao Geronimo?

getmebackto150 on 02/13/2011:
I love the photo... I hear you on being frustrated with the trainer saying you are already slim!!! 5 years ago when I was my skinniest... I weighed about 140# and I'm 5'5". My BMI was 23.5... right in the middle of the normal range... and people ALL the time would tell me... your too skinny, you don't eat enough, you look anorexic... Its really frustrating!!! Our society is used to overweight people and they cannot handle it sometimes when people want to actually be at a HEALTHY weight...

sweetpea1977 on 02/13/2011:
How frustrating!! That would annoy me so much!!

On a happier note, I love all the photos you posted! So pretty!

nemogirl on 02/13/2011:
What an intriguing photo.

nemogirl on 02/13/2011:
Also, about people commenting about whether we need weight loss or not. There is a friend of mine at the gym who has more weight to lose than me, and each time I discuss my own weight or dieting, she instantly responds that I'm skinny and don't need to lose anything. I can't quite figure out how to respond to this. I think I'm going to post this on my page and see if others have some insight.

moogy on 02/13/2011:
Lovely picture Kathy, what a beautiful city you live in. I miss living in a country with a history. Living in a country with only two hundred odd years history is strange after growing up in England visiting several hundred years old buildings and cities.

Weight: 189.0

Oh, fast entry at the end of the day (10PM).. I had a good Saturday: Pilates, swimming, aquafitness and HydroCycle Clinic (now I'm able to do hydrocycle classes because I did the test. They don't allow ppl to assist without this test, it's a requirement). I didn't have a foodwise day, but whatever... no crazy stuff. I had a LF café latte @Starbucks and two pastéis de Belém (Portuguese traditional pastry). Thought about you, guys. :-)

We came home around 3 PM but then at 5 PM I was sick of being home and cold, so I told my man to go out and do some photos with my new machine while it's still in the 15 days of experience period (one can return and receive refund without big explanations within 15 days). These are the photos of dark Lisbon, enjoy! :-) And I hope you like my new water resistant jacket, too... LOL... no, today I wasn't wearing RED... LOL... I was Kathy the Blue... :-P

Progress as of today: 137.2 lbs lost so far, only 34 lbs to go!

moogy on 02/12/2011:
Beautiful pictures and you look incredibly happy Kathy. I have really noticed over the last few months that you have changed from looking at the camera shyly to laughing at it. It is a wonderful transformation. Enjoy your Sunday:)

:) You look amazing my friend! Love the pics, Love you!!!!

Freaky Friday!!!!

My day didn't begin well. I lost the bus. A big thing to lose I know, LOL... but for 1 single minute, I managed to lose it. OK, I caught the next one, I arrived 15 min late to the tennis court. No problem, because MEANWHILE a huge fog came out of nowhere and the courts got wet (this happened like 5 mins before the training would start!)... OK, no problem, I went to the swimming pool to have a PowerPool (aquafitness level 3) class, at 07h30 as written in their pamphlet... On the way to the pool in the darkness, fog, I managed to fall, the road was wet and I had my tennis shoes on. I had a panic attack because of the fall, I had to mentally remind myself that I don't have 100+ kilos anymore (220+ lbs) so a fall is no more a big deal, don't worry, etc. etc... I arrived to the pool, got dressed, etc. and went to look for the PowerPool class - which apparently didn't exist. They told me inside that the class has been cancelled. LOL... OK, then, what should I do... HydroCycle... I can't do HydroCycle without having a test at the HydroCycle Clinic (it sounds serious, huh... but they informed me about this). OK, I opted for free swimming, 45 minutes. It wasn't too good either, I was so tense because of the fall that I was struggling with leg cramps all the time... which is not really good in deep waters... And to add the cream on top: the pool was super-filled with TROLLS who don't swim but "attack" with their arms. LOL... and I didn't wear my swimming glasses coz I was prepared for aquafitness... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH, bad day it is!!! I hope badminton at night will compensate the stress. So far... workplace's calm at least. LOL... and I feel great after the swimming. I feel so slim in the water... it tastes really good. :-)

My lunch colleagues are absent today so I'll eat alone. :-(

Today's menu:

06H00 - soy yogurt w/ a pear (150 kcal)

10H00 - LF milk w/ coffee (100 kcal)

13H00 - veggie soups (had two doses here, lol - 400 kcal), a fresh 0% fat cheese w/ fresh veggies (120 kcal) a LF yogurt (100 kcal)

16H00 - a soy yogurt (100 kcal) and an orange (50 kcal)

20H30 - veggie soup (300 kcal)

Grand total: 1500 kcal

To complete a perfectly sh*tty day: Joana just called me and cancelled the badminton training for today, so I go home after work. I will go to bed early so I can wake up tomorrow morning and have a better day with Pilates and aquafitness....

Progress as of today: 137.2 lbs lost so far, only 34 lbs to go!

V on 02/11/2011:
Sounds like you and I are having similar weather! And if there were "trolls" in the pool, i wouldn't want any part of the nonsense! LOL Kat at least you can make a stressful situation funny and take it in stride :) Where are your co workers? Did you lose them in the fog? LOl Love you Kitty Kat! Enjoy the rest of your day!

selina on 02/11/2011:
OMG, I'm so glad you didn't get hurt with the fall... slippery floors are so dangerous! You are so active and I envy your level of energy! Have a great day and badminton in the evening! Thanks for all the tips, yesterday!

sweetpea1977 on 02/11/2011:
Ack! Gotta hate trolls!

Whats the deal with your co-workers being out? Did you miss a memo about today being a day off? :-) Kidding of course. Sorry you'll be eating alone. Maybe you can turn on some music and rock out when you are done!

Anyway, Im glad you are ok after your fall. Im scared to death of falling, which is why Im more of a sport spectator than a player. Heaven help me if my sons want to play football! lol

Thanks for your comment, you are TOO cute.... She has oral liquid antibiotics (she is 6), the school can not legally give them to her, so I brought them to give them to her...Her gramma is a physician and checked her out and prescribed them (so that was easy) and I'm a nurse so I know allll about the importance of not only taking the antibiotics on time but also for the amount of time prescribed.... never stop them just cause you start feeling better, that creates resistance with that certain "bug".... Thanks for the advice though, LOve you miss!

It might not have worked out to be the type of day you wanted Kathy but you did great with your food. Nothing will deter you from your course. Good for you!
