Good morning, Ladies...

For me it's not too good so far... Tennis was great but I have a sore throat from yesterday, and taking hot drinks (Coldrex and Neocitran, filled with vitamins and paracetamol to prevent fever) already.

Dunno if I go or not to hidropower class today. TOM's very heavy on me this month, but now (on the 3rd day) it's getting better... and the sore throat, we'll see during the day. I decide later. It'd be a shame to skip the class, as it's so much fun!

French course: maybe I get to know the details today. Maybe...

Today's menu:

06H00 - LF milk w/ 20% coffee drink and some cereal leftovers (300 kcal)

10H00 - LF milk w/ coffee (100 kcal)

12H45 - lecso (yeah, still have a lot) with bread, 2 plums (600 kcal)

16H00 - LF milk w/ coffee (100 kcal) and a yogurt (60 kcal)

17H00 - 2 cookies (100 kcal)

19H00 - a bun (bread) (150 kcal)

Grand total: 1500 kcal


Progress as of today: 102.2 lbs lost so far, only 64 lbs to go!

So Glad to hear from you sis. I'm better when I hear from my sis, and it really lifts my spirits. OK, I will try a meatless day, but Monday's are a little stressful for me, I'd like to go meatless maybe in the middle of the week, say like Wednesday?. Would that be cool? Sis please take it easy. Try not to over exert yourself while on TOM. You might want to try a little Airborne before your sore throat developes into a full cold. I tried it and it really works. Hope you feel better. Hope you feel better. It's amazing how something that seems little like a sore throat really makes you feel horrible. Take care of yourself and be gentle with yourself so you can be 100% again fast! :)

You are my exercise idol, you continually amaze me at all the variety you are doing and loving exercise. I can only aspire to be like that!

Im sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. I know that hydro class is amazing, but please dont overdo the exercise while sick, especially if you have a fever. Your body needs strength to recover. Take it easy my friend!

Don't forget...chicken noodle soup usually helps...don't know if you have the Campbell's brand where you are or not, but probably any brand, including homemade would help. It's mostly the chicken broth that helps a lot, I think. Feel better! :-)

Busy weekend over here! Yesterday TOM arrived, agressively... It didn't stop me to go to a Pilates class though, and then I had a PowerDeep class as well. Looks like the timetable I have for the pools aren't really showing the "real deal". Some of the classes there weren't open because of lacking enough participants. So, there's no HidroDeep nor HidroCycle classes open on Saturdays, only PowerDeep. It was enough for me, though.

Pilates: killing. The woman who holds the class is awesome. She's the pool coordenator, she is a gym freak and she's very good in Pilates. I had her around all the time, showing me the right moves and correcting me all the time. Awesome. I'm really happy having chosen this class! :-)

Today I went to play tennis, didn't play well (hot weather + TOM + stressed me because my lift arrived late to pick me up AS ALWAYS... the dude is terrible!...) I hate being late especially if it's fun. It's robbed time, and I couldn't heat my body up before playing, so I played like a rock...

Food: was OK on Saturday (around 1600 kcal), and today I had grilled salmon at a birthday party held in a Sintra restaurant, with boiled potatoes and broccoli, and a slice of portuguese type birthday cake which is not that dangerous. Unnecessary though, as we know it.... so let's say, today around 1800 kcal. Not bad .

I'm very happy to say I've been doing good on the WC , too. I rarely talk about this but sometimes I have hard times in this field.

Eating after 7pm: goes well! :-) Thank you for your continous support, girls! 

Bad news I received yesterday: Our friend, C-R (male) who has been dieting for 2 years now, or more, has 55 kgs now (121 pounds) and he keeps losing weight. He cannot stop and people, family, are concerned with him... many people talked to him but he doesn't admit anything and he says his medical records are clean. I hope one day we all can decide when to stop and when to start to concentrate on maintaining weight instead of losing.

