Good afternoon to you.

Scale read 152 this morning.  Altho not 151, which I was recently at, I am thankful that I am currently maintaining 152.  My stretch Levi's 10's jeans are loose.  I am okay with this size/weight, even if I don't lose more but at the same time, not giving up...would like to get to at least 148 to 150...  Sure does require discipline, doesn't it?  But, it is 'doable'...  Though it is very important to not get down too low in daily calories...and also make sure one has adequate protein intake...as well as carbs, etc, too.  'Balance'...

Good evening to you.

Scale read 151 this morning.

Hubby    LargeManWaving.gif image by autumn1234567 and I walked again this morning.  Was nice and foggy outside but the air was fresh.

Found out that a dear Friend of ours, a wonderful, sweet Christian, went to be with the Lord.  She was 101.  A prayer warrior and she loved everybody and was loved by many.

Hope you are having a good day.  Every day with our Lord Jesus is a good day!

101 is a very long life! that's wonderful she had so many years with everyone.

Being active is best, probably helping you remain at your goal. I hope to get in a short bike ride later :)

Donkey on 08/04/2019:
I'm sorry for your loss. It's hard for those of us left behind.

Wow, look at that scale! You're on a roll!

I meant to comment earlier this week about Hubby deciding not to retire a third time (lol) quite yet. I find it very interesting, but have no opinion either way. I think about it for myself, so that I can spend more time with my husband, but logically, I know I'm far too young to retire right now. I do often think that part-time would be nice. The grass is always greener....

BearCountryGG on 08/04/2019:
I'm sorry to hear of your friends passing........as sad as I'm sure everyone feels at losing her....she definately was a tough lady to make it to such an advanced age....she must have been a delight to those who knew her....

i have mostly always been thinner in the summer also because it's easier to be active. This is the first summer in awhile that i've remained the same weight so far because i am not doing more cardio this year in the summer.

nice you have mentioned your daughter and even better that you both went to see your mom. that is wonderful. i am QUITE SURE your mom was very glad you were able to come!

Maria7 on 07/31/2019:
Yes, she was...I visit her almost daily but DD works a lot so a special treat for Mom to see her today.

Horn_of_plenty on 07/30/2019:
it can get so lonely and boring there!

Maria7 on 07/31/2019:
Yes, but would be so wonderful if the residents had visitors regularly. Lots of them sit in their wheelchairs in the hallways, smiling and hoping that visitors to other residents passing by them might stop and have a few pleasant words to share with them. It means so much to them, Horn. Even visitors with no family nor friends living at the nursing homes would be so welcome to come inside and greet some of the nursing home residents who crave company but have very little visitors, if any.

Donkey on 07/31/2019:
Way to go, Maria!

It's nice that you live close so that you can visit your mom. I sometimes walk by a nursing home, and I hope that I give anyone who may be looking out the window, something different to see. (always wearing my wide-brimmed sun hat and a smile)

Maria7 on 07/31/2019:
I'm sure they enjoy seeing you pass by...but I know they would REALLY REALLY love to meet you! Many of the nursing home residents get very few visitors, if any and you are such a sweet, caring person, Donkey, that your visit would just make someone's day! Nursing homes welcome all visitors, whether if they know anyone there or not. Just going inside and speaking to someone in the hallway or saying hello to someone in their room is welcomed. It makes the residents very, very happy.

Congrats on your scale and also on staying positive and maintaining really well.

I have always found it easier to weigh less in summer because i am usually a little more active than in the wintertime.

Hello to you all.

Scale reported 157 this morning.

nativeamericanwomanandcanoeanimgif.gif image by autumn1234567

The flowers are still blooming outside, even though we have been having high temperatures of heat indexes over 100.  Roses, petunias, day lilies are all still doing well...Lantanas haven't done so well this year.  The apple trees have apples on them, almost ready to harvest.  The peach trees didn't make peaches this year.  Maybe frost got them, I think.  The plum tree only had a few plums.  But our crepe myrtle trees have really done well this year with very beautiful blooms...The one in the back yard has done the best it ever has this year, loaded with bright pink blooms and the one in the front yard is blooming purple blooms.  Not so many grapes on the grapevine, though.  Different plants like different temperatures and different amounts of moisture...

We all have so much to be thankful to the Lord for.   We just need to keep focusing on the positives and not on the negatives.  Hoping you are having a good day.

i love that you wrote we need to focus on the positives and not on the negatives. I have been doing that and it feels really nice. really nice even if there's a challenge, to get thru it without crying over it. it's nice not to stress every negative !

next, how nice to eat the fresh fruit from your garden! how are the chickens ?

Donkey on 07/14/2019:
I love to read about your garden. Do you eat your harvests?

I am quite pleased with my milkweed garden. I have several bee friends and 2 very large monarch butterfly friends now. We had a caterpillar friend, who started out so small and got much bigger - but not fully BIG. We're having problems locating him, so maybe a bird got him?

Anyway, I find that my accidental garden brings me much joy and peace of mind. I have seeds for cone flowers (echinacea -- I read somewhere that bees and butterflies love this) and of course, I'll have more milkweed seeds once the pods form --- these I will plant in the dirt in the fall, to help fill out the garden area more.