Hopefully TOM's bloat will be gone by my weigh in on Tue :( It came Thurs so I should be good??? OMG your male friend must look emaciated at a mere 120 lbs...That is too small for me at 5'7 i can only imagine what he looks like :( I hope he snaps out of it

Bonjour, dear Ladies! Have a Fun Friday! 

Confession: yesterday I couldn't complete day 2. of the challenge "Not eating after 7 pm.". I got home earlier because the school where the French course will be, wasn't able to give us any news... So basically we were confirmed on the student list and went away. Next week, then. (The course should begin on Tuesday... )

So, why couldn't I keep the challenge - I made a big mistake during the day: haven't had any fruit. I got home and I had this stupid craving so I ate fruits before going to bed. I don't consider this wrong, though I want to continue the challenge and I re-start it today.

I had tennis in the morning (WAS GREAT) and tonight I'm going to try appear at the swimming pool at 7pm pontual, to have a HidroPower class...

Tomorrow, I have Pilates at 9.30 AM, then I'm going to take 3 classes of Hidro no swimming pool. Hidrogymnastics (Aquafitness), HidroDeep (Aquafitness in 2m deep pool), PowerDeep (fitness with weights in 2m deep pool) and a HidroCycle... I tell you how it went! 

Today's menu:

06H15 - fruit mix (100 kcal)

09H30 - LF milk w/ coffee and a piece of bread (250 kcal)

13H00 - 2 grilled chicken legs (both thighs and drumsticks) and fresh veggies (tomato, mushroom, cucumber) with natural yogurt+salt dressing (650 kcal)

16H00 - a LF yogurt (100 kcal)

 Grand total: 1100 kcal

Funny, I've already finished 2 litres (approx. 68 oz) of water today... and it's only 1.15 pm here!!!

WOW what a day of exercise you have planned...awesome! My walking buddy and I just walk and "girl talk" lol it's lots of fun. She goes to the playgroups with me too and we have become great friends =) Enjoy your fabulous Friday! I'm proud of you for sticking to the fruit after 7...don't feel too bad about it! I actually ended up eating an apple last night at like 9:30PM haha sometimes your body just needs the fuel especially if you're active!

Fruit is a great emergency snack when feeling hungry in the evening hours. Plus, you did some serious exercise so your body needed the fuel at that time. So like V said, hit the restart button and have a great weekend! :)

Im willing to bet they used a bondsman to bail the creep out. Basically, you pay a man a certain percentage of the bond and he pays for the rest of the bail. But, if the criminal doesnt show up at his courthearing, both you and the criminal have to pay in some way. I believe the non-criminal has to pay the bondsman back, with interest and the criminal goes back to jail and his bail is set even higher for failure to appear in court.

I think that if you are going to commit to the 30 consecutive days you are going to have to get a little more organised. Maybe carry a healthy snack with you if you are caught out and not able to prepare food. Just start again, at least the slip up was at the beginning and not after you had been going well for a few days. Today is a new day and a new start kathy. Let's go!!!:)

I love honest people :D But glad to hear your restarting :D I'm on day three of no eating past 8pm...next month I'm doing the 7pm thing for the month and the month after that maybe 6pm...depends on how the 7pm goes ;) Hang in there, your doing great! 1. the 1st day of 30 days without eating after 7 PM. Moogy: I DID IT! :)

2. I'm at 99,9 kgs!!!!!! I won't record it before TOM, but.. but... this is the first time in history that I have a two-digit weight as an adult... WOWOWOWOWOW!!! I LOVE YOU ALL, GIRLS!!! Your support is a big percentage of this achievement!!!!

3. aquafitness and hydrocycle: no hydrocycle, that class had been cancelled but I participated in a HYDRODEEP class instead, which is aquafitness in 2 meters deep water. WELL.... I felt great after, but today morning I woke up like this, stupid looking hair HEHEHEHEHE...:

Today's menu:

08H00 - LF milk w/ coffee and cereais (350 kcal)

10H00 - LF milk w/ coffee at work (100 kcal)

11H00 - a cookie (50 kcal)

13H00 - a grilled chicken leg w/ lecso and a slice of bread from yesterday, a banana (800 kcal)

Good morning!

YESSSS, a real good morning! Yesterday I enrolled on the French course. Wonder if it will be more difficult to me, as Portuguese is based on Latin (as French) and the native Portuguese won't have hard times to learn it I guess. And I'm Hungarian, a language that doesn't sound like any other, maybe Finnish... LOL. I'm unique. Me and my other 10 million+ Hungarian speaking fellows...

Tennis started today. LOVED IT! Finally a MALE coach!!! They normally have more imagination than women. Really. And we're two on the class, (yeah, 7 AM is not that popular, LOL) PERFECT!!!! I got soooo exited I couldn't sleep after 4 AM... like a kiddo, ehehehe...

Today I'm going to have my first class of aquafitness, and I noted yesterday that they make a hyrdo-cycle class right after the aquafitness so I decided to give that a try, too. 3 hours of excercise, 3 times a week - sounds PERFECT!

Today's menu:

06H00 - a slice of vollkornbrot (german black bread) with a triangle LF cheese and a tomato (300 kcal)

09H30 - LF milk w/ coffee (100 kcal)

11H15 - 2 cookies (100 kcal)

11H40 - a yogurt (100 kcal)

12H45 - grilled chicken with some lecso and a hot small bread (couldn't resist this) - (800 kcal)

15H30 - LF milk w/ coffee (100 kcal)

Now I'm going to stop snacking and stuff (no more calories for today!!!)... I'm in the challenge of not eating after 7 PM for 30 days. This is the FIRST DAY. Mustn't be that hard as I'm going to arrive home late..

Mycomputer is broken, Kathy! I can't download photos on the laptop, I'm afraid... I have so many photos of our trip to Paris, London and the queen mary 2, but I cant download them, yet. Maybe, I need a computer expert to look at it :( As for the cherry trees, I shall take photos of them next spring - I heard they bloom beautifully every spring. When we planted them they were little, but now they are gigantic!

With my exercise, so far I've just keep going during TOM. I was even sick with a cold for a week, and I would adjust my intensity level, or duration, maybe do a little less. But at least I moved and exercised, which was better than nothing at all.

Good morning, Girls!

I'm super-excited. Finally, found a French language course, FOR FREE, in a nearby (100 metros) secondary school for adults. GREAT!!! Tomorrow I go there and learn more about the opportunity. I hope it will fit in my plans (exercise), coz I'm only available on Tues - Thursdays.

Yesterday I made letcho, a Hungarian food made of veggies:

Hungarian lecso (LEH-choh) is a vegetable stew that combines three of Hungary's favorite ingredients -- peppers, tomatoes and paprika. Lecso can be served variously as a vegetable side dish, appetizer or the main meal itself.

The recipe:


("This is a traditional Hungarian vegetable and meat dish that has been 'Americanized' into a thick stew. My grandmother used to make this for me. This is the easiest recipe to make, even if you're not a good cook! It has quick preparation time and it is liked by everyone who tries it!")

Today's menu:

08H00 and 10H00 - LF milk w/ coffee (200 kcal)

11H00 - 3 cookies (150 kcal)

13H00 - lecso with a piece of bread and a soy dessert (600 kcal)

14H00 - a huuuge nectarine (100 kcal)

18H00 - a cookie and a yogurt and some LF milk w/ coffee and a bread (450 kcal)

20H00 - 2 peaches and a cookie (170 kcal)

Grand total: 1700 kcal

UPDATE: I'm on the French language course! :) The free, one year course cost me 24 euros (LOL), and the timetables are not yet set so I still HOPE I can make the Tue-Thurs schedule. Have to go there and check on Monday.... Not too good as I have aquafitness that day. But maybe the period comes because it's foreseen for tomorrow and I'm still not into getting into water on the first 3 days of the p....

12H30 - grilled chicken from yesterday with mushrooms, raw tomato and cucumber, covered in plain yogurt (600 kcal)

 17H00 - 2 whole cookies with LF milk and coffee, a pear (300 kcal)

21H00 - a banana and a peach (150 kcal)

Grand total: 1700 kcal

Aw, you are a cute couple! We find any excuse to celebrate - dinner and a night out is a great evening for us. That said, we rarely buy each other gifts. We are just happy to have a date night together with a good meal and nice conservation. And having a babysitter is a good reason to celebrate too ;)

As for Blood Mountain, there is some mystery on how it got its name. Some say it is from a bloody battle between the Cherokee and Creek Indians who lived in Georgia in the 16th century. Others say the name is the color of the plant life that grows on top of the mountain. All I saw was green at the time, so perhaps it will turn red once autumn arrives. Unfortunately, I didnt get any pictures. Sigh.

Good morning, Ladies!

Thanks for your support on yesterday's entry. Today, marvellously, I'm 100,9 kg (222,6 lbs) but I won't update it yet. Gonna wait til the period comes and goes, to update the weight.

Yesterday I had: 1 cup of smashed 100% fruit (baby food my friends left a few weeks ago, lol), a banana, then a home-made veggie soup, 4 small plums, 2 nectarines and finally a soy dessert. Grand total: 1000 kcal. Water intake: WRONG, I drank a small amount but I went to the WC like every 2 hours, which was crazy. Maybe the weigh loss came from there, lol. After the late plane trip and arrival (we arrived at 23.30 to Lisbon airport and got to bed at 2 AM) I woke up early yesterday, so during the day I didn't do that many things. I washed some clothes and dried them, and I slept. Hours and hours. Felt good. :-)

Today: Family party. ARGH. Hope I can stand it. Willpower and patience, please come to mommy......

Today's menu:

09H00 - LF milk w/ 20%coffee substitute and some cereals (300 kcal)

11H00 - a banana (100 kcal)

from 13H00 to 20H00: some keshew nuts (150 kcal), grilled chicken breast w/ salad (lettuce, tomato, onions with olive oil and vinagre) (500 kcal), grapes and melon (300 kcal), steamed shrimps from the oven (400 kcal), some sweets, nothing creamy, and very good portion control!!! I'm proud! (approx. 400 kcal)

Total: 2150 kcal (basically the cakes were the unnecessary part, but the intake is not that dangerous for a party)

So close to being 100k, it probably won't mean much to many of the pound counters here but I know that that elusive 100k is a big deal. It is my first goal. I hope the family party goes OK for you and that you are not too tempted by any goodies.

Goodies, Girls!

I'm BACK. I'm back to Portugal, back to my cats, and the worse part: back to work. Well, one just can't reach perfection here. I'm up 3 lbs, so ironically I would be able to party again on 100 lbs lost as I'm at 99 now.

Today and tomorrow I'm going to make cleansing with light foods, soups and fruits. Then on Monday, if period doesn't come in the meantime as it's really time for it to come, I feel... I'll update my weight.

Yesterday I got pancakes and stuff at my friends' home... that's why the extra weight, I hope it's temporarily as I haven't been to WC, etc. I'm not sad, I'm not disappointed: I had a good farewell party yesterday, that's all. Without too wise food choices and the usual portion control problem. Gonna get rid of this extra in no time, right? :-)

Do you believe I haven't had any fruits during this week? I bought apples but I didn't like the taste... and the other days I haven't found any decent piece of fruit, but that just me being picky. On the other hand I had lots of bread, I bought vollkornbrot in Austria, etc... LOTS of bread. Now I'm not willing to eat bread, will skip it this month. Our bank account is cleared this month, we have 70 cents on it, so we have to live on what's in the fridge and hope there won't happen anything that would require payments.

Next week starts: TENNIS , AQUAFITNESS, SWIMMING , PILATES and GYM! :-D I'm soooo excited!
